Disney cruise drink packages: How to save on beer, wine, cocktails and coffee

Megan duBois

If you're looking for a Disney cruise drink package, you might be disappointed. That's because Disney Cruise Line doesn't sell a traditional all-inclusive beverage package like other cruise lines do. Still, passengers have plenty of ways to get alcohol or other specialty drinks on the ship at a discount.

Guests who look forward to a glass of Chardonnay with dinner, umbrella-clad drinks by the pool or a nightcap on their balcony can save with wine- and beer-focused packages or even by bringing their own drinks on board with Disney's generous policy.

After sailing on seven Disney cruises, I've tried just about every trick to get a deal on drinks. Here's what you need to know to decide if any of Disney's cruise drink packages or money-saving hacks are worth it for your family.

Which drinks are included on a Disney cruise?

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

Your Disney cruise fare includes some beverages but not others; alcohol is not included, so a glass of wine, beer or cocktail will cost you extra.

One of the biggest perks to a Disney cruise, however, is that soda from specific onboard locations is included in the cost of your sailing. Soft drinks can be found at the beverage station on Deck 9 of Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and at two beverage stations on Deck 11 of Disney Wish , Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Teens can also find complimentary sodas in the teen-only lounge, Vibe. Soda is included at meals, as well.

However, if you order a soft drink from a bar or lounge, you will be charged a per-drink fee. Be careful about what you order so you don't pay for a drink that's free elsewhere on the ship.

Besides soda, other free-of-charge, non-alcoholic options available at beverage stands include coffee, milk and juice. At dinner, you can get soda, coffee and tea for free.

Disney cruise drink packages for wine

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

Wine lovers don't have the option of an all-inclusive drinks package, but they can take advantage of discounted pricing for pre-purchasing wine bundles. Disney Cruise Line says the packages offer a 25% savings over ordering bottles a la carte on board.

Wine packages range from $105 to $220 for three, four, five or seven bottles of wine from a pre-selected "classic" list of white, red or sparkling wines. The package goes up in price to $155 to $330 for three to seven bottles of wine from the premium wine list.

You can choose different vintages or the same for each night of your cruise. One perk of this package is that you don't have to order the number of bottles corresponding to your sailing length. You can order more than one bottle per night, and what you don't finish can be taken back to your cabin or enjoyed the following evening in the dining room. Or, you can order just a few bottles for a weeklong cruise if you'll easily split a bottle over two dinners.

Disney cruise drink packages for beer

If you want a beer package, the options are slightly more limited than the wine offerings. You can choose from seven different beers, including Blue Moon, Corona and Heineken, and each comes in a six-pack for the price of five beers at $36.25.

If you're a hard seltzer fan, you can also order a six-pack of Truly pineapple or wild berry for $32.50. These can be delivered to your cabin for you to enjoy at your leisure around the ship.

How to book Disney's beer and wine packages

You can book Disney's cruise drink packages for beer and wine online before your sailing or after you get onto the ship.

To book before boarding your cruise, go to Disney's onboard gifts webpage and choose the beer or wine package that works for you. According to Disney Cruise Line, most of the items can be delivered to your cabin on embarkation day, but you can also choose to have them delivered to a dining room to enjoy at dinner.

Once you're on the ship, you can order packages in the main dining room on the first night of your restaurant rotation, from crew selling beverage packages at kiosks around the ship or by calling guest services or room service.

Disney Cruise Line's bring-your-own alcohol policy

If you're looking for additional ways to save on cruise drinks, you might want to consider bringing your own alcohol.

Compared to most cruise lines that allow guests to bring only a small amount of wine with them upon embarkation only, Disney's alcohol policy for guests is generous. Every person 21 or older can bring two bottles of unopened wine or Champagne or six 12-ounce beers on board at the beginning of the cruise and at each port of call.

All drinks that you are bringing with you must be put in your carry-on bag. If you accidentally pack these drinks in your checked luggage, they will be removed and not returned, even at the end of the sailing.

If you bring wine with a cork, your stateroom host can provide you with a corkscrew and glasses to use. Those who want to enjoy the wine they brought on board in the dining room must pay a $26 corkage fee per bottle, so plan to drink your own bottles in your cabin to save money.

Find happy hours across the ship

While alcohol isn't free on board any Disney Cruise Line ship, you can take advantage of daily happy hours to save money. You can find out when and where happy hour is by browsing through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app each day. Happy hour is listed under daily events, and the app will tell you when and where you can find drink specials.

On my most recent Disney cruise, happy hour rotated around the various adults-only bars and lounges, though times did change depending on the bar. Select drinks were half-priced.

Try the drink of the day

If you're into tropical drinks, you'll want to try your ship's drink of the day every day, including on port days at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. This rotating menu of drinks is offered at a discount.

Additionally, you can purchase a drink of the day souvenir cup, which is usually a plastic hurricane-style cup, to use throughout your cruise. This cup can only be used for a drink of the day purchase, but with the cup, you do get a larger serving of the daily cocktail special.

Check out the Sommelier Bin wines

Select bars on all Disney Cruise Line ships feature a menu with a small section called the Sommelier Bin. With this, you tell your server or bartender you want a glass of white, red or sparkling wine from the bin. They will select a wine based on the already open bottles, but you won't know exactly what you're getting until it's poured and delivered.

If you want to try something new or feel adventurous one evening, the Sommelier Bin is a great way to sample wine at a discounted price.

Enjoy free drinks in the concierge lounge

If you splurge and book yourself a concierge-level room on any of the Disney Cruise Line ships, you're privy to a host of extra amenities and benefits. One of them is free drinks.

All day, bottled water, soft drinks, milk and juice are available, and in the evening beer, wine and spirits are served by lounge bartenders. Upon arrival, you will get an information sheet with times for the daily food and beverage offerings so you know when your family should show up for meals or drink service. If you do get a cocktail or mocktail, you can take it outside the lounge if you have somewhere else to be around the ship.

