Before we dive into the specifics of the Disney Cruise Line food options, it’s essential to clarify what’s included in your fare. Here’s a rundown:

  • Main Dining Rooms : Meals at the main dining restaurants (such as Animator’s Palate, Enchanted Garden, and Royal Court) are included.
  • Quick-Service Dining : Food from quick-service (casual) spots like Flo’s V8 Cafe, Duck-In Diner, and Eye Scream is included.
  • Buffet Dining : Meals at buffet-style dining venues like Cabanas are included.
  • Character Breakfasts : These breakfasts are free, but tickets must be obtained in advance.
  • Room Service : Most items on the room service menu are complimentary, but note that gratuity is not included.
  • Snacks : Free snacks are available throughout the day at various locations on the ship.

Unlimited sodas and juices are included in your cruise cost, no drink package necessary!

Not Included:

  • Specialty Dining : Meals at adult-exclusive dining venues like Palo, Remy, and Enchanté come at an additional cost. The same goes for Royal Court’s Royal Tea.
  • Alcoholic Beverages and Specialty Drinks : Soft drinks are free at the beverage station, but alcoholic beverages, smoothies, and specialty coffees are not.
  • Snacks at Preludes : Snacks and beverages at Preludes, located near the ship’s theaters, are not included.

Your Disney Cruise fare includes a wide selection of delicious meals that cater to all tastes. However, you have the choice to enhance your dining experience with premium options available for an extra charge. It’s entirely up to you whether to stick with the inclusive options or add charges to your stateroom account.

Keep in mind, though, that gratuities are not included in the cost of a Disney cruise, and this applies to both the included and extra-cost meals.

Types of Dining Experiences on Disney Cruise Line

A Disney cruise offers a variety of dining options to suit every taste, from gourmet foodies to fussy eaters. Here are the main types of dining experiences you’ll encounter on a Disney cruise.

Rotational Dining on Disney Cruises

Disney Cruise Line’s Rotational Dining introduces a novel approach to dining, blending variety with familiarity. My wife and I are big fans of this system, as it brings a delightful element of surprise to our meals.

In the Rotational Dining system, you’ll visit three main dining restaurants during your cruise, changing the venue each night . This rotation lets you appreciate the unique ambiance, theme, and menu of each restaurant, ensuring that you experience them all.

You don’t need to make a reservation for the nightly dinner service — you simply pick a dining time when you book your cruise. You’ll select either early/main dining (usually around 5:45 PM), or late/second dining (typically around 8:00 PM). As you board the ship, you’ll receive a dining rotation that shows which restaurant you’re assigned to for each night of the cruise.

One of the standout features of this system is the consistent service. Your serving team travels with you from restaurant to restaurant, quickly becoming familiar with your personal preferences, dietary requirements, and even your favorite dessert, leading to a truly personalized dining experience.

Here’s a glimpse into the dining rotation on each ship:

  • On Disney Magic , the rotation includes Lumiere’s, Animator’s Palate, and Rapunzel’s Royal Table.
  • The Disney Wonder features Triton’s, Animator’s Palate, and Tiana’s Place.
  • On Disney Dream , you’ll experience Royal Palace, Animator’s Palate, and Enchanted Garden.
  • Disney Fantasy also includes Royal Court and Animator’s Palate but with the Enchanted Garden as the third venue.
  • And finally, Disney Wish introduces Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923.

Every meal becomes a highlight of the day, bringing the excitement of a new setting combined with the comfort of familiar faces in our serving team. For my wife and I, the variety offered by Rotational Dining transforms each meal into its own unique adventure.

Buffet Dining

Disney Cruise Line’s buffet dining options, like Cabanas on four Disney ships and the new Marceline Market on Disney Wish, offer a casual, diverse culinary experience. Both buffet venues feature an extensive selection of dishes for breakfast and lunch in a free-flowing dining environment, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of dishes at their leisure.

At Cabanas , guests can start their day with a classic American breakfast featuring made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, sausages, and Mickey-shaped waffles. Lunch transitions into contemporary favorites like salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, steak, chicken, seafood, and pizza. Vegetarian options and a kid-friendly menu are also available.

Cabanas’ décor is designed to evoke the relaxed ambiance of a beach boardwalk, complete with sweeping sea views through floor-to-ceiling windows and on an outdoor patio. The nautical-themed setting is enhanced with a stunning 30-foot-long mosaic depicting a scene from Pixar’s Finding Nemo.

Disney Wish enhances the buffet experience with Marceline Market , a unique venue housing a series of themed food stations. Inspired by international marketplaces, the restaurant offers a wide range of international dishes, including Italian staples, Asian specialties, comfort food, and seafood specialties.

Dining at the buffet is included in your Disney cruise fare and offers flexibility to suit every schedule. However, because operating hours and offerings vary from day to day, please check the daily schedule.

Specialty Dining

Disney Cruise Line’s specialty dining options are perfect for guests seeking an upscale, intimate culinary experience. These adult-exclusive venues – Palo, Remy, and Enchanté – do require an extra fee and reservations, but they provide an unforgettable culinary experience.

  • Palo , available across all ships, offers Northern Italian cuisine in a sophisticated setting. The menu features a wide range of antipasti, handcrafted pasta, seafood, and delectable desserts, paired with a comprehensive wine list. Palo is my personal favorite, consistently impressing me with its atmosphere and cuisine. On the Disney Wish, Palo is enhanced as Palo Steakhouse , offering not only Italian favorites but also prime beef choices such as Australian wagyu and Japanese Kobe/Miyazaki.
  • Remy – found on Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy – delivers a superb French menu inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille. My wife, Jaimie, is a huge fan of Remy — the impeccable service, the menu bursting with flavors, and the overall culinary experience are exceptional.
  • On the Disney Wish, Enchanté takes luxury dining up a notch. The adults-only spot serves incredible food in a stunning setting with a menu designed by a three-Michelin-starred chef.

Palo Steakhouse – Disney Wish

The specialty dining venues on Disney cruises offer a peaceful, adult-only escape amidst the bustling cruise activities. They provide an opportunity for a relaxed, romantic meal. Exceptional service, thoughtful theming, and gourmet cuisine set these dining experiences apart on any Disney cruise. Speaking from personal experience, my wife and I believe these extraordinary moments justify the additional expense and the need to dress up just a bit.

These conveniently located dining spots are scattered across the pool deck and other areas of the ship, serving a range of food and beverages throughout the day.

