Burna Boy announces I Told Them... North America tour dates

The shows behind the nigerian star’s newest album run from fall 2023 to winter 2024..

Burna Boy is heading to North America on the heels of his new album I Told Them… for a run of tour dates. The shows begin November 2023 in Los Angeles at BMO Stadium and run for a month with stops in Seattle, Vancouver, Edmonton, Denver, Houston, and Austin. After a two-month break, the tour will begin again in late February 2024 for more concerts in the United States and Canada, bringing the total number of shows to 16. Tickets go on sale today (September 26) for a presale exclusive to Citibank customers. After a handful of additional presales, general ticket sales start Friday, September 29 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Burna Boy is headed out on a North American tour in support of his latest album, I Told Them… , in late 2023 and early 2024.

The 16-city “I Told Them… Tour” kicks off on November 3rd in Los Angeles and will see the Nigerian superstar stop in Houston, Chicago, Toronto, and more before closing out in Hollywood, FL on March 12th. See the full schedule below.

Burna Boy Follows Up Madison Square Garden Debut With ‘Love, Damini’ Summer 2022 Tour

Following up his historic debut at Madison Square Garden , Nigerian star Burna Boy is hitting the road for his newly-announced Love, Damini tour , scheduled to take place this summer.

The brief stretch of dates will kick off with the Bridgetown festival in Barbados on July 17 and span through July 31, where Burna Boy will wrap with a performance at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. Stops in between include appearances in Detroit, Minneapolis, Chicago, Houston, Boston, and more.

General sale for the Love, Damini tour begins Friday, May 20 at 12 p.m. local time via Burna Boy’s official One Space Ship website.

The tour is set to kick off shortly after the release of Love, Damini, the six studio album from Burna Boy, which is due out on July 2. The news of the project arrived during the artist’s sold-out headlining show at MSG where he became the first Nigerian musician to lead a show at the iconic venue. The record is preceded by the recently shared single “Last Last,” which samples Toni Braxton’s 2000 R&B hit “He Wasn’t Man Enough” with production from Chopstix.

“It’s like I’m better at [performing] than making music. And that says a lot because I’m really good at making music,” Burna Boy recently told Billboard . “You see how with Christ, there’s B.C. and A.D.? I feel like that’s how it is for me with performing. There’s going to be a ‘Before Burna Came’ and ‘After Burna’s Death’ time period in the performing arts world. That’s my legacy.”

Shortly after releasing the highly anticipated visual for fan favorite, “ City Boys ”,  Nigerian artist Burna Boy has returned to announce his I Told Them… Tour . Produced by Live Nation, the 16-city tour kicks off on November 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, marking Burna Boy’s first ever Los Angeles stadium performance, then making stops across North America. in Houston, Chicago, Toronto and more before wrapping up in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on March 9.

This past July, the African Giant brought his GRAMMY® Award-winning music to a sold-out show at Citi Field in NYC, making him the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium in the U.S commanding a crowd of more than 40,000 fans including celebrities like Busta Rhymes , SZA, NBA star Mo Bamba , NFL Star Larry Ogunjobi and British rapper Dave who also joined Burna on stage for a performance of their hit song “Location.”

This history-making performance shortly followed after his landmark London Stadium performance where he became the first African to headline a stadium in the U.K. and his Madison Square Garden performance where he became the first Nigerian artist to sell out MSG.

The global giant once again made history with his recently released album I TOLD THEM… after it debuted at #1 on the official U.K. Albums chart becoming the first international African artist to earn the title. Shortly after releasing the highly anticipated visual for fan favorite, “ City Boys ”,  Nigerian artist Burna Boy has returned to announce his I Told Them… Tour . Produced by Live Nation, the 16-city tour kicks off on November 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, marking Burna Boy’s first ever Los Angeles stadium performance, then making stops across the U.S. in Houston, Chicago, Toronto and more before wrapping up in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on March 9.

