Safari Outfit Ideas to Pack When You Finally Take That Dream Trip

Packing for a safari is a science: You need to be prepared for changing temperatures, high sun, and plenty of dust, as well as cocktail hour and a dip in the pool—and all of your safari outfits, plus toiletries and gear, have to fit in a soft-sided duffel with a strict weight limit. We polled our resident experts and trusted specialists for safari outfit ideas, whether you're staying in a luxe tented camp on the Okavango Delta in Botwsana or traversing the Sabi Sands game reserve in South Africa . Note that most safari outfitters will provide travelers with an itemized packing list, so check with yours about specifics (as well as any vaccines or medications you might need) before you go.

Getting there

Most safari camps are only accessible by small propeller planes, which don’t allow hard-sided luggage. Don't forget a hat to help keep your skin protected under the harsh midday sun.

Around camp

You’ll want casual, cozy clothes to wear while you’re lounging around camp in between your daily excursions. A durable sandal with some grip will work just fine, and don’t forget a bathing suit —many lodges or tented camps have gorgeous pools.

Safari chic dinner

Some travelers like to have a more dressed-up option for cocktail hour and dinner back at camp—think flowy, breezy dresses, flats that can withstand a little dust, and a warm scarf to wrap yourself up in. Jumpsuits are a great option since it eliminates having to pack both tops and bottoms for evenings. In terms of accessories, leave any really blingy jewelry at home and opt for a more simple, pared down look.

Taman Safari, Modern Zoological Garden with Various Collections of Flora and Fauna

Bogor Botanical Garden is located in Bogor city and spread about 87 hectares with the impressive out-of-town Bogor Presidential Palace fronting it and soaring Mt. Salak at its background and boasts over 400 species of palm trees, 5,000 trees gathered from around the tropical world, and an orchid house containing 3,000 varieties. Records show that the Bogor Botanical Gardens harbours 3,504 plant species, 1,273 genus in 199 families.

The Gardens are said to have been initiated by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who, between 1811-1816, became Governor General of the East Indies during the interim reign of the British over the archipelago. With the help of botanists from London’s famed Kew Gardens, Raffles first laid out a small garden. However, the Gardens were officially established by the Dutch in 1817 under the directorship of CGC Reinwardt. A memorial to Raffles’ wife still stands in the Gardens. The Bogor Gardens today function as an ex situ conservation site, a research center for taxonomy and plant utilization. In horticulture the Gardens study adaptation, planting and propagation of plants and develop the science of plant growing.

The Gardens are open daily to visitors. There are paved walkways for visitors to stroll at leisure to admire the variety of old, gnarled trees, walk under the canopy of their foliage and listen to the river rushing over large boulders. On Sundays and public holidays, the Gardens are usually very crowded.

From Jakarta , you can rent a car (complete with a chauffeur) to go to Bogor. As mentioned above, the journey to Bogor will be about one hour. Be advised that the traffic on weekends and long holidays will be more packed.

Mengenal Model Baju Safari Dan Ciri Khasnya

Baju safari itu seperti apa sih? Saat mendengar istilah baju safari, mungkin kamu akan langsung terpikirkan busana adat yang dikenakan pria Bali. Yaps, baju safari memang sering dipakai kaum lelaki di Bali.

Sebenarnya baju safari adalah busana pria bermodel jas yang memiliki saku di bagian depan. Meski desainnya sangat mirip jas tetapi bagian kerah baju safari dibuat berbeda karena menggunakan variasi garis kerah.

Sejarah Baju Safari

Sejak abad ke-19, baju safari digunakan sebagai seragam dinas para prajurit Eropa yang bertugas di daerah beriklim panas. Busana safari juga dipakai oleh orang-orang yang gemar berpetualang ke wilayah hutan Afrika. Dahulu bajunya berwarna khaki lalu dipadukan dengan celana panjang atau pendek berwarna senada dan ikat pinggang.

Dengan karakter bahan yang ringan dan dilengkapi beberapa kantong setelan, baju safari akan nyaman dipakai saat menyusuri hutan. Namun setelah perang Dunia II, desain baju safari mengalami banyak perubahan.

