Emma Bunton announces tour including Spice Girls hits, Christmas classics and some extra special guests

Boasting three huge Christmas Number 1 singles as part of the Spice Girls (2 Become 1, Too Much and Goodbye, of course), Emma Bunton certainly knows her way around the holiday season.

And, just as we've taken our last sip of Aperol Spritz and announced 2022's Songs of the Summer , Emma's only gone and announced a Christmas tour of the UK.

This December, Emma will take a brand-new show on the road (alongside some very special guests) as she treats fans to some Spice Girls smashes and Christmas classics.

This all comes as the Spice Girls tease plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic Spiceworld album later this year. And, according to Melanie C, the group's 1997 film Spiceworld The Movie might be included in said celebrations.

Speaking to OK! magazine recently, Mel teased: " Let's just say we're talking to Universal, the label that produced our first movie.

"You need to stay tuned to hear more. There will be big celebrations in the coming months, I can say that."

Tickets for Emma Bunton's Christmas Party will be available on pre-sale from Thursday September 8 at 10am.

Spice Girl Emma Bunton announces massive Christmas concert in Manchester

She'll perform festive favourites, Spice Girls classics and her own songs, with special guests.

Emma Bunton, she of Spice Girls fame, is going to be hosting a Christmas concert in Manchester this year.

The popstar-turned-presenter first hosted a one-of Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019.

‘Baby Spice’ is now taking the festive extravaganza on the road with a tour of the UK this winter.

Emma will be performing songs from her own back catalogue, as well as classic Spice Girls tracks and popular festive hits.

She’ll also bring some special guests on the road with her, who will be announced soon.

Over the course of her career, Emma Bunton has sold more than 85 million records as part of the Spice Girls.

She returned to solo music in 2019, hot off the back of the Spice Girls reunion tour, with album My Happy Place .

She’s had seven UK top 10 hits and two UK top 10 albums as a solo artist.

Emma Bunton & Friends will be at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Monday 12 December.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 9 September at www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk .

Co-op Live has announced one of the biggest nights yet and their first-ever sporting event after confirming that the UFC is coming to the new state-of-the-art arena.

While the shiny new music and live entertainment stadium suffered an unfortunate setback earlier this week, with both of Peter Kay’s gigs being postponed following power supply issues discovered during their test event, the confirmation of UFC 304 at Co-op Live is a big plus for the opening month.

Rumours had been circling that a huge sporting event might be coming to the UK’s newest indoor arena, one of the biggest of its kind in Europe, but this being just the fourth time the UFC has washed up on British shores, it’s a huge coup for their debut year.

Announced on Wednesday, 24 April, the global MMA phenomenon and multi-billion-dollar promotion company will be bringing their 304th fight night to Manchester on 27 July and you can roll your eyes at the pun all you like, but it’s going to be a knockout.

As the UFC has said in an official press release , “UK MMA is currently experiencing what is being described as an unheralded golden era, with stars such as welterweight champion Leon Edwards, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, and local favourites, including Paddy Pimblett, Molly McCann, Muhammad Mokaev, Michael Page and Arnold Allen, with more rising through the ranks.”

That being said, there isn’t a better moment for the brand to capitalise on the growing fight audience here in the UK and 0161, specifically, with the aforementioned Aspinall having created a real appetite for the discipline in and around the city.

The Greater Manchester region has always been home to iconic fighters regardless, be it boxing or otherwise; Ricky Hatton, Tyson Fury, Amir Khan, as well adopted Manc MMA legend Michael Bisping, whose pedigree helped bring UFC to Manchester and the AO Arena for the first time back in 2016.

Nearly a decade later the promotion is now part of Co-op Live’s maiden calendar and set to be the first of many sporting events they hope to host – a plan bolstered by their partnership with neighbours, Manchester City .

“I’m so excited to get back to Manchester, and no better time than this summer,” said UFC President and CEO Dana White. “We have two champions from the UK and fans have been dying for a UFC PPV event. So here we come to the largest indoor arena in the UK. See you soon, England!”

As for Co-op Live , Executive Director and General Manager Gary Roden   added: “With the north of England home to so many of the world’s leading fighters, we are primed and ready for UFC and its knowledgeable, passionate fanbase.

“Offering a state-of-the-art platform for globally broadcast events, Co-op Live is extremely proud to welcome entertainment of this scale and calibre as the future home of combat sports in the UK.”

Co-op members get early access to presale tickets at 10am on 5 June and general admission goes live via Ticketmaster at the same time on Friday, 7 June. UFC Fight Club members will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets early on the Wednesday from 9am BST.

It’s official… Chester Zoo has been named to best zoo in the UK for 2024.

