Amo Julian Casablancas, Amo o The Voidz, Amo as músicas deles, de verdade.

2 - Lollapalooza Brasil 2017(The Strokes) - Ele tocou Yolo e Take it or Leave it em outros países, mas também não tocou no Brasil.

I had the pleasure of seeing this band live in Bilbao, Spain. Amazing performance, amazing energy. I love how JC interacts with the audience. This venue was a huge festival but the stage they performed on was intimate and the crowd was amazing. The Voidz was my number played band on Spotify this year and I can’t wait for their new album.

Great performance! The first act, Promiseland, ran all the way up to the balcony area and walked on the railing! All the bands had great energy. The only real criticism I had was that the GA area was wayyy too crowded, and I live for floor tickets and standing room only. But it was still fun.

The Voidz were incredible!! Everything from the show is something I will never forget. My first show with The Voidz was an outstanding performance. The location was worth it for me. Pricing was good. My only downfall is I didn’t have enough money for a shirt.

Great show. Mixing wasn’t perfect but I had an awesome time. My first time at the Wiltern and I look forward to the next time I can go to a show there.

The Voidz Experience Deja Vu on New Song “All the Same”: Stream

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

The post The Voidz Experience Deja Vu on New Song “All the Same”: Stream appeared first on Consequence .

The Voidz have officially released their new single, “All the Same,” after debuting it live in February 2020 at a secret show in Los Angeles. Stream it below.

Though “All the Same” has an upbeat, sunny instrumental, its lyrics are cynical and downtrodden, as Julian Casablancas sings about how we keep experiencing the same old shit: “You check the bad news once a day or two/ But you don’t know who’s feeding it to you/ It’s the same ole crooks trying to buy your vote/ And gossip makes more money than the truth.”

Along with the new track, The Voidz have been featured in an episode of Rebekah Sherman-Myntt’s documentary, TOMORROW! , filmed on the final night of their residency at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre last year. Watch it below.

“All the Same” will be featured in the upcoming film Drugstore June starring Miranda Cosgrove and Haley Joel Osment. It’s directed by Nicholas Goossen ( Grandma’s Boy ) and premieres in theaters this Friday, February 23rd.

The Voidz’s new single follows their return last year, which saw the release of the singles “Flexorcist” (which we named Song of the Week ), “American Way,” and “Prophecy of the Dragon.” Their last studio album,  Virtue , was released in 2018.

the voidz tour cancelled

What makes a good Halloween concert set? Is it the costumes, the crowd, the treats (sonic or otherwise), or just the vibes of the music itself? Tuesday night’s Voidz show revealed that it’s a commingling of all of the above, in which the joy of watching an energized performance comes from both the crowd and the band. The All Hallow’s Eve spirit was also accentuated by the atmosphere of the Murmrr Theatre, a small venue located in a synagogue, complete with stained glass windows. While such a setting doesn’t necessarily scream rock concert, the setup was designed to allow everyone to have a clear view, regardless of position on the floor. And being able to witness the psychedelic visuals emanating from the screen behind the band members was crucial, whether the backdrop displayed neon-patterned beams during “QYURRYUS” or an animated blooming flower accompanying “Did My Best.”

The varied graphics meshed perfectly with The Voidz’s sonic explorations of neo-psychedelia, art rock, and alternative dance. This heady blend can come across as more self-indulgent than lead singer Julian Casablancas’ chart-topping rock band The Strokes, especially when it comes to the distorted, hard-to-decipher vocals, but the project’s willingness to take abrasive risks is admirable. Both albums Voidz albums, 2014’s Tyranny and 2018’s Virtue , are difficult to pin down, and live, the songs are even more eclectic. The aforementioned “QYURRYUS” sounded like a moody synthpop track with a Middle Eastern-inspired vocal melody and autotune solos reminiscent of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak , while “Pyramid of Bones” is an alternative rock cut with heavy guitars that is almost John Carpenter-esque in its societal perspective.

Casablancas has dabbled in fairly progressive politics, interviewing luminaries like Noam Chomsky and Amy Goodman and publicly backing politicians like Bernie Sanders and New York City mayoral candidate Maya Wiley. It’s perhaps a natural progression from The Strokes’ 2001 A-side single “New York City Cops,” which was inspired by the 1999 murder of Amadou Diallo by four police officers. (After the events of 9/11, song was pulled from the American CD version of The Strokes’ debut album.) On stage, this civil aspect manifests in a flirtation with an awareness that he and his audience mostly come from privileged backgrounds. After complimenting the motley on their Halloween costumes, Casablancas said that he sometimes didn’t know when he was wearing a costume. While it could be a silly throwaway remark, it may also hint at an artist who is questioning his place in the world. Between songs, Casablancas occasionally appeared be lost in thought, and stared off into the distance without acknowledging he was standing in front of a paying audience.

