The best $120 I've spent at Disney this year got me into Magic Kingdom's secret tunnels

Tarah Chieffi

What would you say if I told you I paid $120 (on top of my park ticket) to walk around Disney World for five hours and only got on two rides? You'd probably think I'd have been better off spending that money on 15 Dole Whips or creating a realistic lightsaber at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge .

But what if I also told you that during those five hours I had some of the most fun I've had at Disney all year, learned enough park history to fill a book, got to see how the magic is made, and visited backstage areas where guests are not typically allowed -- including the secret underground tunnels where Disney cast members, characters, supplies — and, yes, even garbage — move around under the park unseen.

And those two rides I rode? I was ushered straight to the front of the line.

I was able to do all of this (and more) on Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour . Although I am now the keeper of many Disney secrets, I am not going to divulge all of them to you here. What fun would that be? I am, however, going to share a bit about my experience so that you can decide if it's something you'd like to add to the itinerary for your next Disney World vacation .

Keys to the Kingdom: Tour essentials

If you have ever seen a cast member clad in a dapper plaid outfit leading a small group of guests around the Magic Kingdom, you may have spotted a Keys to the Kingdom Tour. (These are not to be confused with the private VIP tours that cost thousands of dollars .)

Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is held each morning at the Magic Kingdom, with four staggered start times between 8 a.m. and 9:30 am. The tour is priced at $114 per person plus tax ($121.41 total) and each tour holds about 20 guests.

Because of the small group size, advance reservations are strongly recommended, but they will take walkups based on availability. You can book the tour directly on Disney's website .

The tour is fully accessible if you have a scooter or wheelchair, and ASL interpreters are available. Tours are only given in English, but non-English speaking groups will sometimes bring their own interpreter to work alongside the tour guide.

Keep in mind that theme park admission and a Magic Kingdom Park Pass reservation are also required.

It's also worth noting that guests must be 16 years or older (with valid identification) to participate. Although I found the tour to be fascinating, my 3-, 5- and 9-year-old sons may have had something else to say about standing in the heat for five hours talking about forced perspective and how deep the water is on the Jungle Cruise, so these age guidelines are probably for the best.

Making magic: Highlights and revelations

My tour started at Town Square Theater, which is just inside the entrance to Magic Kingdom.

There is a small check-in desk outside of Tony's Town Square Restaurant where a cast member gave me a name tag and headset to use during the tour and also took my lunch order, so that it could be ready and waiting for me when we took a break for lunch.

Once everyone had checked in, our tour guide Lynn went over the basics of what would be involved — lots of walking and standing, plenty of water and bathroom breaks and no photos or videos (I took my own photos after the tour). She also helped us set up our headsets.

Then she teased us with a bit of magic that would be revealed at the end of the tour by telling us that her "onstage" answer for how Tinkerbell flies during the nightly fireworks show was pixie dust, but she would give us the "backstage" answer at the end of the tour.

kingdom tour tour

We did a lot of "walking and talking," but we also stopped at certain points so our tour guide could delve deeper into certain topics. Our first stop was Main Street, U.S.A. where we learned about the construction of the Magic Kingdom, right down to the color of the bricks. I had never paid much attention to them, but the bricks leading into the park are red. This was Disney's way of "rolling out the red carpet" for every guest who enters the park.

As we walked down Main Street, U.S.A., our tour guide pointed out the names painted on the windows above the shops. I already knew from being a self-admitted Disney nerd that the windows paid homage to people who helped make the park what it is today, but there were some I had never even noticed.

Walt Disney's name is painted above the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. This is not only because he is the "director" of the show and the director's name historically came last in the film's credits, but also because he loved vanilla ice cream.

kingdom tour tour

We made our way through Adventureland to the Jungle Cruise, where our guide shared interesting tidbits about the ride, like how Walt wanted to use real animals but was (luckily) advised against it.

Not surprisingly, we all enthusiastically answered "yes," when our guide asked if we wanted to go for a ride. Then, rather than the typical Jungle Cruise spiel (which cracks me up every time), our guide took the microphone and used our time on the ride to discuss how the mechanics of the boats and animals work, along with some Easter eggs to look out for.

kingdom tour tour

The ride revelations continued as we walked past Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain — and then things became really interesting.

