Third Man Records  is excited to announce  Vault Package #54 ,  Jack White Live: The Supply Chain Issues Tour ,  which includes three colored LPs -- one blue, one black, and one white -- featuring live recordings from White's current tour (including the full set from July's intimate performance at London's Union Chapel), as well as a glitter blue 7" featuring a demo version of "A Tip From You To Me" from this year's stellar album  Entering Heaven Alive . Find the full track listing below.  Sign up  is open now through  October 31  at midnight CST.

So far, 2022 has been a relatively eventful year for Jack White. He’s released the albums Fear Of The Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive , each one with its sound and vibe unique from the other, proposed (and immediately got married) onstage in Detroit to kick off his tour, played over sixty shows across three continents to hundreds of thousands of satiated fans… and he’s not even done yet.

To celebrate the explosive run of shows, having received some of the most rave live reviews Jack has ever seen in his 20+ year career onstage, Third Man Records’ 54th Vault package is dedicated to the best of the best, the 3xLP Selections From The Supply Chain Issues Tour.

Disc one (pressed on blue vinyl) features the best live recordings of songs from the bombastic, fiery album Fear Of The Dawn. While the studio takes are taut and muscular and finessed, these live renditions of songs like “Taking Me Back” and “The White Raven” expand beyond that idea, where they are able to luxuriously conjure musical themes and chase avant garde tangents and ultimately deliver versions that land light years beyond their initial counterparts.

Disc two (pressed on white vinyl) features Jack White’s show at Union Chapel in London in its entirety. An intimate, emotional concert performance dedicated to his son Henry Lee with songs dedicated both to Jack’s wife, Olivia Jean, and his daughter, Scarlett, along with first-ever live performances of the tracks “Help Me Along” and “I’ve Got You Surrounded (With My Love)” and “Taking Me Back (Gently)” the whole show was nothing short of spellbinding and the sentimental feeling in the room that night is clearly evident in the grooves of this record.

Disc three (pressed on black vinyl)   is the wildcard. With the dynamic band of Dominic Davis on bass, Daru Jones on drums, and Quincy McCrary on keyboards, Jack has been, more so than ever before, truly improvising compelling cover songs and brand new, off-the-top-of-his-head compositions. With covers ranging from the public domain “Wayfaring Stranger” through the Stooges’ “I Wanna Be Your Dog” to the D.O.C’s “It’s Funky Enough” and the Monks “I Hate You” across a gamut of blues essentials like “I’m A Man” and “Cool Drink Of Water Blues” and “Born Under A Bad Sign”...it’s a true treat to hear the band snatch these moments out of the unrehearsed ether. Beyond that…true original songs like “That’s How I’m Feeling Right Now” and “Yes, I’m So Sick” and “When I’m Home You Can Feel The Tension” are legitimately ecstatic, memorable explorations that belie the fact that they are 100% spontaneous compositions, written on the spot during the live shows.

And just for the hell of it, we’re including a 7” single of “A Tip From You To Me” complete with the previously unreleased solo acoustic demo of the song on the b-side…pressed on sparkly blue vinyl. As should be expected, the cover art fits into the ten-years-running tradition of Jack White album single images that fit in neatly with each other…now totaling SIXTEEN entries into the ever-expanding, ever-impressive tableau.

Jack White Maps Out Supply Chain Issues Tour in Support of 2022 LPs

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

Jack White will embark on a U.S. tour in 2022 — his first headlining trek in four years — in support of his upcoming LPs Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive .

The first leg of the Supply Chain Issues Tour kicks off April 8 and 9 with a pair of intimate record release parties at White’s hometown Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit to celebrate the arrival of Fear of the Dawn .

The tour will then take the stage at a variety of different-sized venues, from smaller theaters like Washington, D.C’s the Anthem and Atlanta’s Tabernacle to arenas like Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, and amphitheaters and the High Water Fest in between.

The 32-date spring tour concludes June 11 in Broomfield, Colorado, at which point White will spend much of the summer touring in Europe before returning to the U.S. — following the July 22 release of Entering Heaven Alive — for an additional 11 shows in August. Jack White extends ‘Supply Chain Issues’ tour of the Americas

19 new dates between August and October have been added

Jack White

Jack White has added 19 new dates to his ‘Supply Chain Issues’ world tour , taking in both North and South America.

