On April 2, Jetour announced that its Shanhai T2 light off-road plug-in hybrid SUV is officially opened for pre-sales with a price range of 184,900 – 216,900 yuan (25,500 – 30,000 USD). Consumers can choose from three models. It is worth pointing out that the T2 is a rebadged Jetour Traveller C-DM .

Shanhai (山海 – literal translation means mountain sea from Chinese) is a new energy vehicle series under Jetour.

Positioned as a light off-road SUV, its overall appearance is the same as that of the Jetour Traveller with a square shape, and the rear is equipped with an external spare tire cover. The dimensions of the Jetour Shanhai T2 are 4785/2006/1875 (1910) mm, and the wheelbase is 2800 mm.

The Shanhai T2 has an approach angle of 28°, a departure angle of 30°, a minimum ground clearance of 205 mm, and a wading depth of 700 mm. Two tire specifications are offered: 255/55 R20 and 255/60 R19. A 64-inch panoramic sunroof is also not absent.

Inside, the cockpit features a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central control screen with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The vehicle can seat five people with a 2+3 layout. Other configurations include keyless entry, APP remote control, 50 W wireless charging for mobile phones, steering wheel heating, and seat electric adjustment.

Additionally, its level 2 advanced driving assistance capabilities come with adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, traffic jam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, hill descent control, hill hold control, and integrated cruise control.

The entire series is powered by Chery’s Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM system consisting of a fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI hybrid engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, mated to a 3-speed DHT. The engine outputs 115 kW and 220 Nm while the electric motor outputs 165 kW and 390 Nm. The dual motor setup brings the system’s comprehensive power to 280 kW and torque to 610 Nm.

Last night, Jetour Auto Philippines held a celebratory dinner as it marked its first 100 days in the local automotive industry. Managing director Miguelito Jose announced during the program that the company had already sold 300 units in those first three months or so, which is quite the feat.

Suffice to say it’s been an eventful 100 days so far for the Chinese carmaker. But it has no plans of slowing down, as it already has four big new models in the pipeline.

First of the four new models confirmed was the T2, also known as the Traveller. This is the Ford Bronco-like off-roader in Jetour’s global lineup. Considering how much our market loved the Toyota FJ Cruiser, a 4x4 like the T2 could potentially perform well for the brand here.

The second model announced was the Dashing PHEV. Pictured here is the petrol-powered variant which we already have. The plug-in hybrid version produces a maximum of 322hp and 545Nm of torque, which is a massive upgrade from the 156hp, 230Nm 1.5-liter turbo engine we currently have.

Third on the list is the X90 Plus, a sizeable seven-seater vehicle that could contend in the local midsize SUV segment. Last is the X50, which is a soon-to-be-unveiled crossover that we have no details of just yet.

What we also don’t have info on is the actual schedule. Jetour Auto Philippines didn’t give us a timeline, but we do expect these launches to happen soon. The brand does aim to reach 50,000 local sales in five years, so we reckon it’ll continue to expand its lineup as soon as it gets the chance.

Jetour, in partnership with Elite Cars, has launched the new T2 off-road SUV in the UAE. The Jetour T2 will be offered in a single top-specification variant priced at AED 125,000. Bookings for the T2 are already underway and deliveries are expected to start soon.

The Jetour T2 is the first T-series product under the Jetour brand, representing the spirit of travel and modern luxury. This off-road SUV is designed for thrill-seekers, combining intelligent, cutting-edge technology with an exquisite muscular design and unparalleled performance.

It ensures a smooth and exhilarating drive on all terrains, from bustling urban streets to steep inclines in nature. Notable features of the Jetour T2 include a 4-cylinder 2.0 Turbo-charged engine that delivers 254 bhp, a choice of seven driving modes, an intuitive multi-function display, bilingual voice control, and Kunpeng Power.

The Jetour T2 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The T2 uses an advanced four-wheel drive system that the brand calls XWD.

The T2’s boxy silhouette is both form and function. The square profile enhances the SUV’s rugged and modern appeal. It also frees up interior space for a practical cabin.

Inside, the Jetour T2 offers a wealth of features and a comfortable leather-wrapped cabin. The panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting give the cabin an airy feel.

In terms of technology, the infotainment function is handled by a 15.6-inch screen, while the instrumentation is handled by a 10.25-inch screen. The raised centre console in the middle houses the gear lever and buttons for navigating through the SUV’s drive and off-road modes.