This past July, the African Giant brought his GRAMMY® Award-winning music to a sold-out show at Citi Field in NYC, making him the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium in the U.S commanding a crowd of more than 40,000 fans including celebrities like Busta Rhymes , SZA, NBA star Mo Bamba , NFL Star Larry Ogunjobi and British rapper Dave who also joined Burna on stage for a performance of their hit song “Location.”

This history-making performance shortly followed after his landmark London Stadium performance where he became the first African to headline a stadium in the U.K. and his Madison Square Garden performance where he became the first Nigerian artist to sell out MSG.

What is AXS Mobile ID?

With mobile ticketing through AXS, you’re able to keep your tickets securely stored in your AXS App until it’s time for your event and enter with a quick and simple scan. Easy!

How do I get the AXS App?

The AXS App is free to download and available in the App Store or Google Play. To login, use the same email address you used when purchasing your tickets. You can also download the Houston Rockets app to enter Toyota Center for events. 

How do I use the AXS App to enter the building?

• Open the AXS App
• From the “Home” screen tap the ticket icon at the bottom of the screen
• Login to your account entering the email address used to purchase the tickets
• (If you can’t remember your password, tap Forgot Password and follow the instructions sent to your email)
• Browse your upcoming events and tap the one you want to view
• Tap “View Barcode” and present QR code at the door to be scanned for entry to Toyota Center

How do I access my Parking pass?

Your parking pass for the Toyota Tundra garage will load like a ticket with a barcode to be scanned as you enter the garage.

Can I print my tickets?

AXS Mobile ID tickets are digital and cannot be printed for venue entry.

Are screenshots of the barcode valid for entry?

No, tickets must be scanned through the AXS App.

Can I have multiple tickets on one phone?

Yes. However, we recommend that you transfer tickets to each person attending the event.

What if I don’t have a smartphone?

Please bring a valid photo ID and the card you used to purchase the tickets to the Toyota Center box office.

How far in advance can I access my tickets?

Unless otherwise noted, tickets are accessible on the AXS app and ready to manage as soon as the purchase is complete. Ability to transfer and/or sell tickets varies by show and is subject to change.

What should I bring to an event?

• The card you used to purchase your tickets

What if I need help on an event day?

Please visit the Toyota Center Box Office where one of our ticket resolutions associates will assist you.

How do I transfer tickets?

Transferring tickets allows you to send tickets electronically to anyone with a valid email address. Once the recipient logs in and accepts the tickets, they will be able to view the barcode.

• Tap the ticket icon at the bottom of the screen
• Tap "Transfer"
• Enter the recipients first & last name followed by their email address
• Tap 'Continue'
• Review the information and tap 'Transfer'

The recipient will receive an email with a link to download the AXS app and retrieve their tickets.

What is the venue Bag Policy?

Toyota Center encourages fans to travel light and not bring bags. Bags that are 5.5” x 8.5” or smaller will be screened through an expedited visual process. Bags that are larger than 5.5” x 8.5” but smaller than 14”x14” x 6” will be scanned through additional screening process and/or x-ray machines that will likely require a longer wait. Medical bags and parenting bags are permitted and are the only bags larger than 14” x 14” x 6” that will be allowed. Toyota Center does not allow any backpacks inside the building or any bags that are shaped like a backpack. This policy is subject to change at any time.

Guests travelling to London Stadium can do so by using any of the following services:

– 388 runs between Blackfriars and Stratford City, and is central London’s service to Stratford travelling through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, stopping at the Copper Box Arena and Westfield Avenue near the London Aquatics Centre. – 308 Clapton and Wanstead service stops at Stratford City near the station entrance, as well as Celebration Avenue in East Village. – 339 moves passengers between Leytonstone and Shadwell. This service stops at Stratford City, near the station entrance, as well as the London Aquatics Centre on Carpenters Road at King ’s Yard, before exiting the Park at White Post Lane. – D8 moves people between Crossharbour and Stratford International. This service travels through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including stops at Carpenters Road and Pool Street, which is next to the London Aquatics Centre.

