So here I would like to talk about a long car journey which I did about 3 months ago. Actually on that time, I went to Delhi with my friends. About 3 months ago, there were my summer vacations. Some of my friends and I decided to go somewhere to visit historical place. After proper discussion, we decided to go to Delhi by car. Delhi is 377.7 km far away from my hometown. So, It was a long journey. We started our journey in morning at 4 o’clock in order to avoid traffic on the way.

Also it helped us to escape us from the scorching heat of sun. We enjoyed pleasant Weather in morning. During this journey, we also visited a beautiful Park on the way. Actually one of my friends suddenly said me to stop the car on the way. Then he told me that he had seen a beautiful Park and he started insisting all friends to go there.

So we visited this Park named “Naveen Park”. Apart from it, during this long car journey, we stopped our car on restaurant named “Dharma Karma Punjabi Restaurant”. There, we ate food according to our own choice. We enjoyed the food service of this restaurant. Moreover, when we were going to Delhi on car, I clicked some pictures of my friends as well as mine to make these moments memorable. We also clicked a group photo. So after 6 hours, we reached Delhi. There, we visited some tourist places such as, red Fort, India Gate, rose garden in president house, food streets and so on. In Delhi, we stayed at Hotel for 2 days.

All in all, it was a memorable long car journey which I enjoyed very much. It filled me with happiness and love. I will never forget this journey during my whole life.

After reaching Mumbai, I did many activities. I saw the villas of Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachan and Shahrukh Khan. After that, I enjoyed the local cuisine and visited numerous worth-seeing places.

Since it was a long journey, I went with my friend so that we could drive alternatively to avoid fatigue.

Last year my brother got a job in Mumbai, and a few days after joining, he realized he needed a car. The reason was the maturity of his career, in which he had to travel places at a distance of about 100 km from Mumbai thrice a week.

He tried to go via public transport, but it consumed a lot of time, so his work output could have been better. He immediately told me to send him the car we had in our hometown via train. I felt good about the journey because of many reasons. Firstly I developed the confidence to drive a car for long hours. Before this journey, I had never driven a car for more than 300 km at a stretch; however, the long drive from Goa to Chandigarh enhanced my confidence considerably.

Apart from this, the journey helped me to see various states of India. I halted at many places to relax and had beyond the conventional domain experience at all those places. Moreover, I spent quality time with my bosom friend Vivek and the beautiful moments I had during the trip will remain etched in my memories.

Three years back I had a long car journey which is worth mentioning.

I went to Mumbai to pick up my brother.

I went there during the peak of the Covid first wave. Due to the stringent lockdown, I could not do anything because all the picnic spots were not in operation. All I did was I picked my brother and went back to my hometown.

Travelling is my favourite avocation and I often explore many locations with my friends. I usually travel by train or a flight, but I like going on a long car journey with friends which I enjoy to the fullest. Last month, we had a few holidays lined up and decided to go on a vacation with my college friends. I travelled from Mysore to Chikamagalur with my friends Mary and Bobby.

Chikamagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, located about 200 kilometres away from Mysore. Since we wanted to catch a glimpse of sunrise, we started our journey at the early hours of the day. We packed all necessary luggage an evening prior and loaded it into the car. We began our journey excitedly as the weather seemed pleasant and there was little traffic on the roads and had a few rest stops in between for refreshments.

We visited a lake and a monastery where we meditated for some time and felt rejuvenated . Later, we hiked the famous mountain Mullayanagiri. We had local food at a restaurant called Ashoka specials which had amazing service and delicious food. We stayed in a resort for the night which had comfortable room facilities and bonfire space for us to sit around and have fun.

We rented a car for two days as the area has a lot of places with eye pleasing sceneries, worth visiting and travelling by local transport is quite difficult. In addition, car journey is comfortable while travelling long distances and is a lot of fun with friends which enables us to sing and laugh without causing disturbance to any others. It was the first time I travelled so far by car that left me with a memorable odyssey .

The basic difference is bicycle runs mechanically and cars need fuel to be driven. Bicycles are cheaper, economical and environment friendly which also act as a form of exercise making people do physical activity. Although cars are expensive, they provide more comfort and a group of four or five can travel using the same vehicle.

