San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions: The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions - Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct - are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.

The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping center, while La Villita artisan village has more traditional crafts.

Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Where things are always wild & there is fun for all ages we are open 362 days of the year from 9am to 6pm; last tour leaves no later than 4:30pm.  johnson city is playing center stage for a total solar eclipse on monday, april 8th, 2023 for that day only , we are requiring our visitors to purchase a parking pass along with tickets through our website. we have a limited number of parking and we are expecting a massive influx of visitors, so don’t wait to reserve your spot  the only days we close are easter sunday, thanksgiving and christmas day. additionally, our hours remain the same year ‘round, our park is home to 700+ animals representing 45+ species. with a few tour options, you are sure to create fun memories for a lifetime while learning about our conservation and preservation efforts, no dogs are allowed at the exotic resort zoo.

Our animals see ALL dogs as their natural predator, so this also includes service animals! The United States Department of Justice says: “At a zoo, service animals can  be restricted from areas where the animals on display are the natural prey or natural predators of dogs, where the presence of a dog would be disruptive, causing the displayed animals to behave aggressively or become agitated.” Because of the nature of our park, our animals are on display from the moment you enter our gates. Guided safari tours, drive-thru safari, safari cabin rentals .

For your visit, we offer one-of-a-kind Guided Tours (tractor ride) through the park. Typically, the longest wait is around 30-45 minutes, however this is subject to change depending on availability and the rate of visitors in attendance that day. In our opinion, the Guided Tour is definitely worth the wait for a more unique experience!

Heads up: It’s Field Trip Season! We have wonderful groups of children in attendance in the mornings of almost every weekday. You are welcome to jump aboard the Guided Tour with the kids for a wild experience or opt to wait for another ride.

You can also tour the park in your own vehicle! If you are interested in the Drive-Thru (your vehicle) option, you must buy tickets online to reserve a spot with no exceptions. Once we sell out of drive-thru tickets, you are not guaranteed entry.

Giraffe VIP Experience

Enjoy a safari tour and a close encounter with our giraffes.

At Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, we specialize in providing up-close-and-personal safari experiences. Our Safari Adventure Tour takes this opportunity to a whole new level by starting with an intimate encounter with our marvelous giraffes! Immersive Dino Safari opens in San Antonio for limited time

Explorers can see enormous animatronic dinosaurs, real fossils.

SAN ANTONIO – You can go on a safari in San Antonio this year at the new walk-through adventure and immersive dinosaur experience.

Dino Safari is now open at the Shops at Rivercenter through Labor Day on Sept. 4.

“If you have a dinosaur fan at home this is a must see for locals and tourists,” said CEO of Imagine Exhibitions Tom Zaller.

Explorers will be able to meet and interact with more than 30 life-sized dinosaurs, including the Tyrannosaurus rex and the Spinosaurus.

“See enormous animatronic dinosaurs, real fossils, interactive games, virtual reality, and incredible science, all in one place,” Zaller said in a press release.

The experience will showcase the evolution of dinosaurs over time and offer hands-on challenges for visitors to solve, along with depictions of natural elements that often occurred during this time, such as earthquakes.

With real science, incredible installations, and realistic moving animatronics, Dino Safari will transport visitors back millions of years to meet these prehistoric creatures in replicas of their natural habitats, the press release said.

Dino Safari is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets for the self-guided expedition start at $18.50. The last ticket is sold one hour prior to closing time. Children under 2 years old do not need a ticket. Senior, military, educator and locals discounts are available at the venue box office with a valid ID.

Guests may arrive at any time on the date selected, however, entry into the exhibition may be delayed during busy periods to allow for the best experience for all attendees, according to the website.

It takes an average of 45 minutes to walk through the safari. The safari is not timed and explorers can take more or less time to walk through the experience.

The safari is located on the lower level of the Shops at River Center in Suite 623.

Sunstone makes $230M hotel play in downtown San Antonio

630-key Hyatt Regency marks California firm’s first Texas acquisition

Sunstone Hotel Investors is splashing into the Lone Star State with an eye-popping hotel deal in downtown San Antonio.

The California-based firm struck a deal with Hyatt Hotels to buy the 630-key Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk, at 123 Losoya Street, for $230 million, marking its first Texas acquisition, the San Antonio Business Journal reported . The price is a little over $365,000 per key.

Sunstone, led by CEO Bryan Giglia, anticipates that the property will contribute $12 million to $13 million of the hotel’s earnings to its bottom line through 2024. The firm expects to close the sale later this month.

The Hyatt Regency, across from the Alamo and fronting the River Walk, is in the heart of the city’s tourism district. Sunstone aims to take advantage of strong hotel demand in the area and the plethora of nearby attractions, including the forthcoming Alamo Visitor Center and Museum.

The hotel was recently renovated and is “in great shape with minimal near-term capital needs,” Giglia told the outlet. However, he believes there are still opportunities to maximize the hotel’s potential and drive up revenue over the near term.

San Antonio’s lodging industry is making strides toward a full recovery from the pandemic, which caused downtown foot traffic and leisure travel to plummet. While there haven’t been many hospitality assets to change hands since last year, the city’s development pipeline is loaded with hotel rooms.

Trailbreak Partners and Scarlett Hotel Group are wrapping up their $158 million transformation of the former Wyndham hotel downtown into a 390-room luxury hotel under the InterContinental brand. It’s set to open this summer. 

Also on the redevelopment front, Los Angeles-based Evolution Hospitality is gearing up for a $30 million overhaul of the historic Sheraton Gunter Hotel , at 205 East Houston Street. 

Furthermore, a joint venture of Austin-based Merritt Development Group and Georgia-based Peachtree Group aims to develop a 10-story, 171-room Residence Inn by Marriott, at 100 North Main Avenue.
