1.     Offer Terms.   At our discretion, Virgin Voyages will offer onboard credits (i.e., “Sailor Loot” in our brand voice) when a Guest (or “Sailor”) refers an additional Sailor to book a cabin on the same voyage using an assigned unique referral link. We call this program the “Sail With Friends” offer. FOR A LIMITED TIME the promotional offer of a Sailor Loot referral was increased from the usual $50 to $200. The $200 amount is for new referral links created between May 24, 2022  and June 30th 2022, and is not available for existing sailors who are linked in the “Sail With Friends” program.

These terms and conditions detail this offer.     2.     Eligibility / How the Program Works     a.    Anyone who books a voyage (i.e., places a deposit) with Virgin Voyages will receive a Referral Link. This Referral Link may be shared with another individual who is booking a cabin on the same voyage. We’ll refer to the initial Sailor, who offers their Referral Link, as a “Base Sailor.” We’ll refer to the individuals who book a voyage using the Referral Link from the Base Sailor as a “Referred Sailor”. The offer is based per cabin (regardless of the quantity of sailors booked in each Base or Referred cabin booking). 

    b.    If an individual uses the Referral Link from a Base Sailor to book a cabin on the same voyage as the Base Sailor, $50 in Sailor Loot will be credited to the Base Sailor's cabin.  The Referred Sailor who used the referral link will receive $50 in Sailor Loot credited to their cabin as well (“Transaction #1”). The Sailor Loot will be automatically applied upon completion of the booking using the Referral Link.     c.    The Base Sailor may be eligible for Sailor Loot for a maximum of sixteen (16) Referred cabin  bookings. This means a Base Sailor can receive up to a maximum of $800 in Sailor Loot (that is, sixteen (16) Referred Cabins, multiplied by $50 Sailor Loot, “Sail With Friends” offer from each referral) under this “Sail With Friends” offer.     d.    On the ninth Referred Sailor booking using the Base Sailor’s referral link, the collective group will have the option to be converted to a “Circle,” our brand name for group travel with at least ten (10) booked cabins.  See [ Circle Terms and Conditions ].

    e.    When a Referred Sailor books a cabin, he/she/they will also receive a personal Referral Link. The Referred Sailor may share their Referral Link, and when a new individual book using this second Referral Link, the said Referred Sailor will become a Base Sailor (we’ll call this “Transaction #2”). The Referred Sailor that becomes a new Base Sailor (from Transaction #2), will receive the $50 Sailor Loot from the Transaction #1 and another $50 Sailor Loot from Transaction #2. The new Referred Sailor from Transaction #2 will receive the $50 Sailor Loot.  The original Base Sailor from Transaction #1 will not receive any Sailor Loot from Transaction #2.

3.    Exclusions / Caveats     a.    The Sailor Loot is standard across all cabin/suite categories. If the Base Sailor books a “Sea Terrace” cabin the Sailor Loot they receive under this offer remains unchanged regardless of whether his/her Referred Sailor books a cabin, a RockStar Quarters, or Mega RockStar Quarters.     b.     Group / “Circle” Reservations .  When a group of Sailors has reached a party of 10 or more booked cabins on the same sailing, they hold the right to convert their party into a “Circle” (as stated in section 2.d) . By converting the group, all booked and linked reservations will forfeit (lose) the Sailor Loot associated with the “Sail With Friends” offer but will be eligible for the associated Circle benefits.      c.     Canceled Reservation.  If either linked Sailor cancels the bookings 120 days before the voyage starts, both Sailors will forfeit (lose) the Sailor Loot associated with the “Sail With Friends” offer, from the associated link from the canceled booking. If the Base Sailor has multiple referrals, the forfeited amount would only be from the one linked Sailor canceling.  If either a Referred Sailor or Base Sailor cancels their booking within final payment (120 days prior to their voyage) after having paid the non-refundable deposit, then the remaining Sailor (either the Base or Referred Sailor) is eligible to keep the Sailor Loot on the booking from referring the other Sailor (Base or Referred) and using the referral link.  d.     Applicability to Travel Agents.  Travel Agents registered with Virgin Voyages (i.e., “First Mates” in our branding voice) may link bookings under this program on behalf of a Sailor who booked through that First Mate. The First Mate is responsible if at any time the link “breaks,” meaning any of the linked reservations cancel, resulting in the Sailor Loot dropping off of the canceled reservations and the Base Sailor's reservation. All Sailor Loot increments received from “Sail With Friends” are non-commissionable.     e.    This Offer can change at any time, without notice. We reserve the right to remove the Sailor Loot from bookings in relation to this program for any Sailor or prohibit any Sailor from participating in the program for chicanery, gamesmanship, or should signs of abuse be present.     f.     Combinability.  The “Sail With Friends” offer is combinable with most other promotions, particularly individual and public, non-circle promotions. “Sail With Friends” offer is not combinable with Circle offers, Interline rates, Tour Operator rates, sailors traveling on Friends and Family, gifted, or charter voyages, or who travel on a deeply discounted voyage fare (i.e., voyage fares of $100/day or less). Shipload of Love offer, and First Mates’, no-charge access keys, are also excluded.  Persons boarding for solely pier-side events do not qualify.     g.     Eligible voyages.  The higher promotional Sailor Loot amount is available on select revenue voyages on or after May 24th, 2022. Any full-ship accommodation voyages (i.e., Charter voyages) and contractual Circles are excluded from this offer.

