Copenhagen, Denmark

Cruises from Copenhagen depart from late spring through early fall. Copenhagen is the lively capital city of Denmark with storybook charm. Tourists will want to view the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale; visit Tivoli Gardens, the world-famous amusement park; and witness the changing of the guard at 18th-century Amalienborg Palace, home of the Danish royal family. Another palace of note is the grand Christiansborg Palace, located on the island of Slotsholmen atop ruins of a castle from 1167. Now a government building, the palace hosts the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court and the queen's throne room. Many excursions feature these major attractions as well as the Royal Danish Opera and Kronborg Castle, the setting of Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Other outings explore Copenhagen's canals and bustling harbor by boat or kayak, or head to Dragor, a charming fishing village with winding cobblestone streets and seaside restaurants.

Cruises from/to Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen, denmark cruise port.

Want to put a smile on your face? Copenhagen is just the city to do it, as it is the capital of Denmark, which has been ranked as the happiest country for two years in a row, according to the United Nations. This capital juts out and nearly connects with Sweden, creating the strait of Oresund which separates the North Sea from the Baltic Sea. Rent a bicycle and traverse this city the way the locals do. Aside from providing a healthy workout, this is one of the most enjoyable ways to see the most of this city and its Baroque buildings, spires and modern structures. The city is known for its bicycle culture where bike lanes crisscross the city and are respected by motorists. Contact our experts for help planning your cruise to Copenhagen, Denmark. Featured below are a few of our favorite experiences for the cruise port of Copenhagen, Denmark:

  • Stroll the Stroget, the world’s longest pedestrian-only street. Here you can find shops galore.
  • If you’re lucky, get a reservation at Noma, which has been named the best restaurant in the world for three years.
  • Have a night of fun at Tivoli Garden, the amusement park that inspired Walt Disney. At night the park is lit up by 1,000 light bulbs.
  • Learn about and view major works of modern art, along with a stunning view of the Oresund Strait, at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
  • A trip to Copenhagen wouldn’t be complete without a visit to The Little Mermaid statue near the city’s port. The statue was constructed to honor Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.

Ovation cruise port in Copenhagen

Cool Cruiser

If you've recently boarded the Ovation in Copenhagen, can you tell me the particular port location/address that was used?  Seabourn is showing me 2 different possibilities.  I'd like to know where to tell a taxi.  We are on July 9th Copenhagen to Copenhagen.

this is how you can check and get updates:

go to this website:   https://www.cmport.com/terminals/ships-in-port/

- click on the Copenhagen tab - enter the date you are looking for - add name of ship - a list will populate - in the status column, select the down arrow and the details will be listed

it is showing: Oceankag, quay c332

* always a good idea to revisit as you get closer to sail date as this may change

On June 11 we sailed from OceanKaj terminal 1.  Sometimes called pier 331.

This morning we returned to the same location.  I wouldn’t fret though, Orient Kaj is literally around the corner.  Long before you reach either you’ll be directing your taxi driver with finger pintinf “that one”.

I will add that it is a very basic terminal building, completely separate from literally anything else.

Thanks everyone for the info.  JHLH821, the link is very helpful.  I will check again as we get closer.

Thanks

@jondfk  were there taxis waiting at the terminal this morning? We will need to make a very sharp exit on the Sunday morning we dock 😁

There were many taxis on hand, we could see the taxi rank from our balcony.

On the other hand, when we arrived on the 11th our taxi driver said there were urgent messages from his dispatcher saying taxis needed at the port - that was at noontime so the message probably is no problem getting off, perhaps more challenging if you intend to drop bags and go back into the city for a look see.
