If you recently started playing Just Cause 4, you may be wondering how to unlock the Fast Travel feature. While you can’t immediately use Fast Travel in Just Cause 4, the good news is that unlocking it is pretty simple.

How to Unlock and Use Fast Travel in Just Cause 4

In Just Cause 4, you can unlock a Fast Travel feature that’ll enable you to navigate your way through Solis. Before you can use Fast Travel, you’ll need to complete a few simple steps. First, finish the “Wanay Extraction” mission to full completion. The Wanay Extraction mission is relatively straightforward, and tasks you with helping aid a cluster of civilians as they make their way to safety.

Next, make your way over to the Wachikuni region of Solis. There, you can accept the “Illapa Project” mission. By accepting this mission, you’ll be given a cutscene where Rico is asked if he’s interested in working with of the resistance’s new pilots. As you might’ve guessed, these new pilots are the key to using Fast Travel in Just Cause 4.

To use Fast Travel once you have it unlocked in Just Cause 4, you’ll want to open your map of Solis. Note that you can only use Fast Travel to locations you’ve previously visited and discovered. To make Fast Travel fully efficient, you’ll want to progress through the game and continue discovering new locations. Survey the locations you've discovered, then select a location you wish to Fast Travel to.

After that, you’ll be met with a prompt to “Request Travel” from one of the resistance pilots. Confirm your Fast Travel, select a pilot, then board their plane to Fast Travel to your desired location. One thing to keep in mind is that Fast Travel in Just Cause 4 has a small cooldown. After you Fast Travel, you’ll need to wait until your pilot refuels their jet in order to Fast Travel again.

Other than that, you can use Fast Travel to help you save time, or if you want to go quickly go back and explore a previous area. Just Cause 4 takes Rico Rodriquez to a brand new, fictional South American location called Solis. The map is filled with war-torn towns and tornado creating technology and it’s huge. To get from mission to mission, as you take over areas, driving can take a while. So that you can get across the map quickly, here’s everything you need to know about how to fast travel in Just Cause 4 .

After a few hours of playing through the game, being introduced to the characters that help you upgrade your grappling hook, you’ll be able to start a mission called The Illapa Project. Soon after, you’ll be introduced to a new character who will introduce you to the idea of Pilots and Supply Drops.

Pilots are Just Cause 4’s version of Black Market Dealers. At the press of a button or two, they will air drop you a weapon or vehicle so that you can continue your tirade of destruction.

After the mission that follows this introduction, you’ll be able to use Pilots to fast travel. When you press the touchpad/view button to head into the map, you’ll see a load of little icons scattered around that are black and white. It’s difficult to tell what the icon is, but it kinda like an arrow going downwards on a white box.

When highlighting one of these icons, you’ll see a Request Travel option below the box that appears next to it. If you press Y/Triangle, you’ll be able to choose a Pilot to give you a lift there. Simply press X/A on an available Pilot and the game will load into the new area.

You’ll have to skydive from above the location you choose, but that’s helpful because it allows you to wingsuit to somewhere else nearby if you need to.

You should note, however, that the Pilots you have can only be used once every five minutes, so you can Fast Travel around over and over again. However, you can have up to seven Pilots available, so you shouldn’t be short of one very often. You unlock more as you increase your Army of Chaos level.

Here’s what you need to do to unlock fast travel in Just Cause 4.

How to Unlock Fast Travel

While there are plenty of ways to get around the world in Just Cause 4, if you’re looking for a speed transition to the other side of the country, then there are some options available to you. While we personally prefer grappling, parachuting and wingsuiting our way around the world, we understand that sometimes you just need to get somewhere as quickly as possible. That’s where the pilot system comes into play.

Unlike many games, Just Cause 4’s fast travel system is not based around points you unlock around the world. Instead, it’s based on a pilot system, which requires not only pilots to fly you around, but also a specific cooldown period for each pilot.

To unlock your first pilot—and thus unlock fast travel—players will need to continue through the game until they unlock the Illapa Project mission in the Wachikuni region. To unlock this mission you will need to first complete the Wanay Extraction mission which tasks you with freeing several civilians and then escorting them away from the ranks of the Black Hand mercenary group. With this mission completed, you should gain access to the Illapa Project mission. Complete it and then you will unlock your first Pilot.

