Israel Bible Tours invites you to experience the land of Israel, the Holy Land, where the patriarchs, the judges, the prophets, and our Lord Jesus walked. Together, we will study how the Word of God, the history, and the archaeology of Israel richly connect. Our desire is that every person whether already a follower of Jesus, or not yet, will have a face to face encounter with the Lord, and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior.

Israel Bible Tours is a ministry and not just a business. Before, during, and after a tour our goal is to minister to you, pray with you, and serve you in every way we can. We welcome you to join us in the Land.

Tours to the Holy Land: Trips & Israel Tour Packages 2024, 2025

"Every place we visited was breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning landscapes and rich historical and cultural heritage. We highly recommend visiting Israel to anyone who wants to experience an unforgettable journey. We had a life-changing time there and are already planning to return." Simon L. and Beatriz G. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024 "I had a wonderful time in Israel. I felt while I was there the precautions that were taken for our safety were well in hand. I still got to experience many holy sites and be blessed by walking the path that Jesus walked. Every day was started in prayer, singing, or scripture reading which also extended the blessing of the trip." Quincie L. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024

Our Israel tours & Holy Land tours of 9-24 days for the Evangelical Protestant Bible believer are what Pilgrim Tours does best. Prepare yourself for a life-changing journey to walk where Jesus walked and visit Jerusalem, Galilee, & Samaria. Each of our Israel tours is led by a local guide who is an experienced expert on the historical, cultural, scenic, and spiritual history of the Holy Land. If you travel with 10 or more people, a private group tour can easily be arranged. Pilgrim Tours can customize an itinerary to fit your group needs with many options to choose from.

Concerned about safety? As a Christian tour operator, the staff at Pilgrim Tours takes a Biblical perspective regarding the current situation in the Middle East. We do not believe that peace in Israel is something that will occur until the Prince of Peace comes to restore His kingdom. Please do not make a reservation with us based on the hopes of a calm future. If you long for the special blessings only available in Israel, we will take you there. An expert driver and guide will carefully keep you from any areas that could present a problem and treat you to the riches of Israel as our special guest.

Featured Sites in Israel

Explore a vast selection of beautiful historical and Biblical locations throughout Israel with our Israel Holy Land tour. You can visit Jerusalem, Galilee, and parts of Samaria, getting the life-changing opportunity to see where Jesus and many other Biblical figures lived and walked. We even offer Holy Land tours that allow you to see the Dead Sea, the Garden Tomb, and the Jordan River Baptism Site. Like all of our Europe tours , our Israel Holy Land tours are led by local guides who have extensive knowledge of the area and its history. If you want to experience the history of Israel and see the Bible come to life, our Holy Land tours give you that opportunity.

The city of Jerusalem offers a unique convergence of Judaism, Christianity, and the Muslim faith. For Christians who visit Jerusalem, you will learn about many stories of the Bible while walking her streets. Many actors in the Bible such as Abraham, King David, King Solomon, the twelve disciples and Jesus all lived, visited, or spent time there. The Passion week of Christ will be highlighted during our stay as we visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Western Wall, the Way of Suffering, and the Garden Tomb.

Sea of Galilee

Nowhere in Israel does the Bible come to life more than along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Pilgrims who visit the Galilee region have the opportunity to imagine what life was like 2,000 years ago and what Jesus and the twelve disciples experienced while fishing on the Sea of Galilee. The peaceful setting and the natural wonders of the Golan Heights to the east and Mt. Arbel to the west make for a great way to start your morning in quiet reflection. During our tour, we explore the Biblical towns of Capernaum, Magdala, and Nazareth and take a meaningful cruise on the Sea of Galilee.

The Dead Sea is not only the lowest and most lifeless lake in the world, but also nearly 10 times saltier than the ocean. Travelers will enjoy the beautiful colors of the blue water and the red mountains of Jordan to the east. Take time to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Dead Sea “float” either in the sea itself or at one of the warm salt water pools at our hotel. The Dead Sea experience is truly a bucket list visit you won’t want to miss!

Garden Tomb

Our visit to the Garden Tomb and its surrounding gardens is normally one of the highlights of our tour to Israel. The Garden Tomb is a rock-cut tomb in Jerusalem that was unearthed in 1867 and is considered by some Protestants to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Our visit offers a unique time of prayer, reflection, communion, and praise, which will be a special life-long memory for many travelers.

