The cost of a one-week honeymoon in Phuket can vary depending on factors like travel dates, accommodation choices, and personal spending habits. Here’s a general breakdown to provide guidance:

Airfare costs fluctuate based on your departure location and the time of booking. On average, you might spend between $800 and $1,500 per person for a round-trip ticket. Booking in advance or taking advantage of travel deals can help reduce costs.

  • Luxury Resorts: $150 – $500+ per night

For a week-long stay, accommodation costs can range from $140 to $3,500 or more, depending on your choice.

Daily Expenses

  • Food: Dining costs vary. On average, expect to spend $20 – $50 per person per day on meals. Street food is affordable , while upscale restaurants may be pricier.
  • Activities: Excursions and activities range from $20 to $200 or more per person per day. Budget around $50 – $100 per day per person for activities.
  • Transportation: Taxis and local transportation may cost around $10 – $30 per day. Renting a scooter or car is an additional expense.

Best Time to Visit Phuket

The best time to visit Phuket for a honeymoon largely depends on your preferences and the activities you have in mind. Phuket experiences two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season.

  • This is generally considered the best time to visit Phuket. The weather is sunny and dry during these months.
  • The peak tourist season is from December to February when the weather is particularly pleasant. This is a popular time for honeymooners.
  • The wet season brings more rainfall and higher humidity. However, it doesn’t rain all day, and you can still enjoy some sunny periods.
  • May to October is the low season, which means fewer tourists and potentially lower prices for accommodations.

Considering that you’re planning your honeymoon, the dry season might be more suitable as it offers better weather for beach activities, island hopping, and other outdoor experiences. However, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere and are willing to deal with occasional rain showers, the wet season could be an option, especially if you can plan indoor or more relaxed activities.

Keep in mind that specific weather patterns can vary from year to year, so it’s a good idea to check the weather forecast closer to your travel dates.

Weather in Phuket

Phuket experiences a tropical climate with two distinct seasons: the wet season and the dry season.

  • Temperature: During the dry season, temperatures are relatively cooler. Daytime temperatures typically range from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius (75 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Weather: This period is characterized by low humidity and minimal rainfall. The skies are generally clear, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and beach days.
  • Peak Tourist Season: The dry season is the high tourist season, especially from December to February, so popular attractions and beaches may be more crowded.
  • Temperature: The wet season is warmer, with daytime temperatures ranging from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius (77 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Weather: This season sees higher humidity and a higher chance of rainfall, with occasional heavy downpours. September and October tend to be the wettest months.
  • Tourist Activity: While there may be rain, it’s often in short bursts, and the island remains lush and green. The wet season is generally less crowded, and accommodation prices may be lower.

It’s essential to consider the weather when planning your trip to Phuket. If you prefer drier conditions and a more bustling atmosphere, the dry season is ideal. However, if you don’t mind occasional rain and want a quieter experience, the wet season can offer its own charm with lush landscapes and fewer tourists. Always check the weather forecast closer to your travel dates for more accurate information.

Is Phuket safe for a honeymoon?

Phuket is generally considered safe for tourists, including honeymooners, and is a popular destination for romantic getaways. However, like any travel destination, it’s important to be aware of certain considerations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience:

  • Phuket, like many tourist destinations, may have petty crimes such as pickpocketing. Be vigilant, especially in crowded areas, and take precautions like using anti-theft bags and securing your belongings.
  • Be cautious of the local traffic, especially if you plan to rent a scooter or drive. Follow local traffic rules and wear helmets.
  • Drink bottled or filtered water to avoid waterborne illnesses, and be mindful of food hygiene.
  • Phuket is prone to seasonal weather changes, including heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. Stay informed about weather conditions and follow any advisories or warnings.
  • While the beaches are beautiful, be aware of the sea conditions. Some beaches may have strong currents, especially during certain seasons, so pay attention to warning flags and signs.
  • Exercise caution to avoid falling victim to tourist scams. Be wary of overly friendly strangers, especially in nightlife areas, and only use reputable tour operators and transportation services.
  • Familiarize yourself with the location of local medical facilities and emergency services. Ensure you have travel insurance that covers medical expenses.
  • Stay informed about any travel restrictions or health protocols in place, especially in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Check entry requirements and guidelines for international travelers.

As with any destination, practicing common-sense safety measures, respecting local customs, and staying informed about your surroundings will contribute to a safe and enjoyable honeymoon in Phuket. Additionally, staying in well-established and reputable accommodations can enhance your overall safety and comfort during your stay.