Our guide took us through a door marked "Cast Members Only" and we were suddenly in a backstage area behind Splash Mountain. I felt like we were sneaking around behind the Wizard of Oz's curtain, which would have been more than enough for me. Then our guide said she had a surprise for us.

kingdom tour tour

We walked right past the huge warehouse that stages the Festival of Fantasy parade floats just in time to see them preparing the floats for the noon parade. Based on what I learned there and what I know of my own driving skills, I would never have what it takes to pilot one of those parade floats.

kingdom tour tour

By then, it was time for lunch, which was at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Frontierland. We had about 30 minutes to eat, but our food was waiting for us when we arrived. Inside each name placard marking our seats was yet another surprise — a golden keepsake pin to commemorate our tour.

kingdom tour tour

After lunch, we moved into Liberty Square, which, I learned, has one of the last Liberty Bell replicas made from the same mold as the original in Philadelphia (Disney added the distinctive crack on its own).

The Haunted Mansion sat just behind us as we discussed other elements of Liberty Square, so our guide took that opportunity to share details on its design and the special effects used to create the happy haunts who reside there. She then ushered us straight onto the ride, which I looked at in a whole new light after learning more about how it all worked.

kingdom tour tour

I think the tour guides know that seeing the secret tunnel system — dubbed the "Utilidor" by Disney — is one of the big reasons people take this tour. The Utilidor is something of an urban myth for Disney nerds and a part of the parks that most guests never see or even realize exists.

Referring to the Utilidor as a tunnel is a bit of a misnomer. The part of the Magic Kingdom most guests see is actually on the second floor of the park. The first floor is the Utilidor.

We saw the tubes where 83,000 pounds of trash per day are whisked away from the park, walked past costumed cast members on their way to meet-and-greets with guests and saw walls lined with photos and memorabilia that tied back to everything we had learned about the history and creation of the park during our tour. Since no photos were allowed, you'll have to take the tour for yourself if you want to get a peek.

kingdom tour tour

The last stop on our tour was where our guide revealed the Tinkerbell scoop she had promised us at the beginning of the tour.

If you are old enough to read this, you probably already know that Tinkerbell doesn't use just pixie dust to fly. Our guide revealed exactly where she lands at the end of her 30-second flight from the top of the 189-foot-tall Cinderella Castle. A young child walked past as she was explaining it to us and the guide stopped so as not to "ruin the magic."

kingdom tour tour

Was it worth it?

You might think that seeing how the magic is made would ruin some of the mystique of Disney World, but it actually made me appreciate it more than ever -- which was already quite a lot based on the amount of time and money I spend there. I learned so much about the care and attention to detail that went into building the Magic Kingdom and that still goes into operating the park today.

So much of Disney is in the details. Spending five hours walking through the park and focusing exclusively on those details only made the magic stronger.

One of my favorite things about Disney World is that there is always something new to discover — be it a name on a window, a "hidden Mickey" or learning something new about the "man behind the mouse," Walt Disney.

Whether you're a Disney history buff or just really into getting a peek behind the curtain at Disney World, this tour is bound to show you things you've never noticed before. You have to be OK with spending the morning and early afternoon doing more touring than riding, but after the tour is over, you'll step onto those beloved attractions with a newfound admiration for what goes into keeping the magic alive all these years later.

For those groups who are into all things Disney, yes, this tour was definitely worth the time — and money. And of course, there's the added benefit of being able to tell all your friends that you've been inside Disney World's "secret" Utilidors.

Keys to the Kingdom tour check in sign

Disney World’s Keys to the Kingdom tour offers a unique opportunity for guests to learn about the history of Walt Disney World. It also provides backstage access to the behind-the-scenes locations where the Disney magic is made. It is the perfect tour for the Disney fan who has experienced the parks before and wants to try something different on their next Disney vacation. Keep reading to find out more about my last experience on the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom.

What does the Keys to the Kingdom tour include?

Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom tour is a 5-hour walking tour of the Magic Kingdom, one of the most beloved parks in the Disney family. An experienced tour guide takes you through the experience, beginning at the Town Square Theater at the front of Magic Kingdom.