Jordan River Baptism Site

The Jordan River Baptist Site or “Yardenit” is a baptism site located along the Jordan River just south of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. This site is frequented by Christian Pilgrims who enjoy imagining the setting of the baptism of Jesus. For anyone who would like to be baptized in the Jordan River, Yardenit has been developed to be a peaceful setting with beautiful gardens, clean colored water, changing facilities, showers, and a nice souvenir shop.

Caesarea Philippi

To many Pilgrim travelers, Caesarea Philippi is a special surprise while on their tour. Located along the rushing springs of Mt. Hermon, the beautiful and natural setting is where Jesus asked his disciples “Who do men say that I am?” He asked this question while observing the pagan worship of the god Pan as worshipers offered their sacrifice at the “Gates of Hell.” Our time at Caesarea Philippi is one of many opportunities throughout our tour to see the lessons and message of the Bible come to light in a special way.

Israel Tours: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best month for the Holy Land tour?

Taking a trip to Israel during the spring or fall offers the most enjoyable weather of the year but normally has the largest crowds. If you want to enjoy a peaceful tour with fewer crowds, consider visiting between December and February or June and August. We offer Israel and Jordan tours throughout the year, so you can select a trip that works for your schedule.

How many days do you need for a Holy Land tour?

We offer several types of tours of the Holy Land, so the duration of your tour depends on the tour package you choose. The Best of Israel Tour is our most basic offering and includes a Sea of Galilee boat ride, a trip to the Jordan River Baptism Site, the Dead Sea, and many opportunities to walk on the same land Jesus walked on. This is our shortest trip at just 9 or 10 days. Our most involved trips allow you to experience a wide range of historical locations over the course of a few weeks. Egypt tours are included in some of these packages, as well as tours in Greece and other countries. These tours can take up to 24 days, giving you the chance to spend an extended period of time learning about and visiting different parts of the world. From our Turkey tours to all of our Israel Christian tours, all of our tours feature a first-class hotel rating for the country you visit. We do offer some upgraded tours that offer better lodging options. You can review our hotel categories at https://www.pilgrimtours.com/company/hotelcomparison.htm . Check out any of our tours to view a day-by-day itinerary and see what amenities are included with each tour.

What is the dress code in Israel?

The dress code in Israel is different from other parts of the world. There are a few dress code basics you should understand before booking Israel tours: When you’re in Israel, there is no strict dress code. You can wear what you feel comfortable wearing. However, both men and women should try to dress conservatively and cover their shoulders and knees when visiting any of the religious sites throughout Israel. Generally speaking, it’s best to avoid tank tops and shorts. Men need to cover their heads when visiting the Western Wall. Pilgrim Tours provides a Pilgrim Tours ball cap upon arrival in Israel, but you might consider purchasing an affordable kippa that you can bring when you visit Jewish sites. Some places may offer a free kippa, but these are generally low quality. (Women are not required to cover their heads at any sight.) You can figure out what you need to pack and how to dress each day by looking at the itinerary for our Holy Land tours. Guides normally offer guidance on how to dress for the next day while on tour. We also suggest looking at the extended weather forecast as you prepare and pack for your trip.

Is there a lot of walking involved on an Israel Tour?

Our Israel tours do require a significant amount of walking each day and you should be able to walk unassisted 3-4 miles per day on average. Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes that provide adequate support. While there are bus and boat rides during these tours, you have to walk quite a bit to explore some of the Biblical sites. Our tour guides normally give the group a few options at sites for those that have physical limitations. One thing to keep in mind is that there are many hills and valleys in Israel which can make walking even more taxing. The amount of walking you have to do may vary based on the tour you take, so look at the itinerary before choosing your tour. The good news is that Israel is a beautiful country to see on foot, and you’ll have several opportunities to sit down and give your feet a rest. As long as you have a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothes, it’s easy to forget about all the walking you’re doing and enjoy the tour.

What passport & visa information do I need for your Israel tours?

U.S. citizens need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months validity beyond their intended stay to enter Israel. Make two photocopies of your passport. Leave one copy at home and carry the other separately from your original. Israel: U.S. and Canadian Citizens do not need a Visa when entering Israel. Non U. S. /Canadian Citizens are responsible to fulfill appropriate entry requirements of destination. Contact your Consulate office for requirements.

What common languages will be spoken during your Israel tours?

Hebrew, Arabic and English.

What currency can I use on your Israel tours?