Now, as we mentioned above, the pilot system works a bit differently than traditional fast travel systems in video games. You won’t be able to fast travel at will as much as you want, as each use of the fast travel system will result in a pilot being used and thus needing to refuel their plane. This leads to a short cooldown period, which you can counter by getting more pilots . Of course, that takes time so for the time being, make sure your use of the pilot system counts.

Just Cause 4 is now out, taking its own brand of explosive mayhem to a new location. The fictional South American country of Solis boasts a variety of biomes which allow Rico to make good use of his grappling hook, parachute and wingsuit.

But as satisfying as those mobility tools are to use, sometimes you just want to get from one place to the next quickly . Just Cause 4 allows you to Fast Travel across Solis, although the option isn't available right away. How do you use Just Cause 4 Fast Travel ? We're here to help.

How To Fast Travel In Just Cause 4

In order to unlock Fast Travel in Just Cause 4, you simply have to complete two of its missions. The first, Wanay Extraction , tasks Rico with freeing civilians and escorting them to safety . A pretty straightforward effort of bolstering your army in the fight against the Black Hand.

Completing Wanay Extraction unlocks the Project Illapa mission , found in the Wachikuni region . This mission gives access to pilots in the resistance and they're how you'll Fast Travel across Solis.

In order to Fast Travel, you need to open your map, select a previously discovered destination, press the highlighted Fast Travel button that comes up, and pick one of the available pilots. After a brief moment, you'll find yourself freefalling right above your target. The catch is that pilots have to refuel, which will put Fast Travel on cooldown. This can be partially solved by unlocking more pilots, but waiting shouldn't be that hard with the amount of stuff to blow up on offer.

If you’re not wise to it already, the size of the open world that you get to roam about in Just Cause 4 is quite substantial indeed. As such, manually traversing your way across it can prove to be quite the labor, even with the use of grappling hook and other tools to boost your speed. Luckily however, Fast Travel allows you to avoid all this and just get from one point to another with minimal fuss. So naturally, we’re going to let you know how to unlock fast travel in Just Cause 4 – because we’re nice like that.

Unlocking fast travel in Just Cause 4 is a little easier than you might expect.

Unlocked by progressing through the main storyline, before you can access the Fast Travel function in Just Cause 4 you must first complete the Illapa Project mission in the area of Wachikuni. To do this however, you must complete the Wanay Extraction mission – a somewhat basic affair that merely has Rico escorting a bunch of civilian types to safety.

Upon locking Fast Travel, you’ll gain access to a pilot whose job is essentially to shuttle you around the country. However, while Fast Travel lets you almost instantly travel to any location on the map, the uses of Fast Travel in Just Cause 4 are limited and can only be replenished once the pilot has refreshed after a period of time.

Thankfully, additional pilots will be unlocked as you progress through Just Cause 4; providing yet additional opportunities to hop onto a plane and to go wherever you want to go.

Fast Travel

Fast Travel is a feature in Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 4 .

A loading screen that mentions this. On many occasions JC3 loading screen picture and text combinations are random, but there is a very rare chance for the text and picture to make sense.

Description [ ]

This is a means of long distance travel, very similar to the Extraction system in previous games.

An identical helicopter. The actual one can not be hijacked.

Just Cause 3 [ ]

This feature is unlocked after the mission Friends Like These...

To do this, use the in-game map and click on the icon of a discovered settlement. One of the options will be "fast travel". It's only possible to travel to locations that have a map icon, such as marked settlements and Challenges, with no heat/missions active.'

A second option, available after completing Son of Medici , is to " re-oppress and Fast Travel". This can only be done with outposts, bases and towns . This feature will fast travel Rico to the selected location and reset the specific location to be controled by enemy factions and have all rebuilt. The player may re-oppress a settlement as many times as he wants.

A resupply point.

At first the only way to fast travel is to collect flares, which are consumed by fast travel. Flares initially have a capacity of one, but can be expanded to 5 via Gear Mods. Completing some Random Encounters reward the player with flares or a resupply point for both beacons and flares.

Free Fast Travel can be accessed by:

• Liberating all settlements in a province extends this benefit to anywhere in this province.
• Lighting all Rebel Shrines in a region allows it to cover the whole region, and the entire map if all Rebel Shrines in the game are lighted.

