7 Dazzling Places To See Christmas Lights In Las Vegas

Don't miss these gorgeous light displays, some the biggest in the world, others selling famous hot chocolate.

Jessica Ramos

The holidays are near and a place with as much glitz and glam as Las Vegas should have some spectacular holiday light shows to match right? They sure do, and we’ve rounded up 7 of the biggest, most glittering light displays around the city. Some have been dazzling locals and tourists for 3 decades while others are making their debut this season. Without further ado, here are 7 dazzling places to see Christmas lights in Las Vegas.

christmas light tour las vegas

Enchant is the world’s largest illuminated winter wonderland. Silver and gold lights shaped like snowflakes and trees line this gorgeous light-studded maze, suited for the entire family. Head to Resorts World to see this magical Christmas light display from November 2nd to December 31st, with adult tickets costing only $34 and $25 for junior tickets. This year’s theme, Santa’s Magic Timepiece, is a glittering interactive maze where you can search for the eight missing star fragments Santa needs in order to save Christmas, perfectly suited for kids. Afterward, wander the village for small vendors serving seasonl treats, drinks, and handmade artisan wares, or go ice skating through a dazzling forest of Christmas lights in Las Vegas.

2. Sam’s Town

christmas light tour las vegas

This magical display at Sam’s Town’s Mystic Falls Park has over 26,000 points of dazzling lights to enchant you this Christmas in Las Vegas. From now until January 1st, you can view their 18-foot Christmas Tree decorated to the nines, a nine-minute holiday laser light show, and a flurry of fake snow every night to make it a white Christmas in Las Vegas. Sam’s Town has been doing this jolly Christmas Town tradition since 1994 and the festivities begin in the evening after sundown.

3. Glittering Lights Drive-Thru

christmas light tour las vegas

Fans of holiday light displays have probably heard of Glittering Lights, a drive-thru light show at the Motor Speedway. When we say there’s a lot of Christmas lights, we mean millions of them. Grab your family, bring some sweet drinks, turn the channel to Ho-Ho-Radio, and start the journey. They also have Santa Tram where someone else does the driving and you can sit back and take in the magic without having to be behind the wheel. Tickets for this dazzling Christmas light display are $39 per vehicle.

4. Vincelli Ave.

christmas light tour las vegas

Less than 30 minutes off of the strip is Vinicelli Ave., a neighborhood where all the neighbors have come together to agree on one thing: Christmas Lights are in. This cozy and free Christmas lights display is another drive-thru experience, with each house decorated with different lights, characters, and themes. Heading to a local neighborhood is, in our opinion, one of the best and most traditional way of seeing Christmas lights in Las Vegas and radiates the most holiday spirit, joy, and community. VegasFamilyEvents also puts together a map of which homes are putting on Christmas Lights Displays. Check out the 2022 version here and keep an eye out for when they release their 2023 list.

5. Holiday Cactus Garden Lights

christmas light tour las vegas

This 2-in-1 holiday activity combines chocolate with holiday lights set amongst a cactus garden. What plant could be more fitting for Las Vegas, right? This is the 30th annual year decorating their botanical cactus garden-the biggest in the city-with twinkling Christmas lights and holiday decor. They’re open until December 31st from 5pm-10pm, no reservations are required, and once you’re done, snap a photo with Santa and don’t forget to try their famous hot chocolate. Since the Cactus Garden is part of Ethel M Chocolates, it might be a good idea to head in and grab a box of candies for a gift to a friend, family member, or yourself.

6. Magical Forest

christmas light tour las vegas

On select days from November 24th to December 31st, head to the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village for an exciting winter wonderland with food, rides, and lights. This holiday event in Las Vegas has been happening f or the last 3 decades and they’re celebrating their 31st year. Enjoy carousel rides, visits with Santa, a huge glittering tree, and know that it’s going to a good cause, as Opportunity Village uses its funds to go towards programs to help people with disabilities. For $24.00 you can get a ticket that includes admission and unlimited rides and attractions.

