Right off the bat I’m going to tell you there is no “best” trolley tour in Savannah…you just need to decide on the ideal option for your particular situation! Today I’m going to break down your choices and help you decide which is right for you. I’ve also included some Savannah trolley tour reviews and lots of helpful input from members of my private Facebook group.

Savannah Trolley Tour Options

I’m only going to focus on the three main tour companies, and I’ll review them in alphabetical order: Kelly Tours, Old Savannah Tours, and Old Town Trolley.

The last two offer Hop-On/Hop-Off options, while Kelly tours currently does not.

ALL of the tours are narrated.

I’m saving the ghost trolleys and special trolleys for a later post.

Should You Do a Savannah Trolley Tour?

My personal opinion is that Savannah is best seen by foot .

The Historic District is small and very walkable, and you’ll notice so many more details when you’re strolling through the squares versus peering out the window of a trolley.

• Try a Walking Tour of Savannah

However, I realize many people have mobility issues or prefer not to walk for hours on end — especially in Savannah’s soul-sucking heat and humidity — so I totally understand the lure of the trolleys!

Another decent reason to opt for a trolley tour is because I think it’s better to let someone else do the driving on your first day in the city versus driving around the city yourself.

Hear me out …

Savannah isn’t always the easiest place for newcomers to navigate; it’s filled with notoriously bad drivers, one-way streets, cyclists, and SCAD students rushing to class.

There are also 22 squares that you have to detour around when you’re driving, and sometimes newcomers have trouble navigating them. (FYI: Yield to the car already circling the square, not to those entering the square.)

The solution? Let a tour guide shuttle you around!

That way you can get familiar with the layout of the Historic District while enjoying a narrated overview of the city.

Hop-On/Hop-Off Tours vs. Nonstop Tours

One of the biggest decisions you’ll have to make when selecting a tour is whether to do the Hop-On/Hop-Off option or the 1.5-hour non-stop tour instead.

If you’re not in any rush and are operating on Savannah time, aka: as slow as a Southern drawl, my suggestion is to purchase the Hop-On/Hop-Off ticket and then ride it all the way around once without hopping off.

That way you’ll get a good overview of the Historic District and can make note of the attractions you want to see most.

Then, on your second loop around, “hop off” to visit the attractions you noted.

Walk around to explore the nearby squares and anything else that catches your eye before “hopping” back on at one of the next stops.

I always suggest newbies take one of the trolleys and take the whole tour before doing the on and off. I suggest they bring a pen and circle on the map the things they want to see/stop at after the first go-round. Lori M.S. via my Savannah First-Timer’s Guide private Facebook group

If you’re super short on time, I vote for a non-stop tour instead (especially if you’re just doing a day trip).

The uninterrupted tours are faster, since you won’t waste precious time waiting for others to board.

Once you’ve done the uninterrupted tour and determined what interests you most, make a beeline to those spots on foot or take the free DOT shuttle to get there.

Perks of Both Tours

Both the Hop-On/Hop-Off tours and the non-stop history tours offer…

• A narrated history of Savannah
• Restaurant and sightseeing suggestions from your guide
• Breaks from the heat to enjoy a nice breeze
• A respite from the rain or cold on bad weather days (the trolley windows can be closed)
• An easier way to cover a lot of ground for seniors, families lugging babies around, or anyone with mobility issues

All three tours offer accessibility-friendly options, such as storage for wheelchairs, scooters, and foldable baby strollers.

If you have specific special needs you’re concerned about, be sure check each company’s individual website or call them directly.

Most of the trolleys run year-round — even on holidays!

The St. Patrick’s and Martin Luther King holidays are the two primary exceptions, since there are large parades downtown on those days.

