GolfMagic tests out the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 golf shoes.

Worn by none other than Rory McIlroy , the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3s have some serious Tour pedigree behind them. 

Nike's flagship spiked model, the Victory Tour 3, is designed to deliver best-in-class performance for players who desire unparalleled traction and stability to swing hard at the ball. 

Featuring a supple full-grain leather construction,  Zoom Air unit,  moulded 3D collar and Tour Flex Pro SoftSpikes, these shoes are packed full of performance-driven tech. 

To see if they could deliver out on the course, we took them for a spin at London Golf Club. 

Let's get into it. 

Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 Golf Shoes Looks:

Traditional is not typically a word we would associate with Nike golf shoes. The brand is renowned for producing golf footwear that pushes the boundaries of performance and technology, with the resulting designs usually being on the more modern end of the spectrum.

With that being said, the Victory Tour 3 has a very classic design. The traditional silhouette features a single Nike tick, with the remainder of the upper left clean.

The resulting overall appearance is one of the best on the market in 2024, and it's no wonder McIlroy opts to wear them, as they go well with almost any outfit. 

We tested the shoes in the Pure Platinum/White/Aquarius Blue/Obsidian scheme, but they are also available in two solid black and white colour options. 

While the silhouette is undoubtedly more classic than the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour or the Ai Jordan 1 Low, it does feature some lovely modern touches that ground it in the modern game. 

For example, the subtle air branding on the midsole and the 3D moulded collar provide contemporary details that tie the whole design together beautifully. 

All in all, we really can't fault these shoes in terms of looks. They are a joy to look at, and as you will soon find out, they felt pretty special, too.

Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 Golf Shoes Comfort and Performance: 

Slipping the shoes on for the first time, they instantly feel snug. I wouldn't say I have particularly wide feet, but I did notice that around the toe box, there was fairly limited room for movement. 

While this was initially a cause for concern, after playing 18 holes, we didn't notice any discomfort, which we believe is mainly down to the supple nature of the leather. 

While we wouldn't say these shoes are quite as comfortable as more trainer-like designs such as the ECCO LT1, they still provide ample cushioning and energy return that will deliver long-term comfort.

The shoes feature a 3D moulded collar and a strap that runs over the top of your foot. These two details combine to provide a very solid and locked-in feel. 

There is a reason McIlroy is able to hurtle himself at the ball: He feels strong and secure in his footing. That is certainly the sensation we experienced when out on the course. 

The shoe's construction provides excellent lateral stability, and the arch support on offer stopped us from getting too flat on our feet. This, in turn, prevented us from feeling any foot fatigue after 18 holes. 

In terms of traction, Nike has relied on the best in the business.

99 out of the last 100 major champions have relied on Softspikes for traction, and they've done so for a reason: the brand is the best in the business when it comes to golf spikes.

The spikes, located at seven points on the sole, are long and deep, providing excellent traction even in tough conditions.

If you are reading this from the UK, you will know how much rain we have had recently. When we took these shoes out for a test drive, it was positively sodden underfoot.

Despite that, we were able to swing freely without any loss of stability or traction. 

It's also worth noting that these shoes are fully waterproof, and despite the quagmire like conditions we encountered, we didn't feel a single drop of moisture on our feet.

Walking up and down hills, we also found that these shoes offer top-notch flexibility. Having hit our fair share of wayward tee shots, we were faced with some rather uneven lies, but the shoes held firm and delivered a stable base just when we needed it most.

Pro golfers know what they're doing when it comes to golf equipment, and we can completely understand why McIlroy trusts these shoes to deliver five-star performance and comfort on the course.

All in all, the Victory Tour 3 Golf shoes are some of the best golf shoes we've ever seen from Nike, and they are right at the top of the list for the best spiked golf shoes we have tested so far in 2024. 

Should you buy the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 Golf Shoes?

If you're looking to purchase a new pair of waterproof spiked golf shoes that not only look great but also feel and perform beautifully, then there aren't many better options on the market right now than the Victory Tour 3s. 