Save with the Disney Cruise Line beer mug

For those who like to sip on a cold beer while enjoying a show, time at the pool or playing trivia, the beer mug savings package could be worth buying. You can buy the mug online before your cruise from the Onboard Gifts and Amenities area of the Disney Cruise Line website for $15.25. You can also purchase it once you're on the ship from one of the kiosks with crew selling drink packages.

The package allows you to get a 21-ounce refill of beer for the price of a 16-ounce beer from any bar on the ship that offers draft beer.

You also get a beer token with the package, which entitles you to all of the benefits of the package without having to carry the glass around with you. If you choose to go with the beer mug token, you can swap it in for a mug on the last night of your cruise. The mug makes a great souvenir to take home.

Get a coffee punch card

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

Just like other cruise lines, specialty coffee drinks are an added cost on Disney Cruise Line ships. You can find these drinks in the Cove Cafe, an adults-only coffee spot on every ship, or at the inside coffee bars near the main atrium.

If you plan on drinking more than five specialty coffee beverages throughout your sailing, ask the crew member making your drink for a punch card. Every time you visit the Cove Cafe or one of the atrium coffee bars and order a coffee-based drink, you can get your card punched. After five punches, your sixth drink is free.

Pro-tip: Put your card in your lanyard or wallet with your room key so you always have it with you. You don't want to go to pay for your coffee order only to find out you don't have your punch card with you.

Will you really miss the drink package if you're sailing on Disney Cruise Line?

If you've sailed on other cruise lines and bought the drink package, you might think that you will miss its benefits on Disney Cruise Line. The truth is that because Disney offers so many ways to enjoy specialty drinks and alcohol that are free or discounted, including being able to bring your own alcohol on at every port of call, you might end up saving money on drinks while sailing with Disney, compared to other lines.

Should you choose to have cocktails or specialty drinks, just be sure to set a daily drink budget and check yourself daily to be sure you're not spending too much on beverages.

The bottom line is that even though Disney doesn't have a traditional all-inclusive drink package, you can still find ways to save money on beverage purchases. Whether you bring your own alcohol on board at every port, try your luck with the Sommelier bin or save with a beer or wine package, you'll never go thirsty on Disney Cruise Line.

Is it Worth Getting the Drink Package on a Cruise?

Disney Cruise drink package options are a great way to save some money and not overspend on alcohol. If you choose one of the wine or beer packages, you will end up saving money if you would have otherwise just purchased them individually.

You will have to figure out how much you think you would drink onboard the ship. If you are on a 3-day cruise, do you really need seven bottles of wine? Probably not.

Buying alcohol on the ship is way more expensive than going into your neighborhood grocery store for it, so you don’t want to buy more alcohol than you will drink.

The majority of other cruise lines do offer drink packages, and while it may seem like a good idea, you need to ask yourself if you really need that much alcohol.

Disney Cruise Alcohol Policy

Each guest, 21 years and older, can bring two bottles of wine or champagne or six beers when they board the ship.

They cannot be checked and have to be put in carry-on bags. No hard liquor is allowed on the ship, and you cannot bring any open containers on.

If you consume the alcohol in one of the dining rooms, there is a $25 corking fee per bottle. Be aware if you purchase a Disney Cruise drink package, you cannot consume any alcohol in public areas of the cruise ship.

If you purchase any alcohol while in port, you will check them in with a staff member and pick them up at the end of your trip.

In addition, if you bring more than the allowed amount, it will be stored until the end of your trip. You must pick up any unused alcohol before you get off on your last day. It is not advised to try to sneak extra bottles of alcohol on board the ship. The crew will find it and then have to confiscate it.

If you have any additional questions regarding the Disney Cruise Alcohol Policy , take a look at the entire policy online.

Benefits of Purchasing a Wine Package on your Disney Cruise

Purchasing a wine Disney Cruise drink package onboard will save you 25% off the cost if you would have bought the bottles individually. You can purchase either the classic wine package or the premium wine package. You have the option to select either 3, 4, 5, or 7 bottles.

Since you can preorder the wine package, it gives you time to do some research. There are several bottles to choose from, so it’s nice to have some time before to think through your selections.

As you are selecting your options, remember to keep in mind how much you actually think you will drink.

You will receive a message card in your stateroom to bring to your dinner in order to redeem your bottle of wine. Your selection is then served right to your dinner table. It’s always nice knowing exactly what you are going to get when you sit down for dinner.

You are allowed to drink more than one bottle of wine a night, and you can take any leftover wine back to your stateroom. In addition, you are able to take up to two bottles off the ship.

An 18% service charge is added to all wine packages.

There are four options in the classic wine package. You can purchase:

3 bottles for $100

4 bottles for $130

5 bottles for $156

7 bottles for $210

There is a limit of one cooler per adult, 21 years and older. If you choose not to get the cooler, you will still have a beverage cooler in your room, where you can keep your beer chilled.

The below brands of imported beer are available in a 6 pack for $36.25 each.

The following domestic beer options are available in a 6 pack with 16 oz aluminum bottles for $36.25.

  • Coors Light

How to Order a Disney Cruise Drink Package

It is very easy and convenient to order a Disney Cruise drink package. You can either pre-order your drink packages ahead of time from your reservations page or order them right from the ship. It comes down to what your personal preference is.

While ordering a drink package, you can also pre-order room decorations, cigars, flowers, or sweets. Disney Cruise Line robes are also available.

To sign up for a beverage package, you can either pre-purchase one through  Onboard Gifts .

If you booked using a Disney travel agent , just let them know and they can add it for you.

Non-Alcoholic Drinks

If you decide not to get a Disney Cruise drink package, you can still enjoy the drink of the day on your trip. Each day, you will bring a new drink to choose from. The drink of the day will be listed on the front page of the Personal Navigator you receive each day. There will always be an alcoholic and non-alcoholic option to choose from.

The drink of the day is a great deal at $5.46 (alcoholic) and $4.89 (non-alcoholic). For an extra charge, you can get a fun, plastic souvenir cup. The price of the cup and the drink is right around $16.