4. Why do people like to have private cars?

Personal cars enable people to have their means of transportation which they can use at any given day and time as they please. Besides, it also acts a symbol of high social status. They also give a comfortable experience even when travelling for long hours while carrying more than two people.

5. Is it a good thing that everyone has his/her own cars?

While cars are convenient to have, they possess an inherent risk to the environment as they are fuel powered and emit dangerous gases into the atmosphere contributing to air pollution. Having more cars also increases traffic problems and demand for fuel. So, it is better to limit owning cars to one or two per family to control the adverse effects of having them.

In the crisp autumn of 2022, I embarked on a memorable car journey that began in the vibrant city of Lahore and wound its way up to the fairy-tale landscapes of Hunza Valley. This journey, stretching over 1,000 kilometers, felt like a passage through the very fabric of Pakistan, transitioning from urban hustle to the serenity of towering mountains and verdant valleys.

Hunza, cradled amidst the majestic Karakoram Range, was nothing short of a dream. I wandered through the historical Baltit Fort, marveled at the emerald waters of Attabad Lake, and tasted the region’s famous apricots, sun-dried and bursting with flavor. The mesmerizing Rakaposhi peak stood sentinel, its snow-capped peak gleaming under the sun.

My sister, Fatima, and our friend, Ahmed, accompanied me on this epic journey. With her love for folklore, Fatima shared enchanting tales of the region, while Ahmed, a photography enthusiast, captured our journey in a series of stunning frames.

The choice to traverse this distance by car stemmed from a desire for an unfiltered experience. While there are flights connecting Lahore and Gilgit, driving through the Karakoram Highway, one of the highest paved roads in the world, allowed us to be immersed in the landscape, often making unplanned stops at quaint villages or picturesque viewpoints.

The journey was a symphony of discovery, bonding, and awe. From the historical wonders of Lahore to the tranquil beauty of Hunza, it was a testament to Pakistan’s diverse and breathtaking landscapes.

During the chilly winter of 2022, I set forth on a captivating car journey that commenced in the city of Shimla and threaded its way to the remote beauty of Spiti Valley. This trek, extending over 420 kilometres, felt like a voyage from well-trodden paths into the heart of the Himalayan wilderness.

With its rugged landscapes and monasteries perched on cliffs, Spiti was like a scene from a Tibetan dream. I visited the ancient Tabo Monastery, marveled at the mummy of a monk in Gue village, and star-gazed from the serene Chandratal Lake. The towering presence of the snow-clad mountains and the serene silence of the valley brought an unparalleled sense of peace.

Sharing this journey were my colleague, Rajan, and his sister, Kavita. Rajan, an avid trekker, guided us on some lesser-known paths, while Kavita, with her penchant for poetry, beautifully articulated our shared experiences.

Opting for a car journey through this challenging terrain was driven by a yearning for authentic experiences. While more comfortable ways exist to explore Himachal, our car journey allowed us the luxury of time, the thrill of unexpected discoveries, and the joy of overcoming challenging terrains.

The expedition was a medley of challenges, astonishment, and deep connections. From Shimla’s colonial charm to Spiti’s ethereal beauty, the journey was a poignant reminder of nature’s grandeur and mankind’s enduring spirit.

In the spring of 2021, I embarked on a transformative car journey that began in the bustling streets of Mumbai and culminated in the tranquil backwaters of Alleppey, Kerala. This odyssey, spanning over 1,600 kilometers, was akin to traveling through the diverse pulse of India, transitioning from urban chaos to the soothing lull of nature’s cradle.

Alleppey was a haven for the soul with its labyrinth of canals and lush greenery. I cruised on a traditional houseboat, gliding past villages, witnessing the everyday life of locals. The shimmering waters mirrored the blue skies, while coconut trees swayed gently, framing the horizon. I indulged in local delicacies, with flavors of coconut and spices tantalizing my taste buds.

My high school friends, Rahul and Meena, accompanied me on this panoramic journey. With his unquenchable thirst for history, Rahul shared tales of every city we crossed, while Meena, a culinary enthusiast, ensured we sampled regional dishes at every halt.

A desire for adventure and discovery fueled the decision to drive. Although India boasts an extensive rail network, our car journey offered the luxury of impromptu stops – be it to admire a sunset over the Western Ghats or to sip chai at a roadside stall.

