Beyoncé may not be coming to Ohio, but here are the closest places to catch the 'Renaissance' tour

It's a bit of a bummer for Ohio Beyhive members.

Beyoncé announced dates for her highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour on tour.beyonce.com on Wednesday, and Ohio isn't on the initial list. However, you catch the superstar a few hours away at the following places:

• Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA, on July 12
• Cardinal Stadium, Louisville, KY, on July 17
• Soldier Field, Chicago, IL, on July 22
• Ford Field, Detroit, MI, on July 26
• Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA, on Aug. 3

Tickets will go on sale "soon," according to the website.

Following the wildly successful release of BEYONCÉ’s seventh studio album,  RENAISSANCE , the global superstar has announced RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR  today, her first solo tour in over six years. The North American leg of the tour is leveraging Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan technology to ensure more tickets get into the hands of concertgoers. Fans can register now   HERE . Ticketing will begin Monday, February 6, 2023, starting with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members.

The 2023 tour, produced by Parkwood Entertainment, and promoted by Live Nation, kicks off on May 10, 2023, at Friends Arena in Stockholm, SE, making stops throughout Europe in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sunderland, Paris, London, Marseille, Amsterdam, Warsaw and more. The tour then continues across North America with shows in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston and more.

RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR  will also visit Brussels, Barcelona, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and more in Europe in May & June. Additional North American cities include Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City, Louisville, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tampa, Vancouver and more.

As with previous tours, Beyoncé will make her mark offstage, too, with BeyGOOD, the initiative she founded in 2013 to support people and programs around the world.  BeyGOOD will continue its legacy of philanthropy, building out this focus on economic equity by supporting organizations that serve marginalized and underserved communities with access to scholarships, opportunities for internships that lead to job placement, and resources to support entrepreneurship.

In various cities throughout the tour, BeyGOOD will support entrepreneurs through Black Parade Route luncheons, celebrating small business owners, with grant opportunities being awarded and a foray of services with global partners to promote business sustainability. One thousand small businesses will be supported with a commitment totaling one million dollars.

BeyGOOD will also support students through scholarship funds that will be given to colleges and universities in ten different cities along the tour. Each school will be given one hundred thousand dollars and will select the student recipients. BeyGOOD’s total scholarship commitment during RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR will be one million dollars.

Working with Beyoncé and the BeyGOOD Foundation, Citi and Verizon will purchase 100 tickets combined in each market across the U.S. touring leg for distribution to local community initiatives.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z announce dates for stadium tour, and Cleveland is the first North American stop

Queen B and her man are on the run again.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z announced the tour dates for their "On the Run II" stadium tour, and not only is Cleveland on the list, it's their first stop on the North American leg of the tour.

The tour starts with six weeks in the U.K. and Europe, and then it comes to FirstEnergy Stadium on July 25.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, March 19 on LiveNation.com . Citi card members will have access to pre-sale tickets. Beyhive members and TIDAL subscribers will also have access to pre-sale tickets on March 14 at 9 a.m.

In 2014, the couple had their first On the Run tour when they performed six weeks of sold-out stadium concerts.

Beyoncé ‘s Renaissance tour , a stadium-shaking dance party built around last year’s album of the same name , won’t begin its U.S. run until a July 12 show in Philadelphia, but thanks to TikTok and YouTube, stateside fans already have a decent sense of the show. It begins with Beyoncé essentially serving as her own opening act via a mini set of ballads before exploding into a show built around the Renaissance album, with songs from her previous albums worked in among the new hits (or in some cases, as with a taste of “Sweet Dreams” in “Alien Superstar,” during them).

Beyoncé Announces ‘Renaissance’ Stadium Tour Dates

As expected, Beyoncé has announced a 2023 world tour on Instagram, supporting her multiple-Grammy-nominated 2022 album, “Renaissance.” She also released the dates and cities on her official website.

The timing of the announcement, which comes just days before the Grammy Awards on Sunday, sparks speculation that the singer may perform or at least appear on the show. Beyoncé is the most nominated artist for the awards with nine, all related to “ Renaissance .” Sources tell Variety that her husband Jay-Z will perform with DJ Khaled on the show, most likely their nominated song “God Did.”