Saat ini, model baju safari digunakan oleh instansi-instansi pemerintahan sebagai seragam kerja. Sebut saja aparat keamanan seperti security dan paspampers (pasukan pengamanan presiden). Set baju safari berwarna hitam selalu menjadi ciri khas anggotanya ketika bertugas.

Baju mirip jas tersebut perlahan mulai berevolusi dan menjadi tren busana bergaya formal yang disukai kaum pria. Ketepatan padu padan baju safari akan menciptakan kesan lebih professional dan berwibawa. Sehingga akan terlihat bagus dipakai pada kesempatan-kesempatan formal.

Ciri Khas Model Baju Safari

Sebagai pakaian pria untuk keperluan resmi dan seragam kerja para eksekutif, tentu baju safari berbeda dengan busana lainnya. Perbedaan detail dan teknik pembuatan tersebut menghasilkan ciri khas tersendiri.

1.        Kerah baju

Bentuk kerah baju safari dibuat sederhana dengan sedikit variasi agar tetap menonjolkan kesan minimalis. Contohnya yaitu kerah sport yang merupakan pengembangan kerah rebah tanpa penegak. Kadang bagian muka kerah baju safari juga diberi garis hias.

2.        Saku

Ciri khas b aju safari yaitu mempunyai tiga sampai empat buah saku di sisi depan . Jenis saku bisa berupa passpoile, saku luar atau saku safari. Beberapa baju safari dilengkapi saku pada bagian dalam.

3.        Lengan baju

Bagian   lengan baju safari bisa dibuat panjang atau pendek sesuai keinginan. Untuk lengan panjang, ujungnya dilengkapi cuff serta kancing.

4.        Siluet

B aju safari biasanya mem bentuk garis S atau garis H dan ber potongan sporty . T erdapat aksen benang merah di bagian kerah dan bahu.

5.        Warna baju safari

Kebanyakan baju safari dibuat menggunakan warna-warna netral seperti krem, putih, hitam, abu-abu, dan coklat. Seiring popularitasnya, baju safari tersedia dalam berbagai variasi warna.

6.        Garis hias

Karakter khas baju safari berikutnya yaitu memiliki banyak garis hias. Bentuk garis hiasnya sangat beragam, ada yang berupa garis h orizontal, vertikal, garis saku dekoratif dan garis lipit dekoratif . Keberadaan garis-garis ini akan memperindah tampilan, terutama pada baju safari wanita.

7.        Bahan kain

Biasanya b aju safari dibuat dari bahan kain yang tidak mudah kusut, tebal dan tenunan serat cukup rapat . Diantara jenis kain yang paling populer dalam pembuatan baju safari adalah kain drill katun, polyester atau kombinasi keduanya. Seperti Nagata drill, American drill, chinos dan lain sebagainya.

8.        Proses pembuatan

Berdasarkan proses pembuatannya, baju safari termasuk busana semi tailoring. Karakter busana semi tailoring diantaranya yaitu:

·          Teknik menjahitnya sederhana dan tidak banyak menggunakan tangan

·          Finishing jahit dengan kampuh terbuka lalu ditutup obras

·          Penggunaan lining pada busana semi tailoring (safari) tak sebanyak baju tailoring (jas)

·          Bahan pelapis atau lining menggunakan kain blacu yang sudah direndam

·          Model bajunya lebih luwes karena bahan pelapisnya hanya setengah

Creative Process

The Inspiration Behind Varuna At Taman Safari Bali, the inception of Varuna was inspired by the enchanting underwater world of Bali and its rich cultural heritage. Our journey of creativity began with the aspiration to intertwine these elements into an extraordinary theatrical narrative.

From Concept to Reality Transforming Varuna from a mere concept into a tangible experience was a journey of artistic vision and technical mastery. Under the guidance of Creative Director Peter Wilson, our production team, including experts like Patrick Larsen, Ian Knowles, I Made Sidia, and Benöit Justras, worked collaboratively to bring this vision to life. Their combined expertise in design, storytelling, and technology ensured a seamless blend of Balinese artistry and modern innovation.

A Collaborative Masterpiece The creation of Varuna was a symphony of collaboration, drawing on the skills and passion of a diverse team.