Stratford and Stratford City bus stations are both located in close proximity to Stratford station itself. The following services run to these stations:

Cyclists can make use of the London Cycle Superhighway, extending from central London (Aldgate) to Stratford City. View the full route here.

Cyclists taking advantage of the London Cycle Hire Scheme (Santander Bikes) can access an extensive network of docking points for London ’s cycle hire scheme, making it even easier to access the Park on two wheels.

There are eight docking stations spread across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park alone. With those closest to London Stadium being:

– Copper Box Arena – London Aquatics Centre – Monier Road – The Podium – Stratford Station

We ’d advise all of our visitors to think seriously about how they make their journeys, especially with customers able to take advantage of the extensive public transport network servicing London Stadium. There will also be road closures active around the venue active during event days to allow fans to arrive and leave the venue quickly and safely

The closest car parks to London Stadium are situated at  Stratford Westfield . For more information regarding accessibility and Blue Badge parking,  find out more here…

For those wishing to take to travel by motorbike, the closest parking to London Stadium is situated in   Stratford International  and   Stratford Westfield

For visitors wishing to travel via taxi, black cabs are available from the taxi rank in Montfichet Road, situated outside the Northern Ticket Hall at Stratford station (near Starbucks on the Lower Ground Floor). For your return journey, black cabs can be found at a temporary rank at Pool Street.

Again, please note that roads are subject to closures on event days, and we’d recommend all visitors plan journeys accordingly.

London Stadium is easily accessible to visitors travelling from further afield, with the following travel plans recommended to guests. The final leg walk to London Stadium from Stratford and Stratford International stations is approximately 20 minutes.

From London Heathrow (approximately an hour and 40 minutes travel time)

– Take the Piccadilly line to King’s Cross St Pancras

– Walk to St Pancras International station (five minutes)

– Take the Southeastern train service to Stratford International

– Walk to London Stadium

From London Gatwick (approximately an hour and 20 minutes travel time)

– Take the Thameslink train to St Pancras International

– Then board the Southeastern train service to Stratford International

From London Luton (approximately an hour and 20 minutes travel time)

– Take the Luton Airport shuttle bus, or 888 bus service to Luton train station

– Take the Thameslink service to St Pancras International

– Then take the Southeastern service to Stratford International

From London Stansted (approximately an hour travel time)

– Take one of the regular coach services to Stratford

– Then walk to London Stadium

From London City Airport (approximately 40 minutes travel time)

– Take the DLR service to Stratford

From London Southend Airport (approximately an hour and 20 minutes travel time)

– Take the Greater Anglia train service to Stratford

When is the London show date? ‍ The London Stadium show will be on Saturday 29th June 2024. Given Burna’s World-class performances, expect a show to remember, exciting surprises, other exclusive events and parties round the show. General Admission – Platinum Circle Standing – Gold Circle and Pitch Standing – No Under 14s, Under 16s accompanied by an Adult aged 18+ 

Reserved Seats – Under 16s accompanied by an Adult aged 18+, No children 5 and under 

Search And Bag Policies Avoid delays – please don’t bring bags to the venue. All bags will be subject to a search regime. Large bags are not permitted and there are no left luggage facilities. All visitors may be searched – please have your coats open and remove hats at search areas. Some events may have specific search policies.

All turnstile blocks have disabled access doors, and the main concourses are level and step free, with accessible lifts spread across all levels.

Accessible seating is available on each level at London Stadium, including: aisle seats, seats with few or no steps nearby, seating which have nothing directly in front of them, and those closest to toilet facilities.

Numerous rest areas and benches are located across Stadium Island and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. 

Members of staff from West Ham United’s accessibility teams will be on hand and proactive at London Stadium, as well as providing support on key routes in and out of the venue.

Kindly note that if you have your own wheelchair, it will be left in designated areas at the owner’s risk.

Access to box office

Five windows at the West Ham United ticket office are at accessible height for wheelchair users, and use induction loops to support visitors using hearing aids.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome into London Stadium, and can stay in wheelchair bays. Kindly note that any assistance dogs must remain with their owner at all times.