Beyoncé has said that “Renaissance” is a three-part project, so it’s possible that the next parts could be another album, a long-form video project or even the tour itself.

Beyoncé’s last full tour was the nearly six-month, 49-date “Formation” tour in 2016, which unusually featured no guest appearances until the final show, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where she brought out Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

She did, however, stage an epochal “Homecoming” headlining performance at the 2018 Coachella festival — which was postponed from 2017 due to the birth of her and Jay’s twins — for which she was accompanied by a full marching band in a nod to historically Black colleges and universities. That blockbuster performance was later released as the “Homecoming” album and — via a three-project deal with Netflix that sources tell Variety is worth $60 million — a feature-length documentary. It seems possible that a future “Renaissance” video project could be part of that deal as well.

B eyoncé’s fans have been waiting for this day: the pop megastar finally announced that she will embark on the long-awaited Renaissance World Tour. She uploaded a post to Instagram early Wednesday morning with the caption: “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR 2023,” and her official website has been updated to show the tour dates. The tour starts in May in Sweden and will hit Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland, before she makes her way to North America. The first date stateside will be in Philadelphia, Pa., in July and the tour will hit the major U.S. cities before wrapping up in New Orleans, La., on Sept. 27.

Following the release of her seventh album, Renaissance , in July, fans have been itching for a tour announcement, in addition to music videos to accompany the songs. Beyoncé’s last solo tour was the Formation World Tour back in 2016 to support her sixth album, Lemonade . Following that, she went on the On The Run Tour with her husband, Jay-Z, in 2018 after releasing their joint project, Everything Is Love . The announcement of a new tour just before the Grammy Awards on Sunday raises suspicion that Beyoncé might be performing or, at the very least, attending the night’s festivities.

The singer is nominated for nine Grammys at this year’s awards ceremony, which are set to take place on Feb. 5 in Los Angeles. This year, she is up against Adele for multiple awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. There has been speculation about whether or not Beyoncé would be performing ever since the nominations were announced. The last time fans saw her perform on a major televised stage was at last year’s Oscars ceremony, where she performed “Be Alive” from the King Richard movie for the first time.

Beyoncé most recently took the stage for a private concert at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal resort in Dubai in January. However, she did not perform any songs from Renaissance . Also, given that Beyoncé unveiled the album’s title on Instagram as “act [one],” her dedicated fanbase has been busy theorizing what acts two and three might be. Some have hypothesized that the tour would be act two and then a concert movie would be act three. Others have ventured to guess that this is a three-part album and that Renaissance was just the beginning.

Tickets for the concert will not be an easy get if Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is any indication. Beyoncé’s fans can click on the date they would like to attend to register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program and will then have to wait to see if they are given an access code to purchase tickets to the event. With Verified Fan and the “unexpected” traffic the pre-sale brought to the site, many Swifties likened the ticket-buying process to a warzone. The disastrous rollout drew ire from Swift’s fans and political officials alike. After the ticketing fiasco, the Senate held a hearing to look into whether Live Nation and Ticketmaster have a monopoly over the ticketing industry. This, coupled with the technical problems that Swift fans faced, have Beyoncé fans worrying that finding their way to an actual concert will be nothing short of an ordeal.

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour

Beyoncé has announced that she’s touring in support of her latest album, Renaissance . The tour begins with a European leg in May, followed by dates in Canada and the United States that extend from from early July through late September. It’s her first tour since her 2018 co-headlining On the Run II Tour with Jay-Z behind their collaborative album, Everything Is Love , and her first headlining tour since 2016’s Formation World Tour behind Lemonade . The Renaissance World Tour is produced by Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation. See all of the dates below.

Renaissance arrived July 29, rising swiftly to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marking Beyoncé’s seventh album to summit the albums chart. It is the first act in what will be a three-part series, she has indicated.

Beyoncé hinted at her world tour in late October, during the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala, where the raffle included “ a UNIQUE experience ” to see her on the Renaissance tour. Purported images from the auction featured descriptions of the summer 2023 trek. Valued at $20,000, the package included first-class plane tickets, a three-night hotel stay, two concert tickets, and a guided backstage tour from Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles aka Miss Tina. Beyoncé was reportedly in attendance at the gala. In January, she performed at the opening of a new luxury resort in Dubai, but did not play any Renaissance material at the private concert . It was her first live performance since 2020.