The behavior can seem standoffish in practice, but it certainly lets the music speak for itself. There were cries for “Human Sadness” — a nearly 11-minute, borderline structureless experimental rock epic examining Casablancas’ relationship with his estranged father, who died in 2013 — which were largely ignored until the band surprised the house with a stripped-down version of the song. It’s an example of how the group’s relaxed style might be a sign of comfort and control rather than lack of engagement.

Regardless of any sporadic on-stage lassitude, the Brooklyn revelers clearly loved the show. At the end of the sparkling chords of “Leave It in My Dreams,” the people standing just in front of the stage rushed forward to greet guitarist Jeramy “Beardo” Gritter, who was throwing out written setlists onto the venue floor. It was a remarkable end to the night for the band, who put on a messy yet meticulously detailed performance that delivered a riveting communal experience, just right for the holiday.

Second round of Invited Celebrity Classic canceled due to inclement weather

Change Text Size

The second round of the Invited Celebrity Classic has been canceled due to inclement weather around Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas.

"Due to the current weather conditions and forecast throughout the greater Dallas-Forth Worth area, competition at the Invited Celebrity Classic presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts will be canceled for Saturday, April 20," a statement released by PGA TOUR Champions announced. "Round 2 will be played on Sunday, April 21 and will utilize the same tee times. As a result of today's cancellation, this event will now be contested as a 36-hole competition. There will be no formal cut."

This marks the second time this season that a PGA TOUR Champions event will be official after 36 holes of competition. Stephen Ames was declared the winner of the The Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO after 36 holes of competition earlier this season as weather caused Sunday's final round to be canceled.

Thomas Bjørn holds the 18-hole lead at 7-under with a pack of four golfers one stroke behind him at 6-under. Bjørn, who has never won on PGA TOUR Champions, finished runner-up at the Trophy Hassan II in February, his only other start this season.

The Weeknd has cancelled the Australia and New Zealand leg of his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

Ticketek emailed concert ticket holders on Tuesday stating that full refunds would be made while the company tries to “work through the rescheduling process with the artist.”

The tour was first postponed in November last year due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The Australian leg of the star’s tour was set to include a concert at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, with other dates to follow.

But now all dates have been cancelled, with Ticketek recommending fans to sign up to a waitlist in case the dates do get rescheduled down the track.

“The Weeknd ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ for Australia & New Zealand is still in the process of being rescheduled. While we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled,” Ticketek stated on its website.

“All purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

“Ticket holders of the shows who previously held on to their tickets will be able to access a priority purchase window for the new tour in Australia and New Zealand when announced.

“In order to gain access to the priority pre-sale, please make sure you opt in and join the waitlist here.

“Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchases, if applicable) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.

“Patrons should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account.”

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, has yet to post about the Australia and New Zealand cancellation on social media.

His most recent Instagram post was made on April 13, hinting that a new album was dropping soon.

But plenty of Australian fans were also dropping into the comments, hoping for some more information about when he would appear Down Under.

“Bro completely forgot about his Australia tour,” one fan wrote.

“Did you forget Australia?” wondered another.

“Ok cool, release Australia dates?” begged another.

On Tuesday, some fans headed back to that April 13 post to express their frustration at the tour being cancelled.

“So f***ing mad ... just got the email,” one wrote.

“WHAT NO PLEASE NO,” wrote another.

“RIP the aus/nz tour got cancelled 💀💀,” added a third.

Kid Cudi has officially canceled his upcoming Insano world tour after breaking his ankle during his Coachella set on Sunday (April 21).

The rapper revealed the news of the tour cancelation on X (formerly Twitter) today, stating that the injury requires a recovery period that interferes with the tour dates. All tickets will be refunded and the tour will be rescheduled for a later time.

Cudi last appeared at Coachella in 2019, when he performed cuts from “Kids See Ghosts” alongside his collaborative album partner Kanye West. The 43-date Insano world tour was scheduled to kick off on July 28 in Austin, Texas, and featured support from Pusha T, Jaden and Earthgang.

All of the festivals wished her rest and recovery on social media.

Mighty Hoopla wrote , "We are sending so much love to Kim and will update you on our lineup very soon."

"It is with great sadness that we announce that Kim Petras's concert has been canceled. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her soon," Primavera Sound Porta wrote .

At the  Billboard Women in Music  awards in March 2023, the dance-pop singer spoke to USA TODAY about her smash hit with Smith.

"It's been crazy, it's been nonstop," Petras said. "I still can't really believe that that happened … but I'm a workaholic and I love working, so I celebrate by going even harder."

The German-born artist also shared a  piece of advice to her LGBTQ fans  passionate about pursuing music and breaking barriers.