You aren’t required to get the souvenir cup in order to buy the drink of the day. You can use it for refills (not free, of course), and you will get slightly more if you were to have ordered the drink without the cup.

Examples of the drink of the day:

Non-Alcoholic

  • Parrot Song
  • Espresso Chiller
  • Bahama Mama
  • Paradise Punch

A non-alcoholic drink of the day in a souvenir cup would be a fun gift for children!

Disney Cruise Beer Mug

If you want a beer but don’t want to purchase the Disney Cruise drink package, consider the beer mug deal. You can buy a Disney Cruise Line beer mug for $16.95 at one of the various pubs and bars.

A 22 oz glass of beer is given, and refills are then offered for the price of a 16 oz mug of beer. You don’t have to keep your beer mug with you at all times. (It’s heavy, so you won’t want to!)

The bartender will give you a paper beer mug token, and each time you order, you show your token, and they will give you a clean mug. When your cruise is over, turn in your token for a new beer mug to take home.

If you don’t plan on buying more than one beer a day, the beer mug deal might not be for you. Unless of course, you’re only in it for the collectible mug. You can, however, bring your token back on a further trip to get the same deal.

Disney Cruise Drink Specials

In addition to selecting a Disney Cruise drink package, consider trying one of the daily drink specials. The best way to find out if there are any available drink specials is to ask your bartender. While some specials are announced, they aren’t always advertised, so the best way to find out is to ask.

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink specials will be available. Examples of Disney Cruise Drink Specials:

  • Conch Coolers
  • Mimosas and Bloody Marys
  • Screwdriver
  • 2 for 1 deal
  • Mocktails

Disney Cruise Free Soda

You don’t need a Disney Cruise drink package to receive a free soda. The beverage is free throughout the ship at specific beverage stations. There is a soda machine located on the pool deck that is open 24 hours a day. Soda is also available at the buffet.

You will have to pay for soda at the theater concessions stand and any bar or lounge. If you know you will be going to see a movie, stop by the soda machine ahead of time to get your free drink.

Drinks available at the soda machine are:

  • Coke and Diet Coke
  • Sprite and Sprite Zero
  • Fruit Punch and Lemonade

What Drinks are Included with the Price of a Disney Cruise?

There is no need to have a Disney Cruise drink package to receive included beverages. The only drinks included in the price of your Disney Cruise are non-alcoholic beverages. This includes soda, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

It’s important to note you are able to bring your own sealed cans or bottles of soda and water onto the ship. A 6 pack of bottled water will cost you about $10 onboard, so it’s wise to bring your own.

There is no limit to how many non-alcoholic beverages you can bring on the ship. If you don’t see your favorite soda is available on the ship, you may want to consider bringing your own. Pack them carefully so they are not damaged during the handling of the bags. The last thing you want is your soda to get all over your packed clothes.

That being said, there are plenty of opportunities for free drinks, so try not to overload your suitcase too much. If your room isn’t ready when you board, you’re going to have to lug that around the ship.

Hacks to Save Money on Drinks with Disney Cruise Line

Bring your own drinks.

To save money on your Disney Cruise Line drinks, it’s important to know that you can bring your own alcoholic beverages on board.

Each guest aged 21 and over is allowed to bring two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (750 ml) or six beers (12 oz) on board at embarkation and at each port of call.

This is a great way to save money on drinks during your cruise and to enjoy the beverages that you prefer.

Happy Hours

Happy hour on a Disney cruise is a great way to unwind and relax after a busy day of exploring the ship and participating in activities. During happy hour, guests can enjoy discounted drinks and appetizers at select bars and lounges on the ship.

Drink of the Day

The Disney Cruise Line is known for its excellent dining options and onboard entertainment, but it’s also famous for its Drink of the Day. Every day, guests can enjoy a specially crafted cocktail at a discounted price.

Concierge Lounge

When you opt for a concierge-level room on any of Disney Cruise Line’s ships, you can enjoy a range of additional amenities and perks. One of them is complimentary beverages. You can have access to bottled water, soft drinks, milk, and juice all day long. As the evening sets in, lounge bartenders are ready to serve you beer, wine, and spirits.

Sommelier Bin Wine

When you’re on board a Disney Cruise Line ship and visiting one of the bars, you’ll come across a menu that has a special section called the Sommelier Bin.

By choosing this option, you can ask your server or bartender to bring you a glass of white, red or sparkling wine from the bin. The wine they select will be based on what’s already open, and you won’t know exactly what you’re getting until it’s poured for you.

If you’re feeling adventurous or in the mood to try something new, the Sommelier Bin is a great way to sample wine at a discounted price.

A Guide to Alcohol on Disney Cruises

A Disney Cruise Line vacation is a great family vacation option, and the consumption of alcohol can enhance the experience for adults. This guide will look at how and where alcohol is served and Disney’s policy relating to alcohol on Disney cruises.  Read on for our complete guide to alcohol on Disney Cruises.

Disney Cruise Line  Alcohol Policy

As a guest on Disney Cruise Line, you must comply with all laws, policies, and procedures regarding the consumption and distribution of alcohol. You may not provide any other person with alcohol, regardless of their age.

Is alcohol included in the price of a Disney cruise?

Disney cruises are nearly all-inclusive, but some beverages are an additional charge.

Alcohol is not included in the price of a Disney cruise , nor is tipping the server or bartender. These drinks are charged to your stateroom account, and paid out-of-pocket or with Disney onboard credit .

The following refreshments are provided at no additional cost:

  • Soft drinks, coffee, and tea served at meals
  • Non-alcoholic drinks at the Beverage Station
  • Drinks served at Vibe teen lounge

The following beverages are subject to an additional charge:

  • Alcoholic beverages, bottled water, smoothies, and specialty coffees offered during meals
  • Beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and bottled water available in lounge areas

What’s the drinking age onboard a Disney Cruise?

Disney Cruise Line’s alcohol policy states that all guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol unless covered by a special exception (outlined below). Those who appear to be under the age of 30 will be asked for ID when purchasing alcohol.