Catering kiosks

All concourse catering units in close proximity to wheelchair-accessible seating areas have been designed to accommodate wheelchair users.

All of London Stadium’s accessible toilets are unisex, and available on all levels close to wheelchair bays. These facilities are larger than standard wheelchair-accessible toilets, and include a height-adjustable changing bencher hoist and room for up to two PAs. London Stadium has three adult changing places facilities, two situated on podium level, and one in the Stadium’s Hospitality area.  Fully accessible toilets & baby changing rooms are also available across London Stadium. Burna Boy is first-ever African artiste to stage highest-grossing arena concert in America

Popularly known as the giant of africa, burna boy has proven himself deserving of the title..

Renowned as the giant of Africa, Burna Boy has etched his name in history. He has shattered barriers and set new standards, becoming the first African artiste to stage the highest-grossing arena concert in America.

Touring Data, an international platform that provides a PDF and spreadsheet with ticket count information for tours in the US and Canada made this news public on X.

Citing different data on its X account, Tour Data said Burna Boy beat his 2022 record after he generated $1.593 million, or just over N2 billion, at his TD Garden in Boston on 2 March.

The Odogwu bagged this one without a contest.

The post read: ‘‘Burna Boy earns the highest-grossing arena concert by an African artist in US history with $1.593 million at TD Garden in Boston on March 2, 2024, surpassing his numbers at Madison Square Garden in 2022.

Similarly, they noted that the singer’s I TOLD THEM tour sold out by large margins in Scotiabank Arena, Montreal and Toronto in Canada, Boston in the US, and Cologne in Germany.

But that’s not all. Still talking numbers, Touring Data said that over 124 706 tickets valued at $93.50 on average were sold at Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ tour. Revenue-wise, $11,659,531, or about N16 billion, was realised via the ticket sales.

I Told Them tour

Shortly after dropping the highly anticipated video for “City Boys”, Burna Boy announced his I Told Them… Tour.

Produced by Live Nation, the 16-city tour kicked off on 3 November at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

It marked Burna Boy’s first-ever performance in a Los Angeles stadium. He toured other American cities, including Houston, Chicago, Toronto, and more, before wrapping up in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on 9 March.

Nine months earlier, the African Giant had a sold-out show at Citi Field, New York, making him the first Nigerian artiste to headline a stadium in America.

BMO stadium’s website said the singer commanded a crowd of more than 40,000 fans, including celebrities like Busta Rhymes, SZA, NBA star Mo Bamba, NFL Star Larry Ogunjobi, and British rapper Dave, who joined him on stage for a performance of his (Burna Boy’s) hit song “Location.”

They said this history-making performance followed his landmark London Stadium performance, where Burna Boy made history as the first African to headline a stadium in the U.K.

With his Madison Square Garden performance, the singer again made history as the first Nigerian musician to sell out The World’s Most Famous Arena.

The global giant once again made history with his recently released album I TOLD THEM… after it debuted at #1 on the official U.K. Albums chart, making him the first international African artiste to earn the title.

Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, started his career with the hit single Like to Party and the album L.I.F.E, “Living an Impact for Eternity,” which dropped on 12 August 2013.

His approach and style of music have been one not to be ignored. His appraisal of a vast genre of music birthed room for the creation of his sound and style, “AFRO FUSION.”

Over the years, the Port Harcourt-born Afro artiste has delivered seven albums of excellent sound, the most recent titled “I TOLD THEM…” released on 25 August 2023

14 American Songs That Burna Boy Has Sampled or Interpolated

Many of Burna's most celebrated songs have borrowed elements from some recognizable U.S. pop, soul and hip-hop favorites.

A common theme in Burna Boy ‘s discography is his expert lifting of R&B, rap and pop records over the years — with a couple of oldies but goodies.

