ROTAX GRAND FINALS 2022 SET

Gunskirchen, Austria, April 29, 2022 – The annual highlight of the Rotax karting season, the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals will take place this year in Portimão, Portugal from November 19 th – 26 th , 2022 and the Rotax Team is already in full progress for the preparation of the event.

As already announced at the prize giving ceremony at the RMCGF 2021 in Bahrain, this year’s biggest karting challenge, the RMC Grand Finals 2022, will take place the 4 th time at the Kartodromo Internacional Algarve in Portimao, Portugal. 400 drivers from all over the world – the best drivers of the Rotax MAX Challenge and E-Kart Championships – will meet from 19 th to 26 th of November for the annual showdown to crown the champion of the respective categories.

This year, the RMCGF has again a special attraction: after introducing the E-Kart senior as a new category to the RMCGF in 2021, now the Rotax Project E20 Junior category will be added to the schedule to crown the first Rotax Project E20 Junior Champion in Portugal. The qualification for this category is in full progress at the E20 Tour events throughout 2022. The ‘Arrive&Drive’ concept of the RMC Grand Finals is one of the reasons why this event is so special: the only thing that counts are the driving skills of the racers, as all the material is provided by BRP-Rotax and the chassis partners, which are supporting following categories:

BirelART : Rotax 125 Micro MAX and Rotax 125 MAX DD2

IPKarting (Praga): Rotax 125 Mini MAX and Rotax 125 MAX DD2 Masters

Sodikart: Rotax 125 Junior MAX, Rotax 125 Senior MAX, Rotax Project E20 Senior and Junior

Live timing and Results:Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2022 at the Portimão Circuit

Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2022 has kicked off and 396 enthusiastic Rotax competitors from over 60 countries, plus their technicians, teams and supporters, are ready for the ultimate showdown of the season. It is the celebration of the RMC champions and the drivers who qualify from around the world. This will be the biggest Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals to date in the 23-year history of this amazing karting event, which is uniquely like no other championship in this sport.

It’s the fourth time that the RMCGF returns to Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (previously 2012, 2015 & 2017) and the fifth occasion since Viana do Castelo 2006 in the north, that Portugal has been the host. The Portimão Circuit, as it is known, is one of the longest in Europe stretching up to 1.6km and provides ample opportunities for overtaking; which means the racing will always be exciting.

The ‘best of the best’ in each of the Rotax classes will ensure the race action will be sensational as ever once the competition gets underway mid-week, following the initial practice sessions. Eight categories are on the program in 2022 – with the introduction of the Rotax Project E20 Junior E-Kart class, boosting the numbers to bring a younger generation of racer closer to the sustainable future.

Rotax Pro Tour, Round 3

The third round of the Australian Rotax MAX Challenge Series was conducted at the Ipswich circuit in Queensland last weekend.

The top three results from the Finals are below (full results on Speedhive HERE ).

Organisers have confirmed round 4 will take place at Griffith on a new date of July 21 to 24. Race format is yet to be made official, however competition under lights and a long distance race have been mentioned.
