Group of people visiting Pura Dalem Bratan Temple in Bali, Indonesia

From beaches to temples—Bali’s got it all

To many people, Bali is considered paradise, but to us, paradise is more than sand and turquoise water. We discovered that this magical island is filled with many treasures waiting to be explored, like the thousands of temples that face the sea, the warmth of the Balinese people, and the unspoiled rugged landscape dotted with volcanoes and lush jungles. If you’re looking to add a little more spirit to your next beach vacation, then let yourself be seduced by this exotic island.

All G Adventures tours share a common love of adventure, but life-altering experiences come in a variety of flavors. Here are some of the Travel Styles we offer:

"Comfort": “Adventure travel” doesn’t have to mean “roughing it.” Comfort tours offer the genuine experiences you want with more extras, frills, and upgrades.

"Classic": An unbeatable mix of uncommon experiences, insider access, cultural contact, and all the must-sees and -dos, Classic is adventure perfected.

"Active":  Why just see the world when you could bike, hike, kayak, and multi-sport it? Why, indeed. Active tours keep travellers who like to move on the move.

"Private Groups":  Got a group of eight or more and want to keep the fun to yourselves? Try a Private Group tour. You pick the who and where, we’ll handle the what.

Vera Hutasoit was my CEO, and was truly a fantastic guide. Very sweet person, energetic, and extremely knowledgable. Her presence improved the efficiency and depth of the overall experience a great deal. I hope you will consider promoting her in the near future – she deserves it! Aside from that, my only critical feedback would be the amount of in-transit time required to complete this trip in 9 days. We had several multiple-hour car trips and two eight-hour train rides. Due to this, there was very little 'down time' left to explore or simply relax in each destination city. Obviously, Java is a big island, and 9 days doesn't do it justice – I knew what I signed up for and I'd still recommend the experience to a friend. VERA IS THE BEST :)

Classic Bali Tour

Classic Bali

Well, I've been travelling to SE Asia every year for the last 8 years now, however never having never arranged a trip with Tourradar/GAdventures before, I was a little apprehensive, knowing nothing about my fellow travellers or how things would turn out. I needn't have worried, this was by far the best adventure holiday I've ever taken! We were all ages and from a variety of countries and everything just fitted together in such an easy way. I have to say that this was not least due to the incredible Barry, our fabulous guide from Lombok. He was just The Best!! Barry just made everything go so smoothly, in such a wonderfully happy easygoing way. He made everyone feel that they were free to make choices and enabled those choices with seamless effort. His smile never left his face, and his knowledge, knowhow and video skills were second to none. He was just amazing! Thank you Barry!

I had a private boat tour today starting at 8 AM expecting to avoid the dolphins being harassed by many boats as during the sunrise boat tour. But when we got to the area where the dolphins were, there were many boats. I refused to join in the crowding of dolphins so we looked elsewhere but failed to find dolphins. I am here 2 more days. Does anyone know when the tours typically end so I can see dolphins not being crowded? 6 years ago I was able to watch dolphins with no other boats around. Is that no longer possible?

7 replies to this topic

Back from second boat tour, started at 9 am hoping to avoid lots of boats but there were 15-30 boats during tour. Appears boat captains are lazy unlike in the past and just want to go where all the other boats are. No reason to pay for private boat only to be annoyed by loud people and boat fumes and watch boats chase dolphins. I read they are proposing some regulation, hopefully will do that and actually enforce it. I feel horrible about contributing my money twice now to unethical exploitation of dolphins. Yes I saw dolphins briefly at times but appeared they were trying to get away from the boats. Additionally both boat captains were quite rude. First one ended tour half hour early for unknown reasons. Second one was unbelievably rude, didn't understand my expectations for a private tour and didn't care to have me enjoy the tour.

I think I will stick to being pleasantly surprised when dolphins show up by boats for their pleasure.

' class=

@2, I am glad someone benefited from my post and bad experiences here. Appears dolphins are harassed all day long for tourism bucks. So so sad...

Thanks Nature. I did this in 1999 and there were about 5 other boats max.

I was considering going again this year, but I will now give Lovina a miss. There are plenty more places to spend our time.

We did the dolphin 'trap' in 2018, so many boats chasing them but at least our boatman just propped and we only got a glimpse from a distance. The far nicer thing we found was just being out on the water experiencing the beautiful sunrise. Would not do the dolphins again, far too touristry.

I imagine it is only a matter of time before the dolphins flee the area...or die from the stress.

Cruelty to animals in Bali is questionable and should not be supported or tolerated.
