- • Rating 3.98 out of 5 101 reviews
Works Here: Working at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School has been the best experience of my life. I honestly look forward to getting in my car and driving to work every single day to support the entire community - the students, the employees and the parents. The amazing and kind-hearted people, school mission, values and beautiful Hill Country campus located on nearly 400-acres create a dream scenario and workplace. Not only do I deeply enjoy the work I do, but my cup is filled everyday by those around me - from students to parents to employees. Our unique residential program, where many students and employees live on campus creates a true family atmosphere where people truly care about each other. ... Read 101 reviews

Alum: Throughout my school years, I witnessed significant personal growth. I became more confident in expressing my opinions, embraced my strengths and weaknesses, and discovered my passions. By the time I got to High school, my teachers had prepared me for very challenging AP classes along with preparing me for competitions like Science Fair and Debate. The school is like a family. Everyone is close to one another. One of the best parts is our yearly school retreats, where we spend 3 days and 2 nights at state parks every year to build strong bonds with one another. This is something I will cherish forever. ... Read 119 reviews

St. Andrew's Episcopal School
- • Rating 4.15 out of 5 84 reviews
Parent: There is a reason that St Andrews has a stellar reputation and that is because it truly stands out from so many other schools. From the gifted teachers to the incredibly talented Theater Production Company to the diversity of the sports offered, and the impeccable administration, facilities and resources, this school consistently sets the bar higher each and every day. I do think the art department could get more involved with creative contests and competitions, but that aside, the school is truly exceptional. Most importantly, my daughter is really happy at St Andrews and to me that says it all! ... Read 84 reviews

St. Gabriel's + St. Michael's Catholic School
- • Rating 4.18 out of 5 109 reviews
Senior: My overall experience with St. Michael's Catholic Academy has been very positive. The opportunities this school has given to me have changed my life and my career goals. I have been exposed to so many new ideas and people that have influenced the way I think about education. The teachers at St. Michales are so supportive and I was able to form close bonds with my teachers and I knew that I could come to them for help no matter what it was. St. Michales is a place where I was able to explore my creative side through their amazing music program. This program helped me build confidence and showed me that if I dream it I really can do it. Because of this music program I will now be pursuing music in college, and have developed a love for music that will stay with me forever. Although no school is perfect, I'd say St. Michael's was the perfect school for me, and gave me an amazing high school experience that I will forever be grateful for. ... Read 109 reviews

Headwaters School
- • Rating 4.08 out of 5 13 reviews
Junior: The teachers are the best part about Headwaters. They show genuine care for your success (both academically and personally), and are literally your best friends. The small class sizes bolster these teacher-student connections and make being a student here really special. The community here is tight-knit: the student body is supportive of each other and not competitive at all. Although this means that you can't be "invisible" for day, and people sometimes know too much about each other, the positives of being in a smaller school outweigh the negatives. ... Read 13 reviews

Middle school student: Overall, the middle school is great. The teachers are mostly nice except for a few who may be strict or just flat out rude. The admin is nice and they have since updated the VPs so it is much nicer and easier to work with. The students can be out of hand sometimes and the teachers sometimes don’t know how to handle it. The students behavior is usually well handled by administration depending on the incident. As I said before the teachers are nice but sometimes the instruction is not fully completed so it can be easy to miss information. Overall I’d say B ... Read 5 reviews

Parent: We have absolutely loved being part of the BCS community. Our son has gone there for 2 years now and as a kindergartener we are blown away by how much he has learned (he’s doing math like a champ and reading already). Also, his teachers have been so loving and patient; while also direct on their expectations. He does come home with reminders fairly often, but we appreciate that the school is keeping us updated on opportunities for behavior improvements. It really feels like we are working together to raise kind children that reflect God’s love. Also, we are considering a move to Dallas-Fort Worth to be closer to family and everyone from our kids teacher, to after school teachers, to administration and even the principle have been so supportive and willing to help us. BCS is good people. Plus I think the parents have all been cool folks and their kids are super sweet! Chaparral Star Academy
- • Rating 4.21 out of 5 42 reviews
Parent: My son has only been there for 1 semester and is thriving. He was homeschooled and some alternative schools he tried were not a fit. Chaparral has been supportive of the transition. I was quite skeptical re: the ability of a public school to accommodate an accelerated learner like he is, but since our first visit the school counselor was understanding of the situation and eventually worked out an adequate course placement. The teachers care for the kids, and some of them are outright hilarious, while classes and topics are highly engaging. Homework is rigorous, but not dull and / or to the test, as some reviews said… actually always quite interesting. The student body is quite diverse and I’m shocked some talked about racism. Is everything perfect? No school is! But when issues arise they are resolved promptly, and I appreciate this more than the apparent perfection other schools claim. I’m seeing my son thrive every day and I feel this has been the best decision we have made for him. ... Read 42 reviews