At the 2024 Grammy Awards in February, he performed his Grammy-nominated hit “Sittin’ on Top of the World” with 21 Savage , who’s featured on the remix, and Brandy , whose 26-year-old track “Top of the World” is famously sampled on Burna’s song. The Afro-fusion superstar also notably sampled Toni Braxton ‘s hit “He Wasn’t Man Enough” on his 2022 summer smash “Last Last.” Rodney “Darkchild” Jenkins, Fred Jerkins III and LaShawn Daniels all earned credits on “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and “Last Last” since they co-wrote both “Top of the World” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

Naughty by Nature ‘s 1999 hit “Jamboree” plays a part in not just one Burna record, but two: The Nigerian singer-songwriter borrowed elements from “Collateral Damage” in 2019 and did it again one year later on “Naughty by Nature,” featuring the titular hip-hop trio. Speaking of doubles, the Sauti Sol-featuring “Time Flies” track from 2020 lifts from Sade ‘s 1985 hit “The Sweetest Taboo” and Marc Anthony ‘s 2002 track “I Need You.”

And Burna has an affinity for reworking Michael Jackson ‘s old works, referencing The Jackson 5 ‘s “I Want You Back” on his 2011 track “Ice Cream Man” and “Dirty Diana” on the Chris Martin -assisted “Monsters You Made” in 2020.

Billboard  rounded up 14 American songs that Burna Boy has sampled or interpolated throughout his discography.

Toni Braxton, "He Wasn't Man Enough"

“Last Last” from Burna’s 2022 album Love, Damini samples Toni Braxton’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 smash “He Wasn’t Man Enough” from her third studio album The Heat , which also won the 2001 Grammy award for best female R&B vocal performance (while The Heat was up for best R&B album). The Nigerian hitmaker performed “Last Last” at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards two days after he released the song, which spent 8 weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and also topped Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay . “Last Last” also reached No. 2 on Rhythmic Airplay and World Digital Song Sales .

Jeremih, "Birthday Sex"

“City Boys” from Burna’s 2023 album I Told Them… samples Jeremih ‘s 2009 breakout debut single “Birthday Sex” from his self-titled debut album, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100. “Honestly, I only found out that there was a Jeremih sample like two days ago…. I saw it on the internet, it’s from the internet I realized it was a sample…. When I made the song, I didn’t hear [‘Birthday Sex’] at all,” he told Speedy Morman in an interview last August. “City Boys” was one of the first songs to earn a nod in the new best African music performance category at the Grammys this year, where Burna was up for three more nods.

Brandy feat. Mase, "Top of the World"

“Sittin’ on Top of the World” from Burna’s I Told Them… samples Brandy’s 1998 track “Top of the World,” featuring Mase , from her sophomore album Never Say Never , which was nominated for best R&B album at the 1999 Grammy Awards. The 21 Savage remix of “Sittin’ on Top of the World” earned a Grammy nomination this year for best melodic rap performance, and Burna brought out 21 and Brandy to perform his smash at the awards show, becoming the first Afrobeats artist to do so. The song peaked at No. 80 on the Hot 100 and reached No. 2 on  Rhythmic Airplay .

Fred Wesley and The Horny Horns feat. Maceo Parker, "Four Play"

“Ye” from Burna’s 2018 album Outside samples Fred Wesley and The Horny Horns’ 1977 track “Four Play,” featuring Maceo Parker , from their A Blow For Me, a Toot to You album. The kicking drum pattern from “Four Play” underlines Burna’s memorable anthem, which reached No. 12 on U.S. Afrobeats Songs and No. 26 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

Michael Jackson, "Dirty Diana"

“Monsters You Made,” featuring Chris Martin , from Burna’s 2020 Grammy-winning album Twice as Tall samples Michael Jackson’s Hot 100 No. 1 hit single “Dirty Diana” from his 1987 seventh album Bad . Burna’s record lifts the backing track’s melody, heard on the verse to both songs. The Afro-fusion superstar and Coldplay frontman performed “Monsters You Made” together at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Fabolous feat. Tamia, "Into You"

“Giddem,” from Burna’s Outside, samples Fabolous ‘ 2003 Hot 100 No. 4 hit “Into You,” featuring Tamia, who originally released “So Into You” in 1998 from her self-titled debut album, which samples The Commodores’ 1978 track “Say Yeah.”

