This tour should ideally be book between the hours of 8:00am – 7:00pm during the summer and can accommodate up to 4 passengers.

This tour is perfect for visitors arriving at The Royal Naval Dockyard on a cruise ship. You will be given a full 8 hour tour of Bermuda learning about our culture and visiting some of the the most popular attractions.

Stops – St George’s, Crystal Caves , Fort Hamilton , Horseshoe Bay , Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse , Fort Scaur

Price – $500 plus $40 for attractions.

This tour should ideally be started between 8:00am – 10:00am and can accommodate up to 4 people

This tour will take you back to a time before Bermuda was inhabited to now as you learn how the island was formed in such a remote location and the chain of events leading to it becoming the country it is today. Visits to the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo (BAMZ) and Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) will teach you about the natural history and unique geology of Bermuda while Fort Saint Catherine and other forts will give you a glimpse into the lives of the early settlers. You will also experience stunning views from great vantage points throughout the island. You will also have time to stop for lunch or have it delivered to one of the tour locations.

Kings Square, St. George’s Guided Tour [Free!]

Take a guided walking tour of the Town of St. George’ s, followed by a personal greeting from the Mayor on Wednesdays at 10.30am and 1.30pm and on Saturdays at 10.30am between November and March, all at no charge. Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

While not exactly the quickest mode of transportation, you can step back in time and enjoy a relaxing carriage ride around different Bermuda locales, giving you a firsthand feel for the island and its history.

Generally speaking, from April until October, you can find available horse drawn carriages on Front Street in the City of Hamilton , in the Royal Naval Dockyard as well as St. Georges.

Horseback Trail Rides While not exactly a tour in the traditional sense, a trail ride along Bermuda’s scenic south shore beaches will give you a uniquely Bermudian experience that you simply can’t replicate anywhere else, making it a worthwhile way to explore this treasured part of the island.

There are around 600 taxis in Bermuda. All are regulated by the government and must be insured and clearly marked. Drivers are self-employed but must adhere to strict regulations including a dress code. They can carry a maximum of 7 passengers.

All Bermuda taxis are fitted with a meter and rates are fixed by the government.

For 1 to 4 passengers the rate is $2.75 per mile. The meter starts at $5.15 (i.e. $7.90 for the first mile).

For 5 to 7 passengers the rate is $3.50 per mile. The meter starts at $6.45 (i.e. $9.95 for the first mile).

A $1 surcharge is added for each item of luggage.

Taxi rates are 25 percent higher (50 percent for 5 to 7 passengers) between midnight and 6 am, and all day on Sundays and public holidays.

Taxis can also be hired by the hour for sightseeing. Rates are $50 per hour (1 – 4 passengers) and $70 per hour (5 – 7 passengers).

According to the relevant legislation, a child carried in the arms should not be counted as a passenger. Furthermore, two children under 12 years old should be counted as one passenger.

An appropriate tip for the driver is around 15 percent of the fare. Don’t make the assumption that taxi drivers are making a fortune. They’re not. A lot of the drivers are quite old but are still working to make ends meet. Bear in mind that gas costs significantly more in Bermuda than in the US and most other countries (see our guide to the cost of living ).

Taxi Stands and Fares

On your arrival at LF Wade International Airport there will generally be a fleet of taxis waiting to take you to your hotel. No reservations are required and waiting times are generally short. Short waits are possible when flights are delayed and several flights come into Bermuda at once.

Approximate fares from the airport to various hotels are shown in the table below. The fares quoted are before any luggage surcharges and tips.

There are numerous taxi stands on Front Street (including in front of Gosling’s , Butterfield, and near the Port O’ Call). There’s also a taxi rank on Church Street, just west of City Hall .

Fares from Hamilton to Dockyard (Kings Wharf/Heritage Wharf), St George, LF Wade International Airport and major tourist attractions are listed below. The fares are approximate and before any tips and baggage surcharges.

The taxi rank in St George is situated on King’s Square, close to the White Horse Pub.

