ABOUT JOURNEY
Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold over 100 million albums globally. Their "Greatest Hits" album is certified 15 times-platinum, making JOURNEY one of the few bands to ever have been diamond-certified, and their song "Don't Stop Believin'" has been streamed over one billion times alone.
JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan", a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and "Frontiers" in their entirety. JOURNEY has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and were inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame. Additionally, the band is the subject of the award-winning documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" about the band's resurgence upon adding Arnel Pineda as lead singer after JOURNEY Founder, Neal Schon discovered the Philippines native on YouTube.
The members of TOTO are celebrating an accomplishment few bands have achieved in the modern era. Cumulative streams of the ensemble’s repertoire
now exceed 3 billion plays. Amongst the most listened to recordings, “Africa” accounts for over one billion streams at Spotify alone. This year the song was recertified by the RIAA 8X Platinum.
Over the past decade, the band has had a major renaissance in popularity like few bands at this point in their career. The audience is truly multi-generational, becoming younger with each passing year. Joining Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams are band members bassist John Pierce (Huey Lewis and The News), drummer Robert “Sput” Searight (Ghost-Note, Founding member Snarky Puppy, Snoop Dogg), keyboardist Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (Prince, Ghost-Note), multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Warren Ham (Ringo Starr) and keyboardist / background vocalist Steve Maggiora,. This line-up marks the fifteenth incarnation of Toto in consideration of band members or sidemen who joined or exited. Individually and collectively, few have had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. The family tree can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with hundreds of Grammy nominations.
With now 45+ years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time: Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility. They are pop culture and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles continuing to remain relevant.

Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed
Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.
The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.
Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.
Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."
When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."
Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.
"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."

Journey Announce Huge 2023 North American Tour With Toto
Journey and Toto had such a great time touring together in 2022, they're going to do it together again in 2023. The two legendary rock bands will share the stage on the continuation of Journey's 50th anniversary "Freedom Tour."
The new batch of dates start Feb. 4 in Allentown, Pa., keeping the bands on the road through the April 25 finale in Palm Springs, Calif. You can see all of the dates, cities and venues listed below. It should also be noted that a handful of shows are ones that have been rescheduled from earlier this year when the band had to postpone dates due to COVID-19.
Journey guitarist Neal Schon says, "We are all thankful and overwhelmed by the success of our Journey 'Freedom Tour 2022' this year and have added a new run of dates for 2023. We are looking forward to hitting the road again with our very good friends Toto! Come join us for a special evening full of fun and rockin' good memories. See you soon, friends."
Keyboardist Jonathan Cain adds, "Excited to perform for our fans as we tour next year with Toto. The combined hits of both bands represent a couple of decades of excellence that have become a soundtrack for people's lives. The music of Journey along with the music of Toto is an example of 'certain music' during 'uncertain times.'"
Meanwhile, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather chips in, "'On behalf of myself and the band, we are very honored and excited to do this tour with our old and dear friends Journey. Gonna be a great night of music, and as all the guys are lifelong friends... a blast off stage as well."
Tickets are expected to go on sale this Friday (Oct. 21) at 10AM local time. Stay tuned to each band's websites for additional ticketing info.

Although we can’t tell you for certain what they’ll perform at their 2024 concerts, here’s a look at what they busted out at most 2023 gigs, courtesy of Set List FM .
01.) “Only the Young”
02.) “Stone in Love” 03.) “Don’t Stop Believin'” 04.) “Lights” 05.) “Send Her My Love” 06.) “Escape” 07.) “Chain Reaction” 08.) “Who’s Crying Now” 09.) “Mother, Father” 10.) “Let It Rain” 11.) “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin'” 12.) “Open Arms” 13.) “Faithfully” 14.) “Girl Can’t Help It” 15.) “Wheel in the Sky” 16.) “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)”

Journey band members
50 years together is nothing to sneeze at.
As a result, there’s been a bit of turnover since the band’s start way back in the ’70s.
For a closer look, here’s who you’ll likely see onstage at a ‘Freedom’ concert next year:
Neal Schon: lead guitar, backing vocals (1973–1987, 1991, 1995–) Jonathan Cain: keyboards, piano, backing vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica (1980–1987, 1991, 1995–) Deen Castronovo: drums, backing and lead vocals (1998–2015, 2021–) Arnel Pineda: lead vocals (2007–) Jason Derlatka: keyboards, backing and lead vocals (2019–) Todd Jensen: bass, backing vocals (2021–)[138]
Journey new music
In 2022, Journey dropped their 16th studio album “Freedom.”
The 73-minute record is comprised of 15 songs that all harken back to the band’s glory years.
Anthemic choruses, soaring guitar solos and heartfelt ballads litter the record.
For our money, the hard rockin’ “You Got The Best Of Me” is the highlight of “Freedom” although the catchy “All Day And All Night” comes in a close second.
Want to hear the record for yourself?
You can listen to “Freedom” in its entirety here.
Steve Lukather’s long-running rock group are headliners in their own right.
Most will know them for their smash singles like “Africa,” “Rosanna” and “Hold The Line” but their catalog runs much deeper than that.
Over the course of their six decades (!) together, they’ve released 14 albums with the most recent hitting shelves in 20128.
If you’d like to brush up on their output, you can find Toto’s complete discography here.

