It's a 5-hour trip, so just sit back and relax, take a nap, and take in the sights as you head to the southernmost point in Florida. When you arrive in Key West, part of this package includes a sightseeing trip on a roomy glass-bottom boat. You'll go to the dock and be welcomed aboard by the captain and crew. This boat is roomy with plenty of seats and even has an air-conditioned cabin.  But, it's the state-of-the-art glass bottom that will get your attention.  Your experienced captain will go along over the top of America's only living coral reef.  You'll have the opportunity to see hundreds of species of marine life such as tropical fish, turtles, sharks, coral, sponges, lobsters, crabs, and more.  Your knowledgeable crew will also tell you about what you are seeing as well as explain the need for this healthy ecosystem.  They will keep you entertained as you marvel at the beauty of the sea. Your time on the boat will be approximately 2 hours so you can also enjoy the view of Key West from the ocean. Once you have finished your cruise on the glass bottom boat, you will have about 4 hours to look around Key West. As you can imagine, Key West has lots to do, maybe you'll want to visit the Hemingway Home, one of the area's first major celebrities. See the famous Mallory Square, which is a gathering place for locals. Visit some of the many museums such as the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, the Oldest House Museum, or Ripley's Believe It or Not. Go check out the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory or maybe the Key West Botanical Gardens. Browse through East Martello Fort and see Robert the Doll. Take a moment of silence at the African American Memorial or the AIDS Memorial. Check out some of the famous and infamous restaurants and bars such as Sloppy Joe's, Hog's Breath Saloon, and Rick's Bar, or maybe try some treats at Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shop! Explore the Key West Lighthouse or the Key West Yacht Club at Garrison Bight Marina. Or relax on the beach - both Smather's and Higg's are popular. Note that entrance fees to the attractions are not included. When this great day comes to an end, you'll head back to your transportation for the scenic ride back.  If you have the chance to experience Key West, why wouldn't you?  Be sure to have your camera or phone ready, you're going to see some amazing sights!

  • holyheadcarl 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing day- Long waisted bus ride. Booked for Everglades only trip and pick up time and wait was fine. We boarded an empty double decker bus and 2 hours later after around 20 pick ups we were on our way! There was little instruction when we arrived and had around 30 minutes for Air boat ride which was OK but nothing special. We didn’t see any Alligators or any Wildlife of interest which is no fault of organisers. After 40 minute ride we had to stand in a queue for Alligator show. Another 30minute wait before entering. The show was fine. We could not stomach another 3 hour plus ride back to our destination and alighted at 5th Street for a welcome drink (hardly had time at Everglades)at a bar and Uber back. Disappointing day in all. Read more Written April 21, 2024
  • 274fannys 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Some much needed sunshine Our host was wonderful, expect I have a few things that could have made the trip a lot or comfortable and things they can improve upon for the next travel experience: we were told to arrive 15 earlier than 7am and we had to wait over 45 minutes. A message from the host advising they would be late would have been nice given how early we had to get up to meet. I also expressed the bus temperature was freezing and I had the host to turn down the AC at one of the stops. She said she would but once again, the temperature throughout was at a max and made it very uncomfortable for all of us travelling, having to find extra clothes to cover yourself with. I would love it if our host would be kind enough to ask paying passengers next time whether the bus temperature is comfortable enough. Read more Written April 21, 2024

The guy who sells tours was nice when was trying to sell, when I asked to help me to confirm if this is the place he ignored me. They take everyone’s picture before you go on the boat (company policy) to sell it later. We refused to take a picture and they were mean. • 725resam 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Not as good as other Miami cruises! Cruise time was moved up by a half hour yet did not leave until close to the original time and was much shorter than 90 minutes. Seating is awkward and not comfortable having to twist around to see. Boat is shabby. Major shake down for tips asking for $100 tip. Have been on much better similar cruises and mistakenly booked this one. Read more Written April 18, 2024