Best time to visit Phuket

Phuket has a tropical climate meaning it’s warm all year round with temperatures that hover around 28°C (83 °F). It also has a dry season and rainy season.

The best time to visit Phuket for a honeymoon is from December to April during the dry season when there is less rain on average.

Although, some intermittent rain showers even during the dry season.

The rainy season is from May to November. Over half the days of the month will see some rain. It could be just afternoon showers or thunderstorms or overcast days. The weather is unpredicatable at this time.

Prices are a fraction of high season. The worst months to visit Phuket are September and October during the heaviest rains .

It’s worth noting that the Andaman Sea islands like Phuket (and also Bangkok and the north of the country around Chiang Mai) have a different climate pattern to the Gulf of Thailand islands like Koh Samui.

Where to stay on Phuket

This is Thailand’s largest island so you’ve a lot of choices of areas to stay on a Phuket honeymoon!

Patong is a beachfront resort town and very lively to say the least. We’re talking loud tacky bars and neon-lit streets. It’s practically a mini-Bangkok.

It’s great for dining and shopping so there is definitely no harm in staying close to this area and visiting if you want some nightlife. However, it doesn’t exactly scream romance!

Kata , Karon , Surin and Bang Tao are not too far away but a little quieter and still have restaurants and bars.

There are also luxury resorts dotted around the island in more secluded spots included the east coast of the island, too and in the south around Rawai and Cape Panwa and in the north around Mai Khao .

For years, many ignored the capital Phuket Town, but it’s worth exploring for the food alone.

One of the best things about a Phuket honeymoon is the range of accommodation options available. From luxury resorts to boutique hotels, there is something to suit every budget and taste.

Phuket honeymoon hotels and resorts are not all-inclusive and the hotel prices mainly include bed & breakfast.

The good news is that a Phuket honeymoon is usually very affordable . If you love luxury (or if you have champagne tastes on a sparkling wine budget!), Phuket is your perfect honeymoon destination.

There are so many things to do on a Phuket honeymoon that it can be tough to fit them all in! Carve out some time for just relaxing by the beach or your private pool villa, too!

Island visits

One of the best things about a Phuket honeymoon is all the beautiful islands you can visit.

If you don’t have time to stay on the Phi Phi islands you can easily take a day trip to Maya Bay .

Once a hidden gem, before being made famous by the 1990’s movie The Beach. It’s a vision of turquoise waters and limestone cliffs. Following a period of closure due to over tourism, it’s now back open but it’s worth checking before booking.

James Bond Island is a highlight of Phang Nga Bay and a must add on to your things to do on a Phuket honeymoon short list. Its needle-like limestone tower has captivated visitors since its starring role in ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.

The best way to see it is by twilight in a sea kayak with the added bonus of seeing the mesmerising glow of plankton under the stars.

A short hop from Phuket, Coral Island (Koh Hae) and the Racha Islands , comprising Racha Yai and Racha Noi are snorkelling havens with crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs. You can book a day trip that visits them in one trip.

Cooking Class

One of our top picks for Phuket honeymoon activities is a heavenly Thai cooking class .

You can start with a visit to a local market where you’ll pick up some fresh ingredients and then under the guidance of expert local chefs, cook traditional Thai dishes.

Every time you recreate the tastes of Thailand at home you’ll be transported back to your Phuket honeymoon bliss!

Ethical Elephant Sanctuary

One of our top picks for things to do on a Phuket honeymoon is to visit an elephant sanctuary .

Sanctuaries provide a safe haven for rescued elephants, allowing you to interact with these gentle giants in a respectful and caring environment.

Witness the majestic beauty of elephants up close, understanding their intelligence and emotional depth. Get to feed them and bathe them.

While many businesses are called ‘elephant sanctuaries’, these majestic animals can still be treated badly. If you’re allowed to ride an elephant or they perform an elephant ‘show’, avoid !

🤍 ✈️ book an ethical elephant tour on:

Beach Clubs

Koh Samui on the east coast might have the Full Moon Party (and Phuket has its own parties too) but opt for something unique – the world’s first floating beach club .

Yona Beach Club is a unique multi-level floating beach club with four bars, a restaurant, and an infinity pool along with cabanas and daybeds.

🤍 ✈️ book yona beach club on:

Patong, Kata and Karon have many dining spots to choose from and many of the luxury hotels have divine dining experiences.

Now that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat in a non-descript local restaurant or street food stall – you definitely should. Go where the queues and crowds are!