Hop-On/Hop-Off Trolley Perks

• Pick and choose where you “hop off”
• Skip certain attractions if you aren’t interested
• Use the trolley to rest your feet for short periods of time while between landmarks
• You’ll have a variety of drivers, so you’ll get a different take on the history from each one

Non-Stop History Tour Perks

• Faster than the Hop-On/Hop-Off, since you won’t have to repeatedly wait for passengers to load and unload
• Better for enjoying an uninterrupted historical narration of Savannah

Hop-On/Hop-Off Trolley Tour Map

The routes that Old Savannah Tours and Old Town Trolley Tours take for their Hop-On/Hop-Off tours are very similar. To show you just how similar they are, I created a map of Hop-On/Hop-Off locations:

Old Savannah Tours icons are blue and Old Town Trolley icons are orange. You can click on each stop to read more about it.

They practically overlap in every instance! I even spaced them slightly apart when they did overlap, just so you could see each icon.

The main differences are that Old Savannah tours goes to the Owens-Thomas House and Slave Quarters and to Telfair Academy, while Old Town Trolley goes to Davenport House instead.

Old Town Trolley also drops by their Welcome Center at the end of their tour.

Savannah Trolley Tour Reviews

Even though I try not to play favorites, I do make every effort to support local businesses on this site!

For that reason, I frequently recommend Old Savannah Tours to my readers. They were the original trolley tour company in Savannah and are still locally owned.

All three companies employ locals, though, so they’re all helping support the people who live here.

You can’t go wrong with any of the tours!

No matter which trolley company you opt for, I suggest also adding a Black history tour of Savannah to your itinerary.

The narrated trolley tours tend to omit many of the crucial details regarding how this city came to be.

Now…since each trolley company has its own individual strengths, let’s dive into what makes each one unique.

Kelly Tours (Grayline)

Even though Kelly Tours doesn’t offer a Hop-On/Hop-Off tour, they’re still a fantastic option.

If you purchase either of their uninterrupted tours, they offer unlimited pick-ups and drop-offs both on the day of your tour and the following day on their smaller free shuttle service. **That’s a huge bonus!**

Do they have a free shuttle? Yes. As mentioned, their free shuttles will not only pick you up and drop you off at your hotel within the Historic District on the day of your tour, but the driver will also deliver you to various points of interest the following day.

Do they have free parking? Some. They offer a very limited number of free spots behind their Welcome Center on a first come/first serve basis. You’ll probably end up parking at the Savannah Visitor Center, which is just steps away. Are the trolleys air-conditioned? Sort-of. Technically they are, but since the trolleys are open-air, you won’t be able to feel the A/C much. The free shuttles have A/C, though!

Can you board anywhere? No. The trolley departs from the Savannah Visitor Center, so you’ll need to meet there. If you opt for their 360° Panoramic Tour, it’s a smaller and more personalized tour, and they’ll pick you up at your hotel.

What time does the last tour of the day depart? The last tour departs between 3 and 3:30 in order to return to the Savannah Visitor Center by 5 pm.

Old Savannah Trolley Tours

Aside from being locally owned, what sets Old Savannah Tours apart are the costumed character actors who board the trolleys.

The most popular person to board is usually Forrest Gump, but there are quite a few other characters, too.

The characters board the both the Non-Stop Narrated History Trolley and the Hop-On/Hop-Off option.

Old Savannah tours are my very favorite. I love the characters at certain stops that give a narrations about that stop. It is also pet friendly. The Old Savannah Tours trolley and Old Town Trolley seem to stop at the same stops. It really depends on who your tour guide is. Regarding Lori’s point above, the tour stops are very similar.

The main difference is that Old Savannah Tours stops at the Owens-Thomas House and Slave Quarters, while Old Town Trolley goes to Davenport House instead.

Old Savannah Tours also goes to Telfair Square and near the Waving Girl Statue on River Street.

The guides on Old Savannah Tours don’t follow a written script, so you’ll get fresh information each time you hop on a trolley.

They hire personable guides who do their best to make the tours entertaining.

Another perk is that they usually have a separate driver and guide (vs. one driver who does double-duty driving and narrating).