Once Rico arrives at the destination, he will be at the door of a hovering Eubus Eagle helicopter where the player can jump off and Skydive down. In the case of Challenge markers, Rico just teleports to said marker.

Just Cause 4 [ ]

This feature is unlocked after The Illapa Project .

Fast travel in Just Cause 4 is very similar to it in Just Cause 3. There's no longer a need for any flares. The player can simply click on any discovered and marked settlement (on the map ) and "request travel" (R on PC). Afterwards, a window pops up and the player will be told to select any available pilot. The pilots (see more about them at supply drop ) are members of the Army of Chaos .

Once at the destination, the camera will view the settlement. The player needs to press a button (space on a PC) to get off. Rico then appears on the screen and skydives to his destination, while the cargo plane used to transport him flies away.

Vehicles [ ]

In JC3 Rico is transported by a green Eubus Eagle . It's possible to use the Bavarium Wingsuit to get back up to it, but this helicopter has no collision models . Hence, it cannot be damaged or Hijacked . It's flown by a random civilian . Despite this, it can still be destroyed by the weapons on the Bavarium wingsuit.

However, it is possible to glitch into the helicopter by continuously wingsuiting into it. Most of the time, Rico will fly right through it, but sometimes he'll get stuck in the helicopter. Rico automatically dies shortly afterwards.

In JC4 they use the same cargo plane as the supply drop does. The pilots (see more about them at supply drop ) are members of the Army of Chaos . Note that since the pilots are the same for supply drop, if a drop or fast travel has happened recently, the pilot will be unavailable for a short while.

The plane can be shot down before it despawns. This has no consequences in-game.

• This is the only way Rico can be seen riding a helicopter by hanging from the side, rather than sitting inside, or hanging from the bottom.
• The pilot of the Eubus Eagle is immune to bullets, although he or she can be killed by blowing up the helicopter using explosions .
• Rico cannot grapple the helicopter itself, instead the pilot can be grappled. If the player does so, he will end up stuck inside the helicopter taking massive amounts of collision damage, causing death in a very short time ( video ).

Just Cause 4 review: A chaotic and addictive open world experience

Rico rodriguez is back in just cause 4, but how far has avalanche studios expanded his destructive capabilities since the last game turns out, more than i ever expected..

In a day and age where it feels like single-player games need to push grand new ideas and have revolutionary storytelling in order to be successful, sometimes it's nice to see titles that just focus on being plain fun . I've always appreciated Just Cause, Avalanche Studios' satirical open-world action series, for exactly this reason.

Blowing things up and abusing a silly physics engine in creative ways has an undeniable charm to it, but the last game in the series, Just Cause 3, suffered from feeling a little too repetitive since everything about the open world of Medici felt too structured and cookie cutter.

Thankfully, Just Cause 4's setting, Solìs, is much more diverse and dynamic than its predecessor. This, combined with a brand new engine and all of the new weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and gameplay systems you can interact with, has lead to what is undoubtedly the best Just Cause game yet.

The world is your oyster

Featuring a deep and diverse world, addictive action gameplay, and a fantastic new engine, Just Cause 4 is easily the best game in the series, hands down.

About this review

This review was conducted on a Windows 10 PC equipped with an Intel i5-8400 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 1050Ti graphics card, and 16GB of RAM, using a review copy of the game provided to Windows Central.

Story and writing

Just Cause 4 is set in the South American country of Solìs, and the franchise's protagonist Rico Rodriguez is tasked with freeing its people from a vicious dictator. By causing mayhem and destroying government military assets, Rico inspires the citizens of Solìs to join his Army of Chaos and fight back against the oppressors. This is the typical narrative that Just Cause is known for — and it's exactly as cheesy as it sounds — but that's a good thing. Good satire is rare these days, and a video game that humorously captures what we hate to love and love to hate about corny Hollywood action movies will always get a grin out of me.

Just Cause 4's story is just an excuse to blow things up — which is exactly what it should be.

Of course, a Just Cause story needs good comedy too, and Just Cause 4 has it in large quantities. Rico is full of sarcastic wisecracks and funny comments (such as "It's time to blow some shit up!") that never failed to get me to crack a smile, and a ton of the dialogue between Rico and other people in Solìs, such as fellow members of the Army of Chaos, is lighthearted and enjoyable.