Regents School of Austin
- • Rating 4 out of 5 89 reviews
Parent: Have sent two children through Regents K-12 and can't say enough good things. Excellent, inspiring teachers who mentored and cared about my kids. Both have been well prepared for college, my oldest is now pre-med at a well ranked University. Parents are very involved, volunteerism is high. Fine arts is excellent, athletics also excellent-- and kids can actually do both! So many opportunities for kids here. If you are a parent who wants to drop your kids off at school and forget about them, and stay unengaged from your kids and let other people raise them, this is not the school for you. A lot is required / expected of Regents families in terms of involvement and volunteering, so if that scares you look elsewhere. It's a community in the best way. ... Read 89 reviews

My kids friends all love going to school as well. It is a loving, caring environment that you can feel the moment you walk onto the campus. Beautiful facilities. Parent: CRMS is full of caring teachers. Generally speaking, the school does things in a similar way as other schools in upper middle class districts. I don't see a ton of innovation or out-of-the-box thinking, but academically the kids do well. If your kid is into band or sports, there's a vibrant community for them. You don't hear as much about the other activities because, let's face it, Texas cares about sports the most. But there are other things like art, theater, journalism, etc. The main downside I see is that there is very little diversity (economic, religious or racial). And too many entitled kids and families. Overall I'm satisfied, but not blown away. ... Read 4 reviews

Other: I have four grandchildren attending the Austin Waldorf School and have been very involved in the school for about 6 years .I cannot describe how impressed I am with the pedagogy at this school and how if helps children grow into themselves over the 12 year span. Yes it is a wonderful place to learn information but it is a better place to practice how to learn this information for yourself ,how to find and build on your strengths, and how to be thoughtful friend, classmate and teammate. 97% of the students graduating attend college and almost all attend the college of their choice. That is the experience of the granddaughter I have graduating this year . It is very experiential and involves an abiding respect for and experience of nature. It also involves a very regulated and limited early exposure to technology that encourages an extended period of innocence and self reliance . It may be the best investment you will ever make for your children . Find the website. Take a tour . ... Read 24 reviews

Senior: As someone who has been at RRCA for 9 years, there are many different things to talk about. First, the staff here is usually very beneficial, providing great answers to questions asked by the student. Additionally, departments like musical theater are a fantastic way for students to express themselves and be able to have fun. However, the curriculum at RRCA is likely more rigorous than at other places, considering how one of the school's primary priorities is preparing the students for college an their futures. Overall though, the school is a good place to learn and, while minuscule changes could be changed to things like the bell schedule, can truly benefit those who desire a spectacular education. ... Welcome to the future of middle and high school education!
ATI Austin's middle and high school program is unique: a deliberately planned and charted curriculum of foundational skills that open a greater and greater number of possible paths. Our students don’t just memorize—they understand, apply, and integrate knowledge to pursue their own passions!

