The Journey
Customer ratings and reviews.
This was my first visit with my families. Best fried seafood I've had in a long time. I had an oysters and shrimp. Just delicious. Huge servings too, crabs, steak, fries and slaw, It's a fun atmosphere too. I'll be back over and over. my boys love the rice. it taste really good. They also have Good and friendly staffs.
We went during lunch on a Sunday. They were really busy and very crowded but the food was excellent and the service was great! This was my second time coming and my families first time. There was something for everyone. We all left full and satisfied!
I thought this place was overrated. Maybe it's because I don't love fried foods and grease. The prime rib was good though and so were various dishes. Servers were very friendly. For all you can eat seafood, it's a good price. But there were practically no vegetable side dishes. That is my reason for 3 stars. There was lettuce for a salad, seaweed salad, and some time of green bean dish that was smothered in sauce. So if you eat a balanced diet or eat healthy in general, I wouldn't recommend this place. However, I can see why the typical person does.
The price is great and the staff was fantastic. One of the best smorgasbord dining experience yet. The prime rib easy perfect, the sushi was all fresh. A very large variety of all types for everyone.just when you think your done. They have large section of fruit and veggies, not to mention dessert, fabulous. !!!!
The best part of this buffet is it's size and options. This is a very large buffet with several sections. The salad bar is fresh But pretty standard for a Chinese buffet. They do include the cold baby squid and peel and eat shrimp. There is a Dim sum. Some exotic items. Some American items including prime rib and other meats which are carved to order. There are quite a few traditional Chinese dishes. And there is a huge sushi bar. The sushi is slightly above "grocery store sushi" quality. But the variety makes up for that. And if you want excellent sushi then go to a sushi bar. But if you want to eat well and leave satisfied then this is a good place.

āSeafood Buffet and Moreā Review of The Journey
Got here with a friend at about 12:40pm on a Sunday afternoon (New Yearās Eve). There were lots of people, but no wait time. Many choices āflounder, crab, shrimp, mussels, steak, ribs, steamed cabbage, many kinds of sushi, and cold salads, fruit and desserts. I didnāt get any soup, but I got very good flounder, sushi, green beans, cabbage, corn, shrimp, shrimp cakes, steak and a bit of dessert. An excellent meal, and the way the restaurant is partitioned off, it didnāt seem as busy as it was. Good service, and excellent food! Thank you!

The outside of the restaurant was very inviting. It was nicely decorated for Christmas. The interior was very large with multiple buffet bars. The selection was huge, from sushi bar , to prime rib and crab legs, and ending up with several desserts The food however, was disappointing after the reviews we were given. My husband tried 15 types of sushi and did not find any that enticed him to eat more. The prime rib was good if you liked it cooked rare. I would recommend the coconut shrimp. We have no desire to dine there again. Maybe we were there on a poor night.n
The food was good and flavored well for the most part. Lots of options, including seafood, sushi, and American items. I never found the prime rib. The steak was so chewy that I gave up on it. My husband liked the sushi. Dessert was disappointing. We only waited 5 minutes to be seated as the restaurant is fairly large in seating capacity. Cost was $50 for two kids and two adults for Saturday lunch. We were satisfied overall with the meal and our server was very attentive. My 3* rating is the direct result of the lack of cleanliness. The smell next to the buffet was repulsive and the prep/cook areas that were visible disgusting. Also, the age os the restaurant is definately showing as the chairs are worn and cracks in the decor/walls. I'm not sure I will return, maybe if my family really really wanted to.
We enjoyed The Journey in September and really enjoyed it for dinner. I was craving crab legs so we went back last weekend. This time they did not have fried shrimp which was disappointing. I also began to panic when I couldn't find the crab legs. They are now behind a glass panel and you are now limited to two clusters at a time to be given to you by an employee. My guess is a few people ruined it for the rest of us by wasting food. Some of the crab legs were OK, others had been sitting way too long and were near impossible to get our of their shell. Most of the other food that we tried was OK, but very, very salty. (with the exception of the crab cakes which tasted like eating a lemon!) The chocolate fountain was not working until just before we left. However, the crab rangoons are still some of the most stuffed ones I've ever seen. Over all, the experience and quality was much different and less enjoyable.
Need that fix but not sure what you want - go the The Journey. There is something for everyone. The sushi is perfect if you ever wanted to try something new without feeling like you wasted your money. The coconut shrimp - to die for!!!! Go for lunch M-F since it's cheaper then dinner or weekends, pretty much the same food options