The U.S. dollar is widely accepted across Israel, and we suggest bringing about $30 for each day you’ll be on tour. U.S. dollars are recommended for use for small purchases and lunches. Lunches typically cost $15-20. It is important to bring about 20 $1 bills as some bathrooms charge a small fee for use. Credit cards may also be used for larger purchases. ATMs in Israel are all connected to European and American banking systems. Please be advised that the ATM machines dispense money in SHEKELS – NOT U.S. DOLLARS. Please notify your bank before traveling overseas.

Do I need to bring a converter for the Israel tour?

Israel uses the European plug with two round pins. You will need to bring along the necessary converters and adapters to operate any 120 volt appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors as well as camera and cell phone chargers. Electricity in Israel is 220 volts 50 Hz.

What is the time zone for your Israel tours?

The time zone for Israel is seven hours ahead of EST and two hours ahead of GMT.

What climate should I expect during your Israel tours?

In Israel the climate is temperate, and temperatures all year-round are reasonable. Israel has two main seasons: winter (from November to March) is cold and rainy in most parts of the country; summer (from April to October) is hot and dry with little or no rainfall. The desert areas can be extremely hot in summer time.

Learn From Men Who Love Jesus

Travel the world with people who love the Word.

One of the greatest joys of my life has been to visit the country of Israel! Passages I had studied in the Bible suddenly came to life. Things that I thought I understood were clarified in a fresh way. The reality of who Jesus is and how he lived captured me in a unique way as I literally walked where He walked.

Join us! Take it from me, you won’t regret it.

Got Questions?

Here are the things we get asked the most. If this doesn’t answer your question, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Is it safe?

Yes! Millions of visitors travel to Israel each year, amazed and inspired! In fact you’ll feel just as safe (or safer) in Israel then any major city in the US. When visiting take the usual tourist precautions; don’t leave personal items unattended, use the safe deposit box at your hotels, be more mindful where you go at night, travel in groups and accompanied when possible.

Is it affordable?

One of the main reasons we started Land of the Bible Tours was to allow people to see Israel who thought they never could afford to! Our trips include just about everything–flights, hotels, land transportations, professional guide, tips, buffet breakfast/dinner, and all site admission fees. Going to Israel is probably easier and less expensive than you think!

How taxing is it physically?

We do a lot of walking! But with a little preparation, you’ll be good to go. An average day is about 10,000-12,000 steps. If you have a concern about being able to handle the trip physically, let us know!

What about insurance?

We  strongly  recommend travel insurance! It is relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain. See our  Insurance  page to learn more and purchase travel insurance.

How much money should I bring?

The only thing that you’ll need money for is lunches and souvenirs/gifts. Lunches average $15-18 per day, and there are LOTS of opportunities for shopping. Most locations in Israel will accept credit cards and the overwhelming majority will take American money. There will be changes to exchange for local currency.

Do I need a visa?

For stays of up to three months, you don’t need a visa. The only travel document you need is your passport. Just be sure that it is valid for at least six months after  your trip.

Can I buy my own plane ticket?

We do provide a land-only version of the trip. Contact us for more information.

Should I go?

A trip to the Holy Land is life-changing! As you read your Bible, you’ll find yourself saying “I’ve been there!” or “I know exactly what that looks like!” Every Christian should travel to Israel at least once!

Middle East Update

Weekly videos from Dan Stolebarger about the Middle East — insights often not reported by the media. You’ll hear about current events that are relevant from a Biblical perspective, including Israel, its allies and its enemies. Stay up to date on what’s really going on.

Israel is not just another vacation or destination to check off the list. It is the most impactful place that a person can visit and it is only because I have been there that I say that. Prior to my first visit to Israel I was anxious and nervous because I didn’t know what to expect and was being questioned by many people as to whether or not I was in my right mind for going. I felt I might be making a mistake and thought maybe all the people questioning my sanity were right to do so. (more…)

Andrew

Never having been to the Middle East, or really anywhere very far from home in the U.S., a couple of friends and I were intrigued with the thought of visiting the Promised Land. We saw a promotion to go with Dan and Sharon with an organization we knew through our study of God’s Word, and we were compelled enough to book a tour. As the date approached, the idea that sounded so good as “something to do someday”, was becoming a reality and I was growing increasingly hesitant (at best) and fearful (at least). (more…)

