Scotty was awesome, amazing, and he gets better and better every time I see him which was my 10th time. The concert was an 1 hour and 1/2 long and it was worth every second. Wish I had 5 more minutes. Awesome show!!!!

Scotty McCreery captured our attention during his stint on "American Idol." His singing and the songs he chose helped me enjoy the genre of country music more. So, when we saw that he was performing at Centennial Hall (University of Arizona), Tucson, we bought tickets for the show and were very excited.
First, we attend lectures at Centennial Hall so the issue regarding accoustics is not really a problem for the most part. However, with the presence of 3-4 guitars, keyboard and drums plus amps, the music was much louder than the performer...we saw Scotty's mouth moving and we knew sound was emanating from him BUT we could not hear the lyrics distinctly. I think if the music had been powered down a bit and/or the building had better accoustics, this would not have been an issue.
Enjoyed Scotty's personal footnotes which preceded some of the songs and it gave some insight to him as a person. He uses music/lyrics to express his feelings & emotions. Having said that, perhaps he is shy (as many performers are) and did not engage the audience (theater-goers in the front rows) much. Then I considered the possibility that he was "saving" himself for the audience members who had paid to visit him backstage. All in all, it was a high energy show with a group of wonderfully talented performers. It was good to see a grown up Scotty McCreery with 8-9 years of professional experience.
Absolutely amazing! It was such a great time. My uncle and I went; I have seen Scotty, though, two times in the past so going a third time made me so happy! He never disappoints with his stage presence. Love him and I loved the Casino Ballroom. Five stars!

Posted by Buddy Iahn | Dec 12, 2022
Trek is named after star’s fifth No. 1 hit
Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery will embark on the Damn Strait Tour, boasting over 20 dates in 2023 through the end of April. Fan club presale start December 13th at 10 am local time with a general on sale set for Friday, December 16th at 10 am local time.
“Looking forward to hitting the road in 2023 with the Damn Strait Tour,” McCreery says. “I’ve enjoyed my time at home learning to be a Dad to Avery, but I’ve missed being onstage with the band and performing for the fans. Can’t wait to see everyone in the new year!”
The namesake of the tour and McCreery’s fifth consecutive chart-topper, RIAA Gold-certified “Damn Strait” (which stayed at No. 1 for three weeks), also landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Year End Country Airplay chart along with being named among Billboard’s “10 Best Country Songs of 2022.”
Current single “It Matters To Her” continues climbing, reaching No. 32 on this week’s Mediabase chart. He recently premiered the official music video , offering some behind-the-scenes footage as he and wife Gabi prepared for the arrival of their son Merrick Avery . Both songs are available on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album .
McCreery, who was just ranked No. 13 on the Top 50 list of 2022 Country Airplay Artists by Billboard, was a co-writer on all but four of the 18 tracks of Same Truck: The Deluxe Album, which was produced by Frank Rogers, Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis. The project showcases McCreery’s lauded songwriting skills with six new songs, including “On It,” reconnecting McCreery with “In Between” co-writers Jessi Alexander, Jonathan Singleton and Rogers, which was one of three consecutive No. 1 singles from his RIAA Gold-certified album Seasons Change .
As the North Carolina native looks forward to his first Christmas as a dad to Avery, McCreery has been celebrating the holidays as a performer on CMA Country Christmas , streaming now on Hulu and Disney+ and re-airing on ABC on December 13th, while CMT shared a rocking performance of Elvis Presley’s “Santa Claus is Back in Town” from McCreery’s Campfire Sessions. Earlier this month, he was the spotlight artist for a sold out Opry Country Christmas show in Nashville.
Additionally, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will premiere Five More Minutes: Moments Like These on December 17th at 10 pm ET/PT. It is the second film inspired by his 2018 2x Platinum certified No. 1 hit “Five More Minutes” and stars Ashley Williams and Lucas Bryan. The movie is not a sequel to last year’s Five More Minutes but has a new storyline. McCreery once again serves as an executive producer, but he does not appear in the movie, as it was filmed during the last month of wife Gabi’s pregnancy.
McCreery is gearing up to close out another landmark year with four remaining shows in 2022, including three acoustic co-headlining shows with Lee Brice. Both artists will be on stage for the entire concert, and they will trade off songs with each other, providing a more intimate concert experience than usual.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck . Stream “Cab in a Solo” HERE .
Upon its release, Taste of Country declared “McCreery’s country roots shine.” With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.
“Cab in a Solo” follows the recent success of “It Matters to Her” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time , ” all found on Same Truck : The Deluxe Album.

