11 Unique Safari Experiences Around the World

The jungles of Borneo are home to thousands of species of plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.

An African safari is one of the greatest trips of all time. But for those for whom the continent is a bit out of reach, those who have exhausted its many thrilling destinations, or those simply seeking something unusual, there is life beyond Africa—literally. When it comes to exotic wildlife viewing, the world’s your oyster. “The nice thing about searching the world for rare or interesting species is they tend to live in wonderful, remote, scenic areas where the wildlife feel at home, so we are strangers in their vast backyard,” says John Spence, president of luxury experiential tour operator Scott Dunn USA (which sends clients on bespoke trips to places including Sri Lanka and Peru ). “The scenery is often as wonderful as seeing whatever [animal] you are looking for.”

The Africa expert has had outstanding adventures in other parts of the planet, like on an Amazon basin river cruise in Peru where he glimpsed an elusive jaguar as it came to the water’s edge to drink. On his current wish list: seeing snow leopards in India. From the Middle East and Asia to the Americas and Australia , there are unique species to be tracked down, observed, and photographed. Here, 11 opportunities to safari beyond Africa.

This rugged Asian island is incredibly biodiverse. Thick jungles and wild rivers are alive with an array of wildlife, such as proboscis and silvered leaf monkeys, wild boar, and macaques in Bako National Park to rescued orangutans in Sandakan (both figure into a GeoEx tour itinerary; Borneo Adventure takes small groups into the jungle to find orangutans).

The most exotic and exciting animal spotting may be the vulnerable clouded leopard, which lives alongside gibbons and mouse deer in the dense Danum Valley. To spot the island’s rarest species, embark on an expedition with Natural World Safaris . The wildlife safari specialists take travelers on a conservation-focused adventure into the heart of Borneo’s untouched wilderness during a five-day trekking safari led by expert staff and local wildlife researchers.

2. Sumatra, Indonesia

Comical orangutans—aka “man of the forest” in Indonesian—are the main event on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where wild specimens have been observed using natural elements as tools. Bukit Lawang outfitters Trek Sumatra and Sumatra EcoTravel provide up-close-and-personal experiences with the primates, which are rarer than Borneo’s species and critically endangered.

Orangutans only live in the rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia.

3. Sri Lanka

It’s petite compared to India, but Sri Lanka is an island bursting with amazing life. Chief among them: leopards, which live primarily in Yala National Park . Staying at luxury safari “camps” like Chena Huts (their naturalist guide Harry is a dynamo at finding the elusive creatures) and Cinnamon Wild is one way to experience its wonders, which also include tiny-eared Asian elephants, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. Zegrahm’s “Natural Wonders” tour includes Sinharaja, which is home to half of Sri Lanka’s endemic wildlife.

A visit to Ranthambore National Park is non-negotiable for big cat lovers: It has a growing population of the ever-alluring Bengal tigers. (Crocs, leopards, sloth bears, and langur monkeys are also known inhabitants, amid runs and lakes.) GeoEx also offers a trip incorporating the UNESCO-listed Kaziranga National Park in Assam, which boasts not only the world’s highest density of Bengals but also spectacles like wild Asiatic water buffalo, Ganges river dolphins, and two-thirds of the world’s one-horned rhinoceroses.

5. Calauit Island, Philippines

Many of the majestic creatures you imagine—or have seen—in Africa are in fact wandering around in full view on a small island in the Philippines. Weird, yes. But true.

Thanks to a quirky call by a former president in the ’70s, giraffes, zebras, and several types of antelopes were brought by boat to live and roam—among native Calamian deer—in the 9,000-acre Calauit Safari Park on an island near Palawan, known as one of the world’s most beautiful isles. Nearby hotels can help make arrangements for the journey.

6. Mauritius

The Indian Ocean island of Mauritius has wonders both on land and underwater. At Casela Nature Park , visitors can take a walk with lions (it’s important to note they are not drugged). Meanwhile, Blue Safari takes guests in an intimate submarine—a different sort of safari vehicle—to view wildly exotic fish (think zebra fish, eels), corals, dolphins, and a shipwreck some 115 feet deep.

