The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe in black on a wooden surface

1. Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

This three-in-one charging pad from Belkin is my current favorite wireless charger. It offers 15W MagSafe charging for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, as well as fast charging for the Apple Watch 7 and regular wireless charging in an AirPods-sized recess, meaning all my Apple mobile devices could charge simultaneously from a single charging brick. That brick comes included too, so I didn't have to go rooting around in a cupboard for one with the correct wattage.

The only thing holding this charger back from perfection is its price, which is quite high. Also, the use of MagSafe and the Apple Watch charging cradle means this isn't a great pick for Android users, although as you'll see from other entries on this list, you've still got some good choices.

Apple MagSafe charger on an iPhone 12

2. Apple MagSafe charger

As an iPhone 14 owner, Apple's MagSafe charger made wireless charging ridiculously easy for me. The magnets built into the charger and the back of the phone mean the two easily snap together and start the charging process.

You can charge at up to 15W on most iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 models if you have a 20W charging plug at the other end, which fortunately I do. However, if you own an iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 13 mini, then that's limited to 12W. That's still faster than basic Qi wireless charging though, and it remains just as convenient no matter which model you own.

Although my AirPods don't have magnets in the back, I was still able to charge them fine with the MagSafe puck. It will be even easier if you own a newer pair of AirPods Pro though, which now comes with a MagSafe-ready charging case. If you're a diehard Apple fan, this is probably the wireless charger for you.

The best wireless charger value

The Otterbox Wireless Charging Pad

3. Otterbox Wireless Charging Pad

The Otterbox wireless charger isn't much to look at, but it offers everything you could want from a universal charging pad. It's well-priced and comes with a compatible plug that'll deliver the maximum available power to your device.

About the only complaint we can make is that the design's kind of plain, but that's just the way Otterbox designs its products. It's compact, features a convenient light to indicate charging status and a rubberized square in the center of the pad to avoid items sliding around. The lengthy included cable makes sure you can place the pad almost anywhere you could want it too.

The best wireless charging stand

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1) with cardboard boxes

4. Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1)

Even if you're not moving house , this three-in-one charger from Anker provides a flexible way to charge your devices whether you're at home or out and about.

The pocket-sized charger comes with a fold-out stand for your phone so you can charge it vertically or horizontally. And it's not just an iPhone this time around, since this charger's Qi2 compatibility means it should work with future phones from non-Apple brands.

However the compact design of the MagGo stand means it can't charge your phone in a flat position when you want to charge your earbuds or another device on the standard charging pad beneath. Plus having an Apple Watch perched on the fold-away cradle makes the space a little cramped too. But these are small prices to pay for a charger than works just as well on your hotel room nightstand as it does on your desk at home.

The best wireless charging power bank

The Otterbox Otterspot wireless charging base and charging bank, on an orange fabric background

5. OtterBox Otterspot Wireless Charger

None of the other best wireless chargers on this list are designed to be portable. The OtterSpot is though.

The basic package includes a standard wireless charging pad, plus a portable battery pack that also acts as a wireless charger. These stack together to stay powered on, but the battery portion was easy to slip into a bag when I wanted some wireless power on the go.

The system is quite expensive, particularly if you want to add more batteries to increase the size of the stack. But this is one of the best wireless chargers to get if you're often on the move, have many devices you want to keep charged at once, or like me just can't decide where best to put your chargers.

The best premium wireless charger

The Nomad Stand One wireless charger

6. Nomad Stand One

With a solid metal and glass body, the Nomad Stand One stayed solid wherever I put it, even when pulling a MagSafe-equipped iPhone off of it. Coming in either black or white, and with a matching integrated USB-C cable, it proved a great-looking addition to my desk.

Boy, do you pay for the privilege though. This is one of the most expensive chargers on this list, and only really works with iPhone 12 models and later. Also, that price doesn't include a charging brick, which is annoying since you need a 20W or more charger to get the full 15W speed. I'd find it hard to recommend to users who aren't taken with the design, or who have more modest budgets.

If you prefer a flat charging pad with the same gorgeous build quality, then there's the Nomad Base One for you to look at as well. And if you want a spot for your Apple Watch to charge as well as your phone, then you can upgrade to the Base One Max .

The best basic wireless charging pad

7. totallee wireless charger.

If you want a charger with few frills but still want it to look good, I think you'll be quite pleased with this Totallee charging pad. Its incredibly slim build meant I could take it and put it almost anywhere, and its textured black fabric surface let it fit into any room or spot I placed it.

The only major complaints I have is that there's no supplied charger, and there's a 10W maximum output which means I couldn't charge some phones (notably my iPhone) as fast as they are capable of. However, I can forgive these considering the price, which is fairly low.

The best wireless charger for iPhone and Apple Watch

Otterbox 2 in 1 charging station

8. Otterbox 2-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

If space on your desk is at a premium, this handsome charger from Otterbox gives you the most compact footprint we've come across for a 2-in-1 charger. With its silver and white finish, it'll match well with your other Apple gear, while the magnetic charging surfaces will keep your Apple Watch and iPhone secure as they power up. I particularly appreciated the 90 degrees of motion that the iPhone charger has, which lets you hold the phone at a specific angle (good for watching stuff while powering up), or charge non-magnetic accessories like a pair of AirPods by tilting it into its flat position.

I am not as much of a fan of the Apple Watch charger though. It's placed behind the iPhone charger, which hides the smartwatch and may make it hard to get to without removing the phone or going in over the top of the charger. Also, there doesn't seem to be support for the Apple Watch 7's faster charging standard, which may bother users who need a quick refuel before their next workout.

The most versatile wireless charger

A Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 wireless charger on a wooden table

9. Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2

It's fun just to play with the MagEZ Slider2, since the spinning mechanism that allows the stand to face any direction makes a satisfying clicking sound as it moves. But lock the stand in place and you've got a cleverly designed charging stand that's ideal for users wanting to power up their phone and several accessories in a limited amount of space.

The main iPhone charging section only powers your phone at 7.5W rather than the full 15W, but it's also a removable 4,000 mAh power bank in case you need a little extra juice on the move. The rear charging panel has a magnetically adjustable stand to help you charge your earbuds in the optimum position, plus there's another USB-C output for charging other devices. Keep in mind though that the "Power Dongle" accessory that you need to charge your Apple Watch is not sold with the standard version of the charger. If you need a space for your Apple wearable on the Slider2, make sure you buy the more expensive version that comes with it included.

The most stylish wireless charger

The Einova Charging Stone on a white desk

10. Einova Charging Stone

Your eyes don't deceive you, this really is a wireless charger made of marble. You can also get it in six other colors of travertine, sandstone, or lava stone if you want a different look for this simple but handsome charging pad. It's incredible that you get something that will easily sit in a living room or kitchen without looking out of place for this price.

There are two small issues I found with this charger. First, the integrated USB-A cable, although braided for durability, looks cheap compared to the rest of the pad, and is only 90cm (3 feet) long, making the places where I could put the charger limited by how close my power outlets were. Plus, the charger is only capable of 10W output, which while available with any compatible device, is a bit slow.

Which company's wireless charger is best?

It's hard to pick one company as the ultimate in wireless charging, but of the brands represented on this list, we recommend Belkin, Otterbox and Nomad as our favorite wireless charger makers. But there are plenty of good ones out there!

Which 3-in-1 wireless charger is best?

The top 3-in-1 wireless charger on our list is the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe. In fact, we like it so much it's our overall top pick! It may not be the top choice if you aren't an iPhone user though, since it does utilize Apple's proprietary MagSafe connection.

What is the fastest wireless charger?

This is going to depend on what device you're using. If it's an iPhone 12 or newer for example, then it'll be any device that uses MagSafe and provides 15W of charging. Other phone makers have their own standards, and often the only compatible chargers are the ones they sell themselves.

In terms of generic chargers, the fastest speed you'll get is the Qi standard of 7.5W. This isn't particularly speedy, but it'll work with any wirelessly chargeable smartphone, or other devices like wireless earbuds at slower speeds.

Is 10W or 15W better for wireless charging?

When it comes to smartphone charging, the general rule is the more watts, the faster your phone charges. Therefore 15W (the highest available form of the near-universal Qi charging standard) will power up your phone quicker. However, your phone may not support 15W wireless charging, meaning you're better off with 10W, which your device may well still support. It's good to check your phone's specs before committing to one charger or another so you're getting the best possible speeds.

How to choose the best wireless charger for you

The most important thing to look for when shopping for the best wireless charger for your needs is whether it's compatible with your phone. If a wireless charger is Qi certified, it should support your iPhone, Samsung phone or other Android phone. But note that the wattage support will vary from charger to charger. Most chargers support 10W charging for Android phones and 7.5W charging for iPhones, although if they support Apple's MagSafe standard, then you can charge an iPhone 12, 13 or 14 at up to 15W instead.

You'll also want to pay attention to whether a charger and charging cable are included in the box. If there is one included, look for a charger that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 technology, as these will ensure you get the maximum available speeds.

If you want to be able to charge multiple devices at once, there are some 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 chargers available that can juice your phone, earbuds and smartwatch all at once, but you're going to pay more for these accessories.

  • creachadair Thank you for a very helpful breakdown. One potential caution to other readers: I tried to purchase the Choetech Dual Wireless Charger recommended here. The recommendation is good on the merits, but the company itself is a little sketchy. They confirmed my order and charged me for the product, but never sent it. They were completely unresponsive to all support requests over a period of several weeks. I tried to cancel the order, to no avail. I eventually had to file a dispute with my credit card company. So if you are looking for a wireless charger, you may be better off steering toward a more responsive company. Reply
  • Pance Honestly a bit confused. The title states Best for IPhone AND Android. However, you in fact did the readers a biased disservice by ONLY focusing on IPhone, I kept reading to see when would honestly highlight Samsung and you didn't. In fact, if it wasn't good for IPhone you deemed it not good at all. Furthermore, in your beginning paragraph AND in the summary you again ONLY highlighted IPhone.... SMH PLEASE DO BETTER for your readers. Reply

How to wirelessly charge your iPhone

Learn how to wirelessly charge your iPhone with Qi-certified charging accessories.

What you need

You need an iPhone 8 or later .

Your iPhone features integrated wireless charging that allows for an easy and intuitive charging experience. Your iPhone works with Qi-certified chargers that are available as accessories and in cars, cafes, hotels, airports, and furniture. Qi is an open, universal charging standard created by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

Many Qi-certified chargers charge iPhone with the latest version of iOS at rates up to 7.5 watts. These chargers are available at the Apple Online Store and Apple Stores.

View a list of Qi-certified chargers .

Other Qi-certified chargers might vary in functionality and performance. If you have questions, contact the manufacturer.

Charge wirelessly

Connect your charger to power. Use the power adapter that came with your accessory or a power adapter recommended by the manufacturer.

Place the charger on a level surface or other location recommended by the manufacturer.

Place your iPhone on the charger with the display facing up. For best performance, place it in the center of the charger or in the location recommended by manufacturer.

Your iPhone should start charging a few seconds after you place it on your wireless charger.

the Charging icon

Wireless charging uses magnetic induction to charge your iPhone. Don't place anything between your iPhone and the charger. Magnetic mounts, magnetic cases, or other objects between your iPhone and the charger might reduce performance or damage magnetic strips or RFID chips like those found in some credit cards, security badges, passports, and key fobs. If your case holds any of these sensitive items, remove them before charging or make sure that they aren’t between the back of your iPhone and the charger.

If your iPhone isn't charging or is charging slowly and your iPhone has a thick case, metal case, or battery case, try removing the case.

If your iPhone vibrates—when it gets a notification, for example—your iPhone might shift position. This can cause the charging mat to stop providing power to your iPhone. If this happens often, consider turning off vibration , turning on Do Not Disturb , or using a case to prevent movement.

Depending on the charging mat you have, you might hear faint noises while your iPhone charges.

Your iPhone might get slightly warmer while it charges. To extend the lifespan of your battery, if the battery gets too warm, software might limit charging above 80 percent. Your iPhone will charge again when the temperature drops. Try moving your iPhone and charger to a cooler location.

Your iPhone won't charge wirelessly when connected to USB. If your iPhone is connected to your computer with USB, or if it's connected to a USB power adapter, your iPhone will charge using the USB connection.

With iPhone 15 models, if you're in the European Union or in a country or region that's part of the European Free Trade Association, the first time that you use a wireless charger, you'll get a notification. Mandated by the EU, the notification says that wireless charging might use more power than wired charging.

Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging provides optimal magnetic alignment for faster, more efficient charging. MagSafe wireless charging includes technologies that reduce energy waste when compared to other wireless charging methods. Learn about charging with the MagSafe Charger and MagSafe Duo Charger .

The Best Qi Wireless Charger for iPhone and Android Phones

Multiple Qi wireless chargers that we tested to find the best, shown together with a smartphone and a notebook.

By Sarah Witman

Sarah Witman is a writer focused on batteries and charging accessories. She has spent countless hours charging, discharging, and recharging batteries.

If you’ve grown weary of cables—each day an ouroboros of perpetual plugging and unplugging—wireless chargers are a convenient way to juice up your phone (or other compatible device), even if they’re slower than wired chargers.

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe is the best wireless charger because it charges iPhones and Android phones faster than the competition. And, despite being one of the cheapest models we tested, it’s equipped with premium features, like MagSafe capabilities, a built-in stand, and a 6.6-foot USB-C power cable.

Everything we recommend

safari wireless charger

Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe

The best qi wireless charger.

This wireless charging pad can fast-charge the iPhone 15 and other compatible devices. It doesn’t come with a wall adapter, but it has a long power cable, MagSafe support, and a built-in stand.

Buying Options

Upgrade pick.

safari wireless charger

Zens Magnetic Nightstand Charger

A sturdier option for the nightstand or desktop.

This wireless charger has MagSafe capabilities and a built-in phone stand that’s especially topple-proof. It comes with its own wall charger, but it’s on the bulkier side.

How we picked

We required each Qi charger to be rated for at least 7.5 W charging speeds, but we gave preference to those supporting up to 15 W.

We focused on models with good build quality and useful features, like MagSafe compatibility or a built-in stand.

We favored models with USB-C input, since they can be easily paired with any sufficiently powerful USB wall charger.

We preferred Qi chargers that have been tested and certified for safety and standards compliance by the Wireless Power Consortium .

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe is the best Qi (the predominant wireless-charging standard) wireless charger for a single device. It’s rated to charge at up to 15 W (that’s faster than many models, especially in this price range), and it offers the convenience of MagSafe to compatible devices.

It also has a handy built-in stand, and the included power cable is lengthy, ruggedly built, and has an attached cable tie to keep it neatly coiled for travel or storage. It’s made by a well-established brand with great customer support, and it has a two-year warranty.

We have a few quibbles with this model, but they’re minor. It doesn’t come with a wall adapter, so you have to supply your own USB wall charger . And the USB-C power cable is non-removable, so you can’t swap it out if it gets damaged.

