King Control: Throttle and Cruise Control Issues
This throttle control/cruise control is used on mid-to-late 90's mechanical Cummins engines. The newer electronic-control engines made these units obsolete. Steve can fix them. And the King Control electronic cruise control makes a great refit in the early 1990's coaches with the obsolete Bendix cruise as well.

Steve Boler owner of Cruise King, was the only source I have found for support of the King 2600 Cruise/Throttle System. This is found on many Cummins mechanical engines.

It's a king Cruise 2000 model that came with the original gillig chassis. After 25 years of service she lost the cable. Seems like a pretty simple fix but they no longer have parts for that model.

I am thinking of purchasing a king cruise control and installing it myself. The bus is a MCI-7 8v-92T alison automatic with air throttle. I was quoted 12000 for parts and 1500 for labor to install. Any opinions on the king cruise control or the difficulty of instulation. Thanks Bob

The wiring harness is located at www.vintageparts.org. The part # is 70141-99 and is a cruise control wiring harness. They show they have over 400 in stock. They will not sell it to you though. You must buy it through the dealer. Mine cost $116.00 and a lot of talking to convince them they could get it for me.

Today the Cruise control on my 2002 Road King (FLHRCI) went kaput. Seems like the stepper motor is inoperative. ... Seems like Harley has stopped distribution of cruise control parts for early touring models. The part in question is 70955-98B - Control module. It is also part of Cruise control kit 77183-02 also no where to be found.
