Complete Map of Carnival Fleet by Homeport & List of Ships

No cruise line is as large and well-represented in cruising as Carnival. The line is the largest in the North American market, with roughly two dozen ships sailing from ports across the United States, from Long Beach to Galveston to Miami to Baltimore to San Juan.

From smaller, older ships like the Carnival Fantasy (in service since 1990) to huge, brand-new ships like the Carnival Horizon (in service since 2018), the cruise line has a ton of variety in the ships that it sails. One common theme, however, is the distinctive red funnel that is a trademark of Carnival’s ships.

And if you are looking for that funnel, we have just the map for you. With more than 20 ships in service, it can be tough to keep trap of which ships call which port home. In addition, the line regularly moves ships to ports around the country, making it even more difficult to know which ship is cruising from where.

Below, we’ve put together a map to help you see visually which ships sail from which port. Simply click on the markers to see the ships. For busy ports such as Miami, zoom in to see each individual marker.

Keep in mind that this map shows only home ports for ships currently sailing from the United States.

Keep in mind that this table and map will change regularly. As the seasons change, so do the cruise ship locations. For example, Seattle sees an influx of ships in the summer for the Alaskan cruising season, but those ships depart in September for other trips.

As well, Carnival continues to add to its fleet. The next ship from the cruise line, Carnival Panorama , is set to debut in late 2019 and sail from the Port of Long Beach.

Cruising Earth

In order to track a cruise ship on Cruising Earth , you first need to choose a cruise line from the 177 options offered. Next, you'll be prompted to select a specific cruise ship. From there, a page displays an interactive map zoomed in on the live location of the ship you selected. Click on the ship's icon to learn more about its itinerary, speed, distance traveled, weather, photos and more. Keep in mind that most of the tracking information for ships on Cruising Earth isn't accessible unless you register for a free account on the site.

As Carnival Cruise Line hopes from encouraging news to restart in the United States, it is keeping most of its fleet close to home.

Here are the locations of every Carnival Cruise Line ship as of April 17:

Mardi Gras Year Built: 2020 Capacity: 5,200 guests Location: Barcelona, Spain

After being delivered in December , the new Mardi Gras has remained in Barcelona since January. The LNG-powered vessel is expected to cross the Atlantic eventually, ahead of its inaugural cruise from Port Canaveral.  

Carnival Panorama Year Built: 2019  Capacity: 4,000 guests Location: Long Beach, California

The Carnival Panorama is currently docked at the Long Beach Cruise Terminal. The vessel has been in the region since December, after spending a few months in Central America.

Carnival Horizon Year Built: 2018 Capacity: 4,000 guests Location: The Bahamas 

After leaving Miami a few days ago, the Carnival Horizon sailed back to the Bahamas, where it is spending the operational pause.

Carnival Vista Year Built: 2016  Capacity: 4,000 guests Location: Miami, Florida

The Carnival Vista is in Miami for a technical call. Spending the operational pause in the region, the vessel arrived in Florida on April 16 after several weeks anchored off the Bahamas.    

Carnival Breeze Year Built: 2012 Capacity: 3,650 guests Location: The Bahamas

Employed on crew repatriation efforts, the Carnival Breeze sailed to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe before arriving back in the Bahamas in August. The vessel is currently at the Great Stirrup Cay Anchorage.

Carnival Magic   Year Built: 2011 Capacity: 3,650 guests Location: Civitavecchia, Italy    

Another ship used in crew repatriation, the Carnival Magic brought crew members back to Europe in 2020. The vessel has remained in Italy ever since along with other Carnival Corporation ships.

Carnival Dream Year Built: 2009 Capacity: 3,650 guests Location: The Bahamas

The Carnival Dream is spending the operational pause in the Bahamas region. Currently, it is anchored off Great Stirrup Cay.  

Carnival Splendor  Year Built: 2008 Capacity: 3,000 guests Location: Singapore

The Carnival Splendor remains laid up in Singapore. One of Carnival’s Australia-based vessels, it arrived in Asia soon after its cruises were suspended.

Carnival Freedom Year Built: 2007 Capacity: 2,974 guests Location: Florida Coast

After docking in Miami for resupplying, the Carnival Freedom is returning to the Great Bahama Bank.

Carnival Liberty Year Built: 2005 Capacity: 2,974 guests Location: Florida Coast

The Carnival Liberty is presently near Florida. Like the Carnival Freedom, it recently docked in Miami for supplies before returning to the Great Bahama Bank.  

