Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent facilities. Very knowledgeable guides. Exceptional food. Loved every moment of our stay there and would love to return someday.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and our ranger/tracker team (Phillip and Jeremy) were also amazing. Great food, beautiful location and the Big 5... we look forward to visiting Amakhosi again soon!

All the facilities and staff were amazing, super friendly and went the extra mile to help. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they went all out with a champagne surprise in the middle of the Bush and they handmade her an amazing chocolate cake too!

Such a beautiful lodge with breathtaking surroundings. Staff are welcoming and friendly and the food is to die for! The spa is lovely, those ladies sure know how to make you relax. The drive to the lodge is pleasant, with lots of game and birdlife to be seen. Highly recommended. A big thank you to everyone for making our visit so enjoyable yesterday.

An absolute stunning lodge with exceptional service. The game viewing was phenomenal! The food out of this world. The servjce from all the staff was exceptional. Thank you Kyle (Fritz) and Zakhele for the wonderful time you guys were awesome. Can' t wait to visit again.

We had the most outstanding experience at Amakhosi Safari Lodge. Every single staff member went out of their way to personally make us feel welcome and comfortable. The River Suite was a piece of paradise, I loved the attention to detail. The food was outstanding. We had the most life-changing experience on our game drives... Our Ranger, Ralden, and our Tracker, Mandla, were an exceptional team... our highlight was when they spotted a mother cheetah on the hunt! They predicted her behavior SO accurately that they managed to set us up to witness the most breath-taking event of the cheetah taking down an Kudu... and to top it off, she called her 5 cubs to feast. An experience we will never forget! We will DEFINITELY be back!

The size of the compound is perfect. Is big enough that you can drive around for hours but small enough that you can actually see the big 5 pretty fast. The team is amazing. It is a friendly and professional. And the food. My goodness the food!!!!!! Anyway. I would love to some back and also can recommend to everyone. Try to get Kayl and Zakile as rangers for you!!!

My second time back at Amakhozi... this resort definitely a 5star... but should actually be a 10star Resort.. Amakhozi has become my family they have really shown us love care and made such beautiful memories together. I will definitely be going back with family and friends. Philip and Jeremy are just so amazing and make every cent spent so worth it.. Ethan is a darling absolutely charming and a big thank you to Marilyn Strydom for making our stay beautiful and the amazing staff... love u guys😘😘😘😘😘😘😘

A 5 star rated lodge and it doesn't disappoint. It's small with 8 villas. Each villa has a living room, bedroom, toilet room, shower, and soaking tub. There is also an outdoor shower and hammock with each villa. The food was traditional South African/Zulu food and was great. They have high tea each afternoon. Very safe place as their is an electric fence to keep large animals out. Not uncommon to see Warthogs grazing on the lodge grounds. It is a very peaceful place. There are early morning and late afternoon safaris, which give you the afternoon to enjoy one of the swimming pools or get a spa treatment.

Incredible weekend spent at Amakhosi. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and accommodating and our ranger Pierre and spotter Mandla were fantastic in finding us game and spotting over 50 new birds for us!! We will be back.

Amakhosi is a hidden gem! The food, rooms, service, game drives and all the staff are just amazing! You will not find a better Big 5 experience anywhere else. Big thank you to our ranger Ralden and tracker Mandla for making our drives the best I have ever experienced, they made sure that we saw as much as possible and their knowledge is impeccable! I cannot wait to go back! Thank you all at Amakhosi for the best getaway!

Family friendly: Children are welcome, we have two rivers suites that can sleep 2 children under the age of 12 sharing with adults. However children under the age of 8 are not allowed on game vehicles unless a private vehicle is pre-booked at an additional cost.

The St. Lucia Wetlands and Sodwana Bay are a mere 2.5 hours away from the lodge and are well worth incorporating into any itinerary. Situated past Pongola on the road to Nongoma, where King Goodwill Zwelethini has his palaces, Amakhosi Safari Lodge gives majestic new meaning to a royal bush experience and welcome. The six luxurious river suites capture nature through ceiling-high windows and private viewing decks across the river. Each suite accommodates two adults with an air conditioned lounge, bedroom, bathroom with a separate shower and toilet, safe, bath robes, fully stocked mini-bar and a tea and coffee tray. This is Big 5 territory and what you don’t view from your deck, expert guides invariably will deliver on dawn and dusk game drives. Conversation around the fire at night is of close encounters with lionesses and playful cubs, sand-bathing elephants and streaking cheetah. But equally engrossing are the adventurous guide’s encounters with smaller creatures, from delicate bark spiders to glossy dung beetles; and anecdotes about the trees and medicinal plants of the reserve.
