Visitors to Dubai will no longer be granted a 10-day grace period if their tourist visa expires, according to local travel agents and call centre workers.

Previously, anyone who stayed beyond the validity of their visa were allowed to stay an extra 10 days in the emirate before fines were levied.

Now those who overstay their visa will have to pay a fine of Dh50 per day.

A statement on the removal on the grace period is expected from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) on Thursday.

An ICP call centre agent on Wednesday confirmed the end of the grace period for visit visas issued in the UAE. Other emirates had already removed the grace period for visit visas, with Dubai the last emirate to have it in force.

“The 10-day grace period for visit visa holders is not applicable any more. The new rules were implemented recently,” the agent told The National on Wednesday.

“If the visit visa holder stays after the expiry date then overstay fines will be implemented. People should apply for a 30-day extension visa to stay legally in the country.”

A Dubai-based travel agent also said the 10-day grace period is no longer available.

“Recently we noticed that Dubai scrapped the 10-day grace period for visit visa holders,” a representative of the travel agent told The National .

A customer service agent at Amer service centre in Dubai similarly confirmed the end of the grace period.

“Holders of visit visas issued by Dubai immigration should apply for an extension to their visa before the expiry date or leave the country. They can apply for 30 days extension for Dh800,” the agent said.

ICP in October revised the daily fine from Dh100 down to Dh50 .

A new set of visas were introduced in October last year to allow holidaymakers to stay for 60 days at a time.

The decision to make all entry visas valid for 60 days from the date of issue ― double the previous allowance ― was one of a series of visa changes approved by the UAE Cabinet in April.

Previously, there was no specific visa for tourists and those wishing to visit the UAE applied for 30-, 60- or 90-day visas.

All entry visas are available for single or multiple entry and can be renewed for a further 60 days.

Visitors who stay beyond the time allowed without renewing their visas can also be arrested for staying in the country illegally. Inspection campaigns are regularly carried out to catch offenders.

A grace period to exit the UAE for visit visas issued in Dubai is no longer applicable, Khaleej Times can reveal. Travel agents have shared notices about the new directive with their clients.

“There is no grace period anymore. From the date of entry, the stay duration is as per the type of visa (30 days or 60 days),” a travel agent told its clients.

Firosekhan, operation manager at Arabian Business Centre (Amer Centre – Sheikh Zayed Road), told Khaleej Times that all emirates except Dubai had done away with the 10-day grace period for visit visas. The grace period only applied to visas issued in Dubai. From May 15, authorities in Dubai have also removed the grace period. This means a visitor or tourist must exit the country before their visas expire. Failing this, overstay fines will apply.

In separate enquiries, call centre executives from the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) and the GDRFA confirmed that there is no grace period for visit visas issued anywhere in the UAE. Fines are calculated as soon as the document expires.

Grace period used to apply by default

Mir Wasim Raja, manager for MICE and holidays at Galadari International Travel Services, explained how the grace period was calculated and applied previously.

“The moment a visitor enters the country, it is updated on the system by default and a grace period of 10 days was added to both 30 days and 60 days visit visas. However, not the grace period will not be added and the person should exit before the last day of the visa,”

He further said that the system now shows the validity of "30 days" or "60 days" without the grace period for certain visas. “We normally don’t check the number of days left for a visitor to exit the country. We do it only upon request,” said Raja.

Absconding charges

Another travel agent explained that they are compelled to file absconding charges against overstayers. "The visas that an agent issues provide sponsorship for any visitor entering the UAE on a visit visa of either 30 days or 60 days. It causes us difficulties and financial losses when a visitor exceeds the duration of their visa. Therefore, we are compelled to report them for our protection,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide.

Previously, overstay fines are imposed on agents and then later retrieved from visitors. Back then, the minimum absconding penalty is Dh2,000, which would increase every day, according to experts in the travel industry.

Now, however, travel agents are no longer involved. Visitors will have to pay penalties themselves before exiting the country.

Fines explained

Travel experts urge visitors to exit the country before their visit visa expires. “People feel that it’s okay to extend a day or two and pay relevant fines, which a few of them think are minimal. But it comes with a cost,” said Subair.

Overstaying one's visa is a serious offence and can get a traveller stopped at airports' immigration counters.

“Many visitors are unaware of their visa validity status and overstay a few days. They learn about the overstaying status only when they reach the airport. One must be in touch with the agent and seek information on the visa expiry,” said Raja.