7. Dubai, U.A.E.

No, camels aren’t the only animal in Dubai’s desert—the stark expanse features hearty creatures that have managed to survive harsh conditions, including Arabian gazelles, lizards, and Arabian red foxes. The dramatically straight-horned native oryx can also be found, along with falcons. Platinum Heritage’s variety of luxury safari tours include transportation in a vintage Land Rover, falconry shows, and a visit to a lakeside bird sanctuary, among other offerings.

Some places—like Broome, Australia—are best explored by camel.

Some places—like Broome, Australia—are best explored by camel.

8. Australia

Australia is a massive country with many tempting draws—one of which is an outback adventure starring giant crocodiles and native birds. You can have this experience on a cruise through Geikie Gorge on Intrepid Travel’s wildlife tour of the Kimberley region (finishing with a sunset camel ride in Broome). In other parts of the country (in Victoria, for one), Aussie favorites koalas and kangaroos hang out in the wild, the latter in droves around the One&Only Wolgan Valley in the Blue Mountains.

9. Amazon, Peru

It’s hard to imagine an animal that sounds more fantastical than a pink dolphin, but they are in fact real—in the Amazon, which Delfin adeptly cruises in a luxury craft. These trips traverse the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve , a vast protected flooded forest with extensive biodiversity. Night safaris reveal black caimans, bats and frogs, while daytime is when you can birdwatch, pet baby manatees, and actually hop into the water and swim near those magically colored dolphins.

South America is a very different world from much of Africa—instead of savannas and bush there are tropical forest and jungle where rare and lesser-known creatures thrive. Land-based safaris into these barely trafficked regions (on trips by outfitters Zegrahm and Pantanal Jaguar Safaris ) may include sightings of caimans, Brazilian tapirs, maned wolves, capybaras, marmosets, giant river otters, masked titi monkeys, and, of course, the elusive jaguar, whose rosette patterned fur differs from a leopard’s because of spots in the center.

It doesn’t get much more wild than Alaska , where not only is the raw natural beauty worth experiencing, but there are also animals aplenty. Grizzlies, moose, caribou, horned Dall sheep, wolves, and bald eagles are some of the species Zegrahm’s national parks tour searches for, along with aquatic animals like sea lions, walrus, sea otters, and coastal brown bears (they forage on tidal flats in Katmai National Park ). GeoEx creates choose-your-own-adventure itineraries that might include standup paddleboarding or kayaking to see whales.

Why Tanzania?

Tanzania has been recognized as the home to the #1 national park in the world - Serengeti National Park. In addition, Tanzania is also recognized as unique among African nations in its tolerance for tribal, religious and racial differences.

You will be immediately impressed with the hospitality, warmth and interest the Tanzanian people display towards you while on your safari. One client expressed “Tanzania is the one third-world country I would visit over and over again. It was truly the friendliest place I have ever visited.”

Reviews From Visitors

Bucket List. The friend I traveled with on this adventure has been my friend for 55 years. This was her number 1 item on her bucket list. When I told her I would go.....she started planning. Within 15 or so months......we were off. And I couldn't be happier.

The camps we stayed at were all top notch. The food was great and very abundant (even the breakfast and lunches we ate on the road). I don't eat that well at home. The pancakes at Sametu were the best I have ever eaten.

We couldn't have done this without the help of Lynn's planning expertise. She helped us every step of the way. Giving tips and making sure that we stayed on task. I feel like I have made a friend. She was fantastic. Our safari was specifically planned for us. We decided what we wanted to see and Lynn helped us plan this perfect trip.

When Joseph and Ester came to go over the trip with us in Arusha, I knew it was going to be wonderful. They explained everything that would happen at each camp so there would be no surprised. And Joseph met us at the end and made sure that we had gotten through to the gate at the airport. Unique Safari was with us from the first minute in Arusha to the last. This was very comforting. I am a person who likes to plan ahead and have everything ready. I never had to worry about anything....they did it for me.

Now to talk about our guide FAZAL. Words cannot express what an adventure he gave us. He asked what we wanted each day, and our response was always "You're the expert you tell us". And we are so happy we did. I can tell you that we saw some amazing things. Actually every night, I asked him how he was going to top that tomorrow. My advice to anyone planning a safari would be to trust the people who are the experts. Fazal taught us not to rush through any experience. Sometime you have to wait to see the best part of an animal.

