A wild storm nearly two centuries ago unearthed this seaside Neolithic village of stone, dating to between 3200 and 2200 BC.

Scottish Highlands

The best time to catch the Highlands heather in full bloom is late August into September. But you can taste it year round in heather ale and Scottish honey—the bees often rely on heather pollen for their food source.

The Old Course at St Andrews is the very first golf course in the world, dating back to the 1400s.

Spring: During the springtime, you’ll find fewer crowds in places like Orkney and the Isle of Skye, which can give you more opportunities to take the time to appreciate your surroundings.

Summer: August is the perfect time to visit Edinburgh, as the Military Tattoo and Edinburgh Festival both take place then. It’s crowded, but the city is alive with many cultural events. And generally, it’s good weather (fingers crossed for not too much rain!). Places like Orkney and the Isle of Skye can be crowded, too, but longer days give you more time to explore.

Fall: After mid-September, there are fewer crowds at Orkney and the Isle of Skye, making your visit all the more relaxing.

End your trip with 3 nights in London - the Capital city of England. Use your included Oyster Card to navigate the city with your local guide and see the sights of Whitehall, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the exterior of Westminster Abbey. Your tour will end in the iconic Trafalger Square from where you can explore the city's West End. Included in your stay is a ticket for the Tower of London and the local guide will escort you there in the morning. The Tower of London is a self guided attraction so you can spend as little or as much time as you wish in there. The rest of the day is yours to explore the vibrant and eclectic east End of London before making your own way back to your hotel. Your other option is to end your vacation with an additional night in Edinburgh. Guided You’re accompanied by a Tour Manager throughout the extension, except for any time that’s set aside for independent discovery.

• Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