Can 18-year-olds drink on Disney Cruise?

The drinking age on all of Disney Cruise Line’s ships is 21, but 18- to 20-year-olds cruising with Disney may be permitted to consume alcohol on these itineraries:

  • Round-trip cruises departing from European countries with a lower drinking age: Parents or guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form which permits an 18- to 20-year-old to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence.
  • Round-trip cruises departing from Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney: Passengers 18 and older may purchase and consume alcoholic beverages with no need for parental consent/presence.
  • One-Way cruises between Hawaii and Australia:  Parents or guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form which permits an 18- to 20-year-old to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence.

Rules may change from time to time; always check the current policy to ensure you have the latest information.

These policies and exceptions are designed to help Disney’s younger guests enjoy their cruise while still respecting the laws of their home countries.

To be clear, onboard drinking age policies are based solely on the country the cruise is departing from — not on the country of an individual passenger’s citizenship. Of course, all guests must have a valid photo ID to be served.

It is important to note that all adult-only areas are available to guests 18 and older, including the nightclubs and lounges, spa, fitness center, Quiet Cove Pool, and the two adult-only restaurants. Serenity Bay is a private, gorgeous beach on Castaway Cay and is only available to adults 18 and older.

Even though Disney Cruises allows guests 18 and older in the adult areas of the ship, the legal drinking age is still 21 in these areas.

The cost of an alcoholic beverage on a Disney Cruise depends on the type of beverage and the venue. The cruise price does not include alcohol, so all guests must pay separately.

Drinks start at around $7 and can go up to $16 or more for premium cocktails. Wine and beer are typically less expensive than mixed drinks, and prices are subject to change.

All the beverages served on board Disney cruises are complimentary, except for alcoholic beverages, certain specialty drinks, and bottled beverages. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea are included with meals, along with non-alcoholic drinks at the Beverage Station and soft drinks in the Vibe teens-only lounge.

Drinks in Disney Cruise Rotational Dining Restaurants

On a Disney Cruise, you can select from a wide range of drinks when dining in the main rotational restaurants . You’ll have the option of ordering any cocktail you like, as well as a special selection on your menu each day, chosen to complement the food and theme of the restaurant. Two alcoholic cocktails and another non-alcoholic cocktail are always available.

Those who enjoy wine can bring their own bottle (for a $25 corkage fee) or purchase the Wine Package. Bottles of wines are also available by the glass on the Wine List. There are also specialty coffees and liquors available for an additional fee.

If you want something non-alcoholic, all the soda types available on the pool deck are also free to drink in restaurants. If you want an iced tea or Sprite, you can do so for free.

Beverage Tastings Events on Disney Cruise Ships

Beverage tastings on Disney cruises allow guests to sample select adult beverages and learn about different types of wine, beer, spirits, and more. The seminars vary based on ship and itinerary, so check the daily onboard activities for times and locations.

A nominal fee is associated with beverage tastings, and availability is limited. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate. Events are subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Reservations for beverage tastings can be made online through the Planning Center or at any time during your cruise. We recommend that you reserve your spot as early as possible due to the popularity of these events. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the reserved experience. Guests will be charged the full price if cancellation falls within 24 hours before the event starts.

Get a taste of everything from Amari to Whiskey — and everything in between. Here is a list of the Beverage Tastings on the Disney Cruise Line ships:

Amari Tasting

Beer tasting, bourbon tasting, champagne tasting, chocolate & liquor tasting, cognac tasting, kick-start your day beverage tasting, martini tasting, mixology class, mojito & caipirinha tasting, rum tasting, stem-to-stern wine tasting, tequila & margarita tasting, whiskey tasting.

Beverage Tasting events on Disney cruises usually cost between $40 and $50, though some special events may cost more. It is a good idea to book in advance as these sell out quickly.

Save Money with the Sommelier Bin

If you’re looking to save money on wine while on your Disney Cruise, check out the “Sommelier Bin” on Disney’s cocktail menus.

For just $10 per glass, you can choose from a selection of white, red, or sparkling wines. Your bartender will select a wine for you based on the available open bottles.

It’s a fun way to try an unknown or expensive wine without spending too much money.

Try the Disney Drink of the Day

Disney Cruise Lines offers a different Drink of the Day daily, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions available. This will be shown daily in your Navigator App , but if you don’t know what it is, just ask any of the bar staff.

Since the alcoholic versions cost around $6.25 with a gratuity, the Drink of the Day saves you money. Although it is impossible to predict which drink of the day will be available on your Disney Cruise, certain ones are offered more frequently than others.

Some popular Drink of the Day choice includes Captain’s Mai Tai, Espresso Chiller, High Tide, Melon Margarita, Paradise Punch, Sunken Treasure, and Yellow Bird. For those seeking a non-alcoholic drink, options may include Parrot Song and Passion Cream Freeze, Mint Tea Punch, and Lava Smoothie.

DCL Specialty Drinks

Guests can purchase alcoholic drinks at several bars on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. The island’s four beach bars – Conched Out Bar , Heads Up Bar, Sand Bar, and Castaway Air Bar – serve beer, cocktails, and frozen drinks.

Castaway Cay Tip : Among the most requested beverages on Castaway Cay is the Konk Cooler, a combination of rum, orange juice, and passion fruit. Try it!

So, there you have everything you need to know about alcohol on Disney cruises! Whether you’re looking to enjoy a beer by the pool, a cocktail or glass of wine with dinner, or learn all about bourbon at a Beverage Tasting event, you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for on a Disney cruise. Does The Disney Cruise Line Have a Drink Package? (What You Need to Know)

Posted on Published: 03/12/2024

Since their entrance into the cruise market with the Disney Magic, Disney Cruise Line has revolutionized the cruise market for families. However, many of the adults cruising on DCL (and many adults do cruise without kids) wonder if there is a Disney Cruise Line drink package.

While there isn’t a traditional “all-you-can-drink” package, there are ways to save money on alcoholic beverages. Here’s our overview of Disney Cruise drink package options.