The journey was a harmonious blend of reminiscing, discovery, and cultural immersion. From the architectural marvels of Goa to the serene beaches of Karnataka, this road trip was a profound exploration of India’s myriad hues and rhythms.

In the midst of summer 2022, I embarked on an unforgettable car journey that took off from the cosmopolitan streets of Toronto and stretched all the way to the majestic Rocky Mountains in Alberta. This extensive journey, covering over 3,500 kilometers, was like navigating through a living tapestry of Canada’s geographies, transitioning from urban landscapes to pristine wilderness.

Upon reaching Alberta, Banff National Park was an ethereal experience. I hiked up its trails, taking in panoramic views from the summits, and marveled at the turquoise waters of Lake Louise. The evenings were spent around campfires, under a sky ablaze with stars, with the distant sound of a river adding to the ambiance. The local cuisine, especially the maple-glazed salmon, was an exquisite treat for the palate.

My college roommate, Lucas, and our mutual friend, Sophie, accompanied me on this cross-country journey. Lucas, a nature enthusiast, often shared trivia about the diverse ecosystems we passed, while Sophie, with her ever-ready playlist, ensured that we had the perfect soundtrack for every leg of our journey.

The choice to drive across Canada was born out of a desire to connect with its vastness intimately. While flights could swiftly connect the two provinces, our road trip unveiled the heart of Canada — from the serene lakes of Ontario to the vast prairies of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The journey was an intricately woven tale of adventure, laughter, and self-discovery. From the multicultural vibrancy of Toronto to the untouched beauty of the Rockies, it remains a testament to Canada’s unparalleled diversity and grandeur.

A few summers ago, my family and I embarked on an unforgettable car journey from Mumbai to Goa, a distance spanning over 600 kilometers. As a bustling metropolis, Mumbai is a stark contrast to the tranquil beaches and serene landscapes of Goa. It was a decision, born out of our collective love for road trips, to opt for a car journey instead of a swift flight. My parents, younger brother, and I were enthusiastic travelers, and the drive presented an opportunity to bond and make memories.

Upon reaching Goa, we were greeted by azure waters and golden sands, an inviting sight after the long drive. The days that followed were a melange of beach outings, tasting sumptuous seafood, and exploring the colonial remnants of Old Goa. Notably, we visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus, an ancient church that stands as a testament to Goa’s rich history. My brother and I tried our hand at water sports, while my parents often preferred to lounge by the beach, engrossed in their novels.

The journey by car was chosen primarily due to the scenic route it offered. Traversing through the winding Western Ghats, with its verdant landscapes, was an experience in itself. Moreover, it accorded us the liberty to halt at quaint spots, indulge in local delicacies, and interact with the friendly locals.

As for my feelings about the journey, it was a mixed bag. While the picturesque views and family time were invaluable, the extensive hours on the road did get a tad tiresome. Nevertheless, the journey, with its highs and lows, was an adventure I cherish and would gladly undertake again.

I am a travel employist so I love traveling by far, especially long card drives. It gives me a chance um, to enjoy my life with my family or friends. So here I’d like to talk about a long car journey that I went last year when I have completed my uh, agec examinations. I went to Sumaol with some of my friends. Se Mongol is almost 85 kil from town so it was a long car journey. We started our journey in the morning because that time weather was very pleasant. After reaching there, we were impressed to see the natural appearance of the place. We saw the lake, tribal life, tea garden and many famous tour tourist spots. We saw various types of bars, doctor um monkeys and et. We also visited lemon garden, pineapple garden and rubber garden. I amazed to see the waterfall of a mother as well as we enjoy the fresh air. Moreover, we met the tribal people who were very amicable and hospitable. Besides, I tried many famous photoies of this place. Like I enjoyed the seven colors of tea in the La. It was really a memorable long car journey which I enjoyed very much and I will never forget this journey.

Introduction.

Well, I love travelling by car, especially long Car drives. This thing helps me to get a chance to enjoy my life with my friends or family. So here I would like to talk about a long car journey which I did about 3 months ago. Actually, at that time, I went to Delhi with my friends. I describe it briefly. What happened exactly?

When and Where?

