Scootours® Cape Town is the perfect way to explore the beautiful City of Cape Town with its breathtaking views in a fun and active way.

The tour starts where we meet at the Table Mountain Kloofnek Parking area. There is plenty of secure parking and the tour ends back here. After the guests are welcomed by our guides, we hop in our bus and get shuttled to Signal Hill for the 1st Downhill Run!  On each tour guests will do 2 Scootour Downhill Runs

1st Downhill Run – Signal Hill to Bo Kaap

On arrival at Signal Hill guests are issued with helmets and gloves and they get a safety briefing where they are instructed on how to operate their Monster Mountain® Scooters.

After the safety briefing they follow the guide down a jeep track all the way into Bo Kaap.  On the way down guests will have breathtaking views of:

• Table Mountain
• Cape Town City Centre
• Cape Town Harbour
• Bo Kaap – they will also be able to see 6 mosques

After completing the 1st run guests are picked up in Bo Kaap and shuttled to Table Mountain for the 2nd run.

2nd Downhill Run – Table Mountain to Oranjezight

After the shuttle up to Table Mountain, guests are dropped off at Dead Man’s Tree. Here guests will enjoy breathtaking views of Cape Town and they will have time to take some pictures. Then the fun begins again as they freewheel down a jeep track all the way down the mountain, through Deer Park into Oranjezicht.

Guests will have views of the following from a different angle:

• Lions’ head
• Signal Hill
• Cape Town Stadium
• The Waterfront
• Various points of interest in the Mother City.

After reaching the bottom of the run guests are shuttled back to the top and in the vehicle they get a chance to view pictures of the tour they just did – these were captured by the guide and driver and are for sale after the tour.

Scootours’s newest location in the Stellenbosch countryside has Monster Mountain Scooters, purpose-built tracks, archery, vine bike tours and mountain biking trails. You get to cascade through vineyards and over small wooden bridges, all while admiring views of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains and Simonsberg Mountain. Plus, Scootours Banhoek takes walk-ins .

RACE THROUGH A BUSH TUNNEL IN STELLENBOSCH 

Scootours’s second Stellenbosch location, Middelvlei Wine Farm, is 850m of pure dirt-road complete with meandering berms, a bush tunnel and bumpy rollers. Don’t worry, you’re allowed a few practice runs to help you get the hang of it. The experience is around one hour. 

You can extend your visit and book an archery session or a braai lunch with all the trimmings, like chops, boerewors, braaibroodjies, Ouma Annie's pumpkin fritters and other South African favourites. THE BEAUTY OF THE FRANSCHHOEK VALLEY 

The Scootours Franschhoek route is easy to navigate, even for kids. During the tour you’ll freewheel through vineyards and down the gentle slopes of Chamonix Wine Farm, with views of the surrounding mountains and wine farms.

Rates: R770pp (driver), R385pp (passenger). Specials: Kids party (R450pp for drivers; R150pp for passengers) and midweek team-building (R650 pp for a minimum of 6 riders). 

TWO OFF-ROAD TRACKS IN THE CITY 

It’s between an hour-and-a-half to two-hour tour, during which you glide down two different off-road tracks. The first one is a 5km Jeep track that runs down the side of Signal Hill and takes you all the way to the colourful Bo-Kaap. And on the way you’ll have gorgeous views of Table Mountain, the city centre, Cape Town harbour and mosques in the Bo-Kaap. 

Then you’ll move onto the second track, which starts on the lower slopes of Table Mountain at Dead Man’s Tree. Speed down the mountain, through Deer Park, and into Oranjezicht. You’ll see views of Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and Cape Town Stadium.

BOOK A SCOOTOURS EXPERIENCE 

All riders must be at least 1.1 metres tall and weigh less than 120kg. Wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes and take a warm jacket. An Off-Road Scooter Adventure on The Slopes of Table Mountain

Enjoy spectacular scenery and exhilarating downhill rides on a nonmotorised scooter.

Freewheel your way along the slopes of Table Mountain on an exhilarating scooter ride. The spectacular scenery is all the more invigorating during an off-road adventure , especially one where you get to feel the rush of adrenaline as you whizz down hills and slopes – on a nonmotorised scooter. The two-wheelers are extremely stable (they’re used to navigate the slopes of the Swiss Alps during summer, after all), making for a family-friendly (and eco-friendly) experience. Kids will love them, but that’s not to say adults won’t get a kick out of the experience either.

Good to know

• Equipment, and a guide, are included in the package.
• You need to be 10 years or older to ride your own scooter, and four years to join as a passenger.
• A minimum of four people is required to make a booking.
• Each tour lasts two hours.

