Underground cities are literally cities build underground. Some of them are really huge – 12 stories below. They were used to hide against invaders during the war. Cappadocia has dozens of underground cities. Stout rolling-stone doors prevented invaders from entering. Deep wells provided water and tall chimneys ventilation. Wine presses, oil storage, livestock pens, cooking-places and even elaborate churches were carved out of the rock so that the inhabitants could live for weeks or months underground until it was safe to emerge and return to their ground-level villages. After the Underground City Tour, a visit to a Pottery Shop will end the Day 1 Tour. Or you can opt to avail an optional tour, the Whirling Dervish & Local Show at Cave comes with unlimited drinks!

What are some places Filipino citizens can visit in Turkey?

If you are planning to visit Turkey from the Philippines, you can check our list of places given below to get a better idea about Turkey:

The battlements of Karatepe

One of Turkey's most significant Neo-Hittite (dating from 700 BC) ruins may be seen at this serene open-air museum, 126 kilometres northeast of Adana.

Asativatas, a neo-Hittite prince, constructed his Asativataya Fortress in Karatepe-Aslantaş, a dense pine forest abutting the Aslantaş Dam, and adorned it with stone orthostats depicting intricately detailed scenes and inscriptions.

Several little enclaves of Hittite sovereignty persisted and developed independently after the Bronze Age Hittite Empire of Anatolia fell. Karatepe-Aslantaş was built during this turbulent time.

The squat outside battlements, which outline the contour of the building, are the main remnants of the castle today. The carved stone decorations that made Karatepe-Aslantaş renowned were discovered during archaeological excavations in this area in the 1940s and 1950s.

However, unlike other sites, the masonry at this one has remained on-site and is currently on exhibit at several locations along woodland paths inside the fortress region.

Varda Viaduct

The Varda Viaduct was built to aid the Ottoman Istanbul-Baghdad railway line, but it is now more recognised for its significant role in the James Bond film Skyfall. It crosses the constricting canyon of Akt Deresi.

The 172-meter-long bridge, which is 98 metres above the canyon's lowest point, is lined with eleven stone arches.

If you want to cross the viaduct, take the Toros Express train, which runs between Adana and Konya every day. Since the train route crosses the Taurus Mountains to get between the two cities, it is a beautiful journey.

From the village of Karaisal, go another 18 kilometres via the signs to reach the viaduct. 52 kilometres northwest of Adana city through the province's agricultural heartland will take you there.

There are a few cafés that provide panoramic views of the bridge on the gorge's brink.

Kızkalesi's Glut of Ruins

The beach town of  Kızkalesi is located 144 kilometres southwest of Adana and is a favourite with locals and Scandinavian vacationers during the extended summer beach season.

The Kızkalesi region is full of ancient sites, but the majority of visitors come here to lounge on the strip of shingle and sand that surrounds the town. A day spent seeing its Greco-Roman remains is one of the greatest day excursions from Adana.

The castles rank as the two most well-known sights.  The northernmost point of Kızkalesi Beach is marked by Corycus Castle, while Kızkalesi Castle, which is slightly offshore and commands a view of the shore, may be accessed by the frequent boat journeys that run to and from the beach.

The Olba Plateau, the area surrounding Kızkalesi, is covered in ruinous sites.

Coming from Adana, you will pass the ruins of Elaiussa Sebaste around four kilometres before you get into town. Before touring the Byzantine church and the Roman Agora with its intact mosaics, scramble up to the Roman theatre carved into the mountainside.

The Roman necropolis of Adamkayalar is located in the hills to the north of Kızkalesi. The site has several collapsed tomb monuments, but it is most known for its first-century AD sculpted cliffside reliefs honouring the dead.

The views from Assos

Nothing could be more romantic than spending your honeymoon in one of the small, secluded boutique hotels nestled in the winding, steep streets of Behramkale, and waking up to views of the Aegean Sea and the Assos Ruins from your terrace.

A lot of the solid stone homes in the little hilltop town of Behramkale have been turned into boutique hotels. The Temple of Athena is situated in one of Turkey's most picturesque locations for ruin, with the blue-green sea stretching out below to the Greek island of Lesbos, just below the winding town streets.