The options range from classic comfort food like burgers, hot dogs, and pizza to healthier choices like fresh salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, catching a movie under the stars, or simply looking for a snack to tide you over until dinner, quick-service dining offers a convenient and informal option that won’t interrupt your day’s activities.

For instance, on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, you can grab a quick bite at Flo’s Café , a Cars-themed quick service location offering American classics. On the Disney Magic, you’ll find the Duck-In Diner serving up delicious meals poolside. Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, a beloved feature on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, delivers hot, fresh pizza throughout the day. On the Disney Wish, the Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods offers a selection of quick bites.

Quick-service dining is included in your Disney cruise fare, ensuring a wide selection of options for everyone in your party at no additional cost.

Character Dining Experiences

One of the unique aspects of a Disney cruise is the opportunity to dine with beloved Disney characters . These special dining events provide magical moments for kids and kids-at-heart alike.

Some of the main dining rooms offer some character interaction during dinner. For example, Louie makes appearances at Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder, and the Frozen dining experience on Disney Wish features all the primary characters from the films.

Arendelle Dining

Arendelle – a Frozen Dining Adventure, onboard the Disney Wish

Character breakfasts may be offered on cruises of seven nights or longer and offer the chance to pose for photos and get autographs from characters dressed in the cruise attire . It’s the perfect way to kick off your cruise day and one of the many reasons why Disney Cruise Line enjoys a reputation as the best cruise line for kids .

Additionally, the Royal Court Royal Tea Party (available for an additional fee on all ships except the Disney Wish) is a grand affair where young guests are treated like royalty . Accompanied by select Disney Princesses, guests enjoy tea, sandwiches, and pastries, along with storytelling and song performances.

The Vacationeer can provide more information about these special dining experiences.

Themed Dining Events

Disney Cruise Line takes themed dining to a whole new level with their unique dining events. These include Pirate Night , a swashbuckling celebration featuring a special menu and a grand deck party, and Frozen-themed dining on select sailings, where guests can savor Nordic-inspired dishes while interacting with beloved characters from the film.

On Marvel Day at Sea and Pixar Day at Sea sailings, guests can enjoy special themed menus inspired by their favorite movies. These dining events, complete with character appearances and entertainment, add another layer of magic to the Disney cruise experience.

In addition to meals, Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of snacks throughout the day. You can satisfy any mid-day or late-night craving with a variety of sweets and savory options.

One popular spot for a sweet treat is Eye Scream Treats , a self-service frozen dessert station where you can enjoy a (free!) swirled cone of soft-serve ice cream in various flavors. For those desiring a pastry or a caffeine kick, the adults-only Cove Café provides specialty coffees and assorted pastries.

Guests aboard Disney Dream can visit Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats , offering a delightful mix of candies, gelato, and baked goods inspired by the Wreck-It Ralph movies. On the Disney Fantasy, Sweet on You caters to guests’ sweet tooth with its handcrafted gelato, ice cream, chocolates, and an extensive selection of candies.

These snack locations are perfect for moments when a small treat is just what’s needed to satiate a sweet tooth or tide you over until the next meal. It’s important to note that while many snack options are included in your cruise fare, some items, particularly those from Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats and Sweet on You, carry an additional charge.

Room Service

Disney Cruise Line offers 24-hour complimentary room service , allowing guests to enjoy a meal or snack in the comfort of their stateroom. The room service menu features a variety of options, including sandwiches, salads, burgers, desserts, and a selection of beverages. Be sure to try the  All Hands On Deck cheese/cracker/fruit plate — it’s a repeat cruiser favorite!

You will need to pay a bit extra if you want canned sodas, specialty drinks, or prepackaged candies.

Whether you’re craving a midnight snack or prefer breakfast in bed, Disney’s room service has you covered. However, note that while the food is complimentary, gratuities for the delivery personnel are customary and not included in your cruise fare.

Lounges and Bars

Disney Cruise Line boasts a diverse range of bars and lounges catering to various moods and occasions. From refined champagne bars to dynamic sports pubs and relaxing pool bars, there’s an ideal spot for everyone.

Certain venues like Crown and Fin and O’Gills not only offer an extensive beverage selection but also provide light snacks or small-plate food options, enhancing your night out.

For those favoring an alfresco experience, pool deck bars such as Currents and Waves are perfect for a cocktail or cold beer paired with a selection of snacks.

Each Disney ship hosts a unique nightlife district, offering themed bars and lounges. For example, the Europa district on Disney Fantasy, with its European-inspired venues, offers a variety of specialty drinks and bite-sized foods.

Disney Cruise Line’s bars and lounges extend beyond relaxation and socialization; they deliver a culinary adventure with finely crafted drinks and delightful snacks amidst a magical Disney setting. Note that while many drink options are included in your cruise fare, some specialty beverages and foods may incur additional charges.

Food at Disney Cruise Line Destinations: A Tasting Tour

Disney Cruise Food - Scallops seared and served with orzo and vegetables

Disney Cruise Line’s itineraries do more than just transport guests to some of the world’s most captivating and scenic destinations; they also offer a passport to discover unique flavors and culinary traditions from across the globe. As a result of the diverse food options available at these destinations, dining becomes an adventure, allowing guests to experience local culture through their food.

Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, is a tropical paradise with great food as well. Included in your cruise fare are meals at two island dining venues, Cookie’s BBQ and Cookie’s Too BBQ , which serve a mouthwatering spread of BBQ ribs, burgers, grilled chicken, hot dogs, fresh salads, and soft-serve ice cream.

Disney Cruise Food - Cookie's BBQ entrance, showing plates stacked high and customers entering

Adults searching for a serene and relaxed dining environment can head over to Serenity Bay BBQ . This adults-only location provides the same tantalizing menu in a tranquil setting. It’s a location my wife, Jaimie, and I particularly enjoy.

Should you wish to indulge a bit more, various island bars serve a selection of tropical cocktails and beer for an additional fee.

Whether you’re savoring your meal with your toes in the sand or enjoying a fruity drink at the adults-only Serenity Bay, Castaway Cay offers a delicious taste of the tropics. See our Castaway Cay Tips page for more information.

Caribbean itineraries offer a chance to taste a medley of cuisines influenced by African, European, and Amerindian traditions. Local food vendors at various ports of call might serve up dishes like jerk chicken in Jamaica, roti in Barbados, or conch fritters in the Bahamas. If your itinerary includes a stop in Mexico, take advantage of the chance to savor authentic tacos or enchiladas.