Charging speed: rated at up to 15 W (we measured up to 10.9 W) Input port: n/a Included in the box: magnetic wireless charger with permanently attached 6.6-foot USB-C cable and cable tie

If you want a wireless charger with an extra-sturdy stand for your desk or nightstand, the Zens Magnetic Nightstand Charger is your best bet. It costs more than our top pick (twice as much, as of this writing) and takes up more room. But this added bulk, as well as the four rubber feet on the bottom, make it less likely to slide off your tabletop or topple over during a video call.

This model comes with its own wall charger, which is completely removable from the body of the unit. It also includes two international plug adapters, so you can use the charger in the EU or UK as well as the US. But because the wall charger has a barrel-shaped DC connector, you can’t easily replace it if it breaks or swap it out for a (likely more compact) USB wall charger.

It charges a little slower than our top pick: Both models are rated for 15 W, but we measured a maximum of 10.9 W with the Belkin and 7.7 W with the Zens. This shouldn’t be a big issue for most people, though, especially for charging overnight or throughout a workday.

Despite these trade-offs, this model is worth the splurge if you plan to set up your wireless charger semi-permanently in one spot. It’s also backed by a longer warranty than our top pick, giving you up to three years of coverage, and it has an additional safety and compliance certification .

Charging speed: rated at up to 15 W (we measured up to 7.7 W) Input port: DC Included in the box: magnetic wireless charger, 24 W proprietary wall charger, two international plug adapters

The research

Why you should trust us, who this is for, how we picked and tested, our pick: belkin boostcharge pro portable wireless charger pad with magsafe, upgrade pick: zens magnetic nightstand charger, other good qi wireless chargers, the competition.

I’ve been a science writer for over a decade, and I’ve covered a wide variety of topics, from particle physics to satellite remote sensing. Since joining Wirecutter, in 2017, I’ve reported on electric vehicle chargers , rechargeable AA and AAA batteries , surge protectors , and more.

This guide builds upon the reporting of Wirecutter’s Nick Guy, who has reviewed mobile accessories since 2011.

A wireless charger can be used to charge any electronic device with Qi (pronounced “chee”) capabilities, including all current iPhones, most Android phones, and many wireless earbuds, smart watches, fitness trackers, and other wearables. Rather than physically plugging in a cable every time your battery is running low, a wireless charger allows you to simply set down your device in the right spot to juice up.

The best Qi wireless chargers also have MagSafe and/or Qi 2.0 (Qi2) capabilities, using internal magnets to more precisely align your Qi-compatible device with the charging pad and form a firm connection. This lets you pick up and use your phone while it’s charging wirelessly, or you can toss it in your bag if you have a portable wireless charger . It also enables a more energy-efficient (and often faster) charge.

In ideal conditions, regular Qi chargers can reach outputs up to 7.5 W, while MagSafe and Qi2 allow you to get up to the maximum 15 W wireless charging speeds. (So far, however, no charger has reached full 15 W speeds in our testing.)

If you have an iPhone 12 or newer, or a set of AirPods or AirPods Pro from 2021 or later, you can take full advantage of MagSafe and Qi2 capabilities. (We expect to see a Qi2-capable Android phone soon .) You can also add magnetization to any Qi-compatible phone with a magnetic case or a ring-shaped adapter , though, due to the added resistance, these typically can’t achieve top wireless charging speeds.

To get the fastest possible charge, you still need to use a cable. Most basic USB wall chargers can charge an iPhone or Android device at least 30% faster than any Qi charger, and an 18 W or 20 W USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger paired with the right USB-C cable can charge nearly 50% faster. So you need to consider—depending on the devices you have and what you use them for—whether sacrificing some power for the added convenience of wireless charging is a worthwhile trade-off.

If you’ve fully embraced the cord-free lifestyle, and you want to charge two or more Qi-capable devices simultaneously, we have a separate guide to multi-device wireless charging stations . We also have guides to the best wireless power banks and wireless car mounts for on-the-go charging.

Two of our favorite Qi wireless chargers that we tested, shown together with a smartphone.

We scoured the sites of major retailers, attended trade shows, and read online user and editorial reviews to find the most beloved and widely available brands. We then narrowed our testing pool based on the following criteria:

  • Charging speed: We focused on chargers that can provide a fast charge to most phones. The latest Qi standard supports charging speeds of up to 15 watts (9 volts, 1.67 amps), but 7.5 W and 10 W chargers are still common. Since 5 W chargers are slower, we considered them only as a low-cost option, and we didn’t find any worth recommending.
  • Design: This criterion includes not only how the charging pad looks but also the addition of extra features, such as charging-indicator lights, grippy MagSafe and/or Qi2 capabilities, and a built-in stand to watch movies or make video calls.
  • Power source: For single-device wireless chargers, we preferred models with USB-C input because they can be easily paired with any sufficiently powerful USB-C wall charger (and some even come bundled with such a charger). We also considered models that come with their own proprietary wall charger, though cords with unique plugs are more difficult and expensive to replace.
  • WPC certification: We gave preference to chargers that have been certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) , an industry group with more than 220 members, including device manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung, accessory makers such as Belkin and Mophie, and others. For a charger to be certified by the WPC, it must be submitted to an authorized test lab and found to be both safe and in compliance with the Qi standard. If a wireless charger isn’t certified, that doesn’t necessarily mean the charger is unsafe or noncompliant, but it’s still prudent to choose something that has been verified.
  • Brand reputation: We considered models only from companies that we knew had a good reputation for warranty coverage and customer support. Even if a charger is WPC-certified, you have no guarantee that it will never have a problem, and you should be able to get help if you need it.
  • Price: The most expensive single-device charger we selected for testing was $100, but many sell for $30 or less and provide similar performance. We tested pricier options only if they could add an extra feature or capability that you don’t typically get with cheaper models.

We tested the performance of each Qi charger by putting each fully drained phone (we used an iPhone 15 and a Motorola Moto G) into airplane mode and then placing it on the charging pad. If a charger came with its own wall adapter, we used it. If a charger came with only a USB cable, we plugged it into a 20 W USB-C wall adapter.

We measured the phone’s battery level after 30 minutes and then again after an hour had elapsed. Any reputable Qi charger will fully charge a phone in a few hours (and certainly overnight), so we focused on differences in short-term charging. We also measured each charger’s power output using the Charger Master iOS app to verify these results.

Finally, we spent weeks using the top contenders on a daily basis, assessing the overall user experience for bedside, desktop, and (when it made sense to do so) on-the-go wireless charging. We considered each charger’s look, feel, ease of use, and build quality, and the efficacy of any extra features and included accessories.

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad, our pick for the best Qi wireless charger.

We’ve tested dozens of wireless chargers, and the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe offers the best combination of key features: fast charging speeds, MagSafe compatibility, a built-in kickstand, and an elegant overall design. Plus, it’s affordable and made by a company we trust.

It charges devices quicker than competitors. Belkin’s charger is rated to deliver up to 15 W wireless charging speeds. Although it didn’t quite achieve those results in our testing, it still produced a faster charge than most models. In our charge tests, we measured up to 10.9 W, which was about 41% faster than with our upgrade pick from Zens.

It has MagSafe capabilities. Because it’s equipped with strong internal magnets, this charger can lock any MagSafe-compatible device firmly in place. This allows for more-efficient charging and reduces the risk of the device being accidentally knocked out of alignment. In our testing, our iPhone 15 snapped easily into place, began charging in under a second, and stayed securely on the charger when we picked up the phone to use it.

We saw similar results with a magnetic ring adapter and thin phone case over a 3rd Gen iPhone SE (which doesn’t have native MagSafe capabilities), but the connection wasn’t quite as strong. If you go that route, you should expect some sliding.

It has a built-in kickstand. If you like to prop your phone up for video calls or streaming your favorite shows, this charger has a small metal kickstand that can be easily flipped open for this purpose. And if you have an iPhone with StandBy Mode , you can use your phone as a desk clock, calendar, and more without running down the battery.

Rear view of our Belkin pick for the best Qi wireless charger, showing cable and stand.

It has a sophisticated look and feel. Belkin’s charger has a streamlined shape, and it’s compact enough to slip into a pocket or cable organizer . Its USB-C power cable is 6.6 feet long, encased in braided-nylon fabric, and it has an attached silicone strap to keep the cable in a tidy coil for travel or storage. It weighs just 3.5 ounces (including the cable and cable tie), which is lighter than a mixed fruit cup .

It’s a safe buy. We’ve recommended numerous Belkin products over the years, and the company has consistently offered great customer support. If you have any issues with this charger, it’s backed by a two-year warranty.

It’s inexpensive. At this writing, our pick costs $30, making it one of the cheapest options we tested.

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • Compared with those of other models we tested, like our upgrade pick , the Belkin charger’s built-in kickstand isn’t the sturdiest. But it blends in seamlessly with the back of the charging pad, and it’s easy to use (if not entirely topple-proof).
  • Since the input cable is permanently attached, you don’t have the option to swap it out for another (possibly better) cable. But on the upside, the built-in cable is long, ruggedly built, and powerful.
  • It doesn’t come with a USB wall charger , so you’ll have to supply your own (but chances are good you already have one at home that will work).
  • It’s not WPC-certified, but that’s true of many of our top contenders. Plus, it performed well in our testing, and it is made by a reliable brand.

The Zens Magnetic Nightstand Charger, our upgrade pick for the best Qi wireless charger.

The Zens Magnetic Nightstand Charger costs more than our top pick, charges a bit slower, and has a bigger footprint. However, it has an incredibly sturdy stand, so it’s a better option for watching a movie in bed or taking a video call at your desk. This charger is worth the splurge if you plan to park your wireless charger semi-permanently in one spot.

It’s slower than our top pick, but it’s faster than most other wireless chargers. Like the Belkin charger, this one is rated to output up to 15 W but fell short in our testing. Compared with the 10.9 W we measured with the Belkin, we saw 7.7 W with the Zens charger.

That means it will charge your devices a bit more slowly than our top pick, but you likely won’t notice the difference—especially if you’re primarily using it to charge your phone overnight or during the workday.

It has MagSafe capabilities. Like our top pick, this model has internal magnets to better align compatible devices on the charging pad, reduce slippage, and let you use your phone while it’s charging. In our testing, this feature worked just as well as it did in the Belkin BoostCharge Pro.

It’s heavy but sturdily built. This model is heavier than most single-device wireless chargers—it weighs just over half a pound, not including the wall charger. But that weight keeps it from sliding around on your table or desk, and it seems solidly built overall. It also has four small, rubbery feet for extra grip.

Rear view of our Zens upgrade pick for the best Qi wireless charger, showing cable and stand.

It has an especially topple-proof stand. Its round charging pad can be flipped up to form a stand for your phone, and it’s much more robust than the toothpick-esque kickstands that most models (including our top pick) have. You can also adjust the viewing angle, which is rare for these stands.

It has a hidden compartment. Zens charger has a small divot underneath that’s lined with a grippy material, which (when the stand is upright) can be used as a handy catch-all for small items like hairpins, rings, paper clips, or a set of earbuds.

It comes with its own wall charger (but it’s not our favorite). This model comes with its own wall charger, so you don’t have to supply your own, as you do with our top pick.

Unlike that of our top pick, this model’s cord can be removed from the base, so you can use it as a non-charging phone stand if you have a full battery and want more mobility. Plus, it’s one of the few options we’ve seen with swappable international plugs. So you can use it while traveling in the EU or UK without having to buy an extra adapter.

However, the included wall charger is on the bulkier side, and since it has a barrel-shaped DC connector—rather than, say, USB-C—you can’t easily replace it if you lose or break it. And since it doesn’t come with a cable tie, as the Belkin model does, the cord is more prone to tangling.

It’s pricey, but it offers extra peace of mind. As of this writing, the Zens charger costs $60, which is twice the price of our top pick. On the upside, though, it’s WPC-certified (our top pick and other top contenders are not). And its three-year warranty is longer than most, so you have even more time to reach out to the company if issues arise.

If our upgrade pick is unavailable, and you’re willing to spend a bit more on a similar model: Get the Peak Design Wireless Charging Stand . Like the Zens charger, it has MagSafe capabilities, and both are rated for up to 15 W wireless charging speeds (we measured 7.3 W in our testing, close to the Zens charger’s 7.7 W).

Made almost entirely of metal, it’s sturdily built and has a sleek look. A grippy layer of rubberized material over the charging pad keeps even non-MagSafe phones relatively stable while charging, and two strips of a similar material on the bottom of the unit provide extra grip.

Much like Zens charger’s version, this charger’s stand lets you adjust the viewing angle, and the base has a small indent to hold an AirPods case or other oft-misplaced objects. While nonessential, these features are especially handy for a stationary nightstand or desk setup.

The Peak Design charger doesn’t come with its own wall adapter, but a 6.6-foot USB-C cable is included in the box, as well as a few adhesive clips to help you reduce cord clutter. It lacks WPC certification, but it is made by a reputable brand with good customer support. This charger is a great alternative if the Zens model is unavailable, or if the price ($80 at this writing) drops significantly.

If you want more color options than you get with our picks, and if you don’t mind a model that’s more prone to smudges and backed by a shorter warranty: Get the ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger . Like our picks, it has MagSafe capabilities, and it’s rated for up to 15 W wireless charging speeds (we measured 8.3 W, which splits the difference between our picks).

It’s super sleek and compact, so it’s ideal for travel. It’s also relatively sturdy, made mostly of aluminum. It has a small built-in kickstand, and it includes a 5-foot removable USB-C cable in the box (but no wall charger).

The glossy surface of the charging pad attracts fingerprints and other smudges easily, but it’s not overly noticeable. It also comes in more colors than most (silver, black, and blue, as of this writing).

It’s not WPC-certified, and the one-year warranty is on the shorter side, but that should still be sufficient time to use it in your daily life and ensure you don’t have a dud. It’s also inexpensive: $20 at this writing.

This is not a comprehensive list of models we’ve tested. We have removed discontinued models and those that no longer meet our criteria.

The Anker PowerWave Sense Pad Alloy charged phones rapidly in our tests, and it comes with a cable and a Quick Charge 3.0 wall charger. We also like its metal body and fabric-lined surface, but it lacks a built-in stand, and it costs more than otherwise comparable models.

The Anker PowerWave Stand is a former pick, but comparable options with magnetic wireless charging and/or more power are available for about the same price.

Anker’s PowerWave II Pad and PowerWave II Stand charge more slowly than competitors, and they come with a proprietary AC charger that you can’t replace as easily as a USB charger if necessary.

The Apple MagSafe Charger is sleek-looking and compact, but it charges at a slower rate than cheaper models we tested.

The Belkin BoostCharge 15W Wireless Charging Stand (WIB002) had inconsistent charging rates in our testing, and it offers no benefits over faster and/or cheaper options.

Belkin’s BoostCharge 10W Wireless Charging Pad (WIA001TT) and BoostCharge 10W Wireless Charging Stand (WIB001TT) performed well in our testing, but other models we tested offer magnetic wireless charging and/or more power for about the same price.

The Belkin BoostCharge 7.5W Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad (WIA005TT) performed well in our testing, but it has a non-removable cable, and other models we tested offer more power for about the same price.