Around the hamlet, there are additional smaller sites to see as well. From here, you may also take a day excursion to Troy.

Bozcaada Island

Bozcaada is a popular Turkish island getaway, and its beaches and laid-back holiday atmosphere make it a preferred choice for honeymooners.

The main appeal of Bozcaada rests in the fact that there isn't much to do other than slow down and take in the peaceful pace of Aegean island life, despite the fact that more athletic couples may windsurf and kitesurf off the beaches here.

Before basking in the sun on one of the island's beaches, take a drive into the heart of the island, where vine-draped farms span the hills.

Take an afternoon stroll around the charming old-town area of Bozcaada Town, which has preserved its traditional Aegean architecture, and then have a meal of delicious seafood while watching the sunset over the Aegean Sea.

Many of the boutique hotels in Bozcaada have terraces with views of the ocean, making them ideal for chic romantic getaways.

While residing on Bozcaada Island, you may easily visit the Troy archaeological site, or even add a car trip around the adjacent Biga Peninsula to your honeymoon following your island stay, if you do feel like doing some extra sightseeing.

Given its closeness to Ayvalk, the island is frequently visited on day trips, despite having small hotels.

TURKEY E-VISA: Requirements + How to Apply Online

TURKEY E-VISA: Requirements + How to Apply Online

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

Okay, let’s go straight to the point.

Not everyone is eligible to apply for a Turkish e-visa. It is only available to those who have a valid visa or residence permit from the United States (USA), the United Kingdom (UK), Ireland, or any Schengen country.

If you’re not holding a valid visa from any of the mentioned countries , I’m afraid you will have to apply for a sticker visa at the Turkish Embassy. Unfortunately, I can’t be of much help regarding that because I didn’t get to experience it. All I know is that the application begins by filling out this form: Turkey Visa Application Form .

If you’re holding a valid US/UK/Ireland/Schengen visa or residence permit, read on . Here are the steps to get a visa completely online!

The process is the same for all these nationalities including Filipinos, although they might be a few changes in the prerequisites and duration of validity so please pay attention to details during your application.

Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, China, Comoros, Congo, Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, East Timor, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Kuwait, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Lithuania, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, São Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Swaziland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom (UK), Vanuatu, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe

1. Visit Turkey’s E-Visa Application Website.

The address is: www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ .

Once it loads, enter your country, passport type, and security verification code.

turkey travel philippines

2. Enter your travel date.

Your travel date must be within the next 3 months. You won’t be able to choose a date beyond that.

If you’re traveling over three months from now, you will have to wait until your travel date becomes clickable.

turkey travel philippines

The validity of the e-visa will also be displayed. For example, in my case, since I’m holding a Philippine passport, my visa will be valid for 6 months (180 days), which means I can enter Turkey anytime within that period. Not to be confused with the allowed “length of stay”, which is only 30 days. Again, that means I can enter Turkey within the next 6 months, but once I do, I can only remain there not longer than 30 days.

3. Make sure you meet all the requirements.

The next page will display the list of prerequisites. You must meet ALL these requirements and be able to present them on your day of travel . Do not lie. Even if you’re granted an e-visa now, they may still deny you entry if you miss any of the following.

  • You have a valid passport that covers your travel period. (In PH case, your passport must also have at least 6-month validity.)
  • A return ticket.
  • Hotel reservation.
  • Funds of at least USD 50 per day of your stay in Turkey.
  • Valid supporting document. This may be a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, Ireland, or any Schengen country. In case I haven’t emphasized it enough, the visa has to be valid . It must also be in physical sticker form, not electronic. E-visas, even if they’re valid, will not be accepted. You will be showing it when you enter the country.

You won’t be submitting the return ticket or hotel reservation online or at any point during your application. You will be presenting these (and the supporting document) to the Immigration Officers at the airport upon entering the country.

E-visas are available for tourism and business purposes only.

4. Complete the Application Form.

On the next page, fill out the short form with your personal details. It is important that you enter information exactly as they appear on your passport.

turkey travel philippines

In case the info on your passport doesn’t match that on your e-visa, the e-visa will be considered void, so be very careful in typing your details.