“A person overstaying the visa term will have to pay Dh50 for a day, along with Dh320 for relevant charges and exit permits. A person overstaying for 10 days will have to pay Dh500 plus Dh320, which is Dh820,” said Subair.

Where to pay fees?

“One can pay online at the ICP website before leaving for the airport,” said Subair.

However, if one wishes to pay at the airport, “the immigration officer will stop the overstaying visitor to pay the fine with the relevant fees at the counter,” said Raja.

On this page, we detail everything you need to know about tourist visas for Dubai.

First up – it’s important to note what passport you are holding and, therefore, which visa rules apply to you.

Who needs to apply for a Tourist Visa?

Tourist Visas for Dubai and the UAE apply to anyone NOT eligible for a visa on arrival.  There are two categories of Visa on Arrival – check these first!

If your country of citizenship is not listed below, you can apply either through your airline or UAE registered tour operator for the appropriate visa.

  • Visa services from Etihad Airways
  • Visa Services offered by Emirates
  • Visa services from Fly Dubai
  • Visa services from Air Arabia

What Are UAE Transit Visas?

  • A 48-hour Transit Visa is applicable for a single entry into the country between 8 to 48 hours and costs AED 37
  • A 96-hour Transit Visa is applicable for a single entry into the country between 8 to 96 hours and costs AED 206

If your flight layover is between 2 to 8 hours and you are not eligible for a visa on arrival, then you will not be able to leave the airport. See this guide to things to do in DXB during a layover .

Single and Double Entry UAE Tourist Visas

  • A 30-day single-entry visa costs 510 AED for 30 days.
  • A 30-day multiple-entry visa costs 610 AED for 30 days.

Both of these may be extended twice for 30 days (so a maximum of 90 days) at 960 AED per extension.

  • A long-term single-entry visa costs 830 AED for 60 days.
  • A long-term multiple-entry visa costs 1560 AED for 60 days

Visa-Free Entry to the UAE

Citizens from GCC Countries do not need to apply for a visa on arrival.

There are 20 countries that are currently eligible for a FREE 30-day visit visa on arrival to the UAE; these are:

  • New Zealand
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America
  • Vatican City

A visit visa for these countries lasts for 30 days, multi-entry, and can be renewed twice, with a 10-day grace period (i.e. you won’t be fined for overstaying your visa until Day 40).  If you overstay a visit visa the fine is 200 AED the first day, plus 100 AED per additional day – see more below on overstays.

Countries Eligible for 90-day Visa on Arrival

There are 40+ countries that are currently eligible for a FREE 90-day visit visa on arrival to the UAE, these are:

  • Czech Republic
  • El Salvador
  • Liechtenstein
  • Netherlands
  • Russian Federation
  • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Solomon Islands
  • South Korea
  • Switzerland

Mexico citizens are eligible for 180 days.

India Citizens

There are specific rules applicable to Indian citizens which you can find here .

If you have any concerns, you should verify this information on the UAE Government website.

Dubai Tourist Visa Extension

If your 30-day Dubai tourist visa has expired, you have two options:

  • Leave the country before your 10-day grace period expires (ie, by day 39)
  • Apply to Immigration and pay a fee to have your visit Visa extended. You can only extend a 30-day Visa for a maximum of 60 days (ie two paid extensions).

What is a Visa Run?

A visa run is a common expression used when you leave the country in order to immediately re-enter and start a fresh visit visa.

Most commonly, this is done on the UAE’s border with Oman.  We have a detailed guide here on how border runs from Dubai works.

Accidental overstays in the UAE

It’s important to note that if you leave the country during the first 30 days, your visa will not renew upon re-entry. It’s a 30-day multi-entry Visa.  If you are travelling through Dubai, let’s say onward to Europe then have a stopover in Dubai again, be very careful if that second stop sees you cross over from 30 days to 40 days.

E.g., You arrive in Dubai on 1 September, stay for a few days, then fly on to Europe. You return to the UAE on 28 September.  You then spend two weeks in Dubai and fly out again on 12 October.

Even though you only stayed in Dubai for just over two weeks, your original 30-day visa was still valid on re-entry. You are considered to have overstayed your visit visa by 12 days as you did not leave the country, and it was not renewed during the 10-day grace period.

Before leaving the UAE, you will need to pay the daily fine for your overstay at the airport.

Road trip to Oman?