Scooter tours on Table Mountain

You may have travelled the paths of Table Mountain many times before, but have you ever done it on a freewheeler? With these tours, you’ll get to do so. The tour begins at the Lower Parking Area off Kloof Nek Road, from where you are transported to the top of Signal Hill for your first downhill run. You’re picked up in Bo Kaap and taken to Dead Man’s Tree on Table Mountain, the starting point for a downhill ride all the way to Deer Park. The driver will then take you back to the Lower Parking Area.

You will get the opportunity to freewheel down two different off road tracks. The first track runs down the side of Signal Hill all the way into Bo Kaap. This 5 km track will take you on an adventurous off road track down the side of Signal Hill into Bo Kaap and continues as you are transported to Table Mountain for your final run down the lower slopes off this world-famous landmark!

Essential info

Description A Unique way to experience Cape Town’s Table Mountain. This 5 km track will take you on an adventurous off road track down the side of Signal Hill into Bo Kaap then continues as you are transported to Table Mountain for your final run down a single track off this world famous landmark.

You start at Table Mountain’s Lower Parking Area just off Kloof Nek Road. This is at the Table Mountain Info Office and there is plenty of safe parking.

After guests are kitted out with their helmets and gloves they get transported to the top of Signal Hill for their 1st Downhill Run. The trip is fun and informative as the guides will keep you entertained with info about the area.

You get picked up in Bo Kaap by the driver and then we head for the main run down Table Mountain from Dead Man’s tree all the way down to Deer Park where the driver will pick you up again and bring you back to the starting point at Lower Table Mountain.

Scooters are non motorised making this eco friendly. These Swiss designed scooters are used in the Alps during the summer season on the ski slopes when the snow is gone. All trips are guided by professional qualified guides.

Arrangements Duration: Approx 2 hours. When: Tuesdays to Sundays at 10am, 12:30 pm and3 pm. Weather permitting. Where: We start at the LOWER TABLE MOUNTAIN PARKING AREA & INFO OFFICE just off Kloof Nek Road. Weather: We don't do trips in heavy rain. What to Wear: Closed shoes and a wind breaker for the chill. Things to Bring: Closed shoes Jacket - the weather changes quickly. Cash to buy your pictures after the trip - R 250. Guests or Spectators: You have to be able to ride a Bicycle to participate in this activity.

Inclusions and Exclusions Inclusions: 2 Runs (1 x down Signal Hill and 1 x down Table Mountain’s side), guide, equipment & water. Exclusions: All items of a personal nature, snacks, souvenirs, transport, personal insurance, photos (R250) etc.

Notes Children older than 10 can drive their own Scooter. Children between 4 and 9 can go as Passengers. For Bookings of 4 people and less or more than 9 people please email us.

Booking conditions General/Standard cancellation policy

• Cancellation outside 14 days prior to tour date: 100% credit as Travel Credit / 95% refund
• Cancellation 14-7 days prior to tour date: 100% credit as Travel Credit / 80% refund
• Cancellation 3-6 days prior to tour date: 50% refund
• Cancellation 2 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “no show”: No refund / Full fee charged

* The general / standard cancellation policy applies to all products excluding specific Packages, Kruger Tours and Private/Custom made tours.

* All transaction / transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (client).

* Refunds and Travel Credit values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations. Refunds are usually made back to the original source of payment method.

* The Travel Credit option may be selected up till 7 days prior to your start / departure date. The travel credit should be used within a 24 month period from the issue date unless stated otherwise. Where a travel credit option is selected, payment in FULL must be made to Cape Xtreme if the booking was made through a Travel Agent. Please be advised that a travel credit is selected instead of a cancellation charge and will result in no refunds being issued. After the travel credit has been selected no further alterations can be made / no refunds will be issued should you make any changes again.

1. Your cancellation rights

Cancelling your fomo vouchers.

2.1 You have a statutory right to cancel your purchase of the Voucher unless otherwise stated (non-refundable vouchers), within 7 working days after the day you receive your voucher via email (the "Voucher Cancellation Period") provided your cancellation reason is not one of the below:

• Not requesting availability from the merchant using the contact details provided on the product page on FOMO prior to buying the voucher, resulting in you not being able to use your voucher after purchase.
• Cancelling your voucher after a booking has been made and falling outside of the merchant cancellation period needed for a refund.(Each merchant cancellation policy will then be in effect, and merchant will have to approve the refund)

If your cancellation reason is one of the above, you will still be entitled to 1 of the 3 options listed below.

• Credit for the same amount to be used on FOMO
• Extension period of your voucher for a further 3 months
• Refund less 20% handling admin processing fee

Should you request a refund within the 7 working day period, FOMO will issue you with a refund, However, if you redeem your Voucher during the Voucher Cancellation Period, you expressly request the services to begin being provided to you, and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel the purchase of the Voucher. Since FOMO is not responsible for the supply or provision of the Merchant Offering, once your Voucher is redeemed you are not entitled to a refund (in whole or in part).
