Ghost Announce North American Tour With Mastodon And Spiritbox
The Imperatour launches this fall
Ghost are returning to North America this fall. Following their recent run with Volbeat, Ghost are set to headline arenas on the Imperatour with special guests Mastodon and Spiritbox. The trek kicks off on Friday, August 26 at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, CA and wraps up on September 23 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI.
Tickets for Ghost’s North American Imperator will go on sale this Friday, May 20 at 10am local time via https://found.ee/Ghost_Tour . American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets in select markets before the general public beginning Wednesday, May 18 at 12pm local time through Thursday, May 19 at 10pm local time.
The newly announced dates will comprise Ghost’s first North American run since the March 11, 2022 release of its fifth album IMPERA via Loma Vista Recordings. Impera debuted at No. 1 in a sweep of the U.S. album charts, entering the Billboard 200 at No. 2 with first week sales of nearly 70,000. Internationally, Impera bowed at #1 in the band’s native Sweden as well as Germany and Finland, while peaking at No. 2 in the UK, Netherlands, and Belgium, No. 3 in Canada, Australia, and France, and No. 5 in Ireland. The album was produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace and features the No. 1 Billboard Rock charting “Call Me Little Sunshine,” and Active Rock #1 radio single “Hunter’s Moon.”
The announcement of Imperator’s North American swing completes a perfect storm of Ghost mania, coinciding with this week’s ascension of “Call Me Little Sunshine” to the top of the Rock Radio chart and the unveiling of Chapter 11: Family Dinner, the newest installment of Ghost’s long-running narrative series of webisodes. In this next chapter, we find Papa Emeritus IV, having returned to the Ministry, joining Sister Imperator, Mr. Saltarian, and the spirit of Papa Nihil for a meal of Chinese takeout. To take your seat at the reunion dinner, go HERE .
Support on all dates (with the exception of Green Bay which will feature support from Carcass, and the Blue Ridge Rock Fest) will come from GRAMMY® Award-winning band Mastodon, who have quietly evolved into one of the most influential, inimitable, and iconic rock bands of the modern era. Since emerging in 2000, the Atlanta quartet have defied both sonic and thematic boundaries with an uncategorizable, undeniable, and uncompromising vision unlike anything else in music. This vision manifested over the course of canonical albums such as Leviathan, which landed on Rolling Stone’s coveted The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Following the seminal Crack The Skye [named one of the best albums of 2009 by Time], they earned three consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with The Hunter [2011], Once More ‘Round the Sun [2014], and Emperor of Sand [2017]. Out of six career nominations, they received a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Metal Performance” for “Sultan’s Curse.” They are the rare creative force whose music can be felt everywhere from Game of Thrones, Adult Swim, The History Channel, and DC comics films to Coachella and Bonnaroo. They notably supported the Hirschberg Foundation For Pancreatic Cancer Research with a rendition of “Stairway To Heaven” in honor of late manager Nick John.
The group reached another critical high watermark via their ninth full-length, Hushed and Grim . Featuring the GRAMMY® Award-nominated “Pushing The Tides,” it marked the band’s third straight #1 bow on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums Chart.

GHOST is continuing to tour in support of its fifth album, "Impera" , which sold 70,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It marked the third top 10 album — and fifth top 40-charting set — for the Swedish act.
"Impera" landed at position No. 1 in Germany and Sweden, No. 2 in the U.K., Netherlands, Belgium and Norway, No. 3 in Australia, No. 5 in France and Ireland, and No. 20 in Italy.
"Impera" was released on March 11. The 12-song effort was produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace .
GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge worked on the follow-up to 2018's "Prequelle" with Åhlund and Swedish co-writers Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare , whose credits include Madonna and Lady Gaga .
In March 2020, at final show of GHOST 's "Prequelle" tour in Mexico City, Mexico, the band officially introduced Papa Emeritus IV , the new character who is fronting the act for its "Impera" album phase.
Forge performed as a "new" Papa Emeritus on each of the band's first three LPs, with each version of Papa replacing the one that came before it. Papa Emeritus III was retired in favor of Cardinal Copia before the release of "Prequelle" .
MASTODON was one of the "Best Metal Performance" nominees at the 64th annual Grammy Awards , which was held on April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The progressive metallers were nominated for their song "Pushing The Tides" , the first single from their latest album, "Hushed And Grim" , which came out in October.
The follow-up to 2017's "Emperor Of Sand" , "Hushed And Grim" was recorded at West End Sound , which is located inside of Ember City , the rehearsal facility that members of MASTODON manage in Atlanta. Helming the effort was Grammy -winning producer/mixer/engineer David Bottrill , who has previously worked with MUSE , DREAM THEATER and TOOL , among many others.
The "Hushed And Grim" artwork was created by longtime MASTODON collaborator Paul Romano , who also designed the sleeves for "Crack The Skye" , "Blood Mountain" , "Leviathan" and more.
"Emperor Of Sand" debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. That LP was nominated for the 2018 Grammy Award for "Best Rock Album," and its opening track, "Sultan's Curse" , won the Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance."