Sean

I would say that a spiritual trip to the land of Israel is a must for every believer. If you never travel anywhere else in the world and have only one trip overseas, there is no doubt in our minds it should be Israel. We've had the privilege of seeing the Land of the Bible with Dan, Sharon and Jane on 2 occasions in 2014 and 2015. In all honesty our lives have never been the same. (more…)

Susie and Willem

We have been blessed with three opportunities to be on tours in the Holy Land with groups arranged and led by Dan and Sharon Stolebarger. Each tour was different in content — all were superbly organized, starting with a smooth arrival process into Israel with a warm greeting on arrival. (more…)

If you are thinking of visiting Israel, Jordan or the biblical sites of Turkey, then think Holy Ground Explorations. Why? Because, who you travel with will profoundly influence what you experience in these unique lands. With Holy Ground Explorations, you will be treated to more than a rushed visit to the historical and biblical highlights. You will be more than just “one of many” on a bus tour. Because for the Holy Ground Exploration leaders, Dan and Sharon Stolebarger — it’s personal. That is their vision. (more…)

Sue

My time living in Israel has proven to be one of the most spiritual growth times of my life. I told someone after 30 days that I was so ready to come home, but enjoyed every day I was there including the last day in Jerusalem, I found myself wanting to soak up every place we went from day 1 to day 30. Even while we traveled in the vans, I never wanted to sleep or even doze for fear I might miss even the smallest site. Day after day I looked with wonder at God’s land and all the Jewish people we met. (more…)

Anne

As someone from the U.K. who has done numerous trips to Israel since 1988, I have yet to come across anything that could even come close to this one. Why? Well everything from the practical and organizational side, to the choice of sights and hotels is outstanding. But a tour is only ever going to be as good as its guide (and the coach driver) and this is where they excel. Absolutely head and shoulders above anything I’ve experienced!! (more…)

Experience the Bible

We provide life-changing Bible Study Tours to Egypt, Jordan, and Israel that bring the land of the Bible to life.

Why Biblical Study Tours?

Research reveals that 58% of people would read their Bible more often but struggle to understand what they are reading. This leaves them confused, discouraged, and unmotivated to try. The Bible was first written in Hebrew and Greek to an audience who lived thousands of years ago. Context is everything when it comes to reading and understanding the Bible. The more context people know, the more their Bibles make sense!

Our context rich biblical study tours are designed to make the Bible easier to understand by providing experiences and insights through engaging the culture, geography, and history found in the Biblical text.

Out of Egypt, Into a Good Land

Experience God's redemptive story through big hikes and insights

Join a Study Tour

Do you, your family, or your small group want to experience the Bible in its original context? We offer a variety of tours from the physically strenuous to a relaxed cruise so that as many people as possible can experience Egypt, Jordan, and Israel.

All trip dates subject to change.

Create a Study Tour

Are you a pastor or discipleship leader who would like to bring a group (30+ participants) to the Holy Land and the lands of the Bible? Partner with us and we will take care of all the details to lead and develop a study tour that is tailored for your group.

Different Types of Tours

We offer a variety of tours from the physically strenuous to a relaxed cruise so that you can experience Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. Find what type of trip fits you below.

Do you have a specific date in mind?

The Fig Tree Difference

Under the Fig Tree experiences are not your typical tours where tourist sites and gift shops shape the itinerary. Ezekiel 40:4 shapes what we do and how we do it: "See with your eyes, hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I show you for that's why I brought you here. Then go tell Israel..." Our study tours will provide you with both wonderful experiences and deep insights with as many sites and learning experiences that the day will allow.

Academic Excellence

We have spent years walking the land and developing relationships with friends in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. We continue to study the culture, religion, and history of ancient times all to develop deep, relevant and impactful lessons intended to bring clarity to the Biblical narrative. Undergraduate and graduate level credit for certain tours are available through Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

We lead and teach in a way so that the Bible is easier to understand for everyone. We can't wait to share what has been prepared for you!

Servant Leadership

First century disciples would follow their Rabbi as he walked throughout the land teaching with both word and action. Learning from such a Rabbi was described as "sitting at his feet" and was most often done under a fig tree. Fig trees provided cool shade and succulent sweet fruit. Soon, sitting "under the fig tree" became an idiom for someone who sat in the shade of the Rabbi enjoying the sweet fruit of his instruction & wisdom.

Our leaders walk along with you as you grow in your faith. You will experience both refreshing shade and sweet fruit through the teachings as well as the teacher.