Featuring classic Nike styling, premium materials and a well-thought-out design, these shoes tick a lot of boxes. 

At £209, these shoes certainly aren't cheap, but thanks to their quality and versatility, you certainly get what you pay for.

The Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 is the golf shoe worn by Rory McIlroy . Rory is one of the best golfers in the world, but is this one of the best golf shoes ? Let’s find out…

The Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 is Nike’s premium golf shoe and comes with an RRP of £209.99 in the UK or $190 in the US, which seems a bit harsh on UK golfers and puts it above comparable shoes from the likes of adidas , FootJoy , and Under Armour . But, if you shop around, you’ll be able to pick them up for quite a bit less than that RRP, so don’t let that put you off.

What do you get for your money with the Air Zoom Victory Tour 3?

There’s a full-grain leather upper which feels really soft and supple. There’s a two-year waterproof warranty, and it passed my scientific test of pouring a bottle of water on my foot while wearing them, not allowing any moisture through to my sock.

There’s an internal strap that sits underneath the laces, providing a secure locked-in fit.

There’s plenty of foam underfoot, giving a very soft and cushioned feeling, while the ankle area also feels well-padded and soft. There’s a ‘Zoom Air’ unit under the foot which is meant to “increase energy return”, but I couldn’t feel it and wouldn’t have known it was there if I hadn’t been looking for it.

The sole features seven Softspikes of two different types: four ‘Silver Tornado’ in the heel and outer side plus three ‘Tour Flex Pro’ in the forefoot. I certainly couldn’t feel the difference in the two spikes but the overall grip is faultless.

I found they fit true to size and were really comfortable right out of the box, with no rubbing on their first outing, which was 18 holes at a long course.

Despite being a sporty-looking shoe, they’re not super lightweight, weighing in at 416g in a UK size 9.5.

Looks wise, I think it’s a good combination of sporty and smart. It doesn’t necessarily scream premium, just because it’s pretty plain and simple, but I do like that understated style personally. The sole is the thing that stands out most from an aesthetic point of view.

The sole is very rigid, but that helps it feel secure and the amount of cushioning still provides plenty of comfort.

There are nine colors available, 10 if you include a limited-edition NRG model with gold and silver embellishments, which costs a little bit more.

Alternative options

If you like the look of these but want a cheaper option, there’s the Nike Victory Pro 3, but that doesn’t look as cool, lacks a lot of the tech in the Victory Tour 3, and only has a one-year waterproof warranty. Check out our list of the best Nike golf shoes .

Fit/Comfort

With the subtle improvements to the previous Victory 2, the new 3 is one of the best golf shoes on the market. In every department the performance is excellent - comfort, grip, protection, looks - Nike has absolutely nailed it here.

An outstanding shoe with Tour-proven performance, the NEXT% from Nike looks great, felt very comfortable throughout testing, and they deliver in just about every way you would want from  top of the range golf shoes.

There is a reason Nike is one of the most popular brands in golf and sponsors some of the biggest names. From Nike shoes to apparel, they always bring out some top quality equipment that is used by the likes of Rory McIlroy , Brooks Koepka , Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda. 

Nike, time and time again, have shown themselves to be one of the best brands, not only in golf, but across multiple sports and for everyday life too and, in this piece, we will be focusing on the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 and Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour NEXT% shoes, used by McIlroy and Koepka respectively, to see which is best. 

Both are great in their own right but, when it comes to deciding which is right for you, it can be a difficult decision, that is why we are here to go through what makes these shoes great in this head-to-head. 

Starting with the shoes worn by McIlroy, the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3s build on the success of the Victory Tour 2s. The new design looks different in several subtle ways and the new full-grain leather upper has a supple feel and sophisticated look. 

Along with the upper, the swoosh and midsole sections look slightly different and, overall, we think the shoe seems more refined. It looks like more of a traditionally sporty golf shoe that will suit a wide range of ages, whereas the previous model was perhaps better suited to younger audiences. 