Throughout the tour, you find out the history behind some of your favorite attractions like the Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. You also discover the history behind the theme parks. This includes stops at locations down Main Street USA, Liberty Square, and little-known facts about Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse himself.

The tour is very well-paced, offering water and bathroom breaks throughout the experience. Our tour guide was fantastic at offering breaks, and we even experienced some rides along the way. Your tour includes a lunch at Pecos Bill, a part of your tour cost.

The 5-hour look at the Magic Kingdom really offers the full background magic tour experience with a stroll through the underground corridors beneath Main Street USA, the legendary hidden areas of the park. Get the inside scoop on all of your favorites in the most iconic theme park of them all.

Is the Keys to the Kingdom tour worth it?

I think the Keys to the Kingdom tour is definitely worth it for the ultimate fan of Disney parks. It is not a tour for those at the Walt Disney World resort for the first time, as it takes you to the backstage areas. The tour reveals many of the secret locations of the parks. For those that love Disney history, want to see the underground service tunnels of the cast members, and the parade floats and parade route, you will have a great time on this tour.

Do take note that this tour includes a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes for the duration of the tour. Prepare for the weather. Another bit of important information is that guests must be at least 16 years of age to participate in the tour. Guests get a fascinating history of Magic Kingdom Park, but younger children would prefer to ride the rides, so Disney leaves this tour to the adults.

Magic Kingdom theater entrance

How much does the Keys to the Kingdom tour cost?

The price of this tour currently costs $114 per person plus tax. Tour groups leave throughout the day from the Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom. The theater is located near the front of the park and the train station. Check the start time for your tour, as various tour groups leave at different times during the day. As you select your tour time, be sure to take into account the amount of time it will take you to arrive at the park. Include the time it takes to go through security and enter Magic Kingdom.

Annual passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members do receive a 15% discount. Your tour does include your lunch.

How do you check in for the Keys to the Kingdom tour?

When you arrive at the Town Square Theater, you will check in at the front desk to the left. Disney recommends you arrive 15 minutes before your tour to have plenty of time. You will meet your Disney Keys to the Kingdom tour guide at the theater.

Upon your arrival, you will receive a lanyard, your listening device, and a name tag. You will also see a menu from Pecos Bill and make your lunch order. This makes it a seamless process at lunchtime. Your lunch awaits you in a private room around noon.

After check-in, your Disney guide starts the tour! Our tour began down Main Street USA with some Disney history behind the windows on the second floor. We began to learn the hidden secrets of classic attractions along the way.

Magic Kingdom building

What happens on the tour?

The tour begins with a stroll down Main Street USA. You learn about the Five Keys of Disney and the purchase of the land for the Magic Kingdom . You also discover more about the design of the park and the historical background of the park.

Next, you will most likely make your way to Adventureland. We made our way onto the Jungle Cruise ride for our own special tour. Our tour guide provided great commentary through the entire ride. Afterward, we learned all about the Enchanted Tiki Room’s history and the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Jungle Cruise Keys to the Kingdom

Next, you will most likely make your way backstage near Splash Mountain. Here, the cast members prepare for the parade routes. We saw Mickey adjusting his head, the princesses practicing their waves, and the Maleficent float breathing fire. This behind-the-scenes access is quite incredible. You can tell the guides have taken much thought to planning the best day possible. Your view of the parade setup may vary according to the time of your tour. Luckily, ours was right before a parade, so we were able to see plenty.

Afterward, you will enjoy your lunch at Pecos Bill. Next, you learn about the history of Liberty Square and the Liberty Tree. Next up, Haunted Mansion for the skip-the-line access and ride during this special tour. Then, it’s time for the Utilidors!

This is such a special treat! You will spend about 35-45 minutes under Main Street and Cinderella Castle. Tour participants see various cast members getting lunch, traveling to their next location, or moving merchandise. Tour groups may not have cell phones or any recording equipment out in the backstage or Utilidor areas. In the end, you will hear some of the histories of Roy Disney. His great contribution to his brother’s legacy is quite remarkable.

What are the 4 Disney Keys?