Experiential

Location plays a role in shaping life while at the same time gives a glimpse into why God places us where we live today. The Bible contains so many stories of God placing his people in places and situations they'd never choose and yet it is especially there and in those circumstances that he seeks to be known, trusted, and glorified. Many of those "out of the way" places are precisely where we go and, like our ancestors in the faith, we discover His love afresh.

Our tours are not just about going somewhere, it's about being somewhere! Learning and growing is a staple on our tours, but if you're an experiential learner – you'll love and excel on this journey!

George DeJong

Pastor, Historian, & Teacher

George is the Founder and Executive Director of Under the Fig Tree Ministries while continuing to serve as Teaching Pastor at Holland Heights Church in Holland, Michigan. In 1997, a great passion was ignited in George when he first went to Israel with friend and colleague Ray VanderLaan . George has been committed to an ongoing deep study of the Text in its Jewish context as well as its historical and cultural contexts. In turn, not only has George's life and ministry at Holland Heights Church been shaped, but his love for the Word has opened opportunities for studying at Jerusalem University College and serving as a long standing board member of That the World May Know Ministries! Shaped by the rabbinic method, George began leading tours to Israel through Under the Fig Tree Ministries in 2006.

Since then, tour opportunities have broadened to Egypt and Jordan. George's passion for the study and teaching of the Bible has helped others "see with their eyes and hear with their ears" (Ezekiel 40:4). To walk with and learn from George is to experience a rarity - the knowledge of a scholar combined with 35 years of pastoral experience. As our guides in the Middle East often say, "To know George is to love him." A hallmark of George's ministry is not only in enriching those on a study tour but also in developing longstanding relationships with friends in the lands of the Bible where relationships are developed over time and intensely treasured! When asked what is it to walk and learn with George one participant commented: "...it's to be with a wise, caring and learned shepherd, it's being with one of Jesus' trusted under-shepherds".

Eric Schrotenboer

Eric is a storyteller and the founder of The Acacia Project . He is a film maker and music composer who has received numerous awards for his work, including nominations for multiple Emmy awards. Eric studied Bible, Music, and Communication at Hope College, Messianic Judaism at Denver Seminary, and received his Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary.

Dave Lassanske

Historian & Teacher

Dave has helped to produce faith-based videos for over 15 years for Focus on the Family , Zondervan , and Ray Vander Laan that have brought him to Egypt and the Sinai, Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Greece and Rome. He has immersed himself in the study of ancient Egyptian religion with a focus on reading and understanding hieroglyphs. Pared with his pursuit of a masters in Biblical Exegesis, Dave's insightful observations and love for the land adds depth to our tours as he connects the threads of spiritual formation from ancient times to our modern day.

Typical Israel Tour Review : The entire tour experience in Israel with Randall and Beverlee was inspiring, informative, and uplifting! Both Randall and our special tour guide were wonderful and knowledgeable teachers. Not a moment was wasted, and the itinerary was packed with a variety of important biblical site visits and experiences. Our accommodations were all wonderful, and logistics were handled smoothly and efficiently. Daily devotions kept us spiritually grounded and inspired. I consistently felt like I was learning on a safe and well-organized journey.

And how can i choose the “best parts” from among an entire trip of beautiful moments if forced to choose, i would place the following in my “top 10”. (but truly the best part was walking the streets of israel with fellow believers, learning together, and be led by knowledgeable biblical and historical scholars).  participating in the temple mount sifting project: i could have stayed there all day, searching for, and discovering, links to the past  our visit to the temple mount: that was quite a significant experience. i am grateful we were able to walk about the expansive site, learning about the historical and spiritual importance of each area. touching and praying at the wailing wall brought tears to my eyes. sea of galilee: walking alongside the sea and enjoying the special early evening boat ride on the water was one of the most uplifting experiences. our visit there made the setting for jesus’ ministry come alive  witnessing the land’s topography first hand made me appreciate the physical context of the gospels. beth-shan/decapolis: there’s an overwhelming amount of excavated history to see here. it was like time-traveling, and so exciting to provide context for biblical events and culture. one of the most moving experiences of the trip was to stand in the arena of the decapolis where christians were martyred.  terri a.- huntsville, al   (more reviews and picture gallery below tour choices).