Phuket Honeymoon Frequently Asked Questions

Is phuket good for a honeymoon.

Absolutely, a Phuket honeymoon will be a blend of luxury and adventure.

As the biggest island in Thailand it has everything you might want, beaches, luxury hotels, fantastic dining and plemnnty of adventure, too.

It’s one of the best jump off points to explore some of the most beautiful islands in Thailand.

While some will tell you to steer clear of the busy areas like Patong which admittedly aren’t that romantic, there are beautiful picturesque spots around the island.

How long should we stay in Phuket for our honeymoon

The duration of a Phuket honeymoon will depend on several factors, including your available time, budget, and the type of experience you’re looking to have.

Many couples will choose to relax at a luxury resort for 7-14 nights and take day trips.

However, if you’re planning an island hopping Thailand honeymoon itinerary and are visiting other places, we’d recommend at least 4 nights which will give you 3 full days to explore the island and take some excursions.

Is a Phuket honeymoon expensive

Phuket, and Thailand in general, is much more affordable compared to North America and Western Europe.

Travel costs vary by style so it will depend on what kind of Phuket honeymoon experience you’re planning.

Generally, while we love a luxury honeymoon hotel in Thailand, if you eat at these establishments and use their spa and tour services you will pay a premium .

But if you get a massage from a hut along the beach, eat the best food of your life in a local restaurant, you’ll find Phuket is an inexpensive place to honeymoon .

Should we use a travel agent to book a Phuket honeymoon

Booking a D-I-Y Phuket honeymoon package is relatively easy.

Choose a flexible hotel rate with free cancellation with Booking.com . You can get great discounts on their loyalty programme.

You can book transfers and ferries easily with 12Go along with tours and excursions on GetYourGuide or Viator .

Klook is another great platform that is popular for Asia tours and transport.

When you’re booking flights , if you can’t fly directly and are booking connecting flights, give yourself enough time to change planes.

We’d recommend at least a 2 to 3-hour layover for a stress-free experience.

Don’t forget to have travel insurance in place before booking!

However a good travel agent who books Thailand honeymoon packages regularly will be able to take care of all the nitty-gritty details so it’s worth checking things with a trusted travel agent .

How to get to Phuket

Besides Bangkok, Phuket is one of the easiest destinations to get to in Thailand. It welcomes flights from numerous global and regional hubs.

You can fly directly to Phuket International Airport (airport code: HKT) from Bangkok (BKK), Phuket (HKT), Koh Samui (USM) and Chiang Mai (CNX).

There are also direct flights from many regional airports like Singapore (SIN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) in Vietnam, Mumbai (BOM) in India and Hong Kong (HKG) and other Chinese cities.

There are also direct flights from the Middle East hubs like Dubai (DXB), Doha (DOH) & Istanbul (IST) and Australian cities like Sydney (SYD) and Melbourne (MEL).

Once you arrive it’s easy to book a transfer and your hotel or resort.

How to get around Phuket

There’s a few options for getting around on your Phuket honeymoon.

Many couples base themselves in a Phuket honeymoon hotel and take excursions.

To get from A to B, opt for taxis or the convenient songthaew (converted shared truck taxis). You just pay a few baht and they’ll drop you at your hotel. Always agree a price with a taxi and songthaew before travel.

You can hire a private driver too or hire a moped (although please ensure your travel insurance covers you as accidents are common).

What to pack for a Phuket honeymoon

When thinking about packing for your Phuket honeymoon, remember that it has a tropical climate, so opt for relatively comfortable clothes suitable for the heat (like shorts and t-shirts and light dresses).

Add plenty of swimwear to your Thailand packing list and anti mosquito protection. Discover our FREE packing list for Thailand .

We’ve got the honeymoon packing list bundle in the shop too.

Where can we combine with Phuket

We highly recommend exploring other islands and areas in Thailand!

The easiest islands to combine with Phuket are the nearby Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai which couldn’t be further from Phuket’s busier beach towns.

Six Senses Yao Noi comes from one of our favourite luxury hotel brands and is one of our top picks for honeymoon hotels in Thailand.

Check out the more rustic TreeHouse Villas .

Located on a pristine island, Koh Racha Yai, The Racha has minimalist villas.

The Phi Phi islands are famed for the incredible Maya Bay and it’s worth spending a few days somewhere like Zeavola Resort to explore it’s world famous islands.

North of Phuket, on the mainland is the quieter Khao Lak which has some stunning honeymoon hotels like The Sarojin , the more modernist Casa de la Flora and Iniala Beach House .