On a Sunday afternoon after leaving church services I decided to go get a bite to eat. Upon being seated as a single person in a ... very busy restaurant, before I even sat down, the waitress looked at me standing right in front of me, and exclaimed just oneperson!! I said yes I?m dining alone by choice. I politely said are you disappointed, I assure you I am easy to please, I toldher I don?t eat much, I am polite, and I tip very very well. She took my drink order, Hot tea and ice water and trudged away. Ihad my customary small meal drank nearly the entire pot of green tea and ask for my check. She brought back my check and startedturning on her heel to walk away and I stopped her to speak to her. I let her know that in this world even though I am oneperson sitting alone enjoying a meal it is by choice. I told her what if my husband passed away, what if I had no children orfriends to accompany me? I should be given the same respect as anybody else whether I?m sitting alone as a single person, or ifI bring six people with me walking in to her area. I know this was rather lengthy but hopefully if you read it and you?re asingle person choosing to sit alone enjoying a lovely meal or you are alone because you have lost a loved one and you have nocompanion you will gently remind your server that kindness goes along way whether you?re one person or six people and she?sreliant on that tip. I tipped her very well but I will not be back. By choice. Read more
If I can give no stars I absolutely would. I went and I?d never been before the food actually made me sick I went into the ... bathroom and threw it all up I got the manager and she refused to take my buffet and my mother?s buffet off of the bill becausewe we did not eat the food. I quote the manager said you should be able to tell if you like the food by looking at it. How areyou supposed to tell if you like food by looking at it? My kids eat the food and I would willingly pay for their stuff however Iabsolutely detested the food. Don?t go here if you can?t visually taste food. Not to mention they just opened when I went at 5o?clock and the food was already cold. The manager continued to argue with me that the food was not cold at the table in frontof everyone. Read more

Waitress was very attentive without us even being aware of her, ourdrinks stayed full and plates cleared without being bothered. Price was great for what we got - two people ate to the bustingpoint for less than $40! Can?t beat that! Everything I tried was pretty good. Have I had better food ?probably. Have I hadworse? Most definitely! Over all as far as buffets go this Is one of the better I?ve been to. Read more

Max azzarello struggled with depression before self-immolation outside trump trial as friends mourn ābrilliantā conspiracy theorist: āalmost too smartā.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.
Loneliness, conspiracy theories and loss apparently drove the troubled man who set himself on fire this week across the street from the courthouse where former President Donald Trump is on trial.
The final, fatal act was a tragic denouement in the life of Max Azzarello, who friends described as intelligent and kind — but somewhat depressed, and still reeling from the 2022 death of his mother, who he followed when he moved to Florida a few years ago.
Azzarello, 37, grew up on Long Island’s North Shore, in the tiny village of Sea Cliff, and moved to Florida, following his parents.
“He was the grandest man I ever met in my life and I adored him,” Jamie Black, 63, of Sea Cliff, who was friends with Max’s late mother, Libby, and had known him since he was about 8.
“He was brilliant and one of my closest friends. I am devastated.”
Sources who knew Azzarello said he was prescribed anti-depressants, along with Adderall, in his earlier years, and fairly recently started taking amphetamines.
Azzarello was “almost too smart,” Black said.
“He was so caring and kind and hilarious and he was brought up in a great family. I don’t think he had any mental illness. I think he was just too smart.”
Azzarello’s lifelong friend, Daniel Carleton, who went to middle school and high school with Azzarello and roomed with him at UNC-Chapel Hill for four years, said he always had some mental health issues.
“There may have been a chemical imbalance there that was made worse by substance abuse but there was no specific diagnosis,” he said.
Azzarello was lonely, Carleton said. Azzarello, who was straight, never seemed to have a girlfriend, he added.
He was very close, however, to his sister Katherine, 38, who lives in Brooklyn.
“He’s always been very smart, since middle school,” Carleton told The Post.
“He was good guy and he was always political.”
“He was alone for a long time and I think it was a major contributor to his decline,” he added.
“His family is great. They knew he had issues and they had him checked into a mental health facility last year but they couldn’t keep him past a three-day hold.”
“Max was smart enough to game the system and fool the system. The mental health system actually failed him.”
Azzarello took a turn for the worse with the start of 2023, not long after his mother died, Carleton said.
He quit what had been a series of well-paying tech consultant jobs by the end of 2022.
When news broke in March 2023 that the Silicon Valley Bank had suddenly collapsed, Azzarello became obsessed.
The financial institution ā a 40-year-old lender to startups and venture capitalists ā became the second-biggest bank casualty in US history when it was abruptly shut down by regulators.
Billionaire Peter Thiel had urged startups to pull their cash or risk losing it entirely ahead of the bankās failure.
“He somehow connected Thiel to all that and went down this huge rabbit hole and started posting crazy conspiracies,” Carleton said.
“The drugs were out of control in 2023.”

Never miss a story.
Azzarello was arrested three times in Florida last year, including for throwing wine at a framed autograph featuring Bill Clinton, according to police records.
He was jailed Aug. 21 and remained there until Oct. 3, when he was sentenced to 180 days of probation and released.
“He was passionate that government and business elites screwed over the common person and he wanted to fight that. He wanted to start a revolution so much so that he was willing to light himself on fire to get his message out.”
Carleton said Azzarello had been sober since his jail stint.
Azzarello had posted his admiration for Aaron Bushnell, the young airman who self-immolated outside the Israeli embassy in Washington DC last month.
Like a number of his friends, Carleton wanted the positive side of Azzarello remembered.
Azzarello was considered an elite online chess player with a peak rating of over 2000 points which put him in the 96th percentile of online chess players, Carleton said.
“We played chess on the chess app and our last game was two weeks ago and he beat me and I’m a pretty good player,” Carleton said.
“So you can see he was still thinking rationally.”
