London destination guide

Explore London in a long weekend

Few cities let you cram as much activity into a short space of time as London does. With world-class museums, galleries and attractions, including Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace, you can easily spend a few days soaking up the view; or unwind with a stroll in Regent’s Park or a boat ride on the Thames – your long weekend can be as active or as relaxing as you like.

Hit the shops along Oxford Street; browse through iconic department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges; or sample the exciting food scene at some of the capital's coolest restaurants, bars and nightspots. The West End theater scene is legendary, with an assortment of famous musicals and celebrity-studded new plays, or you can catch everything from live music and comedy to ballet and opera. There's no shortage of things to see and do in London, and you'll come back from even a short trip feeling like you've seen the world!

A short trip to Manchester

Edgy, vibrant and effortlessly cool, Manchester has more than earned its nickname of "Capital of the North." Known for its red-brick Victorian architecture and cutting-edge music scene, this former industrial city is a fabulous destination for a long weekend break, with a refreshing mix of culture, shopping, history and nightlife, all served with a laid-back vibe.

Check out the evocative exhibits at the Imperial War Museum North; admire the neo-Gothic splendor of the historic Town Hall and John Rylands Library; and view the works of Salford artist L.S. Lowry at The Lowry gallery, before grabbing a bite to eat along the famous Curry Mile. Sports fans can try to catch the local soccer teams Manchester United and Manchester City in action, while keen shoppers can hunt for everything from designer buys to quirky vintage finds in the city's diverse stores and markets. Manchester is also renowned for its nightlife, so try to catch a live gig and check out the thriving bars and clubs in The Village for maximum fun during your weekend trip.

Edinburgh destination guide

Experience a weekend in Edinburgh

As Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh is packed with history and culture – more than enough to keep you entertained during a long weekend trip. Start with a visit to Edinburgh Castle, perched on a cliff overlooking the city; then wind your way through the cobbled streets of the Old and New Towns, which together are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Soak up some culture at the Scottish National Gallery, then try out your sea legs on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Feeling brave? Join an underground ghost tour in Edinburgh's haunted vaults – then warm up with a whisky in a cosy bar on the Royal Mile to settle your nerves.

History buffs can drop by Holyrood Palace, the Queen's official residence in Scotland, or check out the extensive exhibits in the National Museum of Scotland. Browse for local artwork and crafts in quirky independent shops and galleries, and enjoy a meal in one of the city's outstanding pubs and restaurants. Go for a relaxing stroll in the Princes Street Gardens, or get a taste of the Scottish outdoors with a climb up Arthur's Seat – even a short vacation in Edinburgh is enough to leave you feeling on top of the world.

A short break in Glasgow

As boisterous and fun as it is smart and sophisticated, Glasgow is a city with plenty to offer even on a short trip. If you're fond of shopping and nightlife, few UK cities can rival this Scottish metropolis; and it's also a brilliant destination for those who love museums, galleries and historic attractions. Whether you're looking for a lively party weekend in Glasgow's legendary clubs and bars, or a relaxing cultural break in this relaxed riverside city, even a short visit to Glasgow is sure to be packed with activity.

Start your visit with a tour of the world-class Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, or peruse the stunning Burrell Collection. Spot the influence of designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh in buildings throughout the city, from the iconic Glasgow School of Art to the House for an Art Lover, before exploring the Botanic Gardens or strolling along the River Clyde. Get in some retail therapy in the stores along Buchanan Street, and dip into the city's exciting culinary offerings before catching a gig at one of Glasgow's vibrant live music venues – the city is renowned for its arts scene. Whatever your interests, a long weekend in Glasgow is sure to leave you feeling invigorated.

Rotorua, New Zealand

There’s more to New Zealand than Lord of the Rings tours and the capital city of Wellington. Head to the southern shore of the North Island and visit Rotorua, a city renowned for geothermal activity – think steaming geysers and bubbling mud pools – and indigenous Māori culture. Named after the lake its set on, Rotorua has spectacular hot springs (check out the Wai-O-Tapu sacred waters) while fans of water sports can try the exhilarating whitewater sledging on Kaituna River or ride a craft down the crater lakes.

Rotorua is also a great place to learn about Māori culture, the indigenous people of New Zealand also known as Aotearoa. Visit Whakarewarewa – the only living Māori village in the country – and Tamaki Māori Village where visitors can enjoy traditional hāngi feasts (steam cooked banquets) that’s only a short drive from the city.