The ESR HaloLock Magnetic Wireless Charger is a pad-style charger with built-in magnets, so if you’re using a MagSafe-capable phone, you don’t have to worry about misalignment. It was far slower than other chargers in our testing, though, hitting only a 30% charge after an hour. It also lacks a power adapter.

The Native Union Drop Wireless Charger and Nomad Base Station Stand both have a luxurious fabric exterior, but they’re only rated at up to 10 W, lack Magsafe/Qi2 functionality, and cost more than most models we tested.

The Nimble Apollo Wireless Pad is made of recycled materials, includes a 20 W wall adapter, and performed well in our charging tests. However, it costs more than chargers we tested with more power and/or WPC-certification.

The OtterBox 7.5 W Charging Pad for MagSafe has a similar range of features as our top pick, and at this writing both models cost the same. However, the OtterBox model has slightly slower charging speeds (we measured up to 6.2 W in our testing), and it lacks a built-in kickstand.

The OtterBox Wireless Charging Pad 15W 78-80954 and the Zens Single Fast Wireless Charger Slim-line both performed well in our testing, but other models with MagSafe/Qi2 support are available for about the same price.

The Samsung EP-NG930 is a former pick, but it’s slower than other models and doesn’t look as nice.

The Satechi USB-C Magnetic Wireless Charging Cable performed well in our testing, but it doesn’t come with a wall adapter, and it costs about the same as otherwise-comparable options.

Zen’s Built-in Wireless Charger 10W (ZEBI03W/00) and Built-in Wireless Charger 15W (ZEBI04W/00) can be installed permanently on a desk or table, so you can lay your phone almost completely flat on the tabletop. However, they lack Magsafe/Qi2 functionality and cost more than most models we tested. We also think most people would prefer a portable option for travel or even around-the-house use.

The best wireless chargers for 2024

Get the right design for your needs..

Gone are the days when you needed to have a million cables to charge your phone, wearable, wireless earbuds and other mobile devices. Sure, you’ll still get the fastest charging speeds with a wired connection, but a wireless charging stand can make life much easier. Instead of fumbling with cables in the dark before heading to be, you can slap your phone onto a power pad and know it will be charged up when you wake in the morning. But figuring out which wireless charging stand or pad is best for you can be challenging with all of the options out there at various max speeds and with different designs. We’ve tested a bunch of the best wireless chargers out there right now and this guide will help you know what to look for when shopping, and recommend some of the best wireless chargers that are worth your attention whether you use an iPhone or Android smartphone.

Otterbox OtterSpot Wireless Charging System

Best overall wireless charging pad, belkin boostcharge pro portable wireless charger pad, runner up wireless charging pad, anker 315 wireless charger (pad), 10w max fast charging - compatible with iphone 15/14/13 series, samsung s22, airpods, samsung buds, google buds, and more - wall charger not included, best budget wireless charging pad, belkin wireless charging stand - 15w qi-certified charger stand for iphone, samsung galaxy, google pixel & more - charge while listening to music & streaming (power supply included), best overall wireless charging stand, spigen 15w super fast wireless charger stand - designed for samsung, runner-up wireless charging stand, anker 313 wireless charger (stand), qi-certified for iphone 15/15 pro/15 pro max/14/14 pro max, 10w fast-charging galaxy s20, s10 (no ac adapter), best budget wireless charging stand, what to look for in a wireless charger.

It’s tempting to buy a wireless charging pad optimized for the size and features of the phone you have right now. Resist that urge — this is an accessory you’ll probably use with multiple devices, and you don’t want to replace it every time you buy a new handset. Instead, think about the phones you’re likely to use down the road. If you’re sure you’ll use iPhones for a long time, an Apple MagSafe charger will be faster and more convenient. If you use Android phones or think you might switch sides, however, you’ll want a more universal design.

You’ll also want something that accepts a variety of device sizes. Certain wireless charging stations don’t work well with the iPhone 13 mini or other particularly small phones, for instance. If you think you may change phone sizes at some point, a pad charger is a wiser choice. With that said, you’ll still want to pay attention to any potentially limiting design features, such as prominent cradles and lips.

Also, consider wireless chargers with modular components. While you’ll have to invest exclusively in one company’s ecosystem, this gives you room to grow as your gadget needs change. You can add a charger for a second phone or smartwatch, and some systems even offer modular batteries to supply power on the go. Just be sure to look at a multi-device charger if there’s a very good chance you’ll expand your setup in the future.

Where and how will you use your charger?

Odds are that you have a specific use case in mind for your charger. You may want it by your bedside for a quick charge in the morning, or on your desk for at-a-glance notifications. You might even keep it in your bag for convenient travel charging. If you intend to place your charger on a nightstand, you’ll usually want a pad. With a stand, even a dim always-on display can prove distracting when you’re trying to sleep. You may also want a wireless charging pad if your phone will sit on a low table, as it might be easier to grab in a rush. Look at compact models if space is tight.

On your desk, you may prefer a stand to quickly glance at alerts or make video calls. Want something more travel-friendly? A puck or similarly minimalist design is typically best. You may also want a charger with a battery (either modular or built-in) for camping or whenever an outlet isn’t nearby.

Performance matters, to a point

Although wireless charging is usually slower than its wired equivalent, speed and wattage are still important considerations. A fast charger can supply enough power for a long night out in the time it takes to change outfits.

In general, a 15W charger is more than quick enough for most situations, and you’ll need a MagSafe charger to extract that level of performance from an iPhone. With that said, even the slower 7.5W and 10W chargers are fast enough for an overnight power-up. If anything, you’ll want to worry more about support for cases. While many models can deliver power through a reasonably thick case (typically 3mm to 5mm), you’ll occasionally run into examples that only work with naked phones.

There are some proprietary chargers that smash the 15W barrier if you have the right phone. Google’s second-generation Pixel Stand, for example, delivers up to 23W for a Pixel 6 Pro or Pixel 7 Pro . Optimized designs like this can make sense if you’re loyal to one brand. Be sure to get a charger that still works well with other manufacturers’ phones, though, as you don’t want to replace your accessory (or endure sluggish speeds) if you switch brands.

Quality, box contents and the little details

Once you’ve chosen the form factor and performance levels that meet your needs, you’ll want to consider the fit and finish. You’re likely going to use your wireless charger every day, so even small differences in quality could make the difference between joy and frustration.

If your charger doesn’t use MagSafe, textured surfaces like fabric or rubberized plastic are more likely to keep your phone in place. The base should be grippy or weighty enough that the charger won’t slide around. If you’re buying a stand, check that it won’t tip over or wobble.

Pay attention to what’s included in the box. Some models don’t include power adapters, and may even ask you to reuse your phone’s USB charging cable. What may seem to be a bargain may prove expensive if you have to buy extras just to use it. Also, some cables and chargers are better than others. A USB-C charger is more future-proof, while braided cables may be less likely to break or tangle.

You’ll also want to think about the minor conveniences. Status lights are useful for indicating correct phone placement, but an overly bright light can be distracting. Ideally, the light dims or shuts off after a certain period of time. And while we caution against lips and trays that limit compatibility, you may still want some barriers to prevent your device falling off its perch on the charging station.

By now, you should know what to look for. While it would be impossible for us to test every charger, we’ve tried numerous models and have some favorites.

Best overall wireless charging pad: Otterbox OtterSpot Wireless Charging System

There’s no shortage of portable wireless chargers, but it’s rare that you can find one which is as well-suited to your desk as it is your bag. The Otterbox OtterSpot system is our top pick precisely because it’s so versatile. The base unit is stable, includes a power adapter and accommodates a wide range of phone sizes. But it really shines when you want to leave home. You can buy as many as three 5,000mAh portable batteries that optionally stack on top of the base to recharge, and serve as completely wireless chargers on the go. Those batteries can power wired devices through USB-C ports, too.

This isn’t the fastest charger given its 10W output, and the base alone is normally expensive at $55 (though it’s down to $38 as we write this). If you want a station you really can use everywhere, though, the OtterSpot is a top pick that can grow along with your needs.

Runner up wireless charging pad: Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad

It’s easy to find wireless charging pucks that are fast or portable, but rarely both — and certainly not as well-considered as Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad . Its extremely compact design not only offers 15W MagSafe charging (plus Qi charging when flat), but includes a kickstand that lets you watch videos while you power up. Add a long 6.6ft braided cable and this is an ideal charger whether you’re traveling or catching up on TV shows.

The emphasis on MagSafe may make the Belkin BoostCharge less appealing for Android devices. It’s a definite step up from Apple’s more affordable but simpler MagSafe Charger, however. And importantly, you have the choice of buying Belkin’s accessory with ($80) or without ($60) a power adapter.

Best budget wireless charging pad: Anker 315 Wireless Charger

If you just need the basics, Anker’s 315 Wireless Charger offers significant value from a well-known name. It tops out at 10W (7.5W for iPhones), doesn’t include a power adapter and relies on a microUSB cable, but it also costs only $15. Even if you have to buy an adapter, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

Best overall wireless charging stand: Belkin BoostCharge 15W Wireless Charging Stand

There’s fierce competition in the wireless charging stand space, and it’s easy to get a good 15W charger if you’re willing to pay. Belkin, however, is one of the few that promises truly solid value. Its $45 BoostCharge 15W Wireless Charging Stand costs less than some alternatives while including a power adapter in the box. The lip at the bottom will keep your phone stable, and dual charging coils let you use the device while watching a video in landscape mode.

There’s no MagSafe or other device-specific charging optimizations on this one. And like many wireless charging stands, this doesn’t officially support the iPhone 13 mini and similarly small handsets. But there’s otherwise little to complain about here — this is a no-nonsense power solution at a good price.

Runner-up wireless charging stand: Spigen Qi True 15W Super Fast Wireless Charger Stand

There aren’t many great options for wireless chargers that use Samsung’s fast power delivery technology, particularly if you want a stand. Thankfully, Spigen’s charger is up to the job. It delivers 15W to all Samsung Galaxy phones that support Super Fast Wireless Charging, and it’s a well-made (if unspectacular) perch that prevents your device from sliding around. The universal form factor works with other phone brands, too.

You’ll want to shop carefully. Some versions don’t include a power adapter, and some stores sell for less than the official $80. If you can score a good deal, though, this is an ideal way to charge your Galaxy device while providing a clear view of the always-on display.

Best budget wireless charging stand: Anker 313 Wireless Charger

Anker’s strong value in pad chargers also applies to stands. The 313 Wireless Charger tops out at 10W (5W for iPhones), doesn’t include a power brick and uses a microUSB cable, but it’s also $20. You can buy an adapter and still undercut the price of some equally competent alternatives. It can charge while your phone is in landscape orientation, too. You might want to look at competing products if they cost under $40 with an adapter included, but the 313 is otherwise difficult to top.

The best wireless chargers 2024: how to charge your iPhone and Android without wires

The best wireless chargers you can buy right now

Best wireless chargers

New phones don't come with a charger, so go for one of the best wireless chargers instead of picking up a wall wart.

Wireless charging is here to stay, and you can find it on all of the best smartphones , all around the home, and even built into new cars. We love wireless charging because there are no cords to trip over, and it’s so convenient to grab our phone and just go without fumbling.

All of the manufacturers we mention are trustworthy and comply with the wireless Qi standard that works with the best Android and the best iPhone devices, as well as a number of accessories like your wireless earbuds case, your smartwatch, and more. We recommend our favorite sample of the company’s work, but we encourage you to explore for more options.

We like Anker for simplicity and reliability. We like Nomad for style and substance. Belkin has been in the accessories game as long as anyone and has built a solid reputation. Otterbox is a familiar name in cases, and its wireless charging is equally trustworthy. Plus, we have solid options from phone makers Samsung and Apple , to complement the gear you own.

Now that wireless charging is more common, we’re seeing devices that want to become a welcome part of your home decor. We still have plenty of less expensive options that are simple and versatile, but if you want plush materials or a design that doesn’t look like a power station, we have a few great ideas to check out.

All wireless charging is slow compared to a wire, but you can look for higher wattage for a slightly faster charge. Some of our options work with more than one device, so you can charge an accessory or even more than one phone.

All of the chargers we mention, except for the Apple charger, work with any Qi-certified device from any phone maker, Android or iPhone. You’ll want to double-check your phone has wireless charging before you buy; it’s a feature that needs to be baked into the phone hardware, but even the best cheap phones often include it.

Anker 313 Wireless Charger Stand

1. Anker 313 Wireless Charger Stand

Specifications, reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

Anker makes a ton of great charging options, both wireless and wired, and we wanted to highlight what makes the company a great accessory maker. The Anker 313 wireless charging stand is simple and elegant, and best of all cheap.

Actually, cheap is the wrong word for Anker, because the products feel completely solid and durable. Anker products are inexpensive, not cheap. You can find premium chargers at the company store, but this wireless charging pad will run you less than $20 in the US.

It charges at 10W, which is fine but not the fastest. You can use your phone in portrait or landscape mode and the coils should still connect to charge.

Nomad Base Station Pro with 2 phones and earbuds

2. Nomad Base Station Pro

The Nomad Base Station Pro is the wireless charging pad of your dreams. While other pads made you hit a target and might stop charging if you jar your phone, the Base Station Pro has 18 coils and will find your device no matter where you place it. In fact, it will find up to three devices on the pad.

Nomad accessories feel luxurious and weighty, giving them an overall heft of quality. The pad has baked in computing with firmware that can be updated, so Nomad says it will improve over time.

If you want the best charging station to complement your fine decor and premium devices, the Nomad Base Station Pro is your pick.

Belkin Wireless Charging speaker

3. Belkin Wireless Charging Stand + Speaker

Belkin has been making accessories as long as we've been buying phones, so of course the company has some interesting options for wireless charging. We like to see devices that try to combine useful features, so the Belkin Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker is a cool idea.

You can position your phone in portrait mode to play music or flip it to landscape to watch a video while the speaker handles the soundtrack. The phone will charge while you're watching or bopping along.

Mophie Snap+ Wireless Stand

4. Mophie Snap+ Wireless Stand

If you're not an iPhone owner and you're just a bit jealous that Apple fans get a built-in magnet to stick to chargers (and wallets, and cases), Mophie has a solution with the Snap+ Wireless Charging stand, and the whole Snap family.

With Mophie Snap, you get a circular magnet that adhered to your phone or phone case. You don't need the magnet if you have an iPhone, and your iPhone will stick just fine with its MagSafe feature. Other phones like Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones will stick with the magnet and charge in place.

There's more to Mophie Snap than just this stand, too, so once you have a magnet affixed, you'll be able to stick your phone to a car vent, or other charging spots with Mophie accessories.

Samsung Wireless Charger Trio with phone watch and earbud case

5. Samsung Wireless Charger Trio

Finding a wireless charging pad that can handle a phone and an Apple Watch is easy, but the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad Trio lets you charge your Galaxy Watch in style. As one of our favorite smartwatches, we're happy the Galaxy Watch isn't being ignored with a combination accessory, even if you have to buy it from Samsung.

The Charging Pad Trio only charges up to 9W, but you can charge three devices, including your Galaxy phone, your Galaxy Buds in the wireless charging case, and your Galaxy Watch. Go, Galaxy, go.