I was very excited to go on this Safari but it was 100% more than I expected, The saddest part of this trip was when we said good bye to Fazal at the airport. There were definitely tears.

Unique Safari is the complete package HANDS DOWN!!

This trip was postponed due to, well you know. It was well worth the wait. Unique Safaris was top notch and the Guides, Russell, Shedrack and Fazal were knowledgeable, funny and willing to help us get the best experience and the best photos every day. They even helped me learn firsthand about some of the local flora (don't step on these). Our camps and their staffs were excellent and the people of Tanzania were friendly and helpful. You will not be disappointed using Unique for your safari needs also they are a locally owned company so you will help support their economy and businesses.

Traveling the world in a pandemic can be tricky but Meg K. of Unique Safaris did a wonderful job helping us in our safari travel to Tanzania. She kept us up to date on all of the requirements and gave us links to the forms that were needed. She arranged for our covid test prior to leaving Tanzania. She got us a service that whisked us through covid testing, immigration, and customs at the airport. On Safari, all of the camp staff not only went out of the way to make us comfortable but were very conscientious about all of the covid requirements. The highest praise has to go to our guide, Ellison. He got us into position for many a great photograph and didn’t complain when we asked him to move a foot or two so that we got a cleaner image. He was very knowledgeable about where the animals could be found, so we were treated to baby hippos, lion cub, leopard cubs, cheetah cubs, and a myriad of young antelope and zebra. The Mara River crossings were more spectacular than the Great Migration that we saw when we went to Tanzania March 2020. Photographically it was the best photo tour we had ever been on, totally Unique.

Absolutely the best vacation we have ever taken!!!!!! Lynn is what makes this trip so incredible! Her attention to every detail in planning the experience you want, her communication with you is impeccable! I truly cannot thank her enough! Once we arrived - all the planning Lynn mapped out for us, just played out more amazing then we could of ever imagined. Our guide, Russell was outstanding! He was kind, considerate, and so knowledgeable about every single question we asked him. And we asked a lot of questions!!! He really knew the area, animals, and the culture, etc. All the tented camps, food, transfers, and every detail is taken care of by Lynn. We simply showed up and had the most amazing trip of our lives!!! We are already planning a return very soon, Lynn and Unique Safari will be helping us again!!!

I am a US based photo safari workshop leader and to say Unique Safaris provided me and my clients the ultimate luxury safari experience would be an understatement!!! Top that with highly knowledgeable safari guides and it makes for an unforgettable experience. Meg helped me choose my camps based on my needs and boy were they a home run. I couldn't say more about how friendly and accommodating the staff was at each location during the two weeks. Absolutely top service from top to bottom with the Tanzanian staff, guides. and people as a whole absolutely warm and inviting. Looking forward to my return in 2022 and beyond!

If you are considering going on that "once in a lifetime" trip to Tanzania, do yourself a favor and use Unique Safaris. I travel a LOT and Unique is a company that can be trusted and they will make sure your trip is fabulous. I just returned from a 2 week safari and I can't say enough good things about the drivers and camp staff. There were 11 of us on this trip and everyone had a great experience. The tears and hugs when we left our drivers at the airport to go home said it all.

I wanted to take my daughter on safari as her graduation gift, but also wanted a strong focus on the photographic element as a photographer. Yes, I shopped other safari companies too. Lynn at Unique safaris did an amazing job of putting together a custom trip which included cultural activities, balloon rides, and the best game viewing opportunities ever. I made the right choice and am so grateful I did. The staff in Arusha matched us with a guide based on all the info we had provided. Bernard proved to the best guide we could have asked for. He took his job and professional responsibilities very seriously, and yet was able to join in the fun, banter and laughs. The lodging chosen was superb and the food unbelievable good; both roast duck and lamb on New Year's Eve-and we were hours out in the bush. The attention to detail from Lynn in trip preparation, availability and quick response to questions as well as the follow-through on those promises by the Arusha staff make this unquestionable the safari company of choice.

