My 600-lb Life season 11 star Syreeta Covington wanted to change her life on the TLC series, and there's now an update about her life. Syreeta was 31 years old and very overweight, so she sought help from renowned bariatric surgeon, Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, AKA Dr. Now. When Syreeta began her weight loss journey with him, she was shocked to see that she had gotten up to 603 pounds. Syreeta lost some weight by following Dr. Now's diet and exercise program, but it wasn't enough.

My 600-lb Life's Dr. Now approved Syreeta for weight loss surgery under the condition that she would lose another 25 pounds in a month after her initial 59-pound weight loss. However, after four months, she had gained nine pounds instead. She went to therapy, and worked hard to meet Dr. Now's next goal of losing 40 pounds in two months. Syreeta lost 29 pounds instead, but Dr. Now said that if she kept progressing over the next two months, he would perform weight loss surgery on her. After working with Dr. Now for a year, Syreeta lost 97 pounds and weighed 506 pounds.

My 600-Lb Life's Syreeta Covington Continued To Try To Lose Weight

After My 600-lb Life, Syreeta hasn't shared if she had weight loss surgery. Her Facebook page has many posts that indicate that she has continued to work out after the show ended. In her most recent photos from January 22, Syreeta seems to be staying on track, and not gaining weight. In a post from August 2022, Syreeta wrote, "I literally worked out for a whole 48 mins by myself without my trainer this time." This post proved that she was motivated to lose weight.

Syreeta and her husband Lawrence are still married. In another photo posted on January 22, Syreeta smiled while standing next to him. She looked as though she has kept up with her weight loss transformation. Lawrence was a great source of support throughout Syreeta's My 600-lb Life journey .

Syreeta had a difficult life growing up. As a survivor of childhood mental, physical, and sexual abuse, she turned to food as a source of comfort. However, through diet, exercise, and therapy, she worked hard to achieve her weight loss goals. At the end of her My 600-lb Life episode, she revealed that she wanted to have a baby with Lawrence. Hopefully, Syreeta will qualify for weight loss surgery soon and live a healthier and happier life.

What Happened To My 600 Lb-Life's Syreeta Covington?

"My 600-lb Life" Season 11, Episode 4 aired on February 22, 2023, introducing audiences to Syreeta Covington. Her backstory was familiar to longtime viewers of the reality series, as she suffered abuse as a child and turned to eating to help her feel better, similar to  Mercedes Cephas from "My 600-lb Life."  Covington knew she needed to make changes for the better, and while she mentions having issues trusting people, she realizes she needs the help of Dr. Now and the show. 

Her episode ends with Dr. Now, whose real name is Dr. Younan Nowzaradan , praising her for her hard work. However, he still suggests she lose some more weight before performing bariatric surgery. It's unclear from social media whether she attained that goal, but she's uploaded a couple of selfies to Facebook throughout 2024. There's also no mention on her page about her "My 600-lb Life" episode, which would seem like a big deal to promote. Perhaps she wants to be low-key about her reality TV appearance.

Even with no significant updates, Covington's time on "My 600-lb Life" appears to have been worth it. Throughout her episode, she lost 97 pounds total to weigh 506 pounds. It's an excellent start, and hopefully, she will stick to the regimen to get even healthier.

It's a difficult journey to lose that much weight, but fortunately, Syreeta Covington has support from her husband, Lawrence Covington. Some men featured on the show haven't always backed their partners' journeys. "My 600-lb Life" fans had a lot to say about Bettie Jo Elmore's husband on Season 3 because he didn't want her to lose weight for fear she would leave him. Fortunately, Lawrence was far more caring on Syreeta's episode. 

While Syreeta mentioned having trust issues, she clarified that her spouse is one person she can rely on. However, updates on Lawrence's social media are also hard to come by. He's on Instagram but doesn't post about her very often. The last one about Syreeta was uploaded on July 10, 2023, where he wished her a happy birthday. It doesn't seem there are any problems between the two (at least what can be gleaned online); they may not want to delve into their personal lives on social media. 

Syreeta was posting about exercising more in 2022, with one Facebook post on August 15 of that year reading: "Even [though] I'm in a lot of pain I'll still be in the gym today." Seeing as her "My 600-lb Life" episode aired in February 2023, there's a good chance she would've been filming her journey when that post was made. Even though there haven't been updates in quite a while, one can only hope Syreeta and her husband are still doing well as she continues her weight loss journey. 

Syreeta From 'My 600-Lb Life' Is Ready To Make a Major Change for Her Health

Many participants on TLC's My 600-Lb Life are dealing with long-standing trauma and Syreeta Covington from the Feb. 22 episode is no different. She endured abuse and neglect as a child and much of that led to her over-eating habits. Which, in turn, led her on the path to where she is now, at a weight that isn't conducive to living a healthy lifestyle.

So, where is Syreeta from My 600-Lb Life now? She explains on the show that she has a hard time trusting people who want to help her, even though she does trust and rely on her husband to care for her. She's at a turning point, however, and she's ready to make the right changes to qualify for bariatric surgery and get healthy to essentially save her own life.