Since sharing Renaissance , Beyoncé has made a few adjustments to the album; she replaced ableist lyrics in “ Heated ,” and removed an interpolation of Kelis ’ “Milkshake” on “Energy” after Kelis said she was not informed by Beyoncé and her team that her music was going to be used on the new album. Beyoncé announces Renaissance Tour concert film: 'Start over, start fresh, create the new'

Bey Hive, grab some pure honey for your popcorn: The  Renaissance Tour  is coming to a theater near you.

Beyoncé , who wrapped her highly acclaimed Renaissance World Tour Sunday, announced Monday a film based on the concert tour will hit the big screen on Dec. 1.

" When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged. You're unique," Beyoncé says in a preview of the movie as concert footage flashes in the background. "Start over, start fresh, create the new – that's what the Renaissance is about."

The movie "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" will showcase the Grammy-winning artist's tour stops from the first show on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden, to the show's finale in Kansas City, Missouri, on Oct. 1.

In addition to concert footage, the film will include portions of the visual album for Beyoncé's latest album  "Renaissance " and a documentary-style account of the album and tour’s creation.

Beyoncé teased the film's announcement with an Instagram story countdown featured on her production company  Parkwood Entertainment’s page .

The "Break My Soul" singer  kicked off the Renaissance World Tour  in Stockholm in May. Intense fan demand, which  exceeded the number of tickets by 800% , prompted a follow-up show in the Swedish city and additional shows in  North American cities  such as Toronto, Chicago, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Beyoncé's native Houston.

The tour made its U.S. debut with a show at  Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field  in July.

"Beyoncé is an unstoppable force of precise movement and vocal dynamics, a superstar who, two months shy of turning 42 and in the where-did-the-time-go third decade of her career, has raised – and cleared – her own ambitious bar yet again," USA TODAY music critic Melissa Ruggieri wrote of the singer's Philadelphia concert.

Aside from highlighting Queen Bey's extensive pop discography, the tour offered fans a colossal, eye-popping production that featured a slew of  high fashion costumes , dazzling concept videos and guest appearances from Beyoncé's preteen daughter Blue Ivy.

Hollywood couldn't resist the Renaissance magic either. Several A-listers, including  Keke Palmer ,  Sofia Vergara ,  Prince Harry  and  Duchess Meghan ,  Selena Gomez  and rumored couple  Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner , attended the singer's  SoFi Stadium shows  in Inglewood, California, on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.

Beyoncé took a moment during the September shows to express gratitude to fans for their longtime support.

"I'm grateful to have this perspective and this view of all of you," Beyoncé said. "I've been able to do what I do for over 26 years — going on 27 years. It's because of you. It's because of your loyalty. It's because of your prayers. I just want to say, 'Thank you.' "

For the first time since 2016 — a world before Beychella , Covid-19 and “Renaissance” — Beyoncé will headline a solo tour, the singer announced in a social media post on Wednesday.

Beginning on May 10 in Stockholm, and continuing in Europe through June before coming to North America, the Renaissance World Tour, in support of her seventh solo album, will run for at least 40 dates, largely in stadiums, according to dates posted to Beyoncé’s website . The tour includes one night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (July 29) and one at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. (Sept. 2) amid stops in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix and Miami.

Limited tickets for certain tour dates will go on sale beginning Monday for members of Beyoncé’s BeyHive fan club, followed by the staggered release of additional tickets by market, using a complex registration system for various tiers of buyer.

The tour, produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation, will use Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system , which aims to limit bots and professional scalpers, marking one of the first major tests for Ticketmaster since extraordinary demand for early tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour last year led to fan backlash and regulatory scrutiny . At a Senate Judiciary hearing last month spurred by the botched presale, artists, fans and politicians cast Live Nation Entertainment, the concert industry giant that owns Ticketmaster, as a monopoly that hinders competition and harms consumers.