When you click Save and Continue , you will be asked to verify the info you entered. Make sure you double check that the details are exactly as they are on your passport.

Click Verify .

5. Check Your Email.

You should receive an email asking you to verify your application. Click Approve.

If you don’t receive an email, check your Spam or Junk folder.

6. Make payment.

When you click Approve on your email, you will be taken to the payment page. Fill out the short form and pay.

The price of the visa is USD 20 , payable using MasterCard, Visa, or UnionPay credit card.

7. Download your e-Visa.

Once the transaction is completed, you will be taken to a page that will tell you that the process is over and that the e-visa is ready for download. Click Download your E-Visa and you’ll get a PDF file. Print it out and voila! There’s your e-visa. The same file will be emailed to you separately.

The visa looks like this:

turkey travel philippines

When I used it, the first thing the Immigration Officer asked me was if I was a Seafarer. I answered no, then he asked for my passport and supporting visa. Since my supporting visa was in my old, previous passport (which I always bring with me), I had to hand him that one too. He also checked my onward ticket — I was flying to Morocco next — looked at it very briefly, asked how long I would be staying in Turkey, and let me through. No other questions.

That’s it! Enjoy your stay in Turkey!

Note: When I visited Turkey in 2016, I was able to get a Turkish e-visa using my Japan visa and the application was smooth as butter. Back then, they accepted any visa from OECD countries. However: It’s no longer the case. I guess they narrowed down the list of accepted supporting visas recently. Too bad!

Anong ibig sabihin nang VALID SCHENGEN VISA? Ibig bang sabihin nito ay hindi pa expired? So kung may SCHENGEN VISA ako last 2014, di na po ba pwedeng gamitin ito as one of my documents? Salamat po.

Yosh Dimen

Yep, hindi pa expired dapat. And nope, you can’t use your 2014 Schengen visa if expired/used na sya.

Mel

There’s no need for interview/appearance sa embassy? Yung printed copy lang po ang dadalhin and just show to immigration officer? I dont need to attach it (like staple it) sa passport? Thank you po.

If you have any of the supporting docs listed above, no need for interview.

Just print out a copy and show it to Immigration Officer. No need to staple it.

Chaps

Hello. Thank you for this article. I hold a valid B1/B2 US Visa. I am planning to go this July 2018. When i followed your instruction i can like apply and e-visa will be up to Aug 5,2018 (which is fine). Question. Is the flight details or ticket and bank certificate needed during the e-visa application? Thank you.

Hi Chaps, in our case, no.

Mimi

With this Visa, can you visit other Schengen countries like Germany, Switzerland or France? I had several schengen visas from other embassies like (Swiss and German). Just making sure if it’s the same as this Turkish Schengen visa. Thanks in advance :)

No, for those countries, you will need an actual Schengen Visa.

To clarify, this is not a Turkish Schengen Visa. This is Turkish Visa. Turkey is not part of the Schengen agreement.

james

Hi, I don’t understand. Does it mean I need to have either a US, UK or Schengen visa as a requirement to enter Turkey? What if I don’t have any of the Visas mentioned?

Yep, you need any of the supporting visas mentioned for an E-Visa. If you don’t have any of them, you need to apply for a physical visa at their consulate.

Elaine

hi. we applied for evisa, kaso nakalimutan e enter yung middle name, is the visa still valid or do we need to make new one?

KS

regarding the airplane ticket… im thinking of getting one of those temporary ones (which you can refund if the visa doesnt get approved)..

so my question is, if my ticket when I enter Turkey is different from the one I presented during the application would this be an issue?

Hi KS, you won’t be submitting the return ticket or hotel reservation online or at any point during your application. You will be presenting these (and the supporting document) to the Immigration Officers at the airport upon entering the country.

So it really doesn’t matter. :)

Kat

For the 50 USD fund per day. Should it be in form of bank certificate or actual cash may be presented to the immigration officer?

Hi Kat! Hmmm, I’m not sure kasi when I entered Turkey, kahit na requirement siya, the officer didn’t ask me how much money I have with me. He just asked me how long I would be staying, checked my onward ticket and hotel booking, and then let me through.