  • 978ja 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing and confusing. This boat tour was disappointing and bizarre: confusing meet up location and time, poor communication, and shorter than advertised. -their confirmation email says to meet 45 minutes early. We went to the advertised meet up location (which is hard to find), and no one was there. When we returned closer to the time of our tour, about 20 minutes early, the aqua tour employee told us there was a problem, and that the tour would actually be running a half hour later than advertised. They had everyone (about 50 people who were waiting for the tour) wait in the sun. -when we did finally start moving along to get on the bus, they made us take a photo before boarding. We attempted to decline multiple times, but the employees told us it was mandatory. I understand most tours want to take photos to try to sell to their customers later, but I’ve never been to an attraction/tour that was so emphatic about it being ‘mandatory.’ - this tour was advertised as “millionaire row sightseeing cruise,” but they had us ride in a pirate ship. I’m guessing this was a back up boat since our tour was running late, but they didn’t communicate any of this. -actual tour/narration was OK. Tour guide/DJ gave limited info. It was only about an hour long, though it was advertised as being 90 minutes. I would not recommend! Read more Written April 13, 2024
  • scamnitz 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great trip in the Keys We booked the snorkeling tour at the reef but it was too windy to go. Instead we got to visit an island where we could swim, snorkel, kayak or just hang out on the beach. We found lots of cool shells and saw lots of huge hermit crabs. The boat ride was fun on the tiki boat. Cody was great making sure everyone had a drink or snack. Captain Candace was awesome. Read more Written April 12, 2024

  • 2018love4life 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles BUYER BEWARE: Boat and bus are 30 min away from each other...no return ride to pickup location Cruise + Miami City Bus Tour (AKA) Miami Skyline Cruise of South Beach & Millionaire Homes Sat April 6 SOLD BY VIATOR (TRIP ADVISOR) OWNED BY Attractions4US LLC (Tour Operator) BUYER BEWARE: When you purchase this package, (we paid $159.98 for 2 people) the cruise is at 401 Biscayne Blvd Miami and the Double decker bus is 30 minutes away at 305 Lincoln Rd in South Beach. The bus tour started at 3pm and took multiple detours off the route due to traffic. The tour ended up taking about 3 hours. We had to pay $52 to park the rental car for 4 hours, then we had to take a $35 taxi back to the starting location because they told us we had to exit the bus. They did not disclose that we would not get a ride back to the pickup spot. Since we (me and most of the guests) refused to tip, the guide called us “cheap” as we exited the bus. The folks who were supposed to go on the cruise, their guide was nowhere to be found so I’m unsure what happened to them. Total cost $247 and an entire day lost. Read more Written April 8, 2024

  • 800pelini 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles SCAM!! Do NOT buy it!!!! This is a scam. do NOT buy it!!! I purchased the package of 90 mins Celebrity cruise with Hop on Bus Tour. Die to storm our flight cancelled twice therefore I had to ask to move our reservation to the evening. They charged me 15 $ extra for each person to move my reservation to later hour. However they said it has to be a shorter boat ride which is 1 hour only and no guide through the trip. I accepted since we have very limited time in Miami. We rushed to catch the boat with my children, paid 65& for the cap to be on time. When we arrived to the given location, there was no boat and no agent. We were the only one waiting. The boat came late, then took our reservation details but did not take us in since we were the only passenger. It was a water taxi and it is obvious that it is not their main job to make a tour. I tried to get help from the contact person from the company via whatsapp. I explained the situation, asked if they could switch us to a boat that will operate. The person who is called Indira could not help although she was very capable when she was charging extra 15$/person on the phone earlier. I called tripadviser costumer service and explained the situation. They tookquite a long time while I was paying for my internation number. They started the process of refund for the original amount which is not included the extra I paid for moving our boat reservation. Then the company emailed me saying that I am lying and the boat left when we were on it. I will post here the pictures I took if I can. Read more Written April 5, 2024

Best time to go on a road trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West

Florida is nicknamed the “Sunshine State”, which says a lot. You will be in for a treat if you visit in summer and visit the beaches. That being said, you can experience heat and humidity during these warmer months.

Summer is a peak season for the whole of Florida, but also a time when temperatures are soaring (the average at Key West in August is between 81 and 91 degrees Fahrenheit).

Keep an eye out for the hurricane season between August and November. November will bring you temperatures between 72 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thanksgiving season is another peak season for Miami and Florida Keys, so if you are looking for a festive celebration, this is the time. However, keep in mind that hotel prices will be high and the beaches crowded.

Winters in southeast Florida and in the Keys are mild at 75-80 degrees, which brings a lot of domestic tourists here. Although you cannot go swimming unless you have the proper equipment, you can still enjoy the coastal lifestyle without worrying about staying too long under the sun.

Another plus is you will be able to participate in the City of Key West Hometown Holiday Parade if you visit in December.