About Anne Wilson:
One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a true “rebel” in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL (The Beginning), a three-pack of songs fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country, and allowing the emerging powerhouse to innovate as her career builds momentum. Co-produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith, the project kicks off with two singles bridging Wilson’s sonic influences. The hurricane force encouragement of “Rain In The Rearview” stands as Wilson’s debut Country single, while the soaring ballad “Strong” will simultaneously aim to continue the success she has earned in Contemporary Christian. Taking the music world by storm, Wilson delivered her first public performance at 15, singing “What a Beautiful Name” at her brother’s funeral in a moving expression of faith which soon went viral. A few short years later, her 2021 debut single “My Jesus” became a PLATINUM-certified single and hit No.1 on Billboard ’s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, she has tallied more than 730M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and scored a GRAMMY nomination for her 2022 debut album My Jesus . She continues to thrill live audiences, performing over 250 shows in the first two years of her career, and is currently on her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour.
ABOUT GREYLAN JAMES:
From the moment his Papaw gifted him his first guitar at the age of five, one of Nashville’s most exciting young breakout Country stars Greylan James knew he was meant to be a musician. The Knoxville-raised singer/songwriter has been manifesting his vision of Country music stardom since his earliest days: from those cleats and cowboy hats he wore to school to playing every sort of live show imaginable from tailgates to patios and dive bars to funerals around his hometown. Since moving to Music City eight years ago, Greylan has become a “celebrated songwriter” ( Country Now ) earning cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more, most recently earning his first No. 1 with Jordan Davis’ smash hit “Next Thing You Know.” To date, Greylan’s songbook has amassed more than 650 million streams. And while Greylan has undoubtedly been incredibly successful penning hits for others in the writer’s room, he’s ready to strike out on his own with the recent release of his anticipated debut single “ Young Man ” (BMLG Records). Co-written alongside esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, and dedicated to Greylan’s late grandfather, the reflective song of notching wisdom from one’s elders is his most personal song yet. After joining Old Dominion on the road over the summer, Greylan heads out on Cole Swindell’s TWELVE TOUR this fall beginning October 12 in Fargo, ND. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit GreylanJames.com .
About Noah Hicks: Raised on a chicken farm in Carrollton, GA, Noah Hicks brings an authenticity that’s as real as the dirt roads he grew up on. After making the move to Nashville, he quickly found his place among some of the city’s most respected writing circles. But it’s not just his ear for a good song that sets him apart; he prides himself on his energetic live shows and undeniable connection with fans. Sharing the stage with names like HARDY, Ernest, Justin Moore, and Parker McCollum, and making appearances at festivals like CMA Fest, Noah’s energy is felt far beyond Music Row. Since signing with RED Creative Group in 2020, he’s amassed over 60 million streams and collaborated with artists like Rhett Akins, Ashley Cooke, Travis Denning, and Jon Langston. Two of his standout tracks, “I Can Tell You’re Small Town” and “Dirt On It,” have proven Noah’s ability to authentically and naturally connect with fans. The former sparked an organic TikTok trend, with over 29K videos created and counting, while the latter has been embraced by NFL and MLB stadiums, organically finding its way into the ears of sports fans.

The fan club presale will be available tomorrow, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by the general on sale this Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. local time. Can’t wait to see everyone in the new year!”
The namesake of the tour and McCreery’s fifth consecutive chart-topper, RIAA Gold-certified “Damn Strait” (which stayed at No.1 for three weeks), also landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Year End Country Airplay chart along with being named among Billboard ’s “10 Best Country Songs of 2022,” sharing the single marked “one of the biggest chart hits of McCreery’s 11-year career,” while praising, “McCreery has become known for letting fans follow his life through songs like ‘This Is It’ and ‘Five More Minutes,’ but he’s also shown he has an ear for a great outside song, like this cut from Jim Collins and Trent Tomlinson.”