For a device that charges three others, the Trio isn't too expensive, and if you're all-in on Samsung, this is the best charger to keep bedside.

Moshi Sette Q with 2 phones

6. Moshi Sette Q dual wireless

The lovely Moshi Sette Q is quite a capable charging pad, don't let its stylish looks fool you. It can charge two devices and one of the charging spots is raised, making it easier to accomodate a watch with a curved band.

The Sette Q can charge up to 15W, so it's among the more powerful chargers on this list. It looks great in any setting, though that fabric cover might pick up stains better than plastic if you get your phone dirty often.

For a dual charger with such power, the Sette Q is also reasonably priced. If you like the look, Moshi makes a bunch of chargers of various sizes as well.

Otterbox Otterspot Wireless Charger

7. Otterbox OtterSpot

You know Otterbox for its cases that range from slim and durable to extremely tough and waterproof. The company also has a line of wireless chargers, and we think the Otterbox OtterSpot charger is worth a look. It's a compact, nice-looking charging pad, but it has expanding capabilities.

You can also buy portable battery packs that look like the OtterSpot disc, and the charger can charge a phone on top and a battery pack beneath simultaneously. In fact, you can stack a few batteries and charge them up for more power on the go.

Otterbox makes more conventional wireless chargers, but we like combining wireless power with battery packs for on-the-go convenience.

Apple MagSafe Charger

8. Apple MagSafe Charger

The Apple MagSafe Charger is best known as the new recommended method for charging the latest iPhone 13 . It uses the smartphone's magnets to properly align so you get the fastest charging speeds possible.

It doesn't feel entirely wireless as you basically have the magnetic charger clipped to the back of your phone but it's far less fiddly than using an actual charging cable.

While you'll get the most out of it in conjunction with an iPhone 13, it also works with older Apple devices and even Android phones too. If you need the official solution, this is the one for you.

Belkin Wireless Charging Stand  »

phone wireless charging

Offers 15 watts wireless charging for iPhone and Android devices

The stand allows dual-orientation charging

Continue to use your phone while it chargers

Has a slim and low-profile design

Affordably priced

Some users claim phone placement can affect charging speed

The 10 watts charging stand is significantly cheaper

The Belkin Wireless Charging Stand is the best overall, with support for fast charging speeds up to 15 watts. It has a dual-orientation design that lets you charge your phone in portrait or landscape mode, and even continue to use it while it charges. The stand props your phone up at a convenient angle for watching content or scrolling, and it works just as well with iPhones as it does with Android phones.

The price is relatively affordable, especially compared to some of the premium wireless charger designs. The 10-watt version of this charger is around a third of the price, so if you can put up with a slower charge speed, you can save money by opting for that one.

Anker 313 Wireless Charger  »

phone wireless charging

Very affordable

Supports iPhone and Android devices

Supports Qi-charging

Has a robust and versatile stand

Supports charging through phone cases

Uses a Micro-USB charge cable

Limited to 10 watts

The Anker 313 wireless charger is a super-affordable and super-capable wireless charger that can charge iPhone and Android devices with up to 10 watts. It's not as powerful as some high-end alternatives, but it’s plenty for casual charging your phone during the day or overnight.

The stand lets you continue to use the phone while it’s charging in both landscape and portrait mode, and you can use your iPhone in standby mode on the charger's stand while it’s charging. The charger uses a less-common micro-USB connector, but you can always use a USB-A or USB-C adapter if you need to. That minor limitation aside, this best affordable wireless charger available.

Anker MagSafe Charger Stand  »

phone wireless charging

Can charge three devices at once

Supports iPhones, Apple Watches, and Airpods

Supports fast 15 watts charging

Has a compact and portable design

Supports multiple charging angles for easy viewing

Officially certified by Apple for Apple Watch fast charging

Limited Android support

The Anker MagSafe charger stand is the ideal wireless charger for iPhone users, as it can charge up to three Apple devices at once, including an iPhone, a pair of Airpods, and an Apple watch. If you have all of these devices, you can put this wireless charger by your bed and have it charge everything at the same time without plugging anything in. They’ll charge quite fast, too, with up to 15 watts for any one device and 30 watts overall charging capacity.

The compact and portable design makes it easy to carry this charger around with you. Plus, you can adjust the angle of your phone while it’s charging thanks to the magnetic design of the charge point. It is expensive, but if you want the ultimate wireless charger for Apple products, this is it.

ESR Kickstand Wireless Power Bank  »

phone wireless charging

Includes 10,000 mAh battery

Supports truly wireless charging

Kickstand lets you use the phone while charging

Strong magnetic lock lets it charge your phone while in your pocket

Lightweight and portable design

The pass-through charging function lets you use it as a standard wireless charger

The USB-C port supports dual device charging

Wireless charging speed is limited to 7.5 watts

More expensive than most chargers

For an all-in-one portable wireless charging solution, the ESR Kickstand has everything you need. It packs up to 10,000 mAh of battery life inside its compact chassis, giving you enough power for close to two full charges of most modern smartphones. Its strong magnetic lock ensures that when you attach it to your MagSafe-compatible phone, it won't fall off. That means you can enjoy wireless charging in your pocket or bag while on the go.

You can also use the built-in kickstand to watch something on your phone while it charges, or video call someone. It’s not the fastest charger with only 7.5 watts of power for wireless charging, but you can charge up to 20 watts with a USB-C cable, or even charge two devices at once using both options at the same time. Pass-through charging support also lets you charge the power bank while you charge your phone.

Google Pixel Stand 2nd gen  »

phone wireless charging

Supports fast wireless charging up to 23Wg

A built-in fan helps keep phone temperatures down while it charges

The stand is sturdy and understated

Supports general Qi wireless charging

The stand lets you use your phone while it’s charging

The fan does generate some noise

If you have a Google Pixel phone, then you’ll benefit from this Google Pixel Stand Gen 2 wireless charger. It supports general Qi charging for supporting a range of wireless device charging, and it can supercharge your pixel phone at up to 23W, making this one of the fastest wireless chargers available. To deliver that much power it does require active cooling, and the fan does produce some noise, but it’s quiet.

The stand itself is sturdy and attractive, with an understated white paint job, and it holds your phone at a convenient angle for using it while it charges. It’s quite expensive compared to other wireless chargers, so if you aren’t using it with a pixel device, it may not be worth the cost, but for Google Pixel owners, it’s a seriously impressive charger.

Xiaomi Mi 80W Wireless Charging Stand  »

Extremely fast charging with Xiaomi devices up to 80W

A quiet fan keeps your phone and the charger cool

Supports vertical and horizontal charging

Indicator LEDs let you know when your phone is charging

Supports 120W wired charging

Only supports super-fast charging on Xiaomi phones

Top speeds are only supported by the flagship Xiaomi devices

If you want to charge your phone up as fast as humanly possible, then the Xiaomi Mi 80W wireless charging stand is way ahead of the competition. It comes with the ability to charge your phone wirelessly at up to 80W, or a larger USB-C device with a wire of up to 120W. This allows you to charge your phone up faster than ever before, getting it to full battery in well under an hour. The only catch is, the highest charging speeds are only supported by Xiaomi phones.

Worse still, even most Xiaomi phones only support up to 50W wireless charging, with only the flagship devices supporting the very top charging speed. Still, if you have one of them or plan to upgrade to one, this is the best wireless charger for you. It’s also attractive and compact, and the built-in fan keeps both your phone and the charger cool while it charges.

Tesla Wireless Charging Platform  »

phone wireless charging

Has an attractive, understated design

Supports charging multiple devices simultaneously

Supplies up to 15W wireless charging power per device

The stand has a magnetic attachment for easy-angled mounting

Supports all Qi-rated devices for charging

It’s made from premium materials

You can play your devices anywhere on the device and they’ll charge

Very expensive

Lacks any kind of super high-speed charging

The Tesla Wireless Charging Platform is a big, chunky wireless charger that can handle up to three Qi-supporting devices at once, giving them the full 15W of charging power each. It’s a solid, robust, and simple design, more suited to you throwing all your devices on at the end of the day, rather than placing them carefully so you can continue to use them while they charge.

The price is high, but that’s what you get with a premium device like this. It has excellent build quality and will last for years without damage, and it comes with a magnetic mounting system so you can angle your devices if you wish. It’s very attractive and understated and will fit in well with any other Tesla accessories you own.

The Bottom Line

Wireless chargers can come with all kinds of neat extras, but at their core, they should do two things and two things well: Charge your device and charge it fast. The best wireless charger overall is the Belkin Wireless Charging Stand. It outputs up to 15 watts for fast charging speeds and lets you charge your phone in portrait or landscape mode. Plus, you can even use your phone while it's charging. If you're on a tight budget, the Anker 313 Wireless Charger will get the job done for less money.

Things to Consider When Buying Wireless Chargers

Charging speed : Charging speed is arguably the biggest consideration when buying a wireless charger. Most can’t deliver the kind of power you get from standard wired chargers, but some of them can for specific devices. The standard wireless charging power is 5 watts, which means it takes several hours to charge a standard smartphone. 10-15-watt wireless chargers are becoming more common. If you want the ultimate in charging power, Google’s Pixel Stand lets Pixel phones charge at up to 23 watts for very fast recharging, and Xiaomi phones can use the Xiaomi Mi fast charger for up to 80 watts of wireless charging.

However, don't just look at the wattage number. “Typically, the higher wattage, the stronger the charge,” Isaacs explains. However, “It’s also particularly important to check if it has fast-charging capabilities, and it should mention it somewhere in the specs or on the box. Don't automatically assume that because it's got a high wattage that it's a fast charger.”

Compatibility with devices : Unlike USB-C ports, wireless chargers aren't universal or reversible. They can offer multiple orientations and placements for charging, though more affordable chargers can be very specific about where you place them, so ensure you check that before buying.

More importantly, make sure the charger supports your device. For example, a MagSafe wireless charger will work well with iPhones, but may not be compatible with devices that utilize Qi wireless charging. Other chargers are designed to fit certain devices in certain places and may be better designed for powering wireless headphones or your smartwatch instead of a smartphone, or vice versa. You need to consider the physical and digital compatibility of any wireless charger.

Qi-certification : Qi-certification ensures all appropriate safety standards have been met, which gives good peace of mind. Qi support isn’t the only wireless charging technology you need to consider, but if your smartphone or other device supports Qi charging, make sure any wireless charger you buy also supports it. It’s not necessary if you’re using a Pixel phone and the Pixel stand, for example, but for more general charging, having Qi certification does help improve the compatibility of your wireless charger with your device and others.

Size and portability : Most wireless chargers aren’t designed to be portable; they’re chargers, not power banks. However, some have built-in batteries and can be carried with you for charging on the move. Even for non-battery-powered chargers, size is important if you want to charge multiple devices at once or bring them with you while you travel. Some chargers can fold flat or have pop-out stands, which can be useful if you want to tuck them away somewhere when they aren’t in use.

Design and aesthetics : Most wireless chargers sit on a desk or table in your home or office. In that case, you want it to fit in with your decor, or at least not look like an eyesore. Some chargers have indicator LEDs which can be useful, but also annoying if you want a room to be nice and dark. Some come in different colors too, so consider the different aesthetic options before buying.

How We Chose The Best Wireless Chargers

Our contributor, Jon Martindale, spoke to several professionals familiar with wireless chargers in putting together this review. They included tech analyst Rebecca Isaacs, Pitchmarks founder Jake Taylor, and others. He also conducted in-depth research into every product recommendation, comparing user reviews, technical specifications, and third-party coverage to find the absolute best wireless chargers available. Features he looked at included charging speed, compatibility with other devices, QI certification, size and portability, and design and aesthetics.

Why Should You Trust Us?

Jon Martindale is a technology journalist with 20 years of experience reviewing and recommending products. He's written for many large publishers, including DigitalTrends, Forbes, and PCGamer, and has produced many in-depth product guides for U.S. News.

The first is to see what kind of wireless charging your device supports. If it’s something bespoke, like Xiaomi or Google Pixel’s charging specifications, then look for chargers that support those. If it’s the more generic Qi wireless charging, make sure the charger supports that, instead. If your device supports MagSafe, make sure the charger does too.

If you’re going to charge your device at night and pick it up in the morning, charging speed doesn’t matter much. If you want to put your phone down for a short, quick charge during the day, charging speed matters a lot. A 5-watt wireless charger will be relatively slow, while a 15-watt or higher charger can give you some substantial battery life from just half an hour of charging.

Some wireless chargers can power up multiple devices at once, others are portable with a built-in battery, while others allow wired and wireless charging at the same time. There are a wide range of chargers designed to let you use your device while charging, and others that are more set-and-forget.

All wireless chargers should have Foreign Object Detection (FOD), to prevent damage should something metallic end up on the charge plate. Additionally, Qi certification means the device meets stringent safety standards. You can look out for additional heat protection too, with some chargers having a built-in fan to help keep them cool. That is an additional point of failure, though, so be wary should the fan ever break.

Best MagSafe wireless chargers for iPhone 2024

Simon Jary

We’ve rounded up the best MagSafe, Qi2 and MagSafe-compatible magnetic chargers, from the plain pad to multi-functional (up to six devices charged) stands, and even the most colorful—from snap-on chargers and modular stands to foldable power bank and full desk mat.

Apple’s MagSafe technology, supported by all models of iPhone 12/13/14/15, presents a more efficient way of wirelessly charging compatible iPhones. MagSafe is the ring of magnets around the iPhone 12, 13, 14 and 15’s internal charging coil, which senses compatible accessories and magnetically snaps securely into the most efficient charging position with the right accessories. And you’re less likely to wake up to find your phone wasn’t correctly placed so didn’t charge at all!

Offering 15W power output, MagSafe charging is twice as fast merely compatible 7.5W magnetic wireless charging.

ESR Qi2 3-in-1 Watch Charging Set for Apple

safari wireless charger

Qi2-certified 15W MagSafe iPhone charging gives you safer, more reliable charging at faster speeds.

Power all 3 of your essential Apple devices together, declutter your desk or nightstand, and de-stress your daily charge at home, office and during travel. Compatible for MagSafe charging station support iPhone 15/14/13/12 series, AirPods Pro/3/2, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1, and Apple Watch SE 2/1.

A new Qi2 standard , supported by the iPhone 13/14/15 family (and unofficially the iPhone 12), now means that some non-MagSafe chargers are able to charge supporting phones at the full 15W—if they are certified for Qi2, of course. Qi2 is based on the same technology as Apple’s MagSafe so offers similar 15W speed charging.

We’ve started testing the new Qi2 chargers—read our Anker Qi2 MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station review —and the Qi2 charging speeds are close enough to MagSafe’s to be regarded as identical.

Made for MagSafe and Qi2 certification logos

MagSafe or Qi2 certification

Apple certifies MagSafe accessories to ensures that the output charging is 15W, compared to non-certified but MagSafe-compatible chargers that are usually just 7.5W. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device, a built-in magnetometer, and a compass to prevent interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging.

The new Qi2 certification means that such products should match MagSafe certification at a 15W charging speed.

In our tests, 15W Qi2 and 15W MagSafe chargers are evenly matched for charging speeds, and 7.5W MagSafe compatible chargers, as you might expect, take around twice as long—certainly in the early stages of charging.