We just did the Old Savannah Tours (white trolley) and I would highly recommend it. Our guide was amazing – very interesting and entertaining. I noticed walking around today and yesterday that it seems like the other tours (the green) just have a driver that is the guide. We had a separate driver and guide, and I think I prefer that. We noticed that our driver was very skilled, and it seems like it can be frustrating driving through the Historic District. FAQs About Old Savannah Tours

Do they have a free shuttle? Yes. Old Savannah Tours offers a free shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel within the Historic District. You can call to arrange for the shuttle after you’ve purchased your ticket.

Do they have free parking? Yes, they have two lots, and both are very close to the Savannah Visitor Center. The larger lot is located at their Welcome Center, which is at 215 W Boundary Street. The second lot is at a former bank building located at 255 Montgomery Street (directly across the street from the Savannah Visitor Center). Parking at both free lots is limited and on a first come/first serve basis. If they run out, park at the Savannah Visitor Center.

Are pets allowed? Yes. Small dogs under 25 pounds are welcome on the Old Savannah Tours trolleys.

Are the trolleys air-conditioned? They’re open-air, so you’ll feel a breeze, but no icy cold A/C.

Can you board anywhere? You can, but it’s best to board at Stop #1 (the Savannah Visitor Center). They’ll provide a sticker there that allows you to hop on and off at each of the stops.

NOTE: If you board elsewhere first, you won’t have a sticker and you’ll have to stay on the trolley until you reach the Savannah Visitor Center to obtain one. You can hop on and off anytime after that, but not before.

What time does the last tour of the day depart? The final tour of the day departs the Visitor Center at 4:30 pm, so you need to arrive at no later than 4:15 pm. If you’re out in the Historic District and want to “hop on” to ride back to the Visitor Center, you need to do so by 4:30 pm. After 5 pm, Old Savannah Tours uses their white trolleys for ghost tours.

Old Town Trolley Tours

Old Town Trolley Tours trolleys are tracked by GPS, so you can check their app to see when the next one is arriving.

To do this, download the “Old Town Trolley mAPP” on your device.

They’re the only trolley company that offers this feature, and it’s very handy!

You’ll know when to position yourself at the stop so you won’t miss a trolley and have to wait for the next one.

They also operate the largest number of trolleys in Savannah, so they usually have the shortest wait times.

If a particular stop is overly crowded, they can send a backup trolley out to lessen the wait time.

We walked everywhere on Day 1 and purchased a 2-day trolley pass for the next two days. It is nice to be able to rest and ride and just listen and then walk. We did the Hop-On/Hop-Off Old Town Trolley . Very enjoyable. Just remember that they go in numerical order for the stops. Plan accordingly. FAQs About Old Town Trolley Tours

Do they have a free shuttle? Yes. You can arrange for complimentary pick-up and drop-off at your hotel within the Historic District.

Do they have free parking? Yes. Guests can park for free in the Old Town Trolley lot , which is across the street from the Visitor Center (Stop #1). The address is 234 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. They offer additional parking a few blocks away at their Welcome Center, which is located at 214 W Boundary Street (Stop #15).

Are pets allowed? No — unless they’re service animals.

Do the 2-day passes have to be used two days in a row? No. If you purchase a 2-day pass, you do not need to use them on consecutive days.

When is the last tour of the day? During April, May, and June, the final tour of the day departs at 5 pm, which means the last drop-off at the Visitor Center is at 6:30 pm. The final drop-off is closer to 5 pm during the remaining portion of the year (August through March).

A Note on Parking….

The tour companies all offer free parking, but each lot only has a limited number of spaces. They’re usually on a first come/first serve basis.

All of the companies are located in the vicinity of the Savannah Visitor Center, which makes a great place for overflow parking.

The first hour of parking at the Visitor Center is free. It costs $1 per hour thereafter. Make note that you’ll need to have your car out by 8 p.m.

The Visitor Center has bathrooms, free WiFi, a snack center, and gift shop.

The Savannah History Museum is also located in the same building.

A Note on Tipping….

Tipping isn’t included in any of the tour prices, so it’s always nice to tip your driver at the end if they do a good job.