A good way to avoid this can, of course, be to include a trip to Oman with your Dubai trip!  Musandam is our favourite location for an overnight trip – not only an amazing experience but also one where you can avoid any issues with overstaying your visa and receiving a fine by exiting the country between day 30 and day 39.

There are a few small costs involved. Other than transportation, you have to pay an exit fee to the UAE (35 AED), and a tourist Visa entry fee to Oman , currently 5OR for a 10-day visit visa.  Regarding re-entering the UAE, there are no charges on the Omani or UAE side; just stamping your passports.

NB If you are looking to work in the UAE and become a resident, different visa categories will apply.  A future employer may still instruct you to enter on a tourist visa, and then you will be changed to the appropriate visa category in due course.

How you can extend validity of UAE visit visa for 60 more days

Living in uae.

ICP’s new service can be completed online by the visa sponsor

STOCK ABU DHABI AIRPORT

Dubai: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has launched a service that allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visas online.

Visit visas, which are a type of entry permit , are issued to foreign nationals, allowing them to enter the UAE for various reasons – whether for tourism, medical treatment or to study.

As per the ICP website, this new service allows for the extension of this visit visa. “The extension period depends on the type of entry permit issued in terms of duration and the number of times the extension request can be submitted,” the website stated.

What is visa validity?

According to Adnan Khan, operation manager at Siddique Haider Corporate Services Provider, the visa validity refers to the amount of time within which you can travel on a particular visa.

“After the visa is issued, you have 60 days to travel. After 60 days, the visa expires. Before the 60-day deadline, if you think you will not be able to travel on the visa, you can extend the validity of the visa through this service,” he told Gulf News.

“Sometimes people have their visas issued and they might not be able to leave the country, for whichever reason. They will just have to pay the fee to extend the visa validity, which would be better than having to apply for a new visa, which would cost them more,” he said.

If you think you will not be able to travel on the visa, you can extend the validity of the visa through this service. - Adnan Khan, operation manager at Siddique Haider Corporate Services Provider

For how many days can the validity be extended?

The service allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visit visa for up to 60 days and those on a visa issued to receive a medical treatment or to study can extend it for up to 90 days.

Who can apply for this service?

Sirajudeen Ummer, Business Development Manager at Supreme Business Services, reiterated that this new service from ICP can only be applied for when the visa holder is still outside the UAE.

Visit Visa Extension Dubai: 2024 Options

UAE government has recently introduced new Dubai visit visa extension regulations that make extending your visit visa easier than ever. Dubai attracts millions of visitors from around the world every year due to its luxurious skyscrapers, stunning beaches, and business opportunities . Furthermore, with its iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai offers a unique blend of modernity and tradition that makes it a popular destination among travelers.

But what if your initial visa isn’t enough time to soak it all in? With the introduction of the new visit visa extension rules you can explore the wonders of Dubai for longer to ensure your dream vacation becomes a reality.

Let’s explore these new visa extensions regulations and options in 2024 and understand the process to maximize your Dubai adventure!

Visit Visas in Dubai

Visit visas are permits issued by the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that allow foreign visitors to enter and stay in Dubai for a specific purpose and timeframe. Moreover, these visas are applicable to anyone who wants to visit Dubai for tourism, business meetings, visiting family or friends, or for short-term medical treatment.

There are different types of visit visas available in Dubai, each with varying durations and limitations.

1. Tourist Visa

This is the most common type of visit visa, issued for leisure purposes. It can be a single-entry visa valid for 30 days from arrival or a multiple-entry visa valid for 30 days from the first entry with a total stay of 90 days within a 180-day period. There’s also a new long-term single-entry visa valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

2. On-Arrival Visa

Nationals of certain countries, including India, can obtain a visa upon arrival at Dubai airport. This visa is typically valid for 14 days and can be extended for an additional 14 days.

3. Visit Visa for Business Meetings

This visa is intended for business visitors attending meetings or conferences in Dubai. It is usually valid for 30 days.

Visitors to Dubai must comply with the regulations of their visa. Overstaying a visa can result in fines and even imprisonment. Visitors should also be aware of the restrictions on their visa type. For example, visitors on a tourist visa cannot work in Dubai.

Why You Might Need a UAE Visit Visa Extension

Dubai offers so much to experience, however, with so much to see and do, a standard 30 or 60-day visit visa might feel limiting. Here are some common reasons why visitors seek extensions:

1. Extended Stay

If your initial visit visa doesn’t cover your entire desired stay in Dubai, an extension allows you to stay legally for a longer period.

