Robbie Williams at Manchester AO Arena - stage times, setlist, support and what to expect on XXV tour
Pop showman Robbie Williams is heading back to Manchester this weeks for three huge shows - here's everything you need to know
- 15:43, 17 OCT 2022
The ultimate pop showman Robbie Williams will be returning to Manchester next week for a string of huge gigs to celebrate 25 years as a solo artist. Manchester, of course, is where he first found fame as one fifth of boyband Take That , so the city will always have a special place in his heart.
And, naturally, when he announced his big arena return earlier this year, tickets were selling so quickly for his first two Manchester gigs that a third date was added. He'll be at the AO Arena on Wednesday October 19, before returning on Friday and Saturday (October 21 and 22).
The tour for Tunstall's finest Robbie , 48, comes on the back of his new album XXV featuring many of his greatest hits and fan favourites, which were all re-recorded and newly orchestrated with the Metropole Orkest. The autumn arena tour is billed as "a joyous celebration of Robbie’s 25 years as a solo artist".

Fans can expect some of his biggest hits on the setlist and some huge fan singalongs to the likes of Come Undone, Rock DJ, Kids, Feel and, of course, Angels.
There's likely to be a nod to a few Take That classics too. And heck, he might even roll out a bit of Oasis, if his homecoming show in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this year was anything to go by when he did a cheeky bit of Don't Look Back in Anger. Here's what we know so far about the gig if you're heading along to any of the Manchester shows this week to help you plan your night.
Who is the support act?
Support on this new tour comes from Lufthaus, which is yes, the new Robbie Williams electronic project. But we're told Robbie does not actually appear during the support set from the band's Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis, but you will hear his vocals.
Lufthaus merge music, art and digitial technology in their live performance so it will definitely be worth getting their early to give them a watch.
Stage times
Stage times are always given as a rough guide and are subject to change. The advice is always to arrive as early as possible to get through the security checks and to find your seats as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
Doors — 6:00 pm
Lufthaus — 7:30 pm
Robbie Williams — 8:40 pm
Curfew — 11:00 pm
Robbie kicked off the new tour at London's 02 Arena on October 9, before continuing on to Birmingham's ResortWorld Arena. He's played roughly the same set at both venues, so this is likely what we can expect here at the Manchester gigs this week.

Are tickets still available?
There is only limited availability on seats for the first two nights, October 19 and 21, which were the first to go on sale earlier this year. A third date was announced for Saturday October 22, where some tickets are still available.

The European Weekends Of Mass Distraction tour of 2003 saw Robbie play to a massive 1. 2 million people with 21 shows across Europe. The European Weekends Of Mass Distraction tour of 2003 saw Robbie play to a massive 1.2 million people with 21 shows across Europe. A stadium tour of monumental proportions, the gigs drew in huge crowds - never had Knebworth Park, home to a string of legendary shows, played host to such a triumphant occasion. Ticket sales for the UK dates broke all sales records, selling out in less than eight hours. The tour was preceded by a warm-up gig in Paris, and then finally kicked off with two nights in Edinburgh where Robbie played to crowds of more than 60,000. And that was just the start of things to come...! The tour had a massive impact on Robbie's fan base across the continent. France had previously been slow to embrace the Robbie Williams phenomenon but was now gripped and sales of Escapology began to soar. The latest wave of publicity and live appearances had propelled the album into the top three of the album chart. The Knebworth gigs made their mark on music history by attracting the biggest crowds ever recorded. More than 375,000 fans rocked up to the event over a 3-day period of blazing hot sunshine. The band line-up featured a new acquisition of Robbie's good friend Max Beesley as guest pianist and saw the departure of Guy Chambers as musical director and guitarist Fil Eisler. In came new recruits Mark Plati as musical director on keyboards and guitar and Neil Taylor also on guitar.

Take That: This Life on Tour: Setlist, start time, dates, venues, support act and tickets

Take That – This Life album trailer
By Mayer Nissim
Take That are back on their first full-length tour in five years.
Listen to this article
Since Take That returned nearly two decades ago, they've never really gone away.
Although Robbie Williams came and went, and Jason Orange retired from pop altogether in 2013, Gary Barlow , Mark Owen and Howard Donald have kept the flame alive.

As a trio, the group have played the occasional live show in the past five years – including a massive concert at Hyde Park this summer – but they haven't been on tour properly since before COVID-19.
Finally though, Take That are back on the road, with a massive UK and Ireland tour announced for 2024.

Who is supporting Take That on the This Life tour?
Announced as support for the This Life tour is former X Factor cheeky chappy and "very special guest" Olly Murs .
Olly's relationship with Take That goes back to his reality competition days, where he performed 'Angels' with on-off Thatter Robbie Williams in the 2009 final.
He also supported Take That when they played Hyde Park in the summer of 2016.
It's not impossible that another act may be added to the bill on some or all dates, but for now it's just Olly on the undercard.
Will Jason Orange or Robbie Williams appear with Take That on the This Life tour?
Since 2014, Take That have been very much a trio.
Robbie had returned to reunite the original five-piece lineup from 2010 to 2014, but he has since focused on his solo career.
Not long after Robbie parted from the group for the second time, Jason Orange not only left Take That, but quit the whole entertainment industry .
Nothing is impossible in the wonderful world of pop, but we'd say it's pretty unlikely that Jason will pop by.
Earlier this year Mark Owen said of Jason: "I think he felt like he didn't want to do it any more."
That tallied with Jason's own words when he left the group, saying: "There have been no fallings out, only a decision on my part that I no longer wish to do this."
Meanwhile, Gary Barlow had said: "Jason isn't coming back. Take That is Mark, Howard and me for the next few years."
And back in 2018, Howard said: "Jason has gone off the grid. He's not taking emails or phone calls or stuff like that. That's good for him."
Robbie is a very busy chap, between his solo career and long-awaited Better Man biopic , and he's only just wrapping up his XXV 25th anniversary celebration global tour at the end of 2023.
There's not been any serious whispers that he'll rock by, but he did show up with Mark not that long ago , so we've got our fingers crossed that he might consider it.