I’m impressed with how well they navigate the narrow streets of Savannah while dodging pedestrians AND keeping up with the historical narration. Kudos to them!

I would definitely include a tip if they make the extra effort of picking you up and dropping you off at your hotel.

I always enjoy going on hop-on hop-off tours when they are available. You get to see all the best places and then you can go back and spend longer in the places you liked the most. I never knew there were so many in Savannah.

Believe it or not, this is only a fraction of the trolley tours! There are others that go further out to attractions like Wormsloe and Bonaventure, and then there are quite a few haunted trolley tours, too. Trolleys are a big business in Savannah. lol

This was the one thing I didn’t do in Savannah! I love the comparison of all the different companies too!

Great tips and info on whether to choose a trolley tour and if so which one! I prefer walking as much as possible but sometimes it’s so nice to take a break and enjoy the sights by vehicle especially if short on time.

I’m a fan of walking, too — especially here in Savannah. It’s so much easier to notice all of the details when you’re on foot. During the heat of the summertime, though, the trolleys are a godsend.

I so much love the concept of hop on hop off buses. They actually let you see the whole city at your convenience and time.

Do i need to go to a specific place to buy on off tickets or can i purchase them at any stop?

Hi Joyce! I suggest buying them online in advance. If you want to purchase them in person, I only know how it works with Old Savannah Tours. With them, you need to purchase at one of their two ticketing locations (the 215 W Boundary Street location or the 255 Montgomery Street location). Hope that helps!

Savannah Public Transportation & Free Trolley

For visitors, Savannah is more of a walking than a driving city. Most of the places visitors want to go are close together, and the one-way system, congestion and difficulties parking make leaving your car behind or parking it outside the Historic District an attractive option ( more about parking in Savannah ).

Savannah’s public transport, including several free services especially targeted toward the needs of tourists, can take you downtown and around the Historic District’s key sights.

The city’s public transit network has two main components: the fare-free Downtown Transportation (dot) system and the ordinary Chatham Area Transit (CAT) bus services.

Fare-free shuttle buses and a ferry provide safe and convenient transportation around the Historic District and its most popular tourist areas. Savannah’s local bus system operates services in and around the wider city and to its outlying suburbs, some of which stop near popular tourist attractions.

Free Trolley Bus & Ferry

Savannah provides free transportation around the Historic District as an alternative to driving and parking in the city’s congested central areas.

There are three separate services, collectively known as “dot” (short for Downtown Transportation). These connect most of Savannah’s principal points of interest.

Two dot Express Shuttle services circuit downtown; the Savannah Belles Ferry connects River Street with Hutchinson Island. A map of the three routes, with popular attractions and parking garages marked, is available here .

All dot services are entirely free and ADA-accessible.

Express Shuttle

The dot Express Shuttle services run every day: Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm; Saturday, 10am-7pm; Sunday, 10am-6pm. Buses run every 10 minutes, with 20 stops on two separate routes: Downtown and Forsyth Park.

The Downtown route follows a loop through the upper Historic District, connecting with City Market and several downtown squares and other attractions, and passing within a couple of blocks of several downtown parking garages.

The Forsyth Park route takes a counter-clockwise route to either side of Bull Street, traveling up Drayton Street and down Whitaker Street between Johnson Square and Forsyth Park.

Riding The Free Shuttle

To ride, just find one of the purple and green “dot” signs (don’t confuse these with the regular CAT bus stop signs), and wait for your bus to arrive. Look out for a purple and green bus or a bus with a symbol reading “dot” on the front or side. Map showing all the stops

Ordinary paid city buses, operated by CAT, may also pass by. These will be clearly marked, with a sign on the front displaying the route number and name. Paid shuttle services may also pass; these will be painted in the livery of their respective companies.

Savannah Belles Ferry

This free passenger ferry connects River Street to the hotels and convention center on Hutchinson Island. The service operates between three landings, two on the city side of the Savannah River and one on Hutchinson Island.

