Park sleep and Cruise from New York
New york cruise terminals.
New York Cruise terminals are located in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. They offer passengers easy access to parking as well as convenient embarking and disembarking procedures.
The Manhattan Cruise Terminal was established as the New York City Passenger Ship Terminal in the 1930s. During the early twentieth century half dozen of the world's greatest passenger ships docked side by side from Piers 84 to 94-a stretch that became known as Luxury Liner Row-starting with the Normandie in 1935, followed by the Queen Mary the following year and the Queen Elizabeth after the outbreak of World War II. During the war, thousands of GI's embarked on the latter two ships for the European theater of war-16,683 at once when the Queen Mary departed from Pier 90 in July 1943.
Kings, queens and Hollywood royalty enjoyed luxurious post-war cruises, departing from the Terminal in great numbers. Despite the advent of affordable air travel in the 1950s, cruising enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in the 1960s, with Bermuda as a popular destination. Following renovation of the piers in 1970, the Terminal has served the expanding cruise travel business, and continued its historical role of providing embarkation for all transatlantic crossings.
The Manhattan Cruise Terminal is managed by Ports America, a private terminal management company under contract with the City’s representative agency. The terminal handles over 130 cruise calls and 600,000 passengers each year. It is the fourth busiest cruise terminal in the US. The terminal is the primary home port for trans-Atlantic crossings from Europe. Other itineraries include Bermuda, Canada and the Caribbean.
Major cruise lines that depart from Manhattan Cruise Terminal include Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Crystal Cruises, Seven Seas Cruises, Silversea and Seaborn.
Brooklyn's historic waterfront served as the gateway for the nation's goods and people for more than 150 years. Pier 12, developed just prior to the Civil War, has almost exclusively served as a cargo pier for all types of goods, up until 2005 handled ships laden with New York City's road salt being transformed into its newest luxury cruise ship terminal.
The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is managed jointly by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey (PANYNJ).