7. Rockin’ Christmas

christmas light tour las vegas

This brand new holiday attraction is coming to the M Resort in Henderson this Christmas. Promised to be the largest animated light show in the world, this drive-thru experience isn’t to be confused with Glittering Lights. Most of the animated display (some life-sized like the music notes) are music-themed, and the event is described as a ‘full-throttle musical extravaganza.’ They just had their inagural weekend on the 17th but they’ll be open until December 31st to so come by and rock out to a brand new holiday light display in Vegas.

‘ENCHANT’ WORLD’S LARGEST CHRISTMAS LIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA ANNOUNCES SPECTACULAR OUTDOOR EVENT AT RESORTS WORLD LAS VEGAS “ENCHANT ON THE STRIP”

christmas light tour las vegas

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 12, 2022) – Enchant, producers of the world’s largest Christmas light experience, and Resorts World Las Vegas, the Strip’s newest resort, announced plans to brighten the holiday season in Las Vegas with over four million outdoor lights—bringing a special edition of America’s fastest-growing live-holiday event to Las Vegas Boulevard for the first time billed as “Enchant on the Strip”.

“We’re thrilled that Resorts World Las Vegas will be home to Enchant this season as we bring our brand of holiday excitement to the Strip for the very first time,” said Kevin Johnston, founder and CEO of Enchant. “We hope to become an annual tradition. Christmas in Vegas is never going to be the same, and we look forward to hosting thousands of guests visiting ‘Enchant on the Strip’.”

Tickets for “Enchant on the Strip” will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 15. The event officially opens on Saturday, Nov. 19 and will continue operation through Jan. 1. The spectacle will span over ten acres—more than three football fields— across the Resorts World Las Vegas property. In addition to featuring a one-of-a-kind immersive walk-thru light maze experience and a 100-foot-tall holiday tree, the event will also include ice skating, live entertainment, Santa visits, interactive games and a holiday marketplace featuring local artisans. Specialty cocktails and culinary offerings will also be available from the array of Resorts World restaurants.

“Bringing Enchant to Resorts World allows us to offer a fun holiday experience for our guests and locals alike,” said Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas. “With our spectacular lineup of live entertainment and unmatched hospitality, this exciting partnership will make our property the place to be this holiday season.”

The event is nationally sponsored this year by Hallmark Channel. The popular television network will offer a variety of branded experiences including a Hallmark Channel “Cozy Christmas Corner” for guests to relax and recharge, photo opportunities, and a chance for fans to win a trip to the set of a Hallmark Channel movie.

In addition to the Resorts World Las Vegas location, Enchant is confirmed to return – by popular local demand—to its original location at the Las Vegas Ballpark making Las Vegas the only city to host two Enchant event locations.

This year Enchant will light up 8 cities across the country from coast to coast, with the Resorts World Las Vegas location opening November 19 and all additional locations opening the following week on November 25.

12 Days of a Las Vegas Christmas — Your 2023 Guide to Christmas in Vegas

  • November 29, 2023

author-avatar

While it is rarely a white Christmas in Vegas, the holiday season in Sin City is not without its share of magic and festive spirit.

Every year, casinos and attractions across the town create exciting and extravagant holiday displays and experiences. From over-the-top decorations and towering Christmas trees to special seasonal events and appearances from the Big Man in Red, there’s no shortage of festive fun to be had in Sin City, whether you have two days or 12 to explore.

Let’s tear off the wrapping and take a peak at how you can celebrate Christmas in Vegas in 2023:

Christmas in Vegas 2023

Las Vegas may not be the first place you think of for a yuletide family vacation, but there are tons of family-friendly things to see and do around the city during the Christmas season. Here are our favorites:

1. The Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio fountains are a must-see any time of year, but they put on an extra-special show around the holidays, featuring performances set to classic holiday tunes. Best of all, the show is totally free!

Performances run daily:

Based on previous years, you might hear these tunes during the 2023 Fountains of Bellagio Holiday Music shows:

  • Hallelujah Chorus – Mormon Tabernacle Choir Cast
  • Carol Of The Bells – Los Angeles Master Chorale
  • O Holy Night – Placido Domingo
  • It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Johnny Mathis
  • The Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Johnny Mathis
  • We Need a Little Christmas – Johnny Mathis
  • Sleigh Ride – Johnny Mathis
  • Santa Baby – Madonna

While you’re there, step inside the Bellagio to see the Atrium and Conservatory. Both are completely done up for Christmas.