2. Unexpected Circumstances

Trip delays, missed flights, or unforeseen events can cause you to overstay your visa. Extensions help avoid fines and penalties associated with overstaying.

3. Business

Maybe your business meetings took longer than expected, or new opportunities arose requiring a longer stay. An extension helps you handle these situations.

4. Change of Plans

If your plans change during your visit and you decide to stay longer than initially intended, a visa extension allows you to do so legally.

5. Visiting Family/Friends

Spending more time with loved ones might be desirable. An extension allows you to extend your visit.

New UAE Visit Visa Extension Rules – 2024

There are many good updates for visitors to Dubai in 2024 regarding Dubai visit visa extensions. You now have more flexibility over your extended stay options. Both 30-day and 60-day visit visas can be extended for an additional 30 days at a time. Previously, extensions might have been limited to shorter durations.

The total duration of your stay in the UAE on a visit visa cannot exceed 180 days within a year. This means you can strategically apply for extensions throughout the year as long as you don’t go over 180 days cumulatively.

The option to extend your visa from within the UAE has also been reinstated. This eliminates the need to exit the country and re-enter for an extension, saving you time and hassle.

Additionally, the 10-day grace period that previously allowed visitors some leeway after their visa expired has been scrapped. Ensure you apply for extensions well before your current visa expires to avoid fines.

Extensions are typically applied for through the same agency that issued your initial visa. You can also use the ICP (Immigration Control Authority) smart application in some cases.

Dubai Visit Visa Extension Options in 2024

In Dubai, you have a few options for extending your visit visa in 2024. Here’s what you need to know:

Types of Visas Eligible for Extension :

  • 30-day visit visas (single or multiple entry): These can be extended for an additional 30 days at a time.
  • 60-day visit visas (single or multiple entry): These can also be extended for an additional 30 days at a time.

Extension Options :

In-country Extension: This is the most convenient option. You can apply to extend your visa from within the UAE without needing to exit and re-enter the country.

Maximum Duration: The total duration of your stay in Dubai cannot exceed 180 days within a calendar year. This includes the initial visa validity and any extensions granted.

Extension Increments: You can extend your visa in 30-day increments, allowing you to utilise it to your specific needs. The most you can extend is 60 days total (across multiple applications).

Ensure you apply for the extension before your current visa expires. There’s no longer a grace period, and overstaying incurs a fine of AED 50 per additional day.

Dubai Visa Extension Fees in 2024

The exact cost of a Dubai visit visa extension in 2024 can vary slightly depending on where you apply, how you pay and other factors

DUBAI –  The UAE has announced an additional 30-day grace period from August 11 for those with visit visa or tourist visa that expired after March 1, a move welcomed by tourists and residents.

The announcement by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) on Monday (August 10) follows a similar July 16 announcement by ICA that visa overstayers will be given additional 30 days after August 11 to leave the UAE or change their visa status without incurring fines.

The guidelines do not cover people with cancelled visas, so overstay fines are expected.

Expatmedia.net spoke to Libbie Burtinshaw, Operations Manager of PRO Partner Group, to explain the new visa rules.

What happened to the earlier rule extending the validity of expired residence visas, visit visas, tourist visas and Emirates ID to December 31?

The UAE Cabinet cancelled that rule on July 11.

What is the rule for visit visa or tourist visa holders stuck in the UAE with expired visas?

“If their visa expired after March 1, they will be given additional 30-day grace period starting on August 11 to leave the UAE, extend their visa or change status without incurring fines,” Libbie Burtinshaw tells Expatmedia.net.

What about expats staying in the UAE with residence visa that expired after March 1?

If you are in the UAE and your residence visa expires on a date from March 1 until July 11, you have a three-month grace period or until October 10 to renew your visa in order to continue staying in the UAE. Otherwise, you will need to leave the country before the grace period in order to avoid paying fine

What about expats with residence visa that expired after July 12?

“Expatriates holding a UAE residency visa that expired after July 12 should proceed with visa renewal as per the normal process,” Burtinshaw explains.

What about residence visa holders in the UAE whose visas were cancelled between March 1 and July 1?

“Fines will be applied immediately. It is recommended that these individuals exit the country or change the current visa status,” Burtinshaw says.

What about expats whose residence visas were cancelled after July 1?

“They will be given a grace period of 30 days to exit the country or change the status onto a new visa,” Burtinshaw says.

What about UAE residence visa holders who are outside the UAE for less than six months?