Beyoncé’s shows will be the singer’s first live events available to the public since the On the Run II tour with her husband, Jay-Z, in 2018, tied to the surprise release of a joint album, “Everything Is Love,” by the duo billed as the Carters. Beyoncé last toured alone behind her previous solo album, “Lemonade,” in 2016. Two years later, she headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

That show — which went on to be released as “Homecoming” (2019), a live album and concert film — was called “rich with history, potently political and visually grand” in a review by the New York Times critic Jon Caramanica. “By turns uproarious, rowdy, and lush. A gobsmacking marvel of choreography and musical direction.”

In the years since, Beyoncé has surfaced intermittently, including with songs like “Black Parade,” which won a Grammy Award for best R&B performance, and “Be Alive,” which appeared in the movie “King Richard” and was nominated for an Oscar. Last year, in a taped performance, Beyoncé performed the song at the 94th annual Academy Awards.

But the singer made a return to the pop mainstream in earnest with the July 2022 release of “Renaissance,” a dance-floor-oriented album that she said was inspired by the L.G.B.T.Q. community and has spawned hits like “Break My Soul” and “Cuff It.” At the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Beyoncé is nominated nine times , with a chance to become the most-awarded artist in history.

Upon its release, the singer called “Renaissance” part of a “three act project” that she recorded during the pandemic. “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” she wrote of the album, which was billed as Act I. “A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.”

Major music touring has largely recovered, especially at its highest levels, since the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the industry trade publication Pollstar , touring grossed a record-setting $6.28 billion last year, up more than 13 percent from 2019, due in part to pent-up fan demand, inflation and major acts like Bad Bunny, Elton John and Harry Styles.

In addition to Beyoncé’s shows, this year will see blockbuster tours from artists including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, Morgan Wallen and Madonna.

Last month, Beyoncé proved more polarizing than usual when she headlined the grand opening of a luxury hotel in Dubai, performing for an invite-only collection of guests, including influencers and journalists.

While some fans decried the optics of taking a major payday in a place that criminalizes homosexuality — “Beyoncé’s Dubai performance isn’t just an affront to LGBTQ+ fans, but workers’ rights in the UAE,” The Guardian declared — others noted that the singer’s set list did not yet include songs from “Renaissance.”

The announcement photo may look familiar to fans, as she donned the same glittery attire on the cover of her seventh studio album. Bey also added “Renaissance World Tour” on her Instagram bio, further accenting the news. Last week, Beyonce performed a full concert for the first time in four years at a luxury resort in Dubai in front of influencers and journalists. The 19-song set included a collaboration with her oldest daughter Blue Ivy as the two performed “Brown Skin Girl,” which earned them a Grammy two years ago for best music video.

Crowned a triumphant win by music lovers, Renaissance stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year and rattled off two Hot 100 top 10 hits, including her chart-topper “Break My Soul.” The dance-centric album also notched nine Grammy nominations, the most for any nominee for this year’s ceremony. Bey is looking to rack up more trophy wins, as she currently sits at a staggering 28 wins. Nominated for album of the year, song, and record of the year, Bey is facing some stout competition , especially in the former. The R&B juggernaut will tango against Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and more for album of the year. A win in this category would serve as Beyonce’s first. The 65th Grammy Awards will occur Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST.

Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour is over. But it’s coming to movie theaters soon

NEW YORK (AP) — A documentary chronicling Beyoncé's just-concluded 39-city Renaissance World Tour will premiere in North American theaters Dec. 1, AMC Theaters announced Monday.

The film adds a second blockbuster from a music superstar to a fall slate of movies that’s been slightly thinned out by the ongoing screen actors’ strike . Like “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which debuts Oct. 13, “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” is being released directly by AMC, the movie theater chain, without studio involvement.

Tickets will start at $22 plus tax. The film will run for a minimum of four weeks, AMC said.

Beyoncé's previous films include the acclaimed 2019 Netflix film “Homecoming,” which captured her Coachella performance in 2018. In the deals with AMC, Beyoncé and Swift are both reported to be receiving at least 50% of ticket sales.

The film charts Beyoncé's tour on behalf of her 2022 Grammy-winning album “Renaissance.” It mixes concert footage and elements of a visual album while trailing the tour from its launch in Stockholm, Sweden, in May to the finale Sunday night in Kansas City, Missouri.