Why Choose ATI Austin?
Academic Rigor for the Real World
Students are challenged and get the preparation they need to be successful in school and life. Our graduates go on to college, create their own companies, and become global citizens.
- Students do real work in the world
- They serve as a productive members of the community
- They realize their natural desire for independence
We foster a love of learning
Learning is a lifelong pursuit, and we help students discover their own love of learning and watch as it motivates them to expand their knowledge.
Intentionally Small Classes
AT ATI Austin, we choose to have small class sizes because we believe that is the best way to give students the personalized attention – through our unique teaching and coaching structure – that they need to grow and explore.
In a small school community, our students learn and practice self-governance, interdependence, and conflict resolution, gaining a sense of ownership and pride for the community around them.
Learn by doing, not by lecturing
Our Montessori-inspired learning pairs learning academic foundations with real life skill building. Dr. Montessori emphasized that teens should do real work: not just in school, but fully in the world. At ATI Austin, we remove the artificial barrier between the vocational and the avocational; what's required for class and what's chosen for life.
One-on-One Coaching
Every ATI Austin student is paired with a coach, who meets one-on-one to help define the student's values, set goals, take risks, and chart their own path. The coaching curriculum has been built by educational experts and psychologists to support the process of self-creation that is so fundamental to adolescence. The coaching process emphasizes:
- Self-efficacy
- Self-creation
Small school communities, globally connected
ATI Austin is a tight-knit community that is also connected to a global network, allowing students to learn from industry experts, take part in unique electives, find mentors in your field, and connect with peers around the country and world.
The Academy of Thought and Industry Austin has received accreditation by Cognia™ and WASC, the Accrediting Commission for Schools Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means that the system and all of its domestic and international schools are accredited, and that ATI is recognized across the nation as meeting the Cognia Standards of Quality. ACS WASC accredits elementary and secondary schools; non-degree granting adult schools; and supplementary education programs.
What parents are saying.
I love this school. I was a steadfast believer in public schools, until my daughter reached middle school. She spiraled through her 3 years at middle school, not being heard or listened to (except by a few) and was pushed aside for numerous reasons. By the time she got to 8th grade, I had watched my daughter go from a bright student who loved school and learning to a student who thought she lacked all intellectual capabilities and hated going to school... (At ATI) she has rediscovered her intellectual spark and her creative passions. Rather than being left in the dark as parent, we keep in close contact with her guides and her coach. I feel more supported as a parent than I have ever felt through out my daughter's career as a student.
ATI Austin Parent
Public school is not for everyone. I have 2 sons - one of whom excels in a traditional school environment, and the other who was stifled and frustrated by it. I am so grateful for ATI Austin and what the school has done, even within a short time, for my son's love of learning and outlook on school and education. I never thought I would hear him say that he loves school, but whenever anyone asks him about it, that is exactly what he says.
My son enjoys the small community, the care, and individualized support of his Guides (Teachers) and the overarching vision of learning in support of the whole person at ATI. ATI's approach and learning structure provide opportunities for deep engagement with complex content supporting the development of critical thinking skills. ATI aligns student interests, creativity, and talents towards individual learning goals by honoring student voice and choice.
Frequently asked questions, what is the tuition at ati austin.

Student Outcomes
ATI Austin’s ultimate goal is to create students who thrive: living happy, fulfilled, and productive lives. We work with each student to identify their own values, set specific goals, and learn how to achieve them. This process gives them a sense of accomplishment, and prepares them for a variety of paths in life.
Many of our students choose to pursue higher education, and to date we have a 100% placement rate for college-bound seniors . In addition to their coach and guides, students work with a full-time, licensed college counselor.

Austin Middle School is named after the late Ms. Irma C. Austin (July 31,1916 – June 20, 1993) a dedicated teacher who inspired many. Being a native of Paulding County, she taught approximately thirty-six years in various grade levels. She began her teaching career in 1940 at the old Burnt Hickory School. She continued her service at Dallas High, Hiram Elementary and Hiram High Schools. Mrs. Austin was also an original faculty member of today’s Paulding County High School.
As a result of her commitment and compassion, Ms. Austin was honored by one of her students as the “Star Teacher” of Dallas High School in 1968. Additionally, she was selected to represent our district as Paulding County Teacher of the Year in 1977.
Once retired, Ms. Austin continued her service to the students of Paulding County by returning to substitute teach and volunteer in the local schools. She frequently could be seen providing valued “story-times” at Dallas and New Georgia elementary schools. Additionally, Ms. Austin expressed her love for children and learning by judging Social Science Fairs for Hiram, P. B. Ritch, and McGarity elementary schools.
Ms. Austin’s commitment to Paulding County extended beyond the classroom. Following her career in education, she served as a Magistrate Judge for several years, on the Paulding County Revision Commission for six years, and on the Board of Tax Equalization. While serving on the Paulding County Library Board, her dedication to children’s literacy inspired her to organize “Friends of the Library” and conduct story times for the children.
As Program Director for the Paulding County Council for the Arts, Ms. Austin became a charter member of Paulding Festivals, Incorporated. Annually, we enjoy the results of her commitment at the popular “Paulding Meadows” event held each year during the weekend following Labor Day.
Ms. Austin’s commitment to literacy continued. She established an adult literacy program, taught several adults to read and write, and later, became involved with the Cobb-Paulding Adult Literacy Program.
Our school community continues to benefit from Ms. Austin’s contributions to children and Paulding County. As we open Irma C. Austin Middle School, her vision continues to thrive within our own commitment to learning and excellence.
Austin Middle School Purpose Statement
The purpose of Irma C. Austin Middle School is to develop a culture where our school community is actively engaged in creating the foundation for the pursuit of life-long learning and future success.