6 Cruise Lines That Will Pay You for Referring a Friend

Did you know there are at least 6 cruise lines that will pay you in onboard credit just for referring a friend or family member? From $25 to $250, these referral bonuses can add up and give you reason to splurge a little more on your next vacation at sea.

In this article we will examine what cruise lines have this referral program and what it takes to pocket that extra cruise money.

Having some onboard credit at your disposal once you get on a cruise ship is a great feeling. And since you can’t take it home with you, you might as well get that spa treatment, dine at a specialty restaurant, or grab some souvenirs from the gift shop, all thanks to a referral bonus.

All of these programs require that the person you are referring has never sailed with that cruise line before in order to be eligible. So keep that mind before you start blasting cruise groups on Facebook.

1.  Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises has a referral program that rewards you with $25 in onboard spending money for every new friend you refer to the cruise line. And your friend will also get $25 in OBC (OnBoard Credit), so there’s extra incentive on their end as well.

To participate, your friend must be new to Princess and cannot already have an active booking with the line. Once your referral completes their final payment, the onboard credit will appear in your account. There are a few restrictions to keep in mind, like the fact that the program is only available to residents of the United States and Canada, and your friend needs to have a valid Princess Cruises account on Princess.com .

You can refer as many friends as you’d like, but you can only earn $25 in onboard spending money from each referral one time. Also, you’ll have up to two years to use the onboard credit, and there’s a maximum of two referrals per booking.

To refer your friends, scroll to the bottom of the Princess.com homepage and look for the “Cruise Deals” section in the footer. Under that, you’ll find the “Refer-a-Friend” link. Click it, enter your name and email address, and you’ll receive a share link to use.

So if you’re looking for some extra spending money on your next Princess cruise, spread the word to some friends who are on the fence about cruising.

2.  Holland America Line

Holland America Line’s Mariner Society loyalty program offers a Refer a Friend program to reward members who refer new guests to the cruise line. When a new guest, who has not previously sailed with Holland America Line, books a trip, they will receive a $50 onboard credit per person. The person who referred them will receive a $50 Future Cruise Credit to use towards their next Holland America Line voyage as well.

To be eligible for the Refer a Friend program, past guests must have a Mariner ID. However, every person who sails with Holland America Line is automatically enrolled in the Mariner Society loyalty program.

The onboard credit can be used towards a range of amenities, such as specialty dining, spa services, shore excursions, and gift shop purchases. The Future Cruise Credit can be applied to any of Holland America Line’s cruises around the world, and the line offers quite a few exotic destinations with its voyages.

3.  Seabourn

Luxury cruise line Seabourn has a referral program to thank its Seabourn Club members for recommending their services to friends and family. Seabourn Club members who refer first-time guests receive a $250 per-suite credit, which can be used on the same voyage or one in the future.

To take advantage of this program, Seabourn Club members simply register the referred guests on Seabourn’s website and submit a Referral Rewards redemption form to receive the onboard credit. The first-time guests also receive the same $250 per-suite credit, making the offer even more enticing to new cruisers with the line.

The great thing about this program is that there is no limit to how many times a Seabourn Club member can refer new guests. Plus, members can combine up to two rewards on any one voyage, allowing them to earn up to $500 in OBC.

When you travel with Viking for the first time, you will automatically become a member of the Viking Explorer Society program. As a member, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • A $200 travel credit per passenger when you book a Viking voyage within one year of your last Viking trip. If you book within two years, you will receive a $100 credit. It’s worth noting that the credit can only be used to pay for a trip with Viking.
  • Invitation to a private cocktail party for Viking Explorer Society members when sailing on Viking ships.
  • Early access to new Viking Cruises itineraries and new ships, as well as exclusive limited-time offers.

It’s important to note that the credits mentioned above may not be combined with other promotions offered by the line.

In addition to these benefits, Viking also has a referral program that can earn you additional travel credits. Once you become a Viking customer, you can refer an unlimited number of other people to Viking using your customer number. If the person you refer books a trip with Viking within a year, both of you will receive a $100 travel credit.

If you manage to refer 13 people to Viking who take their first Viking cruise within one calendar year, you will receive a much more lucrative perk: a free cruise worth up to $3,300. However, if the person you refer shares a cabin with you on their first cruise, you will only receive the referral credit if you are already a member of the Viking Explorer Society.

Note that if the person you refer to Viking shares a cabin with you on her or his first cruise, you only will get the referral credit if you are already a Viking Explorer Society member.

5.  Regent Seven Seas

If you’re thinking of cruising with Regent Seven Seas Cruises , you’ll like this perk. Once you complete your first voyage with them, you automatically become a member of their Seven Seas Society, which is a family of past guests. It’s an exclusive club, and there’s no membership fee, which is a plus.

