PGA Tour Schedule And Results 2023
The PGA Tour schedule for the 2022/23 season is confirmed, and it includes some huge purse increases
- Sign up to Golf Monthly Newsletter Newsletter
The 2022/23 PGA Tour schedule is made up of 47 tournaments comprising 44 regular season events and culminating in the three FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The most significant changes from last year concern the purses on offer. With LIV Golf expanding its schedule for 2023, the PGA Tour has responded with some huge prize money increases in an attempt to combat the threat.
The purse for the Sentry Tournament of Champions leapt from $8.2m to $15m, while the Genesis Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Memorial Tournament and WGC-Match Play are to feature total prize pots of $20m - up from $12m.
At March's Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass , the game's biggest names will compete for a record $25m, while the FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship have had their purses increased from $15m to $20m.
Team USA's Ryder Cup standings will also be finalised at the conclusion of the second BMW Championship, while European hopefuls will have until September 3 to qualify automatically for Luke Donald's side.
The WGC-Match Play at Austin Country Club is the only World Golf Championship on the schedule following the announcement of the PGA Tour's 13 "designated events" aimed at getting the best players together more often. The co-sanctioned Genesis Scottish Open in July also returns as part of the DP and PGA Tour's ongoing strategic alliance.
Speaking on the changes, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said: "We’ve heard from our fans and the overwhelming sentiment was that they wanted more consequences for both the FedEx Cup Regular Season and the Playoffs, and to further strengthen events that traditionally feature top players competing head-to-head.

"We feel strongly we’ve accomplished all of these objectives and more, creating a cadence of compelling drama for every tournament throughout the season. Each week has its own identity and purpose, and we’re set up for an exciting 2022-23 campaign as we transition into a calendar season in 2024 that will include a number of new and innovative competitive aspects in the fall."

What are the prize money payouts for the 38 tournaments on the 2024 pga tour schedule, share this article.
There are 38 events on the PGA Tour’s 2024 schedule, with 37 of them doling out $ 398,900,000 in prize money payouts.
The Tour Championship provides the biggest paydays to the lucky 30 who reach the season finale, but all of the money distributed at East Lake Golf Club is considered bonus.
So it’s the first 37 events of the season that the write checks – or shall we say, eletronic transfers – the big sums that count towards the official money list.
The Players Championship has the most official money at stake. There are eight signature events with $20 million purses. There’s the majors and the FedEx Cup Playoff events. Then there’s the best of the rest and finally the four opposite-field affairs.
To repeat, there’s nearly $400 million in official prize money and another $75 in bonus money up for grabs on the PGA Tour in 2024. Here’s a breakdown.
The Players Championship

The so-called fifth major has the most dough available with a $25 million purse and a $4.5 million first-place prize. The top five will clear $1 million.

The U.S. Open is the richest of the four men’s majors. The Open matched the signature events in 2023 with a $20 million total purse and a $3.6 million first-place check. Like all the men’s majors for 2024, the total purse numbers will be unveiled the week of the tournament. The Masters unveiled its money totals during Saturday’s third round . Here’s what the four majors paid out in 2023:

Of the eight signature events in 2024, three are of the Players-hosted variety. All signature events have a $20 million total purse but these three have an increased first-place prize of $4 million.

Among the other five signature events in 2024, most are repeats from a year ago but the WM Phoenix Open has dropped off, replaced by the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments

There are three FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments but the third, the Tour Championship, doles out its loot in the form of bonus money. It spends the same but it does not count towards a players official money.
The best of the rest

Among this group, the Bryon Nelson is the one with the biggest payday. The Canadian Open is not far behind.
There were five of these with a purse less than $8 million a year ago. Now there’s just one, as the money continues to rise across the Tour.
The opposite-field events
There are four of these opposite-field events, all of them providing golfers with a change at a valuable PGA Tour win. The money is up on all of them but still short of a million dollar first-place prize. One of them is a new event at Myrtle Beach.

2024 Zurich Classic purse: Payout info, winner’s share
Luke List and Henrik Norlander are in the hunt at the 2024 Zurich Classic.
Getty Images
The Zurich Classic occupies a unique spot on the PGA Tour schedule. It’s the only team event of the year, and that means there are a couple of specifics that make it different to individual medal play.
While the winning team is still entitled to PGA Tour exemptions and FedEx points, there are no world-ranking point s awarded at this tournament. Prize money is also slightly more complicated, with the winning team sharing the money generally earmarked for first and second place, the second-place team splitting the money for third and fourth place, and so on.
This week, there’s an $8.9 million purse up for grabs, with $1.268 million going to each player on the winning team. The drop-off to second is pretty steep, with $525,100 for each player on the runner-up team. (Compare that to last week’s Signature Event purse in Hilton Head , where every player in the top 10 make $541,000 or more.)
To clear six figures in New Orleans this week, players will have to finish in the top 11.

2024 PGA Tour schedule: Tournaments, dates, purses and venues
The 2024 PGA Tour schedule has been announced, with a significant overhaul to the 48-event docket that golf fans have been accustomed to seeing in recent years.
The most significant changes to the schedule are going back to a calendar-year schedule, with the FedEx Cup season running from the start in January through the end of the Tour Championship in August. The FedEx Cup Fall will still unfold from September through November, but these tournaments will not count toward the full-season FedEx Cup standings -- rather, they will be added on to the FedEx Cup points earned through the FedEx St. Jude Championship to determine the top 125 in PGA Tour cards.
Signature events
The PGA Tour has created a series of signature events, all of which will have purses of at least $20 million: the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The Genesis Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial Tournament, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the RBC Heritage, the Wells Fargo Championship and the Travelers Championship. These events will offer 700 FedEx Cup points to the winners and will have limited fields based on the top 50 in the prior year's FedEx Cup standings and other criteria.
FedEx Cup playoff changes
The FedEx Cup playoffs are changing for 2024 as well. The series will remain at three events, but only the top 70 players in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify, with cuts to 50, then to 30 players after each of the FedEx Cup events. The FedEx Cup bonus pool increases this year to $100 million.

2024 Zurich Classic live stream, TV schedule, where to watch online, channel, tee times, radio, golf coverage
Grab a partner as this team-style event on the pga tour wraps up sunday.
For the seventh straight year, golfers are in the Bayou taking part in the PGA Tour's annual team-style event. The 2024 Zurich Classic welcomed 80 teams of two as partners hoping to grab a trophy by week's end at TPC Louisiana.
Headlining the action are the two players who seemingly do everything together: Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. The good friends were victorious in their first go around in 2022 but failed to defend their title a season ago. They started well this go-around but will need to make some major gains on Sunday if they hope to win two of three titles in New Orleans.
A new pairing making its debut features world No. 2 Rory McIlroy -- in his first tournament appearance -- playing alongside Shane Lowry. The duo, which has shared Ryder Cup success, is together near the top of the Zurich Classic leaderboard sitting just two strokes back entering the final 18 holes Sunday.
Follow Zurich Classic playoff coverage now that Round 4 has concluded.
Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala also entered as a strong duo on paper, as was the case with Collin Morikawa and Kurt Kitayama. Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor hoped to do one better than their runner-up performance in 2023 with Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith also starring as an all-Canadian team. Brothers Alex and Matt Fitzpatrick team up for the second straight year with Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard, plus Parker and Pierceson Coody, also making this week a family affair.