Valkenburg, Netherlands

Just over two hours away from Amsterdam lies Valkenburg, a city in the province of Limburg that is just as pretty in the summer as it is in winter. With the famous marlstone caves, some of which date back to the Middle Ages, the South Limburg Steam Train and the Valkenburg Castle ruins, the country's only castle built on a hill.

The most popular time to visit is during the Christmas holidays thanks to its famous underground market with stalls selling waffles smothered in melted chocolate alongside miniature villages and local treats. Above ground the entire town becomes a winter wonderland covered with numerous events for all ages to enjoy.

Beppu, Japan

With water-centric travel likely to become one of the year’s hottest trends, the spa resort in the city of Beppu is worth considering for a visit. Located along the southern coast of Kyushu Island, the ‘Onsen Capital of Japan’ has more natural hot springs than anywhere else in the country and is perfect for visitors wanting to immerse themselves into Japanese bathing culture.

Other things to do include the ‘Hells of Beppu’, a collection of eight geothermal springs, and Mount Tsurumi, a volcanic mountain accessible via the Beppu Ropeway that has panoramic views from the top.

Portland, Oregon, United States

Celebrated as one of the greenest cities in America, Portland embraces nature and its quirky local culture in equal measure. The biggest city in Oregon has embraced cutting-edge sustainable architecture like the Natural Capital Center, which has floors made entirely of recycled rubber tires, and boasts zero waste markets and eco-friendly cafes with delicious coffee and treats.

Find out why it’s known as the ‘City of Roses’ with a visit to the International Rose Test Garden, take advantage of the cycling lanes and visit the many parks and leafy gardens, and don’t forget to take a tour of the Colombia River Gorge to see the stunning waterfalls that flow nearly a mile deep.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Foodies looking for fresh culinary experiences need look no further than Argentina’s cosmopolitan capital city. From new Michelin-star restaurants serving local faves with a modern twist to street food markets and trendy bakeries, Buenos Aires is fast becoming the international destination of choice for foodies.

Head to La Boca or El Caminito for steak cooked on a traditional open-fire grill, taste the moreish dulce de leche alongside other traditional dishes. Of course, there’s lots more to do and see in the capital including the century old El Ateneo Grand Splendid (a grand theatre turned into a book shop), the street museum of El Caminito, and the many tango clubs and classes.

The Sailing Club levels are Sea-Blazers and Sea-Rovers.

Sea-Blazers

How to earn: Sea-Blazers earned status by sailing once during 2021.

How to earn: Sea-Rovers earned status by sailing twice between Jan. 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2023.

Best benefits: Deep Blue Extras through 2024.

For those who missed those dates, the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club will announce new ways to join at some point in 2024.

Deep Blue Extras

If you're a Sea-Blazer or a Sea-Rover, you're entitled to perks called Deep Blue Extras. This includes expedited boarding, a $100 bar tab credit, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, dedicated sailor services, an exclusive cocktail event, laundry service and a $10 daily specialty coffee credit per cabin.

Virgin Voyages offers free Wi-Fi to all travelers as part of its package. However, those with elite status who qualify for Deep Blue Extras are eligible for complimentary premium Wi-Fi, as well as those staying in select suites.

Virgin Voyages cruises are more inclusive than those at many other cruise lines. The cruise cost includes traditional and speciality dining, juice, soda, Wi-Fi, gratuities and group fitness classes. You’ll still need to pay for alcohol that you drink.

Virgin Voyages doesn’t offer any all-inclusive drink packages. Instead, you have the option of purchasing a bar tab up to 24 hours before sailing or paying per drink on board. If you have Sailing Club elite status, you’ll be eligible for a $100 bar tab credit. Certain promotions also offer onboard credits with the purchase of a bar tab.

No, Virgin Voyages doesn't require any COVID test or vaccine to board.

Unlike many other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages is available exclusively to adults. This means that those under the age of 18 aren't able to board a Virgin Voyages ship.

Virgin Voyages has a few locations from where it sails. In the U.S., it takes off exclusively from its terminal in Miami.

For its Mediterranean cruises, departures are from Barcelona, Spain, or Athens, Greece.

Finally, for cruises in Oceania, cruises can start in Auckland, New Zealand, or Melbourne, Australia.