Carnival Valor Year Built: 2004 Capacity: 2,974 guests Location: Civitavecchia, Italy

Since September, the Carnival Valor has been anchored off Italy. The vessel is currently near the Port of Civitavecchia, along with the Carnival Magic.   

Carnival Miracle Year Built: 2004 Capacity: 2,100 guests Location: Long Beach, California

The Carnival Miracle has been in Long Beach for the past few months. The ship arrived back in the U.S. in December, after a long period anchored off Panama.  

Carnival Glory Year Built: 2003 Capacity: 2,974 guests Location: Miami, Florida

Spending the operational pause in the Bahamas, the Carnival Glory arrived in Miami for a technical call on April 16.

Carnival Conquest Year Built: 2002 Capacity: 2,974 guests Location: The Bahamas

The Carnival Conquest is anchored off Little Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Carnival Legend Year Built: 2002

Capacity: 2,100 guests Location: Caribbean

The Carnival Legend was recently employed on humanitarian efforts in St. Vincent. With the local volcano near eruption, the vessel helped evacuated the island residents, along with other cruise ships . Currently it is sailing to St. Maarten.  

Carnival Pride Year Built: 2001 Capacity: 2,100 guests Location: Florida Coast

The Carnival Pride is currently near Florida. The Spirit-class vessel was previously anchored off Freeport in the Bahamas. 

Carnival Spirit Year Built: 2001 Capacity: 2,100 guests Location: Singapore

After being used on crew repatriation voyages, the Carnival Spirit remained in Asia. Currently, the ship is anchored off Singapore.  

Carnival Victory/Radiance Year Built: 2000 Capacity: 2,984 guests Location: Cádiz, Spain

The Carnival Victory is still in Cádiz, Spain. In March 2020, the vessel arrived at the port for a major refit, which had work suspended soon after the pandemic started.

Carnival Sunrise Year Built: 1999 Capacity: 2,984 guests Location: The Bahamas

Spending the operational pause in the Bahamas, the Carnival Sunrise visited Florida in March. More recently, the vessel has been in the Great Bahama Bank, along with other Carnival vessels.

Carnival Elation Year Built: 1998

Capacity: 2,040 guests Location:  The Bahamas

Another Carnival ship spending the operational pause in the Bahamas, the Carnival Elation is currently near Little Stirrup Cay.

Carnival Paradise Year Built: 1998 Capacity: 2,040 guests Location: Caribbean

Like the Carnival Legend, the Carnival Paradise was recently used to evacuate residents of St. Vincent after the imminent eruption of the La Sofrière volcano. The ship is currently sailing St. Maarten.

Carnival Sunshine Year Built: 1996 Capacity: 3,000 guests Location: The Bahamas

Along with other Carnival vessels, the Carnival Sunshine is anchored near Great Stirrup Cay, in the Bahamas.

Carnival Sensation Year Built: 1993 Capacity: 2,040 guests Location: The Bahamas

The Carnival Sensation is yet another Carnival ship in the Bahamas. The Fantasy-class vessel is currently near Freeport.

Florence in California: Carnival launches new Italian-style cruise ship

Carnival Cruise Line is bringing a touch of Italy to Southern California.

The line launched Carnival Firenze, inspired by its namesake city, this week. The vessel sailed its maiden voyage from its Long Beach homeport on Thursday.

“We carry more guests than any other cruise line from California, and now this ship is giving us the opportunity to offer more fun to more people sailing from Long Beach,” Christine Duffy, the line’s president, said in a news release . “The recipe combining this ship’s beautiful Italian theming with the familiarity of our friendly team’s hospitality is, in a word, perfecto!”

The ship is the second in the Carnival Fun Italian Style concept after sister ship Carnival Venezia joined the fleet last summer. Both were originally part of Costa Cruises – also owned by parent company Carnival Corp. – before being rehomed.

Where will Carnival Firenze sail?

The roughly 5,000-guest ship will offer Baja Mexico and Mexican Riviera cruises ranging from three to seven days. Stops include destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Catalina Island.

What can guests expect ?

Built in 2020, Firenze was refurbished this year to add Carnival-specific touches. Those include staple venues like the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and JavaBlue Cafe.

But the line leans into the ship’s Italian motif. The ship’s atrium was designed with Florence’s Piazza del Duomo in mind, and the Lido deck takes influence from the Italian Riviera. There’s even a replica of Michelangelo’s David on board that used to be on Carnival Pride (the real sculpture is in Florence’s Accademia Gallery).