Taxi fares from St George to Hamilton, Royal Naval Dockyard, LF Wade International Airport, Rosewood Tucker’s Point, Tobacco Bay Beach, Fort St Catherine and other popular destinations are shown in the table below.

Taxis also wait outside major hotels (Elbow Beach, Hamilton Princess, Fairmont Southampton etc.). You can also find them in in the car parks of tourist hotspots like Horseshoe Bay .

Reservations are recommended, but not necessary. We advise booking in advance by phone – (441) 293 0640. Closed January 1, Good Friday, December 24, 25 and 26. Rubber soled shoes are suggested. There are 88 steps down into the caves.

Crystal Cave: Adults: $24 Children (12 and under): $10   Children under 5 are free.

Fantasy Cave: Adults: $24   Children (12 and under): $10 Children under 5 are free.

Tips for Planning Your Visit to the Crystal & Fantasy C aves

The Crystal & Fantasy Caves are in Hamilton Parish in the eastern end of Bermuda. They are ten minutes journey by bus from the Town of St. George and 30 minutes by bus from the City of Hamilton .

The Royal Naval Dockyard cruise ship port is located at the west end of the island. To reach the caves from the Royal Naval Dockyard the options are:

• Ferry from Dockyard to the City of Hamilton, then take bus route 1, 3, 10 or 11 to St. George’s and disembark at the Crystal Caves bus stop. Estimate one hour of travel.
• Ferry from Dockyard to St. George’s (summer months only, when ships are in port), then take bus route 1, 3, 10 or 11 to the City of Hamilton and disembark at the Crystal Caves bus stop. Estimate one hour of travel.
• Hire a taxi for the journey from Dockyard to the Crystal Caves. Estimate 40 to 45 minutes travel time and a cost of $75 for up to four people.

The admission price to the caves does not include transportation.

Our tours are guided and there is no swimming in the cave. Sensible rubber soled footwear is advised.

A tour of one cave takes about 35 minutes. The combination tour of both Crystal and Fantasy caves takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. If you visit on a weekday in the summer between 11am and 2:30pm you may encounter a long line – please avoid these times if possible.

When you are visiting the caves, remember the Swizzle Inn Pub , Bailey’s Ice Cream Parlour and Walsingham Nature Reserve are within walking distance, so you can plan to spend a day in the area.

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo is a popular attraction for all ages which is close by. It is easily reached from the caves on bus route 10 or 11 and is located between the Crystal Caves and the City of Hamilton.