The new dates, announced today (June 21), will include a mix of headlining shows and festival appearances. The tour comes in support of White’s two studio albums for 2022 : ‘Fear Of The Dawn’ from April, and the forthcoming ‘Entering Heaven Alive’, which is set for release next month.

Cat Power will open for White on four of the new dates, while Californian band The Paranoyds will support at an additional three. A full list of the new dates can be seen below.

White will play two shows at London’s Apollo next week, performing on Monday June 27 and Tuesday 28. Island Of Love – who are the first London signing to White’s Third Man Records – will open the first show, while Yard Act will open the second. From there, White will begin a four-week tour of Europe, before performing at Japan’s Fuji Rock festival in late July.

The ‘Supply Chain Issues’ tour began earlier this year, and has included a variety of support acts – among them Be Your Own Pet , who reunited at White’s request for the first time in 14 years. Others have included  The Kills – featuring White’s Dead Weather bandmate Allison Mosshart – as well as Geese , Starcrawler and Men I Trust .

The tour began on April 8, the same day that White released ‘Fear Of The Dawn’. In a three-star review , NME said that the album “sets out on the road to rock redemption”.

“Maybe… the idea here [is] to gently illuminate the sonic possibilities in his music, rather than let the songs radiate on their own merits,” it read.

Jack White’s new ‘Supply Chain Issues’ tour dates are:

Third Man Records Announces New Jack White Live Album from Current Supply Chain Issues Tour

by Jacob Uitti September 12, 2022, 8:10 am

Third Man Records has announced a new Jack White live album, Vault Pkg. #54 – Jack White Live: The Supply Chain Issues Tour , which is set to drop later this year.

Videos by American Songwriter

The new package includes selections of live recordings from White’s current tour over three LPs, one of which is black, one blue, and one white.

Fans can sign up for the vault package HERE . The deadline to do so is October 31 at midnight CT.

The album includes the full set from July’s intimate performance at London’s Union Chapel.

This year, White has already released two new studio albums, Fear Of The Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive .

“To celebrate the explosive run of shows, having received some of the most rave live reviews Jack has ever seen in his 20-plus year career onstage, Third Man Records’ 54th Vault package is dedicated to the best of the best, the 3xLP  Selections From The Supply Chain Issues Tour ,” the press release about the new live issue reads.

“Disc one (pressed on blue vinyl) features the best live recordings of songs from the bombastic, fiery album  Fear Of The Dawn.  While the studio takes are taut and muscular and finessed, these live renditions of songs like ‘Taking Me Back’ and ‘The White Raven’ expand beyond that idea, where they are able to luxuriously conjure musical themes and chase avant garde tangents and ultimately deliver versions that land light years beyond their initial counterparts.

“Disc two (pressed on white vinyl) features Jack White’s show at Union Chapel in London in its entirety. An intimate, emotional concert performance dedicated to his son Henry Lee with songs dedicated both to Jack’s wife, Olivia Jean, and his daughter, Scarlett, along with first-ever live performances of the tracks ‘Help Me Along’ and ‘I’ve Got You Surrounded (With My Love)’ and ‘Taking Me Back (Gently)’ the whole show was nothing short of spellbinding and the sentimental feeling in the room that night is clearly evident in the grooves of this record.

“Disc three (pressed on black vinyl) is the wildcard. With the dynamic band of Dominic Davis on bass, Daru Jones on drums, and Quincy McCrary on keyboards, Jack has been, more so than ever before, truly improvising compelling cover songs and brand new, off-the-top-of-his-head compositions. With covers ranging from the public domain ‘Wayfaring Stranger’ through the Stooges’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ to the D.O.C’s ‘It’s Funky Enough’ and the Monks ‘I Hate You’ across a gamut of blues essentials like ‘I’m A Man’ and ‘Cool Drink Of Water Blues’ and ‘Born Under A Bad Sign’…it’s a true treat to hear the band snatch these moments out of the unrehearsed ether. Beyond that…true original songs like ‘That’s How I’m Feeling Right Now’ and ‘Yes, I’m So Sick’ and ‘When I’m Home You Can Feel The Tension’ are legitimately ecstatic, memorable explorations that belie the fact that they are 100% spontaneous compositions, written on the spot during the live shows.