Guide to New York Cruise Parking (Cape Liberty, Manhattan, Brooklyn)
Unfortunately, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that parking for a New York cruise is a bit of a hassle… and expensive. As one of the most densely populated cities in America, parking is a precious resource.
Unlike other departure ports where there is plenty of space around the port for parking (including independent lots that usually charge less than the ports), that not the case in Manhattan, Cape Liberty, or Brooklyn.
That said, while you may not have as many options outside of the port as you would sailing from elsewhere around the country, each cruise terminal in the area does offer on-site parking just steps from the ship.
Below, we’ve rounded up your parking options for each of the three cruise ports servicing the New York area. This includes the official port parking and any third-party lots that also cater to cruisers.
Scroll down to find your best option, depending on the port from which you sail.
Cape Liberty Cruise Parking Options
Located on the Jersey side of the New York area, Cape Liberty is most notably home to Royal Caribbean’s ships. The port area offers a few options for parking, but expect to pay upwards of $20 per day, no matter where you decide to leave your vehicle. Here is an overview of your options…
Official Port Parking The Cape Liberty terminal offers a parking garage next to the cruise terminal, within just steps of the ship. The garage charges $22 per day to park, so for a week-long cruise, expect to shell out $150+ in parking alone.
Don’t worry about reserving a spot, as they aren’t needed. In addition, all major credit cards and cash are welcome. If you have an RV or other large vehicle (camper, etc.) then expect to pay double the daily rate. Still, it’s hard to beat the convenience of being able to drive right up to the ship and park.
- Cost: $22 per day
- Distance: At terminal
- Website: http://www.cruiseliberty.com/directions_parking.html
Park2Go This parking lot is located about 20 minutes from the cruise port, and just south of Newark International Airport. It’s certainly not as convenient as parking right at the port, but in exchange you get a much cheaper rate.
The rate is $16 per day for outside parking and $18 for indoor parking. However, we often see specials for rates of $13/$14 for parking. That savings of $9 per day off the port’s rates can save you about $50 on a week’s parking while you cruise.
There is also a free shuttle back and forth from the port. Reservations are required.
- Cost: $16 inside | $18 outside
- Distance: 10.5 miles | 20 minutes
- Website: http://www.park2go.com/seaport-parking
Newark Airport Parking It’s a bit of a workaround, but Cape Liberty’s location near Newark International Airport provides a creative way to park for your cruise.
Parking lots that cater to the airport offer per day parking for as little as $9 — more than 50% off the price of official port parking. The thing is that these parking lots don’t offer rides to the cruise port.
Instead, you’ll have to park and then find your own transportation (a taxi or Uber/Lyft ) to get to the cruise port and return after your trip. Depending on your budget, this may still be worth it versus the convenience of simply parking at Cape Liberty.
Manhattan Terminal Cruise Parking
Parking in Manhattan? Yep, it’s tough. Luckily, there is parking right at the cruise port and some other options within the area.
Official Port Parking By far the most convenient parking is the official port parking that’s located right at the cruise piers. You simply pull in, park, unload, and check in for your trip. There is no worrying about shuttles or transportation to the port. Of course, you’ll pay for this convenience.
Parking rates are $40 per day at the Manhattan Terminal. Going on a longer trip? Parking over 11 nights is a flat $400. No reservations are accepted; parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. The port accepts Visa, MasterCard, and cash. Your vehicle must be less than 8 feet high to park.
Frankly, given the expense of parking here, it’s a good idea to use alternate transportation to cruise from Manhattan .
Cost: $40 per day Distance: At terminal Website: https://www.nycruise.com/manhattan-terminal/parking/
Manhattan Cruise Parking (ParkRight) ParkRight is located just a few blocks south of the cruise terminal, but will save you big on cruise parking. Book online and the price for a week’s parking is $29 per day and $33 for SUVs and minivans. Reservations are required.
Note that pickup trucks are not allowed.
Instead of a shuttle, a parking attendant will take you to the terminal in your own vehicle, drop you off, and then valet your car to their parking lot. When you return, you’ll need to catch a cab back to the parking lot to get your car.
Cost: $29 per day (cars) | $33 (SUV/mini-van) Distance: 1 mile | 5 minutes Website: http://www.manhattancruiseparking.com/
ParkNSave ParkNSave offers parking lots that are just a few blocks north of the cruise terminals. Specifically, it has the 601 West 57th Street Parking Garage for cruise passengers.
You won’t save money by parking here, as the daily rate is $40 per day. If you drive an oversized vehicle (pretty much any mid-sized SUV/truck and above), then parking is $70 per day.
Reservations are definitely needed and you will need to find transport to and from the terminal. We’d suggest most people simply park at the cruise port as it’s the same price and more convenient.
Cost: $40 per day Distance: 0.8 miles | 4 minutes Website: http://parknsave.com
Brooklyn Terminal Cruise Parking
The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is not near as busy as the Manhattan and Cape Liberty ports, so that makes things a bit easier in navigating parking and embarkation on cruise day. If you are sailing aboard the Queen Mary 2, Silversea Cruises, or Princess Cruises, then the Brooklyn port will be your point of boarding.
Frankly, there aren’t many options other than the official port parking. Yes, there are lots around the city, but they don’t cater to cruisers and their prices aren’t enough of a difference to make it worth the time and hassle of parking elsewhere and then coming back to the port to cruise.
Official Port Parking The port’s parking lot is a surface lot right next to the terminal, meaning it’s only a short walk to the ship. Rates run $25 a day, with a day being anything over four hours. So on a week’s cruise, expect to pay $200 for parking.
Given that expense, it’s ideal to find alternate transportation to the cruise port if you can. If you do park here, no reservations are needed and SUVs are welcome without an additional charge. Cash and major credit cards are accepted.
Cost: $25 per day (day is more than 4 hours) Distance: At terminal Website: http://www.nycruise.com/brooklyn-terminal/parking/

The Manhattan Cruise Terminal is located in Hell's Kitchen off of West 54th Street and 12th Avenue, and serves as New York City's main terminal for boarding and disembarking cruise liners and other large passenger ships. Piers 88 and 90 serve some of the largest ships in the world, and Manhattan Cruise Terminal happens to be the oldest terminal of its type in the United States.
If you're taking a cruise that leaves New York City, SpotHero can help you find parking near Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
Is there free parking near Manhattan Cruise Terminal?
Manhattan Cruise Terminal does not offer short-term parking, but they do have a dedicated lot for cruise parking that works on a revolving basis based on when ships arrive and passengers complete customs. For free street parking, there is no parking allowed on 12th Avenue, as it is the entrance to the West Side Highway. There is a limited amount of street parking on West 54th Street on just one side, so you are more likely to find free parking spaces between 10th and 11th avenues south of 54th Street as 57th-59th streets are major thoroughfares that see a great deal of traffic.
Does SpotHero work with parking facilities near the Manhattan Cruise Terminal?
Yes, SpotHero works with numerous parking garages just a short walk from the terminal.

Hotel with parking and shuttle to Manhattan port

Looking for a hotel that offers a shuttle and parking for a cruise mid September. We would need it for a one night stay and looking for safe and clean, we don’t need fancy. The one I had heard of is sold out.