Overview of Our Tour

israel tour bible

In 2024, Dr. Randall Price will be making his 113th trip to Israel and the lands of the Bible; most of them guiding groups on tours of Israel, Jordan,Turkey, Greece, and Egypt. He started the Tour part of his ministry after studying at the Hebrew University in Israel and seeing how it changed his perspective and realized a need for pastors in particular and believers in general to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the land of Israel and under-standing the Bible in the context of it’s geographic and cultural setting. Our Israel tours are typically limited to one bus (up to 56 people) to keep the tour personal and allow complete access to Dr. Price and his wife Beverlee during the tour. Very rarely, depending on the tour, this limit will increase beyond one bus.

World of the Bible Tours (WBT) is the tour ministry division of World of the Bible Ministries. WBT organizes and conducts inspirational study tours to the Bible lands to give Christians a firsthand and life-changing experience with the living world of the Bible.

In operation since 1982, World of the Bible Tours has provided thousands of pastors and laymen with a new awareness of the stage upon which the biblical drama unfolded. Special tours to new archaeological sites, lectures by leading political & religious figures, worship services with Israelis, and on-site dramatic recreations are unique features of some of our tours (varies from tour to tour depending on local circumstances), all complemented by our thoroughly biblical-practical and devotional emphasis.

“ Dr. Price came to our church in Redding, CA. At the time I was going through quite a bit of stress and fear about my job, my home life situation, my adult children, etc, and I was having doubts about Jesus and the resurrection. I don’t exactly know why it happened but I was having such a hard time believing in my late 50’s. Dr. Price preached that day, and the way he laid out the gospels and the faith of the disciples opened my eyes, my heart, and my faith. I have never forgotten his message and was so appreciative. I am so appreciative of his message and for bringing me back to the truth of the gospels. ” Jan Tischler
“ I first heard Randall Price speak about 14 years ago at a conference. His presentation was so interesting I returned to the same conference the next year. After experiencing Dr. Price’s vast knowledge of the Bible, archaeology, and prophecy while on The World of the Bible tour, I purchased several of his teaching DVDs. Our Bible study group has watched and appreciated them all. ” Patti Dillistone
“ Randall Price has a passion for the truth. His work in discovery and presentation of the truths found in the Bible are supported by the evidence he has helped uncover on Earth. His efforts are wrapped in excellence and have had a profound impact on my witness to others and to so many others worldwide! ” Thomas Herrod

Israel Bible Tour - Explore Israel With The Bible In Hand

israel tour bible

And many nations shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

- Micah 4:2

It has been said that once you visit israel, you will never be the same., virtually everyone who returns from a trip to israel confirms the truth of that statement..

From the moment you step off the plane onto Israeli soil, you can sense that there is something special and holy about this land. There is a sense of spiritual anticipation as you consider what you are about to see and experience. A visit to the Land of the Bible is truly transformational. You will never be the same…

Traveling through this Holy Land will deepen your relationship with God.

However, studying the scriptures as you visit biblical sites will challenge perceptions and change the way you read your Bible. Many have said that the Bible comes alive once you walk in the footsteps of Jesus, the Prophets, and the Apostles.

Having a tour host or tour guide who opens the Word of God at each biblical site offers scriptural context beyond mere archaeological or historical facts. Combining history with Jewish culture and biblical teaching produces life-changing insights that ignite spiritual growth and understanding. For example:

israel tour bible

Caesarea Maritima was a large Herodian port city with all the amenities a large city of the time had to offer. But it was also where Peter first shared the Gospel with Gentiles in the house of Cornelius (Acts 10)—and it was the city where Paul was imprisoned and testified about his faith before Governor Festus, Governor Felix, King Festus, and his sister Bernice (Acts 25-26).

Caesarea Philippi was a pagan city with a temple to Pan cut into tall rocks. This was the backdrop for Jesus to tell the disciples that the church was to be built upon the Rock, Jesus himself. Imagine the disciples’ reaction to this holy aha moment. Context makes all the difference!

Experiencing Israel like this allows the Scripture to come in full color with profound clarity and dimension. Understanding the culture, history, and geography makes your faith more tangible.

More than anywhere else in the world, Israel is the place where documented biblical and historic events come to life.

Using the Bible as a contextual map ensures you will never read scripture the same way.