Mediterranean

Disney’s European cruises introduce guests to a wide range of culinary traditions, especially in the Mediterranean. In Italy, you might enjoy a classic pasta dish or a slice of authentic Neapolitan pizza. In Greece, sample the traditional moussaka or a gyro filled with succulent meat and fresh tzatziki. If your cruise stops in Spain, don’t miss the chance to try paella or tapas.

Other Food Experiences on Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line also offers Port Adventures in many locations that include food tastings or cooking demonstrations, allowing guests the opportunity to learn more about the local cuisine and culture.

While dining onboard Disney Cruise Line is an experience to remember, the culinary adventures continue at each unique port of call. From local restaurants and food stalls to Disney’s very own Castaway Cay and forthcoming Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point , there’s a world of flavors waiting to be discovered on your Disney Cruise Line journey.

Each dining venue on the ship features diverse menu options, many of which are suitable for vegetarians, vegans, and those with food allergies or intolerances. Guests with special dietary needs can expect to find a variety of tasty dishes, from fresh salads and grilled vegetables to unique plant-based entrees.

Disney Cruise Food - Mushroom Tart

Disney Cruise Line menus accommodate a range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, lactose-free, Kosher, Halal, and more. However, to ensure a seamless dining experience, guests are encouraged to communicate any food allergies or special dietary needs at the time of booking. This information is then shared with the onboard team to prepare and handle your meals with utmost care.

A Disney Travel Agent from The Vacationeer can be a helpful resource in managing this process. They can assist in notifying Disney Cruise Line of any dietary needs ahead of your sailing, ensuring your dining experience is worry-free and enjoyable. Disney Cruise Menus

by Prof. Cruise · Published January 30, 2022 · Updated June 12, 2023

A bunch of Disney cruise menus with text that reads: Disney Cruise Menus.

There’s something you should know about me that might surprise you. I went on a Disney cruise before it was cool. In fact, I went on a Disney cruise before Disney Cruise Line even existed! You’re probably asking yourself two questions at this point: “how?” and “just how old is she?!?”

At 10 years-old I went on my very first cruise, a “Disney cruise” onboard Premier Cruise Line (they had a partnership with Disney that allowed characters on their ships and offered cruise, hotel, and theme park packages). I was reminiscing about that first cruise today with Paul Thornton as he interviewed me for the third in his series of cruise books and thought to myself, “even though I’m cheaper than Jack Benny (that should offer you a clue as to my age) and low-key hate Disney (Walt would want you to go easy on me in the comments), as someone who cruises for a living I really shouldn’t have let 30+ years go by between Disney cruises.”

So that got me thinking about planning a Disney cruise. And since food is one of the most important aspects of cruising, I was curious as to whether the quality and variety of food on Disney would justify the extra cost. I figured some of my readers may be wondering the same, so I reached out to a Disney loving cruise buddy and he sent along these recent menus (these specific menus are from the Dream and the Fantasy – other ships will vary slightly, but this will still give you a basic idea of what to expect).

He also sent me a primer on “rotational dining,” which I think sounds pretty unique and fun.

What’s “rotational dining” on Disney cruises?

It’s like speed dating with food! Disney ships have three main dining rooms with a different menu and theme. Each evening of your cruise you will rotate to a different restaurant (assigned to you in advance) with your same table-mates and wait staff. In looking over the menus posted below, the three dining rooms are: Animator’s Palate, Enchanted Garden, and Royal Palace. There’s also a pirate theme night that will take place in one of those dining rooms and I’ve included that menu as well.

I’ll spare you any further song and dance (you’ll get plenty of that if you decide to book a Disney cruise) and get straight to the menus. But if there’s anyone reading who has cruised on Disney, please chime in in the comments with your experience and your favorite menu items.

Disney Cruise Line’s Breakfast Menu (included)

This breakfast menu will be available in one of the main dining rooms and is included in your cruise fare.

Disney Cruise Line’s Animator’s Palate Diner Menu Menu (included)

Aminator’s Palate is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line’s Enchanted Garden Dinner Menu (included)

Enchanted Garden is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line’s Royal Palace Dinner Menu (included)

Royal Palace (called “Royal Court” on the Fantasy) is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line's Royal Palace Dinner Menu 2022 page 1

Disney Cruise Line’s Pirate Night Dinner Menu (included)

On most Disney itineraries there will be a Pirate-themed night that will take place in whatever restaurant you’re assigned for that night. Here’s the menu:

Disney Cruise Line’s Kids Menus

Here are the kid’s menus for a 7-night sailing. Each menu will also include an additional page with activities for kids to complete while waiting for their meal to arrive. Or for adults who forgot to charge their phone.

Disney Cruise Line's Kids Menu 2022 page 1

This is the kid’s menu for Pirate Night:

Disney Cruise Line’s Room Service Menu (included)

Room service is included for free on Disney cruises (except for specialty items noted below), but be sure to tip. I typically tip $2 per item ordered, but do whatever you’re comfortable with.

Disney Cruise Line’s Room Service Breakfast Card (included)

Hang this room service card on your stateroom door the night before and have a continental breakfast delivered the next morning at your chosen time.

Disney Cruise Line’s Flo’s Cafe Menu (included)

This complimentary outdoor cafe offers three food stations with the following options:

Disney Cruise Line’s Frozone Treats Menu (extra charge)

Cool off with a frozen beverage at Frozone Treats. Smoothies are currently priced at $3.95 for a small and $5.25 for a large.

Disney Cruise Line’s Palo Dinner Menu (extra charge)

This adults-only Italian specialty restaurant offers a prix fixe option for $45 or you can order à la carte.

Disney Cruise Line's Palo Dinner Menu 2022 page 1

Disney Cruise Line Remy Dinner Menu (extra charge)

At $125 for the prix fixe option (you can also order à la carte), Remy stands out as the most expensive specialty restaurant at sea. The French-inspired offerings are the work of two world renowned chefs, Scott Hunnel, from the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at the Disney World Resort, and Arnaud Lallement, a Michelin 3-starred chef recently named one of the world’s 10 best chefs by  Le Chef .

Disney Cruise Line Remy Dinner Menu 2022 page 1

These menus almost make me want to get a real job so I can afford them! That seems extreme though. Instead I think I’ll start subtly working on my in-laws, tugging gently on their heart strings: “Your grandson will love you more if you take us all on a Disney cruise!”