If you have time consider Krabi and Koh Lanta. Krabi is a lovely alterntive to Phuket too.

You could also add on a jungle stay in Khao Sok National Park . Opt for Elephant Hills , an elephant sanctuary or if on a budget, Our Jungle Camp – Eco Resort .

The great thing about Khao Sok is you can travel overland on to the east coast to gems like Koh Samui.

You can fly easily to neighbouring designations like Singapore or if you fly via Bangkok you can tag on any other destination in Asia from Indonesia to the Philippines to the Maldives – there is a direct flight from Bangkok !

If you have more time, from Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand, you can sail down the Mekong River to Laos and on to Vietnam and Cambodia overland.

Asia is just the best continent for a honeymoon!

Important information on Phuket for your honeymoon

Phuket as a honeymoon destination is an ideal combination of city and beaches and if you’re looking for sun, it is best to visit during the months of March to May, after this time, the monsoon season begins and the climate becomes more humid with frequent tropical rainstorms.

The most rainfall in Phuket falls during the month of September and it is a month that is best avoided. The most expensive time to travel to Phuket is during the peak season of November to February where you are guaranteed endless sunny days and calm seas,  but prices will skyrocket.

The currency used in Phuket is the Thai Baht and you can use your major credit or debit cards in most popular restaurants, shopping centres and hotels. It is always advisable to have some cash on hand and there are plenty of ATMs all over Phuket.

You should budget for around ฿3,012 per day in Phuket, this is around €90  per day per person. The average cost of a hotel for two is around is ฿3,316 per night, which is around €98 per night. You should budget around ฿596 per day for food and around ฿294 to get around.

Getting around Phuket is very easy, there are many forms of transportation: Tuk tuks are a popular choice and are ideal to travel short distances, but can be quite pricey, due to them being a tourist attraction, a short five-minute ride can cost ฿100, but the price is highly dependent on your bargaining skills.

Almost every price can be haggled and make sure to agree on the price before setting off or you will end up paying a small fortune.

Patong Thailand. A scene in Patong Thailand

Taxis are a good way to get around and fares usually start from ฿50 in a metred taxi for the first two kilometres, you can negotiate a flat fee for a longer journey, but again it’s important to negotiate before going anywhere. There is an app called GRAB which is used for booking taxis on your phone.

The cheapest form of transportation in Phuket is the Songtaew, or colourful, open-air buses. These are hailed from the roadside and have no scheduled stops. A journey from Patong, Surin or Kamala to the Old Town costs around ฿20!

Thai food is absolutely delicious and there are amazing dishes for foodies to enjoy, it’s always advisable to be careful with meat that hasn’t been cooked properly or undercooked shellfish. The best places have open kitchens or a high turnover of diners, to ensure that food is cooked fresh in front of you.

Do not be afraid to eat at the local markets and eat where the locals eat! To be on the safe side, make sure to pack some diarrhoea medication as often western stomachs are not accustomed to the spicy foods or foreign gut bacteria.

Meals are very cheap and an average budget of ฿596 per person will be suitable for your honeymoon, with fine-dining restaurants charging higher prices. Tipping is not expected in Thailand but is much appreciated.

Tap water is not potable or safe to drink, it is advisable to buy bottled water and many hotels supply complimentary bottled water to their guests. Be careful and avoid drinks with ice in them.

Finally, Thailand has its own culture and customs and visitors should be respectful of them. Clothes that cover the shoulders and legs should be worn when visiting religious sites, though many Wats and temples offer a sarong for rent to those who have not brought the correct attire.

Also, the head is considered sacred and you must not touch any locals on the head or point to people or things with your feet, considered the dirtiest and lowest part of the body.

See how an authentic seafaring Indonesian community live in a village on stilts, where over 360 families of local fishermen thrive in Koh Panyee. Legend says that Toh Baboo, an Indonesian migrant, came to Koh Panyee and established a village there over 200 years ago.

It is said that when Toh Baboo and two other families set out to find a new home, that if one of them should find a suitable place to live with abundant fishing nearby, that they would raise a flag on the mountain so that the other families would come and join them there.

Toh Baboo found the island of Koh Panyee and raised his flag high, hence giving birth to the name which means “Island of the Flag”. Nowadays, all the current residents are his indirect or direct descendants. Best 5 Star Phuket Honeymoon Resorts

When you’re researching Phuket Honeymoon Hotels you’ll notice prices can vary wildly within the 5 star accommodation category.