“If their residency visa expired after March 1, they will be given a one-month grace period from the date of arrival to the UAE to renew the residency visa,” Burtinshaw says.

What about UAE residence visa holders outside the UAE for more than six months?

Their visa will automatically expire, but they may be granted a specific grace period which will be determined accordingly once flights resume between the country they are currently in and the UAE. Once they arrive back to the UAE, they may be granted a 30 days grace period to renew their residency visa.

When do I start paying fines?

In the case of a cancelled or expired visa , failure to comply with the new regulations could result in an overstay fine of Dh225 for the first day and Dh25 for any subsequent days.

If the visa was cancelled after March 1 but before July 1, the fines will begin immediately.

In case the visa was cancelled after July 1, there will be a 30-day grace period. Once this has elapsed, fines will be applied.

For residency visas expired between March 1 and July 12 for individuals inside the UAE, there will be a three-month grace period before fines are incurred.

In the case of an expired visit visa, the expatriate will be required to change the status of their visa, extend their visa for 30 days of change their status within 30 days after August 11. After this date overstay fines will begin to accrue, fines will start from July 11. Fines incurred will be Dh300 for the first day and Dh100 for any subsequent days.

What are the next steps for visa holders?

“Moving forward, it is likely that the visa renewal process will return to normal and the same processes will resume that were applicable pre-Covid-19,” Burtinshaw says.

For those on expired visas, it is advisable to renew them immediately if expired after July 12, or by October 10 if expired between March 1 and July 12.

For those on cancelled visas, it is recommended to exit the UAE or change the status as soon as possible. ICA/Expat Media

New Rules and Regulations for Visa Extension In Dubai

Dubai, a city known for its ultramodern architecture and vibrant nightlife scene, has updated its visa extension rules to make the process easier for visitors. In 2024, if you’re on a visit visa in Dubai, you can apply for an extension of your stay. This means you can enjoy the city’s attractions and opportunities for a longer period without worrying about overstay fines.

The updated regulations allow visitors to extend the validity period of their UAE visa for an additional 30 days, which can be done twice for every 30 days. You can now stay for up to 120 days within a calendar year, ensuring you have plenty of time to explore the city or conduct business. However, it’s important to remember that this is the maximum duration allowed, and you can only extend your visa after this period.

Extending a visa has become more convenient with the introduction of an online system. You can now manage visa validity, and your entry permits easily through personal online accounts, streamlining the process of extending or cancelling visas. This digital approach is part of the UAE’s new entry and residence system, which aims to make the country an attractive hub for various activities.

A significant change is that travellers must now leave Dubai to extend their tourist visas . The UAE has suspended the option to renew visit visas from within the country . This can be done through airport-to-airport (A2A) services, where tourists are required to exit the country for a day before reapplying for a visa. For those with a 90-day visit visa, an extension for an additional 90 days is also possible.

Extending Your Visit Visa In Dubai Step-by-Step

Online visa extension process.

1. Check Your Eligibility

Before beginning the application process, ensure you are eligible for a UAE tourist visa extension. This includes being a citizen of an eligible country, holding a valid passport with at least six months remaining beyond your first tourist visa extension’s expiration date, having a confirmed return ticket, and possessing adequate funds for your stay.

2. Document Preparation:

  • A completed visa extension application form.
  • A photocopy of your passport’s biodata page and the page with your current UAE visa.
  • A copy of your confirmed return or onward travel ticket.
  • A recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Proof of sufficient funds, such as a bank statement, employer letter, or sponsor letter.
  • Application Submission:

3. Access the online portal for Dubai visa services:

  • Choose the appropriate option for a passport or travel document, ensuring the details match the document used for the initial visa.
  • Enter your Unified number and passport number, and select the type of document you possess.
  • Fill in your date of birth and current nationality as per passport details.
  • Click the search button to retrieve your visa information.
  • Upload the prepared documents and fill out the online form with accurate details.

4. Payment of Fees:

The extension fee varies based on the duration of the extension (e.g., $136 for 30 days, $272 for 60 days). Pay this fee online using a credit or debit card.

Processing Time

Expect a processing time of 3-5 working days, though this may vary during peak seasons.

Visa Collection

Once your visa status is processed, you can collect your extended visa. The method of collection will be communicated to you, which could be through a visa application centre or local post office.

Offline Visa Extension Process

1. Visit a GDRFA Branch:

Find and visit your nearest General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs office .