Don’t rule out 7.5W chargers as they are often high quality and nearly always noticeably cheaper. “MagSafe compatible” is used widely to mean any accessory that includes a bunch of magnets.

Thankfully, Qi2 should greatly expand the number of fast 15W chargers and supporting devices, and we are seeing Qi2 chargers from power specialists such as Anker and ESR.

We have avoided the many cheap models found online and focused on the premium brands, while also including those that offer something different.

And, of course, the iPhone 12/13/14/15 models work with non-magnetic chargers, too; check out our roundup of the best wireless chargers for iPhone . We also have a round up of the Best MagSafe portable battery packs and power banks . And for many MagSafe chargers reviewed here you’ll likely still need a wall charger to power the—here’s our recommendations of the best iPhone chargers .

Multi-device magnetic chargers

The most basic form of MagSafe or magnetic charger is the simple pad that latches on to the compatible iPhone. Some pads feature a pop-out arm so the iPhone can be propped up while charging.

There are also products that can charge an iPhone and other Apple devices, such as an Apple Watch or wireless AirPods charging case, at the same time. Note that the AirPods case must be of the wireless variety, and the original AirPods case lacked this functionality. The base of a multi-charger could also be used to charge a second iPhone but mostly not magnetically and at 5W rather than 7.5W or 15W. Also see our round up of the Best Apple Watch chargers and stands .

We have tested a lot of magnetic chargers—MagSafe, Qi2 and Compatible—and here inform you which one will work best for you. There’s simple magnetic wireless chargers, multi-device chargers, travel chargers, car chargers and more.

Colors : White

The most obvious MagSafe Charger to buy for your Apple iPhone is, of course, the Apple MagSafe Charger. It’s the charger that Apple would have shipped with the iPhone if it did such things anymore.

It’s as minimalist a design as you’d expect from Apple–it looks a lot like a giant Apple Watch Charger.

You can also use it to charge your AirPods.

Its main advantage over the non-certified competition is its 15W charging power. It’s still half as fast as using a Lightning or USB-C cable, however, and if you are going to the bother of connecting this product to a wall charger, why not just use a Lightning (iPhone 12/13/14) or USB-C (iPhone 15) cable? You can fast-charge an iPhone to 50% battery in under 30 minutes using a cable, while it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge iPhone from 0 to 50% using even 15W MagSafe.

And the Apple MagSafe Charger is not perfect. It is too small and light to stay on the desk when you pick up your iPhone, making it a poor wireless charging pad. The 1m cable is far too short to comfortably charge and use your iPhone at the same time, or maybe stretch from a power socket to a nearby table.

Don’t forget that it still requires a USB-C wall charger—at least 20W recommended if you want the full 15W potential.

We think there are better MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible alternatives, so keep reading for our non-Apple recommendations.

Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget fast magnetic charger

Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget fast magnetic charger

  • Inexpensive

Output charging : 15W (Qi2)

Cable : 1.5m (5ft)

Colors : Black, White

Another basic magnetic charger, Anker’s MagGo Wireless Charger Pad works just like the Apple and Belkin chargers, and also at a fast 15W—although it’s Qi2 rather than Apple MagSafe.

It works just as well, though, and is one of the cheaper premium magnetic chargers.

The cable is a decent length at 1.5m—half again as long as that on the Apple MagSafe Charger pad, but not as long as on the Belkin.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe – Best simple MagSafe charger

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe – Best simple MagSafe charger

  • Long, strong cable
  • More expensive than Apple charger!

Cable : 2m (6.6ft)

Available in two predictable colors, the Belkin MagSafe Charger Pad is as fast as Apple’s Charger and comes with a longer cable and handy pop-up stand.

The cable is twice as long as Apple’s, which makes using the phone much easier when charging. It’s also thicker nylon-braided cable with a handy integrated silicone cable tie.

It is pricier than Apple, which is a surprise, so you’re paying a premium for the longer premium cable and the kickstand but we think it’s worth the extra if you must have a certified 15W MagSafe charger. Again, a straight cable connection will be faster but we like the kickstand, which you don’t get with a standard cable connection.

You can buy direct from Belkin with a 27W power adapter included or just on its own if you already have a wall charger to use.

ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with kickstand

ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with kickstand

  • Color options

Output charging : 7.5W (Compatible)

Colors : White, Black, Blue, Pink

This is a small, simple magnetic charging pad that has a kickstand that lets you prop your attached iPhone 12/13/14/15 up either in landscape or portrait mode for video viewing or hands-free FaceTime calls.

The cable length is reasonable at 1.5m.

It’s available in four colors, so is wildly more flamboyant than the other magnetic wireless chargers tested here.

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best 3-in-1 magnetic charger to save desk space

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best 3-in-1 magnetic charger to save desk space

  • 3-in-1 charging
  • 15W for iPhone
  • Fast charge Watch
  • Includes charger
  • Only in black

Apple Watch fast charge: Yes

Wall charger : 40W AC power adapter

Colors : Black

A 3-in-1 charger that can re-power iPhone, AirPods and Watch is a boon for Apple fans, but most of the products we’ve tested take up quite a lot of desk space. The stylish HiRise 3 Deluxe, as its name suggests, goes more vertical and so has a smaller footprint—handy for bedside tables and other places where a giant charging stand is less welcome.

It is fully Apple certified, so can fast-charge any MagSafe iPhone (iPhone 12, 13, 14 or 15 models but not SE) at 15W as well as fast-charge an Apple Watch (Series 7, 8, 9, SE and Ultra) at 5W and Apple AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation AirPods, and all AirPods Pro) at 7.5W.

It’s 6 inches (15.4cm) high, 3.4in (8.5cm) wide and 6.3in (15.9cm) deep. In comparison, the Belkin 3-in-1 is 13.5cm wide. For an even smaller footprint, consider the OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station, reviewed below.

The MagSafe iPhone charger can angle and tilt by 35-degrees, and hold the device in either landscape or portrait—so works well in iOS 17’s StandBy mode .

The base charges at 7.5W and can be used to power up AirPods or a second iPhone, and the Watch part fast charges at 5W.

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best 3-in-1 travel wireless charger pad/stand

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best 3-in-1 travel wireless charger pad/stand

  • Includes 40W charger

Cable : 1.5 m (5ft)

Power specialist Anker is one of the first companies to release Qi2-compatible chargers, and the foldable Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station is a great example of what we can expect from the latest technology.

It charges the iPhone (iPhone 13 and later) at 15W, and is also certified by Apple to fast-charge the Apple Watch, as well as Qi charge AirPods in a wireless charging case.

It is super compact, measuring about the length and width of a credit card (3.5×2.36 inches; 8.9×6cm) and an inch (2.5cm) deep, weighing 6.9oz (195g). The 5W Watch-charging module is tucked away on the underside (see above) and can lie flat or sit up at an angle for Nightstand mode.

The Qi2 pad raises to create a stand for your iPhone, in either portrait or landscape mode for StandBy mode. You can also charge an iPhone with the charger folded and the Qi2 pad on top. You need to unfold it only if you want to charge some AirPods or use the Qi2 pad as a stand.

There are certainly many cheaper 3-in-1 foldable chargers—for example, the $50 Kuxiu X55 3-In-1, reviewed below—but none at either 15W MagSafe or Qi2. You’ll also need to add a USB-C power supply to these cheaper 3-in-1 devices, while the Anker MagGo Charging Station ships with its own powerful 40W wall charger.

Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

  • Charges Watch and iPhone and
  • Can swap Watch for AirPods
  • Small footprint

Cable : 1,5m (5ft)

Wall charger : 30W AC power adapter

Colors : Aluminum

Not content with making our favorite 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger, the HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above, Twelve South has wowed us with this easily pocketable 2-in-1 charger that can handle iPhone and Apple Watch or iPhone and AirPods, charging two devices simultaneously.

It is fully Apple certified, so fast wirelessly charges the iPhone at 15W and the Watch at 5W. You can’t get faster wireless charging—note that wired charging is much faster for iPhones.

It’s a really clever, compact foldable size and offers MacBook-like styling. Unfurl the charger and the two wireless charging pads are revealed. You can fold 180 degrees and place the Watch in Nighstand mode. Flip it round, and you can set the iPhone in landscape StandBy mode.

Yes, it’s expensive but it does come with a super-compact 30W USB-C wall charger that comes with interchangeable international plug heads: US, UK, EU and AU/NZ.

Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic stand

Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic stand

  • 2-in-1 charging

Cable : 1.2 m (4ft)

Built to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and wireless AirPod case charger, the Anker PowerWave isn’t MFi certified and therefore doesn’t reach the 15W phone charging heights of the Apple.

Its 7.5W charging is fine if you have the time; if you’re in a real hurry you’d be better off using a cable than using a 15W certified MagSafe charger anyway.

The AirPods are charged at 5W, which is standard for all such multi-device magnetic chargers.

You get angled landscape and portrait modes with this good-looking stand from one of our favorite premium accessory makers.

The magnetic link is super strong so you don’t need to worry about the iPhone falling off even during re-angling.

Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

This 3-in-1 charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods has a small footprint, about the same size as the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above. It also matches that charging station in terms of charging speed. It’s fully certified for iPhone (so fast 15W) and Watch (fast 5W). Non-certified rivals will charge an iPhone at 7.5W and Watch at 3W. The lower charging pad is rated at 5W and can be used to charge your AirPods or a second phone, although not magnetically and much slower than the main MagSafe pad.

While this is an impressive 3-in-1 charger, we prefer the cheaper HiRise 3 Deluxe for its more flexible Watch charging module. It is a little taller, which some may prefer.

It does come in white, which might blend in with your environment better than the black-only HiRise.

It measures 6.7 inches high, 3.4in wide and 5.3in deep (16.9-x-8.6-x-13.4cm).

OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

  • North America only

Wall charger : 36W AC power adapter

Colors : Black or White

This fast-charging 3-in-1 charger is a little smaller than even the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe and Journey Trio Ultra, both reviewed above. It measures 5.6 inches high, and 4.6 inches both wide and deep (13.9-x-11.7-x-11.7cm).

It’s a great multi-device charger but is beaten by the other two fast 3-in-1 products, which both feature tiltable iPhone charging pads.

Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Best budget 3-in-1 charging stand

Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Best budget 3-in-1 charging stand

  • Small profile
  • Detachable Watch charger
  • Not Watch fast charge

Apple Watch fast charge: No

The Journey Rapid Trio 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, like the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe, has a small footprint for such a multi-device charger. It’s only a tiny bit larger than the HiRise 3, at 16.9cm (6.7in) high, 13.3cm (5.3in) deep and 8.6cm (3.4in) wide.

It is similar in technical specifications to the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed below, but lays out its charging points differently. This charger’s horizontal footprint is smaller.

It has some tricks up its sleeve, as its detachable USB-C Apple Watch charger means you can take it with you on your travels and simply plug it into a USB-C port—say on your MacBook—to charge your Apple Watch away from the charging stand.

Like the HiRise 3 Deluxe, the phone charging part can also tilt, unlike the more static 3-in-1 chargers reviewed here, for more flexible viewing angles—it can be set in either portrait or landscape mode.

Being just MagSafe compatible, the phone charges at 7.5W; the base at 5W, and the Watch part at 3W.

In North America only, Journey has a faster-charging model for an extra $30, the Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station with 15W iPhone charging and 5W fast Watch charging, reviewed above. The Watch module is not detachable on the high-end version, but the iPhone pad remains tiltable.

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 compact magnetic charger

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 compact magnetic charger

  • Includes 30W charger

Colors : Gray

This 3-in-1 MagSafe charger is certified by Apple, so offers full 15W wireless charging for iPhone 12/13/14/15 plus 5W for AirPods and 5W for Apple Watch.

Although on the heavy side, it’s super-compact and great for travel. The Watch charging part is hidden in the cube until you need it. It comes with a 30W USB-C wall charger with switchable UK and EU plug fittings that slide onto the US plug prongs.

Its tiny footprint means it takes up little space on your desk or bedside cable, too.

The stand works in landscape and portrait orientations but isn’t high. It does have adjustable viewing angles up to 60°.

A similar 3-in-1 charger from the same company is the A-frame Anker 737 MagGo , which can also simultaneously charge an iPhone (at 15W), AirPods and Watch. Aside from the shape, the only real difference from the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is that the slightly cheaper 737 doesn’t support fast-charging for the Apple Watch.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe 15W – Best designer magnetic charger

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe 15W – Best designer magnetic charger

  • Designer looks
  • 15W MagSafe
  • Fast Apple Watch charging

We’ve chosen this fast magnetic charger not because of its heroically long-winded name but for its designer good looks. It’s a minimalist 2-in-1 charging stand that can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and fast-charge an Apple Watch. The top pad can angle at up to 70 degrees.

Steve Jobs and Jony Ive knew that tech should aspire to timeless design, and it’s no surprise that Apple has chosen to stock the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Dock MagSafe charger in its  stores .

The dock’s organic looks are complemented by the two available neutral yet naturalistic colors: Charcoal and Sand.

There are other magnetic wireless chargers reviewed here that can do more and at lower prices, but this is one we’d proudly place on our designer desk to show off rather than hide away.

Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station – Best 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger pad

Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station – Best 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger pad

  • Foldable for travel
  • Super compact design

This 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger folds up extremely neatly into a compact and lightweight package that you wouldn’t really notice in a coat pocket. Of course, despite being wireless when charging your devices it still requires a wall charger (not included); it does comes with a USB-C cable.

The MagSafe charger is compatible so only 7.5W but the Watch does offer 5W fast-charging for your wearable.

The Watch module can lie flat or flip up for Nightstand mode—perfect for a bedside table. If you want a MagSafe travel charger with a stand, consider the Kuxiu X55 , reviewed below.

Kuxiu X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel charger pad/stand

Kuxiu X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel charger pad/stand

  • Pad and stand function
  • Super compact, lightweight design
  • Not as sturdy as some

Cable : 1 m (3.3ft)

Colors : White, Black, Gray

The Kuxiu X55 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger is a neat, portable way to charge all your Apple mobile devices—Watch, iPhone, AirPods—at the same time.

It’s special because it folds up into such a compact package—measuring 2.7-x-2.7-x-1.2 inches (6.8-x-6.8-x-3cm). Its closest alternative is the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger , reviewed below.

From a design and charging point of view, both are similar—and each has its advantages over the other.

In terms of design, the X55 is shorter but deeper. It is also 50g lighter than its rival travel 3-in-1: 147g compared to 197g. From a portability point of view, the X55 therefore wins but because of its weight and size the Evolved 3-in-1 is sturdier and less likely to tip back if at extreme angles. It can be set higher and is more adjustable.

In terms of charging, both are MagSafe compatible so can wirelessly charge the iPhone at 7.5W. However, the X55 can fast-charge an Apple Watch as its Watch-charging module is rated at 5W compared to Evolved’s 3W, which will therefore charge a Watch slower.