Ghost announce huge tour with Mastodon and Spiritbox
Three of the coolest bands in metal today are hitting the road together!
Ghost have announced a blockbuster set of North American tour dates - and they're bringing along some heavyweight pals from the metal scene for the ride.
Joining Tobias Forge and his spooky crew on the next leg of the Imperatour worldwide trek are Atlantan riff beasts Mastodon and fast-riding modern metal hype machine Spiritbox (aside from two dates - Green Bay, Wisconsin, at which Mastodon will swap out for death metal legends Carcass, and Danville, Virginia's Blue Ridge Rock Fest, which will feature its own lineup).
The tour announcement also included a new chapter in Ghost's ongoing video series, featuring a somewhat awkward family dinner involving Papa Emeritus IV/Cardinal Copia, Sister Imperator and the ghost of Papa Nihil. Because of course.
Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (May 20) at 10 a.m local time via Ticketmaster .

Ghost announce North American tour with Mastodon and Spiritbox
Ghost are crossing the pond with their Imperatour – and they’re bringing along the fantastic supporting cast of Mastodon and Spiritbox.
Following an absolutely brilliant UK and European run, Ghost have announced the next leg of their Imperatour.
The band will be joined by the almighty supporting cast of Mastodon and Spiritbox for these shows, which kick off in San Diego, CA on August 26 and run through to Green Bay, WI on September 23.
Of course, while the headliners will be performing in support of their latest album Impera , there's the potential for Spiritbox to drop new music in time for these shows: in a recent interview with Kerrang! , Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer confirmed they'd already written around eight new songs.
“They’re really different to the songs on Eternal Blue,” said Courtney. “I think some people might even hate them. But that makes me excited. I thrive on negativity!”
“Eternal Blue spanned over two years,” added Mike. “And so much happened over those years. Now we’re different people with different tastes and it’s nice to be able to sit down and be like, ‘What do I want to hear? What do I enjoy?’”
“We feel really energised playing and recording the new songs,” Courtney continued. “I hope that will translate to those listening. It makes me want to drive around really fast in a car – I don’t even have a licence, but I’ll do it!”
Catch the North American Imperatour at the following:

REVIEW: A Broadway ghost story, just in time for Christmas; @StageEntertain 's GHOST the Musical has never looked or sounded better https://t.co/jbhA0d2Xdd — The Prickle (@ThePrickle) December 6, 2017
Despite an initial short-lived West End run that left critics cold, Ghost the Musical has gone on to tour extensively both within the U.K. and internationally, bringing audiences who come for the iconic 1990 film, and stay for the emotionally-charged, pop-rock score and eye-popping illusions. This Russian-language tour looks and sounds better than it ever did in the U.K., lifted by two superlative casts (in rotation).
Spoiler Alert : Sam (Pavel Lyovkin) is murdered a few minutes into Act one and becomes – you guessed it – a ghost. He’s trapped to roam the earth because of unfinished business: who murdered him, and why? Enlisting the help of fake psychic Oda Mae (Marina Ivanova), Sam persuades his devastated ex Molly (Yuliya Iva) to help solve the mystery. Corny, yes, but I challenge anyone to watch the spectacular final scene without shivers of emotion.
Yuliya Iva’s powerhouse vocal and extremely tender characterisation makes her the undeniable star of the show. It’s unfortunate that, due to Russian-language casting, Oda Mae is white in this all-white production (Whoopi Goldberg played the role in the original film), but Marina Ivanova is a hoot and a clear hit with the audience. While some songs lose a thing or two in translation (for example, Molly’s Act two anthem “Nothing Stops Another Day” becomes “Tomorrow Will Be Another Day”), Ivan Rak’s sleazy banker Karl takes on a new level of machismo bite, with a powerful Russian vocal.
The standard of the staging, performances, tech (and orchestra: listen out for the moments of overblown, virtuosic guitar) is all better than the U.K. versions, so it’s hard to understand the audience’s painfully lukewarm reaction here. Maybe it’s the all-American soundtrack and setting; maybe it deviates too much from the film. But those looking for a taste of Broadway in Moscow, and a Christmas ghost story, the MDM Theatre offers just the haunt you’ve been looking for.
Ghost the Musical is booking till March 2018.

Cozy streets of Zamoskvorechye will never leave you indifferent. This district has a long and vivid history and is full of old baroque houses along with Stalinist buildings. It includes three theatres, three museums and sixteen churches.
Back in the 18 th century Zamoskvorechye was known as a quiet, country-like land of single-storey houses and conservative businessmen. It remained country-like and is much more filled with business than before, as this area is just right in the city centre.