2. Document Submission:

Provide the same set of documents as listed for the online process.

3. Fee Payment:

Pay the applicable extension fee at the service centre.

4. Processing and Collection:

After submission, the processing time is similar to the online method. Once your visa change or extension is approved, collect your passport and new visa as instructed by the GDRFA staff.

By following these steps, you can smoothly extend your visit visa in Dubai, ensuring compliance with UAE immigration rules and enjoying an extended stay in this dynamic city.

Special Cases and Exceptions

Extensions during extraordinary circumstances (pandemics, etc.).

In the face of global crises such as pandemics, the UAE government has shown adaptability in visa policies. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, expired residency visas were automatically extended, providing relief to those unable to leave the country or renew their residence visas due to travel constraints. Additionally, individuals whose residency was revoked after March 1st were granted a 30-day grace period to secure new employment, adjust their sponsorship, or arrange their departure from the UAE.

Options for Family and Dependents

Expatriate residents in Dubai with a valid residence permit have the ability to sponsor their family members , provided they fulfil the minimum salary criteria, which is set at $1,090 or $817 plus accommodation. The sponsorship can extend to spouses, children, and parents under specific conditions. Male dependents can be sponsored up to 25 years of age, while female dependents are eligible regardless of age as long as they are single. In certain situations, a mother may sponsor her children, and a resident may sponsor their parents on an annual basis.

Should your visa be cancelled, your dependents are afforded six months to find a new residence permit.

Nationality-Specific Guidelines

Certain nationalities benefit from specific guidelines regarding visa extensions and residency visa holders. UAE nationals are privileged to sponsor their non-national spouse, parent , or child for a five-year residence visa, even if the sponsored individual is not employed in the UAE. Additionally, foreign women who are widowed or divorced with a child from a UAE national are eligible for a residence visa without the requirement of employment.

Converting Visit Visas to Other Visa Types

Visitors in Dubai who wish to change their visit visa to a different category, for example, due to the termination of employment, have the option to apply for a visa change ticket or a tourist visa to prolong their stay for an additional 90 days without incurring penalties. The conversion process entails an in-country fee and necessitates the submission of various documents, such as passport copies, photographs, and medical clearance certificates for individuals over 18.

The UAE has transitioned to an electronic residence permit system, eliminating the need for a residency visa stamp in passports, which streamlines the residency verification process. The e-permit includes all relevant personal, professional, and sponsorship information and is recognised as official proof of residency. It is crucial to stay informed about the latest resident visa guidelines and procedures, as they are subject to variation across different emirates and can be updated.

What is the fine for overstaying a visit visa in the uae.

The penalty for exceeding the duration minimum validity of your visit visa is $14 per day. The UAE has recently removed the 10-day grace period for tourists, necessitating departure by the visa’s expiry date to avoid these charges.

How much is the fee for a visitor visa extension in UAE?

Through the “ICP” smart application, the fee for a 30-day extension is $204, which encompasses $140 for visa issuance, $27 for the application process, $27 for smart services, and $14 for insurance and authority charges. This visa extension fee can be requested only once.

Can we extend our UAE visit visa without exit?

The ICP enables the extension of visit visas for relatives or friends within the UAE. A passport with a minimum of six months’ validity and the required documents, including the original entry permit and a compliant personal colour photo, are necessary for this process.

How can I extend my 90-day visit visa in UAE?

To extend a 90-day visit visa, the application must be made through the “ICP” smart application. The extension for visit visa holders is granted once for an additional 30 days at a fee of $204. Applicants must be relatives or friends of a UAE citizen or resident, with proof of the relationship and reasons for the visit. Refunds for the visa extension service are issued within six months of the application date via credit card or through a cheque or bank transfer for accounts within the UAE within a maximum period of five years.

Smooth Sailing in Visa Extension

Navigating the visa extension landscape in Dubai is now more streamlined than ever. With the new online system and clearly outlined processes, the city welcomes you to extend your adventure or business pursuits easily. Whether you’re soaking up the sun, closing deals, or just unwinding amid the city’s bustling energy, rest assured your extended stay is just a few clicks away.

Remember, the key to a stress-free extension stay longer is to stay informed and act promptly before your current visa expires. By keeping these guidelines handy and adhering to the rules, you can ensure your time in Dubai is all about making memories—or making strides in your projects—without the hassle of visa woes. Embrace the treasures of Dubai for longer, and let the city’s ever-evolving skyline inspire your extended stay.
