In 2021, Mötley Crüe celebrated their 40th band anniversary, as well as the 40th birthday of their iconic debut album, TOO FAST FOR LOVE. The 35th anniversary of their GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS hit album is coming up on May 15. Mötley Crüe have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, achieving 7 platinum and multi-platinum albums, 9 Top 10 albums, 22 Top 40 Mainstream Rock hits, 6 Top 20 Pop singles and 3 GRAMMY nominations. ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES Def Leppard are one of the most important forces in rock music. In 2019, the icons closed out a sold-out worldwide tour including a North American stadium run & headlining the UK’s Download Festival to 90k screaming fans. Def Leppard’s star continues to rise and prevail. The band have amassed a staggering 5.5 billion streams since 2018, reaching a younger 18-44 demographic that now represents 58% of their fanbase. Additionally, the band have garnered an impressive 15 million followers across their social media platforms. “On behalf of the band, we’re beyond thrilled that the stadium tour is finally happening this summer … it’s been a while coming and we can’t wait to get back on stage again & we can’t wait to see you in one of the many stadiums soon!” said Joe Elliott.

POISON will be bringing a rocking real and relevant no holds barred thunderous live show to the Stadium tour this summer with the all original lineup of Bret Michaels, C.C. DeVille, Bobby Dall and Rikki Rockett. POISON will be unleashing an onslaught of hit after hit songs in its set. The humanitarian of the year, two years running, Michaels along with POISON is known to bring a unique style of passionate high energy, sincere gratitude and a positive attitude.  Michaels engages all the fans and makes it an absolute epic ride of true live music. Together With C.C.Deville on guitar, Bobby Dall on bass, and Rikki Rockett on drums POISON will rock the stadium with a chemistry that will bring a big summer mega party vibe and Michaels promises to give 1000 % on the stage as the hotter it gets the harder POISON promises to rock!!!

Poison’s Bret Michaels also added: “There are not enough words to thank the three generations of fans for making this such an exciting, record breaking, historical tour with the fastest sell outs in history at these stadiums.”

Joan Jett grew up during a time when rock ‘n’ roll was off limits to girls and women, but as a teenager, she promptly blew the door to the boys’ club right off its hinges. After forming her band the Blackhearts in 1979, with whom Jett has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she has had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.” With a career that has spanned music, film, television, Broadway, and humanitarianism, Joan Jett remains a potent force and inspiration to generations of fans worldwide. As a producer, she has overseen seminal albums by Bikini Kill, and the Germs’ LA punk masterpiece ‘GI.’ Jett and Kenny Laguna (her longtime producer and music partner) co-founded Blackheart Records from the trunk of Kenny’s Cadillac after rejections from no less than 23 labels. 40 years later, Blackheart is a thriving entertainment company producing music, film and television, and continues to champion emerging bands. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts continue touring the globe with headlining shows alongside fellow rock legends like The Who, Green Day, Heart, and Foo Fighters. After two COVID-19 postponements, the group will return to the road in summer 2022 for The Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Poison. ‘Bad Reputation,’ a documentary about Jett’s life, premiered to critical acclaim at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and is now available for streaming.

“We are so excited to be back out on the road! We missed doing what we love most and can’t wait to see the fans out there again!” said Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Emerging rock band Classless Act, signed to Better Noise Music, is set to open the tour. With the release of their single “Give It To Me” in 2021, the band has already received critical praise from the likes of rock media including SPIN, Loudwire, and more. Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee was an early follower of the band and is excited to have them join him and his bandmates on the road, saying, “I remember when we went out with Ozzy in 1984 and how it was an insane game changer!! We literally blew up after having that opportunity to play live in front of 20,000 people every f***ing night! Since then, we’ve always felt it was important to help new bands; whether it was Guns N Roses, Skid Row or so many others.  This summer we’re gonna help out Classless Act.”

THE STADIUM TOUR

We wanted to reach out to all of our amazing fans and let you know that we’ve been hard at work preparing an amazing show. Our priority during this unprecedented time is to make sure that we are being as thoughtful and responsible as possible in the decisions we are making regarding the stadium tour and that we are putting the fans’ health, well being and safety first and foremost. We are currently weighing all options and are awaiting further direction from the powers that be. Our goal is to have an official update to everyone by  June 1 outlining exactly how we will proceed. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy. We can’t wait to see you all again.

Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx Returns to Seattle, WA – T-Mobile Park 2022 – The Stadium Tour – PHOTOS/VIDEO

stadium tour seattle 2022

I remember going to see bands play here in Seattle as a teenager with a head full of ideas and dreams in the ’70s. So many concerts at the Paramount Theatre which opened in 1928. Slept many nights on the sidewalk outside so we would be the first to get tickets. Worked odd jobs, sold weed and hustled for money and got our clothes from thrift stores and bargain bins.
Years later, on the Shout at The Devil Toür, we played the Paramount. Blew my mind to play the same place I saw Queen, Rush, T Rex, Kiss and many, many others as they were starting out. All those bands were about solid songwriting and kick ass shows. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when you’re talking influence.
SEE YOU TOMORROW (8/31) BTW This isn’t a life that’s handed to you. You have to fight tooth and nail for every scrap – And never quit until you die. That’s why we’re called LIFERs. Thank you, Seattle, for lighting that fire.
Tomorrow, we play the T-Mobile Park stadium 🏟

The first visit here was in October 1981 at Moore Theatre supporting Blackfoot on the High 'n' Dry tour.