About 3 months ago, there were my summer vacations. Some of my friends and I decided to go somewhere to visit a historical place . After a proper discussion, we decided to go to Delhi by car. Delhi is 377.7 km far away from my hometown. So, It was a long journey. We started our journey in the morning at 4 o’clock in order to avoid traffic on the way. Also, it helped us to escape from the scorching heat of the sun. We enjoyed the pleasant Weather in the morning.

What did you do during this car journey?

During this journey, we also visited a beautiful Park on the way. Actually one of my friends suddenly told me to stop the car on the way. Then he told me that he had seen a beautiful Park and he started insisting all his friends to go there. So we visited this Park named “Naveen Park”.

Apart from that, during this long car journey, we stopped our car at a restaurant named “Dharma Karma Punjabi Restaurant”. There, we ate food according to our own choice. We enjoyed the food service of this restaurant.

Moreover, when we were going to Delhi by car, I clicked some pictures of my friends as well as mine to make these moments memorable. We also clicked a group photo and I hung it on the wall of my home.

So after 6 hours, we reached Delhi. There, we visited some tourist places such as the Red Fort, India Gate, the rose garden in the president’s house, food streets and so on.

In Delhi, we stayed at the Hotel for 2 days. After visiting beautiful places in Delhi, we came back home to complete the pending work of summer vacation.

All in all, it was a memorable long car journey which I enjoyed very much. It filled me with happiness and love. I will never forget this journey during my whole life.

Model answer:

I have made many journeys in my life due to various purposes. For this topic card, I’m going to talk about a journey that I made by car because I recall it for the wonderful experience and fun I got during this journey.

I, along with two of my cousins and a friend, went to Chattagram, the business capital, and the place of the scenic beauty of my country about two and a half years ago. It was just a last-minute plan for us to decide to take a car instead of travelling by train. All four of us had received our driving permit and owned personal vehicles. So, we decided that we would rather drive there.

It took us around 12 hours for us to reach Chattagram from my residence in Sylhet. In fact, we could have reached there earlier, but being careful drivers we drove slowly bearing in mind the safety of each other. I never overlapped the limit of 80 kilometers during this long drive. In addition, we had two breaks on the freeway which also prolonged our journey.

My friend Shakeel and my cousins Reesah and Farah accompanied me on the journey. All of them are my childhood friends too and we have studied and graduated from the same university together. We also live in the same town. Besides, our families also are on good terms with theirs. Thus, I was certain that if I take them on this journey, it will be a journey worthy of remembrance. We did lots of fun on the way to Chattagram. We took selfies on our smartphone and had delicious home-made lunch prepared by Reesah and Farah. We sang songs loudly and smiled a lot. The wonderful sceneries around us and our favourite music in the car made the whole journey more thrilling and enjoyable. It was really a day of excitement and enjoyment.

As far as the reason goes, I decided to make this journey by car because my companions thought that it would be more amusing and relaxing. Not only that, but the air-tickets were also expensive for us and we did not want to spend a large sum of money just for a couple of hours’ flight. I believe it was the best decision to make and it proved to be so.

1. I am a perpetual traveller. 2. I prefer to visit places that have some historical significance because I am intrigued by the folklores associated with such places. 3. I have seen nearly all the historically important places in my vicinity but there was one monument which had been sitting on the top of my bucket list for quite some time. 4. That famous building was Taj Mahal. 5. Last month I checked off this place too when my uncle’s family planned to visit it. 6. He had come to our place on 4 days long vacation and I was excited to hear when he told me a visit to Taj Mahal was part of his itinerary. 7. We started our journey in the car at 6 in the morning and reached Agra, the city in which Taj Mahal is situated in 6 hours. 8. The journey to agra was as memorable as the visit to taj mahal. 9. Since we left early in the morning we did not have breakfast and decided to have it on our way to Taj Mahal.

10. Nearly after one hour we left our home we stopped at a famous restaurant by the name of Mother’s Kitchen. 11. The restaurant is known for its delicious recipes and exclusive dishes. 12. Everybody ordered food of his own choice and I ordered dish they call Mother’s omelette which was their special breakfast dish of the day. 13. The long car journey I’ve ever had was in last Spring Festival when we had 14-day vacation, so my family decided to have a trip to Shanghai by car. There were three people of us, so we thought that driving was a more economical and convenient way. We left Beijing about 7 o’clock in the morning and drove southward.