Here are some things for you to consider when comparing hotel properties:

  • How old is the property? Many of the more dated luxury properties were built in the 80s and 90s and still have an old school aesthetic. For couples looking to book a more affordable honeymoon in Phuket you can enjoy a suite or villa experience for half the price at Le Meridien, Westin Siray Bay and Dusit Thani compared to more luxurious properties like Banyan Tree, InterContinental and Melia.
  • When are you traveling? High season in Phuket is December to March. You can likely find a more affordable Phuket Honeymoon Package in the shoulder season (October and November) or in the low season May through September.
  • What are the accomodation options? Properties that have guest rooms are always more affordable, or splurge on a luxurious suite with an oversized balcony or over-the-top villa with a private pool if your budget allows.
  • Phuket Honeymoon Package : contact the resort to inform them you are booking a honeymoon to inquire about special package deals that might include your room, couples spa treatment or complimentary dinner at the resorts fine dining restaurant. If you’re booking the trip outside of high season you may even get a free room upgrade!
  • Honeymoon Welcome : each luxury hotel in Phuket offers its own unique honeymoon welcome to greet couples upon check in. Talented staff create swans and elephants out of bath towels, sprinkle a plush king sized bed with flower petals, fill the room with celebratory balloons and even provide champagne on ice and a decadent slice of chocolate cake.

Looking to splurge on a honeymoon in Phuket to dip your toes in that luxurious pool villa life? The Banyan Tree Resort is located on Phuket’s northwest coast within the Laguna Phuket complex on Bangtao Beach.

The award-winning Banyan Tree is ranked as one of the most luxurious resorts on the island of Phuket. The property features 194 all-pool villas nestled around a lagoon and surrounded by tropical gardens.

The resort is in fact a collection of 3 boutique hotels, all operated under the same Banyan Tree brand: the original Banyan Tree Phuket, the Banyan Tree Phuket Spa Sanctuary, and Double Pool Villas by Banyan Tree Phuket. The main difference between the 3 hotels is the type of accommodation, which ranges from luxe (Banyan Tree Phuket), to ultra luxe (Spa Sanctuary), to the epitome of in-villa living (Double Pool Villas).

The tropical paradise resort boasts 2 swimming pools, destination spa, wellbeing centre, yoga pavilion, cooking school, golf course, bicycle rental, fitness centre, tennis courts and fun lagoon activities like paddle boarding and kayaking.

Banyan Tree is spread out across a large area, but golf carts can whisk you to the pool, spa, or lobby with a quick call to reception. Because all villas –even the entry-level ones– come with at least one private pool, the resort’s main pool is very chill. You don’t have to wake up at 6am to throw down a towel. It feels so civilized!

Pool attendants offer towel plus food and beverage service to guests relaxing on lounge chairs and under shady cabanas. The lagoon-style pool features water spouts and jets that go off every 30 minutes, transforming the water into a fun “lazy river.” Swim up to the pool bar and order from a list of fine wines, ice-cold beers and tropical cocktails and nosh on light fare like Pad Thai and burgers.

The sprawling jasmine-scented resort is manicured within an inch of its life. The wing-tipped open-air lobby overlooks a large saltwater lagoon and is dotted with teak sofas, Thai artwork and pretty reflective pools.

Phuket Island Guide

The Ultimate Guide to a Phuket Honeymoon

A honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that deserves a destination as special as the love you share. Look no further than the tropical paradise of Phuket, Thailand. With its stunning natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and plethora of romantic activities, it’s no wonder couples from all over the world are drawn to this idyllic island. In this article, we’ll explore the many reasons  why Phuket is the perfect choice for your honeymoon  and provide you with all the information you need to plan an unforgettable trip.

Why Choose Phuket for Your Honeymoon

With its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and lush greenery, Phuket offers the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway. This tropical paradise, located in the Andaman Sea, boasts not only breathtaking scenery but also a myriad of activities to suit every couple’s tastes. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or a taste of local culture, Phuket has it all.

One of the main reasons couples choose Phuket for their honeymoon is the incredible variety of accommodation options available. From opulent resorts and boutique hotels to secluded villas, you’ll find the perfect place to celebrate your love. Many of these accommodations cater specifically to honeymooners, offering private pools, romantic dining experiences, and couples’ spa treatments.

Phuket also offers an extensive array of romantic activities to fill your days. Unwind on pristine beaches, indulge in luxurious spa experiences, or embark on an unforgettable island-hopping adventure. With so many options, you can customize your honeymoon to be as laid-back or action-packed as you desire.