Over the course of five months, some 2.7 million concertgoers attended. The tour has grossed close to $500 million, according to Billboard.

“It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft,” reads the film’s description.

Beyonce released a trailer on her Instagram account with the message: “Be careful what you ask for, ’cause I just might comply.”

The superstar dominated headlines with her seventh studio album  Renaissance  in 2022 and the  history-making world tour  of the same name in 2023 — and 2024 is poised to follow suit with the release of  Cowboy Carter .  Especially given the emphasis on fashion during this era, it makes sense for people to wonder if Beyoncé is headed to the Met Gala this year.

Earlier this week, a post claiming Beyoncé had been invited to the Met Gala 20 24 started  circulating  around social media, igniting a spark of hope in fans' hearts despite the lack of credible sources.

To give you a Beyoncé Met Gala history lesson, the star made her Met Gala debut in 2008 and became a mainstay in 2011, attending the event religiously for six years in a row. However, since 2016, she has been nowhere to be seen on the Met Gala stairs, which means fans have been praying for her triumphant return for almost a decade.

Now, another star who became a Met Gala favorite only to disappear for years is Zendaya , and we know she will be finally making her way back to the Met Gala stairs as one of this year's co-chairs — so maybe 2024  is  the year of major Met Gala returns. (I mean, even  Vogue  seems to be manifesting Beyoncé at the Met Gala 2024.)

The rumor mill has been churning extra fast for Beyoncé fans, who are eagerly anticipating a surprise appearance from the star. Just this past weekend, fans theorized Beyoncé could have joined the Stagecoach lineup as DJ Backwoods Barbie , but the rumors were proven to be untrue.

Could the Met Gala 2024 be the real surprise appearance for Beyoncé? Well, the actual guest list is top secret, so we can only pray and wait until May 6, but, oh, how we'd love to see Beyoncé's Western take on this year's dress code: “The Garden of Time.”

Beyoncé gave fans a look at her personal hair routine in a new video she shared on Instagram Monday morning, showing off how her new haircare line, Cécred , has made her long locks “healthy and strong.”

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 42, sat in a salon chair during the Reel as a stylist got to work washing her hair, with Beyoncé narrating the video as she went through her step-by-step regimen.

“It has been such a special experience seeing all of your #cecredwashday rituals all over my timeline… I just had to join in with something I had in the archives 🥰” she captioned the post.

In the video, Bey said she thought “it was about time” she gave fans a look at how Cécred products work on her own hair, sharing that because her “color was fresh” she chose her brand’s “rice and rose water ritual” ($52).

The “Single Ladies” singer continued that there was “nothing in the world like the conditioner” before she moved on to dry and style her hair.

“The stigma and misconception is that people that wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair … that’s some bulls—t ‘cuz it ain’t nobody business,” she quipped.

The Grammy winner explained she dries her hair “on medium heat” — using the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer ($429) and accompanying Dyson Airwrap ($599) — because she tries to “stay away from as much heat as possible.”

The haircare line, which the “Bodyguard” singer launched in February, features products such as a hydrating shampoo ($30), conditioner ($38) and hair oil ($44).

As for her the success of her new business launch, Beyoncé said she couldn’t be happier with the results. “I’m proud of the way it’s making people feel,” she concluded.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Nearly three decades into her stellar career, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and hip-hop legend Missy Elliott is embarking on her debut headlining tour, appropriately dubbed “The Out Of This World Tour,” with guests singer Ciara, rap icon Busta Rhymes and fellow super producer and collaborator Timbaland. The tour will stop at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Wednesday, August 14. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, at seatgeek.com .

Coco Jones Does It Her Way

With a much-anticipated debut album coming this summer, the Grammy-winning R&B artist prepares for takeoff.

Coco Jones is ready to fly. After her platinum song “ICU” earned the Tennessee native her first Grammy win for Best R&B Performance, she says she feels “like I’ve climbed a mountain. I just have to get to the highest point I can so that I can leap with everything I’ve got and just take off.” This year, the 26-year-old R&B artist and former Disney kid, who currently stars in Peacock’s Bel-Air , plans to do just that. This April, she dropped “Here We Go (Uh-Oh),” the lead single off her much-anticipated debut album, out this summer.