We didn’t constantly drive along but visited several other cities as well during our trip. For example, we stayed in the city of Xuzhou in the Jiangsu Province for two days because it was a historical city and there were many famous cultural heritage. After about four-day driving, we finally reached our destination. We visited many renowned places, like the bustling City God Temple, and peaceful Century Park, the gorgeous Yu Garden, and the breath-taking Pudong skyline, and tasted lots of indigenous food.

Travelling by our own car enables us to plan our itinerary freely, so that we can go somewhere very conveniently and don’t have to waste our time in the train station and airport. Besides, we can take and buy lots of things on the way and then put them in our car, which always makes our travelling fruitful.

One car journey that took longer than expected was a trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. I was traveling with my family, including my parents and younger sister. We were all excited about the trip because Da Lat is known for its beautiful landscapes and cool climate, making it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We set off early in the morning, expecting the journey to take around six hours. However, the trip ended up taking nearly nine hours. Initially, everything was going smoothly. We were enjoying the scenic views along the way and chatting about our plans in Da Lat. As the journey progressed, I started to feel a bit impatient because it was taking longer than anticipated.

The main reason for the delay was a massive traffic jam we encountered on the highway. There was an accident involving several vehicles ahead of us, which caused a significant hold-up. We were stuck in the traffic for over two hours, barely moving. This unexpected delay made us all feel a bit frustrated and tired. Additionally, the winding mountain roads leading up to Da Lat slowed us down even more, as we had to drive carefully to navigate the sharp turns and steep climbs.

Despite the prolonged journey, we tried to stay positive by playing some games and listening to music in the car. When we finally arrived in Da Lat, we were relieved and happy to stretch our legs and breathe in the fresh mountain air. The beautiful scenery and pleasant weather quickly made us forget about the long drive.

In the end, while the journey took longer than expected, it was worth it. We had a wonderful time in Da Lat, exploring the stunning landscapes, visiting flower gardens, and enjoying local cuisine. This trip taught me to be more patient and adaptable, as unexpected delays can sometimes turn into memorable experiences.

Well, I’d like to talk about a memorable car journey I embarked on with my family a couple of years ago. We decided to explore the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. It was an adventure-filled trip that lasted for about a week.

Our journey began in the city of Edinburgh, and from there, we drove northwards to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Along the way, we passed by charming villages, rolling hills, and picturesque lochs. The scenery was truly mesmerizing, with vast expanses of greenery and mist-covered mountains in the distance.

During our time in the Scottish Highlands, we indulged in various outdoor activities. One of the highlights was visiting the famous Loch Ness, known for its legendary monster, Nessie. We took a boat tour across the loch, admiring the stunning reflections of the surrounding mountains on the calm waters. Although we didn’t spot Nessie, the experience was still unforgettable.

Another remarkable place we explored was the Isle of Skye. The island is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including rugged cliffs, pristine beaches, and mystical fairy pools. We spent an entire day hiking through the enchanting Fairy Glen, capturing the breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls and emerald-green meadows.

On this journey, I had the pleasure of traveling with my parents and younger sister. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to bond as a family, share laughter, and create lasting memories. We took turns driving, and during the long stretches on the road, we played games, shared stories, and sang along to our favorite tunes.

As for the reason we chose to undertake this journey by car, it was primarily to experience the freedom and flexibility that driving offers. We wanted to have the freedom to stop whenever and wherever we desired, to fully immerse ourselves in the stunning Scottish landscapes. It allowed us to explore hidden gems and lesser-known areas that are inaccessible by public transportation.

Furthermore, driving through the Highlands provided a unique sense of adventure and a closer connection to nature. We could appreciate the changing scenery at our own pace, feeling the thrill of navigating winding roads and witnessing breathtaking vistas unfold before our eyes.

In conclusion, the car journey through the Scottish Highlands was an incredible adventure shared with my family. We explored magnificent landscapes, visited iconic sites, and created cherished memories. The freedom and flexibility of traveling by car allowed us to truly appreciate the beauty of the Highlands and connect with nature in a profound way. It was an experience that I will always treasure.