2. Ice Rink at the Cosmopolitan

Every Christmas, the Cosmopolitan transforms its Boulevard Pool into an ice rink with more than 4,200 square feet of real ice to glide over. You can also roast s’mores by the fire pits, catch a holiday-themed double feature, or enjoy warm cocktails between light snow showers that fall every 30 minutes on select nights.

The ice rink is open December 19, 2023-January 2, 2023.

Admission is $30 for all-day skating access and includes skate rental. If you don’t plan to skate, entry to the ice rink area is free.

For more special event information, visit The Ice Rink .

3. the bellagio conservatory.

The annual Christmas display at the Bellagio Conservatory will transport you out of the desert into a festive winter wonderland. Every year, the Conservatory is decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, more than 28,000 poinsettias, and a spectacularly-decorated Christmas tree that’s over 40 feet tall. The tree alone is decorated with more than 7,000 LED lights and 2,500 ornaments!

This year’s theme is “The Nutcracker”, showcasing “iconic scenes from the classic ballet, following protagonist Clara’s journey through her holiday dreamland”. Dreamed up by designer Ed Libby and brought to life by Bellagio’s Horticulture team, “each bed will showcase different enchanting moments from the show, transporting visitors to a true winter wonderland where they can celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.”

Admission is free and the Holiday display at the Conservatory is open 24 hours a day from December 2,2023 till January 7, 2024.

HOLIDAY HISTORY: Watch a timelapse of every Bellagio Conservatory display since October 2011.

4. Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

If you’re in town for the holidays, you can’t miss Nevada’s largest drive-thru light show. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s 2.5 mile course is illuminated with 5 million LED lights that make up more than 600 animated displays. It opens at 5:30pm and runs from November 9, 2023 to January 7, 2024. Admission starts at $39 per vehicle.

If you don’t have a rental car, or for any reason you’d prefer to be a passenger rather than the designated driver, you can take the Santa Tram through the Glittering Lights experience on select nights in December. Santa Tram tickets start at $20 per person.

5. Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory Holiday Cactus Garden

Who needs Christmas trees when you have Christmas cacti? 2023 is the 30th anniversary of this Las Vegas holiday staple, featuring more than half a million lights draped over three acres of cacti, as well as chocolate houses and sculptures and live demonstrations of Ethel M chocolate creations. The lights are switched on each night between 5:00-10:00 PM from November 3-December 31, 2023. Learn more about Ethel M’s 30th Annual Holiday Cactus Garden Lights.

There is a $2 entrance fee per person. This money is donated to Help of Southern Nevada and Three Square Food Bank.

The factory is open until 8:00 PM on December 24 and 31, but closed December 25.

6. Santa in the Shipwreck

Santa sometimes makes a few surprise stops at Mandalay Bay’s famous shark reef and aquarium, but this isn’t your standard visit. This year, Santa will be visiting with “ a rather large and toothy holiday helper – Santa Jaws. Throughout the day, Santa Jaws will happily “swim” by to join the kiddies for a photo.”

Santa can be found in the shipwreck between 10am and 4pm, from December 16 to Christmas Eve. With each paid admission, children 12 and under receive a complimentary photograph with Santa Claus.

Shark Reef Aquarium is open daily from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM. Last admission is at 7:00 PM.

7. Christmas Tree at the Venetian

If the 40-foot tall Christmas tree at the Bellagio Conservatory doesn’t cut it for you, make sure you check out the 65-foot tree at the Venetian. It’s truly a spectacle to behold, with over 50,000 programmable lights and a nightly light show.

8. Mystic Falls Winter Wonderland

Inside the Sam’s Town hotel, you can find the wooded, waterfall area of Mystic Falls Park. At any other time of year, you can catch the Sunset Stampede Laser Light and Water Show, which “chronicles the Western pioneer experience with music, dancing water and a state-of-the-art laser light show”. But every December, Mystic Falls transforms into a Winter Wonderland, complete with a seasonal update that includes Santa’s workshop, a nightly snow show, and the addition of holiday classics to its laser light show music.