Where is Syreeta Covington from 'My 600-Lb Life' now?

Syreeta explains in her My 600-Lb Life episode that she was "raised by a lot of people" from the time she was a toddler. She reveals she was abused sexually, mentally, and physically by the time she was eight years old. Because none of the adults who passed through Syreeta's life were equipped to properly help her, she eventually found herself in girls' homes and then in juvenile detention.

After she met her birth mother and that relationship went south fast, Syreeta had to come to terms with the possibility that she and her mother weren't meant to have a relationship.

"So after that, I just made my peace with loving the feeling I got from food," she explains in the episode.

By the end of the episode, Syreeta has just a couple of months to go before Dr. Now decides if he can approve her for surgery. But he commends her for her hard work up until this point and she's eager to get in the gym and continue to lose weight.

Outside of the show, Syreeta hasn't revealed if she had weight loss surgery or not. But her Facebook profile has a number of posts from 2022 about working out, losing weight, and staying on track. Given her drive to lose weight on My 600-Lb Life and being open to change, it's possible Syreeta either had surgery or she's close to that point now.

Syreeta's husband, Lawrence Covington, has shared photos of her on his Instagram account, but it's hard to say how much more weight she has lost since filming My 600-Lb Life . Still, it definitely looks like Syreeta embraced the challenge presented to her on the show and she continues to work hard to reach her goals.

Syreeta once worked as a hairstylist, but on the show, she's all but bed-ridden due to her size. As a result, her husband cares for her. And, although Syreeta can barely bring herself to trust Dr. Now, she's comfortable with her husband caring for her. And he, in turn, just wants what's best for her at this point.

As long as Syreeta can put aside her trust issues, she could have what it takes to lose weight, qualify for surgery, and get healthy. The alternative isn't an option for her at this point.

'My 600-LB Life' Season 11 Stars Where Are They Now? Syreeta Covington Update

When viewers tuned into "My 600-LB Life" Season 11 on Wednesday night, they met 31-year-old Syreeta Covington, who was 603 pounds. The episode followed the TLC subject's journey of joining Dr. Nowzaradan's weight loss program to receive gastric bypass surgery.

According to the way Syreeta's episode ended and a few Instagram updates, it appears the subject has yet to reach the weight loss goals she wanted to accomplish.

During her episode of "My 600-LB Life," Syreeta revealed she turned to food due to the sexual, physical, and emotional abuse she faced while growing up in different foster homes.

Syreeta briefly reunited with her birth mother at age 11, but the two struggled to get along. However, Syreeta found peace with food and reached 250 pounds toward the end of her preteen years.

Syreeta, who then began struggling to trust people, returned to foster care and reached 450 pounds by the time she finished high school.

Syreeta found some happiness after meeting her husband, Lawrence, on a dating website but feared he would leave her for another woman due to her weight. The TLC subject's unhealthy lifestyle also had her worried that her life would end if she didn't get help.

After meeting with Dr. Now, Syreeta was expected to follow a strict diet and workout plan. She initially failed to meet the weight loss goals but began showing some progress.

Dr. Now revealed he would approve Syreeta for surgery if she lost another 25 pounds and moved to Houston. However, she ended up gaining 9 pounds and lost the opportunity.

Twelve months after joining Dr. Now's weight loss program, Syreeta was down a total of 97 pounds, putting her at 506 pounds. By the end of the episode, Dr. Now revealed she would be approved for gastric bypass surgery if she consistently lost weight.

According to photos from Lawrence's Instagram account, the couple is still together. A photo of Syreeta was shared on Feb. 6 in which her face appears somewhat slimmer compared to an October 2022 photo . It is unclear whether Syreeta was ever approved for surgery.

"My 600-LB Life" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.

Syreeta Covington shares her story on season 11, episode 4 of TLC’s My 600-lb Life , and hopes to be approved for weight loss surgery with Dr.Now. As well as Syreeta, we’re also introduced to her husband Lawrence.

Syreeta opened up about many hard topics on My 600-lb Life including her difficult childhood, which was spent in foster care. She then explained that she ‘just made her peace with loving the feeling she got from food.’

Who is Syreeta Covington?

Syreeta Covington hails from Illinois and at the time of filming My 600-lb Life, was 31 years old.

She’s married to her husband Lawrence, who is her primary caregiver.

After she left high school, Syreeta revealed that she weighed 450 lbs.

Syreeta’s husband Lawrence is her primary caregiver, as she’s practically bedridden due to her size.

He’s a great support and the two diet and exercise together, even attempting to make the workouts fun.

As Syreeta used to play volleyball, the couple would often incorporate this into their exercise routine.

Lawrence is active on Instagram and posts pictures of the two together.

At the end of Syreeta’s My 600-lb Life episode, we saw Dr.Now tell her she has two months left to see if she’s approved for weight loss surgery.

As of now, it is not clear whether she was approved for the surgery or not.