Disclosure: We’ve been on several media cruises with the Disney Cruise Line but have also paid for our cruises.

Disney Cruise Drink Package Options

Does disney cruise have a drink package.

Traditional cruise line drink packages offered by many major cruise lines allow you to pay one fee per day and get any included beverages at no additional cost. You can often get a deal on these packages, and sometimes, depending on the cruise line, it can be included in a package deal on your cruise.

Disney Cruise Line, however, does not offer this option. No beverage or alcohol package is offered that includes all of your drinks.

It’s important to note, however, that, unlike some cruise lines, a lot of non-alcoholic beverages are included in your cruise fare on the Disney Cruise Line.

This includes some juices, sodas, regular coffee, and tea (iced tea and hot tea). So while some cruise lines do offer non-alcoholic drinks packages (primarily for soft drinks), this isn’t offered or needed on the Disney Cruise Line.

You will need to purchase bottled water, although there are refill stations offered for free. There are also lots of opportunities to order multiple bottles of water at a lower cost – sometimes in a cooler bag.

To save money on water, I’d recommend bringing a refillable cup or bottle. While guests are asked to take a new cup with each refill at the beverage station, you can pour it into your refillable cup.

Specialty coffee is also offered at an additional fee at the Cove and other locations. You’ll receive a coffee punch card where you can get a complimentary coffee after purchasing five.

Available Beverage Options on Disney Cruise

So, are you wondering how to go about saving on drinks on a Disney Cruise? Several different beverage purchase options let you save money on drinks aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Some of these are purchased before embarkation day while others can be purchased at the beginning of the voyage.

Beer mug: If you plan to drink beer on board, the beer mug purchase can be a good option. To purchase this, you’ll need to buy in advance through onboard gifts and amenities .

You’ll receive a mug with a capacity of 21 ounces which can be used to buy draught beer refills at a 16 oz price. If you don’t want to carry around the souvenir mug, you can get little cards that offer the same discounted price without having the cup on hand.

I don’t drink beer, but saw so many of these cards being used on my last sailing. This option is popular, but you will want to make your purchase in advance.

There’s a similar option offered at Castaway Cay for mixed drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks). You’ll purchase a larger reusable cup and then can use it to get refills at the lower cost of a smaller drink.

Wine and dinner bottle package

Wine and Dine package: Like to have a bottle of wine with dinner? The Wine and Dine package can be purchased for 3, 4, 5, and 7-night cruises.

There are two different wine packages – a classic and a premium option. A card will be on your dinner table on the first night of your cruise listing the wine options offered under both packages. The Wine and Dine package will be purchased from your assistant server in any of the main dining rooms.

These packages claim to save you up to 25%. You can use the wine in any of the sit-down restaurants except for Remy and Enchante. A gratuity is added to the package.

Have leftover wine after dinner? You can either have it brought to your table the following night, or you can carry it to your stateroom.

Survival Beer Package: If you don’t purchase the beer mug in advance of your cruise, you still have an opportunity to save money on beer. The survival beer package, which can be purchased through the pool deck bars and other venues, offers a bulk purchase of beers.

There are three options, depending on the types of beer you like to drink. There’s a classic, signature, and premium package. In addition, you can choose how many beers you want – 6, 12, and 24.

Drink of the Day: While this isn’t a beverage package, it is a way you can save money on mixed drinks – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Each day, there’s a drink of the day offered at a discount price. You can find the specific deals on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

Bring Your Drinks: Guests 21 and older are permitted to carry on their own drinks. Limits do apply – you can bring 2 bottles of unopened wine or up to 6 bottles of beer. These need to be in your carry-on bags – not your checked luggage.

A corkage fee will apply if you bring one of these bottles of wine to dinner. Here are all of the specific rules .

Martini glasses on table

Beverage Tastings: There are lots of opportunities for beverage-tasting classes throughout your cruise. These include wine tastings, mixology, martini making, and more. Sign up in advance on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or once you are on board (availability will be more limited).

Tips For Purchasing Drinks

  • If you want to save money on alcoholic beverages, it’s a good idea to look at these options in advance to decide what you want to purchase. While most of these things can be bought on the cruise (and have to be bought on the cruise), the beer mug must be ordered in advance.
  • Even if you are flying in for your cruise, you can still bring your own drinks on board. Just stop at a nearby liquor store before arriving at the port.

Disney Cruise Lines Drink Packages [Packages & Pricing 2023]

Last updated on March 10th, 2024 at 09:33 pm

Disney Cruise Line is known for offering an unforgettable and magical vacation experience for families and individuals alike. One of the highlights of the Disney cruise experience is the variety of food and drinks available on board.

Most of the other major cruise lines have drink packages front and center, but searching the Disney Cruise Line’s website, it’s a hard go to find information about drink packages.

That may be because Disney is a family-oriented cruise where the kiddos’ interests are paramount.

And while they don’t push their alcoholic drinks, they do have plenty of them, and here is what we did find out about drink packages on DCL:

Table of Contents

Beverages Included And Not Included In A Cruise On DCL

Beverages included at no extra charge:.

  • Soft drinks, coffee and tea served during meals.
  • Non-alcoholic drinks from the Beverage Station.
  • Soft drinks served at Vibe teens-only lounge.

Beverages that incur an additional charge:

  • Alcoholic beverages, smoothies, specialty coffees and bottled water served during meals.
  • Beer, wine, cocktails, bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages served in lounge areas.

There are no “unlimited alcohol” or “all you can drink” packages onboard Disney Cruise ships. They do have what they consider “packages” that you can purchase both in advance and onboard.

Wine Packages

The wine onboard Disney comes in many varieties, and there are classic, or standard, wines and premium wines.

Wine options will vary by departure port and by the ship’s itinerary.

You can purchase Classic wine or Premium Wine packages in one, three, four, five or seven bottle packages.

As of this writing, Feb 2023, the prices ranged from a low of $38 for one bottle of Classic wine to $316 for a seven-bottle package of Premium wine.