Note that Virgin Voyages repositions its ships each year, which means there will occasionally be some interesting itineraries as these ships cross oceans. These include sailings with stops in Dubai, Thailand, India, Singapore, Indonesia and more.

New to Virgin Voyages?

The 5 best destinations you can visit on a Virgin Voyages ship

Gene Sloan

Anyone looking for the best Virgin Voyages cruise itinerary will want to start with its sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean.

The three-ship line has focused most of its energy since its debut in 2021 on creating relatively short, fun, adult-focused voyages out of Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the two regions, with two of its vessels spending a significant amount of their time on such itineraries.

For a line with so few ships, that makes sense, as the Bahamas and Caribbean account for the biggest chunk of demand for cruises.

Still, as Virgin Voyages grows — it has a fourth ship on order — it is likely to greatly expand its offerings in other parts of the world.

For more cruise guides, news and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Already, in addition to a year-round presence in the Bahamas and Caribbean, Virgin Voyages has been offering regular sailings in the Mediterranean on a seasonal basis, from spring to fall, with at least one and sometimes two ships. With the arrival of its third ship recently, it also was able to expand its offerings with its first voyages to Australia and New Zealand.

While the latter voyages aren't starting up until the end of 2023, they're already open for bookings.

What are the best Virgin Voyages destinations you can visit and itineraries you can choose? Here are TPG's top five picks.

Short sailings to The Bahamas and Caribbean

virgin travel destinations

Virgin Voyages got its start offering short sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean out of Miami, and that's still the line's biggest cruise destination focus. In fact, one of Virgin Voyages' two vessels currently in operation, the 2,770-passenger Scarlet Lady , does nothing but short sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean out of Miami.

In all cases, these sailings include a stop in the Bahamas. Some then add a Caribbean stop, while others add a stop in Florida.

Related: I've been on more than 150 cruise ships; here's why Scarlet Lady surprised me

Specifically, Scarlet Lady offers four different four- and five-night Bahamas itineraries out of Miami year-round. All include a stop at Bimini in the Bahamas, where the line has a private beach club , as well as a single call in either Mexico, the Dominican Republic or Key West, Florida. The four itineraries are:

  • Fire and Sunset Soirees itinerary: a four-night cruise to Bimini and Key West, plus one sea day
  • Riviera Maya itinerary: a five-night cruise to Bimini and Cozumel, Mexico, plus two sea days
  • Dominican Haze itinerary: a five-night cruise to Bimini and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, plus two sea days
  • Mayan Sol itinerary: a five-night cruise to Bimini and Costa Maya, Mexico, plus two sea days

In keeping with its "time to let loose" adults-only vibe, Virgin Voyages has built relatively late stays into several of the port calls on these itineraries, allowing passengers to maximize their fun time ashore. The typical stay at Bimini — where the line holds DJ-led pool parties at its private beach club late into the day — extends until 8 p.m., which is later than most ships stay at Bahamian ports. Visits to Cozumel, Mexico, also extend to 8 p.m.

Scarlet Lady has operated these sailings since it debuted as Virgin's first vessel in 2021, and it'll continue rotating through the itineraries until May 2024. At that point, Scarlet Lady's nearly identical sister vessel, the 2,770-passenger Valiant Lady, will take over these Bahamas and Caribbean routes.

Longer sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean

virgin travel destinations

Initially, Virgin Voyages only offered shorter sailings of five or fewer nights to the Bahamas and Caribbean. But its list of itineraries in the regions is now peppered with longer voyages of six to eight nights.

These are sailings that stop in more distant Caribbean destinations such as St. Croix and Roatan, Honduras, and will appeal to cruisers who find trips of just four or five days too short.

Related: 11 things I loved on Virgin Voyages, and 6 things I kind of hated

For 2024, Virgin is offering four such longer itineraries, two of which are out of Miami and operated by the line's second ship, Valiant Lady , as well as its original vessel, Scarlet Lady:

  • Eastern Caribbean Antilles itinerary: an eight-night cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Croix; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Bimini, plus two sea days
  • Western Caribbean Charm itinerary: a six-night cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Bimini, plus two sea days

The other two longer Caribbean itineraries that Virgin is offering in 2024 are both out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and operated only by Valiant Lady.