If my next post includes a photo of me pouting in 30-year-old Minnie ears with a “DONATE HERE TO SEND PROF. CRUISE ON A DISNEY CRUISE” button, you’ll know it didn’t work. And with that…

CLASS DISMISSED.

Homework (10 points): Share your thoughts on cruising Disney in the comments. If you’ve taken a Disney cruise, what did you think? If you haven’t, why not? Tips? Tricks? Highlights? Worth the higher cost? Not worth the higher cost? Favorite menu items? I want to hear it all! I love learning from my cruise friends, especially when they know way more about a topic than I do! Thanks in advance!

Table of Contents

Disney Dream Dining Overview

dining menu menus food restaurants cruise remy

There are three themed sit-down restaurants onboard Disney Disney, and, thanks to rotational dining, you get to experience them all during your cruise. And your waitstaff team will rotate with you too!

You will find these sit-down restaurants onboard:

Royal Palace

Enchanted garden.

  • Animator’s Palate

Plus two adult only restaurants (reservations required):

There are also several grab-and-go locations:

  • Flo’s Cafe (outdoor cafe with three food stations – Luigi’s Pizza, Tow Mater’s Grill and Fillmore’s Favorites)
  • Eye Scream Treats
  • Frozone Treats

Cabanas, a casual restaurant offering buffet-style dining during breakfast and lunch, and table-service during dinner.

You can also order room service. It is available 24 hours a day.

The best part of cruising is that most of the meals and snacks are included in the price of the cruise! Dining at Palo and Remy and some items like specialty coffee, treats from  Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats,  and Dole Whip require an additional fee.

Animator's Palate

You will find Animator’s Palate, a restaurant showcasing Disney and Pixar characters and movie scenes, onboard of all Disney Cruise Line ships besides the newest one, Disney Wish.

The dinner show on Dream is different from the show on Magic and Fantasy. Instead of watching your drawings come to life, you get to chat with Crush from Finding Nemo (well, if you are sitting next to a screen).

Royal Palace is inspired by Disney Princesses, which makes it our favorite restaurant onboard (obviously).

Even though Royal Palace is unique to Disney Dream, its menu is identical to Lumiere’s menu on Disney Magic .

This cruise I was finally able to experience Palo! And because I was dining with two other adults, we got to try almost everything on the menu.

I must say Palo brunch is well worth the $45 fee.

Casual & Quick Service Dining

Cabanas is a casual restaurant offering buffet-style dining for breakfast and lunch, and table-service for dinner.

We had dinner at the featured restaurants, so we did not have a chance to check out the dinner service at Cabanas.

For breakfast you will find:

  • Oatmeal & grits
  • Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, omelets
  • Pancakes, waffles, and French toast
  • Breakfast meats

For lunch you can expect:

  • Deli meats & cheeses
  • Seafood bar (including crab legs!)
  • Several protein options
  • Pasta & potatoes
  • And, of course, a variety of desserts

Luigi's Pizza

As you can tell by the name, Luigi’s Pizza is serving a variety of pizzas.

Tow Mater Grill

You will find hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders at Tow Mater Grill.

(You’ll also find wait staff inside the theater offering snacks to purchase just before showtime.)

Room Service (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish) – Room service onboard all five Disney ships is available 24 hours a day and offers a wide range of choices. (Some of the choices are an additional fee, but much of the menu is included in the price of your cruise.)

Sweet on You (Disney Fantasy) – Here you will find specialty ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, and more (available at an additional cost.)

Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats (Disney Dream) – Similar to the sweets shop on the Disney Fantasy, this place is inspired by Princess Vanellope’s love of all things candy! (Treats are available for an additional cost.)

Wheezy’s Freezies (Disney Wish) – Inspired by everyone’s favorite penguin from Toy Story II , this poolside spot mixes up frozen-fruit smoothies.

Rotational Dining

One of the most unique dining aspects of a Disney Cruise is its rotational dining. Each night, your party rotates between three main restaurants on board, and your wait staff rotates with you. This allows you to try all that Disney has to offer while at the same time giving your waiters the opportunity to serve you better as they get to know you!

1923 (Disney Wish) – Step back in time and experience classic Hollywood glamour with a touch of Disney magic. This dining destination pays homage to the year when the legendary animation studio was founded in Southern California. With two stunning dining rooms named after the brothers who started it all – Walt and Roy, 1923 is a feast for the senses. Admire drawings, props, and other animation tools that depict the evolution of Disney animation from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen II.

Animator’s Palate (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – This is definitely one of the most unique dining experiences onboard, and you can find it on four Disney cruise ships. Offering Pacific Island foods, Asian cooking, and fresh California fare, Disney animation comes to life throughout your meal.

Arendelle - A Frozen Dining Adventure | Magic in the Planning

Enchanted Garden (Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Inspired by the gardens of Versailles, this restaurant is truly breathtaking. It serves a market-style menu and is one of the main dining restaurants onboard that also serves breakfast and lunch.

Lumiere’s (Disney Magic) – This Main Dining restaurant found only on the Disney Magic serves American cuisine for breakfast and lunch and contemporary French fare for dinner.

Rapunzel’s Royal Table (Disney Magic) – This restaurant is only available on the Disney Magic and currently serves dinner on Disney’s rotational dining. It serves American favorites as well as flavors from around the world. And did I mention there is also live entertainment and character appearances?

Royal Court (Disney Fantasy) – This restaurant, serving French-inspired, continental fare, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board the Disney Fantasy, and its decor is inspired by several different Disney fairy tales.

Dining on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

Royal Palace (Disney Dream) – This restaurant is very similar to the Royal Court on the Disney Fantasy. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it serves French-inspired, continental fare, and is inspired by Disney royalty.

Tiana’s Place (Disney Wonder) – Inspired by Princess Tiana and New Orleans, this restaurant comes to life during dinner with live jazz music and character appearances while serving Louisiana-inspired, Creole and Cajun food.

Disney Menu Updates: 28 Restaurants Make CHANGES…and We Are NOT a Fan of This One

disney cruise line restaurant menus

The Disney parks are constantly making changes…but they can’t all be hits!

disney cruise line restaurant menus

Every week, Disney is updating menus whether that’s completely overhauling a restaurant’s menu or adding exclusive treats for a special occasion. We’re going to get into all of those changes here in a minute, but there was one we tried and wanted to warn you about in particular!