Beer Packages

Disney has a variety of beer that includes:

  • Corona Blue Moon
  • Miller Lite
  • Coors Light
  • Bud Light Lime

The beer comes in a six-pack, and all types of beer brands are at this writing, $33.75.

Beer Mug Package

DCL has a branded beer mug that can be purchased onboard. This decorative mug holds 21 ounces and each time you fill it at any onboard bar, you get a 21-ounce refill of beer at the cost of a 16-ounce size.

Lugging this large mug would get tiring quickly, so if you want, you can just use the beer mug token. The token gets you the same benefits of the mug without having to tote it wherever you go.

Although brands of beers vary depending on the port of call , these beers that you can get in your decorative beer mug may be:

  • Stella Artois
  • Angry Orchard
  • Michelob Ultra
  • Samuel Adams
  • Kona Longboard
  • Newcastle Brown Ale

Hard Seltzer

Truly Pineapple and Truly Wild Berry are the two hard seltzer flavors that can be purchased in a six-pack at a cost of $25, at the time of this writing, in the DCL beverage package.

Bottled Water

Dasani bottle water packages usually come in 16-ounce aluminum bottles. They will be delivered to your stateroom before your arrival.

You can order water in packages of six, twelve or twenty-four bottles.

Room service will also offer bottled water options when you purchase through them. They may offer a “buy five and get one free” type of offer. If you are interested, make sure to check the room service menu.

OnBoard Tasting Seminars

If tasting various alcoholic beverages appeals to you, DCL gives you that option with a slew of tasting seminars.

Exclusively for adults, these seminars range from Amari, Beer, Bourbon, Champagne, Cognac, Martini and a Chocolate & Liquor Tasting seminar.

There is also a Mixology Class, Mojito & Caipirinha, Rum, Tequila & Margarita Tasting, and last but not least, Whiskey.

Your guide to disney cruise line's drink packages.

Updated: Feb 8

Most major cruise lines, like Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival Cruise Line, typically offer an unlimited alcohol drink package. However, Disney is known to be a more family-centered cruise line. As such, they do not offer those typical drinks packages, but there are still various ways to get adult beverages when onboard. This blog post will dive into the various options you have on a Disney Cruise ship!

Disney Cruise Drink Package

Disney does not sell unlimited packages, but they do have beer and wine packages. These packages can be purchased online ahead of time through the Onboard Gifts website or can be purchased while on board. These packages include:

Champagne's spinning in a Lehmann glasses "Soufflé bouche" collection

- Classic or premium wine packages for 3, 4, 5, or 7 bottles of wine (price ranges from $105 to $330 before tax and tip)

- 6-pack of beer from brands like budweiser, coors light, michelob, miller light, blue moon, corona, and heineken ($36.25), - 6-pack of truly hard seltzers ($32.50), disney cruise line also has a refillable beer mug offering known as the beer mug savings package for $15.25 while supplies last. the mug grants you the ability to get a 21 oz beer for the price of a 16 oz. size to take advantage of this package, you will need to bring the mug with you to the bars around the ships or at a minimum, bring your beer mug token, which entitles you to all the benefits of the mug without having to lug it around. there are various draft beer options on board for you to enjoy, including stella artois, guinness, angry orchard, samuel adams, kona longboard, and newcastle brown ale - to name a few, and they vary depending on the port of call..

Beverage Tastings

Multiple wooden platters with samples of assorted beer, cider, and mead.

Using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, you can book a beverage tasting that will allow you to sample select adult beverages during an informative seminar. Depending on your sailing some beverage-tasting options include learning about the complexities of bourbon, trying tropical drinks like Mojito & Caipirinha, and even attending a bartending workshop in their mixology class!

Other Ways to Get Adult Beverages

- Purchasing at the Pool Deck, the Ships' Adult-Exclusive Spaces, and any of the bars around the ship - Disney also offers a drink of the day! This allows you to purchase the alcoholic beverage of the day for only $5 before tax and tip.

- ordering through room service, castaway cay, and in the main dining room , - for free at the concierge lounge, if you booked that category - the concierge lounge features an open bar that operates continuously from 5 to 10 pm daily. guests are welcome to carry their drinks anywhere on the ship, even to dinner..

Can you bring alcoholic beverages on board the ship?

An opened beer can in the sand at the beach

Disney Cruise Line guests 21 years of age and above are permitted to bring a maximum of two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (with a size limit of 750 ml) or six beers (with a size limit of 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at every port of call. These beverages must be securely packed in carry-on luggage or a bag; they are not allowed in checked bags.

For round-trip cruises originating from sydney, melbourne, auckland, and brisbane, guests aged 18 and older have the same allowance - two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (not exceeding 750 ml) or six beers (not exceeding 12 ounces)., should guests wish to enjoy their brought-on wine or champagne in one of the dining rooms, a corking fee of $27.00 per bottle will be applicable..

What is the drinking age while sailing?

The minimum drinking age on board is 21, and a valid photo ID is necessary.

However, on round-trip cruises departing from a european country with a lower drinking age, parents or guardians have the option to complete a beverage consent form. this form grants permission for their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while under the supervision of an adult., moreover, for round-trip cruises originating from sydney, melbourne, auckland, and brisbane, individuals aged 18 and above can purchase and enjoy alcoholic beverages without needing parental consent. in the case of repositioning cruises between hawai'i and australia, parents or guardians can sign a beverage consent form, allowing their 18- to 20-year-old children to partake in alcoholic beverages while accompanied by an adult..

Non-alcoholic Beverages

Non-alcoholic day of the drink

Disney also offers non-alcoholic drinks that can be pre-purchased or while on board. These include:

- 6-pack non-alcoholic heineken ($36.25), - non-alcoholic cloudem - blue ($20 for the drink only), - 6, 12, or 24-pack of dasani (ranging from $15 - $60) or 6-pack of smart water in aluminum cans ($21.25).