We appreciate the X55’s lighter weight and faster Watch charger. If you are going to use the stand part of the charger as a mainstay, then we vote for the Evolved. If you prefer the lightness and the fact that the X55 can be laid flat as well as function as a stand, then our vote switches to the X55 accordingly. The X55 is our favorite 3-in-1 travel stand and pad combo.

The X55 also ships with a hard-shell carry case and a 20W USB-C wall charger, which you’ll need to supply for the Evolved 3-in-1.

We also like the ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set , reviewed below, which is an inch longer and a little wider, but nearly half the depth. The X55 3-in-1 beats the ESR because its Apple Watch charger is integrated and not an attachable module. Again, it’s horses for courses—if you like the idea of having a detachable Watch charger that you can carry separately, then the ESR takes the crown.

The Journey SWIV 3-in-1 , reviewed above, is a little larger but noticeably lighter, and also can fast-charge the Apple Watch. It lies flat so doesn’t have the stand function.

Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

  • 3-in-1 fast charging stand
  • 15W iPhone, 3W Watch
  • Detachable 15W MagSafe power bank
  • Low battery capacity
  • Bulkier than slower rivals

Watch fast charge: Yes

The Alogic Matrix Ultimate is multi-talented. It can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods wireless charging case at the same time, plus you can detach the iPhone charging pad and take it with you as a power bank. You can also detach the Apple Watch charger and slot that into any charging USB-C port, including that on the power bank.

On top of all that, you can fold the whole thing up and pack it in its own carry case.

Fully certified, it boasts 15W wireless iPhone charging, and can fast-charge a Watch at the same time.

The power bank’s battery capacity is 5000mAh, which in our tests gave us nearly a three-quarter recharge. There are alternatives, such as the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed below, that feature a 10000mAh power bank with much higher recharge potential—but none are rated as fast at charging as the Matrix Ultimate.

OneAdaptr OneGo – Best 3-in-1 magnetic power bank stand

OneAdaptr OneGo – Best 3-in-1 magnetic power bank stand

  • 10000mAh power bank
  • 7.5W iPhone, 2W Watch

Cable : 0.5 m (1.6ft)

Colors : White or Black

OneGo is a compact portable wireless charging station with a handy detachable, high-capacity (10000mAh) power bank that you can take with you on your travels.

Folded it measure 6.1-x-3.1-x-1.5 inches (15.5-x-7.8-x-3.7cm).

The Watch-charging module flips up from the back of the power bank. AirPods can be powered up at the back of the stand when the charger is unfolded.

While it’s not the fastest wireless charger (7.5W iPhone and 2W Watch) you can connect a cable to the power bank’s 18W USB-C port for speedy charging.

The OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe, reviewed below, offers faster wireless charging (15W and 5W) but is a much chunkier slab to carry around as the power bank is integrated rather than detachable.

Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

  • Height adjustment
  • Tiltable MagSafe mount
  • Mostly plastic construction

Cable : None

If you want to properly raise your iPhone in a stand, this Mophie 3-in-1 charging stand is height adjustable between 7.5 to 16 inches (19-40cm).

The MagSafe mount is tilt adjustable, too, making this stand great for using FaceTime on the iPhone.

Fully Apple certified, it wirelessly charges an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch.

While it feels stable, we’d have preferred a less plasticky stand column.

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe – 2-in-1 MagSafe power bank stand

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe – 2-in-1 MagSafe power bank stand

  • Watch fast charging

This is an interesting charger, being able to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and an Apple Watch—as well as being a large-capacity power bank so you charge your devices while away from a power socket.

Fully certified by Apple, it can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch at the same time. You need to attach at least a 20W USB-C charger.

The adjustable iPhone stand folds right down and the Watch charger folds back to keep the OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank flat and easily transportable.

It is, however, quite large at 6-x-3.2-x-1.3 inches (15.3-x-8-x-3.4cm), and hefty (12oz (340g). It’s a bit of a brick to slip in a pocket and walk around with, but for a home/office power bank with iPhone stand that can move around a more limited space, it’s great.

For better portability, the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed above, features a detachable wireless power bank.

You can use it as a standard iPhone charging stand (connected to a wall charger) and then just pick it up and use it’s power bank facility when you need to move around.

Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger – Budget 3-in-1 travel magnetic charger stand

Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger – Budget 3-in-1 travel magnetic charger stand

  • Sturdy stand
  • Heavier than some

The Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger is a competitor to the very similar Kuxiu X55 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger , reviewed above—we have compared to the chargers in more detail there.

The Evolved folds up into a compact package—measuring 3.5-x-2.4-x-0.9 inches (9-x-6.1-x-2.3cm), and weighing 197g. It may be a little longer and heavier than the Kuxio X55 but that also makes it studier and more flexible. This makes it our favorite budget 3-in-1 travel stand.

The X55 can be laid flat, which the Evolved cannot. The X55 (5W) is also faster than the Evolved (3W) at charging an Apple Watch. Both wirelessly charge the iPhone at 7.5W.

An alternative is the 15W Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charger , reviewed above, that is priced a little higher but charges at twice the speed as this one.

You need to buy a separate, or provide your own, USB-C charger (at least 20W).

Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Travel Charger

Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Travel Charger

  • Charges iPhone and Apple Watch

Coming in its own hard-shell travel case, the Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe and Watch travel charger is a portable delight for owners of iPhone (12/13/14/15 series) and Apple Watch.

It is officially certified as Made for MagSafe, so charges at the full wireless 15W. Sadly the Watch doesn’t fast charge, too, but its arm folds out to create a kickstand for the iPhone in either portrait or landscape orientation.

ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

Wall charger : 20W AC power adapter

The ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Set is certified by Apple for Apple Watch but is just compatible with MagSafe for iPhone 12/13/14/15 charging, so offers 7.5W rather than 15W.

The Watch charging part is separate but plugs in once the stand is unfolded. When folded it can be used as a wireless charging pad. The iPhone can be set in either landscape or portrait orientation when the charger is doubling up as a stand.

It’s lightweight and foldable, which makes it a great travel solution if you own iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. Both the Kuxiu X55 and the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger are a more compact package for Apple Watch and iPhone owners because their Watch-charging modules are built-in. The Journey SWIV is about the same weight as the ESR but without the detachable nature of the Watch charger. It also can fast-charge a Watch unlike the ESR or Evolved foldable chargers.

It measures 4.5-x-2.6-x-0.63 inches (11.3-x-6.6-x-1.6cm).

There’s a smart travel case included that fits in the 20W charger, cable, Watch attachment and folding charging stand.

Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Wall charger : Not included, except in Australia: 20W AC power adapter

For a budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand that will charge your iPhone 12/13/14/15, AirPods wireless-charging case and Apple Watch, the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is a simpler product than the Belkin 3-in-1 but works just fine–although at the lower charging speed as it isn’t MagSafe certified.

It is similar in charging speeds to the Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed above.

The iPhone can be angled in either portrait or landscape mode, but it can’t be angled up or down. This is where the Journey charger wins out in the battle of the affordable 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers.

If you are buying in Australia (Alogic is an Australian company), you get a 20W charger, but elsewhere you’ll need to use your own wall charger.

Belkin Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger with 2m cable

Belkin Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger with 2m cable

Belkin doesn’t just make MagSafe chargers; it has a range of compatible magnetic products, too.

Its low-end Magnetic Charger Pad is not as fast as Apple’s Charger as it’s one of the non-MagSafe-certified products, but it is cheaper and comes with a cable that is twice as long as Apple’s, which gives you more flexibility depending on the distance of your power socket to where is most convenient for you for charging. It also features a handy cord wrap.

An LED indicates if there’s any charging interruption from another object that maybe could harm your phone.

If you don’t mind the slower 7.5W charging, this is an affordable solution that beats the official Apple product with its longer cable.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand

  • AirPod LED can't be turned off

As an officially MFi-certified MagSafe charger, the Belkin Charge Pro hits the 15W heights just like the Apple chargers.

Like Apple’s own Duo Charger it can simultaneously power up your AirPods at 5W on its Qi circular base, plus it has the bonus of being a stand that can hold the iPhone in either portrait or landscape mode with its stable weighted base.

It’s a bit plasticky but still looks suitably Apple-ish, and it beats the Apple 2-in-1 on price.

A small LED shows whether the placed AirPods case is wirelessly charging.

Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Wireless Charging Station – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Wireless Charging Station – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

  • Includes wall charger

Wall charger : 45W AC power adapter

Similar in looks to the Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand, the aluminum Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Charging Station beats it on two fronts: it has a much smaller footprint and can charge four devices simultaneously. It is certified Made for MagSafe so can fast-charge an iPhone 12/13/14/15 at 15W compared to just 7.5W for merely compatible magnetic chargers.

The base features a 5W Qi charging pad allows for charging wirelessly rechargeable AirPods or other Qi compatible device

The fourth device is charged using a side-mounted USB-C port, so is wired rather than wireless like the parts for iPhone, Watch and AirPods. Rated at 18W charging, this USB-C connection can fast-charge another iPhone or charge an iPad.

The supplied 45W wall charger comes with US, UK and EU adapter plugs so you can take the Zens 4-in-1 Charging Station on your travels.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe – 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe – 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

  • Large footprint

Belkin has a 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger that is a stand where the phone and Watch are held high and the AirPods case sits underneath in a Qi-compatible hollow on the base.

This is more stylish that other wireless charging stands, having a Sixties space-age design with chrome arms, and a silicone-covered plastic base.

A stand is useful as it lifts the charging phone to a height that makes it easier to FaceTime or watch videos without having to hold the phone aloft. It can hold the phone in either portrait or landscape mode.

In order to support the weight of the phone, the circular base has to be quite wide, at 13.5cm. For a smaller footprint 3-in-1 charger consider the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe or OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station—both reviewed above.

An LED indicates if the AirPods are charging, and it ships with its own power supply unit.

Belkin has two models of 3-in-1 wireless charger, both MFi-certified, that can simultaneously charge your portable Apple goodies: iPhone, AirPods and Watch.

If you’ve bought into the whole Apple device ecosystem, this one will charge all you pocketable or wearable devices. of particular note is that it can fast-charge the Apple Watch.

This model is a flat pad that also includes the possibility to leave the Watch in Nightstand mode as a bedside or desk clock. We would have preferred if the phone charger could also be angled to prop up the phone for video viewing.

While minimalist in design, it does take up a fair section of desk–measuring about 23cm across and 8cm wide, and the iPhone sticks out at either side.

The pad format is better for travel portability than a charging stand, and it comes with its own wall power supply unit, so you don’t need to add your own USB-C charger.

An LED indicates if the AirPods are charging.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Pad with Qi2 – Best 2-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Pad with Qi2 – Best 2-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

Belkin’s expanding range of fast Qi2 wireless chargers includes a simple pad that can fit an iPhone plus an AirPods case. Although it doesn’t include an Apple Watch charging module, there is a 5W USB-C port that you can connect your Watch-charging cable into and charge all three devices simultaneously.

It might not be as pretty a 3-in-1 solution as its own MagSafe-certified Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad, reviewed above, but as a 2-in-1 solution it is cheaper and better suited for those who haven’t succumbed to every Apple device available.

Being certified as Qi2 means that it can wirelessly charge at the same 15W as official MagSafe chargers.

It is reassuringly heavy so you won’t pull it off your bedside table when you remove your iPhone from the magnetic pad. This makes it less obviously portable, but it’s small and flat enough to slip into a backpack.

As it’s a pad you can’t angle the phone into StandBy mode. If you want to more easily see the time on your nightstand, consider one of the charging stands reviewed above.

It ships with a 30W USB-C wall charger and cable.

Alogic Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock – Best modular 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Alogic Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock – Best modular 3-in-1 magnetic charger

  • Can add portable power bank

Alogic has created a modular system that transforms what is often a static charging station into something more dynamic and portable. It’s called Matrix and features several products, some of which can be used with each other depending on your charging needs.

The Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock with Apple Watch Charger features a MagSafe-compatible wireless charging stand to charge an iPhone at 7.5W, a Qi cradle neatly placed at the back for charging compatible AirPods, and a detachable charger for the Apple Watch. You can take the small Watch charger with you and plug it into a USB-C charger or device with output charging. Be patient, though, at just 2W it can’t fast-charge an Apple Watch—for that you need Apple’s USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable and at least a 5W USB-C charger—but it is more portable as it doesn’t require a long cable, having its USB-C connector built-in.

As with the Anker 633 Wireless Charger, reviewed above, you can also swap out the wireless phone-charging block and add the Matrix Wireless Power Bank (sold separately). This 5000mAh portable power bank can work in the static charging stand or come with you as a neat, portable magnetic battery pack—ready powered up for the stand. This can charge two phones or devices: one wirelessly and the other simultaneously via USB-C cable. In our tests, it charged a flagging iPhone 13 Pro from 10% to 94%.

There’s even a Matrix Magnetic Wireless Charger with Car Mount available, which the power bank can be slotted into. We’d have preferred this and the 3-in-1 Charger to be available without the non-portable charging block for those users who already own the power bank.

If you don’t own an Apple Watch, the Matrix 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock will save you some money, and the side-mounted USB-C Port means you could add the Watch module at a later date should you succumb to the full Apple device roster.

Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger

Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger

  • 4-in-1 (up 6-in-1)

Wall charger : 65W AC power adapter

The Zens 4-in-1 Modular Charging Station for iPhone with MagSafe, AirPods, Apple Watch and iPad is a MagSafe-certified charging stand that can handle not just four Apple devices but more if you buy extra charging modules to connect.

Any MagSafe iPhone (12/13/14/15) can be wirelessly charged at up to 15W, faster than non-certified MagSafe-compatible chargers. AirPods and Apple Watch will each charge wirelessly at 5W.

The iPhone can be placed in either portrait or landscape mode. At the back is a stand where you can place an iPad, which can be wired charged via a side-mounted USB-C port at up to 30W.

All devices can be charged simultaneously as the power supply has a 65W total output.

The Watch module that ships with the 4-in-1 charger can handily be situated on either the right- or left-hand side depending on your preference. Modules attach magnetically.

The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when travelling.

Up to three modules can be added, and different modules are available separately. Aside from extra Watch modules, the Single Wireless Charger Extension is a 10W wireless charging pad, and the Modular USB-hub Extension lets you recharge a USB-A powered device.

If you don’t own an Apple Watch, the cheaper 3-in-1 Modular Charging Station charges iPhone, AirPods and iPad. Also available from Apple .

As an environmental bonus, the Charging Station and all modules are made from recycled plastic.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

  • Dedicated car accessory
  • Not compatible with all car vents

Cable : Built-in

Wall charger : 12V car charger included

Use your iPhone for satnav directions or to have easy access to your playlists in the car with this MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount, which works in both landscape and portrait modes.

It has an integrated USB-C cable, and a 12V car charger adapter for cars that come with USB-A ports.

The magnetic link is strong, which should mean that it can cope with any big bumps in the road. It works best with straight, horizontal vent slats up to 3mm in thickness and 20mm in depth. It does work with vertical slats, but there might be slight movements if the mount is overloaded with weight, says Belkin.