Pat Boone, "Twice as Tall"

“Level Up (Twice as Tall),” featuring Youssou N’Dour , from Burna’s Twice as Tall, samples Pat Boone ‘s 1997 track “Twice as Tall” from the Journey to the Center of the Earth soundtrack . “Oh, I’d have to be twice as tall at least/ To feel better than I do/ Yes, I’d have to be twice as tall at least/ I mean me multiplied by two (By two),” Boone sings at the start of “Level Up.”

Minnie Riperton, "Lovin’ You"

“Mary Jane,” from Burna’s 2016 EP Redemption, samples Minnie Riperton’s Hot 100 No. 1 smash “Lovin’ You” from her 1974 sophomore album Perfect Angel . The “Lovin’ you is easy ’cause you’re beautiful” and “And everything that I do is out of lovin’ you” from Riperton’s first verse and “La la la la la, la la la la la” chorus is softly playing throughout “Mary Jane.”

The Jackson 5, "I Want You Back"

“Ice Cream Man” from Burna’s 2011 compilation album Best of Burn Series, Vol. 1 interpolates The Jackson 5’s 1969 Hot 100 chart-topping first single “I Want You Back” from the group’s debut album Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5. The synth chord progression of “Ice Cream Man” mimics the hook of “I Want You Back.”

Naughty by Nature, "Jamboree"

“Naughty by Nature,” featuring Naughty by Nature, from Burna’s Twice as Tall interpolates Naughty by Nature’s Hot 100 top 10 hit “Jamboree,” featuring Zhané, from the group’s 1999 fifth album Nineteen Naughty Nine: Nature’s Fury . “That’s the whole point of why I wanted them on the song. It just had to be done. I got their verses on my birthday, and it came with a video of them saying happy birthday and showing love,” Burna told me during our “The Explosion of Afro-Fusion” panel at Billboard ‘s MusicCon in May 2022.

“Collateral Damage,” from Burna’s 2019 album African Giant also lifts from “Jamboree.” While Burna’s “Naughty by Nature” bore a lot of similarities to “Jamboree,” from its buoyant melody to “jam(boree) for me” chorus line, “Collateral Damage” borrows the groovy guitar line from Naughty by Nature’s anthem.

Enchantment, "Gloria"

“Glory,” featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo , from Burna’s Love, Damini samples Enchantment’s 1976 Hot 100 No. 25 hit “Gloria” from the group’s eponymous debut album. The titular “Gloria” line can be heard at the beginning of Burna’s first verse on “Glory,” and he sings the refrain — “Hold me, ah, this is my story, yes/ Glory, yeah/ Like the last time that you ever seen me, hold me, ah” — in the same style of the opening lines from “Gloria”: “Gloria/ My Gloria/ Things ain’t been the same/ Since you went away/ Gloria/ My Gloria/ I don’t want to see/ Another day.”

Sade, "The Sweetest Taboo"

“Time Flies,” featuring Sauti Sol, from Burna’s Twice As Tall borrows some elements from Sade’s Hot 100 No. 5 single “The Sweetest Taboo” from the band’s 1985 sophomore album Promise . The groovy drum sequence from Sade’s classic can be heard throughout “Time Flies.”

Marc Anthony, "I Need You"

“Time Flies” also interpolates Marc Anthony’s “I Need You,” from his 2002 sixth overall and second English album Mended . Burna sings the chorus — “Let’s take a ride/ Look in your eyes/ No make ‘em tell you lies/ I’m on your side” — in the same style as the hook from “I Need You”: “Oh baby I need you/ For the rest of my life girl I need you/ To make everything right girl/ I love you/ And I’ll never deny that I need you.”