Pizzafari over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t our favorite quick service spot in the park, but it’s a solid and safe option for a lot of people. Hey, we get it! However, last week, Disney added a new Gnocchi Primavera dish to the menu, and well…let’s just say it was a little disappointing.

disney cruise line restaurant menus

It looks like it came straight out of the freezer section in a grocery store and unfortunately tasted like it too. We’ve had some other delicious eats here, so it was sad that this was a miss for us.

13 Best Cruise Line Restaurants

C ruise ships have come a long way in terms of dining. For decades, they were often lost in a sea of stereotypes, mired in preconceived notions of gluttonous buffets, treacly piña coladas, and well-done steaks. But things have shifted dramatically of late — buffets and guilty pleasure cocktails are still abundant, but not only has the quality of said pleasures risen to new echelons, but cruise ships have become a magnet for specialty restaurants and celebrity chefs . Long gone are the days of lackluster waffles and pizza under heat lamps, and in are the days of caviar platters and $5,000 cocktails .

Like the chefs putting their names on seafaring menus nowadays, passengers see cruise ships as an opportunity to escape, indulge, and try something new. As cruise lines ramp up their amenities and itineraries to levels never seen before, from pickle-ball courts and Pride parties to ports of call in Istanbul and Oslo, the same upswing has taken foot with their restaurants, evolving from dated stereotypes to full-fledged dining destinations in and of themselves. From ritzy steakhouses to whimsical dining rooms and jazzy lounges, these are some of the best cruise line restaurants in the world.

Pinnacle Grill - Holland America Line

If ever there was a cruise line that takes dining seriously, it's Holland America Line, a longstanding company — currently celebrating its 150th year — that recently made waves with its launch of chef-driven food cruises . And if ever there was a restaurant that exemplified those notions, it's Pinnacle Grill. From filets topped with lobster dumplings to baked Alaska the size of Alaska, it ticks all the boxes for the ultimate steakhouse.

Found on numerous Holland America ships, like the Oosterdam and the Rotterdam, the ritzy steakhouse can hold its own against the finest surf & turf temples on land — thanks to its swanky and refined atmosphere coupled with its plethora of wet-aged USDA Prime steaks, meticulous presentation, and expert wine pairings. Celebrity chef David Burke helped create some of the menu items, like the "Clothesline Candied Bacon," featuring maple- and pepper-glazed bacon dangling from miniature wires, and the beef tenderloin with lobster dumplings, lobster béarnaise, celery root purée, and horseradish bordelaise. There's also an umami-rich forest mushroom soup, poured table-side from a tea kettle, sofrito-spiced Alaskan king crab legs, and the "Not-So-Classic" baked Alaska with cherry ice cream, meringue, and flaming cherries jubilee.

Wonderland - Royal Caribbean

It's whimsy and edible pageantry on the high seas at Wonderland, a fantastically themed dining room aboard globe-trotting Royal Caribbean ships like Anthem of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Spectrum of the Seas. As the name implies, the restaurant draws inspiration from "Alice in Wonderland" for both its soaring, kaleidoscopic decor and its playful dishes and drinks.

The whole dining experience feels more like an immersive art experience than dinner, starting with guests "brushing" the menu at the entrance of the restaurant, with a paintbrush dipped in water, revealing a slew of dishes inspired by natural elements like earth, fire, sun, ice, and sea. It's like an edible choose-your-own-adventure, with "fire" options like crispy shrimp kataifi with Scotch bonnet pepper, or "sea" plates like Branzino with tamarind emulsion. Even the kids have quirky options, with "Rabbitizers" like fruit salad with hot yogurt and maple ice cream.

Animator's Palate - Disney Cruise Line

Just as the restaurants at Disney World have become full-blown dining destinations in recent years, the same draw can be said of the company's cruise ships, replete with all manner of elaborately themed restaurants, lounges, bars, and cafes. One of the best, though, is an older standby that's remained a frontrunner amidst a sea of dazzling new additions: Animator's Palate.

Like a new kind of dinner theater, the animation-themed restaurant starts with dinner in an all-white room, with walls designed to look like blank canvases for Disney Imagineers. Throughout the evening, the walls and decor magically fill in with color, until by dessert, it's alive with classic Disney characters and settings. All the while, guests are feasting on dishes inspired by pan-Asian and Californian cuisines, like smoked salmon tartare, black bean chipotle cakes, and peanut butter mousse. It's all available aboard Disney Cruise Line vessels like the Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy.

Red Ginger - Oceania Cruises

Pan-Asian cuisine on cruise ships is nothing new — but pan-Asian cuisine at the level of Oceania Cruises; Red Ginger is a novelty worth cruising for. One of the best Asian restaurants at sea, the sleek and contemporary concept exudes luxury amidst a minimalist backdrop that looks more like a swanky art gallery than a place you'd go for tempura.

Here, contemporary plates fuse flavors from Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and beyond, starting with shareable platters of fresh sushi and skewers, along with rich tom kha gai soup redolent with coconut milk and lemongrass. The spicy duck and watermelon salad, strewn with cashews and sweet fish sauce, is far from a vegetal afterthought, followed by stunning entrees like sole tempura in orange ponzu, lobster pad Thai, and red snapper in banana leaf with Makrut lime and chili paste. Save room for sweets, like the steamed ginger cake with apple-cardamon ice cream. Red Ginger can be found on Oceania Cruises' Marina, Rivera, or Sirena.

Silver Note - Silversea

If Frank Sinatra were alive today, he'd surely be a fixture at Silver Note, a jazzy piano bar and restaurant with swanky decor and a dark interior motif that feels like a romantic lounge in New York City or Paris. Found aboard Silversea ships like the Silver Dawn, Silver Spirit, and Silver Muse, all of which are smaller vessels providing a more intimate outing, Silver Note reaches a high note in dining, drinking, and nighttime entertainment.

Bedecked with a grand piano and bluesy singers, with plenty of room for couples to dance once they've polished off their Sugar Volcano, the lounge features tapas-style plates like yellowfin tuna with green quinoa, marinated octopus with caramelized pumpkin purée, and seared lamb loin with onion risotto and lamb jus — and dish beautifully presented, and ideally followed by the aforementioned Volcano, a kind of mountainous cheesecake with chocolate and caramel.

Fahrenheit 555 - Carnival

Found aboard several Carnival Cruise Line ships, like the Breeze, Celebration, and Horizon, Fahrenheit 555 is among the swankiest steakhouse at sea. Awash in hues of brown and crimson-red, and adjoined by a huge wall of wine bottles, the dining room is stately and majestic — an optimal setting in which to enjoy decadent portions of surf & turf.