As the only dedicated MagSafe-certified 15W car mount available, it is expensive. If you can handle a lower charger rate, the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W does pretty much the same job for a lot less. Or you can buy Spigen’s Mag Fit Phone Holder Car Mount and add Apple’s MagSafe Charger (reviewed above) for pretty much the same 15W result. That product is also available in black, like most car vents.

At the moment, the only place to buy the MagSafe version is via Apple’s US Store .

ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock) – Best budget wireless car charger

ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock) – Best budget wireless car charger

  • Car charger not included

While still able to charge at a fast 15W Qi2 chargers are mostly cheaper than the Apple-certified MagSafe—but as Qi2 is based on MagSafe you have nothing to fear choosing this cheaper option.

It comes with a 1m USB-C cable, with USB-A adapter if your car still has that older standard.

You can clip it into the slats on your car’s air vent (ESR says it is compatible with 99% of all cars, which we can’t verify) or you can use the included 3M adhesive mount for a semipermanent attachment to your car’s dashboard—don’t use this on a nice leather or fabric (or curved) dash.

Journey ALTI Desk Mat – Best wireless charging desk mat

Journey ALTI Desk Mat – Best wireless charging desk mat

  • Stylish desk mat

Wall charger: Not included

Colors : Black, Light Gray

This smart desk mat includes a detachable side strip that includes a magnetic wireless charging pad for phone and a non-magnetic section to charge your AirPods. Not only is the mat reversible, with smooth, wipeable vegan leather on one side and warmer-feel felt on the other, but you can pull back the mat to stow paper and notes to help reduce clutter.

It’s quite a large mat, measuring 780 x 70 x 4mm. The Light gray color is actually more of a warm stone tone.

The charging panel connects to the mat with a light magnetic snap, and can be positioned on either side simply by flipping the mat round 180 degrees, depending on whether you are left or right handed.

As it’s MagSafe compatible rather than certified, it charges the iPhone at 7.5W rather than 15W, but will charge other compatible phones at the higher power. Earbuds can be charged at up to 5W. The magnetic fit is strong so you can’t knock it off its charging position with a stray flick of an arm.

It comes with a USB-C cable but requires a charger; recommended 20W or higher.

Journey NEXA 4-in-1 Laptop Sleeve with Wireless Charging

Journey NEXA 4-in-1 Laptop Sleeve with Wireless Charging

  • Luxury MacBook sleeve
  • MagSafe charging

The premium-quality, vegan leather Journey NEXA laptop sleeve bills itself as a “4-in-1”, and it certainly is multi-functional.

As well as protecting your laptop during travel, it includes two wireless chargers (one MagSafe compatible at 7.5W; one 5W for AirPods or a second phone) and can work as both a desk mat and mousepad to free your workspace of clutter.

While it comes with a USB-C cable, you’ll need to add your own charger (check our roundup of the  best iPhone chargers ) to connect with the USB-C port in the sleeve. Alternatively you can charge the MacBook itself while it sits protected in the sleeve—for this you’ll need a more powerful  MacBook charger .

Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Most fun magnetic charger collection

Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Most fun magnetic charger collection

  • Hundreds of options

Colors : Many cool and/or odd patterns

We picked the English Breakfast pattern for its sheer wanton oddness but there are plenty of other patterns (Acid, Checks, Cherry Blossom) and pictures (Yeti, Harry Potter, Snoopy) to choose from.

Indeed, there are 238 different wireless charger fronts to choose from.

This 100% recyclable slim charger has eco sustainability points, too, as it’s made with recycled aluminum and printed with eco-friendly ink.

Why wireless?

Wireless charging is convenient and fine for situations when you don’t need a super-fast recharge.

If you’re leaving your home in 20 minutes and need as much juice as possible, plug in the Lightning cable (or USB-C for iPhone 15) as even a 12W USB charger can power up an iPhone a third faster than wireless, and 50% faster if you use a 20W USB-C PD charger.

It is less wearing than constantly inserting a cable into your phone, and more reliable as that vulnerable cable port can fill with fluff and dust after all the time spent in your trouser pocket or bag and it’s one of the most common reasons that an iPhone refuses to charge even when connected with a cable.

It’s easy to clean with a toothpick (but please do it softly!) but will affect most of us at some time.

Wireless charging isn’t affected by the build-up of dust and fluff in the phone port and is also less vulnerable to oxidation and corrosion.

With wireless, you don’t have to remember to run around trying to find who’s taken your charging cable, and it’s certainly a lot neater.

Of course, wireless charging is not really wireless, unless you are using a portable MagSafe battery pack. The MagSafe charger is still connected by a cable to your wall charger; it’s just the connection to the phone that is properly wireless.

What else you need

Some MagSafe chargers come with their own wall charger, but most require you to add your own. Apple recommends at least a 20W USB-C power adapter (wall-socket charger) and we agree. You won’t get over 15W charging power from the MagSafe charger to the iPhone, but 20W all but guarantees you’ll get as much power as you can.

We have tested the best iPhone wall chargers to help you choose a recommended solution.

Anker MagGo Qi2 Charging Pad connected to an iPhone

Best Qi2 Charger Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Pad (Qi2) Read more

Wireless charging isn't nearly as cool as it sounds. It's not exactly wireless—a cord runs from an outlet to the charging pad—and it won't charge your smartphone faster than plugging it in with a good ol’ cord. Still, I'm always disappointed when I test a smartphone that doesn't support it. I've gotten used to simply plopping my phone down on a pad every night, and fishing for a cable in the dark feels like a chore. It's pure convenience more than anything else.

After testing more than 100 products over the past few years, my colleague Simon Hill and I have sorted the good from the bad ( there are certainly bad ones ) and have identified the best wireless chargers. There are so many styles, shapes, and build materials that you have options, including stands, pads, wireless battery packs, and models that even double as headphone stands.

You’ll see “ Compatible with iPhones and Android phones ” under each slide, and that means the charger has a standard charging speed of 7.5 watts for iPhones or 10 watts for Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy phones). If it charges faster or slower, we'll indicate it. We've tested these with multiple devices, but there's always a chance your phone will charge slowly or won’t work because the case is too thick or its charging coil doesn't align well with the charger.

The Best Stand

I love it when wireless chargers try to be more than just boring plinths. It's something that sits in your home—it should at least look nice! That's why I love the PowerPic Mod from Twelve South. The charger itself is embedded inside a clear acrylic resin. What makes it special is you can add a 4 x 6 photo or custom artwork of your own choosing over the charging module and keep the image secure with a transparent magnetic cover. Slot the charger into the base, plug in the USB-C cable, and that's it. Now you've got a wireless charger that doubles as a photo frame when it's not in use. Just remember to print a photo (and supply a 20-watt power adapter ).

Compatible with iPhones and Android phones.

The Best Pad

If you have an iPhone with MagSafe , you should get the Base One , which is officially certified to dish out the maximum 15 watts needed for fast charging on iPhones. If not, the standard Base here (which still has MagSafe support) will recharge MagSafe and non-MagSafe iPhones at 7.5 watts, and Android phones up to 15 watts. There's an integrated 2-meter USB-C cable in the box but no power adapter (I like this Nomad 20-watt one ).

The pad itself has a metal chassis with piano-black glass surrounding the wireless charging pad. It's hefty, so it won't slide around on a desk either. Compatible with iPhones, fast 15-W charging for Android phones.

Best Cheap Wireless Charger

Anker's pad and stand prove you don't need to spend much for wireless charging. They're both made from plastic with a rubbery finish on the bottom to prevent slips and slides, though it's not too grippy. A tiny LED lights up blue when it’s charging and flashes to indicate there’s a problem. We prefer stands over pads, because you can easily see your phone notifications, but Anker’s pad is so cheap you could grab a few to scatter around your home. Both come with a 4-foot MicroUSB cable, but you have to supply the power adapter. That’s not a big surprise at this price. Most importantly, they'll charge your phone every bit as capably as the other options in this guide.

Best Qi2 Charger

It is early days for the new Qi2 standard , but in a nutshell, it adds MagSafe-style magnetic charging and promises a 15-watt charging rate. Few phones beyond Apple’s MagSafe lineup (iPhone 12 and later) work with the magnets today, but Qi2 is backward compatible. You can put any Qi-certified phone on a Qi2 charger and charge, though it may not charge at the maximum 15-watt rate. This simple pad from Anker sticks well, has a durable aluminum casing that stays relatively cool, and has a 5-foot USB-C cable permanently attached.

A Great MagSafe Stand

Practical and good-looking, this wireless charging stand is Qi2 certified . It’s a weighty mix of metal and glass in black or white, with padding in all the right places. You can pick up or place your phone one-handed, and the stand doesn’t slide around or topple easily. It has a ring of powerful magnets to hold your MagSafe iPhone or Qi2-certified Android phone in portrait or landscape orientation (handy for StandBy mode) and can charge at up to 15 watts. You get a nice braided cable in the box but will need a 20-watt charger , which is a bit cheeky at this price.

smartphone with iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless charger

Best Car Charger

Don't fiddle with cables again, even in the car. This versatile car mount from iOttie comes in two flavors, a suction cup for the dashboard/windshield or a CD/vent mount that clips into place. Adjust the height of the feet so your phone is always in the sweet spot for charging. The arms close around your phone automatically when it hits the trigger on the back of the mount, so you can place your device one-handed. (A release bar extends on either side so you can take your phone out again.) The mount has a MicroUSB port to plug in the supplied cable; just stick the other end in your car’s power socket. It handily includes a second USB-A port you can use to charge another phone. Read our Best Car Phone Mounts and Chargers guide for more recommendations.

★ MagSafe alternatives: Got an iPhone with MagSafe? The iOttie Velox Wireless Charging Car Mount ($42) is a minimalist option that slots into an air vent and has strong magnets to keep your iPhone securely in place. We also really like Peak Design's MagSafe Vent Mount ($100) , which stays securely in place and comes with a USB-C cable. It's just too expensive.

Nimble Apollo Wireless Charger

An Eco-Friendly Charger

The silicone surface of this wireless charger easily accumulates dust and lint, but that might not matter to you if you're shopping for the most eco-friendly charger. It's made of recycled silicone, the texture of which helps keep phones from sliding off the surface. The rest of it is made with post-consumer plastic and alloy, and even the packaging is plastic-free. Better yet, if you have an iPhone 12 or newer with MagSafe, the magnets inside the Apollo will keep your iPhone aligned perfectly for more efficient charging, even if they're not as strong as normal MagSafe wireless chargers. It also comes with a 20-watt charging adapter and cable, which is great value.

Compatible with iPhones, fast 15-W charging for Android phones.

Google Pixel Wireless Charging Stand Gen 2

Best for the Nightstand (and Pixel Phones)

Chances are you don't want too many LEDs in your face when you're sleeping. The LED on the second-gen Pixel Stand briefly lights up when you place a phone on it and disappears quickly. This charger is best paired with a Google Pixel smartphone because it enables extra perks, like turning your Pixel into a sunrise alarm clock that sees the screen glowing orange right before your alarm starts to ring, mimicking the sunrise. You can also convert your phone into a digital photo frame with Google Photos albums populating the screen, and have it trigger Bedtime Mode, which turns on Do Not Disturb and makes your screen gray to help you put your phone down . There's a built-in fan to keep your device cool as it fast-charges; it's audible in a quiet room, but you can turn the fan off in your Pixel's settings to keep it silent. It comes with a cable and adapter.

This charger still works great with other smartphones, you just won't be able to access many of those Pixel features. The biggest downside? Charging only works in portrait orientation. Oh, and it's overpriced. The good news is the first-gen Pixel Stand is still available for much less; you can recharge your phone in landscape and portrait orientation, and I daresay it looks more interesting .

Compatible with iPhones, fast 23-W (Pixel 6 Pro, 7 Pro, and 8 Pro), 21-W (Pixel 6, 7, and 8), and 15-W charging for Android phones.

A 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger

Ah, the holy Apple trinity. If you have an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods (or honestly, any kind of earbuds with a wireless charging case), you'll love this T-shaped Belkin stand. It's a MagSafe charger, so it'll suspend your magnet-enabled iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, or iPhone 15 as if it's floating in mid-air (and charge it at the fastest 15-watt speed, too). The Apple Watch will stick to its little puck, and you can recharge your earbuds at the base. It's excellent. Belkin has a pad version if you'd like, but it takes up more room and isn't as fun as the tree (what I call the stand). Find more options in our Best Apple 3-in-1 Wireless Chargers guide.

Fast 15-W charging for iPhone 12 or newer, made for Apple devices.

★ A cheaper 3-in-1 MagSafe charger: I've been surprisingly happy with this Monoprice MagSafe 3-in-1 Stand ($40) . It feels cheap, but the MagSafe charger works well for MagSafe iPhones, and the base recharges my AirPods Pro with no issues. You have to supply your own Apple Watch charger and install it in the designated area, which was easy enough. It's hard to complain considering the price.

Devices charging on the Courant Mag 3 charging pad

A Stylish 2-in-1 Charger

Courant makes some of the prettiest wireless chargers out there, and my new favorite is the Mag:3 Classics/Essentials. I tried it in leather, but you can also save some cash with the linen version. There are two chargers here, but you can't fit two phones side by side. It's instead meant to be for one smartphone and one wireless earbuds case. I've used it with the iPhone 15 and AirPods Pro with no issues—the left charger is MagSafe-compatible and the right side is a Qi charger, and they both work with non-Apple products too. I've tested it with a Pixel phone using a MagSafe case and Google's wireless earbuds with no issues. I love that there's room to add your tchotchkes. It's my dedicated sunglasses spot.

It comes with a cable and power adapter. There's an additional 10-watt USB-C port to charge another low-power device nearby too.

Compatible with iPhones and Android phones

A Wooden Pad

Wireless chargers are usually plastic and rarely blend in with their surroundings, but Kerf’s chargers are covered with 100 percent natural and locally sourced wood. Choose from 12 wood finishes, from walnut to padauk, and each will come with a cork base to prevent slips. Starting from $50, these chargers can get expensive if you opt for rarer woods. You have the option of engraving it. You can choose whether to get a cable and power supply ($25 extra), which is a nice way to prevent electronic waste if you already have those.

safari wireless charger

A Hybrid Charger

This dual-charging system looks pretty—I like the fabric-wrapped stand—and you can charge another device on the rubberized charging pad next to it. The stand can be used in portrait or landscape, though in the latter orientation it'll block the pad. I like using the pad to top up my wireless earbuds, but I wouldn't use this iOttie on a nightstand because the LED on the front can be glaring. A cable and adapter are included, which makes it a good value.

Devices charging on the Tesla Wireless charger

Best Multi-Device Charger

This wireless charger isn't so much a Tesla product but more a FreePower one, considering it's the company's technology inside . Its first-gen tech was inside a Nomad charger we liked , but this is the second generation, and it's much better ( 7/10, WIRED Recommends ). The idea is you can place your devices (up to three) anywhere on the surface and the 30 coils inside the charger will identify exactly where to deliver power (up to 15 watts each). No precise placement necessary! I've been using it to charge my wife's and my wireless earbuds cases for months, and it's great not having to place them exactly in a certain spot.