  • Sunsets in the Lesser Antilles itinerary: a seven-night cruise to Aruba, Curacao, Martinique and St. Kitts, plus two sea days
  • Southeastern Caribbean Isles itinerary: a seven-night cruise to Tortola, Antigua, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia and Barbados, plus one sea day

Virgin also operates one-off sailings out of Miami around the winter holidays. Typical is a six-night "Valiant Caribbean Holidays" sailing out of Miami on Dec. 20, 2024, visiting Puerto Plata, Nassau and Bimini.

The Mediterranean

virgin travel destinations

Another top destination for Virgin Voyages is the Mediterranean , where the line has been expanding quickly as it adds new ships.

In 2023, Virgin sent its new ship, Resilient Lady, to the Mediterranean through October to join Valiant Lady in the region, doubling up on its Mediterranean departures as compared to 2022. And the line plans a similar two-ship lineup for the Mediterranean again in 2024, when it'll be Scarlet Lady joining Resilient Lady in the region from spring to fall.

The addition of a second ship in the Mediterranean for the summer season has allowed Virgin Voyages to offer seven-night voyages every week during the season out of both Barcelona and Piraeus, Greece (the port for Athens) — a first for the line.

For 2024, Scarlet Lady will be based in Barcelona (taking the place of Valiant Lady), offering two western Mediterranean itineraries that mostly focus on stops in Spain and France. Specifically, one will spend most of its time at the Spanish islands of Mallorca and Ibiza along with stops in Marseille and Cannes in France, while the other features stops in Ibiza; the French island of Corsica; Toulon, France; and the port for Carrara, Italy.

Resilient Lady will continue to be based in Piraeus, alternating between eastern Mediterranean itineraries that focus on the Greek islands and the Croatian coast, respectively.

Related: Don't miss these extra perks with the Virgin Voyages loyalty program

The Greek Islands itinerary, called Greek Island Glow, includes stops at Santorini, Rhodes and Mykonos, as well as a visit to Bodrum, Turkey.

As with Virgin's Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries, its Mediterranean itineraries are specifically designed for fun-seeking travelers looking for a late-night experience.

In the case of the Greek Islands sailings, Resilient Lady's Santorini visit is a day call that continues until 10 p.m. The Mykonos stop on the same sailing is an overnight call, with the ship remaining in port until 2 p.m. on the day after it arrives.

The Croatian coast-focused itinerary, called Adriatic Sea and Greek Gems, also includes several late-night stops. The ship stays in Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia until 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively. A call at Corfu, Greece, lasts until 9 p.m.

Australia and New Zealand

virgin travel destinations

The first Virgin Voyages sailings to Australia and New Zealand on the line's new Resilient Lady will begin this winter. After its initial summer cruising in the Mediterranean, the vessel will reposition to Australia in December for a series of 11 sailings ranging from five to 14 nights.

Among them will be round-trip sailings out of Melbourne, Australia, as well as one-way trips between Melbourne and Auckland, New Zealand. Itineraries include:

  • Aussie MerMaiden: a five-night cruise out of Melbourne with stops at Hobart and Burnie in Tasmania, plus one sea day
  • Resilient New Year's Pacific Ahoy: a 14-night cruise from Melbourne to Auckland with stops at Hobart and Burnie in Tasmania; Sydney; and Tauranga, Napier and Picton in New Zealand, as well as five sea days
  • Tasman Sea, Fjords and Maori Shores: an 11-night cruise from Auckland to Melbourne with stops at Tauranga, Dunedin and Christ Church in New Zealand, and Hobart and Burnie in Tasmania, plus four sea days

A pair of one-way, 15-night trips between Singapore and Australia will bookend the Australia and New Zealand sailings. Scheduled for November 2023 and March 2024, the two sailings offer overnight stays in Bali and calls at Airlie Beach, Cairns and Darwin in Australia.

Transatlantic

virgin travel destinations

The expansion of Virgin Voyages sailings in the Bahamas and Caribbean this year meant the line could send more ships back and forth between Europe and North America than in the past. That's created an expanded lineup of so-called "repositioning" cruises across the Atlantic that feature many sea days.

Among the transatlantic sailings on the line's schedule for 2024 are:

  • A 14-night voyage from Miami to Barcelona departing April 21, 2024, that includes 10 sea days plus stops at Madeira, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca. The voyage will take place on Scarlet Lady.
  • A 16-night voyage from Civitavecchia (the port for Rome) to Miami departing Nov. 28, 2024, that includes 11 sea days plus stops at Barcelona, Malaga, Madeira and Santa Cruz in the Canary Islands. The voyage also will take place on Scarlet Lady.