From River Street, embark at either the City Hall Landing, behind City Hall at the head of Bull Street and next to the Hyatt Regency Hotel, or the Waving Girl Landing, near the Waving Girl (Florence Martus) statue in Morrell Park, close to the East Broad Street ramp.

The Savannah Belles Ferry runs every 20-30 minutes daily, 7am-10pm. Services to the Waving Girl Landing operate 8:20am-6pm. Travel time to cross the river is 10-20 minutes, depending on which landings you travel between. Pets, either on a leash or in a carrier, are welcome. See full service information and schedule.

The ferry’s name honors “Savannah’s Belles,” four women who influenced Savannah’s history: Susie King Taylor, Mary Musgrove, Juliette Gordon Low and Florence Martus.

Using Savannah’s Public Transportation

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) provides numerous paid services around Savannah and its suburbs. 100X Airport Express service to the airport.-->

Some services have been modified on account of the pandemic and may change at short notice, so re-check schedules and routes for your trip before setting out.

The easiest way to plan your trip on Savannah’s buses is with the Google Maps site. Enter your destination into the search bar, then click Directions, then click on the bus/train icon for suggested routes by public transportation.

Savannah Bus Fares, Tickets & Passes

Single-journey tickets :

– Tickets to ride all CAT buses can be purchased on board the vehicle.

– Try to have the correct fare, as drivers are not able to make change.

– A one-way ticket on Savannah’s ordinary public transit system costs $1.50. Transfers (valid for 90 minutes) are free, but should be requested before depositing your fare.

– Children under 41 inches tall ride for free, two per adult passenger.

– Seniors (65+), youth (6-18), veterans and passengers with a disability can pay a reduced fare of $0.75 with the relevant ID or Medicare card. ID is not required for passengers who use a wheelchair. For full details of the half-fare scheme, see here.

– The 100X Airport Express service costs $5 each way, or $8 for a return ticket.

Day passes can also be purchased on board the bus, for $3. A day pass allows unlimited travel on the day it is activated. You need to notify the driver you want a day pass rather than a single ticket before depositing your fare.

Weekly and monthly passes are also available, but these must be bought in advance. A 7-day pass, valid for seven days from the day of activation, is $14. A monthly pass, valid for 31 days from activation, is $50. The half-fare program also applies to these passes for eligible passengers.

Passes, and also books of 10 tickets, are sold at Savannah’s transportation hub, the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, at 610 West Oglethorpe Avenue (three blocks north of the Visitor Center on Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard, then left onto West Oglethorpe. The bus station, which is also used for Greyhound coach services, will be on your right). Hours for ticket sales are Monday-Friday, 7am-8pm.

Alternatively, you can purchase passes online to use in conjunction with the Transit Mobile Ticketing App, which can be downloaded onto your smartphone via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (more details here ).

All buses are wheelchair accessible.

If you are traveling with pets (except for service animals, and except on the Savannah Belles Ferry, which does allow animals on board), you will unfortunately have to use another method of getting around the city, as pets are not allowed on Savannah’s buses.