Scotty McCreery Releases Heartbreak Single “Cab in a Solo”

Following several teases on his social media and with five consecutive No. 1 hits under his belt, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery begins the next chapter in his career with today’s release of his latest single “ Cab in a Solo .” The country crooner, who turns 30 this fall, has spent almost half his life making country music while continuing to push himself and grow creatively as well as personally. Stream the new track HERE .
Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck .
“I brought several of my writer buddies to the mountains of North Carolina for a few days to write songs, and that’s where ‘Cab in a Solo’ was born,” said McCreery. “This song is pure country. I’m excited to share it with everyone.”
With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.
I’ve sent a dozen texts and I ain’t heard jack I guess she’s busy playing hard to get back So, I bought roses and her favorite wine Thinking we’d be making up in no time But I’m parked here out on her street Looks like the joke is on me
Sitting here I can’t believe what I just saw A couple shadows kissing on her bedroom wall It’s looking like my plan didn’t work out at all Our break turned into broke up So now I’m finding out how heartbreak tastes With a silver oak 1998 Drinking cab in a solo, solo in the cab of my truck
The new single follows the recent success of “ It Matters to Her ” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “ Damn Strait ” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “ You Time, ” all found on Same Truck : The Deluxe Album.

Tears, Cheers, and Musical Heroes: Scotty McCreery Enjoys Unforgettable Opry Induction
After Garth Brooks extended the Opry invitation five months ago, Randy Travis and Josh Turner usher the North Carolina hitmaker into country's exclusive circle: "It's been a heck of a ride"
Chris Hollo/Grand Ole Opry
Ever since Scotty McCreery vaulted into the spotlight 13 years ago, he has put his answer on “repeat” whenever he’s been asked about his dreams. No. 1 on the list has always been membership in the Grand Ole Opry.
On Saturday night in Nashville, McCreery’s moment finally arrived, but calling it a dream come true would be selling it short.
“Y’all, this night is, is just … it’s unbelievable,” the 30-year-old artist said, struggling with both words and emotions before an adoring Opry House crowd.
The invitation to join the Opry , delivered back in December by musical hero Garth Brooks , seemed special enough. But then, on Saturday night, two more heroes, Randy Travis and Josh Turner , showed up to give McCreery an equally unforgettable induction.
They arrived onstage just after McCreery finished a poignant performance of Travis’ classic “Three Wooden Crosses,” McCreery’s go-to song when he was a 15-year-old amateur just hoping to have any kind of country career at all. McCreery knew Travis, 64, would be in attendance Saturday — the two have since become friends — but the stage appearance was a complete surprise. Though the Hall of Famer and Opry member has been robbed of his voice since a 2013 stroke, his broad smile still spoke volumes to McCreery and the audience.
“It’s pretty unreal that Randy Travis even knows who the heck I am, to be honest,” McCreery said at a pre-show news conference, already in hero-worship mode.
Turner, 46, has probably played an even more pivotal role in McCreery’s career; two of Turner’s signature hits, “Your Man” and “Long Black Train,” were performed by McCreery in his journey to win American Idol in 2011. Just 17 years old at the time, McCreery wowed the show’s judges — and the tens of millions watching — with bass notes reminiscent of Turner’s (though McCreery long ago conceded that Turner has the lower range).
Onstage, Turner reminisced about when he first heard about McCreery: “I will never forget getting the call that ‘a young guy just sang your song on American Idol .’ I learned after the fact that he’d actually come to one of my shows a week or two before auditioning on the TV show, and he continued to sing my songs.”
Turner obviously took the covers as a compliment. McCreery now considers him “a good buddy,” and as an Opry member, he was McCreery’s first choice to induct him. Embracing the honor, Turner set aside what was supposed to be a weekend off, and perhaps as a nod to McCreery, he performed both “Your Man” and “Long Black Train” during his own Opry set before the induction.