Everyone in and around Greater Manchester and the North West is familiar with just how brilliant the UK’s biggest charity zoo is and all the work it contributes towards conservation and protecting endangered species all across the world – but now, it’s got itself a respectable new title to prove it, and it’s all thanks to tens of thousands of positive TripAdvisor reviews.

The world’s biggest travel guidance platform has named Chester Zoo as the best-rated zoo to visit in the UK this year, with more than 11,000 ‘Excellent’ ratings.

Based on millions of online reviews, the new ranking puts the beloved Cheshire -based attraction ahead of the country’s other zoos after earning consistently good feedback from its visitors.

According to Chester Zoo, the “wonderful news” means that, as a conservation charity , it can continue its work with countries across the world to “help all animals survive and thrive”, as well as provide expert care to the 37,000 animals who currently call the zoo their home.

The zoo has also thanked its visitors for all their continued support each year, as this allows to “keep making a difference”.

“With every admission ticket, membership, animal adoption, or experience purchased, you are contributing to our mission of preventing extinction,” Chester Zoo said in a statement.

Speaking on the coveted new TripAdvisor title, Jamie Chirston, who is the CEO at Chester Zoo, says he’s “over the moon to be named the best zoo in the UK”, adding in a statement that: “It’s an incredible achievement and especially pleasing given it’s based on thousands upon thousands of genuine reviews and opinions.

“It’s a real seal of approval from our visitors, and testament to every single one of our dedicated, hardworking, and talented staff that make our conservation zoo the wonderful place it is.

“Every time someone walks through our gates, not only do they enjoy all kinds of wildlife experiences and a have great day out, but they’re also contributing to the vital conservation work we carry out here and around the world, and that’s why, as a not-for-profit conservation zoo, this top TripAdvisor ranking means such an awful lot to us.

“It’s confirmation that we’re getting things right for our visitors, [which is] especially important as, together, we’re preventing extinction and making a real difference for wildlife.”

The UK’s best zoo isn’t the only title Chester Zoo has claimed this month either, as TripAdvisor has also listed it as the eighth-best zoo or aquarium to visit in the whole of Europe too.

Following the great success of her special one-off Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019, Emma Bunton will be embarking on a festive tour this December which includes an appearance next week at Brighton Dome Concert Hall on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

Emma Bunton’s Christmas Show will see her performing songs from her own back catalogue as well as some classic Spice Girls tracks and all your favourite festive hits. There will be no support act as Emma and friends will be performing two sets! Emma Bunton: The Christmas Show 2022: ‘A glitzy triumph’ 

With her sparkly vocal beauty, distinctive tone and faultless control, baby spice is truly an underrated singer, writes attitude's jamie tabberer.

“It’s CHRISTMAS!” screams Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, hoarsely: a punishing noise that echoes around London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. He’s a tuneful wailer – remember ‘I Predict a Riot’? – but the climactic bellow of Slade’s ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’, arguably, calls for ugliness. And such a sound was never going to come from Ricky’s duet partner, Baby Spice, whose honeyed vocals were a revelation at this week’s Emma Bunton: The Christmas Show 2022. She’s such an underrated singer!

Not that Em’s a belter, of course. Backing singers sometimes overpower, but never overwhelm her during this highly entertaining gig. Naturally, when Sporty Spice Melanie C stops by for a surprise rendition of the Spice Girls ’ ‘Stop’ – which absolutely brings the house down, by the way, such is the punch of the SG’s incredible string of singles – she out-sings Emma, too. But that was always how the band structured things.

I used to think Emma was the whipped cream on top of a Spice Girls harmony. I now realise, she’s more like the secret sauce. What she lacks in volume and impromptu runs she makes up for in sparkly vocal beauty, distinctive tone and faultless control. She’s reliable and professional. She glides effortlessly through a slew of glossy Christmas standards, from ‘Sleigh Ride’ to ‘Jingle Bell Rock’. Her silky, playful take on ‘Santa Baby’ has Attitude imagining her voice blended with Kylie Minogue’s. 

But the festive schtick comes at a cost. She rattles through her biggest solo hits in medley form: an astonishing hedging of bets that bemuses at least one hardcore fan… Attitude would have traded a ‘Rockin’ Robin’ or two for full versions of gritty, guitar-laden anthems ‘What I Am’ and ‘What Took You So Long?’ (For a while there, in the late 90s/early 00s, she really went against the grain, didn’t she?) At least the perfect pop song that is ‘Maybe’ gets a fuller airing, complex choreo and all. (Full marks to Emma’s troupe of Royal Ballet-ready dancers, whose routines are very ambitious for such a brief tour.)

An extended Spice Girls medley is also a touch hurried. I would have been fascinated to hear her comprehensive take on ‘Viva Forever’. But this makes sense, as it allows Baby to avoid her bandmates’ verses, for the most part. It also gives the show a sprightly, engaging pace. That said, she takes her time to find new dimensions in the quietly profound ‘2 Become 1’. In an (I think) unprecedented move, she performs it with her husband Jade Jones, of 90s boy band Damage. She’s previously sang it with Robbie Williams and Will Young, which we could take or leave. This, thought, felt like witnessing something truly special.