My wife and I just returned from our safari in the Serengeti with Unique Safaris. Ally, our guide, was fantastic in locating animals and birds during our trip. He was able to drive to locations that other guides would NOT attempt due to it being the wet season and some of the roads (basically dirt tracks through the Serengeti) were covered with water and had terrible holes that you could not see until you hit them. The difference with Unique is they use Mud Terrain tires not All Terrain tires like the other safari companies. Other companies stay on the main roads so you see the animals 100 yards away with 15 vehicles parked on the road while we were able to go to more isolated areas and get up close to the animals. Up close being lunch with a large price of lions and 5 lion brothers s walking by our vehicle and hitting it with their tails. We were able to see everything that we had on our wish list as well as gain a better appreciation for the birds in the Serengeti.

We stayed in tents while we were there so the animals were VERY close. The animals can get noisy at night so be prepared to wake up occasionally. One morning we woke up to the sounds of 8 lions taking down a wildebeest about 50 yards from our tent. Our guide had to pick us up for breakfast that morning in our vehicle since the lions were so close. When you stay in the tents you will need someone from the camp to walk with you when it is dark. Also as a treat Ally arranged for us to meet with a Project Cheetah expert researcher who gave us a much better insight into the amazing animal.

I usually do not write reviews but the difference in companies is significant. If you want to see a few animals with the crowds then Unique is not for you. If you do not mind getting bounced around in the vehicle to get to isolated areas and truly experience the Serengeti then Unique is your best option.

Meg did a good job working with us to get within our budget. I would recommend working with her to get within your budget rather than settling for a less expensive nondescript safari.

This was truly an exceptional once in a lifetime experience and Unique Safaris made all the difference. We also met the owner while on safari, and Ali was engaging and made us feel very welcome.

What makes a safari in Kenya special?

Diversity. Kenya has several national parks and reserves, each with something unique to offer, from the Maasai Mara  (the site of The Great Migration ), to Amboseli National Park and Ol Pejeta Conservancy , Kenya's wilderness areas are some of East Africa's most beautiful and important.

You don't have to stick to a game drive either. Head for the skies via hot air balloon , or head out on foot or horseback.

There are 23 national parks and several conservancies to explore. Kenya has a fantastic domestic flight network that makes it easy to combine several national parks or conservancies, and you can even head to the coast for a beach holiday to close out your adventure.

Great Migration Maasai Mara National Park

Which safari is right for me?

For the bucket lister.

The Maasai Mara is one of Africa's most incredible safari destinations, and one of Africa's most famous. The Mara River is a dramatic stop along the Great Migration route. The park has outstanding wildlife densities , including the Big Five , and there are several ways to explore the park, including hot air balloon, on foot and on horseback.

There is no shortage of accommodation choices for those wishing to have the ultimate safari experience, from luxury lodges to simple camps.

For the conservationist

Kenya is a great example of how conservation and environmentalism can work hand-in-hand with tourism. Ol Pejeta and Lewa Conservancy  have played vital roles in protecting endangered species.

Many safari camps and lodges are becoming increasingly eco-friendly, with initiatives to stay local, reduce waste, and use renewable energies. Tortilis Camp, in Amboseli National Park, is the largest eco-lodge in Kenya.

For those short on time

With a great domestic flight network and national parks situated relatively close to Nairobi, there are plenty of options if you're strapped for time.

Nairobi National Park, located just 7 km outside of Nairobi, close to Jomo Kenyatta International  Airport, is home to four out of the Big Five. Visitors can spot lions, leopards, rhino, and buffalo without venturing too far from the capital city. This is a great option if you want to squeeze in one last mini safari before flying out.

Against the looming backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro ,  Amboseli National Park, often referred to as 'land of the giants' due to its thriving elephant population, is another fantastic choice.

For the beach enthusiast

While Kenya is best known for its epic safaris, it is also home to some of the world's best beaches. If your travels take you to Tsavo East or Tsavo West , (halfway between Nairobi and the Coast), you needn't choose between the two.

For the great outdoors lover

Fly camp in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy , or sleep on beds that wheel out onto a private veranda under the night sky in Loisaba Conservancy

Walking safaris and horseback riding is available in many of the country's reserves.

Types of Safari in Kenya

Game drives.