We originally wanted to visit Suzdal and Vladimir only but at the strong recommendation of Angel Taxi, we decided to visit Sergiev Posad as well. No regret for that decision! They will also recommend the best itinerary for you and advise you on what’s possible and what may not be possible based on the timing / plans you have in mind. No booking fee/deposit required - Given that we are based overseas (in Malaysia), I was very pleased (and surprised, to be honest) that they do not require booking fee/deposit which allow us to save money on making international transfer. They obviously placed high level of confidence in the customers that they will not cancel the tour last minute. Ability to handle last minute request - We reduced our group from 4 person to 3 person and decided to change the type of car (from a minivan to a sedan) around 1 week before our actual tour. Granted it was peak season due to the World Cup and we made our request fairly last minute, Angel Taxi managed to get a sedan for us. In fact, throughout the tour, we could see the tour guide working very hard trying to accommodate customers’ last minute request. But please manage your own expectation accordingly.... The Tour (Day 1) - Angel taxi arranged for a car to pick us up at Moscow airport and we started the first day by heading with Sergiev Posad. Once we got there, we chose to check in the hotel first. The hotel was arranged and booked by Angel Tour as well - see point below on the hotel. After that, we met up with Alexander (our guide from Angel Taxi) and started with visiting Troitse-Sergieva Lavra. Alexander gave very detailed explanation and will allow you some free time to take photos after explanation time. The UNESCO world heritage site is so beautiful and the history to each of the buildings is something that should not be missed. After lunch, Alexander brought us to 2 different shops that does handmade wooden toys and Russian dolls. If I remember correctly, they are among the oldest in Sergiev Posad. The wooden toys and crafts are special and fairly cheap, it’s a good buy as souvenir. We then went to a house museum run by an old man. He collected many things over the year that he decided to open his house (turning it into a small cosy museum) for the public to visit. It’s very interesting because it allows you a glimpse into the past - how Russian used to live, how were the tools used etc. He even has a huge carousel in his garden and 2 squirrels :D Hotel - The Hotel was spacious with a comfortable King size bed and a bath tub in the toilet. The only downside was at night, we waited for almost 2 hours for hot water (we were originally told to wait for 30-40 minutes) but there was still no hot water. The water was freezing cold which made it almost impossible to shower. What we learnt after that was, we should have texted Alexander about the problem (regardless the time) and he would bring us to a place with hot shower! Anyway, we won’t attribute this hiccup to Angel Taxi as it is out of their control. Having said that, at the request of Angel Taxi, the hotel packed us nice and huge breakfast for the next day as we had to start our journey at 5am. The Tour (Day 2) - Because of the distance to Suzdal and it was a Friday and we have to go back to Moscow on the day itself, we had to start our journey at 5am. An early start was good as we were well-rewarded with the BEST bell-ringing melody (by nun). It’s like a song, with the morning fresh air and colourful flowers around it, made us feel calm and peaceful. Really thankful to Alexander for managing the timing as we would have missed the bell-ringing if we started our journey any later. We then went to another cathedral with similar Bell-ringing, but this time by man. After that, we also got to enjoy a short session of choir. We managed to visit the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, Bogolyubovo as well. It’s a small church located in the middle of a field, around 15-20 minutes walk across the field to get to the church. All in all, we couldn’t have enjoyed all of these on day 2 without Alexander being familiar with the timing of each event and managing the timing.

We had taken a three hour tour to Food City moscow. Mostly for translation services. Excellent work done by Alex for us. Specially with his vast experience of different cultures. Service was top notch and puntual.

We decided to take this tour during World Cup, 40 min drive from Moscow, it worth it !!! Recommended for Aviation enthusiasts, a lot of aircraft on display, it is a 2-3 hour tour if you like aircraft as I do, looking at them as from different angles as possible, the guide Alexander, excellent English, something we were looking for after 3-4 days on Russia, very friendly and with all the knowledge needed, now he also knows our western sarcasm, LOL. Museum (indoor) is small but very complete did enjoy it and very friendly ladies, I just wanted to see aircrafts on display and almost ran outside. Definitely will return and maybe schedule it with an airshow which happens every 2 years !!!!

We had the most amazing time touring both St. Petersburg and Moscow. Angel Tours was simply amazing, very professional and extremely informative regarding places to visits given we knew very little about their history. All the tours were booked online from the USA. Once we arrived in St. Petersburg, they help answer all our questions, including assisting in finding our luggage which was lost at the airport. I do believe that we would not have found our luggage if Angel tours had not helped. It was very difficult communicating with the carrier. They also help us to board the train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Thanks to them, we had the most wonderful time visiting these two beautiful and fascinating cities which I would strongly recommend visiting.

Excellent tour! We would highly recommend this day tour from Moscow to the Monastery of St Sergius and other attractions in Sergiyev Posad. We were collected at our hotel by a friendly driver, Igor, and met our guide, Alexander, in this lovely Golden Ring town. It was Sunday and the feast day of the Holy Trinity. We couldn’t access the churches until the afternoon so Alexander took us to a wooden toy making shop and also a very quirky private museum, full of old tools and memorabilia. The visit to the monastery was wonderful. It is an amazing place with many churches inside the walls. Alexander is a great guide and very knowledgeable. June and Michael Gregg

We used Angel Tours and Taxi Service for a number of transfers in and around Moscow. All the drivers were very polite, friendly and professional and the communication and updates from Angel Taxis was greatly appreciated. My teenage son and I also did a tour of the Monino Aircraft Museum with Alexander and his was excellent. Very informative and detailed. I would highly recommend this company for tourists visiting Moscow.