The world of Just Cause 4 is expansive, diverse, and deep. One of the biggest disappointments about Just Cause 3 was that there was only one type of environment: grass plains. On top of this, each area that you had to clear was filled with the same exact objectives, which lead to a feeling of staleness and repetitiveness as you liberated Medici. Fortunately, Avalanche Studios took a page out of Just Cause 2's book for Just Cause 4 and reintroduced biomes to the franchise, including rainforest, desert, alpine, and snow, as well as the return of grassy plains. Additionally, military bases and towns are more unique as well, with each one featuring different types of objectives to complete in order to allow your army to move in and take control.

Speaking of the Army of Chaos, one of my favorite additions in Just Cause 4 is the front line mechanic. Like in previous games, you and your army take over the map by capturing specific regions. Unlike other Just Cause titles, however, this time you can see and participate in battles that take place on region borders. Fighting in them doesn't serve a purpose since you need to destroy military bases to actually break enemy lines, but that doesn't mean they're not an absolute blast to experience. Both the government and the Army of Chaos leverage heavy weapons, vehicles, and ordnance against each other on the front, and due to this, these areas are giant warzones that you can fight alongside your comrades in for hours against waves of foes.

Another system in the world worth noting is the brand new weather system, which causes tornadoes, blizzards, sandstorms, and more to spawn throughout Solìs depending on which biome you're currently in. If you choose to investigate and experiment with them, you'll be rewarded. For example, objects brought near tornadoes will get caught up by the wind and flung about, while throwing an enemy up into the air in a thunderstorm can cause them to get struck by lightning. I've never seen anything quite like these weather events in a game before, and I'm thoroughly impressed.

Gameplay systems

In terms of the gameplay experience, Just Cause 4 is the most dynamic game in the series by far. Rico's famous grappling hook can now have up to 10 tethers, which is double the maximum from Just Cause 3, and as you'd expect, this opens up a huge array of possibilities for messing around with Just Cause's trademark goofy physics. In addition to the standard ability to pull things together with tethers, both the boosters from the previous game as well as balloons have been made available as grapple tether mods with their own upgrade trees, and you can mix and match all of these in three different grapple presets to maximize your creative destruction.

Nothing, not even the sky, is the limit when it comes to Just Cause 4's gameplay depth.

Of course, Rico's grappling hook is also used for traversing the open world, alongside his parachute and wingsuit. These three tools work together beautifully in a trifecta of mobility, and a huge part of the reason why I have a hard time putting Just Cause 4 down is because of how much fun it is to combo all of them together to make my way from place to place in Solìs. The game does have a fast travel system, but I've never felt a desire to use it one time after over 20 hours of play because of how enjoyable the movement mechanics are.

When it comes to weapons and vehicles, Just Cause 4 has a massive arsenal of them that can be found throughout Solìs. Assault rifles, SMGs, RPGs, tanks, helicopters, motorcycles — Just Cause 4 has it all and then some, including a brand new secondary functionality for handheld weapons like rifle-mounted grenade launchers or concussive missiles. As you progress through the story and world, these will also become available at any time you please in the form of supply drops. This means that your favorite tools of destruction are only a few key presses away from being at your fingertips.

Presentation and performance

Just Cause 4 is built on a brand new engine, dubbed Apex by Avalanche Studios. After the catastrophic launch Just Cause 3 had, I was worried that Just Cause 4 would also be glitched and bugged to hell. Thankfully, though, the new Apex engine is incredibly powerful, and despite my graphics card being a bit below the recommended spec, I can run Just Cause 4 on the highest settings with relative ease. There are admittedly some moments where the draw distance feels poor, or the framerate dips a little bit, but by and large, the game runs excellently. I'm very impressed with how much Avalanche has improved in this regard, at least on PC where we've tested the game.

The fact the game runs superbly allows its incredible graphics to shine, as well. Just Cause 4's diverse world is truly a sight to behold, and each biome is gorgeous in its own special way. Visual effects for things like smoke, bullets, and explosions are also stunning and really help to sell the gratuitous violence on screen. Something I was completely surprised by, though, was the quality of the sound design. Everything from the sound of the gun you're firing to the chirps and whistles of the wildlife in the forest feel genuine, and that really helps create a feeling of immersion. When you graze the needles of a pine tree branch while flying with the wingsuit and actually hear Rico's body rustling through them, it makes the world seem real. It's the little details like this that take game design to the next level.