Coca cola in a glass with ice and a palm tree in the background

One of my favorite perks on a Disney Cruise is that they include soft drinks, juice, milk, and regular tea and coffee in your cruise fare, so there is no need to purchase soda packages like you would on the other cruise lines mentioned initially. You can find a beverage station inside the buffet and outside on the pool deck. You can also order these drinks at the sit-down restaurants. However, there will be an additional charge for these beverages if ordered through room service, at the bars and lounges, or the movie theater concession stand.

Disney also offers specialty coffees and other specialty drinks like smoothies for an additional cost and a non-alcoholic drink of the day, which typically costs about $5 before tax and tip disney cruise tip: if you plan on purchasing five specialty coffees or more, consider asking for the coffee punch card when you order. after five coffees, your sixth one is free.

Happy Cruising!

Food and Drinks on a Disney Cruise – Bring or Purchase?

IMG 1599 scaled

At Disney Addicts, we get a lot of questions about bringing drinks and food on board your Disney Cruise. First thing, Disney Cruise Line does not have an “all you can drink” alcohol beverage package. They do offer alcoholic drinks, bottled water, and bottles of beer on board, but you must pay for them individually, or you can buy a wine or beer package (see details below). So if you want to save a little money or have something specific, you can bring on your own.

Disney Cruise Line Alcohol Policy

If you are 21 years or older you can bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. These beverages must be packed in your carry-on (not checked) bags. All alcohol brought onboard must be in an original unopened container. Partially used bottles and those in which the seal has been broken will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.

Any alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the end of the cruise. Along with any wine or champagne in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers will be stored until the end of the cruise. You MUST retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. If not, they will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.

You can not bring on liquors and spirits (gin, vodka, etc. including powdered alcohol). These items will be stored until the end of the cruise. If you purchase liquors in a port to enjoy when you get home, you check them in with cruise staff when you get back on board and pick them up at the end of the cruise.

If you want to drink the wine or champagne that you brought on board in one of the dining rooms you will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle. Alcohol that you bring on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area. Drink it in your stateroom.

Wine and Beer Packages

You can purchase individual glasses of wine, bottles of wine, champagne and sparkling wines or glass/bottle of beer. Disney also has a variety of packages you can purchase, not necessarily at a discount.

There are 2 beer packages available on board: 6 pack of domestic or imported beers. You get 6 chilled beers for the price of 5 versus if you bought them individually. For example, you can purchase a 6 pack of Heineken beers for $33.75. Prices do not include 15% gratuity for beer packages. So a savings from what is on board, but not for what you could buy them for at home.

Also, on the first couple of days of the cruise, there will be tables set up throughout the ship where you can buy a 6 pack of beer in a collectible soft-sided cooler.

Disney does have a Beer Mug Package for $15.25 (gratuity and tax not included). You get a Disney Cruise Line-branded beer mug to bring to any onboard bar and get a 20 oz. refill of beer for the price of a 16 oz. size! There is no need to carry the mug around the entire cruise. You will get a token you can trade for a mug at any time. You give the token to your server and get a mug of beer, and when you’re done you can give them the mug and ask for the token back. At the end of the cruise, just stop by any bar to get a nice clean mug to take home.

Disney offers 3, 4, 5, & 7 bottles of wine packages. They have a classic wine package or premium. You will save up to 25% when purchasing one of their wine packages instead of buying the same wine bottles separately. Choose a bottle from the wine list selected by their onboard sommeliers to pair with your food each night. The wine of your choice will be served at your table. So if you are a wine drinker this might be a good option for you.

If you don’t finish all of your wine you can take it home with you. You are allowed to carry up to 2 bottles of wine off the ship. You can also drink more than one bottle per evening. And if you don’t finish a bottle in one evening you can take it back to your stateroom with you or your server team can rotate it to your next Dining Experience .

Disney Cruise Line Beverage Policy

You can bring on sealed bottles or cans of non-alcoholic beverages like water and soda. These must be in your carry on bag and must be able to fit through an x-ray machine (remember you have to carry it all! Bring a roller bag to save your back and arms!). A 6 pack of Dasani water on board costs $10. If you are staying on concierge level on the Dream or Fantasy , bottled water is provided in the lounge without cost.

Also, in addition to the beer, there will be tables set up throughout the ship where you can buy packs of water in a collectible soft-sided cooler.

You can not bring on ice chests or coolers, except for coolers no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 12″ (like a soft-sided cooler), as carry-on luggage only for storing medications, baby food or items related to dietary restrictions only. Breast milk must be in carry-on luggage only.

If you are a coffee drinker, there are machines that serve drip coffee and there are milk and creamer available, but if you like specialty coffees, those espresso drinks cost extra, generally about the same price as on land. If you are a regular coffee drinker, be sure to get a coffee card. Each time you buy a latte, cappuccino, etc. they will mark the card. Your sixth one is FREE! If you don’t fill your card during the cruise, hold onto it you can use it on a future cruise, even on a different Disney ship!

Disney Cruise Line Food Policy

You can pack nonperishable snack foods in sealed, original packaging (yes to crackers, no to bananas). All items must either be consumed prior to returning to your home port or remain unopened.

Do not bring homemade, precooked or perishable foods or open food containers. You also can not bring electrical appliances such as rice cookers, hot plates, coffee makers, blenders, bottle sterilizers, and bottle warmers. Disney does have a limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers available upon request through Guest Services. In addition, you can have hot water delivered to your stateroom at any time from room service.

Disney Cruise Wine Package – Is It Worth It?

Sharing is caring!

Unlike many other cruise lines, Disney does not have an all-inclusive drinks package.

However, what many people don’t know is that there is a Disney Cruise Wine Package available.

Are you thinking of buying the Disney Cruise Wine Package?

It can be a considerable saving for some people. However, for others, it may not be worth the expense.

is the disney cruise wine package worth it_

Here we show you what is available to help you decide whether the Disney Wine Package is a good idea for your cruise.

What Disney Cruise Wine Packages Are Available?

disneycruisewine

Here we are talking about the Disney Cruise Wine Packages 2019.

All Disney Cruise wine packages are available regardless of the length of the Disney cruise you are sailing on.