Driving an open-top Land cruiser through savannah plains, game drives are the quintessential safari experience .

A lot of game drives in Kenya take place in the early morning, typically starting at 5-6 am.

Wildlife is often more easily found at this time of the day thanks to the cooler temperatures, and the sunrise provides the perfect backdrop for cruising around the national parks.

Safaris in Kenya

Walking Safaris

Walking safaris are only possible in certain conservancies in Kenya (and not allowed in the national parks).

Certain game sanctuaries and wild areas offer walking safaris, for example Lake Naivasha where you can walk amongst the local giraffes, zebras and more at Crescent Island.

Ol Pejete Bush Camp, Kenya

Curious wildebeest, Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Safaris by Air

Take to the skies for a bird's eye views of the landscapes and animals in the national parks.

Air safaris provide access to all areas of the national parks, which often means more wildlife sightings as you are not limited by the ground access routes.

Of course, air safaris are more expensive than traditional game drives , but can be well worth it if you want to see as much of wildlife in the parks as possible, not to mention the unmatched views.

Safaris in Kenya

Safaris on Horseback

Horseback safaris are possible at certain conservancies and parks, but most famously in the Maasai Mara .

If you have previous horse riding experience , you can ride amongst giraffes, elephants, zebras and wildebeest on horseback.

Horse riding can either be done as a half-day/day excursion, or over the course of a few days from a mobile luxury tented camp.

Best time to go on safari in Kenya

The best time to go on safari in Kenya is from June to October , or December to January.

The months of June to October guarantee the best weather and the greatest chance of wildlife sightings , but the lodges will be busier and rates higher as this is peak season.

Weather from December through to January is great, and there will be fewer visitor numbers at this time of year.

Outside these months, wildlife is less visible due to migration patterns, and there is a good chance of overcast skies and rains.

Lion Cub in Maasai Mara

What wildlife will I see on safari in Kenya?

Kenya has immense diversity in wildlife .

All the Big Five: lion , leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo can be found, along with giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a wide variety of bird species.

It's important to set your expectations - just because all of these animals can be found in Kenya, doesn't mean that you will see all of them. The national parks are big, and much of the time on a game drive is spent looking for the animals.

To some extent, the best safari experiences come down to being in the right place at the right time.

The Book Report: Washington Post critic Ron Charles (April 28)

Here are four new books to check out this spring.

In 2016, the world fell in love with an immensely charming novel by Amor Towles, called "A Gentleman in Moscow." And now, with the adaptation starring Ewan McGregor streaming on Showtime, anticipation is running high for Towles' next book.

Step this way: "Table for Two" is an irresistible collection of short stories and a novella split between New York and Los Angeles. Flavored with wit, intrigue, and a dash of bitter fate, "Table for Two" demonstrates that Towles is just as masterful at preparing a full literary meal as he is a tart little dessert.

Leif Enger's debut novel, "Peace Like a River" was released more than 20 years ago, but I've never forgotten its buoyant optimism. Well, things are heating up in Enger's dystopian new novel,  "I Cheerfully Refuse."

It's about a man on Lake Superior who's happy and hopeful, even though the government and the climate are wrecked. When violence hits home, though, he's forced to flee, sailing around the Great Lake looking for a place to dock in a world that's burning up and going mad. How he manages to do that is just one of several miracles in this strange, alluring novel.

So far, American readers have not paid enough attention to Sunjeev Sahota, but in England he's been nominate for the Booker Prize twice.

His brilliant new novel, "The Spoiled Heart," is about an ambitious, well-liked man named Nayan who's running to be the leader of his labor union. He's widely expected to win the election, but then a young woman announces her candidacy, and devastating secrets from Nayan's past begin to arise and cracks appear in his campaign – until he finds himself at odds with the culture he once championed.

Judi Dench, master of film, TV and stage, has been bringing Shakespeare's plays alive for more than 60 years.

And now, at the age of 89, Dench steals the show again with a delightful new memoir, called "Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent."

Compiled from conversations with her friend, the actor Brendan O'Hea, this is a treasure trove of wit and wisdom about a unique relationship between an incomparable actress and the immortal playwright who still sets her heart ablaze.