“My friend Stacy and I took a Free Savannah tour on the Martin Luther King holiday. Our guide was Daniel. We were hemming and hawing about whether to do this or take one of the trolley tours. At the last second we opted for this. Yes the free price tag is nice but we’re not above paying for a solid tour, so it was more about wanting a unique, up close and intimate experience with Savannah, our guide and the overall tour. And we got it. Daniel was awesome. He is whip smart, friendly, passionate and very patient and kind. We happened to have a small group on the afternoon tour, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have mattered if we had had 50 people. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone was following and encouraged questions. He’s also got a natural ability to explain history and culture and will have you laughing in the process. He knows so much about Savannah and seems to love it, which was infectious. “Daniel was our tour guide on a chilly Sunday morning in February, besides the discomfort from the cold, the tour experience was perfect. The 90 minute tour started in Johnson Square, just one of the 22 currently ‘operating’ squares in downtown Savannah. From there we walked to Write Square, then over to the Owen-Thomas House on Oglethorpe Square (although we didn’t tour the house, we talked about it’s significance). We then walked to Colonial Cemetery and over to see the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (you MUST go look inside, they don’t give you a chance on the tour, but just break off for a moment and take a look if you don’t plan on going back) and Lafayette Square. Next onto the Green-Meldrim House  on Madison Square and back to Chippewa Square to finish (where Forest Grump’s bench scenes were filmed). This tour is all walk and no play, you’ll be on tour the entire time, no chance to stop for a coffee halfway through (or more likely an alcoholic beverage), so make sure you’ve got something in hand pre-start. The tour is broken down into the history of Savannah (and layout), historical persons, architecture and influence. I learned the perfect amount on the tour and definitely felt like it was a great way to see the city and squares you’ll know Savannah is famous for. At the end of the tour, I didn’t feel pressured into tipping Daniel, he simply puts a bucket out and says he’d love to recommend further places for you or help you on your journey. “MUST DO IF YOU’RE STAYING IN SAVANNAH!!! We had nothing to do one morning so we decided to look up some cheap or free stuff to do nearby. We came upon this tour and were a bit skeptical. We decided to meet up where the at Johnson square(where the group was meeting up). At first we couldn’t find the tour, but we came across a guide that looked like the pictures. We asked him if this was the free tour, and he booked us a spot right away! We weren’t expecting much from this tour bc it was free, but we were very pleased! Joe our tour guide was incredibly funny and and knew a lot about Savannah. He kept the crowd laughing and answered any questions that we had. He took us around to many squares, and tried to keep us under the shade as much as possible. Even though this is free you should definitely tip your guide because they’re teaching you so much for free! Although it is a walking tour, it’s not 2 hours of non stop walking. Much of the tour takes place in the town’s squares, so you get a chance to sit for a few minutes here and there and get some shade under the oaks. The tour ends at Forsyth Park, which was perfect so you can take your time exploring and taking photos at the fountain. There are also nice restrooms and a Starbucks located at the park. We have just eaten lunch at the Ole Pink House which is a short walk to Johnson Square which is where the tour starts at. Our tour guide Daniel was very knowledgeable about Savannah and entertaining. “We did a walking tour with Daniel on our first day in Savannah and loved it. We had originally booked a 1pm tour but these all got cancelled due to the heat so after a couple of emails to sort things out we ended up with the late afternoon tour and even then it was still pretty hot. Good decision guys – it would have been unbearable at 1pm. Daniel took us on a ramble through the squares of Savannah and it gave us a great introduction to the city. He was knowledgeable and funny at the same time (although if you are reading this Daniel you DO need to work on your Scottish accent when talking about Lachlan McIntosh!). He gave us lots of information about the history, famous people, and landmarks of the city. It really helps that your guide knows and enjoys his stuff, especially in a beautiful city like Savannah … it served as a great launchpad for the next 4 days of our trip as we could use the info we got from Daniel to decide which sights we wanted to go back and see again in more detail ….. Why offer free savannah tours.

By offering the tours for no upfront cost, we eliminate your risk and make sure we have the pressure to perform. Free Savannah Tours business model would be of little value otherwise.

Do I have to make a reservation?

Reservations are not required, but keep in mind that the city of Savannah has a maximum of 30 people allowed on any walking tour. Certain times of the year are quite busy, so make a reservation if you would like to play it safe.

Can bad weather cancel our tour?

We operate in most weather conditions. However, a tour will be called off if we believe the weather conditions are unsafe to conduct it. We will let you know in advance, of course.

Will my kids like it?

Definitely. Our goal is to entertain everyone in the group, and that includes kids. We cater each tour specifically to the group, so if your kids are more interested in the legends of the city, let your guide know and he would be more than happy to adjust.

Do you offer private tours?

Are dogs welcome?

Sure, why not? Savannah is a very dog-friendly city. As long as your dog isn’t aggressive, or barks a lot for no reason, you are more than welcome to tag it along.