You can also derive more from your Holy Land tour if you invest some time preparing prior to your trip. Start by learning the basic Israeli geography with a Bible Atlas. To begin with, while the geography of Israel is very diverse, Israel can be broken into four basic regions:

• The Coastal Plain (along the Mediterranean Sea)

• The Central Hills (includes Upper and Lower Galilee)

• Jordan Rift Valley (originates in Caesarea Philippi, continues through the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea, and on to the Gulf of Eilat)

• Negev Desert (wilderness region covering most of southern Israel)

Next, you may want to learn about Jerusalem , made up of hills and valleys, with Mount Moriah at the center; or the Old City, which is divided into four quarters: Jewish, Christian, Arab, and Armenian.

The more you learn about Israel before visiting the Holy Land, the richer your actual experience will be. You can also maximize your time in the Holy Land by beginning with devotionals prior to your journey.

Spend time in prayer prior to your tour and ask God to give you spiritual insight and clarity of what you see and experience.

If you want to learn more about Israel before coming here, visit our free educational tool - Sar-El Academy .

A visit to Israel will deepen your faith and enlighten your understanding of the Word of God.

With the Bible in hand, you will find the Land of the Bible brings the stories of the Scriptures to life. There is truly no other place like Israel. Once you visit Israel, you will never be the same!

Sar-El Tours has the time-tested experience and knowledge to help you plan the journey of a lifetime. With over 30 years of experience, Sar-El Tours has become one of the largest and most-trusted agencies focused on Christian tourism to Israel.

Sar-El provides over 300 highly knowledgeable, licensed Israeli tour guides who work with you to ensure your trip to Israel is outstanding from beginning to end. Visiting Israel is a life-changing experience—let Sar-El Tours be your partner in Israel.

September 2024 Bible Experience Tour

November 2024 bible experience south tour, december 2024 bible experience tour, tour reviews.

I can’t tell you enough how wonderful our trip was to Israel! It was above and beyond any expectations I had.
Amir was such a blessing as we were SO inspired and filled with his teaching of the word. Our guide was amazing and we grew quite attached to him.
… this trip was worth every cent…
The hotels, the food, the first-class bus – what a first-class experience..
This was my third tour of Israel, the first being 10 years ago, and this is by far the best one.
We visited so many places and I learned so much about Israel and the Bible. I LOVED all the excellent accommodations and the superb meals. The fact that I could focus on the tour and the teaching and not have to think about where and when to purchase meals was a huge plus for me.
The trip hotels, food, and tours greatly exceeded my expectations. I was truly blown away how much you guys paid attention to every detail. Gosh, you made every second from our landing in Tel Aviv to dropping us back off at the airport totally safe, secure, and effortless.

Tour leader and teacher -- joel kramer.

Having lived in Jerusalem for almost ten years and earned a Masters Degree in Archaeology from the University of the Holy Land, Joel is a highly sought after tour leader and teacher.

A pastor for a number of years before moving his family to Israel, Joel powerfully weaves together his understanding of Biblical archaeology and his belief in the truth of the Bible.

While he has participated in numerous digs with world-renowned archaeologists at sites such as The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and The Mount Zion Dig in Jerusalem,  Joel is best known for his teaching related to the archaeology of Jericho.  In 2010 he produced a film, Jericho Unearthed, which explains how the archaeology there, though disputed by some, lines up perfectly with the Biblical account of Joshua's conquest of Jericho.

Joel teaches passionately about archaeology and how it relates to the Bible; however, his teaching style isn't, "believe me because I say so."  Instead he offers direct source material: archaeology reports, published books and journal articles, aerial photographs, linguistic references, historical records, ancient texts and the Bible.  His desire is deeper than just to convince you of the validity and profoundness of the Bible.  He wants to equip you to convince others!

Joel's unique specialty is his understanding of archaeological and Biblical locations in the West Bank.  Numerous significant sites are found there, but many tours to Israel miss out on these important places.  A few examples are Tel Balata (ancient Shechem) where Abraham first entered the land of Canaan, which Jacob later made his home; and, where one can still stand, looking up at Mount Gerazim and Mount Ebal, and imagine hearing the Israelites echoing blessings and curses back to each other. Another site, Mamre, commemorates where the announcement was made to Abraham and Sarah that Isaac, the long-promised son, was finally going to be born.  Still today, Jacob's Well offers refreshing water as it did for Jesus and the Samaritan woman.

After touring and learning with Joel, you will have a powerful perspective that unites Biblical truth with clear evidence. At the end of your time with Joel, reading your Bible will be a rich, new experience!
