7 Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit Branson Right Now

Think Branson , Missouri and odds are that you picture a developed, bustling city. Beyond the streets of the “Live Entertainment Capital of the World” is an outdoor adventure paradise right in the heart of the Midwest. Driving the scenic highways and byways in the Ozark Mountains, visitors can find dreamy lakes, canyons lined with waterfalls, and rolling hills overlooking weaving waterways. 

If travel is indeed about the journey and not the destination, then it couldn’t be truer for Branson . Hop in your car and cruise around the shoreline of Table Rock Lake. The best overlooks can be found just off Highway 86 and 265, which runs parallel to the shore near Branson.

The most scenic road trip through the Ozarks, however, can be found at the Dogwood Canyon , a private 10,000-acre nature park owned by Johnny Morris, the founder of Bass Pro Shops. Guests can partake in a jeep tour, which will take them past waterfalls, across trout streams, and to explore caves. 

What’s more, Dogwood Canyon is also home to a wildlife park, which is only accessible on the jeep tour or the tram ride. A unique safari right here in the U.S., you’re likely to see deer, longhorns, and elk. If you’re like me, you may even get stuck in a buffalo traffic jam, which quickly becomes the perfect opportunity for a buffalo selfie.

If you’re apt to explore the outdoors, the water around Branson is home to a bevy of world-class trout fishing. Some of the largest trout in all of Missouri have been caught in Lake Taneycomo that winds through the rolling hills around Branson. It’s here, too, on Lake Taneycomo, that kayaking excursions are offered down the gently flowing waters that feel more like a lake than a river.

Is this the Alps or Ozark Mountains? One of Branson’s most notable accommodations is Chateau on the Lake Resort and Spa . Perched atop the rolling hillside, the resort is reminiscent of the quaint European countryside with chateau-style lodging overlooking Table Rock Lake. 

Fittingly named, Top of the Rock is perhaps the best seat in the house for viewing Table Rock Lake, especially at sunset as the sun casts a shadowy glow on the golf course, chapel, lake, and rolling hills. The area also features a nature trail, natural history museum, wine cellar, and several restaurants.

I asked before but thought maybe no one knew it was a real question...I need to know if the branson travel office is ok to buy tickets from...I want Dixie stampede tickets and they have the best price...I hate to pay more if I don't have to but am scared of being scammed.

Get driving directions to Branson Travel Agency, just type your address below and click Go!

From The North (Springfield) Drive South on US Hwy 65 until you reach the city limits of Branson - you’ll pass a city limits sign on your right. Exit at Branson Hills Parkway/Bee Creek; you’ll see a Home Depot and Target from 65 on a bluff to your right. This is the same exit used to reach theaters for Yakov Smirnoff and the Oak Ridge Boys. Branson Tourism Center is located on the west side of the exit in the Phillips 66 First Stop Travel-Plex that’s immediately on your right after the first traffic light. It’s directly across the street from a plaza with Kohls and Best Buy. Look for the Phillips 66 sign at the top of the exit.

There are several unofficial "Welcome Centers" and "Tourist Information Centers" along Highway 65; watch the Missouri Highway Department signs showing you the distance to Branson; you'll want to wait until you get within the Branson city limits where you'll discover the best deals at Branson Tourism Center!

Traveling from the South (Arkansas) Traveling North on Highway 65 there are 3 Branson exits. Branson Tourism Center is located at the third exit - Bee Creek Road. You'll exit to your right, travel up the ramp and turn left at the traffic light - there are two left turn lanes. As you cross the bridge, you'll see a Phillips 66 First Stop Travel-Plex on a bluff to your right, immediately after the second traffic light. On your left, across the street, you'll see a plaza with Best Buy and Kohls. Branson Tourism Center offices are located in the Travel-Plex.

Thanks Gary we were happy to help you out at a moments notice to get all 11 of your tour guests back to their hotel safely when they show at Presley's ended at 10:00 PM. Larry and Jill

We travelled with Jill from Branson taxi, she looked after us for three days. Her and Larry were great, they know the city well and suggestions of where to go and what to see. Made our visit so relaxing and successful. When we come back we will be calling on them for sure.

My husband and I were very pleased with Branson Taxi Services! We drove everywhere except Silver Dollar City. We didn't want to deal with the parking and traffic on the way back to our hotel after a long day! It was easy to schedule and they were prompt! Branson Taxi service is wonderful. It is very hard to find transportation from the Springfield airport to Branson. Larry and his wife made it easy to communicate with them about times of pickup and departure. Larry was always on time and a very nice gentleman to ride with. He gave several tips of shows to see and places that would be fun for the grandchildren. It is expensive but I would highly recommend them.

We loved taking you around Branson. And just a FYI, we are the the most competitively priced Taxi Service from Springfield Airport to Branson. Uber/Lyft are only $10-$20 less but you NEVER know who’s picking you up and what condition their cars are in. Our Kia is a 2024 Luxury SUV and our Hyundai is a 2022. So glad we helped you and got you around safely. Larry & Jill

Turn-by-Turn Directions to Our Office:

If you’re looking to visit us when you get to town, simply follow the turn-by-turn directions below (they will work whether you’re traveling from the North or South).

• Traveling on Highway 65 (from the North or South) you will take the Highway 76 Country Music Boulevard exit (aka “The Strip”)
• At the Highway 76 exit stoplight you will make a right turn and head toward the Branson Landing and Downtown Branson
• As you make your way downtown, you will approach a stoplight (at the intersection of Main Street & Business 65)
• Go straight through the stoplight
• You will then come upon a stop sign (the intersection of Commercial and Main St.) – make a left turn at this stop sign onto Commercial Street
• At the end of the block on the right side of the road is our office (at the intersection of Atlantic Street & Commercial Street)

Please note that there is a North Commercial Street and South Commercial Street, our office is located on the north end of the street (behind Dicks 5 & 10).