Turner also came prepared, delivering a heartfelt written speech that spoke to how the moment wasn’t just a career milestone for McCreery, but also an occasion that embodied the spirit of country music’s eternal “unbroken circle.” It’s a spirit that’s notably symbolized by the Opry’s center-stage circle, made up of floorboards passed down from the radio show's previous home, the venerable Ryman Auditorium.
Noting that Travis is his own lifelong hero, Turner said, “I stand here tonight proud of the fact that I bridged the gap between the generation of Randy Travis and Scotty McCreery. Only time will tell who will be inspired by Scotty to do great things in this business."
Turner then meditated on “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes,” George Jones ' famous question-in-a-song that fretted about country’s future.
“Scotty is not only a fine singer and a songwriter,” Turner said, “but he’s a great man, husband, and now father. I’m proud of him.” Turner’s voice caught on those last words, and he paused to collect himself. “I’m proud to know him, and I’m proud that he’s filling the shoes of those that have gone before him. With artists like him, country music is in great shape.”
During his acceptance remarks, McCreery had his own struggles to speak when he considered the next generation — specifically, his 18-month-old son, Avery , who was in the audience with McCreery’s wife, Gabi, and other family members and friends.
“One day I’m gonna be able to look at Avery — he might not understand tonight — but one day I’ll tell him, ‘Hey, buddy, this was your daddy’s dream,’” McCreery said, trying to keep his tears at bay. “And it came true. So I’ll tell him to go chase his dreams, as well, because one day it could come true for you, buddy.”
During his news conference, McCreery reflected on the influence that the Opry has had on his life and ambitions. Growing up in North Carolina, he said, his first awareness of the Opry came from the vividly recalled stories that his mother told him about her pilgrimage to the country mecca long before he was born. "Whispering" Bill Anderson was on the bill that night, and in another "circle" moment, the 86-year-old Opry member performed before McCreery on Saturday; the Hall of Famer expressed his excitement about the induction during his set.
McCreery's first Opry visit, on June 9, 2011, was to be introduced onstage, along with Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina , by fellow Idol winner and Opry member Carrie Underwood soon after his own victory.
“We didn’t sing that night,” McCreery said, “but I came back a few days later and got to sing … I’m sure my knees were just shaking ... but I had a blast. And I think I remember saying something like, ‘So we’re gonna play one of my songs,’ and it’s because I only had one song at that point! We played a couple covers after that.”
An Opry favorite, McCreery continued making appearances over the next few years. At age 22, dropped by his first label and struggling to reboot his career, he showed up at the Opry in June 2016 with “Five More Minutes,” a song he’d co-written that was inspired by the loss of his beloved grandfathers.
“It was my very first standing ovation that I’d ever received at the Grand Ole Opry,” McCreery recounted to Saturday’s Opry crowd, “and I thought to myself that night that we might be on to something.”
The song definitely worked its magic, attracting a new label and eventually becoming the first of McCreery’s five No. 1 singles. He’s now chasing his sixth with current top 10 hit “Cab in a Solo” (which he also performed in his set, along with “Fall of Summer,” both off his upcoming album).
“It’s been a heck of a ride,” McCreery said, “but it all started — changed the path of my life — right here in this circle, singing this song.”
With that, McCreery topped off his induction night performing “Five More Minutes.” When he reached the song’s final verse — which describes a family at a grandfather's deathbed — he paused to proclaim, “Oh, both my granddaddies would have loved to have been here!” Then casting a glance upward, he said simply, “We did it.”
After that, who would have expected him to get through the next few lines? He could hardly choke out the lyrics as the audience cheered, wept, and sung out to the now-familiar tune.
McCreery is destined to have many more opportunities to perform the hit again at the Opry. As a member, he’s entitled to its stage for the rest of his life, and at the news conference, he said that privilege was already giving him something to look forward to when he turns 70. In the meantime, though, he has another important task to tend to.
As he told the Opry audience, “I gotta go home and start writing a new bucket list.”