Bottom line

Virgin Voyages is still a relatively small line with just three ships, and that means it can't offer too big a range of itineraries. But with at least one more vessel joining its fleet over the coming year, its destination offerings are growing.

The brand has the broadest array of options in the Bahamas and Caribbean, where it got its start, and is rapidly expanding in Europe. Sailings in Australia and New Zealand are just beginning this coming winter.

U.S. Virgin Islands   Travel Guide

Why Go To U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands are "America's Caribbean Paradise" – the place to see moko jumbies (stilt walkers) dance at a Carnival parade, hear the lilting patois of a Creole dialect or smell the spices in a saltfish pate (all without losing cell phone reception). You can visit either St. Thomas, St. John or St. Croix, or better yet, spend a little time on all three islands. That way you'll get plenty of pampering, undisturbed nature and colonial history jammed into one vacation.

Each island offers something different. Called "Rock City" for its hilly, craggy horizon, St. Thomas is known for luxury – from the megayachts moored in the harbor to the high-end storefronts along Main Street. Located a short ferry ride east, St. John appeals to honeymooners and nature lovers, with more than 7,000 acres of dedicated parkland , along with pristine beaches. Way down south in the Caribbean Sea, St. Croix allows visitors to explore the islands' colonial heritage and the history of slavery at several different forts and plantations. Plus, it's on this island that you'll find the Cruzan Rum Distillery.

A visit to the islands now may look a little different than it did several years ago. Hurricanes Maria and Irma devastated the islands, leaving homes and hotels either uninhabitable or severely damaged. However, since 2017 the region has taken great strides in restoring itself and is happily welcoming visitors once again. So, if you're in need of a beachy vacation, don't hesitate to book your trip.

U.S. Virgin Islands Travel Tips

Best months to visit.

The best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands is April to June, when you can expect mild weather and very little rainfall. In the USVI's peak season, from December to March, the temperature ranges from the mid-70s to high 80s with breezy evenings. July to October is the region's hurricane season with average temps in the upper 80s.

Weather in U.S. Virgin Islands

Data sourced from the National Climatic Data Center

What You Need to Know

Learn the proper greeting  Say "good morning," "good afternoon" and "good night" to locals when you enter or exit a room. They consider these phrases friendlier greetings than "hello."

You're in the island sun  Take it easy your first day on the islands to avoid heat stroke. And always apply sunscreen before venturing out.

You need special sunscreen In March 2020, the U.S. Virgin Islands banned the use and possession of sunscreen that contains oxybenzone, octinoxate and octocrylene to protect its prized ecosystem. Sunscreens labeled "reef safe" are likely free of these three ingredients, but always check the label to be sure.

You'll see island critters  Lizards and medium-sized iguanas roam freely outdoors.

How to Save Money in U.S. Virgin Islands

Book early It's possible to secure a good deal at one of the USVI's four-star hotels in the peak season, but you should start looking for a room up to a year in advance.

Visit in spring April and May hotel rates are lower, plus you'll get your Caribbean vacation in before the sticky, wet summer.

Take an Eastern Caribbean cruise St. Thomas is one of the busiest ports in the Caribbean, and the top cruises generally dock for up to eight hours. That'll give you time to explore Rock City or even take a ferry to St. John.

Culture & Customs

Similar to the residents of other Caribbean islands, Virgin Islanders dress casually but conservatively. Wearing a bathing suit — or even sandals — anywhere besides the beach marks you as a tourist.

Since these islands are territories of the United States, their currency is the U.S. dollar. Overall, tipping etiquette is the same in the Virgin Islands as in other parts of the United States; 15 to 20% is considered the standard, but more is appreciated for exceptional service.

What to Eat

The U.S. Virgin Islands offer an assortment of restaurant options that range from white tablecloth establishments to affordable diners and fast-food joints. For a tasty meal on St. Thomas, head to restaurants in Frenchtown or Red Hook. On St. John, Cruz Bay is the place to be. There are also a handful of suitable options on St. Croix's West End.