I think it can be either. Cash might be yung mas expected but for longer stays, if they ask for proof of funds on the spot, I think they would also consider a bank certificate and then show them your ATM card. Pero safer I think if may cash component. Again, that’s just a hunch kasi they never asked me.

Not sure if this will help, but the next country I visited after this was Morocco. Sila, nag-ask sila how much money I had. I said I only had a few hundred dollars, and then I showed my ATM and credit cards. They let me through. Pero this was in Morocco. Baka iba rin policy nila.

Anne

Hi! I’m planning to travel in turkey come september. I’m a filipino working here in Saudi. Just want to clarify as to whether I can apply an evisa for turkey or not? I don’t have a US nor schengen visa. Thanks!

Tikya

It will be my first time to travel to turkey and planning a one week vacation. Im not a traveller and i only been to hongkong… Im also just a minimum or a little average earner. How much money should i have in d bank so that embassy will accept my visa application…

appreciate your input. thanks!

Hi! I don’t know how much you should have if you’re applying for a physical visa. I only experienced applying for an e-visa, which doesn’t require a bank account.

Nomadbabe

I am planning to visit Turkey and stay there for 10 days. I was denied of UK Standard visa so I’m afraid I’ll be denied again with Turkey. If I need to apply for a physical visa at the consulate, is there an interview process? Is it tedious? Is the payment the same as the e-visa application?

Hi Nomadbabe, I haven’t tried applying for a physical visa so I dunno… :(

Ethel

Hi po! Did Turkey immigration ask for med insurance together with the evisa? Thank you

Hi Jenny, in our case, no.

Mikee

Hello… regarding the evisa… i already printed the visa and the receipt… but the problem is i did not receive link in my email… okay lang po ba yun??? Thank you

Hi Mikee, it should be fine if successful naman. But have you checked your Spam folder? If wala talaga and you have a reference number, you can check your application here: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/status/

If wala ka reference number, may contact form din dun sa site.

Sha

Valid–meaning the visa must be double or multiple entry, right? I was planning to go to Turkey after London, so if I only have a single-entry visa, then it would invalid by the time I enter Turkey, am I right? :( :/

Hi Sha, yes, I think.

Shobe

Hi! I have approved e-visa na. But nakalagay dito need raw valid medical insurance? Did u get one? Kasi may ibang blogs ako nakita di naman nila sinabi na its important. May isa din sabi its not really compulsory to get one. Pero sa e-visa nakalagay talaga na “u should be covered with a valid e-visa”.. Pls help im confused.

tin

hi. do you have US/Schengen when you applied for e-visa?

Hi Shobe, ako hindi kasi walang naka-list sa akin na needed yun. Pero if nasa list mo yun, kuha ka na lang din.

SJ

Hi. just want to ask do you have any idea if your US Visa is a Working Visa, Still can do E-Turkish visa?

Mike

Hi, did this work for you? This is also my question. Thanks!

Hi SJ, sorry, I have no idea :(

hi. aside from Japan visa, meron ka din bang US/schengen visa? diba po eligible lang to apply for e-visa if you have US/Schengen visa. in your case, you applied your Japan Visa. hindi ba ngkaproblema sa immig? hindi ba hinananap ung US/Schengen? kasi nbasa ko sa ibang blog, if you were granted e-visa, hhanapin dw ng immig officer ang us/schengen visa

Hi Tin! As mentioned in the article, Japan visa is NO LONGER accepted. Only visas from US/UK/Ireland/Schengen are accepted now.

Sayang nga eh. Dati kasi pwede ang Japan visa. Pero inalis na nila. We’ll remove na lang din yung paragraph about our own experience sa post para hindi maging confusing.

roy

may ibang kakilala po ba kayo na nkakuha ng e-visa using Japan visa?

Hi Roy! As mentioned in the article, Japan visa is NO LONGER accepted. Only visas from US/UK/Ireland/Schengen are accepted now.

Sayang nga eh. Dati kasi pwede ang Japan visa. Pero inalis na nila. We’ll remove na lang din yung paragraph about our own experience para hindi maging confusing.

hello po. kapag my e-visa for tukey, pwd na ba mkapasok s ibang parts of europe like paris, switzerland and italy?

