This tour was the very best experience we have ever had traveling overseas. The booking process was seamless and painless. We felt especially grateful that while the group was limited to 8 participants, it was guaranteed to proceed with 2 people. As it ended up, our trip was just me and my husband and we felt so fortunate to have had the attention of the guides in such a personal way. The guides were all tremendous and I am confident that a larger group would have felt equally tended to. Special thanks to our guides and drivers: Denise, Orazio, Roberto, Carlos, Fabio and Massimo. Part of what was truly evident was how passionate they each were about Sicily and how many of them had connections with people at the restaurants, local businesses and attractions that we went to. We felt like we were in such good hands during the time we were with all of the guides. Each tour and activity was enlightening and educational. The included lunches and other meals were top notch. The opening night walking food and wine tour was a great way to kickoff the trip. There were some others who joined us for that portion, and it was most welcome. I don't think it would have been as much fun for the restaurants and enoteca to have just 2 people and the guide show up, and we knew the rest of the trip we would have individual attention. We felt pampered with our lunches on the Mafia tour, at the winery on Etna, in Marzememi and Agrigento. There was never a feeling of penny-pinching, more plush and like what we would have chosen for ourselves! The selected hotels were excellent! Centrally located, each with a fantastic breakfast spread and fun bar/restaurants. We would happily go back to any of them again and recommend them. We loved the scheduling each day and felt like we had a great mix of free time to explore on our own. Lastly, Graziana was out lifeline while we were traveling. She connected with us daily to check in, and to share the next days plan and name of our guide and where they would meet us. She made dinner reservations for us while we were there and provided recommendations that were helpful. We didn't encounter any issues, but felt that we had a ready ally if needed. Massimo also checked in midtrip, so we truly felt like everyone was interested in us having the best possible trip. I cannot wait to return to Sicily. We have recommended Sicily Activities to many people since our return and would book again in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic time! The scenery was spectacular, the history fascinating, the food and wine, we really didn’t want to leave.

Angelo was a great tour guide. The wine tour was fun. The sights we were taken to were nice to see.

We enjoyed ourselves and that is the principal objective in any holiday. Travelling in April meant that the weather was perfect for us - not too hot. The hotels were good - the Mercure in Palermo and the one in Agrigento excellent. Either lunch or dinner was laid on and we're of a high standard. The sites we visited were truly impressive although sometimes a little fleeting. Sicily is a big island so we did spend a lot of time on the coach. Thankfully we had a smart vehicle, Dino the driver was brilliant but the most plaudits have to go to Angelo the tour guide. Angelo was in turns helpful, informative, knowledgeable and great company. He went out of his way on a number of occasions to assist members of our party be it with lost property, illness or other mishaps. The tour was great value and I would strongly recommend.

Tour actually run by Sicillian Secrets, except for the last day, which was a private tour I assume organised through Destination Italia. I have been traveling for the past 50 years and have visited many countries, I had never taken a tour before my travel mates and I took the the Southern Sicily tour. We chose GAdventures for this trip because the tour group was small, and because the tour visited so many of the major sites in Sicily. We were extremely lucky to have Luca as our tour leader. He was a wealth of information, and his love for Sicily was contagious. Luca took the time to get to know everyone in our small group and that added a personal touch to the tour. I recommend GAdventures tours without hesitation. It was just the best experience!

Lovely tour. Great guides, nice hotels, perfect itunerary.

I would not consider this a seven day trip, barely a six day. Our tour leader was excellent, especially as she had to do the tour in English, and in Spanish. I think a lot of time was wasted with translation. One of the hotels was not even three star. A lot of camaraderie was lost due to the language barrier. Many times we felt rushed through our tours, and some days we had too much lag time. All in all it was a good tour. It was just by luck that we found a wonderful board walk and a charming town along the beach at our last stay near Taormina. No one told us about it making us wonder how many other places near our hotels we might have missed.

Tour was excellent, hotels very good but communication could improve. Some of my group were on a WhatsApp connection and were receiving communication but not me. Also I had to ask about where to meet etc on first night. I also wasn’t told that my last day would be a private tour and to meet the guide at 9.00 am. Luckily she persevered in searching for me and I ended up having a fantastic day.

It was a wonderful trip. Seeing this much of Sicily and Malta made it worthwhile. Sights unbelievable. The tour leader Franco did his best to accommodate three languages. That was difficult at times to please everyone. The other guides also had that problem. I wish it could have been in English only. I believe all people on this tour speak English. That is the only negative part of the tour. I feel we lost valuable time because of the language barrier. Malta was fantastic. We felt like VIP'S. Our guide and drivers accommodated us. Dennis was great, his knowledge of history and facts to be admired. I would recommend this tour to all. Health wise it is not for any handicaps. Be healthy. We did it without difficulties, my husband is 85 and I am 77.

He accommodated our specific requests and put together a very busy itinerary that allowed us to see a great deal in 11 days, which is exactly what we wanted. He selected individual tours that were excellent and offered more than the typical tours I have experienced in Italy. That made a big difference to the quality of our experience. Our travel agent's hotel choices met our request very nicely, all being well priced and well located, and providing excellent customer service. Zicasso’s agent was always available for questions and clarifications, and he put together a last-minute add-on trip for us which was very special. We truly appreciated his customer service and attention to detail, and highly recommend him for your travel needs.