The theme extends to the food and drink options, with eateries like Italian specialty restaurant Il Viaggio, Mexican-Italian fusion venue Tomodoro and La Strada Grill serving Italian street food. Frizzante specializes in bubbly drinks, and passengers can sip craft cocktails and Italian coffee at Amari.

Other features include the WaterWorks water park and Serenity Adult-Only Retreat.

How much does Carnival Firenze cost?

Prices vary based on sailing date and other factors, but a five-day Mexican Riviera cruise departing on May 30 now starts at $409 per person based on double occupancy, according to Carnival’s website . The fare includes much of the food on the ship, drinks like regular coffee and iced tea and more.

C ucina del Capitano, Carnival Cruise Line 's Italian restaurant, is a cruiser favorite. It offers a delightful, cozy spot to gather over a delicious meal, and there's something for just about everyone — from the biggest foodie to the pickiest eater — on the menu.

Here's a guide to what you can expect when you dine there, including what's on the menu, how much it'll cost you and a list of ships where you can find this eatery.

What is Cucina del Capitano on Carnival cruise ships?

Cucina del Capitano, which translates to "Captain's Kitchen" in English, is the Italian restaurant found on nearly one-third of Carnival's ships . It first rolled out on Carnival Magic in 2011, after the line decided to poll its Italian captains for their favorite recipes from home. From there, the Cucina del Capitano menu was born.

The restaurant offers delicious food options for cruisers who are hungry for traditional Italian dishes like pasta, chicken Parmesan and tiramisu that they can chase with a post-dinner limoncello.

While the decor and ambience can vary from vessel to vessel, the restaurants feel cozy, with family photos from the fleet's captains on the wall. You'll either be seated at a table with a red-and-white checkered tablecloth that makes you feel like you're sitting down to a backyard cookout or in a cozy alcove that makes the experience feel more like you've stepped into an Italian family's dining room for a big meal.

On most ships, the restaurant functions like a typical specialty restaurant . However, on Excel Class ships, the venue was designed as an overflow restaurant to take some of the pressure off of the main dining rooms during peak times. The restaurant is open to everyone, but only passengers with Your Time Dining — which allows cruisers to dine anytime they wish between 5 and 9 p.m. — can have dinner at Cucina del Capitano anytime during opening hours. Cruisers with set-seating dining are only allowed to eat there after 7:45 p.m.

Reservations are recommended.

Meals at Cucina del Capitano are broken into four categories or courses: starters, soups and salads; mains and pastas; sides; and desserts. Captain-recommended favorites are noted on the menu.

You might choose to start with cured tuna, meatballs, deep-fried shrimp, minestrone soup or a caprese salad. For your main course, try linguine with clams, spaghetti carbonara, grilled fish, veal marsala, a pork chop or captain-favorite chicken Parmesan. You can also opt for steakhouse fare — including filet mignon, surf 'n' turf or a grilled lamb chop — for a $23 surcharge.

For your sides, pick from roasted broccoli and cauliflower, lentils, spinach or crispy potatoes.

If you still have room for dessert, options include an apple pastry, frozen lemon tarte, baba (Italian rum cake) or tiramisu, a captain favorite. You can also order specialty coffees and digestifs, including limoncello, amaretto, sambuca, grappa and more.

A selection of wine (red, white and rose) and beer costs extra unless you have a drink package that covers your beverage choice.

A children's menu is available for kids 11 and younger. Selections include spaghetti with meatballs, fish sticks, chicken fingers, and macaroni and cheese, with a choice of either cannoli or lemon sherbet for dessert.

Additionally, six of the 11 ships that have Cucina del Capitano feature a free Captain's Pasta Bar option for lunch. The menu includes a choice of linguini, penne or farfalle, as well as sauces like tomato, Alfredo, white clam and meat sauce, as well as butter. Additional mix-ins include Italian sausage, chicken strips and a plethora of vegetables. Want something more hearty? You can also choose lasagna, and don't forget to toss in a side of Caesar salad or bread.

Cucina del Capitano prices

Pricing is a bit confusing, as it varies according to ship.

On the line's newest Excel Class ships , Cucina del Capitano is free for all passengers during their first visit to the restaurant. Additional visits are $8 per person. The only exception is Carnival Jubilee ; every visit is free during the ship's inaugural season. After that, it will share the same pricing as Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras .

On the other eight ships that have the restaurant (see below), the cost is $24 per adult. Kids 11 and younger can dine for $11 from the children's menu.