No po. You need Schengen Visa for those places.

hi. required po ba ang travel insurance kung mag aaply for e-visa? thanks

In our case, hindi. Di ko alam if may certain cases na required yun. Pero malalaman mo naman yun when you begin your application. May list silang ibibigay.

Nazia

Hi I applied for evisa for turkey,I selected residence permit of United Kingdom as a supporting document. On Evisa it shows visa / United Kingdom in additional visa section . Do I have to apply again ?

CM

Would I be qualified for a Turkish e-visa with this scenario below?

I have been granted a long-term student visa for Spain which I got approved in July 2019 and I am entering Spain on the last week of September after a weeklong trip to Turkey.

Sharing it here now so I can sort out in the next few months.

Hi CM, I have no idea about student visas. Sorry. :(

ABEGAIL CHUMACERA

Hi we are Travel Agency but were not accredited in Turkish Embassy Manila. Can we just still submit the application of our clients?

Rache Guzman

Hi Yoshke, This was very helpful !! cant seem to find the legit link to get the online application. it was mostly 3rd parties. Thank you for this :)

No prob! Good luck with your application!

Rox Sarmiento

Thank you for writing this blog Yoshke :) I just printed out my e-visa and used my US visa to apply which is valid until 2026 but I’ve never been to the USA yet. Hope that’s okay??? Thanks much! more power!

Hi Rox, yes, that should be fine. Don’t forget to bring the other requirements upon entry. :)

Chris

Hello po! Sobrang helpful ng blogpost na to. I’ll be travelling to the US in a few weeks with a layover in Istanbul and kaka-discover ko lang about sa free day tour c/o Turkish Airlines. Eligible naman po to qualify based on my flight details. My only concern is will I still be granted an e-visa if my sole purpose of applying is to avail the tour (and since ang mura lang ng application fee)? tsaka pano pag wala akong hotel reservation sa Istanbul, maaprove parin kaya since its one of the requirements? Thank you po!

Hi Chris, di ako familiar sa free tour ng Turkish Airlines so I’m not sure, but I think it’s fine.

Gwen

hi dimen. i have questions:

1. may i know if the applicant ages 60-75 years old, require medical requirement in processing turkish visa? 2. where can i find basically the turkish visa requirements in the site? 3. How much is the visa fee of turkish visa? 4. Do the applicant need personal appearance after they book online appointment?

appreciate your soonest response in this regard.

Not sure if you’ve read the post above. But the answers to your questions 2-4 are in the post.

Note though that this article is about E-VISA, not the physical visa. If it’s the latter you’re after, I can’t be of help since I haven’t experienced applying for a physical visa.

Joseph Azucena

I have schengen visa valid until august 13 can I still apply for a eVisa as of today and use it after August 13? Planned Travel date is November or December 2019

Hi Joseph, as far as I know, the Schengen visa has to be valid at the time of travel.

Vins

What if US citizen? Do they still need valid supporting document or ok na yung US passport? When they travel to Barcelona kasi hindi na sila ni-require to get Schengen visa. Thank you!

Dina

If i am egyptian and i hold usa visa Where can i find the supporting document number to apply to the turkish evisa online ???

Rufa

Hi. Question. My spanish visa is valid until Nov 5, 2019. And i am planning to enter in on Nov 4, 2019 and will stay until Nov 6, 2019. Is that okay? Thanks

Hi. Question. My spanish visa is valid until Nov 5, 2019. And i am planning to enter in turkey on Nov 4, 2019 and will stay until Nov 6, 2019. Is that okay? Thanks

Patrick

Hello! My question is I have a valid US Visa and applying for e-visa.. but I want to go to St. Petersburg after Turkey and fly back after, so I only have an one way trip to turkey and flying back home thru St. Petersburg Russia. Will that be ok or I will also present my Ticket from russia to mania? Thanks.

Hi Patrick,

For Turkish Immigration, they need to see your exit flight (along with the other requirements). They don’t need to see your flight from St. Petersburg to Manila.