The sound will be familiar to fans who fell in love with the old-school R&B storytelling of her last EP, 2022’s What I Didn’t Tell You , but she’ll play around with new genres, too: “I don’t think I’ll ever fully leave my R&B comfort [zone],” she says, “but there are so many more elements to me that I want to start to sprinkle in.” Still, Jones will always hold on to the qualities that have gotten her this far. “The external awards reflect my inner tenacity,” she says. “I can think back to those times when I had no glimpse of this and I still kept going.”

What has been your most unbelievable moment in music?

Being nominated for five Grammys was not a sentence I ever thought I was going to hear at this stage in my career. That’s been the most unbelievable. And winning a Grammy feels kind of surreal as well. But the way my mind reacted to the five nominations, I was like, “No way.”

Do you see yourself and your career differently now?

It instilled a lot of confidence in me. When I was first putting out a project, I wasn’t sure what people were going to think. To have all this support come from me being unsure, imagine how much more I can do with certainty of myself and certainty of my music and my creative impulses.

What’s your overall career goal?

I want the option to be able to be involved in whatever I’m into. If I don’t want to put out an album for five years and I want to open up an art gallery for Black women, that would be what I do. And it would be respected and it would be valued and taken seriously because of my name and because of how hard I work. I could score a movie, start a product line, or develop an artist. I want to have options to do whatever I desire.

Has your definition of success changed as you’ve gotten older and more famous?

My definition of success used to just be: Beyoncé. But I can’t focus so much on what this woman that I am a huge fan of did. I can take the core principles, the hard work of it all, the authenticity of it all, the re-creating yourself of it all. But it has to be the Coco way. I used to do that with so many people: “I want to do what she did,” and just leave it there. But I’m me, so I can’t be what someone else is. I have to find a new way.

What would you love to explore musically?

On my debut album, I accomplished some of the sonic changes and experimentation that I wanted to try. I have so many different types of music that I’m into. Let’s not forget that I was fully a Disney girl, so I was engulfed in those pop bops. And I’m from the South, so I sang folk-country with grown artists and musicians, and had to hold my own. I have other chapters of my life that I want to pay homage to. Of course, I was raised in the church. Gospel music taught me so much about soul and spiritual connection through music.

Have any female R&B artists served as mentors to you or given you advice?

I love Ella Mai. She’s my homegirl. She’s had the type of success that I’m working toward, so she gives me a lot of advice. It’s also just the peer-to-peer support. Chloe x Halle and I are constantly uplifting each other whenever we see each other, because we grew up together in the Disney world. That’s the really beautiful part, the “Girl, we see what you’re doing. Keep going.”

You’ve mentioned that you don’t like being famous.

I don’t feel like anyone would like it if they got a taste of it. It’s very strange. I feel like an animal in a zoo sometimes. But I know that it’s not something to complain about. I think about my younger self and how I would feel when I saw people on TV in real life. I didn’t know how to act, and it’s just not normal. I’m not normal. And the human reaction to seeing me in my job, because it’s an un-normal job, is going to be an un-normal reaction. So I just have to look at it like a human response to seeing somebody that you only see on your phone. It’s strange. So I don’t take it any way but the logical way. I feel like there’s a lot of good that comes with people wanting to know more about you. You can tell them your journey, you can inspire, you can uplift. So there’s good and bad with that, too. But of course, if it was my preference, I would [just] release my songs under an alias and collect my funds.

Do you have a dream collaboration?

Mine would be Beyoncé, but I have so many other artists that I love as well: Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy, Rihanna, Alex Isley. I would do a song with Ella [Mai]. And I love Tate McRae. I think she’s fire.

Is there a question that you’ve never been asked that you’ve always wanted to share?

No one has ever asked me if the work that it takes once you do get to these things was anything that I could have understood before I got here. People see that I’m signed, I have a show, and I put things out. They don’t think, “I wonder if she knew what she was really signing up for.” The answer is no. There are so many other little things that you have to do. You have to be the final say in so many things. I didn’t know there would be so many questions that need answers, [many of which are] time-sensitive. You’re also balancing so many different sides of you: “Do you want to do this interview and this commercial? This product wants you to be aligned. Do you like this product? Can you go on tour? This artist wants you to sing on this song.” You have to constantly make sure that you can really stand on business with what you’re saying yes to. And if you don’t want to do that thing, then it’s like, “How much of this is a necessary thing for where I’m trying to get? Or is this really a choice?” On your schedule, there are things you really want to do, things you definitely don’t want to do, and things you just have to do to keep it going and not lose yourself in the midst of all those things.

