La Adictiva: Road trip, tour dates before arriving at Vive Latino

Originally from the town of Mesillas Concordia, Sinaloa, the Banda San José de Mesillas, La Adictiva began their musical career on March 19, 1990 and when they are about to turn 34 years on stage, they started their Road Trip tour in Los Angeles with their sights set on in México and presentations in Central and South America in the coming years. On the occasion of this musical journey, Isaac Salas and Jerry Corrales spoke with Publimetro backstage at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Today we are in Los Angeles for the presentation, and this is the prelude to Vive Latino, which is something very important, right?

”This time we are here in Los Angeles, California, we are happy to be in the YouTube Theater , a new venue. It is the first time we come to this theater, and we are proud to be back in Los Angeles, California, with our audience and with all the people who have supported us from the beginning. We feel very satisfied to be here with our Latin audience, who joins more and more every day with what we call La Adictiva, including our brothers from Central America, South America and even Spain , blessed God, reaching hearts more and more every day. Tonight will not be the exception; It will be a night full of feeling, eager to get on stage.

And this square is very strong. Now California is very important for the groups.

”California is a fundamental part of the world artistic panorama, both in film and music. Although English-language music often stands out, the rise of the Latin genre, especially banda and regional Mexican music, makes it an important musical epicenter for all of us. All places are important, like México City and Spain, but many of these influences are concentrated here.

What are we going to see at Vive Latino? Do you already have something planned?

We have many ideas. We hope to offer a great presentation and reach the hearts of that audience, who have different tastes than ours. We know you can appreciate regional Mexican music, so we are eager to be at the Live latino . We have many surprises prepared, but we cannot reveal them, since we want to maintain the excitement. I think we’ll see some rockers performing our songs.

There have also been changes in vocalists. How have they evolved?

”Everything in this group has been a positive evolution. In the almost 13 years that I have been here, from when I joined until today, everything has moved forward. We have never gone backwards in any area; We even learn from mistakes. It has been a great process of growth and reinvention. Now, with what we have to date, we are experiencing one of the best stages of La Adictiva. We have a completely renewed show, with professionals at our side, people who help us a lot. There are many people behind the scenes, in the office and in the studios. We are the face on stage and in interviews, but there are people who prepare us to give our best. It is something that is defining us.

For you, is success a matter of luck?

No, I think. Success is a matter of discipline. Luck does not exist in itself. Discipline, perseverance and passion for what you do are essential. All of this leads to success. I have a phrase that I like: If it happens in your mind, it happens in your life. It is not enough to think of a sports car; You must apply yourself, be disciplined, persevere and have passion to achieve success and what you propose in your life and career. I believe that success is based on various values, not luck. There I do share that idea. We are also going to try to meet some expectations in South America. We know that our audience likes banda music in South America, especially in Ecuador, Colombia, Nicaragua and Chile. Our music is gaining importance in those places.

You commented a few moments ago on the topic of collaborations. In a time when they are super important, how do you choose the artists you collaborate with?

”I have always said that he There is strength in unity, and I think now it is up to the Mexican regional team. Before, there was a type of ego and work jealousy, but managers realized that that didn’t work. Unity is strength, and that is what is leading Mexican music to become international. We have learned from other genres, such as reggaeton and trap, which merge a lot. Being more collaborative and united has helped us internationalize Mexican music.

Tell me a little about that collaboration with Marca Registrada.

We recorded a song a few months ago that Fidel, the leader of Marca Registrada, and Montana, an exponent of the corridos tumbados, liked. The song is called Bandida and is dedicated to the women who steal hearts. We made it with love and I think our audience will really like it, especially women. Latin music is growing, and it’s exciting to be a part of it.

Last week he won the Featherweight Grammy. How do you perceive the impact of corridos tumbados on regional Mexican music?

These artists, colleagues who lead this movement, influence us all. We can all take advantage of it, even those of us who are still part of the Mexican regional. Latin music is reaching places it couldn’t before. I think it has worked, and we are adopting those strategies as well. We have merged with other genres, collaborating with artists like Yuri, RÃo Roma and Ricardo Montaner. They are satisfying experiences because we admire these artists and enjoy their music.

And right now, what is your goal or objective, right?

”Well, get to the Grammy. Well, winning the Latin Grammy. We have been nominated, but, well, now let’s wait. Also bring us the prize of ours. To be honest, we all always have very high expectations. First of all, I don’t know if I can fly before I can walk. It is important to always emphasize that we have to go from less to more, because sometimes when things happen, for example, you have not had the opportunity to experience and savor other things. before dessert, which is when the food tastes bitter, sometimes. I tell you, personally, yes I would like to win the Lo Nuestro Award then a Latin Grammy, to be recognized in this way, why not a International Grammy ? And above all, the global recognition of our music, that people around the world say, wow, La Adictiva, is going to have a world tour where she will be able to take her music everywhere. That’s where I say we would be a fully established group.

And what would we like to collaborate with?

”Híjole, well there are many colleagues and many artists that we would like to collaborate with. It’s not for nothing, but I would like to collaborate with some Pesp Pluma, right?