What's more, we were also fans of the colorways, in particular the the fade of the shoe from blue to green that we tested, which we felt looked excellent. If it isn't to your tastes, there are other colors to choose from.

Moving onto the Infinity Tour NEXT%, which offers a sporty and modern aesthetic that has more of a sneaker-style look than a traditional golf shoe, which we liked. The black and white colorway we tested still maintains that kind of understated finish which makes it usable at most golf courses, but with a nice pop of turquoise color on the inside and on the swoosh underneath the shoe to add a little flair..

There are loads of other colors to choose from, which is great, and there are even special edition designs available to buy, such as the  yellow pair Brooks Koepka was wearing at The Masters.  

This is one of the most important aspects when it comes to choosing a golf shoe. You are going to be spending hours at a time in them, shifting your feet and walking miles. If you do not get the right fit and comfort then you are going to destroy your feet.

In testing, we felt that the Nike Victory Tour 3 are one of the  most comfortable shoes  we have tested. The previous 2 was right up there in this regard but, for us, the 3 has taken it to a whole new level. This is thanks to elements like the extra thickness of padding around the ankle, which felt soft and comfortable.

Additionally, Nike has added an internal strap on the inside of the shoe which contours to your foot. This is different to its predecessor, with the change only elevating the quality of this footwear. What was a particular standout is that, out of the box, they didn't require much wearing-in before tackling the course and Nike have also stitched a Zoom Air unit directly to the upper which delivered an exceptional feel. The last point to mention is that the foam towards the heel felt very cushiony, almost bouncy when walking on the course. 

Moving on to the Infinity Tour NEXT% and, straight out of the box, they feel outstandingly well made. Every part of the shoe feels premium, sturdy and well put together. This continued when we got them on the golf course, as these were some of the most comfortable golf shoes we have tested. 

The material on the inside feels soft around and on top of the foot, and we liked the extra bit of padding around the ankle. To put it simply, walking in these shoes was effortless and comfortable. 

A final point worth noting is that the shoe also has two Air Zoom units which are not fully enclosed. Nike claims they give better energy return when pushing through the swing and to aid every step but, we must admit, that it was hard to gauge the impact of these. Importantly, though, they did feel good after a long day of testing, so the technology must have been doing something right.

With both these amazing Nike shoes performing excellently so far, how do they perform on the course? Currently, there isn't much to separate these two shoes, so maybe performance will.

Well, firstly, the grip and stability of the Victory Tour 3 shoes was top-notch. The shoes have a new seven-way cleat system with two different types of spikes and the new Softspikes Tour Flex Pro is fitted in three forefoot areas. Along with the cleat system, there are Silver tornado spikes in the heel and other side of the forefoot area. The result of this? Well, we tested these shoes in different conditions and the traction remained very good. During one round we played on a variety of ground conditions, which included brown, burnt-out ground, softer ground thanks to a deluge of rain and a variety of different lies and stances. Each time, the grip and stability were never compromised. 

As for the Infinity Tour NEXT% shoes, they are breathable and lightweight so walking 36 holes was a breeze and, despite the lightness, we didn’t feel like grip or stability was reduced. The four spikes are large enough to manage traction throughout the swing, although we do think the outsole itself could offer more traction points. That being said, we tested the shoes from a variety of stances and conditions, because of the changing weather, and they responded well, but the Victory Tour 3 does edge it slightly here.

Waterproofing is a really important feature for a golf shoe so that is where we finish our head-to-head with these two shoes. There can be times when you rely on the fact that the manufacturer tells you that the shoes are waterproof but, in some instances, that can be false and you find your feet getting drenched. 

We can confirm though that both of these shoes from Nike are fully waterproof and that there was no leaking from either. Certainly, both rank highly on our best waterproof golf shoes  list and, ultimately, it will come down what material you prefer your golf shoes to be made up of.