Zicasso’s travel agents were very diligent and very respectful in organizing a fabulous trip. Our hotel in Brussels was amazing, our hotel in Tenerife was very subpar. As a result, we switched hotels and found a much better one, and they were good enough to make arrangements to get our money back from the previous hotel. The hotel in Madrid was amazing and the tours were very good. I think the communication was excellent, as they had a person on call at all times to respond to us.

We could not have done this trip without the help of our travel agent and her team. We took my mom to Sicily for the first time, and it was such a remarkable experience. We had many adventures we would not have been able to come up with on our own. The level of detail Zicasso’s agents put together was well worth it. We had a marvelous 10-day tour of Sicily arranged through Zicasso’s trip consultant. Our tour plan was ideal for activity level and allowed changes to take into account our special interests. The process of selecting one of the several boutique hotels presented in each city or town was good, since we could screen each of the hotel websites and even choose a room to then advise our travel agent. We stayed in each hotel for one to three nights, leaving for a day or half-day excursion. Each was unique, including one with our room in a family palazzo. Each generous breakfast was unique to the hotel’s region. All the drivers were punctual and provided comfortable vehicles to our hotels and tour sites. Our English-speaking guides were extremely competent at each town or site we visited, with walking tours lasting approximately two hours. Adequate free time was available to explore the towns on our own, with shopping streets and selected dinner restaurants easily within walking distance. Communication with the staff at our travel company was via WhatsApp and they kept in constant touch with us throughout. They immediately provided us with a new driver when the designated one became suddenly ill. Not a blip!

Our trip to Italy could not have been more perfect! Our travel agent did a spectacular job planning our incredible vacation. We had not been to Italy before and didn't know where to begin. She asked us about our interests and requests, and put together the most incredible package! It couldn't have been easier to navigate while we were there through the app. Our tour guides were so friendly and informative! Our accommodations were comfortable and beautiful. It was so nice to have a daily itinerary within the app. We knew each day who our guides would be and had contact numbers for any needs. On the rare occasion we had a question for our tour operator, she was very responsive, even with the six-hour time difference. Everything was planned perfectly and we didn't have to worry about a thing! I highly recommend Zicasso's travel partner for any trip to Italy!

This was our first trip to Italy and it was exactly as we had hoped for – a perfect balance of some wonderful tours, as well as carefully guided self tours to allow our own exploration of Rome and Florence. Zicasso’s travel company checked in daily and offered support and reminders. It was a wonderfully planned trip.

The trip was generally well executed. The private transportation was prompt and dependable. The hotels were fine (Rome was better than Florence, which lacked AC in the rooms) and well located. We appreciated the daily itinerary reminders on WhatsApp. We were disappointed that there was no customized treasure hunt for the kids at the Vatican as advertised. It was just a regular private tour with no special, child-focused content/activity. This was one of the main reasons we picked this travel company over the other travel agency, so a bummer it didn’t happen. There was also a miss with our cooking class. While we had an exceptional time with the chef, we didn’t get to do the “pick out the food at the local market” part since it was a national holiday and the market was closed. That is something the travel company should have caught upfront and adjusted the itinerary around, in my opinion. My final qualm is around Cinque Terre. We were told (even after pushing back) that it wouldn’t be a good idea to stay a night or two there because restaurants and other venues would not yet be open. However, the villages were bustling and active; we definitely should have spent more time there.

We had a phenomenal experience from start to finish! My husband and I worked with our travel partner from Zicasso to book our honeymoon trip to Italy. We were connected with her immediately after inquiring about our trip. We spoke over the phone about what we were looking for: a few days on the Amalfi Coast to relax and get the seaside vibes, then Rome and Florence for more of a cultural experience. She totally nailed the vibe and worked with us extensively to ensure we stayed within our budget. Through multiple iterations of our proposal, we landed on the perfect itinerary, with time to relax and explore (she even helped us add an additional day to our trip at the last minute with no hesitation). The hotels she recommended were top-notch and the experiences priceless. From the private drivers to the boat tours, everyone went above and beyond in their service. We had the trip of a lifetime and I couldn't recommend Zicasso and our travel agency more!

Travelling after BREXIT

How brexit will affect your holiday.

Travelling to Europe from 1st January 2021 may well require extra preparation and to help you on your way the following information is designed to help you prepare for a smooth journey.

Passports & Visas

British citizens travelling to EU countries will need to make sure their passport is valid for at least six months from your date of travel & it must be less than 10 years old (even if it has 6 months or more left to run). There may be a rush to renew passports so it is advisable to check your validity date in plenty of time. For more information please go to the government's passport checker.

The European Commission has confirmed that British citizens won’t need to apply for a visa if you’re travelling to Europe providing you are staying less than 90 days.

Health Insurance

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) allows any EU citizen to access state medical care when they are travelling in another EU country. If you currently hold an EHIC this will still be valid until its expiry date. It is always advised that holidaymakers make sure they have appropriate travel insurance, whether they have an EHIC card or not, as there are limitations to EHIC. It is important you take out travel insurance and check that it covers your current circumstances, including any medical conditions. If you have an annual policy, make sure you check the Terms and Conditions and contact your insurance provider if you are not sure. Further advice on travel insurance can be found on ABTA's travel insurance information web page .

Driving in Europe

UK driving licence holders will not require an international driving permit to drive a hire car in Europe.

If you are driving your own car in Europe you may need a separate Green Card, and the Government website recommends contacting an insurance provider six weeks before travel to obtain this. You may also require a GB sticker.
