The only bummer was the air-conditioning was not working great we kept asking them to turn it up and they said that it was up. That was the only slight downside. It was not intolerable or miserable. It just could’ve been cooler. Our guide was amazing, I can’t remember his name but he was great. We went to San Pancho and we only had about 45 minutes there. I wish we had longer there and then we went to Sayulita for approximately three hours and that was amazing. The timing for that I feel was just right. It gave you plenty of time to walk around, shop, explore the city, stop for drinks, and eat lunch. They then dropped us back off at our hotel. It was a lot of fun and a wonderful day. I only wish that we had a little bit longer time in San Pancho, but I would not want to take away from the time in Sayulita. Maybe just extend the excursion by half an hour or so. He was absolutely fabulous and used the time in travel to talk about everything we were seeing, & Mexico in general. He really really did enhance the day! Same but different than Puerto Vallarta and made us leave, wanting more! If I could make any change, it would have been to have have day extended to spend more time in San Pancho (30 minute stop). Keep in mind, some of the day is to pick travelers up, travel time to the towns, and drop people off, so don't expect all of the time to be spent in the towns. Then you have a tequila tasting, which was excellent! The real deal made from 100% pure blue agave! They then took us to have lunch in a secluded spot in the jungle by a tranquil river. We didn’t know what to expect with this tour without any reviews, but we took a chance and we were not disappointed one bit, in fact we couldn’t believe how much we enjoyed it. First off, the crew was exceptional and constantly waited on you. The breakfast of chiliquiles and eggs was AMAZING!! Lunch also blew us away , so so so good! We did an ATV ride up to the waterfall, and while beautiful it was a small waterfall. But the best part was the ride thru the little fishing village. Just so so fun, loved seeing the behind the scenes of the town and the experience was so unique and brand new for us. Saw lots of iguanas in the trees along the way. Just loved the scenery too it seemed unreal that this little rocky beach with this village was in Mexico. A couple of things, water was murky and pretty rough so unable to snorkel or kayak for safety sake, but also we appreciated that they kept us safe, and it didn’t affect our experience at all. We did have 3 older ladies with us and while they managed it was a little bit of a long day and long walks and ladder climbing to get back on the boat. All it really is is a simple trip where the Guide drops you off in two towns. You don't need this service. As often happens in Mexico, a police officer tried to hit up our driver for a bribe. Reservations are non-refundable if canceled within 24 hours prior to the start of a tour. Canceling a reservation at least 24 hours in advance of the tour start time is 100% refundable.

Reschedule Policies: Tours cannot be rescheduled within 24 hours of tour start time. Reschedules outside of 24 hours of the tour start time are free of charge (always having in mind availability).

Late arrivals will be considered as “No-Show”, and no refunds will be issued.

Puerto Vallarta Pirate Ship Tour

You have two different options for your Puerto Vallarta pirate boat. There are day and night tours that provide a different experience.

Both tours depart from the Maritime Terminal, that’s across from Sam’s Club and Walmart. Any local bus that says “Walmart” on the window will get you there for just 10 pesos, or you can take an Uber/Taxi. Click here for directions.

There is a port fee for each passenger of 30 pesos that you need to pay before boarding the pirate ship, so be sure to bring some small change to take care of that. Once you’re paid up, it’s all aboard with your fellow buccaneers.

Daytime Pirate Ship Tour

The day tour starts at 8:30 AM from Tuesday to Sunday and starts off with an “Under the Sea” breakfast served in their tavern. Some fun activities on deck follow as they hoist the sails and hit the open sea.

While cruising across Banderas Bay, you’ll get to enjoy the pirate show. It’s a good time full of your favorite chanteys that will have you yelling “Blow me down!”

Before you know it, you’ll arrive at the stunning Playa Majahuitas. Here you can enjoy various activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, or banana boat rides.

All that activity is sure to work up an appetite. Once you’re back on board the ship, it’s time for lunch. The menu includes plenty of seafood choices (salmon, octopus, and tuna) along with chicken and BBQ ribs.

They also have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Just be sure to specify in advance if you would like one.

If you’re in need of some grog to wash it all down, there’s an open bar with plenty of options. They have rum, vodka, and of course tequila in addition to beer and wine. Just don’t be too much of a carouser or they’ll make you walk the plank.

For an additional charge, you can upgrade to premium. This includes lobster tail and filet mignon as well as a variety of whiskeys.

Puerto Vallarta Pirate Ship Night Tour

Whereas the daytime tour is fun for the whole family, the evening tour is meant for adults. It happens every night and starts with check-in at the terminal at 16:45 PM.

If you’re a lowly landlubber, it’s all good. The crew will get everything ready to set sail as you enjoy live music and a drunken pirate show. Get your sea legs with a clap of thunder from the open bar.

As with the day tour, there are some fun group activities on board as you sail across the bay. Next, it’s time to head to the dining room for a scrumptious dinner. The menu is similar to the day tour with the addition of a stuffed chicken option.

After dinner, you’ll get a little history lesson about the ship before the big pirate show. A major selling point of the evening show is that you get to enjoy a fireworks display.

It winds down with a full-blown booze cruise on the way back to the terminal.