What does the tour cover?

We like to give a view of Savannah’s history, from the Colonial Times up to current day society. There’s a lot to see.

Where do we meet?

The Free Savannah Tours organize in Johnson Square. Look for the big central monument, you can’t miss it.

Is parking available?

If you are driving directly to the tour, make sure to factor in a couple extra minutes to find a spot. Parking garages in the area are plentiful and very inexpensive to use for the day.

Is it a walking-only tour?

Yes. By avoiding highly expensive overhead — such as a trolley or a bus — we retain the ability of offer the tours at no up front cost. Plus, it’s way more fun, active and healthy that way!

How hard is the walk?

You’ll walk for about an hour and a half, normal walking speed, with plenty of stops. Not difficult at all, even for older folks.

Is it handicap accessible?

Absolutely.

What if it gets hot?

It’s usually nice and warm. If it gets a little hot, we have shaded spots strategically spread all across the tour.

Are there toilets along the way?

Ghost tours, Civil Rights and Prohibition: Hop on St. Pete's new historic trolley tour

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Tourists and residents alike looking to learn the history of one of Florida's destination cities are in luck.

The St. Petersburg Museum of History teamed up with Star Trolley to offer historic trolley tours throughout St. Petersburg. The tour kicks off at the museum before taking guests on a two-hour ride that uncovers "stories and secrets that even lifelong residents may find surprising."

The tour will explore the beginning of the city, from its piers to its neighborhoods.

Other planned tours will include the tales of Prohibition and rum runners, Spaniards and Natives of West St. Pete, ghost tours, a Civil Rights tour and an architectural tour, all curated by museum staff.

Guests will also be able to view a rotating slide show of images from the museum's archives.

"St. Augustine, Key West, Savannah, all have historic tours, and now, thanks to our partnership with Star Trolley, St. Pete does as well," said Museum of History Executive Director Rui Farias. "These tours, while fun for us locals to hop on, will hopefully provide another reason for Florida visitors to explore St. Petersburg."

Tours will generally run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., but the museum said hours may vary for special tours.

Tickets cost $35 for museum members and $45 for non-members. Admission includes the guided tour as well as entrance to the museum.

Here’s what happened to the double-decker tour buses downtown, city sightseeing of san antonio closed shop in january.

SAN ANTONIO – Remember the bright, red double-decker tour buses downtown? Well, they have gone out of business, and a new company has taken their place.

David Strainge, founder of City Sightseeing of San Antonio, started the trolley company in 2010, according to the San Antonio Report . He opened the company as a franchise of the international tour bus operator based in Seville, Spain.

City Sightseeing closed shop in early January. Since the closure, Strainge has branched off into other business opportunities.

This has made way for Historic Tours of America to bring Old Town Trolley Tours to San Antonio.

“The timing could not have been more perfect. We have been looking to expand and the opportunity presented itself in this amazing city,” said Historic Tours of America’s CEO Chris Belland.

Old Town Trolley Tours, featuring orange and green-style busses, offers guests a 90-minute narrated tour with 14 stops throughout San Antonio.

The 12-mile tour ride includes stops at the Alamo Plaza, Japanese Tea Garden, San Antonio Zoo, Witte Museum, Botanical Gardens, The Pearl, San Antonio Museum of Art, Veteran’s Memorial Park, The Tobin Center, Buckhorn Saloon, E. Houston Street, Spanish Governor’s Palace, Historic Market Square, Tower of the Americas, Hemisfair, The Alamo, and the Crockett Hotel.

“San Antonio is a city with incredible history, attractions, sites, and fabulous people which is what we look for when going into a city,” said Belland.

Old Town Trolley Tours also offers a ‘Hometown Pass’ to Bexar County residents, granting free access when bringing an adult paying guest, according to a press release.

In addition to San Antonio, the release mentioned Old Town Trolley Tours also operates in Key West, Boston, Washington, Savannah, St. Augustine, San Diego, and Nashville.