T-Pain, "I'm Sprung"

“Real Life,” featuring Stormzy , from Burna’s Twice As Tall references T-Pain ‘s 2005 breakout debut single “I’m Sprung,” from his debut album Rappa Ternt Sanga , which peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100. The “You do (you do)” bridge of “I’m Sprung” can be heard re-sung throughout “Real Life,” which also loosely borrows the overall melody from T-Pain’s classic.

AS the Hits and Jams Entertainment family ushers in their Genesis Independence Band Launch for the lengthy Independence weekend, they have issued a statement praising Grammy winning Nigerian artiste, Burna Boy, for his exceptional performance at the Guyana National Stadium on May 1, 2024.

The artiste, in a Hits and Jams Entertainment, ENet, and One Guyana collaboration, captivated the Guyanese audience and left a lasting impression in the eyes of the thousands of persons who attended the show.

Burna Boy who is known widely for his dynamic fusion of Afrobeat, dancehall, and reggae music, took centre stage on May 1, and made patrons’ experience truly unforgettable.

The entertainment company stated that, from the moment Burna Boy stepped onto the stage, he delivered a powerhouse performance, performing crowd favourites: “Tested, Approved and Trusted” and “Big Seven” before closing with the soulful “Last Last.”

Even days after the ‘Unforgettable’ show, fans took to social media to rave about his exceptional stage presence and unmatched energy, declaring him one of the best live performers the Guyanese crowd has seen.

The concert featured a dynamic lineup of talented artistes, including Jamaica’s Tanya Stephens, Nigy Boy, Walshy Fire and Busy Signal, and local favourites: Timeka Marshall, AW Lyrical, Zalchemi and BNick.

They remarked that each artiste brought their unique style to the stage, treating the audience to an eclectic mix of Afrobeats, Reggae, Soca, Chutney, R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop.

Following the Unforgettable Concert, Burna Boy took to social media to express his gratitude to the Guyanese audience, promising to return with the words: “I’ll be back Guyana.” The success of the event was made possible with the support of Hits and Jams Entertainment and has set the tone for HJ’s upcoming Genesis Independence Band Launch from May 23-27.

Guyanese can expect more unforgettable performances at the popular El Dorado Stingnettles, which opens the celebrations on May 23, and will feature Kes the Band, Edwin Yearwood, Mical Teja and other soca stars. Stink and Dutty follows on May 24 with an inclusive J’ouvert experiences.

On May 25, the Guyana National Stadium will be transformed for the highly anticipated Magnum Baderation concert, which will see the best in Dancehall live.

Fan favourite, Soca and Wine follows next on May 26 and finally to close out the Independence band launch, the Kabisa Kool Out on May 27.

It was stated that during these events, fans can expect to see Genesis the Band costume options for Cricket Carnival in September.

Burna Boy cancels Netherlands concert, promises tickets refund

Grammy-winning singer  Burna Boy has called off his much-anticipated concert at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium in the Netherlands.

Burna Boy’s concert was set to take place on June 9 but the cancellation comes as a result of the event organisers allegedly not fulfilling their end of the agreement.

The music star broke the news to fans on Instagram.

Burna Boy expressed disappointment over the situation and assured that those who purchased tickets would receive a full refund directly from the original point of sale within the next 30 days.

Burna Boy said: “We regret to inform you that due to a failure by the event organisers to meet their contracted obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th 2024 has been cancelled.

“All ticket buyers will be refunded from the point of purchase within 30 days. Love you and see you soon”.

It never rains but pours for Gregory Wings. The businessman who was making headlines a few months ago after his Burna Boy concert flopped is in the media again.

Mr Wings allegedly got his bodyguard arrested after suspecting that he stole his diamond ring worth R500k. Wings who is heartbroken by the ordeal confirmed the issue to the media and revealed that the man even tried to extort him.

"He tried to use tactics of extortion and blackmail but justice prevailed, thanks to the relentless efforts of the Sandton police station."

Gregory Wings' bodyguard still in jail

Briefly News spoke to a source close to the matter who revealed that the suspect is still locked up in Sandton. The source who cannot be named said Gregory Wings is frustrated by the continued misfortunes he keeps encountering in South Africa.