Starters include escargots, Cognac-spiked lobster bisque, and meltingly tender beef carpaccio with shaved parmesan, while salads hew classic with Caesar salad and iceberg wedges. On to the entrees, steak is the star, available in burly portions of broiled prime New York strip, grilled cowboy steak, and spice-rubbed rib-eye, while seafood shares the spotlight with lobster tail and Maine lobster ravioli. To drink, sommeliers oversee an enviable portfolio of buttery whites and robust reds, along with dessert wine and digestifs — both of which pair nicely with chocolate samplers and cheesecake with hazelnut biscotti.

Cuadro 44 By Anthony Sasso - Windstar Cruises

A newer addition to Windstar Cruises' increasingly alluring dining options, Cuadro 44 by Anthony Sasso showcases the contemporary Spanish stylings of a Michelin-starred chef. Found aboard the boutique lines' Star Class ships, which include Star Breeze and Star Legend, the intimate and art-filled restaurant zigs where many cruise ship restaurants zag, emphasizing small plates and open kitchen cookery.

With only 38 seats, a far cry from standard super-sized cruise ship dining rooms, Cuadro 44 offers a more curated and quaint dining experience, complete with a communal table and chef's counter. From here, guests can savor authentic tapas like Spanish tortillas, paella croquetas, and charred octopus with pimentón and pickled celery. There are also a few entrées, like pork belly with romesco and jamón bacon bits, or toasted angel hair pasta with confit chicken and chorizo, and worthy desserts like churros with salted tamarind hot chocolate.

The Grill By Thomas Keller - Seabourn

Boutique cruise line Seabourn went big when it came to taking a chef-driven approach to its dining offerings. And by "big," we mean Thomas Keller, a Michelin-starred icon and one of the most lauded chefs in the U.S. Found aboard the posh Encore ship, The Grill by Thomas Keller is an opulent ode to Americana, spotlighting surf & turf — and everything in between — in a lavish style befitting its gilded dining room.

Here, guests can indulge in fine dining on the high seas, starting with table-side Caesar salads and steamed artichokes with garlic mayonnaise, before progressing to show-stopping plates like Dover sole Meuniere, lobster Thermidor, broiled veal T-bone, and Snake River Farms rib-eye. The steakhouse stylings keep going strong on the side, and for dessert, with options like steak fries and creamed spinach, followed by seven-layer coconut cake and ice cream sundaes. Round it all out with a classic cocktail or a glass of Old-World wine.

Canaletto - Holland America Line

As one of the most global cruise lines, with numerous sailings to Italy, Holland America knows a thing or two about authentic Italian cuisine — a concept on full, lustrous display at its elegant Italian concept, Canaletto. Found on nearly a dozen different ships, the airy restaurant pair prime sea views with prime meats, seafood, pasta, and some pleasant menu surprises.

Along with unique nightly specials, like osso bucco Milanese with saffron risotto on Mondays and veal liver Veneziana with mascarpone whipped potatoes on Wednesdays, the menu boasts shareable starts like veal and sage meatballs, beef carpaccio with mustard aïoli, and grilled calamari with salsa verde. Heartier portions exhibit a penchant for balance, refinement, and elegant plating, from the spaghetti alle vongole swirled with garlicky clams and shrimp, to braised beef short rib gnocchi with butter-roasted carrots and the grilled Branzino with verdant elements of zucchini, mint, and pistachios. Finish off with a silk-smooth orange blossom ricotta tart, and pair it with a bracing Negroni.

Remy - Disney Cruise Line

Among the most in-demand adults-only restaurants aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet, Remy is a ritzy restaurant specializing in polished French fare partly inspired by Disney's most food-centric film, "Ratatouille." But instead of a rat chef, the mind behind the menus here is vaunted French chef Arnaud Lallement, who works with Scott Hunnel — from Disney World's most acclaimed restaurant , Victoria & Albert's — to curate a menu of authentic cuisine.

Meals here begin with a complimentary Champagne cocktail, followed by a spree of seasonal French fare via a multi-course tasting menu, highlighting ingredients like Kobe beef, sablefish, elk, duck, and langoustine. It's all interspersed with a roving cheese trolley, a deep wine list, and a five-course dessert experience. The restaurant also offers a prix fixe Champagne brunch, with plates like vegetable risotto, lobster cannelloni, and gnocchi. Remy can be found aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

150 Central Park - Royal Caribbean

Considering cruise ships are far from land, the concept of farm-to-table cookery isn't typically associated with sailing the high seas. But thanks to restaurants like 150 Central Park, a rigorously seasonal restaurant rooted in farm-fresh ingredients plucked at their peak, those assumptions are shifting. Found on Royal Caribbean ships like the Allure of the Seas, the Oasis of the Seas, and the Harmony of the Seas, the restaurant serves dishes as artistic and contemporary as they are bright and bold.

Start with an Urban Garden Martini, a fresh aperitif made with vodka, cucumber, basil, and lemongrass, as you peruse appetizers like sunchoke veloute, roasted spiced pumpkin bisque, and seared honey-glazed scallops with chorizo stew and orange sauce. Entrées are even more elaborate, whereas seared venison loin comes with chocolate-port wine sauce, cauliflower steak features Greek yogurt and pumpkin seeds, and lamb Wellington arrives with butternut squash and garlic jus. For the grand finale, look for artisanal cheeses and fried cheesecake with Nutella and caramelized popcorn.

Mamsen's - Viking

Considering its Norse name, and the fact that the fleet sails to Norway, it's only fitting that Viking cruise line features a Scandinavian restaurant rooted in Norwegian tradition. So named for the mother of Viking chairman and CEO  Torstein Hagen (mamsen means "mum" in Norwegian), the cute and sunny eatery serves up atypical cruise fare like traditional heart-shaped waffles from the Explorer's Lounge of Viking's ocean ships.

Said waffles are Mamsen's calling card, an ode to a Norwegian household tradition otherwise known as hjertevafler. Thinner and less fluffy than their Belgian or American counterparts, they're served with brown goat cheese for a distinctly toasty richness. Elsewhere on the homegrown menu, guests will find dishes like open-faced sandwiches, cured meats, Norwegian cakes, and ertesuppe, aka pea soup. It's all served up in a quaint, relaxing cafe-like environment that feels comfortably aligned with the cozy Scandinavian concept of hygge.