Kim Petras' 'Feed the Beast' stamps her status as the new club music star we need

"Stay true to what makes you special, believe in that. Disregard what other people have to say. Be really nice," she said. "Find people who understand you and who want to be on the journey with you. Find people you trust. Don't ever forget the passion you have as an artist. Make sure that whatever you're a part of, and whatever you make, makes you happy. It's important that you love what you do."

Commencement Update, April 25, 2024

Red Zoom Background with yellow striples in the the middle saying Class of 2024

This update provides information about our upcoming 2024 commencement events. To ensure we host commencement activities and celebrate our graduates safely, we will be implementing additional security measures. These include ticketing of all commencement events taking place on May 8-11 and directing all campus access through specific points of entry.

We are in the process of finalizing details, and all schedules, ticketing processes, and additional materials will be posted on our  commencement  website by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.  Once posted, we will do our best to minimize changes so as not to disrupt your planning.

Events and Schedules:

As in previous years, the university will be hosting dozens of commencement events,  including all the traditional individual school commencement ceremonies where students cross the stage, have their names announced, are photographed, and receive their diplomas.  In keeping with tradition, we will be hosting all doctoral hooding ceremonies, special celebrations, and departmental activities and receptions.

With the new safety measures in place this year, the time needed to process the large number of guests coming to campus will increase substantially.  As a result, we will not be able to host the main stage ceremony that traditionally brings 65,000 students, families, and friends to our campus all at the same time and during a short window from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

We understand that this is disappointing; however, we are adding many new activities and celebrations to make this commencement academically meaningful, memorable, and uniquely USC, including places to gather with family, friends, faculty, and staff, the celebratory releasing of the doves, and performances by the Trojan Marching Band.

Ticketing and Safety Measures:

1. Tickets will be required to access campus and all commencement events taking place on May 8-11, 2024.  Graduating students will be able to reserve, free of charge, tickets for themselves and up to eight named guests. Tickets will not be transferrable. There will be an appeal process if more tickets are needed. We will begin reserving tickets early next week.

2. Prior to entering commencement events, we will screen people and bags, using security measures similar to those for attending athletic events at the Coliseum and before entering many other large venues.

3. Please note, we will have a clear bag policy.

4. You should allow more time  — to park, go through security, enjoy campus, and get seated at the various ceremonies.  Commencement ceremonies take place at different times and various locations on or adjacent to our campus.  Guests and graduates will be able to plan their arrival times to meet their own needs. There will be hospitality areas, a variety of places to sit, rest, and hydrate in the shade before and after your ceremony.

Conferring of Degrees:

The most important part of commencement is the presentation of degrees, which will take place at our individual school ceremonies. For those who have never attended a graduation (like many students this year), we’ve created  a gallery of photos from ceremonies of previous years  so you can see how joyful and special these are.

Further Information:

Further information, including detailed maps, parking instructions, ADA accommodations, public transportation, ticketing information, and our code of conduct and expectations, can be found at the  2024 Commencement website . Demonstration and free speech zone policies will be posted, as well, so everyone understands how we will ensure a safe and orderly commencement. This is a one-stop site that will be updated regularly.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make our arrangements for a celebratory and significant experience for our 2024 Trojan graduates.

Kid Cudi, one of Joe Burrow's 'idols,' cancels Insano World Tour after breaking foot

We can now say that Joe Burrow and his favorite rapper have one thing in common.

They're both on the injured reserve.

Kid Cudi, an Ohio native and known to be one of the Bengals quarterback's "idols growing up," announced in an X post Wednesday that he is canceling his Insano Engage the Rage World Tour after breaking his foot at Coachella on Sunday.

Cudi said in the post that he has a "broken calcaneus" and that he'd soon be undergoing surgery. He added that "there's gonna be a long recovery time."

"We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all," Cudi said. "There's just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more severe than I thought."

The nine-month tour featured over 40 concerts across North America and Europe. It was scheduled to kick off in Austin, Texas, June 28 and he was supposed to stop in Cincinnati on Aug. 2 for a show at the Heritage Bank Center, as well as in his hometown of Cleveland on July 31.

Cudi added in the post that anyone who bought tickets will get a full refund and new tour dates will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

The 40-year-old rapper, who was a special treat just for second-weekend fans at the coveted music festival in Indio, California, played to an overflowing Sahara tent crowd. However, late in his 40-minute set, he tried to jump down from the stage during his hit "Memories" and he severely injured his foot in the process.

He took an awkward tumble and immediately winced as he rolled to the ground. He was seen being escorted off by two men as he was not able to put weight on his leg.

He confirmed in a late-night social media post that he did in fact break his foot.

The Insano World Tour is named after Cudi's ninth studio album, "Insano," which was released in January and features 20 tracks.

Shad Powers of the Palm Springs Desert Sun contributed to the report.