“And just for the hell of it, we’re including a 7” single of ‘A Tip From You To Me’ complete with the previously unreleased solo acoustic demo of the song on the b-side…pressed on sparkly blue vinyl. As should be expected, the cover art fits into the ten-years-running tradition of Jack White album single images that fit in neatly with each other…now totaling SIXTEEN entries into the ever-expanding, ever-impressive tableau.”

Jack White's 'Supply Chain Issues Tour' stops in Pittsburgh with no lack of sustenance

Paul Guggenheimer

A week ago (Friday) Jack White released a new album, played the national anthem before the Detroit Tigers home opener, kicked off his “Supply Chain Issues Tour,” with a show at the Motor City’s Masonic Temple theater, proposed to his singer/girlfriend Olivia Jean on stage during the show and then married her during the encore.

How was White going to top that in Pittsburgh?

Arriving at the Petersen Events Center, on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Oakland, Thursday night, White came pretty close.

Six dates into his tour, White burst onto the stage looking like he was ready to shatter a backboard at the home of the Pitt Panthers basketball teams.

Appearing none the worse for wear after his busy week, with his blue hair thick on top and tight on the sides, White launched into the show with the first three songs on his new disc, “Fear of the Dawn.”

He tore into “Taking Me Back,” a meaty opening tune featuring searing licks from his blue-and-white guitar and a driving beat that immediately put the crowd under his spell.

He followed the opening song with the “Fear of the Dawn” title track, a fiery number that screams for attention, and “The White Raven.”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jack White (@officialjackwhite)

By then the train was roaring out of the station. White’s concert was like the subway cars in the famous chase scene from “The French Connection,” which is to say that he didn’t stop — one song segued powerfully into the next.

Dressed in a tight black shirt with thin white stripes, black pants and boots, White made it clear from the start that he was in control of the action, a quarterback giving a stare here and a nod there at his bandmates, assessing the defense and maybe calling an audible at the line.

There was no time for chit-chat with the audience, no dead time between songs, no wardrobe changes and nothing cute during the evening. White was determined to keep the energy going.

After the three new songs off the top, White’s train took an unpredictable turn into The White Stripes’ “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” and the crowd went right along with him as he crushed that old sweet song, strutting and spinning confidently.

“All right Pittsburgh, are you with us now?” asked White in his first words to the crowd.

They were with him. How could they not be?

White and his band were an irresistible force, four guys following the Beatles template. A good rock band doesn’t need more than four guys, especially if it’s these four.

In a unique set-up, drummer Daru Jones was seated on the left side of the stage facing the audience. Wearing a stylish, small black hat with a white band, Jones pounded his kit relentlessly, even standing up at one point, while he remained spot-on, keeping the energy at the level White wanted.

Bass player Dominic Davis, dovetailing nicely with Jones, stayed largely in the background but was kept company by a large statue that bore a resemblance to White, the only way to explain why it was there. And then there was keyboard player Quincy McCrary, who provided seamless harmony on songs like “Love Interruption” facing the piano that White occasionally played during the show.

White is almost as good a piano player as he is a guitarist, something that became especially evident on songs like the soulful “What’s Done Is Done.”

But clearly guitar is where White really takes command, conjuring up any sound or style he wants, with the crowd really eating up his Latin-flavored licks on the White Stripes’ song “I Think I Smell a Rat.”

It was just one of many White Stripes songs included in the set along with “Fell in Love With a Girl,” “Icky Thump” and “Black Math,” and White’s fans certainly didn’t seem to mind. For that matter, no one seemed to mind that White once again enforced his policy of requiring patrons to place their cellphones in locked bags during the show which, though inconvenient, made for a more pleasurable viewing experience.

And there were Raconteurs songs as well, including of course, “ Steady, as She Goes ,” the last song before the encore and easily the best one of the night, featuring that seductive signature bass line laid down by Davis from the familiar opening notes.

The encore featured more White Stripes, including of course, the grand finale — “ Seven Nation Army ” — with the crowd on its feet chanting “Oh oh oh oh oooooh oh,” just as fans do at pretty much every major sports event in the country these days.

When it was over, White stood still at the front of the stage taking in his well-deserved standing ovation before taking a bow with his band.

And so ended roughly two hours of great music and showmanship. It was impossible not to be impressed. Jack White has now clearly joined the likes of Bruce Springsteen as one of the faces of American rock ’n’ roll.

“Thank you Pittsburgh,” said White. “God bless you and I’ll see you real soon, I hope.”