It comes with an integrated USB-C cable, a magnetic detachable stand to keep phone screens angled toward you (if you want), and a 65-watt power adapter. It feels luxe, and I love being able to charge all my devices without having to be careful where I place them, but $300 is also a stupid amount of money to spend on a wireless charger.

Compatible with iPhones, 15-W charging for Android phones.

wireless charger

An Invisible Charger

This wireless charger ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ) is one of the few on this list that blew me away. You affix it to the underside of a table (avoid metal ones), and it'll charge your phone through it! It's truly an invisible wireless charging system and especially handy if you're limited on desk space.

The installation requires some effort, and your table must be the right thickness: too thin and you shouldn't use this charger, as it may overheat your phone; too thick and it won't be able to send enough power through. It also means you'll have a (clear) sticker on your table indicating where to place your phone, but it's a small price to pay for the amount of space you save. Just know that if you switch phones, you may need to recalibrate it and apply a new sticker.

Standard iPhone charging speed, slow 5-W charging for Android phones, normal 9-W speeds for Samsung phones.

samsung wireless charger

For Samsung Galaxy Farers

If you have the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 , Watch5 , Watch4 , Galaxy Watch3, Active2 , or Active , then this is an excellent triple wireless charger to add to your home. You place the watch on the circular dip; I used it near my front door for several months and it charged the Watch4 (and the older Watch3) with zero issues.

The Trio is attractive, has LEDs that light up quickly, and comes with a 25-watt wall charger and USB cable. My partner and I usually drop our wireless earbuds cases next to the watch. I don't need to be too precise—the six coils inside give you some flexibility as to where you place them. If you only need the watch charger and space for one other device, it comes in a Duo version , or you can pick up the standard pad . Just remember, it only supports the models specified above. Several customer reviews mention it not working with older Galaxy watches.

Compatible with iPhones, slower 5-W charging for Android phones, fast 9-W charging for Samsung phones.

Want to kit out your work-from-home setup ? Conserve space and use a headphone stand that can also wirelessly charge your phone. Oakywood's 2-in-1 has a base made from your choice of solid walnut or oak, and it looks gorgeous. Place your phone on it and it'll recharge just as well as any other charger on this list. The steel stand makes for a nice place to hang up your cans when you're done for the day. If you don't care for the stand but like the look of the charger, the company sells a version with just the pad .

★ Another alternative:  The Satechi 2-in-1 Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger ($80) is a shiny, sleek, and sturdy headphone stand with a Qi wireless charging pad for your iPhone or AirPods. It has magnets in it so it's great for anyone with a MagSafe Apple product. There's also a USB-C port to charge up a second device.

A Marble Charger

Einova's Charging Stone is made with 100 percent solid marble or stone—you can choose from a variety. Every single pick in this guide looks very much like a wireless charger, but I've had visiting friends ask if this one is a drink coaster. (I'm still figuring out whether that's a good or bad thing.) It has zero LEDs, perfect for bedrooms; just try to hide the cable to truly make it blend into your home. We recommend putting a case on your phone when using it with this charger, as there's a risk of scuffing up the back with these harder surfaces.

For PC Gamers

There's a tendency to add RGB LEDs to every single component that goes into building a gaming PC . You can then customize all the shiny lights into any color imaginable, or just stick with a rotation of rainbow unicorn vomit . Whatever you opt for, this wireless charger is the next natural addition to your battle station. It has a nice soft-touch finish (though it picks up dust and lint easily). But the best part is the ring of LEDs around the base. Install Razer's Chroma software and you'll be able to customize the pattern and color and sync it to any other Razer Chroma peripheral you own for all the RGB glory.

Satechi Duo wireless charger with iPhone

A Wireless Battery

When you're out and about, finding a wall outlet to plug in your charger and phone can be tricky. Use a battery pack instead! Better yet, use one that supports wireless charging. This 10,000-mAh model from Satechi has enough power to recharge a phone more than once, but it has a few extra tricks up its sleeve. You can flip up the wireless charger to use it as a stand as it juices up your phone—I've tested it with a Pixel 7, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and iPhone 14 Pro, and they all managed to recharge, though not fast. Behind the stand is a spot to recharge your wireless earbuds case (if it supports it), and you can plug a third device in via the USB-C port. There are LEDs at the back to see how much battery is left in the bank.

5-W charging for iPhones and Android phones.

★ For MagSafe iPhone owners: Anker's 622 Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger ($50) magnetically sticks to the back of MagSafe iPhones, and there's a built-in kickstand so you can prop your phone up anywhere. It has a 5,000-mAh capacity, so it should fully recharge your iPhone once at the very least. Read our Best MagSafe Power Banks guide for more.

Various Anker MagGo chargers in different colors

Best Docks for MagSafe iPhones

These Anker products are some of my favorite iPhone wireless chargers at the moment. The orb-shaped MagGo has recently been updated with Qi2 support and includes several USB-C and USB-A ports plus AC outlets on its back, doubling as a power strip and a MagSafe wireless charger for any iPhone that supports the feature. The MagGo 623 can magnetically hold your iPhone at an angle on your desk and recharge it, and the circular base behind the angled top can also simultaneously juice up wireless earbuds.

But my favorite is the MagGo 633, which is a charging stand that doubles as a portable battery. Just slide out the battery to take it with you on the go (it'll stick to your MagSafe iPhone magnetically), and slot it back in when you're home. You can charge your iPhone on it as the power bank recharges itself. Ingenious. The base also can recharge wireless earbuds too.

Made for iPhones and Apple devices.

RapidX Modula 5 Wireless Charging System

Best for Travel

This modular system from RapidX is great for couples or families, because it is compact and can wirelessly charge two phones at up to 10 watts each. The beauty is that you can add or remove pods, and a single charging cable can power up to five. The pods snap together magnetically and pull apart for easy packing. There are additional phone pods ($30) and a version with a phone pod and an Apple Watch pod ($80). You get only a 30-watt US power adapter and a 5-foot USB-C cable in the box, so you will need a more powerful adapter if you plan to add pods. (RapidX recommends 65 watts or above for three or more devices.)

Anker MagGo Qi2 Travel 3in1 charger

Best Qi2 and MagSafe for Travel

Many chargers bill themselves as ideal travel companions, but Anker’s MagGo 3-in-1 is perhaps the most compact I’ve tested when folded flat. Despite its size, this travel charger can charge up your iPhone or Qi2-certified phone at up to 15 watts, has a second pad for AirPods or other wireless earbuds, and sports a fold-out Apple Watch charger. The box includes both a USB-C cable (around 5-foot) and a wall adapter. Only MagSafe iPhones and Qi2-certified Android phones have the magnets needed to use this as a stand, but I had no trouble charging an older Android phone by angling it back (Qi2 is backward compatible).

★ An alternative: Mophie's 3-in-1 Travel Charger With MagSafe ($150) is another nice option that folds up to be super compact, and it includes a fabric case, along with the cable and charging adapter. It will fast-charge iPhones at 15 watts, and this updated model includes fast-charging support for the Apple Watch.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Apple Watch Charger

Best for Apple Watch

It may top our Best Smartwatches guide, but the Achilles heel for the Apple Watch is battery life. This sleek charging pad comes in black or white, charges any Apple Watch, and folds flat for easy travel. While it’s not quite as compact as I would like, you can use the dial on the underside to adjust it for your Apple Watch size, and there’s cable management for the included 4-foot USB-C cable. It also supports Nightstand mode and fast charging for the latest Apple Watches. You just need a 20-watt wall charger to pair it with.

Zens Liberty Glass wireless charger

Honorable Mentions

There are a lot of wireless chargers. Here are a few more we like, but for one reason or another don't warrant a place above.

  • Casetify PowerThru 2-in-1 Charging Stand for $102 : If you want a charger for your MagSafe iPhone and AirPods (or other earbuds), this one from Casetify is a decent pick. It has a squared-off base with an indent for AirPods, a metallic rod, and a slightly adjustable MagSafe pad for your iPhone that charges at 7.5 watts. I don’t love the visible logo around the pad or the options with basketball courts and other designs for the base, and it has a bright LED.
  • Apple MagSafe Charger for $30 : Apple's MagSafe charger is quite basic. Since the charger magnetically stays attached to MagSafe iPhones, you don't have to worry about accidental misalignments causing you to wake up to a dead device. But the cable isn't very long and there's no charging adapter.
  • Nomad Stand One Max for $180 : This is a very elegant if expensive Qi2-enabled 3-in-1 wireless charger that has juiced up my iPhone 15, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro with no trouble. It doesn't include a charging adapter, which is silly, but you'll get 15-watt fast charging for the iPhone and fast charging for the Apple Watch. The watch strap tends to get in the way of the AirPods, but this is a minor gripe.
  • Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand With MagSafe for $150 : This is a pretty smart 3-in-1 Apple charger that doubles as a tripod for your iPhone. You can elongate the stand to raise your iPhone from 7.5 inches to 16 inches, which is pretty convenient. The head tilts a little up and down too, so you can angle your phone screen. It supports 15-watt fast charging, and an Apple Watch charger hangs off on the side, with an AirPods charger on the base.
  • Courant Catch:2 Essentials for $90 : Wireless chargers should look nice. You shouldn't settle for anything less! This Courant dual charger oozes luxury with its Belgian linen-wrapped surface (especially in the camel color). I've used it by my front door to recharge my partner's and my wireless earbuds for two years. The rubber feet prevent it from shifting around, but even if there are five coils in this pad, you should try to be precise when you put your device down to charge and make sure the LED lights up to double-check. It comes with a color-matching USB-C cable.
  • Anker 737 MagGo MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger for $140 : This triple wireless charger is pretty great if you are entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. It's Made for iPhone certified, so you get the max 15-watt charging speed for MagSafe iPhones. It doesn't have fast charging for the Apple Watch dock, but you can pop in a pair of wireless earbuds in the middle of the triangle to juice the case back up. It comes with a 30-watt adapter and USB-C cable.
  • Xiaomi Mi 80W Wireless Charging Stand for $100 : By far the fastest wireless charger we have tested, this stand is only worth considering for Xiaomi phones (it seems to charge most other phones at 10 watts or below). I tested with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ), which tops out at 50 watts (some Xiaomi models can go higher). The unusual sail shape combines a white triangular section with a clear acrylic base that has a subtle groove to hold your phone in place and a gap underneath for the exhaust grill from the noisy fan. The USB-C port and LED indicator are on the back.
  • Zens Liberty Wireless Charger for $113 : I tested the Glass Edition ($150) of this wireless charging pad, and it looks stunning with the 16 overlapping copper coils on display (the standard version has a woolen fabric top). It can charge two devices simultaneously at up to 15 watts apiece, and there’s an optional Apple Watch add-on ($24) . As stylish as it is, the price is too high. Because you can see the coils, placement is never an issue, but it’s a bulky charger, the fan is audible at times, and while I had no problem charging my iPhone or AirPods, my Pixel 6 Pro got very warm on this pad.
  • OtterBox Wireless Charging Pad for $40 : OtterBox has improved its wireless charging pad to deliver up to 15 watts to eligible phones. Easily mistaken for a coaster, it has an anti-slip rubber top and bottom to stop it or your phone from sliding around. Sadly, the LED on the front lights up white when charging, which is not ideal for the nightstand.
  • OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station With MagSafe for $150 : This is featured in our Best Apple 3-in-1 Chargers guide, and for good reason. It's one of the most compact 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers out there. There's a spot for AirPods or wireless earbuds at the base, the Apple Watch, and a MagSafe iPhone, which will charge at the fastest 15-watt speed.

Your Charging Questions, Answered

Does my phone support wireless charging?

Not all phones support wireless charging, but most brands have models that do, so look up your phone model first. You'll usually see "Qi wireless charging" (the default standard) or simply "wireless charging" if it does. Phones that support the latest Qi2 standard , bear the Qi2 logo and have a ring of magnets for easy alignment (just like Apple's MagSafe).

Do wireless chargers work if you have a phone case?

Yes, most wireless chargers can charge through cases, unless it's a particularly thick case. Check the product listing—there's usually a case thickness limit in millimeters. Phones can get hot when charging wirelessly, so don't worry if your phone is really warm when you pick it up. Most smartphones have limits to stop accepting a charge if they get too hot.

Yes, cords will charge your phone faster

Some manufacturers like Apple and OnePlus make wireless chargers that recharge their respective phones faster than others, but if you're looking for speed, you're better off sticking with a cord. Wireless charging is best for desks or nightstands when you're not really using your phone or in a rush to recharge it.

What's a fast wireless charging speed?

We said this at the beginning of our guide, but you'll see “ Compatible with iPhones and Android phones ” under each slide, and that means the charger has a standard charging speed of 7.5 watts for iPhones or 10 watts for Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy phones). The latest MagSafe and Qi2 chargers can go up to 15 watts, and there are a handful of proprietary wireless chargers for specific phone models that can charge even faster. It's worth noting that, even where phones support them, the maximum charging rates are only reached some of the time (the charging rate is automatically adjusted to preserve battery health).

Is wireless charging safe to use?

There's no definitive evidence that it's harmful. You may worry the phone's battery might degrade faster with wireless charging, but manufacturers set safe limits for phone batteries, stipulating how much a battery can be charged and how far it can discharge. Regardless of the charging source you use, whether you plug into a wall adapter or use a wireless charging pad, these limits can’t be overridden. There’s no risk of overcharging your phone by leaving it on a wireless charger all night.

How do I keep my phone's battery healthy?

However, try to keep your battery between 50 and 80 percent for optimum battery health . Keeping your phone fully charged or fully discharging the battery will degrade it slightly faster, and regularly swinging between full and empty will shorten its life. Battery technology has improved in recent years, and phone batteries are more reliable than ever. If you switch phones every two to three years or don’t mind paying a modest fee for a battery replacement on that timescale, it’s not worth worrying too much about how often or when you charge your phone.

Save $40 Off Our Favorite Wireless Charger for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods Today

Top off all your Apple gear at once with this three-in-one charger, down to its best price of the year.

safari wireless charger

If you own an iPhone, Apple Watch and a pair of AirPods, you're no doubt already very aware of the charging dance that's required to keep them all powered up. Three different cables, three different AC adapters. It's no way to live. But it doesn't have to be that way. The Belkin MagSafe three-in-one wireless charger is our favorite in the category, making it one of the best wireless chargers we've found. What's more, you can pick one up today with a $40 discount, slashing the price to just $110 . That's the lowest it has gone so far this year, and within $10 of the lowest price it's ever hit.

Both the white and black versions of this wireless charger are available at this special price. You'll get support for MagSafe wireless iPhone charging at the faster 15-watt speed, while Apple Watch fast charging is also supported, meaning the Apple Watch Series 7 and later will charge 33% faster with this Belkin unit than on other chargers. There's also a space for wirelessly charging your AirPods or AirPods Pro , and because this is one unit, it only takes up one AC outlet using the included charging brick.

Thanks to the strong MagSafe connection you can turn your iPhone into landscape mode and make use of iOS 17's funky StandBy feature as well, making this an ideal nightstand or desk charger. You'll want an iPhone with an always-on display to make the most of that feature, though, so be sure to check out our list of the best iPhone deals if it's time for an upgrade in that department, too.
