Boracay is one of the first major tourist destinations in the Philippines that reopened. But although the country’s most popular beach is now ready to welcome visitors, you still have to make sure you meet all the requirements.

If you are planning to book a trip to Boracay or Kalibo, here are the documents you need to possess to be allowed to travel.

Note: Because travel policies these days change frequently and quickly, make sure to double check the government restrictions and regulations of both the national government and the local government prior to your bookings.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

For Tourists or Leisure Travelers

For Vaccinated Tourists: Proof of Vaccination. This can be any of the following: – VaxcertPH certification – locally-issued vaccination card with contact details of vaccination center – International Certification of Vaccination and Prophylaxis (ICV) from WHO – vaccination card or certificate issued abroad
For Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Tourists: Negative RT-PCR test. Must be taken within 72 hours prior to departure. RT-PCR tests must be done by any of the accredited laboratories. You can find the list of accredited labs here .
For Children 12 years old or under: Certificate of Undertaking. Here’s a template.
Confirmed hotel or resort booking on the island. Make sure that you book a hotel with Certificate of Authority to Operate/Provisional Certificate of Authority to Operate from the Department of Tourism. You can check the list of hotels here: LIST OF OPERATIONAL HOTELS IN BORACAY .
Roundtrip transportation details
Online Health Declaration Card (OHDC). Fill it out online. Go to Tourist Boracay website . Accomplish the form. Take a screenshot of the confirmation page because you’ll need it.
Tourist QR Code and copy of your Health Declaration Card. These will be sent to your e-mail if the processing is successful. Print or keep a digital copy of your Tourist QR Code and keep it with you at all times when you are in the island.

You might also want to get an S-Pass Travel Coordination Permit (TCP) . It is NOT a requirement when getting a Tourist QR Code but airports or airlines might ask for this so the provincial government of Aklan recommends securing one for easier, hassle-free journey. Travel Options Going to Antique, Iloilo, Aklan, and Capiz

Commuter’s guide to antique.

Known as the province “Where Mountain Meet’s The Sea”, Antique is now more accessible by Land, Air, and Sea. Tourists can travel based on their budget, time, convenience, safety, and priorities.

How to reach Antique

As of May 2020, there are 2 seaports in Antique the Lipata Port in Culasi and San Jose Port in San Jose. Lipata Port has commercial trips going to Caluya and Semirara from Culasi. The province also planned to launch Culasi-Caluya-Bulalacao (Mindoro) trip last March 20, 2020, but it was not push through because of COVID19.

You can also commute going to nearby provinces if you prefer to travel by sea. If you are from Manila, Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, and Negros Tourists can also travel by Iloilo Port (Iloilo City) and if you are from Luzon you can also choose via Caticlan Port (Aklan).

Traveling via RORO buses is one of the major choices of travelers going in and out of Antique. You can travel from Pasay, Alabang, Cubao, Batangas, Turbina terminals going to Antique. If you have more baggage to carry during your trip, traveling by bus terminal to terminal is a great help.

1. Antique Airport

Antique has its own domestic airport officially known as Evelio Javier Airport. Be careful in booking, the Antique Airport in San Jose, Antique has IATA Code: EUQ and not IATA Code: SGI of San Jose Airport in San Jose, Mindoro. There are 3 flights a week via Philippine Airlines.

2. Iloilo International Airport

There are a lot of flights coming to Iloilo from different cities and provinces in the Philippines. It has also direct flights from Hong Kong and Singapore.

3. Caticlan Port

If you have plans to explore the Northern Antique you can onboard Caticlan bound flights. There are several flights coming from Manila, Clark, Cebu, and several international flights. There are van and buses from Caticlan. Fares are ranging from Ph250 to Ph300 per pax going to San Jose, Antique, and around Ph120+ going to Pandan, Sebaste, Culasi, Tibiao. It takes 4 to 5 hours traveling from Caticlan to San Jose, Antique while it takes around 1 to 2 hours going to the Pandan.

From the airport, you can rent a tricycle going to the Ceres bus and van terminals. There are van and buses from Kalibo. Upgrade their seats. They’ve got 20-year-old business class seats in their 777s. The food choices. On the way to Manila and the way back I thought we’re lousy compared to other carriers. The staff was fantastic and very happy.

Continual rescheduling of flights, inflight entertainment system did not work, staff not pleasant to interact with.

So far pal express is much better than Cebu pacific in terms of customers service and in flight crew. And on time departure and arrival . Especially if you're taking airbus 320 plane . But the small aircraft like bombardier . It usually delayed .

We did booked shorter layovers but flights changed and layovers are too long good thing Philippine Airlines give us a hotel in manila but here Vancouver to Calgary too long layovers and there is enough sets to wait closer to air canada and they will open 4am.we were here 1 am .our flights schedule for air canada 8:10am.we paid expensive flights but not happy of lay over Vancouver to Calgary.

Biz class is way below what other airlines offer. The food was mediocre at best. A WiFi was intermittent and movies were dated. Honestly the best part of the trip was that the Mabuhay lounge in SFO was closed and they gave us pass to Air France lounge. My advise, fill up there before boarding plane.

The seats are too cramped, there is barely enough room to shift weight. This could be easy to endure in a one-hour flight, but not more than that. The crew did not clean up shortly after meals. The tray table remained open because of the meal and ate up what is left of the little seating space. The crew were just idling by for 45 minutes before they collected the trash. The airline did not inspect carry-on luggage. Most of the passengers brought too many bags, too large and/or over the weight limit. This undermines safety and discourages those who pay extra for checked bags just to comply with the airline regulations. If the airline is not inspecting carry-on luggage, why should I pay more just to check in some bags?

Terrible, I will never ever ever attempt to fly on Cebu Pacific. I understand that it’s a cheap flight option but they take cheap experience to the next level.

Cebu Pac has a habit of changing boarding gates. They do a lot of remote boarding. So just be attentive to the announcements, especially if it's near your boarding time.

Have been flying air asia for over 4 years from Manila to Tokyo and kansai as well as several local flights from Manila to Bacolod and Cebu.. 3 planes were down for maintenance and caused havoc.. need to invest in new fleet or seriously clean and upgrade the existing fleet. Will not be flying anymore until fixed. Several options out there now to choose from as air asia prices have skyrocketed.. no point in using them anymore . Severally upset passenger here. They can’t even manage the queuing of Zones for boarding as it’s a crab fest free for all now. No discipline and let the passengers in line to board just run into any lane possible.. and priority luggage?? Forget it I’ve paid for it for the last 6 flights and never got it first.. air asia has turned into a expensive joke.. use Cebu pacific or zip air now..

The food was ordinary, this could be improved. Sleeping was comfortable enough for several hours sleep. The layover time in Manila Mabuhay lounge for 17 hours was awful. Surely I could have been given a flight to Perth within that time on another airline. At 74 years of age I find that far too long and stressful and will probably not travel with Philippine Airlines again for that reason. The food offering on board and in the lounge was also a little underwhelming. The crew were wonderful and the flight comfort was good also.

I paid for an aisle seat on my booking but for my return flight back in the US I was ina middle seat. I didnt realize this until i was already on the plane.

The flight itself was ok. However, the plane has 2 bathrooms for about 200 people. After the meal service there was a line between 10-15 people deep standing in the aisle waiting to use the bathroom. This went on for over an hour. The airlines tell us safety is their priority and to keep seatbelts on whenever on the plane but they allow a line of people to stand in the aisle for over an hour waiting for a bathroom. Absurd and unacceptable.