None that I know of that offer a shuttle to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Certainly none in Manhattan proper but I don't believe any in New Jersey either. There are hotels that offer a park and cruise package in NJ but not a shuttle.
The only possibilities will be in New Jersey.
At one time two hotels in Ridgefield Park, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Hampton Inn offered packages that included transportation to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal . Check them out to see if they still do.
Also Trinityreservations.com has usually offered some hotels that have packages including transportation to Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Check their website.

Thanks for your info! I called the Hampton inn and it is $309 plus taxes for one night and up to 10 nights parking as well as the shuttle to and from the port. Thanks again!
Hi. I myself am looking for one- I have found two- Both pretty pricey-
Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott North Bergen- The offer a sleep, park, cruise package- includes a shuttle. For our Oct 2023 date is was $500 for the night.
There also is Hampton in the Ridgefield, NJ that offers the same kind of package, a little cheaper that the Fairfield at about $400. These are the only two I can find so far.
More than we want to spend as we are only about a 2 hour drive from Manhattan in PA. Right now planning to just park at the cruise terminal. Hope this helps.

I knew there was (or used to be) a hotel/cruise package in North Bergen but could not recall which hotel, thanks. At the prices quoted and your close proximity to the port, I would not use the package either. If you are looking for less expensive parking option NY Waterways has a parking garage & ferry terminal in Weehawken, NJ. Add the expense of the ferry & transportation from the NY ferry dock to/from MCT.

Parking at the Manhattan cruise terminal is 45 per night, so if it's a 7 day cruise, that's 315. Plus you can add in the Lincoln Tunnel toll at 13.75. So if you can get the Stay, park and shuttle for around 350 at the hampton Inn, it's worth it for the extra 20 bucks.

Please see ny response to your post on the other thread. To summarize it, you're ignoring the additional time that using a shuttle NJ back to a NJ hotel will take, and if money is the biggest consideration it would be much cheaper to park at Port Imperial in Weehawken and take the ferry to Manhattan.

I can’t agree more, why would one park at a hotel they don’t need to stay at just to pay a bit more and have to travel back to the hotel before getting on the road to go home? Heck we drive the 25 minutes to the port from NJ and pay to park, we could save money parking at the ferry, but would rather spend more to be able to walk to our vehicle from the ship with no waiting involved.

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to spoil your mom this weekend!
My mom is my best friend, and with May 12 coming up in just a matter of days, I know I want to gift her something more than just a bouquet of flowers.
One gift idea I’ve been toying with, because I think it is way more valuable than any physical gift, is an experience that can make memories that last forever.
And this Mother’s Day , my plan is to gift exactly that.
While my mom always says she has fun doing anything as long as I’m there, it is important for me to plan something she will never forget, and want to go back and do it again!
From brunches to Broadway plays , here are 5 experiences I would totally take my mom to this Mother’s Day weekend.
5 Mother’s Day experiences for my mom
“the great gatsby” on broadway.
There is nothing better than taking a trip into New York City for a dinner and show, especially if it is a Broadway show. My mom always been a fan of the “The Great Gatsby” book, so I know securing tickets for this play would totally make her dreams comes true. For this Mother’s Day weekend in particular, show times are at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. You can find tickets for the play here .
A Weekend Away to Cape May
If there is one thing about my mom and I, it’s that we love a nice weekend away. If we want to stay local for the weekend, then a perfect trip away is to Cape May. The weather is getting warmer, the iconic beach town will be less crowded and the restaurants are ready for business. From B&B ’s to cute beachside hotels , there is no shortage of places to stay right now. You can look for hotels and places to stay here .

If tea is involved, you can sign my mom and I right up! This Saturday activity takes place in Jersey City, where guests can create their own tea blends, craft homemade candles and small bites to enjoy. You don’t want to miss out on this activity, so you can find all the information here .
Mud & Merlot: Pottery Edition Experience
Last Mother’s Day my mom and I did a painting class, so why not keep the artistic theme going with a pottery class! This activity takes place in New York City on the Friday of Mother’s Day weekend at a pottery studio in the Bowery. The class is beginner friendly and BYOB is encouraged! Participants will learn the basics of wheel throwing and watch a demo on making cups and bowls before diving in yourselves! You can find all the information here .
Central Park Yoga Classes in Sheep’s Meadow
What better way to start any day of Mother’s Day weekend than with a relaxing yoga class. This class takes place in Central Park for one hour, with the goal to discover, “inner peace while the urban jungle continues to buzz around us.” If you want more information on this class, you can find all the information here .
While these are activities that my mom would like specifically, there are tons of other unique activities for every kind of mom out there. Here are an additional five more Mother’s Day weekend activities you can book today.