However, the Philippine Immigration might ask for your ticket back to Manila.

Margarita paler jumaran

Hi Yokshe, I have a Schengen Visa now but the dates are June-July 2022. Can I apply for a Turkish E-Visa as early as now (March 2022)? The traveling date to Turkey will be April 2022. Will the Turkey Embassy deem my Schengen Visa valid? It’s impossible to get answers from the Turkish Embassy about this. I tried emailing, calling, and asking someone to physically go to the embassy but I haven’t received any answers. Thanks!

Hi Anne, I’m not sure but as far as I know, your travel date in Turkey should be within the validity of the supporting visa. Ganun kasi ung experience ko sa ibang countries when using Schengen as support.

I double checked pero ito lang sabi ng website nila:

“The only requirement for your visa to be used as a supporting document is that it should be still valid (by date) by the time you enter Turkey. Previously used or unused single-entry visas are accepted as long as their validity date covers your entry date to Turkey.”

Anon

Hello! does US Tourist Visa (B1/B2) includes in ‘valid’ visa ??

Kristelle Lopez

Hi, was planning to apply for the e visa. I still have a valid B1/B2 US visa, would I be considered eligible?

Anonymous

Paano kaya yun imbis na expiry ang nailagay ko eh issuance date…. Huhuhu

Cppccv

Hi sir, schengen tourist visa ba pwede?

Yes, if it’s valid during your travel dates.

Kookie

Hi, the application asked for the “Given Names”,but in the Philippine passport, the “Given Names” and “Middle Names” are different. Which should you enter? Also, would you know if the US visa number are the digits in red font at the lower right portion of the visa? Thank you po.

lyka

Thank you for sharing! Hope you can write about the turkey visa sticker application soon.

Rhea Flor Alpanta

As a Filipino citizen without this supporting documents like the resident visa from USA/UK/Ireland or what ,do I have to get it ? Oh wow I thought I just need e-visa from Turkey embassy without getting this one.

Not sure what the latest policy is now, but afaik, if not eligible for e-visa, you may apply for a physical visa. More info here: https://www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/Visa/Index

Maria Gutierrez

Hi! Yosh. I have multiple entry Schengen visa valid for 25 days only. I was able to apply for Turkish e-visa. Do I need to travel first to the Schengen countries before entering Turkey? Or its okay that my first stop is Turkey then proceed to Schengen countries? Thank you for answering my questions in advance.

Hi! According to the official e-visa website:

“The only requirement for your visa to be used as a supporting document is that it should be still valid (by date) by the time you enter Türkiye. Previously used or unused single-entry visas are accepted as long as their validity date covers your entry date to Türkiye.”

Here’s the link: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/info/what-are-the-criteria-for-the-validity-of-my-supporting-document-visa-or-residence-permit-from-schengen-or-from-us-uk-and-ireland/

Kacey

Hi Yosh! Based on that statement, does this mean if I have a single entry Schengen visa and it is used already, I can still enter Turkey provided that the visa is still valid? For example, visa validity is from Aug 1 to Sept 1 for 7 days stay. Visa was used in Schengen country and stayed there for 6 days then traveled to Turkey on Aug 30, do we have the same understanding that this is still valid? Thank you.

Hi Kacey, how I understood it, yes. But best to post this on The Poor Traveler Support Group on FB. Perhaps there’s someone there who has done it themselves, so you could get a first-hand account din. :)

xkayah

Thank you so much :)

helen

hi sir asked ko lang po sana anu po requirements pag kumuha ng e visa img going to turkey, please help me po,first time po ako

Dan

Hi, We have a valid Schengen tourist visa. is this sufficient?

Yel

Hi! Just checking, I have an unused UK visa valid from October 26 2023 until next year. I plan to travel to Turkey on October 1-16. I got a Turkey E-Visa as the application portal only asked for the expiration date of the UK Visa and the visa number, which I both had. The website and FAQ pages seems like they’re only concerned about the expiration date of the UK visa supporting document.

Do you think this will be an issue that my Turkey e-visa’s start date is October 1, when the supporting document has validity date?