Most restaurants in those areas will give you the coddling tourist experience, but you might also find the opportunity to try a local dish. Look for menu options like pate (ground beef, chicken or salted cod wrapped and deep-fried in dough), johnnycake (deep-fried dough), fungi (corn meal) or peas and rice (kidney beans or lentils with brown rice) to eat like a Virgin Islander.

St. Thomas is a major commercial hub and a very busy cruise port, and therefore susceptible to tourist-targeted crime. Additionally, there is a presence of violent crime on this island, though you'll see fewer violent crimes on St. Croix and St. John. Take a taxi if possible, and if you have a rental car, keep it locked. Limit your travels at night – particularly in Charlotte Amalie, Christiansted and Frederiksted – and don't travel alone.

You should also safeguard your skin. The heat in the Caribbean can certainly be luxurious, but also scorching. Always remember to apply sunscreen before venturing out and reapply frequently if you'll be outside all day. (Know, too, that the U.S. Virgin Islands has banned sunscreen that contains oxybenzone, octinoxate and octocrylene.) Use insect repellent in the evenings when the islands' "no-see-ums" (tiny gnats) like to bite.

Getting Around U.S. Virgin Islands

The best way to get around any U.S. Virgin Island is in a car – either your own rental or a taxi. You can rent a car at or nearby one of the islands' two airports: the Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on St. Croix. Ferries from St. Thomas are the most efficient way of getting to St. John (which has no airport) or even the British Virgin Islands .

Taking a cruise is also a popular way to travel to the Virgin Islands – in fact, St. Thomas is one of the busiest cruise ports in the Caribbean. Although its port is less busy, you can also take a cruise to St. Croix. Popular lines to visit both islands include Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean .

Entry & Exit Requirements

Although a passport is not required to travel between the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands, you must bring a passport if you're planning to visit the British Virgin Islands during your stay. Visit the U.S. State Department's website for more information on entry and exit requirements.

During your visit to Virgin Islands National Park , you'll see a variety of plant life.

Virgin Voyages Hints at a New Ship and U.S. Destinations — Including NYC

Where Could Virgin Voyages New Ship Set Sail?

In typical cheeky Virgin style, Virgin Voyages has posted a series of videos on Instagram, teasing cruise-lovers with snippets of a new ship and new North American destinations.

Hundreds of the cruise line’s fans have commented on Virgin Voyages’ Instagram post, guessing destinations such as Alaska, New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle, among just a few.

Until the official announcement goes live at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday May 1, 2024 , here’s what we know so far.

Virgin Voyages’ Instagram Reels show snippets of New York taxis, the Manhattan skyline, and the Statue of Liberty, which means we can say with near certainty that New York will be added as a destination for Virgin Voyages .

Virgin left other clues regarding its potential new destinations on its Instagram account. We think we have a pretty good guess as to where the line is heading next, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure.

Who knows, maybe a cruise will sail the entire West Coast from San Diego or Los Angeles all the way north to Alaska via Canada. Now, that would be epic.

Check out what it’s like to take a trip on a Virgin Voyages Cruise . You never know, it might just inspire you to set sail yourself!

The Costa Maya, Cozumel/Playa del Carmen, and Miami are the only 3 North American destinations on Virgin Voyages map as of today.

Virgin Voyages destination map

Miami acts as the main jump-off point for most itineraries that take in the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean and Mexico.

You can book Virgin Voyages cruise using Virgin Red points — the same points currency that Virgin Atlantic uses.

Virgin Voyages is about to announce a slew of new destinations. Not only that, but there’ll also be a new Virgin Voyages ship to grace our seas very soon!

What are your guesses? We’ll be back tomorrow with an update as soon as the new destinations are revealed!

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas is the premier USVI destination for guests seeking a luxury island experience. Wellness lovers will appreciate the property’s tennis court, fitness center and Ritz-Carlton Spa. If lounging by the pool is more your style, this hotel has a brand new family pool with a waterslide and—the crown jewel—an adults-only, 125-foot infinity edge pool that’s the stuff of tropical vacation dreams. For more adventurous travelers, head to the beach for everything from kayaking and snorkeling to a luxury sailing excursion via the Lady Lynsey II. You can enjoy plenty of gourmet food and beverages aboard the catamaran or back at the hotel, where a diverse selection of restaurants awaits (our favorite being Alloro, the resident Sicilian eatery that’s guaranteed to have guests dreaming of Italy).