Throughout the Magic Kingdom’s Keys to the Kingdom tour, we learned about the Four Disney Keys. These keys are the foundation of Disney’s success which include safety, courtesy, show, and efficiency. The fifth key added in the past few years features inclusion.

Great article. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. So far, I’ve been unable to get reservations for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I’ll continue to keep trying and even have subscribed to Mouse Watchers to keep a lookout for me. I plan to try and do walk up but my question is will I be able to get in early enough to Magic Kingdom to try to do walk up.

April 24, 2023 at 2:03 pm

That is an excellent question. I know they allow those with early dining reservations into the park early, so it would seem similar. I may try asking Guest Services earlier in the week to double-check! Hopefully, Mouse Watchers will come through for you. I have had good luck with them with many tours and dining reservations! Glad you enjoyed the article and thank you for commenting!

Hi Daniel, our tour was at 9:30, so we were able to see the noon parade set up. Hope that helps! It was a great experience.

Keys to the Kingdom Tour: The Ultimate Guide

Table of Contents

Keys to the Kingdom Overview

Walt Disney World is one of the most enchanting places on earth. The young and young at heart love screaming through rides at Magic Kingdom Park, traveling the world through the Epcot World Showcase, getting spooked at the Haunted Mansion, and much more.

However, the magic of Walt Disney World does not create itself. An entire hidden domain is dedicated to creating an amazing experience for the millions of people who visit the park every year. The Keys to the Kingdom Tour gives guests a peek behind the curtain into this fascinating world.

This amazing tour shows the life of cast members – how they start their day, take breaks, and move from place to place within the park.

Tour guides also share little-known facts, trivia, and objects as they take guests through Disney World. This gives people a peek into this world-famous park that they would otherwise never enjoy.

Most of all, tour guides unlock some of the secrets to Disney World’s magic. This involves going backstage in secret locations and learning everything that makes the most beloved spots in Disney World a reality. Prepare to be amazed as you embark on this amazing experience!

How to Book The Keys to the Kingdom Tour

You book the Keys to the Kingdom tour through a dedicated hotline listed on Walt Disney World’s webpage for the tour. This link will take you to that page, as well as other pertinent information.

How far in advance can you book the Keys to the Kingdom tour?

You can book the Keys to the Kingdom tour up to 180 days in advance of your anticipated tour date. It is also possible to simply walk up and buy tickets if they are still available. However, most travel-savvy individuals would likely advise you against waiting so close to time!

How to Save Money on the Tour

Check for deals.

Walt Disney World offers deals on many tours and experiences throughout the year. Keep informed regarding these offers – you might save a lot of money on your Keys to the Kingdom experience!

Buy a base ticket.

Walt Disney World offers two different types of tickets – base tickets and Park Hopper tickets. Base tickets grant admission to only one park per day, while Park Hopper tickets allow you to visit as many of the parks in the Disney World resort as possible in one day.

A base ticket is not only more inexpensive but more practical, as one can really take in only one park per day.

Stay off-site.

Unless you live in the Orlando, Florida, area, you will need to book a room in order to enjoy your Keys to the Kingdom experience.

There is a plethora of budget-friendly options that do not involve staying at a Disney World hotel. Hotels in a variety of price points ring the resort, not to mention private rentals on websites such as Airbnb and VRBO. Look at all your options – a great deal might just be out there!

Buy items ahead of time.

You know you will want to sport Mickey ears during the tour. Why not buy them ahead of time? Amazon provides great deals on Mickey’s ears, as well as T-shirts and other Disney-themed merchandise. Taking this step will leave you with more money to enjoy your excursion.

Pack snacks and drinks.

Walking for hours in the hot Florida sun would make anyone hungry and thirsty. You will not regret packing your own water bottle and snacks to bring along with you on the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

Unlike many theme parks, Disney allows visitors to bring their own food and drink. But do save room in your stomach – this tour offers lunch as part of the package. More on that later…

Should You Do It?

As amazing as the Keys to the Kingdom Tour is, it would not be suitable for everyone. There are people who would not enjoy this experience or could join it due to restrictions. Here are a few things to keep in mind before buying tickets and heading to Florida.