Crafting Your Ideal Turkey Itinerary

Considering all there is to see and do in Turkey, planning the ideal schedule might be difficult. To assist you in planning your vacation, we’ve put together a list of places you simply must visit.

Although English is extensively spoken in tourist areas, Turkish is the official language. Turkish residents may find it useful and appreciative if they learn a few simple words and phrases. Although Turkey is a secular nation, it is nonetheless advisable to dress modestly, especially when visiting places of worship. In mosques, women should bring a scarf to cover their heads. Tipping: In Turkey, tipping is usual. In restaurants, a 10% tip is customary; for hotel personnel and tour guides, minor tips are welcome.

How To Apply For Turkey Tourist Visa For Filipinos

turkey tourist visa

Turkey is an alluring destination that has glorious landscapes, sun-soaked Mediterranean seas, mighty mountains and steppes that are vertigo-inducing. It is a beautiful nation straddled between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. Natural wonders such as Pamukkale and Cappadocia are the top things to do here.

Galata Tower

It has strong cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. If you’ve been eyeing Turkey as your next travel destination, surely you’ve seen the architectural resemblance to those stated above.

It’s also known for their vibrant culture, vast history and not to mention—exotic and famous cuisine that will excite your palate.

Just by reading that you’re probably getting excited, so let’s get to the point on the process of obtaining the Turkey tourist visa for Filipinos.

Filipino travellers are required to have visas before they can travel to Turkey. They must lodge their Turkey visa applications at the Embassy of Turkey in Manila as visas are not obtainable to them at the ports of entry.

Turkey Visa Requirements For Filipino Citizens

10. If invited by the government or private sector and international companies or institutions holding office in Turkey– Original invitation letter addressed to the embassy.

If invited by a Turkish national – Original invitation letter must be notarized in Turkey, affidavit of support and pertinent credentials of the invitee together with the Turkish IDs and other supporting documents.

11. Confirmed hotel accommodation booking.

12. Round-trip airline ticket .

Please note:

  • The visa fee is non-refundable.
  • The Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documentation when deemed necessary.
  • Filipino applicants may need to appear personally to lodge their Turkey tourist visa applications.
  • Visa processing fees may vary depending on the type of visa applied for and nationality of the applicant. Please contact the Embassy to obtain the most accurate information on visa fees.

Mount Nemrut

Filipinos are strongly advised to confirm the above-mentioned information on visa and entry requirements before traveling to Turkey, as these may change from time to time. Take note that original documents and their photocopies are presented and submitted. Incomplete documents will not be accepted.

If they are deemed satisfied with the documents you presented, you will be asked for a P2,500 single entry tourist visa fee with a claim stub of the visa release. The processing time for acquiring a Turkey visa for Filipinos is usually within ten (10) working days from the receipt of application.

Mount Nemrut

The Embassy of Turkey opens from 9:30AM-12:00NN every Monday to Friday except Wednesday. It is important that you arrive early since there are cut-offs.

For further details on Turkish immigration requirements, Filipinos are advised to contact the Turkish Embassy in Manila:

Me and my family were planning to go to Turkey for 3 weeks.10 days only for Istanbul, about one week Agean Sea and Mediterranean Sea tours including Bodrum,Antalya trips and the last 3 days for Cappadocia. We shared this there mANILA Turkish Embassy, but i think the woman who got our application didn’t listen us well.I dunno why but the interview ended up only in 2 mins.Me and my parents used to travel every summer and we have been 6 different countries already (including Italy and Portugal). Anyway after 2 weeks we got Turkish Embassy again, the woman gave to our passports and then she started to talk with my dad and she said our visa confirmed just for 15 days so it is better if we change our itinerary. My dad tried to explain and also after Turkey we were planning to visit Georgia (Caucasian country near Turkey) and that’s why he said ‘ok maybe we can stay in Georgia 1 mopre week’ .after that the woman smiled and said ‘yeah good idea’. I was really angry. We are not beggars. We applied visa for Schengen countries before and nobody acted like that. I said to my dad ‘who in the world do they think theirselves?