For instance, you could buy a 3-bottle package on a 7-night cruise.

Or a 5-night package on a 4-day cruise.

Disney Cruise Wine Packages Cost

Here are the prices for the Disney Cruise Classic Wine Package:

How Do You Purchase a Disney Wine Package?

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

You can pre-purchase the Wine Package on your Disney Cruise Personalizer. However, we really don’t see any benefit in doing this, unless you like to do this to have more of an idea for your budget.

Some people really like to have everything paid for before they go on the cruise.

If this is you then go ahead and book your Wine Package before you sail on your Disney cruise.

When you board the Disney ship there will be a table set up on the Pool Deck and in various other locations on the ship which offers various Drinks Packages for purchase, such as the Water Bottle Package.

Unlike some cruise lines, Disney really doesn’t push this on you.

We have rarely noticed people signing up at the tables out on the ship and most people just walk past.

disneycruisewine

Disney cruise lines really are not about the high-pressure sales technique.

This is one of the things which we really enjoy about Disney cruises.

If you want to buy something, go ahead. If not, you aren’t going to get the hard sales technique on a Disney ship.

When you have your dinner in any of the rotational dining restaurants one of the Disney Cruise Wine Package brochures will be on your table.

Just ask your server if you want to purchase the Wine Package and he will arrange it for you. The Assistant Server is always the one who gets your drinks for you.

What Are Your Choices on The Disney Cruise Wine Package?

Each night you can choose as many bottles as you want from either the Classic or if you have paid the extra, the Premium Package.

If you have purchased the Premium Package you can also choose from the Classic.

However, we are not sure why you would to that as the Premium costs quite a bit more!

Does the Disney Cruise Package Really Save You Money?

The Disney Cruise Wine Package can save you up to 25% per bottle. There is some variation in the wine list prices of the bottles.

If you are really wanting to save the absolute most money then ask for a copy of the wine list when you order from your package.

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

Here is how much a bottle of wine costs for each type of Disney cruise wine package:

  • 3 Bottle Classic Wine Package $33.33 per day
  • 4 Bottle Classic Wine Package $32.50 per day
  • 5 Bottle Classic Wine Package $48.80 per day
  • 7 Bottle Classic Wine Package $30 per day
  • 3 Bottle Premium Wine Package $50 per day
  • 4 Bottle Premium Wine Package $49.75 per day
  • 5 Bottle Premium Wine Package $46.80 per day
  • 7 Bottle Premium Wine Package $45.71 per day

Remember again that all prices do not include the 18% automatic gratuity.

What If I Don’t Finish The Wine?

disneypalobrunchcost

The Disney Cruise Wine Package is designed to be convenient. If you do not finish your bottle of wine with your meal you can either ask for it to be stored for you, or you can take it to your room.

The bottles are simply corked up and stored.

Even though you will be in a different dining room the next evening, your bottle will be available for you.

If you do not finish the Wine Package before you disembark you can take up to 2 bottles of wine off the ship with you.

This is per person over 21. We don’t imagine this happening very often!

Is The Disney Cruise Wine Package Worth The Cost?

There really isn’t any one answer for this as it depends upon the individual.

Over the years I have sailed on many Disney cruises. Sometimes I have bought the wine package, other times not.

After my last Disney San Diego Cruise on the Wonder, I decided I probably won’t buy another Wine Package.

We decided to try the Premium Wine Package and in the end, we just thought it was overpriced.

We got the 3-night package and really didn’t like one of the wines. We also found that with a pre-dinner cocktail, there really was just too much for the 2 of us.

It really is an individual choice.

It is true that you will save on the per-bottle price if you buy a package. However, if you drink more as a result, or don’t like the wine, that doesn’t make it a good value!

Can You Take Your Own Wine on a Disney Cruise?

We have covered this in-depth in our post at

Taking Wine On Board a Disney Cruise

Each adult can bring up to 2 bottles of wine onboard a Disney Cruise.

It has to be in your carry-on luggage.

Anything found in checked luggage will be removed and returned to you on disembarkation .

Make sure that your wine is safe in your carry-on luggage.

does disney cruise lines have a drink package

There is a corkage fee of $25 for wine consumed in the dining room.

Obviously, the up-charge on some of the wines is more than $25 so if you want to save some money this could be the way.

Any wine that you open and consume in your stateroom does not have a corkage fee. Disney has a very liberal policy about consuming your own wine in public areas.

You aren’t supposed to do it, but we have never seen anyone being taken to task for it. You can ask for a wine glass from the bar or ask your room steward.

For ideas on savings, you can make on your cruise see our post at

Explore cruise offerings for cocktails, wine, beer, soda and more.

Cruise drink packages can provide incredible value for people who plan to regularly imbibe on their voyage and want the convenience of an unlimited open bar package – whereas they may not be a good deal for light drinkers. Other options include alcohol-free drink packages, which let cruisers indulge in soft drinks, hot chocolate, specialty coffees and a range of other nonalcoholic beverages.

Whether or not to get the drink package is a question all cruisers face, and there's no perfect answer for everyone. Read on to learn about the drink packages offered by the major cruise lines and what each beverage package includes.

Expert tip: The price of each beverage package will vary from sailing to sailing and may change at any time. Also note that cruise drink packages are almost always nontransferable and nonrefundable, and that everyone in your cabin needs to buy a package. If kids are cruising with adults who purchase an alcoholic drink package, a nonalcoholic package must be purchased for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Drink packages can be worth it on a cruise if you consume enough beverages to justify the cost of a package. If a drink package you're considering costs $85 per day, for example, you can try to estimate whether you would drink enough alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees and sodas to add up to or exceed this cost.

If you're a light drinker, these packages may not be a good deal for you at all.

Because drink packages are frequently discounted before a cruise, it makes sense to buy one pre-departure if you can. Also note that some cruise lines only offer drink packages on the day of embarkation and stop offering them for the rest of the cruise.

Cruise drink packages can never be shared. With all the major cruise lines, each guest in your cabin must purchase a package.