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, JOURNEY has 25 gold and platinum albums, with total sales adding up to over 100 million albums worldwide, earning the band two Diamond Awards with a third on the way for the “Frontiers” album. TOTO plays classic favorites in Beaver Creek Tuesday
News News | Apr 8, 2024
Kimberly Nicoletti
Since 1977, a tight band and high-quality musicianship have been TOTO’s theme, said singer Joseph Williams. The classic rock band has been performing with Journey’s 50 th anniversary Freedom Tour, but on April 9, TOTO has the stage all to itself to play favorites and deeper cuts that “so far, have gotten audiences on their feet,” he said.
Williams and original lead guitarist Steve Lukather, aka Luke, form the core of TOTO’s Dogz of Oz Tour, which comprises 14 headlining shows throughout North America. It’s interspersed with their 30 appearances earlier this year — which finish up this month — supporting Journey before the two bands tour Europe.
“As long-tenured members of the band, Joe and I want to be on the road continuing to keep the original legacy of the band alive, bringing the music to our multi-generational fan base,” Lukather said. “In 2023, it was truly humbling to perform in front of close to a million fans. And for 2024, we’ll stage appearances in front of even more across the globe. I’ve spent more than four and a half decades of my life nurturing this legacy, while enabling the music to continually exist in the live concert setting.”
Williams, who originally joined TOTO in 1986, then rejoined in 2010, said the two have been through a lot with one another.
“Our creative partnership has always enriched our lives,” Williams said. “As we look ahead, there is nothing but anticipation to bring everything in our minds to life. I can’t think of anyone else on Earth I’d rather collaborate with. He is a lifelong, loyal and gifted friend and bandmate. We’ve become The Dogz of Oz.”

“Hold The Line” became the band’s first hit, peaking at No. 5 in 1978 on TOTO’s self-titled debut album, which won a Grammy for producer of the year. Other Grammy awards followed, including three for “Rosanna” in 1983, in the form of record of the year, best vocal arrangement for two or more voices and best instrumental arrangement accompanying vocals. TOTO IV also won album of the year.
Williams credits songs like “Rosanna,” which hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, and “Africa,” the band’s only single that topped the charts at No. 1 in 1982, as the “real” reason TOTO has continued to remain popular throughout the decades. Though, he also points to the high level of musicianship in the band.
“‘Africa’ had so many different lives — as a Weezer cover, in TV and movies and as rap songs — that it has consistently been in the consciousness, and it holds up after all these years,” he said. “They’re based on great musicianship and the studio musicians who came together. It’s stellar musicianship — almost virtuoso level.”
TOTO’s sound has evolved throughout the decades, from the original album’s R&B flavor to the 1980s streamlined rock vibe, in order to remain relevant within the music industry. It also changed with various band lineups — in the first decade, TOTO went through three different singers, and, for a time period in the 1990s, it was left with no real lead vocalist, Williams said.
In 2018, the band released its greatest hits album, “40 Trips Around the Sun.” It included 14 tracks from 1978 to 1993 and three previously unreleased recordings: “Spanish Sea,” “Alone” and “Struck by Lightning.” The musicians originally recorded “Spanish Sea” in 1984, so they rerecorded it, singing alongside their former 20-some selves and deceased members Jeff and Mike Porcaro, which reminded them “just how deep their groove was,” Lukather said in written notes about the album.
Greg Phillinganes, vocalist and keyboardist for TOTO in the early 2000s, and Shannon Forrest, the band’s drummer from 2015-19, return to the current lineup, which also includes bassist John Pierce, keyboardist and vocalist Steve Maggiora and Warren Ham on horns, percussion and vocals.
“Over the past decade, TOTO has had a major renaissance in popularity like few bands at this point in their career,” according to a TOTO press release. “They are pop culture, and one of the few ’70s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles while continuing to remain relevant.”
And, members like Williams don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
“I still love it,” he said. “I’m a road dog — I like being on the road. The travel is tough sometimes, but touring is great. We’ve all known each other since we were young guys 50 years ago, and everyone gets along and still gets very excited to do the shows.”