Russia establishes special site to fabricate fuel for China’s CFR-600

!{Model.Description}

A special production site to fabricate fuel for China’s CFR-600 fast reactor under construction has been established at Russia’s Mashinostroitelny Zavod (MSZ - Machine-Building Plant) in Elektrostal (Moscow region), part of Rosatom’s TVEL Fuel Company.

As part of the project, MSZ had upgraded existing facilities fo the production of fuel for fast reactors, TVEL said on 3 March. Unique equipment has been created and installed, and dummy CFR-600 fuel assemblies have already been manufactured for testing.

The new production site was set up to service an export contract between TVEL and the Chinese company CNLY (part of China National Nuclear Corporation - CNNC) for the supply of uranium fuel for CFR-600 reactors. Construction of the first CFR-600 unit started in Xiapu County, in China's Fujian province in late 2017 followed by the second unit in December 2020. The contract is for the start-up fuel load, as well as refuelling for the first seven years. The start of deliveries is scheduled for 2023.

“The Russian nuclear industry has a unique 40 years of experience in operating fast reactors, as well as in the production of fuel for such facilities,” said TVEL President Natalya Nikipelova. “The Fuel Division of Rosatom is fulfilling its obligations within the framework of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the development of fast reactor technologies. These are unique projects when foreign design fuel is produced in Russia. Since 2010, the first Chinese fast neutron reactor CEFR has been operating on fuel manufactured at the Machine-Building Plant, and for the supply of CFR-600 fuel, a team of specialists from MSZ and TVEL has successfully completed a complex high-tech project to modernise production,” she explained.

A special feature of the new section is its versatility: this equipment will be used to produce fuel intended for both the Chinese CFR-600 and CEFR reactors and the Russian BN-600 reactor of the Beloyarsk NPP. In the near future, the production of standard products for the BN-600 will begin.

The contract for the supply of fuel for the CFR-600 was signed in December 2018 as part of a governmental agreement between Russia and China on cooperation in the construction and operation of a demonstration fast neutron reactor in China. This is part of a wider comprehensive programme of cooperation in the nuclear energy sector over the coming decades. This includes serial construction of the latest Russian NPP power units with generation 3+ VVER-1200 reactors at two sites in China (Tianwan and Xudabao NPPs). A package of intergovernmental documents and framework contracts for these projects was signed in 2018 during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

At 8:00am you will be picked up from your Arusha hotel and heading out to your first Tanzania national park the beautiful Tarangire, often a favorite park among guides due to its size and remoteness, particularly in the southern section.

The park is known for the large numbers of elephant that congregate here. There are substantial populations of wildebeest, zebra, impala, giraffe, eland and buffalo as well, and even a few localized and unusual species including the gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. The primary landscape is dry, open woodland scattered with hundreds of Africa’s prehistoric ‘Trees of Life’, the baobab tree.

You’ll explore the park in your private vehicle, stopping for a picnic lunch during your game drive, and eventually head to your camp for the evening.

Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning you drive from Karatu to the Ngorongoro. Upon arrival at Ngorongoro, you will start descending into the crater. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the area and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colours of the landscapes and the diversity of animals.

The crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is choked with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.

There is a range of activities to do in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, like visiting a Maasai village.  You can spend up to six hours in the crater before heading back to your reserved accommodation

Day 3 Serengeti National Park

Your drive from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti will wind you through wide green hills and across flat lowlands. The land stretches to the horizon in all directions, interrupted only by small dusty towns and earthy round Maasai huts. Once you’ve crossed into the Serengeti, you’ll be on a game drive as you make your way toward camp.

The southern section of the park is covered with flat or gently rolling grasslands and occasionally dotted with rock kopjes, home to good populations of resident game. Big cats love to have a good vantage point and the kopjes provide that. Massive herds of wildebeest call this southern section home when they’re birthing before moving farther north. The Serengeti is home to a variety of landscapes, and what’s around you will depend on where you’re staying in the park.

Day 4 Full Day Serengeti National Park

Today you will continue your African safari experience to one of the country’s biggest draws: the Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that call the Serengeti home are unsurpassed. The Wildebeest Migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti.

Together with your private guide, you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals, you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you go on a balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.