Should you buy Just Cause 4?

After the struggles of Just Cause 3, I was expecting Avalanche Studios to come out swinging with Just Cause 4. Even so, I'm still absolutely amazed at how incredible of an experience they've been able to craft.

• Comedic, satirical story.
• Stunning open world.
• Dynamic, engaging gameplay.
• Incredible new engine.
• Some minor performance hiccups.

Everything is absolutely fantastic, and while in-game performance isn't perfect , it's hardly enough of a downside to affect my view of the game overall. Avalanche has truly brought the thunder.

How To Earn Chaos Points Fast In Just Cause 4

Chaos Points are a progressive currency in Just Cause 4. As you earn more Chaos Points your Army of Chaos level increases, you unlock more squads and can therefore occupy more territories. While not directly involved in unlocking items, you will need Chaos Points to fuel your efforts and unlock all the guns and vehicles in the game.

Find yourself a powerful vehicle. Personally, I used the Spectre Attack Heli. They are quite common, you can find one in Prospero Astillero in Delta Rio Wanay, as one example. This is an attack helicopter that comes complete with 100 missiles.

Travel to any Black Hand base, whether the rebels own it or not, and seek out the red structures. These include power boxes, pylons, radar dishes, there’s tons of different items you can exploit – but all have a similar red color scheme.

Using rockets you can disable nearly all of these structures with a single rocket hit. With 100 Rockets per round, it’s quite easy to completely fill your Chaos Bar in a single trip. That’s the best way to How To Earn Chaos Points Fast In Just Cause 4 .

Later in the game you can summon the attack helicopter to save time and can use any other explosive vehicles, such as Patrol Boats. If you find yourself on a story mission with a powerful vehicle and endless enemies coming your way, take advantage and farm as much Chaos Points as possible.

Final Fantasy 16 really shook things up for the Final Fantasy franchise by being the first true-action RPG of the series and letting go of the turn-based combat it was known for. Additionally, rather than players controlling an entire party, they only control one character, Clive Rosfield , due to his ability to absorb the power of other Eikons as a jack of all trades. Despite all of these changes, its most innovative feature is Active Time Lore, which allows players to keep track of the game's lore in real time. The system then keeps a record of each stage of development for the lore, so players can revisit it at any time. Needless to say, it has left an indelible mark on the Final Fantasy franchise, as well as the entire RPG genre. Now, it seems Square Enix is keeping that trend going with Final Fantasy 16 's latest DLC expansion.

Final Fantasy 16 's Rising Tide DLC has finally been released, which sees Clive, Jill, and Joshua traveling to Mysidia, one of the last few regions in the Northern Territories to remain untouched by the Blight. Mysidia introduces brand-new visuals to Final Fantasy 16 , including a lush landscape teeming with life, unlike the rest of the world's muted colors. Along with Mysidia comes new bosses and enemies, an original story, and plenty of new side quests. However, there is one feature Rising Tide brings to the table that should arguably be on the radar of every RPG from here on out, and it is directly tied to Final Fantasy 16 's side quests.

In fact, it was confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 's Active Time Lore was added to the game because even the developer couldn't keep up with its complex lore. Now, one highly useful fast-travel feature introduced in Final Fantasy 16 's Rising Tide DLC should receive the same treatment.

The Rising Tide introduces a host of new side quests for players to complete for the people of Haven, and while many of these side quests are arguably uninteresting, the burden of completing them is eased ever so slightly with the addition of a helpful fast-travel feature. Once a side quest is completed in Final Fantasy 16 The Rising Tide, players are given the option to fast-travel back to the quest-giver to turn the quest in. Rather than taking players back to the area in which the quest giver can be found, the feature transports them directly back to the very NPC they are directed to speak with.

While it's possible for players to fast-travel to the monolith in Haven and then walk to the quest-giver, this new fast-travel feature cuts down on time even more, which is doubly helpful given that Clive can't be made to sprint in populated areas.

Side quests in modern gaming are infamously divisive, and only a handful of games have managed to nail down the formula for making them both engaging and worth completing. As such, mechanics like The Rising Tide's side quest fast-travel feature help the whole experience feel a bit more streamlined. There is little reason this same feature shouldn't be an RPG staple from now on — much like Active Time Lore — and it continues to prove Final Fantasy 16 's ability to innovate and set standards for the genre.