Two shows followed at Seattle Center Coliseum in 1983 with Billy Squier and returning as headliners.

The first gap between Seattle shows then happened as they did not appear again until October 1992 on the Adrenalize tour.

The 2003 show would be the next time they returned making this one of the least played major U.S. cities.

Show #32 - Return To Seattle

19 long years since the band played a show in the city of Seattle, WA.

They returned to play their third different venue in the city.

All previous visits from 1981 to 2003 taking place at either the Seattle Center Coliseum/Key Arena (now Climate Pledge Arena) and Moore Theatre.

Many shows have been played in Washington state since 2003 but mostly in Auburn, WA (27 miles from Seattle).

The last visit was in September 2018 at the spectacular Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA 150 miles from Seattle.

The most recent area show in Washington was June 2017 in Spokane.

The Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA was played in October 2016 some 32 miles away so they have been close and even based themselves here but no show in the actual city for 19 years.

Everett, WA was also played in late 2005 which is about 28 miles North of the city and the closest they came to another arena show here since 2003.

Another Outdoor Show

The second of two shows in a row with Def Leppard closing ahead of two by Motley Crue in Canada.

T-Mobile Park was bathed in sunshine at 84F temps as the show kicked off with the roof open.

Another venue with a massive retractable roof which slides over to one side of the stadium.

It stands next to the larger Lumen Field NFL stadium (home of the Seattle Seahawks) and near the appropriately named Elliott Bay.

The show started promptly at 9:30pm with 'Take What You Want'.

And when 'Let It Go' kicked in right after the crowd showed they were very LOUD and very vocal.

Another 17 song setlist with no changes and this crowd sang along to every song.

A triumphant return to Seattle for the band after 19 years of not playing in the city centre and their biggest crowd played to here or anywhere in Washington State with potentially over 40,000 fans.

City Backdrop/Roof Lights

The stadium having it's roof open gave fans a great view of the city skyline off to Vivian's side of the stage.

All of the major buildings in the city visible and for some fans on Phil's side a view in the distance of the Space Needle, the city's most famous landmark.

The lights on the edge of the retractable roof were lit up through the show in various colours.

The X shaped beams had LED lights on them making massive arch of X's lighting up the sky above not unlike the Wembley Stadium arch (which may feature in the tour in 2023...).

The Weeknd

The Weeknd has announced dates for his “After Hours Til Dawn” stadium tour, which launches in his hometown of Toronto on July 8 and heads across North America before wrapping in Los Angeles on Sept. 2 and then moving overseas. Dates for Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa and the Middle East will be announced in the coming weeks. Full dates for the North American leg of the tour, which is produced by Live Nation, appear below; Doja Cat supports on all dates.

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian organization fighting global hunger, has partnered with the Weeknd, its Goodwill Ambassador, to launch the XO Humanitarian Fund, to which he is contributing $1 from each ticket sold in North America from the tour. The Weeknd will also make a donation of $500,000 and $1 million will be contributed by World Food Program USA to the fund. According to the announcement, the Weeknd established this fund to support the U.N. World Food Programme’s critical food assistance to communities on the brink of starvation, in countries like Ukraine, Ethiopia, Madagascar and Yemen. The Fund is administered by World Food Program USA.

“The goal with this fund is to provide immediate life-saving support to people who are on the brink of starvation. I’m so thankful to have WFP as a partner and to further expand our reach to those who need it most,” the Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) said. In 2020 and 2021, the Weeknd donated more than $2.5 million to Covid-19 relief and relief efforts to the famine in Ethiopia and the August 2020 explosion in Lebanon, which killed more than 200 people.

Popular on Variety

“As he launches his global tour, the Weeknd is not just lighting up the lives of his millions of fans – he is also shining a spotlight on the suffering of the millions threatened by famine. The XO Humanitarian Fund, Powered by World Food Programme is a new dawn in the struggle to end global hunger and WFP is proud to partner with Abel to save lives. He is truly an inspiration to the next generation of humanitarians,” WFP Executive Director David Beasley said in a statement.

Tickets for the North American dates go on sale beginning Thursday, March 10 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans who previously had tickets for the “After Hours” arena tour in North America — which was scheduled for 2020 and then canceled due to the pandemic — will have access to a special presale starting March 4, and will receive an email prior to that date directly with more information.

Verizon will offer an exclusive presale for The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn Tour” in the U.S through the customer loyalty program Verizon Up. Members will have first access to purchase presale tickets for select shows beginning Monday, March 7th at 10 a.m. local time, through Wednesday, March 9th at 10 p.m. local time. There will also be a Spotify Fans First presale for the top streamers of the Weeknd starting March 8.

The tour marks the first concerts the Weeknd will play in support of his 2020 album “After Hours” and his recently released “Dawn FM.” According to the announcement, “the tour will see his most ambitious production to date reflecting the creative journey that continues to unfold for both these albums, creating worlds within worlds as we have all been watching unfold in various television performances, music videos and short films bringing these first two pieces of his trilogy to life.”

Earlier this week, Prime Video debuted “The Weeknd x The Dawn FM Experience,” an immersive music special.
