Very very Worst experience ever

No rating The driver's name is Essaki Coimbatore to Sivakasi. Very very Worst experience ever. They don’t know how to interact with a passenger they are showing rude behavior. Driver smoking in front of the passengers while driving using bad words not mentioned timing also. The driver behaved wrongly we called to A1 travel office continuously no one picked up the call. Driver said where ever u call no problem to me. The cleaner was not there on the bus. No one doesn't choose the A1 travel buses.

Verified frauds

If I could give no stars at all, I would. I've been travelling for 7 years now and A1 Travels is the worst. Not at all reliable, worst customer service, worst vehicle maintainance etc... I would gladly choose a local bus with no cushions over A1 Travels any day! Very unreasonable when comes to refunds and other formalities! Fraud!!

Booked ticket for an emergency on…

Booked ticket for an emergency on Monday April 15th at 1 pm, called in at 3.30 pm (bus departure at 6.15 pm) to cancel or reschedule my ticket for rs. 1200/- to Thursday 18th or any other day. No help. Customer service rep kept reading out cancellation policy. Cannot a travel agency at the least check other trips for later days? Like a robot customer service kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Then got email from travels stating "We have resolved your concern..." Extremely disappointed.

Never Ever Book, Not Recommend 2hr ​late arrival,11.30 for dinner, where nothing was available at hotel except Parota, which is not digestible while traveling. Driver:-Vry rude, nt co operated for old age lady seat exchange by driver.Driver refused to exchange his bed stating can't help, to sleep on top bed where we got booked.As we did not get lower bed,we had booked. Worst travel ever

Worst travel ever. I had a trip from pondicherry to Coimbatore in their bus. The staff are very unfriendly. They humiliate the passengers especially when it's a couple even if married. The booking interface is scratchy. The single berth seats are too thin to accomodate a person. I highly recommend not using this and recommend other travel agencies.

Booked a week in Tenerife

Booked a week in Tenerife, paid, then received an email cancelling the holiday because the wrong address for the debit card to book the trip was used. phoned immediately and rectified that error, then asked, you do have a UK passport don't you, : No, using an Australian passport:: sorry, but can only arrange holidays for people with UK passports as the ATOL insurance will only cover UK residents: ?? What, !! rubbish, Incompetent,: Queen of England is head of state; Commonwealth of ?? Other companies can provide, but did not ask for this cover? Have our own and did not ask for ! A1 Travel NEVER AGAIN, YOU are NOT Competent.

Salesperson and supervisor made promises that verification department denied. When I tried to cancel, which I was told would be no problem, I was transferred to Head of Sales, who abused me, and I was threatened he would charge my card anyway. Great company to avoid!

booked us in to a coakroach infested accomodation and did nothing to help us move. Amy at aftersales speaks over you and is extremely rude and un helpful! When you ask to speak to management they are just rude. Would never recommend anyone to book with them!

Exceptional service and hassle free.

I've booked 5 holidays now with A1 Travel and the service has been utterly flawless. We travel often and were encountering web site after web site offering cheap deals that, when one tried to book them, seemed to evaporate. Not so with A1 Travel. Direct and transparent booking online with friendly and helpful staff athe end of the phone all add up to a positive experience which I have recommended to others. I wouldn't use by one else.

A1 closure is leading to big delays

A serious car crash has shut a major Yorkshire motorway in both directions, with drivers trapped in their cars overnight as emergency services work at the scene.

The A1(M) has been shut heading south between junction 48 for the A6055 at Boroughbridge to junction 47 for the A59 at Allerton Park.

The crash happened at 2.30am and initially saw both sides of the carriageway shut. Since then, Northbound has been reopened but lane three remains closed.

North Yorkshire Police are currently carrying out accident investigation work, meaning closures remain in place. A diversion route via the A168 running parallel to the A1(M) is in place but big delays are inevitable.

Our traffic management partner Inrix states: "A1(M) Southbound closed, long delays due to accident investigation work between J48 A6055 ( Boroughbridge ) and J47 A59 ( Allerton Park).

The A1(M) is now fully re-open between J48 (Boroughbridge) and J47 (Allerton Park). All lane closures have been removed.

A 31-year-old lorry driver sadly died at the scene of the crash after his vehicle collided with an overhead bridge.

60 minute delays for drivers

A spokesperson for National Highways Yorkshire has said that drivers are continuing to experience delys of "at least 60 minutes" on the A1(M) near Boroughbridge.

The delays come after the road was closed in the early hours of Wednesday morning following a fatal collision.

The A1(M) has now re-opened in the southbound direction between J48 (Boroughbridge) and J47 at Allerton Park. One lane remains closed in both directions while emergency repairs take place.

Rush hour queues build as A1 remains shut

One lane of the A1(M) remains closed - almost 15 hours after the stretch of motorway was first shut.

The A1(M) was closed between junction 48 at Boroughbridge and junction 47 at Allerton Park following a fatal collision which occured at around 2.10am this morning.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man, sadly died at the scene.

Initially, both sides of the carriageway were shut. Since then, the Northbound direction has been reopened but lane three remains closed, while the southbound carriageway remains completely closed.

Police appeal after lorry driver killed

Police are appealing for information after a lorry driver was killed in a crash on the A1(M) in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 2.10am on the southbound carriageway of the A1 between junction 48 (Boroughbridge) and junction 47 (Allerton Park).