  • Age.   Disney World does not allow visitors under the age of 16 on the tour. This makes plenty of sense – no one would want to ruin Disney for its youngest guests.
  • Devotion to Disney magic . Do you adore the magic of Disney? Do you find the thought of that magic being dimmed to be distressing? Then this tour is probably not for you. The Keys to the Kingdom tour, though fun and fascinating, brings the Disney experience down to earth in a way you would likely not enjoy.

On the other hand, you should strongly consider going on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour if you are:

  • A big Disney fan . Obviously!
  • Someone who enjoys learning secrets. The stated purpose of this tour is to let guests in on some “insider” information about the park.  Brace yourself for a mind-blowing experience!
  • Someone who loves a good time. Without a doubt, there is lots of fun to be enjoyed on this tour!

There are so many captivating aspects of the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Let’s dig into the details of this amazing experience!

What do you do on the Keys to the Kingdom tour?

On the Keys to the Kingdom tour, you will enjoy learning and experiencing:

Walt Disney

Millions of people revel in the magic that this man created; however, few take the time to get to know him. The Keys to the Kingdom tour changes this reality by giving guests an in-depth look at the life of Walt Disney. Tour guides unveil the genius he applied to Disney World and take visitors through his thought process in designing and building the park.

Fun facts and trivia

There are so many interesting stories and details about Disney World that one easily misses unless someone points it out to them. This tour provides guests with a wealth of information. The hidden Mickeys throughout the park are just one example of the fascinating features that are revealed on the tour.

Secrets of the Magic Kingdom

Have you ever explored the Magic Kingdom and wondered, “I wonder what happens behind the curtain at such and such a location”? Then you are in for a treat. The Keys to the Kingdom tour goes behind the scenes of iconic locations in one of the most beloved resorts in Disney World and unveils the secrets of these spots to you. Examples of possible tour stops include the Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise.

The underworld of the Utilidors

Last but certainly not least, we come to a world-famous non-secret of Disney World: the utilidors. The Disney World resort is actually housed on the second floor of the complex. The first is a labyrinth of corridors that contains a separate world away from guests’ view.

Walt Disney supposedly came up with the utilidors when he saw a cast member in a Frontierland costume in Tomorrowland and wanted to keep such out-of-place moments from detracting from the magic of Disney.

These corridors help cast members to move between locations, house storage and food preparation facilities, and serve as the headquarters of Engineering Central, the control board of the park’s parades, lights, music, and more.

The utilidors also feature the ingenious AVAC (Automated Vacuum-Assisted Collection) garbage disposal system, which relies on pneumatic tubes to get rid of the tons of trash generated by park visitors every year.

If you would like to learn more about the utilidors, follow the link to this article full of fascinating details about these corridors.

Are there any rides on the Keys to the Kingdom tour?

You will likely experience several rides during the Keys to the Kingdom tour. However, it is important to remember that Disney reserves the right to change specific stops on the tour at any time. Furthermore, the focus of this tour is not as much the rides as the behind-the-scenes details about Disney that it offers. So buckle up and enjoy everything you will experience on this tour!

Tips for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour

Guest requirements

As mentioned previously, guests on the Keys to the Kingdom tour must be over 16 years of age. They must also have a valid photo I.D. to be admitted. So, tour day would not be the time to forget your wallet at the hotel!

The cost of the tour is $129-$149 per person. This amount, however, is for the tour only – you must also pay the price for general admission to go on the tour. Keep this in mind as you budget for this amazing experience!

The Keys to the Kingdom tour is mostly outdoors and completely on foot. Thus, wearing sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes is especially important. You should also make sure to stay hydrated. Keep an eye on the weather forecast as well, and bring an umbrella or raincoat just in case the heavens open while you are on the tour.

Photography/videography policy

Planning on documenting the entire Keys to the Kingdom tour for your vlog? Think again. Disney World has a strict policy forbidding any use of cameras, video cameras, and even cell phones during the tour. Though this is not convenient, it does make sense. Disney does not want all the secrets to be spilled and ruin future tours or the Disney experience for other visitors.

One of the great benefits of this tour is the fact that lunch is included! Thus, you can enjoy everything you are learning and experiencing without worrying about how you will fix the rumble in your stomach later!