Razzle Dazzle - Virgin Voyages

Known for its playful, colorful, and whimsical concepts, from hotels to airlines, Virgin Voyages keeps the cheeky theming going strong with its most unique dining and drinking concept, Razzle Dazzle. Found aboard the Scarlet Lady ship, this is the kind of exciting something-for-everyone bar and restaurant that serves everything from melon salad to rainbow churros.

The contemporary and stylish space skews vegetarian, with plates divvied into categories like small plates, mains, and meatier "naughty" options. Mushroom tartare and whole-roasted heirloom cauliflower are a couple of standouts, as is the vegetarian "fish" & chips, with crispy banana blossom subbing in for seafood. Fried chicken with buttered hot sauce provides a meaty option, while desserts shine with blueberry-green tea vegan cheesecake, rainbow churros with ube ice cream, and a whole category dedicated to milk and cookies. Also available on ships like the Scarlet Lady and the Valiant Lady, Razzle Dazzle by Night offers a late-night vibe with cocktails and disco-centric dance music.

Radisson Royal

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Worth the money you pay. Amazing view, food pricey though delicious , great service and 2.5 hours of relaxation. Good teas, nicely served pasta with caviar which I recommend, nice spaghetti bolognese, good beers. Beautiful ship, well looked after, everything looks new and clean.

This was a highlight for use. We enjoyed a superb 3 course meal and saw the city from the the Moscow river in such a serene way. We enjoyed seeing all the sights including Gorky Park (huge and glorious) The views of the business area... (Stunning) The Kremlin and St Basil's. Food quality was excellent as was the service. No patronising commentary to ruin the romance. Just a really wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended. More

disney cruise line restaurant menus

It's nice to see Moscow city from the Moscow River. The journey started from the Radisson Royal Hotel, up stream then down stream back. There are several boats offer similar kind of services, from seat arrangement and the boat condition I think Radisson Royal is... the best, the journey is smooth and pleasant. However the food and drinks offered were quite so so. My friend ordered red wine was not to the standard at all. We took many pictures, the best ones were taken during returning close to the Kremlin's red walls section, the lights and reflection from Moscow River. More

It was about 2 1/2 hours boating and dinner. very nice views of Moscow city center. A must have visit. http://www.radisson-cruise.ru/index_en.php

The receptionist is very unpolite. Rooms are ( single ) very small, this hotel does not deserve these stars.

A luxurious, relaxing cruise on the Moscow River to see the many beautiful views of the city. The 2.5 hour cruise is great for a nice dinner from its diverse menu along with some drinks. One can see the stunning views of the city and... at dawn, these views are even more impressive. Recommendation is for later departure in the summer due to the "White Night" effect when it doesn't get dark until well past 9 p.m. More

disney cruise line restaurant menus

Cruise takes 2,5 hours and takes you on the Moscow river, so you can enjoy night views. The food is excellent, wide selection of sea food, meat. There is live music band playing, but unless you sit next to the group, you can still talk... (and hear each other) around the table. The wine selection is very good, but once again you pay quite a steep price for it More

This is a very luxuries boat that is related radisson Blue hotel . The hotel had 2 boats . Reservation is better because tickets can finish Quickly specially if there is a group of tourist . There is 3 level of admission which is so... much expensive . The boat goes in a nice trip over the river and return back within 2 hours with serving nice food More

A voyage lasts 2 1/2 hours boating and dinner. Nice views of Moscow city center. The atmoshere is very relaxing. But unfortunately I did not like the service and the food. As for me, the salmon was too fried. The salad was fatty. The waiters... are inattantive, you should repeat the order several times More

I have been in Moscow for 4 nights in this hotel it was very clean and beautiful good location and polite staff...there are also iron and tea maker in rooms

I lived in Moscow for 18 years and can tell you that there is no better (affordable) boat tour company in Moscow than Radisson Royal, however, that is not to say that it is very good. IMPORTANT: if you are someone, who has never been... to Moscow before and knows relatively little about it, then go buy a ticket, this is a "must" for you! Otherwise, read on. The trips run very often so there is always going to be a place for you no matter when you choose to go. I had a friend visiting from London- her first time in Russia, so as mentioned above, we had to go on the boat tour. We got the cheapest 650 ruble tickets. Perhaps that was where we went wrong. The boats are all new, meaning that nothing is broken and the interior looks well kept. However on the standard class decks the actual furniture and set up is more like a cheap cafe, while the prices are of a mid-range restaurant and that is excluding the entrance fee! They have the stereotypical "traditional" menu options- Oliv'ye salad, Pelmeni, Tarhun, etc. They are not particularly well prepared but are appreciated by many budget tourists i know. The trips operate on a first come, first served basis. To get the nice window seats you would have to come at least 20 minutes before the boat leaves. We didn't and consequently had a limited view. The boats are understaffed. We had to wait for a good 30 minutes before someone came over with menus (they have ones in English) and throughout the journey waiters would be running around visibly stressed. Furthermore they don't have a lot of the items on the menu, which is annoying considering how long ordering something else takes. Our waiter was very apologetic and tried hard but the food is definitely not a reason to do the tour. The actual journey was nice because the view of Moscow from the river is beautiful. You can also go outside and take pictures. Apparently there is an audio guide you can get for free but we didn't attempt it. Overall, I recommend eating somewhere nice beforehand and then going on the Radisson Royal just for the view and maybe a drink or two. More

A friend came from Greece and we wanted to show her around. It was her first time in Moscow ever, so one of the things we planned was a lunch on board of Radisson Royal. The experience exceeded our expectations. First of all, it was... really nice and comfortable. Going there in January we had our reservations and were even a bit worried about getting a cold. Nothing of the sort. It was nice and warm and since our ship was the first one to cruise that day, we were breaking the ice (literally!) and this was an adventure in itself. I never thought it would be so fascinating breaking ice on Moscow river in January. Secondly, the food was really nice. All of us found something on the menu that we loved, even those of us who had health concerns or allergies. And, of course, the views - you are guaranteed to get tons of wonderful pictures provided the weather is nice (it was nice and sunny in our case, so no complaints). On top of that, you get a free audio guide in I don't remember how many languages, so you can also learn a lot about the buildings you pass by. All in all, will definitely repeat the experience in spring or summer, and will definitely go on weekend to take advantage of their kids program. Highly recommend! More

Walt Disney World restaurant earns first-ever Michelin star

The chef de cuisine 'cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics,' Michelin's judges said.