A HGV lorry collided with an overhead bridge near to the Allerton Waste Recovery site. Tragically, the driver of the HGV, a 31-year-old man, died at the scene, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police has said.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police added: “We’re now urging anyone who saw the collision or the HGV involved in the collision prior to it that has not already made contact to get in touch. Our officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have any relevant dashcam footage.

“Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 and speak to the Force Control Room. Please quote reference number 12240071188 when passing information.”

Boroughbridge gridlocked as A1 crash continues to cause delays

A mum who was stuck on the A1(M) for seven hours following a crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning has finally made it off the motorway.

A video sent to Yorkshire Live by Laura Jayne Hodgson shows vehicles queueing from bumper to bumper in Boroughbridge as drivers attempt to avoid the closure.

The mum has described Boroughbridge as completely "gridlocked".

'We are finally off the motorway - it's taken us 7 hours'

A mum who was trapped in her car with her children for seven hours has finally made it off the A1.

Laura Jayne Hodgson told Yorkshire Live: “We are finally off the motorway, its taken us 7 hours! We are now going through boroughbridge it's grid locked.”

'We haven’t eaten or been to the toilet in four hours'

A mum who has been trapped in her car with her two children for over four hours says they are trying to remain patient whilst the emergency services carry out their investigation. Laura Jayne Hodgson told Yorkshire Live: "We have been in the car since 8am with no use of toilet facilities and haven’t eaten or drank. " We are being patient at this time so emergency services can deal with the incident further up. But more notice such as Thirsk would have being ideal so I could come off and go in a different way.

"It wasn’t until we were approaching the slip road for dishforth that it said 'likely queuing 40', I feel there should have being more warning."

Mum on the school run trapped in A1 crash chaos for FOUR hours

Drivers have been stuck in hours of standstill traffic since this morning on the A1 after a serious car crash shut the major Yorkshire motorway in both directions.

One motorist, Laura Jayne Hodgson, told Yorkshire Live: "I travel from Northallerton to Boroughbridge for the children’s school and my work. "I was in the fast lane and traffic was slowing at topcliffe turn off, by the time got to dishforth slip road the cars were at a stand still bumper to bumper. "I couldn’t get over so had no choice to join the A1, I've been here since 8.20am. I don’t think we will be making it to school or work."

'Horrendous standstill traffic'

One motorist who has been stuck on the A1 for over three hours told Yorkshire Live: "At 8:30 I travelled from topcliff after dropping my children at school, prior to joining A1M to leeds I saw 40 flashing and electronic signs saying expect queueing. "There were no diversions in place as suggested on NYP website so I continued and hit horrendous standstill traffic. "I've been stuck in it since 8:30 and just exited junction 48 at 11:30am. This is where the road is closed from. "So many people were unnecessarily joining the A1 and compounding the problem. The police need to close that slip road and divert people down the A168."

Police issue statement

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We're currently dealing with a serious crash which occurred at approximately 2.12am this morning on the southbound carriageway of the A1.

“The southbound carriageway of the A1(M) is currently closed between junction 48 (Boroughbridge) and junction 47 (Allerton Park) and is expected to be for some time.

“The northbound carriageway was also closed for some time but it is now open again. There is a diversion along the A168 which runs adjacent to the A1(M).”

A1 Executive Travel Group has a long history starting in the 1970’s in Garston. It was originally A1 Taxis and changed hands in 2013 when the new owners brought it into the 21st century by introducing a state of the art despatch system to make bookings more efficient.

The fleet was expanded with more executive vehicles. Drivers’ dress code was changed so that they were required to wear smart trousers and shirts and shoes setting a higher standard. In 2016 the company changed hands again and became A1 Executive Travel Group Ltd. This saw the merger with their office at Berkhamsted station and new offices in Rickmansworth, Hemel Hempstead and Uxbridge. This created a large operating area with drivers licensed to cover all areas. 

The state of the art despatch system was expanded to incorporate all the new areas and provide a highly efficient service for all of our customers enabling passengers to be transferred quickly and professionally in comfort and style.

The company is run by experienced controllers 24/7 with at least two operators and telephonists at all times. The drivers are all fully licensed and have varying degrees of experience with some having been driving for over 30 years. To make things even more convenient all of our vehicles have credit card terminals on board and receipts available.

Adult (16+) and Children (3-15)

Children under 14 cannot travel alone unless accompanied by an adult (16+). Please note, you may be required to show proof of age at any point during your journey. Failure to do so, may result in the full adult fare being charged.

We strongly recommend that you bring a car seat appropriate to your child's age, but ask you to take responsibility to fit the seat.

Booster Seats

Children aged between approximately 4-11 years old, or up to 150cm tall, may use booster seats. We carry a limited number onboard most coaches.

If travelling with a child, you may be required to show proof of age when buying tickets or at any point during your journey. Failure to do so may result in the child being required to pay the full fare for the journey on that day.

Young persons (13 - 25)

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to travel on any European service unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Young persons aged 16 or 17 years can travel alone on European services but only if they have a letter of authority from a parent or guardian.

Senior (60 and over)

Passengers aged 60 and over are entitled to receive a small discount on European journeys. On European journeys a 50% discount is given to carers, please call us on 08717 818177 to book.

We have three different Coachcards available, each offering savings of 1/3 on all of our Standard and Fully Flexible coach fares all year round.

Prices shown include your coachcard discount, your coachcard number will be required during the booking process.