Finally, the rich culture and warm hospitality of the Thai people add an extra layer of magic to your Phuket honeymoon. Explore the historic Phuket Old Town , visit ancient temples, and savor the flavors of authentic Thai cuisine. Throughout your stay, you’ll be embraced by the genuine warmth and kindness of the local people, making your honeymoon all the more memorable.

In the following sections, we’ll delve deeper into planning your Phuket honeymoon, including the best time to visit, visa requirements, and crafting the perfect itinerary.

Planning Your Phuket Honeymoon

Best time to visit phuket.

When planning your unforgettable honeymoon in Phuket, it’s essential to consider the  best time to visit . Phuket experiences a tropical climate, with three distinct seasons:

  • High Season (November to February):  This period offers the most ideal weather, with sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, and minimal rainfall. It’s the perfect time to explore the island’s beautiful beaches and engage in various outdoor activities. However, this is also the peak tourist season, so expect higher prices for accommodations and attractions.
  • Hot Season (March to May):  As the name suggests, this season experiences scorching temperatures and high humidity. While the heat may be overwhelming for some, it’s still a suitable time for beach activities, and you may find better deals on accommodations.
  • Low Season (June to October):  This season sees the highest rainfall, but don’t let that deter you. The rain is often sporadic, and you’ll still have plenty of sunshine to enjoy the island’s charms. You’ll also benefit from fewer crowds and lower prices on accommodations.

Visa and Travel Requirements

When planning your Phuket honeymoon, it’s crucial to be aware of the  visa and travel requirements  for your visit. Depending on your nationality, you may require a visa to enter Thailand. Visitors from many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most European countries, can enter Thailand visa-free for stays up to 30 days. However, it’s always best to check the current visa requirements with your country’s embassy or consulate.

In addition to visa requirements, make sure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining from your arrival date in Thailand. Furthermore, it’s wise to purchase travel insurance to protect you and your spouse in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

Creating a Honeymoon Itinerary

An essential aspect of planning your Phuket honeymoon is creating a personalized itinerary that caters to both your interests and desires. With a myriad of attractions and activities to choose from, it’s crucial to strike the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure.

Begin by researching the various  Phuket attractions and make a list of the top sights and experiences you’d like to incorporate into your trip. This may include exploring the white-sand beaches, embarking on an island-hopping adventure, or uncovering the rich history and culture of  Phuket Old Town .

Next, consider the practical aspects of your trip, such as transportation, accommodations, and dining options. Research the best  Phuket hotels  and resorts that cater specifically to honeymooners, offering romantic packages and experiences tailored to couples.

Lastly, make sure to allocate ample time for relaxation and spontaneous adventures. While it’s essential to have a plan, it’s equally important to remain flexible and open to the unique opportunities that may arise during your Phuket honeymoon.

A Honeymoon in Phuket: best time, place to visit, things to do & hotel

Needless to speak, Phuket is always the best destination for honeymoon in Thailand. Phuket is the biggest and most prosperous city of Thailand where you will find indulged in an atmosphere of vitality and a romantic place which can rival Maldives in the Indonesia and Hawaii in the United States in terms of beach.

The gorgeous scenery of Phang Nga Bay and Phi Phi Island is one of the main highlights that will linger visitors' mind owing to its Karst mountain feature on the clear sea and colorful coral.

As night descends the entire coast, the seaside bars and restaurants will be lit up by dizzily colorful lights joined monthly by the Half Moon Party.

Best Honeymoon Hotels

We know that a nice honeymoon hotel is important in your vacation. Nice resorts add more romantic and pleasant memory to couples. Our recommendation not only focus on the star standard but also the real experience and the service for western guests.

Real unique scenery and good service is always our standard. We use only those that continuously receive positive feedback. Some boutique hotels have unique design or location; we also suggest these as far as you tell us your interests.

Briefly, you will find a large variety of honeymoon resort in middle Phuket, that is around Patong Beach. Villas, resorts, bungalow, resort with private pool or infinite pool, all you can find different types. But in peak season, northern Phuket such as Kamala Beach , Bang Tao Beach and Surin Beach will be better for traffic and a quiet beach.

Please tell us your hotel choice to your travel advisor who will tailor-make the tour for you .

Best Honeymoon Destinations on a Budget

P lanning the perfect honeymoon is never easy, but doing so while maintaining a tiny budget is infinitely harder. Fortunately, there are many affordable honeymoon destinations that offer the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation and romance.