Mystic Falls Winter Wonderland is free to enjoy and open 24/7. Holiday laser light show performances run every two hours between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm daily from November 22, 2023-January 1, 2024.

9. Aria Resort & Casino Festive Lobby Display

ARIA’s winter setup is a must-see for any holiday die-hard. Last year’s display was called “The North Star” and was made up of over 90 pounds of fondant and 2,000 pounds of sugar. It took over 100 working hours to build, and was composed of:

  • More than 10,000 twinkle lights and 10,000 individual crystals
  • Real flocked evergreens, soft dusty miller plants and white florals
  • Delectable cream puffs and madeleines make for sweet holiday décor in the ARIA Patisserie window. The flowers adorning the trees are made completely of rice paper.

This year’s display hasn’t been revealed yet, but is sure to be spectacular.

Make sure you pick up your own Christmas candies and confections at the ARIA Patisserie, which is currently offering holiday sugar cookies, gift boxes, and more.

Las Vegas Christmas Events

10. rouge wonderland at red rock resort casino.

From the ashes of Merry Crimson, a new annual Vegas tradition emerges. This year, the Rouge Room at Red Rock Resort Casino will be “transporting guests from the 1920s to the snowy peaks and frosty forests of the North Pole. Featuring festive holiday décor, instagrammable photo moments, fire pits, frosty treats and a merry lineup of seasonal cocktails”

Guests can visit Rouge Wonderland from November 23 to December 30, Sundays and Thursdays from 5 pm-12 am and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm.-1 am.

11. Tournament of Kings Holiday Dinner Show

The Tournament of Kings arena is transformed into a medieval winter wonderland for “‘Twas the Knight”—a seasonal show featuring holiday costumes, lights, and a magically conjured snowfall courtesy of Merlin. And, of course, there’s a holiday-inspired meal.

The Tournament of Kings holiday dinner show runs from November 16-December 25. Tickets start around $74.

12. Night Flight Over the Strip

Get a bird’s-eye—er, reindeer’s eye?—view of the Strip on a helicopter night flight over the dazzling lights of Vegas’s most iconic casinos and resorts, as well as historic Fremont Street. Las Vegas Christmas Weather

Las Vegas is known for its heat, but it does cool off in the winter. Around Christmas time you can expect daytime temps of 56 F and overnights around 35 F, though the temperature can drop even further and sometimes the city even gets snow! Typically only trace amounts will fall, but there are years on record (as recent as 2019) where it has snowed a couple of inches.

When visiting Las Vegas for Christmas, plan to pack warm layers and a light jacket for the evenings, just in case it gets colder than you expect.

Christmas Magic

Regardless of whether you are looking for kid-free fun or family-friendly activities, Las Vegas has lots of holiday things for you to do in 2023.

KTNV - Las Vegas, Nevada

Here's how you can see the solar eclipse in Las Vegas

christmas light tour las vegas

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On Monday, a celestial shadow will be cast on North America as the moon passes directly in front of the sun. Although eclipses happen on Earth about every 1.5 to 2 years, the next time totality will happen in the United States will be 2045.

Las Vegas is not in the path of "totality" for the solar eclipse, but we'll still experience a partial eclipse locally.

Map of totality for 2024 eclipse

At around 11:20 a.m., Las Vegas will see 51% of the sun "disappear" and locals will potentially feel some of the effects, such as elongated shadows and a slight shift in temperature.

If you want to take your solar eclipse experience to the next level, the Las Vegas Astronomical Society is hosting a free viewing event .

From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., outside the entrance of the Planetarium at the College of Southern Nevada, the group is inviting space enthusiasts of all ages to safely view the partial eclipse. There will be eclipse viewing goggles and several telescopes available to witness the rare phenomenon. The group will also host photography and activities for kids.

You will need special glasses to view the eclipse — sunglasses won't cut it, Francisco Silva, vice president of education and outreach with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, told Channel 13.

"Solar eclipses are really rare. As far as we know, we are the only planet that have it. Our moon position with the sun position and orbit of the moon makes this amazing thing happen," Silva said.