Souvenir

Another neat perk of the Keys to the Kingdom tour is the one-of-a-kind souvenir tour guides give you. Previous tour guests received a key pin with mouse ears engraved with the words “Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom” on it.

Of course, it is important to remember that the souvenir you receive could look different. Nonetheless, whatever you receive will be special and unique to the tour!

If you adore Walt Disney World, love learning interesting facts and little-known trivia, and want your eyes opened to what makes this world-famous park tick, then you will want to buy tickets to the Keys to the Kingdom tour. You will not be disappointed!

2022 is the year of Maverick City Music. Following the group’s recent GRAMMY win and historic mainstage performance, the record-breaking collective has been on a magnificent rise. Since then, they’ve performed mainstage at the BET Awards , and also alongside Diddy and Faith Evans , joined NPR’s Tiny Desk , and The View . Last month, they appeared on the TODAY Show for a performance and interview .

Disney Keys to the Kingdom Tour Review

By: Author Kristi

Have you had a chance to check out the Disney Keys to the Kingdom tour that takes you behind the scenes at the Magic Kingdom ? I consider it one of Disney’s hidden jewels that not everyone takes advantage of.

Today, our guest blogger Sarah from 2PawsDesigns is going to share her Disney Keys to the Kingdom Tour Review .

Walt Disney World isn’t just for kids.

My husband and I visited 3 times as a couple before we started a family.

One of the perks is being able to do things you wouldn’t normally do with young kids, such as taking one of Disney’s specialized tours.

After looking at our options, we decided on Disney World’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour.

Keys to the Kingdom Tour in Disney

The Disney Keys to the Kingdom tour is a 5 hour walking tour offered to guests ages 16 and older that takes you behind the scenes in the Magic Kingdom.

Tour guests get taken through doors that lead from Main Street shops into the hidden world of Disney that helps run the park.

Cinderella Fountain found in Magic Kingdom

Keys to the Kingdom Tour Experiences:

  • Seeing where parade floats are create & stored.
  • Spotting characters in partial costumes
  • Going through the Utilidor (secret area underneath the park allowing people and items to move seamlessly through without guests ever catching a glimpse).

Hidden Mickey on Gate at Haunted Mansion

The cast member leading our tour gave us a bit of Walt Disney World history, answered all of our questions, shared details about a few unique items such as facts about the Magic Kingdom castle , stories about Tinker Bell “flying” from the castle at night, and where to find a few hidden Mickeys that we might have otherwise missed.

Notice that I have no photos to share of the behind the scenes part?

That’s because absolutely no photography is allowed (this includes cell phones).

You can visit and see during the tour, but understandably, Disney likes to keep behind the scenes details a bit of a secret.

Great Tour Very Informational & Fun

We had a great time doing this tour. As frequent visitors since 1974 this was a great addition to our most recent trip. While behind the scenes we even got to see the parade being stages and Maleficent spit fire at us. Our guide was great with lots of information. The tour is long but you wouldn't know it, there are lots of stops for breaks and a lunch break too. We were able to ride 2 rides and have one experience. Of course the utilidor portion was pretty amazing to see. No pictures allowed but i have my memories. (fireworks photo, just because)

kingdom tour tour

Too long. Boring tour guide. Some information not factual. Disappointed! My two adult sons and I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour today. It was five hours. But could have been condensed to three. We took multiple bathroom and “count people” breaks. We rode Tike Room ride, Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. We could have done this through our regular park admission. Why pay double? The lunch is a basic hamburger or taco or salad plate at Peco Bills. Nothing special. We toured the back area and underground area. Kind of interesting, but really no Wow factor. What bothered us is that our party is well- versed in everything Walt. Our tour guide gave information that was not factual. Stuff that was rumored but debunked time and time again. Emily Elizabeth tried but was young and rehearsed. We went through the paces, but there was no passion. I kept looking at mu watch. As a point of comparison, we took a shorter, two-hour tour a couple of years ago that was wonderful. Disney has since discontinued it, sadly.