Stay in a bungalow in Thailand, or go sightseeing in Portugal. Dine on a remote Greek island or see ancient ruins in Mexico. Zipline in the Costa Rican jungle or snorkel in Belize. All these activities and more make for a perfect honeymoon backdrop without breaking the bank. With a little something for everyone, these are the best honeymoon destinations for newlyweds on a budget.

Mexico has it all. Delicious food, ancient ruins, palm-fringed beaches, breathtaking sunsets and the best margaritas, of course. And all at a reasonable price. Mexico is particularly perfect for couples looking to book a luxurious yet affordable beach resort. These all-inclusive resorts can be found in the Riviera Maya, a stretch of coastline along the Yucatán Peninsula that starts in Cancun and ends in Tulum.

While Cancun is famous for its vibrant nightlife  and bustling downtown areas, Tulum is known for its cenotes (sinkholes filled with crystal-clear water), jungles and bohemian vibe. Couples can also stay in Playa del Carmen, with its white-sand beaches and ample dining opportunities, or in Puerto Morelos, known for its snorkeling  reefs and rich culture.

The Riviera Maya is also home to many ancient Mayan ruins. Couples can take a road trip and visit historical sites such as the famous Chichen Itza , Coba or the Tulum Archeological Zone . These archaeological wonders offer a glimpse into the rich history of the Mayan civilization.

2. Thailand

Home to lush jungles, towering cliffs and beautiful beaches, Thailand is a penny-pinching honeymooner’s dream. Couples can plan a beach honeymoon in Phuket, an island known for its beautiful sunsets, luxury spas and vibrant nightlife. In Bangkok, couples can visit the Grand Palace, taste delicious street food and shop at local markets. And in Chiang Mai, couples can visit historic temples , shop for Thai crafts or visit an elephant sanctuary .

Thailand is also known for its traditional Thai massages, a must-try for any honeymooners looking to unwind and relax. Active couples can enjoy a variety of water sports, like scuba diving, snorkeling and surfing.

Resorts in Thailand come in all shaped and sizes. Couples can opt to stay in romantic overnight bungalows (think Bora Bora but at a fraction of the cost), luxurious adults-only resorts or boutique hotels tucked in the jungle.

Surprise your new spouse to a romantic dinner on a stunning Greek island. With its whitewashed buildings, crisp blue seas and delicious Mediterranean food, Greece is one of the world’s most romantic destinations. And if planned correctly, a trip to this European country can be very economical.

While parts of Greece can be expensive, there are plenty of budget-friendly options for honeymooners, including Crete, Naxos and Thessaloniki. Crete is the country’s largest island, known for its stunning beaches, rugged landscapes, and diverse culture. Naxos is a small island with unspoiled beaches, traditional villages and lush green landscapes. Thessaloniki, located on the mainland, provides a more urban experience, with a bustling food and nightlife scene.

Those willing to splurge can also visit Santorini or Mykonos, the most iconic, but unfortunately also the most expensive, Greek islands. If you’re interested in Ancient Greek history, plan a couple days in Athens to see sites including the Acropolis and the Parthenon.

4. Indonesia

Affordable luxury meets beautiful outdoor landscapes in Indonesia. Here, couples will find wild rainforests, coral reefs, white sand beaches and turquoise waters, creating the perfect backdrop for a budget honeymoon.

Some top honeymoon destinations include Bali and Lombok. In Bali, couples can visit iconic temples, relax on the beach or explore the Ubud Monkey Forest Sanctuary while staying in luxurious beachside  resorts . Lombok, a quieter alternative to Bali, is known for its captivating waterfalls, surf spots and its towering volcano, Mount Rinjani. From Lombok, couples can also take a tour of the Gili Islands, known for their snorkeling and diving opportunities.

If seeing Komodo dragons is on your bucket list, visit the Komodo National Park, located in the Indonesian archipelago. Those seeking an urban getaway can visit Jakarta, the country’s bustling capital city.

5. Costa Rica

Ready for an adventurous jungle getaway with surfing and ziplining? What about a tropical honeymoon experience with sunset dinners and beachside cocktails? Costa Rica has both, and a whole lot more.

This Central American country is known for its wildlife-rich rainforests towering volcanoes, powerful waterfalls, palm tree-lined beaches and year-round warm temperatures. On the country’s pacific side, couples can relax in beautiful Santa Teresa, a surf town known for its beautiful sunsets, or visit Manuel Antonio, which features a beachfront national park home to sloths, monkeys and frogs. Puerto Viejo is a must-see on the country’s Caribbean side. This small town has a laid back, where visitors rent bikes, enjoy delicious Caribbean food, while experiencing the town’s vibrant Rastafarian culture.