Selections from the menu's steakhouse section will incur a fee of $23 per item. Alcohol costs extra unless you have a beverage package that covers it. An 18% gratuity will be added (except to free meals), and a $5 surcharge will apply for every main course after the first two per person.

The Captain's Pasta Bar, which is offered for lunch only on select ships, is complimentary.

We are seeking Personal Vacation Planner (PVP) to be part of our team. Currently considering residents from ONLY from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas .

As a remote PVP, you'll be the face of Carnival Cruise Line, making outbound calls to potential customers, building strong relationships, and converting leads into unforgettable cruise experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Excellent attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the job.

• Since this is an incentive-driven position, when business needs dictate, PVPs may be required to work the last Saturday of a month. 
• The starting hourly pay rate for this role is $15/hour for the first 5 pay periods. For pay periods 6 through 10, the rate is *$11/hour plus participation in the sales incentive program.  From the 11th pay period onward, the annual base salary will be $16,500 with continued participation in the sales incentive program. The sales incentive program is tiered and includes a 6-month incentive guarantee. Average annual earning for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 with high performers earning $100,000+.

Though travel and cruise stocks have yet to return to their pre-Covid-19 levels, 2024 may be the year of vacations. According to U.S. cruise operators and travel agents, travelers have booked record levels of cruise tickets , surpassing 2019’s numbers. This marks a return of interest and trust in the cruise ship industry after pandemic-era controversies.

However, not all cruise lines are created equal, with some achieving returns to profitability faster than others. Moreover, with the industry’s revenue projected to hit $30 billion in 2024, cruise line stocks could become lucrative investment opportunities. For investors, there are two major factors to look for when considering cruise stocks.

The first is overall financial health, which is measured by the company’s debt-to-income ratios and revenue costs. With cruise ships being expensive to procure, own and operate , many cruise lines don’t have the widest margins. The second is the cruise line’s reputation for value, service and quality. Cruises tend to be expensive forms of vacation for most travelers, meaning that reputation is everything for increasing revenue over time.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH)

With a congregation of three award-winning brands across a combined 32 ships, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NYSE: NCLH ) has been making a steady comeback since 2022. Because its vessel sizes range from 500 to over 4,000 berths, the company has a ship for every itinerary type. 

Moreover, to remain competitive, NCLH consistently introduces new vessels alongside the revitalization of older ones . By continuously enhancing offerings, the company believes it will be able to satisfy customers and entice them into coming back. This is meant to support profitability even as prices rise with operating costs. NCLH pairs this improvement focus with the high-class reputation of its brands to maximize revenue generation. 

So far, it seems this business model has been working for NCLH as the cruise industry recovers. For example, the company raised total annual revenue by $3.7 billion in 2023 to $8.5 billion , up from $4.8 billion in 2022. Though it’s still operating at a loss, record bookings and interest in cruises could boost the stock after its next earnings call.

Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) 

Renowned for its innovative approach to cruising, Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE: RCL ), the world’s second-largest cruise line, has built significant momentum in the last year. Thanks to tremendous demand and 2023 being an exceptional year, RCL stock has returned to its pre-pandemic trading rate of $135 , and is still growing.

For the full year of 2023, the company reported a positive net income of $1.7 billion, translating to $6.31 per share. This is impressive considering its biggest competitor, Carnival Cruise Lines (NYSE: CCL ), is currently reporting losses per share. Moreover, it has reported the five best booking weeks in company history since its Q3 2023 earnings call.

Much of this generous growth can be attributed to the cruise line’s strong marketing and reputation for good value. It earned this reputation by focusing on providing the widest array of experiences for customers while maintaining quality standards.

Lindblad Expeditions Holdings (LIND)

A premium provider in the world of cruises, Lindblad Expeditions Holdings (NASDAQ: LIND ) operates a different kind of travel experience. By specializing in nature expeditions partnered with National Geographic , LIND appeals to adventurous travelers. As such, it markets itself to those with a desire to see the remote parts of the world in style.

Charting voyages to and around Antarctica, LIND’s target market is vastly different from other cruises. That’s because it offers more one-of-a-kind experiences to wealthier people than the major cruise companies. This makes it somewhat of a black sheep among cruise stocks, as its growth relies on consumers with niche interests rather than the sheer volume of classic cruise ships.

The company also operates a diverse mix of land-based itineraries, as well as charter flights across the Drake Passage to Antarctica . This portfolio allows LIND to command the attention of explorers and tourists alike, as it has few competitors in the commercialization of Antarctica.