Just like My 600-lb cast member Wess , she regularly updates her Facebook page. She shares many snaps of herself and Lawrence on the social media platform, so the couple are still going strong.

She also posts about going to the gym, and in one post replied to her friend saying: “My goal is to go every day this week”, so it seems like Syreeta is still committed to her weight loss journey.

Seana Collins: Where is My 600-lb Life Star Now?

TLC’s ‘ My 600-lb Life ‘ highlights a variety of inspiring experiences of morbidly obese individuals who have attempted to reduce weight. The show presents several of these experiences in which the cast members, who mostly weigh 600 pounds or more, follow strict and demanding adjustments, including diet and exercise routines. Famous bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, AKA Dr. Now, serves as their mentor and encourages them in their effort to lose enough weight to be eligible for weight reduction treatment.

Since its debut in 2012, the reality show has shown both successful patient stories as well as struggling ones who have a more difficult time losing weight. Seana Collins from season 8 episode 9 was one of the latter ones who had a hard time meeting the diet recommendations for improvement. Now that she’s been away from the cameras for a while, viewers must be curious to know where she is.

Seana Collins My 600-lb Life Journey

When Seana Collins appeared in season 8, she weighed around 659 pounds. The then-22-year-old young woman lived with her mother, Cricket, in Kansas City, Missouri, but the latter was mostly absent due to work and hired a caretaker to make her food. Seana bathed and moved around her house on her own but depended on the caretaker to cook her all the high-calorie junk foods. She was ashamed of her body and felt “trapped most of the time because of how hard it is to move and get around.”

Seana had a very traumatic childhood which led her to develop a food addiction. Apart from being the youngest patient, she was also younger mentally, making her stick to food for emotional comfort. Her weight gain started from an early stage, primarily due to her abusive father and absent mother. As per Seana, her father abused her physically and verbally because of his drug problem in her mother’s absence. As a little child, she never told her mother either, which is why it continued for a long time.

When her mother finally left her husband after he tried to light the car Seana was in on fire, the abuse continued because Seana was sent to his house for a month in the summers. Thus, she gained more than 200 pounds by age 10, which worsened after kids in school made fun of her, and she had no friends or companions other than food. Eventually, the bullying got so bad for her that she dropped out of school at age 16, went through a mental breakdown, and had to go to be admitted to a hospital.

Seana did not continue her treatment for long but went to therapy for some time, didn’t gain much from it, and put on more weight — up to 500 pounds. By age 19, Seana qualified for a disability allowance, got a separate apartment, kept eating more, and later met a guy online who soon moved in with her. Regardless, things became worse as he was a meth addict, which led her to addiction, too. However, her mother soon got her out of it, and they began living together.

Seana did not have a smooth journey after meeting Dr. Now, as she kept losing the diet plan twice and did not contact him to ask for another for fear of what he might say. In two months, she lost no weight, and in her next appointment, she only lost 1 pound. After getting another chance, she faced another problem when her mother got transferred, and she had to live independently. Thus, after a while, she moved to Houston. Living in a hotel, Seana somehow managed to lose 36 pounds but fell into her eating habits again and regained the weight back, even more than before.

Seana Collins Keeps a Low-Profile Now

After Seana lost some weight, she was sent to therapy by Dr. Now, but it seemed to have adverse effects on her. Supposedly, her traumas were too severe to cope with her emotions while talking about her childhood; thus, she again began binge eating to deal with those emotions. She gradually regained the weight and said, “I think the therapy messed me up. And it’s terrifying because Dr. Now said I only have one chance left ’cause without this I’m doomed, I’m going to die soon.”

Sadly, by the end of her episode, Seana gained 25 pounds, weighing more than her original weight. She lived alone in her hotel room, ate everything she wanted, and hardly left the place. Dr. Now even said to her: “You don’t have any support from your family, you have depression, anxiety, and multiple issues you need to take care of. I know it’s very hard when you are alone but you need to decide if you want to change your situation and live or if you want to continue on this path you are on.”

After being warned again about her future and life, Seana promised to work on her issues. With the doctor’s help, she began taking water-aerobic lessons as an exercise form and moved out of the hotel room to live independently. He agreed to help her again if she managed to lose 50 pounds and show her weight-loss dedication. Post the show, Seana has refrained from being in the limelight or sharing details about her weight loss on public platforms. However, she does look healthier and is likely keeping her journey going. Therefore, we only wish her success and happiness in the future.

The My 600-lb Life star was also forced to become more physically active. Fortunately, the approach they took was effective. From 648 pounds, Allen was able to bring himself down to 376 lbs. His journey continued after the show. However, things went silent when Vianey passed away.

One of Vianey’s last posts about her husband was when they purchased sunglasses to protect his eyes amid his “vision situation.” The My 600-lb Life star is noticeably slimmer compared to when he was still on the show. Vianey also shocked many fans after admitting that her husband is borderline autistic or on the spectrum.

Angela even claimed that Vianey told her to be with her husband before she passed away. But many Reddit users aren’t having it and hope that Allen will escape.