Throughout Costa Rica there are zip lining, hiking and surfing opportunities for adventurous couples. There are also various cloud forests, like Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, with misty forests, hanging bridges and beautiful viewpoints.

6. Portugal

Dreaming of a honeymoon in Europe? Portugal is the place to be. The country is famous for its beautiful blue-tiled buildings, dreamy Atlantic coastline, flaky custard tarts, year-round sun and Port wine.

The country’s capital, Lisbon, is a mixing pot of colonial history, amazing architecture and beautiful ocean views. While you’re there, be sure to see the remains of Castelo de São Jorge, the highest point of the city and Alfama, one of Europe’s oldest neighborhoods. Sintra, known for its vibrant yellow castle and whimsical structures, makes for a great day trip from Lisbon.

After visiting Lisbon, travel north along the coast to Porto, known for its port wine. Check out the city’s beautiful cathedrals and churches, or visit a winery and try some local port wine. If you have time to travel south to the Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region, venture to the picturesque town of Lagos and take a boat tour of the Ponta da Piedade caves. The iconic Benagil Cave is also an Algarve must-see.

Belize is a small country in Central America, bordered by Mexico and Guatemala. It is known for its rich jungles, stunning coral reefs, underground caves and the Great Blue Hole, an underwater sinkhole. The country is also made up of lots of different islands. Honeymooners can visit the island of the Caye Caulker, known for its relaxed vibes.

Back on the mainland, visitors can stay in San Ignacio and visit ancient Mayan ruins , go ziplining or horseback ride through the jungle. Also on the mainland, Hopkins is a charming fishing village with great snorkeling and diving opportunities. Those looking to stay in a luxurious beach resort can stay in Placencia.

Honeymooners will surely spend some time in Belize City, home to the country’s only international airport. Here, visitors can explore the old town and learn about the country’s history at the Museum of Belize. Couples willing to splurge can take a helicopter tour to see the Great Blue Hole from above.

If your dream honeymoon involves glittery coastlines, turquoise waters and historic architecture, Croatia is the place to go. The country is home to idyllic islands, tasty seafood and breathtaking sunsets. Fortunately, the country is also quite affordable.

Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Hvar are all amazing places to spend a honeymoon. In Dubrovnik, couples can explore the Old Town (where some of Game of Thrones was filmed), walk along the ancient city walls and enjoy rooftop bars. In Split, wander through Diocletian’s Palace, experience the lively Riva promenade and take a ferry to nearby islands.

One of Zadar’s top attractions is the Sea Organ, an art installation which plays music made by the waves. Check out this magical attraction, as well as the Sun Salutation, an installation that creates a stunning display at sunset. Hvar is an island known for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful coastlines and charming downtown. When no relaxing on the beach, couples can explore the cozy restaurants and shops in Hvar Town.

You don’t need to leave the U.S. to have a tropical and romantic honeymoon. Florida is home to a number of stunning yet cheap honeymoon destinations. Start your journey in the vibrant city of Miami, where you can explore the iconic South Beach, indulge in delicious cuisine, and soak up the nightlife. Take a romantic stroll along the Miami Beach Boardwalk or enjoy a sunset cruise along Biscayne Bay.

For a more secluded honeymoon, head to Key Largo, an island in the Florida Keys. The island is known for its world-class fishing, and is a great place to go scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking. There are beautiful beaches, nature trails and there’s even an underwater hotel.

Those seeking a nature-filled escape can explore the Everglades National Park on Florida’s southern tip and Disney-lovers can always visit the magical Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

10. Puerto Rico

Fun fact: Piña coladas were invented in Puerto Rico. But the Caribbean island is known for a lot more than just the tropical cocktail. Puerto Rico is known for its salsa music, delicious cuisine, white sand beaches and rich colonial history.

Explore the vibrant streets of Old San Juan, filled with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and centuries-old fortresses. While in San Juan, be sure to check out the Castillo de San Cristóbal, a Spanish fort that dates back to 1783.

Couples looking to venture out of San Juan can chase waterfalls at the beautiful El Yunque National Forest or relax at Flamenco Beach. Foodies will love sampling Puerto Rico’s local dishes, influenced by Spanish, African and indigenous cuisine. Some must-try dishes include mofones, tostones and arroz con gandules.