There are different tiers of membership based on the number of nights sailed, starting with the Bronze level for new members, Silver at 21 nights sailed, Gold at 75 nights, Platinum at 200 nights, and the very top tiers, Diamond and Commodore, reserved for those who have sailed for over 1,000 and 2,000 nights respectively. As you move up the membership tiers, you’ll enjoy more special benefits on board, like invitations to exclusive onboard parties, complimentary laundry service, phone time, and more.

And here’s the best part: even if you’ve only sailed once with Regent, you can become a Regent Ambassador by referring friends and family to the company. If your friends decide to take a Regent cruise, you’ll both receive some nice perks, including a $250 Future Cruise Credit added to both of your profiles when the new guest books their first Regent cruise. No need to sail together; you can travel separately and still enjoy the rewards.

So, if you know someone who’s already a member of the Seven Seas Society, ask them to be your Regent Ambassador and help you get started on your luxury cruise experience. And if you’re already a member, start talking to your friends and let the rewards roll in!

6.  Windstar Cruises

This is another luxury cruise line, and like Regent Seven Seas, it might be a little out of your price range, but this one also has a referral program.

Once you’re a member of the Yacht Club with Windstar you can refer a friend and receive $100 of onboard credit. That is $100 for each friend you refer if it is their first cruise with the cruise line.

Each referral will also receive $100 of Shipboard Credit that they can use on their first cruise with Windstar. The credit is placed on their accounts after final payment has been made.

Final Thoughts

Holland America and Princess are probably more in the price range for most of us, and while $25 and $50 may not seem like much per referral, it can really add up if you talk about your favorite cruise line a lot and want to reap some rewards for being a cruise line ambassador.

It doesn’t cost you anything extra, and let’s be honest, if you’re trying to get a friend on a cruise ship, you’re only doing them a favor, even OBC aside.

Bonus credit for Sailors who bring their friends

It’s a solid win-win situation when your Sailors share their voyage with their friends. Not only will they make memories together on a vacation unlike any other, but they’ll receive $50 in onboard credit for every friend they refer who books on their voyage. 

And, when those friends book through you, it’s really a win-win-win. 

How it works:

  • For each booking that results from a Sailor’s referral, the Sailor receives $50 in onboard credit.
  • The $50 onboard credit referral bonus is per cabin, not per Sailor.
  • The referral bonus is only applicable to bookings made for the Sailor’s same voyage.
  • Hot tip: Tell your Sailors that, if they have any friends they’d like to bring along on their voyage, you can also take care of those bookings and link the Sailor to their successful referrals in the booking engine of FirstMates.com.
  • Sailors may refer many friends to book to join their voyage, but the onboard credit referral bonus maxes out at $800, equal to 16 bookings.

We’re leaving it to you to share this new opportunity with your Sailors. The program is now available to you in the FirstMates.com booking engine but we are not actively promoting it to Sailors just yet. It’s the perfect time to take a look at what current bookings you have, reach out to those Sailors and introduce the program to them. Make sure they tell their friends to book through you, their awesome First Mate, so you can link their referrals.

With our Refer-A-Friend program, you can invite family and friends to sign up for Vonage service. If they join and remain a Vonage customer in good standing for more than 60 days, you both receive a $50 e-gift card redemption code via email. The redemption code is used to redeem an e-gift card for one of over 50 nationally recognized retailers .

Invite Friends and Family

  • Sign in to your Online Account.
  • Click the Billing & Payment tab and select Refer-A-Friend .
  • Click on your icon of choice to communicate request by Email, Facebook, Twitter or a Personal Link .
  • Follow steps based on the option you select.
  • Close window when done.

Check Referral Status

  • Click Email My Stats .
  • Click Email My Dashboard . Email is sent with your current referral information.

Redeem E-Gift Card

After all eligibility requirements have been met, the referrer (current Vonage customer) and referee (new Vonage customer) each receive an email with a personalized e-gift card redemption code.

Follow the link in the email to the  redemption site and enter your personalized redemption code.

How long does it take to receive my e-gift card redemption code email? The new Vonage account of the person that you referred must remain open and in good standing for 60 days. The account must be a valid referral with all eligibility requirements met. See Vonage Referral Terms and Conditions.

What if I can't find my reward email and have not made a gift card selection yet, what should I do? The email with your reward code is sent to the email address you provided to Vonage when you signed up for service. As long as the reward has not been redeemed, you can email [email protected] for a copy of the redemption code.

Is there a limit to the number of referrals I can make? There is no limited to the number of referrals you can make. There is, however, a limit of 11 $50 e-gift cards per calendar year for a maximum amount of $550 per customer.

How should my friend or family member sign up for new service? Your friend or family member should follow the link provided in the email they receive when you refer them. If for any reason they do not have the link, or lost it, they can subscribe for new service at www.vonage.com and provide your Vonage phone number during the sign up process.

• You can receive a payment or voucher to the value of up to £300 just by referring someone you know to join our team!

• If they are successful in being appointed – you will receive a payment/voucher payable in 2 parts – £100 after confirmation that the new team member has completed 1 month service and £200 after the 6-month probationary period has been successfully completed.