Turkey might be beautiful country and i am sure it is but we will not go there. My dad and my mom is pharmacist and also i am a nurse. We brought all the documents before we got Turkish Embassy. But i am sure they didn’t even check our visa files.Have a nice day all the Pinoys

I was planning to stay in Turkey about 10 days but i was denied also 🙂 Anyway every country has different rules and visa policy. So i can understand this. This coming July i am planning to travel Dubai and Qatar. This will be the first time in Mid-East.Happy sundays everybody and enjoy your travels!!

Im planning to go to turkey because my friend is a turkish national. He invited me to come. I hope my visa will get approved since this is my first time to go abroad.

I am planning to apply for Turkish visa in the coming month, can you please give me ideas what documents I need to submit apart from the primary and basic requirements that were already mentioned. Im just worried that I might also be denied, it’ll be my first time to apply for a visa like Turkey. Thank you

Did you already went to Turkish Embassy? how was the experience? I went there but I think the girl doesn’t care at all even if you submit your documents completely.

I have the same experience last month when I submitted my application. The woman was so rude, she didn’t even let me finish when she asked about my intention to visit the country instead she asked for the $60 immediately and that was all it only took less than 5 mins for the whole interview. And unfortunately I got a denied visa just couple weeks ago, I am not sure of the reason although I submitted a complete requirements and all (travel ins., flight itinerary and all other supporting docs.) but I was still denied. 🙁

Traveling in the Philippines takes time because all islands are divided by the ocean. Experiencing the entire country in 3 weeks is impossible. However, this 3-week route takes you along some of the country’s highlights. This Philippines Travel Guide includes extra time meant as travel time.

Wifi and SIM Cards in the Philippines

Wifi is something you cannot relate to in the Philippines. It is unstable, and if they offer it, it’s usually not fast. We always recommend getting a SIM card to use Google Maps or make phone calls in emergencies. It is best to get a GLOBE or SMART SIM card (9GB for 1000 PHP) and top it up once you’re out of data.

How to get around the Philippines?

Transportation in the Philippines is well-arranged and affordable but time-consuming. Travel overland by taxi, tricycles, jeepneys, buses, and minivans and go from island to island by boat or airplane.

philippines travel guide transport

Flights Flights go as often as buses in the Philippines to cross to another island. Flight delays are common, so it is recommended never to book too tight with connecting flights or activities.

Boats and buses Ferries to cross to a different island are very common. Taking an overnight ferry can reduce costs on your travel budget. Booking boats and long bus rides in advance is common.

Book your tickets online in advance

philippines travel guide airplane

Tricycle To cover short distances, a tricycle is very convenient. The vehicle is kind of a 3-wheeled tuk-tuk. You have to bargain with this kind of transport. Our rule of thumb was 100 PHP for 2 persons, including luggage for a 10-minute drive.

Motorbike In the main tourist areas (not cities), we recommend renting a motorbike and driving around by yourself. The price for tourists is about 400 – 600 PHP (±9 USD) per day, depending on the season.

Best Time to Visit the Philippines

From December to April, during the dry season, is the best time to visit the Philippines. Where March to May are the busiest and most expensive months. It is best to avoid traveling there from July to October when the typhoon season is active.

Always do your research per location. For example, El Nido and Siargao have two completely different seasons at the same time of the year.

Is the Philippines safe to travel?

Through media, the Philippines is commonly illustrated as unsafe and a no-go destination. However, that’s not true. The deep southern tip (Mindanao area) of the Philippines is the only no-go area due to possible terrorism. The rest of the Philippines is safe.

It breaks our hearts to hear that people don’t visit the Philippines because of these stories. Why? The Filipino people are some of the friendliest in Southeast Asia. Although Tagalog is their first language, everyone understands and speaks English, which makes it even easier.

It is recommended to only pack in a backpack? We are planning a trip to the Philippines , leave this week. My husband is thinking that us two plus our 10 year old son need to pack in 1 backpack so when we rent a motorbike that we can just have that for luggage and make it easy getting around.

Hi Ashley, we typically travel with a big bag each. There are many taxis, tricycles, jeepneys, buses, and minivans that can transport you and your luggage to your accommodation, then hire a motorbike once you’ve dropped your bags off. Have an amazing trip! :)