Tour Itinerary

With the 1000-year history, Russia has had a rich portfolio of conflicts, battles, wars. On this Soviet tour, we'll talk about various wars that happened in Russia, focusing on WWII.

Mother Russia has undergone a lot in its long life. Since ancient times, Russian rulers have taken nearly all political power into their own hands. By the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian oppositional movement was deadly set for the total destruction of the ever-lasting tsarist regime. All of Russia got involved in the bloody revolution of 1917 in an effort to abolish the current state of the government and gain freedom for the ordinary people.

You will learn about the every-day life of the Soviet people during the bloody Second World War with the Nazis, including the legendary Battle for Moscow, the 900-day siege of Leningrad, the hardships that local citizens went through, the consequences of the war and the scars it left on the Soviet people, as well as why the Cold War happened and what was the fundamental reason.

Our mission on the Soviet Russia tour is to find out

• - How much this 1917 revolution cost the people;
• - Whether they actually got the freedom they wanted and was it worth it;
• - What happened over the next 74 years;
• - Who were the main political communist leaders of the Soviet Union;
• - Were Russians happy and satisfied with the Soviet Union?

Our tour itinerary will lie in most Soviet areas of Moscow, which are quite spread throughout the city, as very few of them are left. You can choose how much you are ready to live this Soviet life on a 5, 7 or 10-hour tour. Depending on the duration of the tour, you will see part or all of the places below:

If you want to extend the tour, you are welcome to do so by paying $20/extra hour in cash on the tour.

Time stands still in Red Square. The Red Square is the heart of Moscow (and whole Russia). Saint Basil's Cathedral will make your mouth drop. If it is from May-October, have a cocktail on the outside terrace and simply people watch! The massive square offers so much to enjoy.

Revolution Square Metro Station

Rub the Soviet dog's nose for good luck and admire the 76 bronze sculptures, devoted to the passionate, strong-willed and patriotic Soviet people.

Poklonnaya Hill

The highest point in Moscow, where Napoleon waited for keys of the city.

All-Russian Exhibition Center (VVC)

With its giant arch, amazing fountain, and huge pavilions of different Soviet Republics.

Victory Park Metro Station

The deepest undeground station in Moscow and one of the deepest in the world.

Victory Park

For an open-air museum as big as 135 ha (1 350 000 square meters), Victory park sure doens't lack diversity. The park is dedicated to the Russian victory in WWII, and was laid out in 1995 in commemoration of 50-year anniversary of victory.

Stalin had planned for its construction already in 1941, being sure of victory from the very start of the war.

Greeting Hill

The highest points in Moscow (172 meters), where Napoleon waited for keys of Moscow in vain.

Triumphal Arch

Stunning monument consisting of 12 cast-iron columns, each 12 meters high, and weighing 16 tons. Built to mark Russia's victory over Napoleon in 1812.

Museum of the Great Patriotic War

In the city that is as much about wars as it is about victories, there is one essential stopover - the Museum of the Great Patriotic War (that's what WWII is called in Russia). Must-do for those wishing to understand Russia's past and look at the whole war from the different perspective - Russian.

The museum is not for the faint-hearted. Here you can see films about the partisan experience, the scenes that will haunt you forever (no subtitles, but they are not necessary).

We'll have a glance at Russian life of the XX century in the  Museum of Contemporary History , which houses bits of everything from Russian history of XXth century: from English club to a storage of Stalin's presents.

Memorial to the Holocaust,

Unleash your inner spy. Highly recommended  Bunker-42 ,  Cold War Museum , explore the place where Khrushchev lived during the Cuban Crisis. Go down 18 floors to a gigantic bunker under Moscow that was designed to withstand a nuclear attack. Watch a short film about the severity of the Cold War. If you lived through the Cold War, you will hardly believe it is possible that you are in Bunker 42!

Wander through  Sparrow Hills  and climb up to the highest observation deck of Moscow with stunning views of all seven Stalin’s skyscrapers, including  Moscow State University .