For foodies traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World’s Victoria and Albert’s restaurant has long been a go-to restaurant. The upscale restaurant has won numerous awards , including 24 consecutive AAA Five Diamond Awards and the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award.

Over the years, though, one of the culinary world’s most prestigious honors, the Michelin star, has eluded Victoria and Albert’s — until now.

On April 18, Victoria and Albert’s was one of nine Florida restaurants to earn a Michelin star from the panel of anonymous inspectors who judge each restaurant based on its atmosphere, service and food.

Walt Disney World's Victoria and Albert's earns a Michelin star.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by Michelin for the innovative dining experience our team brings to life here at Victoria and Albert’s,” said Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers in a statement shared by the official Disney Parks Blog . “Everybody on our team earned this Star, from our stewards to our culinarians to our pastry chefs, and we hope to inspire future generations of culinary professionals to follow their dreams.”

The official Michelin statement about Victoria and Albert’s spoke highly of Sower’s culinary skill, saying “Chef Matthew Sowers cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics.”

Other standout qualities from the judges included Victoria and Albert’s “‘sandwiches’ made with venison carpaccio and red cabbage, and bold sauces like cherry-cola bordelaise.”

Restaurants can earn from one star to three stars based on their evaluation. One Michelin star is awarded “to restaurants using top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavors are prepared to a consistently high standard.” Fewer than 200 U.S. restaurants earn a one-star Michelin rating, so winning this accolade is a major accomplishment.

Known for its wine list of more than 500 varieties and a constantly changing menu to reflect the freshest and finest ingredients, Victoria and Albert’s offers guests three dining experiences, including a meal in the traditional dining room, an expanded menu offering in Queen Victoria’s Room or a luxurious, intimate dining event at The Chef’s Table.

Walt Disney World's Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table dining experience

Up to six people can embark on a 3-hour culinary tour around the world customized to the guest’s preferences. Prices for this unique experience start at $425 per guest, not including an optional wine pairing ($210 per guest) or zero-proof pairings ($145 per guest).

The restaurant is located in Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridan Resort. Reservations must be made in advance online or by calling 407-939-3862 . This experience books up quickly, so leave plenty of time to make your reservations. Victoria and Albert’s is only for guests ages 19 and up and requires semi-formal or formal attire.

Moscow cruise port

Region Russia Rivers

Local Time 2024-04-24 12:45

Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .

Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.

According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center.

Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city.

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

  • The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
  • Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
  • Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
  • The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.

South River Terminal (above photo) was opened in 1985.

Dramatic moment US Coast Guard rescues pregnant woman from Disney cruise ship

The US Coast Guard has released a dramatic video of a pregnant woman being airlifted from a Disney Fantasy cruise ship in order to receive emergency medical attention.

A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew rescued the 35-year-old woman who experienced health complications and required a higher level of medical care ashore.

Members of the Coast Guard based in Puerto Rico received a communication from the Disney Fantasy Monday morning requesting medevac assistance as the cruise ship was transiting 260 miles northwest of the island.

Coast Guard operations unit leader Michael Riccio praised the crews of both the helicopter and the cruise ship saying: "The competency displayed by the Disney Fantasy crew and the Coast Guard personnel and units involved made all the difference."

Once on scene, the Coast Guard Jayhawk aircrew deployed their rescue swimmer aboard the cruise ship, who prepared a rescue basket and litter to safely hoist the patient and cruise ship doctor aboard the aircraft.

The Coast Guard aircrew transported the patient to the Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where local Emergency Medical Service personnel received and transported the patient to the local hospital.

"Our crew was able to quickly, safely, and efficiently execute a long-range MEDEVAC for the patient to receive the higher level of care she required," said Lieutenant Commander Todd Stephens.

"This case demonstrates the value of good crew resource management and the capabilities of our Jayhawk helicopter."

Royal Caribbean and the government of the Bahamas broke ground Monday on the joint venture to develop a strip of land in the cruise port of Nassau called Paradise Island.

The government in 2023 gave the OK for the cruise line to develop a 17-acre portion into what will be called Royal Beach Club Paradise Island when it opens in 2025. Cruise line executives and government officials, including Prime Minister Philip Davis, grabbed shovels along the white sandy beaches with turquoise water in the background.

“With the signing of the deal [for] Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, we embark on this project to further enhance the vitality of our tourism product,” Davis said. “Signing today’s agreement, we add another world-class experience to our tourism offerings. And even more importantly, we take a bold step toward greater Bahamian empowerment in the tourism industry.”

The site is on the western edge of the strip of land that runs alongside the waterway through which ships brought nearly 4.5 million passengers in 2023, making Nassau the world’s busiest cruise port of call.

Royal Caribbean’s site expects about 2,000 visitors a day. They will be ferried over from the port but then return by land going through downtown Nassau.

It’s the first site for the smaller-sized beach club private destination Royal Caribbean plans to build out as opposed to its private island and resort destinations such as Perfect Day at Coco Cay in the Bahamas and Labadee on Haiti’s northern coast.

The Paradise Island spot will play up Bahamian culture alongside traditional offerings such as the beach, cabanas, four food and drink venues and three pools with swim-up bars. The site is being designed by a Bahamian architectural firm, and will give space for local artisan work for sale and live local music.

The project is a public-private partnership under which Bahamians are invited to own up to 49% of it. The plan is for locals to manage the experiences offered at the resort.

The cruise line will own 13 acres of the property while 4 acres go to Crown Land, which is a territorial area owned by the state. The cruise line will also pay a new tourism levy in exchange for the development.

“Marking more than the beginning of the construction process, today’s groundbreaking event symbolizes partnership, momentum and continued economic development for so many Bahamian entrepreneurs and the entire community,” said Jason Liberty, the cruise line parent company Royal Caribbean Group’s President and CEO. “We are grateful to our partners for their support, especially the Bahamian government, who stand with us here today in celebration of what is to come.”

The additional attraction to the port augments a $300 million overhaul of the Nassau Cruise Port that had its grand opening last year.

Already the port has expanded its capacity to six ships, including the ability to dock three of the massive Oasis-class ships from Royal Caribbean at once.

The revamp includes a new terminal building, Junkanoo museum, 3,500-person amphitheater, living coral exhibit plus more entertainment, food, beverage and retail space. Once complete, the port’s capacity will jump to more than 33,000 passengers per day. It had been around 20,000 a day.