I want people to think about that, too. On social media, everybody’s like, “Drop this [music].” You’re trying to still be an artist and you’re trying to live your life so you can write songs that you relate to. It’s not all glitz and glamour. The payoff is amazing, but I feel like sometimes I read comments talking about an artist. I’m like, “Girl, you have no idea what the smoke is like over here.” You have to make sure that you do what’s necessary, but also the things that are you. They don’t mesh all the time.

Where do you display your Grammy?

Right now it’s nowhere, because they have to engrave it and ship it out. It’s going to my mom’s house. When I get married and settle down into my life, that’s when I’ll be like, “Mom, let me get some of them awards back.”

Chris recalled a time a big-time rapper tagged along with his friends on a nightclub adventure, complete with a VIP section full of girls and a performance of a song he describes as "the hottest" at the time.

According to Chris, everyone was having a blast as the song was performed -- except his special guest, who made his way onstage and riled up the crowd with a fiery rant.

Chris witnessed the energy shift from chill to chaotic, and ended up getting out of the club himself -- but not before all the pretty girls darted away from their section!!!

The dead giveaway the party pooper was Ye came at the end of CB's story when he said the rapper ranted he never had a finger stuck up his ass -- the basis of Ye's 2016 spill in 1Oak when he barked back at Amber Rose rumors.

Yo Gotti had just performed his hit "Down in the DM" and Ye grabbed the mic for 20 minutes to thank Jay-Z and Tidal for streaming his 'Life Of Pablo' album.

Oh, how times have changed.

After performing with her mom onstage during the Renaissance tour, Blue Ivy Carter will join Beyoncé on the big screen.

The mother-daughter duo both voice characters in the upcoming prequel to 2019 live-action hit “The Lion King.” “Mufasa: The Lion King,” directed by Barry Jenkins and hitting theaters in December, tells the story of Mufasa’s life and his childhood with brother Scar.

Carter will voice Simba and Nala’s daughter, Kiara, while Beyoncé will reprise her role as Nala and Donald Glover will return as Simba. Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen are also back as Timon and Pumbaa.

While the film marks Carter’s first acting gig in a movie, the 12-year-old already has an impressive résumé. In addition to dancing backup on her mother‘s record-smashing Renaissance world tour, she is a Grammy winner thanks to her feature in Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” music video, which took home the music video trophy at the 2021 Grammys. Although she won that award at age 9, Carter has been setting records and making headlines since birth. Two days after she was born in 2012, her father, Jay-Z, released the song “Glory,” which featured her cries and coos. Since she was individually credited on the track, she became (and remains) the youngest person to appear on a Billboard chart.

Beyoncé also recently enlisted the help of her younger daughter, Rumi, as she recorded her new album, “Cowboy Carter.” The track “Protector,” a touching tribute to her children and motherhood, starts with Beyoncé’s 6-year-old asking her to sing a lullaby.

The “Mufasa” teaser trailer , which Disney debuted on Monday morning, does not reveal whether audiences can expect to hear Carter sing, but given Beyoncé’s musical contributions to the 2019 film, it is likely that her daughter will follow suit.

While the original 1994 animated film and the 2019 live-action remake featured familiar tunes composed by Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, along with one original song by Beyoncé, the prequel will include new music by “Hamilton” mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda has become a frequent Disney collaborator, working on the music for “Moana,” “Encanto” and the 2023 live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.”

Jenkins, the filmmaker behind the Oscar-winning “Moonlight” and “If Beale Street Could Talk,” said Carter and Beyoncé did not have to pretend too much during the voice acting process and that it was “really special” to watch them work together.

“Beyoncé is this larger-than-life figure, but when she’s working with her daughter, when she’s in the room with her daughter, she’s a mom first,” he said Monday on “Good Morning America” after dropping the trailer. “So much of that energy bled into the film.”