If you are a Disney fan of a certain age, and have been lucky enough to visit the parks (multiple times in my case) then this tour offers something unique and fascinating - the chance to go behind the scenes and see the inner workings of the Magic Kingdom. I'm deliberately holding back on detail because I refuse to spoil anything, but our tour guide Aaron was knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient and kind with the whole group - making sure we were well fed, watered and comfortable throughout the 5 hour walking tour (which felt like 30 minutes). NO photos are allowed of backstage areas though - this is a very strict rule. The tour was insightful, historic and will genuinely make you see Magic Kingdom in a different light. Highlight of my America trip of 2023.

Took my wife for her birthday. We are DVC and have been on many extra Disney experiences but never this one. We both enjoyed the tour, it was so much information about both the parks as well as those responsible, i.e. Walt and Roy plus a whole slew of others that many have never heard of yet were a huge part of WDW as well as Disney overall. Our 2 guides were Kaitlin and Calirose, these guides are an incrdible resource for information and together they conveyed much of that in expert fashion during the tour. Everything from the minite we arrived, through lunch, the backstage areas, and the utilidors (aka tunnels) was great ! Through their personal experiences and various positions held within the company they were able to really give a complete picture of what it might be like to work for the company. The little details that they were able to point out and probably go unnoticed to the average park goer were amazing and shows the extent that Disney goes to in regards to detail. Lunch at Pecos Bills was also included and the food was very good asnd enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour to all, but especially folks who visit Disney often. You'll be amazed at the stuff you didn't know.

First of all a big shout out to Dallas our tour guide. Lovely, very knowledgable, friendly and the man responsible for our great tour. I don’t want to say too much and spoil things for anyone, but my daughter and I both really enjoyed this today. Lots of back stage access and general attention to detail pointed out that’s so easy to miss. I’d totally recommend this tour to anyone.

My mom and I went to Disney World to catch the last of the 50th celebration. We have visited several times throughout my life so we were looking for different activities to do that we wouldn’t want to do when we come with kids. This tour was fabulous! Our tour guide Alex was amazing and knew so much history of Disney and the parks. I don’t want to ruin the surprises of the tour but just know it’s more than just walking around. We took the earliest tour of the day so we even got to be backstage before Adventureland opened to guests. It rained pretty hard at one point and Alex did his best to keep us dry when he could. Doing the earliest tour of the day was stressful to get there on time. Our tour was at 8 and they said to meet in the town square by 7:45. The park opened to resort guests at 8:30 so Main Street opened at 7:45. The bus line at our resort was super long so we took an Uber to the TTC and then had to take the ferry was the monorail wasn’t working yet. Luckily we hit the opening gates just as they opened another turnstile so we made it to the check in center around 7:50. I probably would book one of the later times if possible if the park doesn’t open until 9 the day you are going. Some other reviews were disappointed but I would highly recommend this tour!

Maverick City Music was founded in 2018 as a music collective and a record label. Founders Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay desired to create a space for people “that would otherwise live in their own separate worlds.” Together, the collective aims to spread the gospel. Moreover, Brown and Jay wanted to push boundaries and explore creativity for gospel music, which was otherwise trapped within the margins of traditional church music.

Since 2020, the group has released six live albums and seven EPs. Their 2021 album, Old Church Basement (with Elevation Worship), peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and Top Gospel Albums chart. Meanwhile, their 2021 EP, Move Your Heart, also peaked at number 1 on the Top Gospel Albums chart. In 2022, Maverick City Music won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Old Church Basement.

Maverick City Music’s co-headliner, Kirk Franklin, has had many accomplishments in the gospel music scene. The “Reigning King of Urban Gospel” has won 23 Dove Awards, 16 Grammy Awards, and one American Music Award. Some of his most notable awards include Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, Urban Album of the Year, Gospel Artist of the Year, and Best Gospel Song/Performance.

Together, Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin will bring their brand of contemporary gospel music to Tampa Bay. Moreover, the Kingdom Tour also features Jonathan McReynolds and Housefires as special guests. Get your tickets now to experience this summer’s most inspirational gospel concert!

Country trio the Castellows will open all dates.

This isn’t the first time the quartet of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Philip Sweet shared the stage with Sugarland, the reunited duo of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush.