All in all, she kills it. She had to. Upping the ante of what might otherwise have been a feather-light evening is the mild backlash last week to Emma cancelling, with 90 minutes’ notice, a show in York due to an undisclosed illness. Tonight, you get the sense she has an equilibrium to restore, which gives the show unexpected depth and tension. As such, Emma is all steely determination. Although her version of game face is emotional accessibility – she’s sometimes visibly teary after a rough few days – punctuated with sugary sweet smiles, comfortable audience repartee and an irresistible arsenal of songs.

Baby Spice is back! Christmas is Emma Bunton’s favourite time of year so what better way to celebrate than with a tour filled with tinsel, mulled wine and Christmas anthems.

Following the great success of her special one - off Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019, Emma Bunton will be embarking on a festive tour this December called Emma Bunton & Friends. From duets with partner Jade and magical performance with musical legends, Emma joins us to tell us all.

Spice Girl Emma Bunton announces Christmas Manchester gig

Tickets go on sale for Emma Bunton & Friends this week

Emma Bunton is bringing a Christmas gig to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall this year and has promised a collection of her solo singles and Spice Girl hits.

The former Spice Girl performed a one-off Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019 and has now taken the show on tour to Manchester, Brighton, York, Birmingham and London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The Manchester gig will take place at Bridgewater Hall and tickets go on sale on Friday 9 September at 10am on Ticketmaster here.

Emma says the Christmas-themed show will include hits from her backlog that includes seven UK top 10 hits, as well as classic Spice Girls tracks. She will also invite unnamed guest performers to the gig to perform a medley of songs during the event.

Emma Bunton came to fame with 1990s girl group Spice Girls alongside Mel Chisholm, Mel Brown, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham. The girl group, famed for their 'Spice' nicknames, are one of the biggest bands of all time and sold over 85 million records. They regrouped for a sell out reunion tour in 2019.

Emma Bunton Is Going On A Christmas Tour With Some Special Friends

The former Spice Girl has announced a series of UK dates where she’ll sing some festive songs as well as her solo work. Joined by some special friends too, Emma Bunton’s Christmas tour is the perfect lead-up to Christmas treat.

Baby Spice is touring the UK in a series of shows promised to spice up your life. The singer, who returned to the music scene after a 13-year break in 2019, will be putting on a show full of her own songs, Spice Girl hits and some Christmas songs too.

Emma took to social media to spread Christmas cheer, saying that Christmas was her favourite time of year, so why not share it with her fans?

The tour has promised some special guests along the way, but none of them has been announced yet. Fans have been hoping for a little Spice Girls reunion as well as some other famous faces.

One of which asked if Lulu would be joining Emma. Though there’s nothing to support that the music legend will be sharing the stage with Baby Spice, it’s something that we would love to see. Others were desperate for the singer to do some international dates too.

Monday 12 December – Manchester, Bridgewater Hall Tuesday 13 December – Brighton. Brighton Dome Friday 16 December – York, York Barbican Saturday 17 December – Birmingham, Symphony Hall Monday 19 December – London, Theatre Royal Drury Lane

A Spice Girls Reunion

After a smash-hit tour in 2019, NME report that the girls are in tasks to reunite again — this time with Victoria Beckham. The last time all 5 performed together was almost 15 years ago in 2008. We definitely think it’s time to get the band back together.

Last year, Mel C shared her hopes with Howie Mandel that the Spice Girls would reunite again and that they are constantly talking about it.

“We’re talking about it. We are talking about it constantly. It was always the plan. We did these amazing stadium shows two years ago. It was the best thing we’ve ever done. The creativity was so incredible. We had the best time.”

If you can’t wait to see all of the Spice Girls on stage again, then Emma Bunton will keep you entertained in the meantime!

Emma has been advised by her doctor that she is unable to perform. Emma is personally devastated and hopes very much to see you all again another time. All ticket holders will be contacted via email.

Following the great success of her special one-off Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019, Emma Bunton will be embarking on a festive tour this December culminating at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane.  

Emma Bunton’s Christmas Party will see her performing songs from her own back catalogue as well as some classic Spice Girls tracks and all your favourite festive hits.  

To date Emma has sold over 85 million records as a member of the all-conquering Spice Girls, the most successful female pop group of all time. Following the incredible Spice Girls reunion tour in 2019, Emma returned to music as a solo artist with album My Happy Place, her first new music in 13 years. As a solo artist she has had seven UK Top 10 hits and two UK Top 10 albums to date. 

Christmas is Emma’s favourite time of year, so what better way to celebrate?
